Ransack
:Ransack is a Decepticon from the Revenge of the Fallen franchise portion of the live-action film continuity family.

Early in the development of flight technology on Cybertron, countless ages ago in the era of the Dynasty of Primes, the great Seeker Ransack was a pioneer. One of the first flying aces, blasting opponent after opponent out of the sky, his ruthlessness was feared by all!

These days, though, he's old and outdated. Some Decepticons like Divebomb remember his glory days and idolise the man, but the current Decepticon high command merely see him as a means to an end and many young Autobots are unaware who he is. But Ransack is still resourceful and he still remains active, waiting patiently for the day when his beloved master will call for him once more.

One of The Fallen's agents on Earth, Ransack hadn't heard directly from the Fallen in a long time. Transformers Comic issue 2.7 In his time on Earth, he had discovered the Tomb of the Primes, location of the lost Matrix of Leadership... but, recognising no other commander besides the Fallen, he stayed on Earth for decades and wouldn't give the information to anyone but his master. Transformers Comic issue 2.8 He also shows some knowledge of someone who switched sides. Transformers Comic issue 2.7

He eventually received an order from his master via Soundwave: murder Skids and Mudflap before they could warn the other Autobots of the Decepticon's upcoming plans. First bombing the interstate they were driving on, he went on to pursue them into the countryside, soon strafing them in an open field. A proud Seeker and servant of his lord, he got a bit pissed at these young whippersnappers dissing his alternate mode and was likely more pissed off when they temporarily disabled him with dirt.

Recovering quickly, and helped by their lack of energon, he soon had them ran to ground and was about to execute them. At that moment, Bumblebee arrived and sent him running. Ransack warned that in the long run, he'd be the winner... Transformers Comic issue 2.2

Later, Soundwave would try to get the location of the Tomb from the Seeker. Ransack, not trusting him, refused to give the information to someone who wasn't the Fallen. The twins, at this point pretending to have defected, hunted him down for Soundwave, and Ransack was glad for the chance to finish them off. Skids ended the fight quickly by lying they had been sent by the Fallen to bring him back in, with Mudflap adding the Fallen was incapacitated; having not heard from his master in a long time and wanting to come in from the cold, Ransack was easily conned into standing down.

Unfortunately for him, that's when Grindor attacked, blowing his wings out and taking him prisoner! Transformers Comic issue 2.7

Dragged to the Decepticon base on Phobos, Mars, Ransack found himself questioned by Soundwave, i.e. punched in the effing face and yelled at to talk. He still refused to speak, and instead began to insult Soundwave for being a mere cog in the Fallen's machine, unable to grasp the true plan; Starscream quickly stepped in to stop the angry officer from killing the Seeker, noting it wouldn't go well if the Fallen found out they'd killed one of his Seekers. Ransack was just left amused by the squabbling and Starscream's threats of 'loosening' him up. He knew from their actions that the Fallen was genuinely incapacitated and that, because of this, the Decepticons thought they had freedom of action and were pursuing their own agenda. This freedom was an illusion, and they'd learn that soon enough...

His chance came when Skids and Mudflap attacked the Phobos base. The instant Starscream was distracted, Ransack shot him in the back and fled into space. He roared that he was going to inform the Fallen of just what the Decepticons had been up to... there'd be nowhere for them to hide after that! Soundwave and Starscream hurriedly chased after him, desperate to make sure he wouldn't be able to talk.

Since the two errant generals were still working for the Fallen and the Tomb was undiscovered later on, I guess they did make sure he didn't talk...! Transformers Comic issue 2.8
Revenge of the Fallen novelization
When Jetfire transported Sam Witwicky's group through a transspacial portal to Egypt, the energy discharge caught the attention of Ransack, who followed them through his own portal. Ransack flew towards the group until his engine sputtered out and he crashed in front of Jetfire. Ransack then transformed and started to pick a fight with Jetfire, calling him a yellow-bellied traitor. Taking the "yellow" comment the wrong way, Bumblebee wanted to intervene, but Sam convinced him that the dispute was between the two of them and they shouldn't get involved.

Declaring that they were going to settle things right there and then, Ransack took a shot at Jetfire...which bounced off him, causing no damage. Jetfire abruptly ended the conflict by stomping Ransack to death.

