Megatron reveals his ultimate plan to take on the Alternity!

Synopsis
Now joined by countless other iterations of himself, Optimus Prime fights to protect the Earth from the Beast of Time, Hytherion. Neither he nor his other selves are aware of the lurking form of Megatron's battleship waiting nearby in transwarp space. Watching the Alternity battle the creature, the Decepticon warlord reflects on the course of events that had brought him to this point.

A native of the same universe that birthed the Alternity, Megatron had fallen into stasis lock during the conflicts which led to the Timaeus Project. As a result, he was in a disabled state during the discovery of Alternium, and when he was eventually revived, the Decepticons were far behind the technological curve, dwarfed by the hyper-dimensional beings many of the Autobots had now become. Galled by the prospect of domination by the Autobots, Megatron retreated and set out on a journey which spanned several universes, researching the Alternity and meeting with alternate versions of himself who shared his ambitions. Eventually he learned of Hytherion, and his plan took shape.

Bringing his scheme to fruition, Megatron activates the chaotizer device within his battleship, which overwrites the higher functions of Hytherion with his own, enslaving the beast. To the forces of the Alternity planetside, it at first appears that the Origin Eater has been killed, but soon two cars nearby lurch to life and transform to robotic forms. Megatron reveals that luring Hytherion to Earth has all been a ruse to gain power equal to that of his hated enemies. He issues his challenge to the Alternity, stating that he will see the galaxy burn, in infinite variation, forever...

*The Megatron featured in this story is the Megatron native to the Binaltech universe, who was last seen in the 2007 story chapter, "Kill Switch". In that story, he was sent offline when Mirage pulled the Quintesson killswitch; the events following his reawakening some time later are covered in a flashback in this Alternity chapter.

*"To Mega Therion" and "Master Therion" are titles assumed by Aleister Crowley, according to Wikipedia's Therion disambiguation page. However, Crowley's own entry does not list these titles. "Therion" is Greek for "beast" while "mega" is "great", referencing to the Book of Revelations. Megatron's Timaeus Drive refers to one of the characters in Plato's dialogue Timaeus, on the nature of reality.
Optimus Prime is inducted into the Alternity to face a dire threat.

Synopsis
In universal stream of Primax 109.0 Beta in the year 2009, the Autobot forces are investigating a mystery: the appearance of large marks akin to the claws of a gargantuan beast on the most remote planets of Earth's solar system. Following the marks' appearance, a mysterious ring of light materializes in the skies above Vancouver, Washington, and the Autobots, led by Optimus Prime, arrive on the scene. As they watch, the ring resolves into a shape like a race track, with a silver sports car traveling along it. Optimus Prime commands the Autobots to stand down, revealing that this strange visitor is, in fact, another Optimus Prime from a parallel dimension.

Prime reveals this other-dimensional incarnation of himself visited this world once before, two years prior, to deliver a warning: In 2009, their eternal enemy, Megatron, would summon the monstrous "beast of time," Hytherion, to this world. The only thing that would be able to stop the power of Hytherion would be the Alternity, an incredible race of hyperdimensional beings to which the parallel Optimus belonged. This world's Prime agreed that when the threat of Hytherion appeared, he would join the Alternity and take up the fight.

Now that promised time has come. A portal opens at the heart of the "racetrack", and from it, a vibrant red body emerges. Prime fuses with the body and is absorbed into the Alternity, being reformatted into a form resembling the silver frame of the parallel Prime. His perceptions expanded beyond mere three-dimensional space, Prime looks to the heavens, where the terrifying image of Hytherion's fangs covering the sky is now visible to him!
Notes
*Although this story takes place in a separate timeline (or universal stream, to use the in-story parlance), much of the backstory for the Alternity franchise originates with the later stages of the Binaltech storyline. The existence of the Alternity was first revealed in the 2007 story chapter "Binal Time"; the substance of their being, Alternium, was introduced in 2008's "Unfinished Business," parts three and four, which also introduced the racetrack-like teleportation system seen in this story, the Timaeus drive. Only with the release of "From Here to Alternity" did we truly learn what the Alternity was. Subsequent Alternity chapters would later draw further connections between the world seen in this storyline and the Binaltech universe.

