Rumble is a Decepticon in the Generation 1 continuity.

The label 'brat punk' isn't completely inaccurate. Rumble is your basic street punk. Small, but always acting tough as a cover. Quick tempered and of a generally mean disposition. He follows Megatron eagerly. Rumble has a tendency to toss out a taunting rhyme at his enemies and is, according to Brawn, a "jerk".

Also the Decepticon demolitions expert, Rumble loves nothing more than to break things apart. His arms transform into powerful piledrivers that, when pounded against the ground, can cause earthquakes, usually with fissures. He can be easily overpowered in a one-on-one match. The real challenge, however, is actually getting to him first.

In his cassette mode, he can stow away in Soundwave's chest compartment, and possibly has recording abilities as well.

Fiction
Generation 1 Cartoon
Voice Actor: Frank Welker (US), Keiichi Nanba (Japan-Red Cassette)

Rumble would usually make an appearance by leaping from Soundwave's chest as he transformed. Despite his small size (he was usually shown to be about the height of a tall human), he seemed to be on equal footing with most other Decepticons. No doubt this was due to his seismic power, which was used quite often (including once by Megatron when he had borrowed Rumble's power chip.

Assisted by his diminutive stature, Rumble was also responsible for stealing some of the cars that would later become the Stunticons.

Fairly prominent in Seasons One and Two, his apperances dwindled after the start of Season Three.

Rumble was effectively doubled by his bodytype-brother Frenzy. Both had identical voices, personalities and abilities, though Rumble appeared alone more often than not.

Marvel Generation 1 Comic
Rumble's acheivements in the comic amounted to not being able to see humans because they were too small, and getting his chassis handed to him by Omega Supreme. It took him a very long time to get better.

Trivia
*On the G1 TV series, Rumble was represented with the colours of Frenzy's toy - that is, dark and medium blue, rather than red and black (and vice versa). This led to some confusion (and later, controversy) amongst fans. (See RIBFIR.)

*In the Japanese dub, Rumble was the lesser-seen red Decepticon cassette; more accurately reflectinghis toy colors.

Powerglide is an Autobot in the Generation 1 continuity.

Powerglide, unlike most Autobots, can fly under his own power, and it goes straight to his pointy head. Give him any excuse and awaa-aa-aay he goes, dashing off into the stratosphere at 500 mph -- but not in a straight line. No, Powerglide is an aerial acrobat, able to perform stunts other Transformer planes would never dream of. Barrel rolls, tail stands, death spirals, screaming 3200-mph powerdives: none of these are too tough for this Autobot barnstormer, and if he has an audience, be they friendly or enemy, he is guaranteed to put on the air show of their lives.

Yet this seeming frivolity has saved his life countless times in combat. Powerglide is lightly armed with small concussion bombs and a nose-mounted thermal beam, and the former is practically useless in the air. Furthermore, his speed and power, impressive as they are, are vastly outclassed by most aerial Decepticons. Like the flying aces of World War I, Powerglide resorts to dogfighting maneuvers, using his flying skills to confuse and evade the enemy. This tactic works very well.

In fact, Powerglide's skill only aggravates his greatest weakness. He is good, and he knows it, and he misses no chance to show it. If this means he will seek out ever tougher foes to prove his mettle -- then he'll do that, even if it kills him. Some day, it might.

Powerglide was a brash barnstormer with a penchant for spouting gung-ho sayings like "And awaaa-aaa-aay we go!". For a time, he was somewhat smitten with the fleshling female Astoria Carlton-Ritz. They went on a date or two, but (fortunately) the only lasting result was a series of flashing lights under his chestplate in the form of a stylized heart. What purpose this served (other than being disturbing) is not immediately clear.

Marvel Comics continuity
Powerglide was a member of Perceptor's resistance cell on Cybertron, until their great raid on Darkmount, during which Powerglide was accidentally transported to Earth with his comrades. While on Cybertron, he transformed into a triangular aircraft with hovering ability and a hoisting winch, with enough lifting power to just barely pick up his fellow Autobot Blaster. Once on Earth, he changed this mode for a ground-attack jet similar in appearance to a Republic A10.