Jetfire later identified himself and Ransack as Seekers. Revenge of the Fallen (novel)

At some undetermined point while he was on Earth, Ransack fell into the clutches of the mysterious human organization known as the Initiative, who had developed a means to control Transformers. Kept on ice in the Initiative's base, Ransack was thawed out in 2010 and sent into action to down the helicopter carrying Theodore Galloway and his men before they could intrude on the Initiative's attempt to harvest residual AllSpark energy from Hoover Dam. Remotely controlled by Initiative operative Woolf, Ransack struck while most of the Autobots were out escorting the captured Soundwave in New Mexico, destroying Captain Cox's helicopter and shooting down Galloway's. Nefarious issue 3 He transformed into robot mode to finish the job on the ground, but was soon interrupted by Skids and Mudflap, who had been dispatched to Galloway's aid. They kept Ransack busy until a NEST unit arrived to finish the Seeker off rather definitively by blowing him out of the sky. Nefarious issue 4
: Ransack is part of the second wave of Revenge of the Fallen Scout Class figures. He transforms into a German Albatros D.III biplane. This means he's really awesome. He has a non-firing weapon on each arm and totally metal details around the very large Decepticon insignias on his wings. His official battle mode may be designed to give him mechanically-aided robot-mode flight capabilities.

:The ball joints on his shoulders are especially loose, and the pegs that hold his hands in place in vehicle mode (as well as the joints in his elbows) are much stronger. As such, his arms are going to pop off about 90% of the time while converting the figure.

:His weapons are swapped on his card art. Ransack's mold was also used to make Movie Divebomb, and was planned to be used for the cancelled Blue Maximus.
Notes
* Ransack was apparently going to be in the movie at one point. Ben Procter designed his robot mode. Instead of a biplane, Ransack was supposed to transform into a Ford Model T. Later, on the Special Features of the Revenge of the Fallen's DVD release, a scale chart was visible that showed Ransack as one of the Decepticons for the film, this time in his biplane design. His height was listed as 12'.

* Ransack's Generation 2 counterpart also has a propeller-driven airplane alternate mode, though it's a single-wing fighter. The name Ransack has thus been used for both the first WWI-era and WWII-era Transformer planes.

* Ransack is not named in the novelization, but he is described as an elderly biplane with Decepticon insignias on his wings.

* In his second and third Titan appearance, he was coloured green and black in robot mode... and then gained his toy colours in plane mode?

* While his bio doesn't say he's a Seeker, both the novelization and Titan Magazines have made him one. Also, in the movie, a picture Agent Simmons produces of a presumed Seeker contains a biplane.

* Unlike Titan, IDW (as with many other movie toys) redesigned his robot mode to be more like the live-action character designs.

Attack mode (sometimes called Battle mode) is an extra mode added to a Transformer toy to give its robot mode and/or alternate mode a more combat-orientated configuration. It primarily consists of a figure arranging or adding weapons in such a way that it becomes more focused on combat than the standard robot or alternate mode. Sometimes it consists of uncovering weapons not seen on either mode. A good example of this is B'Boom's third mode. Another example is Ultra Magnus; by deploying his cannons on his back and flipping out his guns, he goes from imposing to "beating you to hell and back".

However, attack mode may also involve only a slight shift from the basic robot/alt mode, such as folding wings onto the shoulders, like Ransack, or just pointing the beast mode head up on the chest, as with Snarl. It is most likely that these modes are thought up by Hasbro to give the toy an extra bonus without actually investing in extra parts.

Toys
Generation 1
The Omnibots possessed vehicular "assault modes" with weapons systems deployed from their alt modes.

Beast Wars
The term "attack mode" was used rather loosely throughout the Beast Wars. Several characters were advertised as having an attack mode in their instruction booklets, but oftentimes, this mode was merely the character's beast mode with their robot-mode weapons deployed. Nonetheless, the following characters were referred as having an attack mode:

Additionally, the following characters were said to possess an animal attack mode:

What draws the line between an animal attack mode and a regular attack mode in these cases is unknown. B'Boom and Transquito were the only Transformers to possess two separate "attack modes" each. Oddly enough, nearly all toys from this era were shown as possessing similar offensive abilities in their beast modes that would suggest they too had either an "attack mode" or an "animal attack mode". However, in these cases, said ability was not shown to be a distinct mode, but was alternatively referred to with the somewhat redundant term "attack weapons". Finally, Optimal Optimus possesses two vehicle modes, the names of which evoked an "attack mode": his "Hypersonic Attack Mode" and his "Ground Assault Mode".

In the guide book Beast Wars Universe, there are several terms for third mode besides "attack mode", including:

{{collist|3|
;Another form

Energon
Aside from the smaller Terrorcons and the Decepticon combiners, every Decepticon has a Hyper Mode. Sometimes it is just a minor repositioning of parts, as with Slugslinger, but in many cases, it reveals hidden weapons or accessories, like Sharkticon's side cannons or Snow Cat's skis. In the cases of Scorponok, Shockblast, and Six Shot, their third modes (scorpion or satellite) act as the vehicle mode's hyper mode, the vehicle mode being a plane or a laser tank.