*The other-dimensional Optimus Prime who appears in this story is the Optimus Prime from the Binaltech universe, which is to say, a divergent version of the incarnation of the character from the Generation 1 cartoon.

*"From Here to Alternity" is the first piece of fiction outside of the stories associated with the Transformers Collectors' Club to use the universal stream classification system created by Greg Sepelak and Trent Troop for the stories they have produced for the club.

*The title of this story is a reference to the 1953 James Jones novel, "From Here to Eternity"
The Autobots fight to defend Detroit from Megatron and his clones of Omega Supreme.

Synopsis
Outside the plant, the Autobots observe the Lugnut Supremes hovering above Detroit. Bumblebee wonders what they are, and Ratchet assumes that Megatron repurposed Starscream's cloning technology to make clones of Omega Supreme. Aboard the main Lugnut Supreme, Megatron decides to start the field test with Sumdac Tower. Lugnut pontificates on the greatness of Megatron rather than getting it done, leading the annoyed Decepticon leader to ask Shockwave if he can control the clones directly yet. However, Shockwave is still working on finding the necessary security patches from Arcee's memory banks, and tells Megatron in an amused tone that he'll have to filter all orders for the clones through Lugnut.

In Detroit, the Lugnuts turn and open fire on Sumdac Tower. Fortunately, the force field goes up and protects the building. Unfortunately, it will only last for so long. Ratchet says that they need to launch an aerial assault with the Magnus Hammer, but Optimus Prime is a little unsure. Prowl then reinforces his leader's faltering confidence by promising to accompany him. Sari then offers to join them, and cuts off Optimus's "No, Sari—" with a rant about how she's always being told it's "too dangerous" for her to help, leaving her embarrassed when Prime says he was going to tell her to help protect the humans. He orders the others to help Sari in this, while he and Prowl take to the skies. Megatron initially assumes that the figure bearing the Magnus Hammer is Ultra Magnus himself, and is quite relieved when he sees it's only Optimus. The two airborne Autobots manage to avoid the missiles sent in their direction, but Prime's opening shot with the Magnus Hammer misses the Lugnuts. Ratchet says that he's receiving Omega's signal from the moon, and suggests they transwarp to the moon and sever Megatron's connection. Optimus approves, and orders him to take Bumblebee and Bulkhead with him. Prowl says that they need to bring the Lugnuts down all at once, and Optimus uses the Magnus Hammer to cause a tornado which sends the Lugnuts crashing toward Dinobot Island. Megatron, livid, tells Lugnut to abort the field test, but Lugnut is forced to inform him that Prime's attack managed to damage the one Megatron was in and disable the flight mechanisms of the other two. Furious, Megatron tells him to have the clones destroy everything except Megatron himself, then leaves his clone and assumes his flight mode, intending to take a more direct role.

At Sumdac Tower, Ratchet fires up the space bridge, ready to take Bumblebee and Bulkhead to retrieve Arcee and Omega Supreme. Sari decides to go with them, telling Isaac Sumdac that she needs to go. Transforming to her full robot mode, she jumps through the portal with the Autobots. On the moon, Starscream reassembles himself and immediately takes off for Earth, saying he has a surprise for Megatron. The Autobots transwarp in mere moments after he leaves, as Sari is momentarily stunned just by being on the Moon, while the Autobots are more surprised by the lack of Decepticons around. Over by Omega Supreme, Ratchet sees Arcee and runs to her. Unfortunately, she's reverted to her fugue Teacher Bot state. Worse, she's bait: Shockwave fires at them, barely missing them. Bumblebee and Bulkhead take on Shockwave, while Ratchet and Sari take Arcee inside Omega Supreme. Both bots are taken down, but Bulkhead manages to recover and charge Shockwave, knocking off his cannon. Shockwave briefly assumes his Longarm form and pleads for mercy, but Bulkhead destroys his cannon with his wrecking ball. Inside Omega Supreme, Ratchet discovers the damage to Arcee's processor is quite extensive, and any attempts to repair her could take her offline. Sari scans the malfunctioning intelbot and gives Ratchet instructions on how to use his EMP generator to restore her memory from her internal backups.

