:Astrotrain is a Decepticon in the Generation 1 continuity family.

Astrotrain loves to sow confusion. To this end, his Triple Changer abilities serve him well. Nothing pleases him more than confronting an Autobot in a dark corner and making him wonder if he's up against one Decepticon or two. He craves having this power over others. Single-minded, you may say, but when most of your time is spent transporting troops around, you have to take your jollies where you can.

He also craves having power over a massive army of train drones. Follow your dreams, Astrotrain. Follow your dreams.

:Voice actor: Jack Angel (US), Takurō Kitagawa (Japan)

With the help of Blitzwing, Astrotrain froze Megatron and Starscream in sewer system in order to take over the Decepticons. He then created an army of trains to help him rule, thinking it was a good idea. The productive day ended with him flooding the entire city, after bursting a water main. The embarrassment of these incidents forced him to creep back into the Decepticon ranks quietly. At gunpoint.

He also transported the Decepticons away after getting their aft-sections handed to them at Autobot City. He couldn't make it back to Cybertron with the amount of weight on board, so they tossed Some dead weight overboard.

Apparently, they all made it back okay.

Fight! Super Robot Lifeform: The Transformers manga
Astrotrain photographed the incomplete Autobot City, with the aid of Reflector's camera mode, allowing the Decepticons to build Trypticon from the stolen specs.

Marvel Comics continuity
Astrotrain shows up among a crowd of Decepticons all fired up to tackle the armies of Jhiaxus, just before they're pretty much slaughtered.

Dreamwave comics continuity
He isn't Quintessa.

IDW comics continuity
Astrotrain is part of a Decepticon insurgent cell that has operated covertly on Earth for at least four years, working to destabilize Earth's governing organizations and create global anarchy. He oversees the extraction and refinement of the mysterious, Energon-like substance, Ore-13, but despite having sampled its power, he is unwilling to stand alongside Starscream against Megatron.
Scrapper is the leader of the Constructicons. While the other Constructicons put their masterpieces together, Scrapper is the one who designs everything for them. His designs are among the best in Transformer history, however, Scrapper is a modest Decepticon who quickly shrugs off the praise he receives. In that respect he is the polar-opposite of his second in command, Hook, who is an egomaniacal glory-hound.

Though modest, Scrapper is still a total nutcase. One of his favorite artistic liberties with his designs involves taking living Autobots and using them as raw materials. This vicious act is something Megatron finds admirable, as he considers Scrapper the most valuable of the Constructicons.

Scrapper transforms into a payloader and, when combined with the other Constructicons, forms the right leg of the combiner, Devastator.

Dead End

:Dead End is a Decepticon and a Stunticon from the Generation 1 continuity family.

Dead End knows that his having an entry in some database somewhere hardly matters. The page will be vandalized. The computers will eventually fail. The data will be lost. The species that made it will go extinct. Their planet will become barren. The sun will die out. All suns will die out. The universe will implode again, or expand into nothingness, or be eaten by a giant evil space-god. So what's the point?

Despite this deep knowledge of the dark, inevitable pointlessness of existence, he spends an inordinate amount of time polishing and primping himself. This is something the other Decepticons are sure to tease him about whenever they get the chance, which only depresses him more. If you can actually motivate him to fight, he's a fearless warrior and actually cheers up a little, since trying to save his own life can momentarily distract him from how ultimately brief and pointless it is, the hard trick is getting him motivated in the first place, since in the end we're all doomed. Sigh.

Dead End combines with his fellow Stunticons to form Menasor, though he doesn't know why he bothers.
Dreamwave Comics continuity
At some point in Cybertron's recent history, the Stunticons were deemed psychotic and too dangerous to function in society, and as a result were placed into perpetual stasis lock inside of a prison facility. Later, in an attempt to create a diversion while he set his final plans in motion, Shockwave arranged for the release of the Stunticons. They formed into Menasor and ran amuck for awhile, until Ultra Magnus arrived and began insulting them. Unable to reconcile with this, the five Stunticons began to bicker with each other over whose fault it was that they were failing, temporarily stopping Menasor and allowing Ultra Magnus to ram the combiner in the chest, forcing him to separate into his component parts and disabling the Stunticons.

: The original Dead End toy transformed into a maroon Porsche 928. He comes with a black double-barreled laser cannon that attaches to the back of his vehicle mode.

: In robot mode, Dead End's legs transformers similarly to Breakdown's, flipping and inverting. He is armed with a small black laser pistol. As he was designed with the Scramble City-style combination, he can form the arm or leg to any similarly-constructed robot combination, though his nominal placement is as the left arm to Menasor.

Generation 2
*Dead End (Stunticon, 1995)

: Dead End and the other Stunticons were planned to be redecoed for Generation 2. However, the Stunticons --and their "rival" set the Protectobots-- were cancelled before they could go into full production. A handful of production samples were made, though less than a half-dozen of each limb are known to exist (with the obvious exception of the 1995 Breakdown, of course), and as such demand muy bucko on the secondary market.

Alternators
*Dead End (2004)

: Alternators Dead End transforms into a fully-painted black Dodge Viper Competition Coupe with silver stripes, red windows and headlights.

: In robot mode he transformers similarly to Alternators Side Swipe, and has Sunstreaker's head, as his tooling was originally designed as the latter Autobot. As a retool of Side Swipe, several of his parts are different, including the hood, wheels, roof, the entire rear end of the car, chest and head. He is armed with a vacuum-metalized silver gun formed out of his engine.

: The main difference between the US Alternators release of this toy and the Japanese Binaltech version is that the Binaltech version is constructed partially out of die-cast metal.
: In robot mode he is armed with a small purple laser pistol. Since he was designed with the Scramble City-style cobination, he can form the arm or leg to any similarly-constructed robot combination, though his nominal placement is as the right arm to Menasor.

: Drag Strip and the other Stunticons were planned to be redecoed for Generation 2; Drag Strip was to be mainly black with blue accents.