Transformers Animated
* Oil Slick has a hilarious "Vehicle Attack Mode" that pretty much looks like he's doing a pushup.
* Snarl features an "attack mode", that is basically flipping the beast mode's face up on his robot mode chest.

Live-action film series
*Depthcharge and his redecoes, Sonar and the cancelled Drydock, have a battle mode allowing them to transform into robot mode while still on the water and float on large boat-feet.
*Ransack and his redeco, Divebomb have a battle mode that consists of his rotor being pointed forward and his wings propped upwards.
*Skystalker and his redeco, Sunspot, have a battle mode.<!--Don't know if Smokescreen (G2) counts, since he is a G2 character.-->

The entire Stealth Force concept can be considered attack modes for a Transformer's alternate form, and several toys from Dark of the Moon toyline have the ability to deploy weapons (or at least ports to peg weapons onto) in vehicle mode to simulate it.

*Buzzclaw
*Optimus Minor

Does Omega Sentinel appear in the Cartoon? I didn't follow Energon.

Here's a secondary question: The "Guardians of Cybertron" are refered to as "legendary" and Omega Supreme is, in the Cartoon, an ancient robot that defeated Unicron milenia ago. So were the Guardians the team he was on *THEN* making Sentinel also an extremely ancient Cybertronian?? Or did the team form in the present after Omega revived? (But in that case it'd be weird there were others just like him whose command he'd happen to be placed under, if he was an ancient powerful legend.) I think it makes more sense if all the Guardians were likewise ancient mechs, right?

Also, do we assume that since Sup and Sent are Guardians and share the same form that ALL the "Guardians of Cybertron" were the same build, like the Guardian Robots from G1?
Pretty much. Though I do wonder if we should put a picture of him combined with optimus.--207.157.73.3 13:00, 1 March 2012 (EST)Josh Of the allspark
The Elder Gods are a race of cold, alien, and evil intelligences that exist in the non-spacetime of swirling anti-matter "outside" our universe. Possibly dwarfing even Unicron in terms of power, their limitless abilities are checked only by their inscrutable motivations and indifference to the affairs of lesser egregores that grow in the warm and wet hothouse of time and space we so arrogantly call "reality".They aren't immune to being beat up by optimus prime, though.

Fiction
Cybertron comic
Ramjet was cast adrift between dimensions when Unicron's form imploded into a black hole. He found himself in the realm of the "ancient gods" who repeatedly destroyed and re-created his body from the inside out while toying with his spark. Bored, they cast him back into the universe he had come from. Ramjet (Universe) Ramjet then sought out his fellow herald Nemesis Prime and journeyed to the dimension in which Unicron was trapped. Balancing Act

As a result of his encounter with the ancient gods, Ramjet's body was now composed of antimatter held together by the force of his will, he had a permanent connection to non-space, and his body occasionally manifested little... tentacle-things.

Hearts of Steel
Despite being trapped in their dimensional prison, the Elder Gods had the power to reach out to sensitive beings. Among them was Howard Lovecraft, who channeled the Elder Gods' call into horror prose. Despite the clandestine organization, Oblivion, succeeding at killing Lovecraft before his art could threaten to allow the Elder Gods into the universe, his stories spread into popular culture. This collective imagination, with the help of Artillica, let loose the Elder Gods. Free and unencumbered, they rampaged along the multiverse. Infestation 2 issue 1

One of the universe in which the Elder Gods arose was one where the Transformers awoke in the 19th century. Through one's fish people servants, they took control of a populace of humans in Port Cenotaph and a band of Decepticons. Ironhide ran into the god's servants and, realizing the forces at work here, warned the other Autobots. However, he was pulled into the Elder God's thrall. In response to Ironhide's warning, the Autobots sought out their leader, Optimus Prime. Infestation 2: The Transformers issue 1 The possessed populace united in a summoning call that brought the Elder Gods out of the depths of the ocean. Indeed, it had not seen the surface of the Earth since the Sun was young.

The spate of disappearing ships in the region prompted an international fleet to assemble and investigate. At the town, they battled the God's Decepticon servants, but found themselves helpless against the Elder God himself. Fortunately for all else involved, Optimus Prime attacked the Elder God so severely that it sank back to the abyss from whence it came, taking its fish people servants with it and releasing its hold on the minds of the humans and Transformers. Optimus Prime could not be certain it was dead, but promised to protect against it should it ever rise again. Infestation 2: The Transformers issue 2