Over Detroit, Prime orders Prowl to break off from their fight with Megatron, find Jazz and try to slow the clones down. As he grapples with the Decepticon leader, he snaps and loudly declares his name after being patronisingly called "Autobot" by Megatron yet again.

In Omega Supreme, Ratchet manages to bring Arcee fully online, her memory back at the time it was when Lockdown captured them. Ratchet promises that they'll catch up in time, but right now they need her activation codes to retake control of Omega Supreme. Bumblebee and Bulkhead enter and say they've found something Sari needs to see.

Back on Earth, on the ground, Prowl and Jazz try to get inside the Lugnut Supremes, but their armor is too strong to cut through, and Jazz radios Prime with news of their failure. Optimus tells them that the only thing powerful enough to shield the city is the AllSpark, but it's scattered everywhere. In return, flushed by his recent success in reconstituting a fragment, Prowl theorizes that they can use processor-over-matter to make the AllSpark whole again. Prime is doubtful, but Prowl is adamant, and flies his fellow ninjabot to Sumdac Tower.

As Ratchet and Arcee make their way to Omega Supreme's head, Sari is brought before the protoforms, and—believing this to be where she came from—gets a moment of closure from the experience. Outside, Ratchet uses his magnets to keep Arcee above Omega's face and the fembot uploads the codes, severing Lugnut's control over him. Omega Supreme ejects the massive Decepticon and heads for Earth once Sari and all the Autobots are aboard, with the three remaining protoforms.

On Earth, with Lugnut no longer guiding them, the clones briefly shut down... then reactivate with Starscream's face. The treacherous Decepticon tells Megatron that he planted bombs in the clones, aiming to destroy him and everything within a hundred-mile radius. Unable to remove the bombs inside, Megatron decides to instead destroy Optimus Prime, using the Autobot captain's name for the very first time. At Sumdac Tower, the force field fails much to Isaac Sumdac's distress, and Prowl and Jazz direct him to the building's bomb shelter, before they begin using processor-over-matter to collecting AllSpark fragments. Starscream arrives to observe the death of Megatron, but his AllSpark fragment suddenly begins pulling him toward the AllSpark being formed by Jazz and Prowl. Starscream panics and tries to destroy the two ninja-bots, but his AllSpark fragment is pulled from his head, and Starscream falls to the street, dead.

Omega Supreme arrives and begins fighting the two clones. He is able to defeat one and disarm its bomb, but the other knocks him aside and forces him back to ship mode. At Sumdac Tower, Jazz says that they don't have enough Spark to shield the city, but neither he nor Prowl can pull in any more AllSpark fragments. Prowl recognizes that there is one other way to make the AllSpark chunk powerful enough, and levitates towards it. Jazz recognizes what he intends to do, and screams that they can find another way, but Prowl merely turns to give him a reassuring smile. Suddenly, the AllSpark releases a surge of energy, and Prowl falls back to the ground. Jazz catches his body, but it is too late: Prowl is dead. A field soon forms around the remaining clone, but Megatron and Optimus Prime are trapped within it. Megatron gloats that he will take Optimus with him, but a figure of light in Prowl's image removes Optimus from the force field. Megatron roars in anger as the clone detonates, and everything goes white...

Waking up, Optimus sees his fellow bots around him. They declare that they won, and begin to celebrate... until Jazz comes carrying Prowl's shell, revealing that the ninja-bot merged his spark with the AllSpark to give them it the necessary energy. Optimus moves toward his fallen comrade, but is instead knocked backwards by a purple blast. Megatron still functions! Ratchet uses his magnets to throw the Magnus Hammer to Optimus. In a rage, Optimus beats Megatron down. Lying helpless, Megatron urges Optimus to finish him, and Optimus brings the Magnus Hammer down...on Megatron's fusion cannon. Optimus says that killing Megatron is the easy way out, and the Decepticon leader doesn't deserve that. Instead, he places stasis cuffs on him.

On Cybertron, the Autobots return is hailed by a cheering crowd (except for Sentinel Prime, who glowers), with Optimus carrying the Magnus Hammer, the large piece of the AllSpark around his neck, and Ratchet, Bumblebee, Bulkhead, and Jazz bearing Prowl's body. In addition, they bring with them the three rescued protoforms, and Megatron, Lugnut, and Shockwave as prisoners. Finally, to top it off, Omega Supreme transforms from ship mode, and this sends the crowd into another round of cheering, hailing Optimus Prime and his crew as the heroes they have proven themselves to be.
Quotes
Megatron: Lugnut, let's begin this field test with Sumdac Tower. I want to see my former prison crumble to the ground.<br>
Lugnut: As you command, oh great and glorious Megatron! Your genius exceeds all others! And I am but your humble and obedient servant! Furthermore—<br>
Megatron: Shockwave! Is there anyway to bypass this endless pontificating and command these clones directly?<br>
Shockwave: Still working on the data patch, my liege. Until then, you'll just have to relay all. Orders. Through. Lugnut.
:—Megatron desperately seeks to cut out the middleman, while Shockwave demonstrates how to smirk without a face.

Sari: I'm going too! I have a jetpack.<br>
Optimus: No, Sari, it's—<br>
Sari: Yeah, yeah, yeah, it's "too dangerous", I know. It's always "too dangerous"!<br>
Optimus: I was going to say, "It's more important for you to protect your father and your fellow organics."<br>
Sari: Oh. Right. Sorry.
:—Sari isn't used to being treated as an equal.

Megatron: Lugnut, this field test has been a complete failure! Order the other clones back to the Moon immediately!<br>
Lugnut: Forgive me, oh Great One, but their flight capabilities are disabled.<br>
Megatron: Then destroy the Autobots. Destroy the city. Destroy anything that's not me!
:—Megatron may have finally gone off the deep-end. And it shows, too.

"Get away from my weapons of mass destruction."<br>
:—Megatron, apparently about to send Optimus Prime to bed without his supper.

Shockwave: (changes to Longarm) G-guys...buddies...you...wouldn't want to take out your old platoon mate Longarm, would you?<br>
Bumblebee: No...of course we wouldn't.<br>
Bulkhead: Oh, not in a million stellar cycles, pal.<br>
(smashes Shockwave's arm cannon)
:—Not all Autobots are that gullible, Shockwave. Thanks for playing, though.

Ratchet: Those Deceptiscums fried her processor trying to remove the activation code...but if I tried to rewire her circuitry, it could take her offline for good.<br>
Sari: (touches Arcee on the knee) You need to recalibrate your EMP generator into a data recovery tool. Then you can salvage Arcee's secondary memory storage from her hard drive, bypassing her corrupted input/output systems.<br>
Ratchet: I suppose us...machines just told you that?<br>
Sari: Pretty much.
:—In case you didn't get that, Sari has just solved in five seconds what Cybertron's greatest minds couldn't for millions of years. Wait. WHAT?!

"You're a persistent little Autobot."<br>
"My name is OPTIMUS PRIME!"
:—Megatron and Optimus Prime

(After Omega Supreme boots Lugnut out of himself, the Lugnut Supreme clones cease functioning)<br>
"Lugnut? Attack! Your glorious leader commands you!"<br>
:—Lugnut's key praise is so endearing, it even has Megatron saying it out loud...at the worst possible time.

"If I cannot save my clones, at least I'll have the satisfaction of destroying you, Optimus Prime."<br>
"So, you can remember my name!"
:—Took you long enough, Megatron.

"What are you waiting for, Autobot? Finish me." (Optimus raises the Magnus Hammer and smashes Megatron's cannon)<br>
"That would be the easy way out, Megatron. You don't deserve it."
:-Optimus finally gives Megatron exactly what he deserves.

Notes
Animation or technical errors
* When Omega Supreme runs towards one of the Lugnut Supremes, the clone has a purple Autobot symbol on its midsection as it gets up.

* Megatron's helicopter cockpit kibble (usually seen behind his head on his back) briefly vanishes for a second as he kicks Optimus Prime towards the AllSpark-powered force field.

* Just as Bulkhead punches Shockwave, for a split second, Shockwave's colors are those of his Autobot counterpart, Longarm (with the noticeable teal coloring on his chassis).

* Prowl's ghost appears with his armour on, but when it reaches out to save Optimus, the armour has vanished.

* When Megatron makes one last attempt to destroy Optimus Prime, his right shoulder guard is drawn rather small. As he's knocked down to Earth and insists Optimus finishes him, it reverts back to its proper size.

* Quite a number of animation errors can be seen immediately after Optimus Prime stasis cuffs Megatron (right before a kneeling Omega Supreme gets up.) The Magnus Hammer has disappeared, Prowl's body is drawn like a boxy black mannequin in Jazz's arms with very little detail, Jazz himself (as well as Bulkhead) are missing their Autobot insignias, Bumblebee appears rather tiny compared to the other Autobots, and Sari appears to be either hovering off of the ground or standing on Bulkhead's foot. Oh, and Arcee is missing from the shot as well. Dandy.

*When Optimus Prime first disembarks from Omega Supreme at the end of the episode, he is shown to be almost as tall as Megatron and Lugnut, who, by all rights, should be towering over him in height. They are drawn at their proper scale once they stand before the cheering crowd, though.

*When the Autobots hold up Prowl's coffin before the cheering crowd (as seen in the picture on this page), Prowl's body is drawn rather short. If one compared the height of his body to Bumblebee at his left, Bumblebee would actually be a head taller.

*After Bulkhead knocks over Shockwave and he converts into Longarm, Shockwave's cannon is on the ground behind Longarm, yet when we see Longarm from the back he has the crane piece attached to his back. Whoops.

* The Magnus Hammer's handle again changes length from shot to shot.

Continuity errors
*Due to the incomplete activation code, the Lugnut Supremes only worked when Lugnut consciously directed them from Omega Supreme. Yet after Omega tossed him out, not only did Starscream take them over, they continued to function autonomously after he was dead.

Transformers references
*At the very end, Optimus Prime is shown with the large piece of AllSpark which Jazz and Prowl pulled together, in a container strongly resembling the Matrix of Leadership—and he's wearing it on a chain around his neck.

*Even at this late stage, a new face still appears in the crowd scene on Cybertron: Hubcap. Dai Atlas and Sky Garry make their first in-person appearances (though Dai Atlas only appears from behind), and the unnamed, orange female robot, whose arm could juuuuuust be seen poking in from offscreen back in "Decepticon Air", also gets to appear in full. The crowd also includes a crazy amount of miscolored-slash-generic robots, including such gems as a Hot Shot-colored robot wearing the 65356-9292-346 body type, a blue-and-green Sky Garry and a yellow Warpath.

* Yoketron's dying words in "Five Servos of Doom" (where he tells Prowl that he will understand when his time comes) finally come to pass.

After some bantering, "Santa" reveals himself to be actually Udo! He later gets conned into drinking a suspiciously-looking green health drink and reacts badly to it comically. The segment closes with a photo of the family and Udo holding flower bouquets - in Japan, it's tradition to give flower bouquets to major staff and cast members after a production is wrapped up, be it a movie, TV series, or a music video.
* Optimus thanks the audience for watching and promises that they'll meet again one day.
Trivia
*Shockwave transforms into a purple Longarm. Maybe he was just confused or something.
*Jazz states that they can't find all the AllSpark fragments; at the very least, this makes sense because Skywarp, Thundercracker, Sunstorm, and Ramjet aren't on Earth anymore. There is no indication that any other Earthbound characters animated by AllSpark fragments were defragmented and killed like Starscream, and they don't seem to be kept alive the same way he is. At 2009, the writers revealed that they had intended to show Wreck-Gar and at least one of the Constructicons to confirm their survival, but that this scene was cut for time.
*This is the first episode since "Megatron Rising - Part 2" to feature Prime's faceplate.
*Shockwave claimed in "This Is Why I Hate Machines" that using Omega Supreme's original activation codes on him once more would wipe his memories, morals and personality, allowing a new mentor-con to turn him into a model Decepticon—a fact which Ratchet and Perceptor apparently both agreed was true. Since Arcee uses the codes on Omega in this episode, did this cause a reset to factory settings? If not, why not? Could it perhaps have something to do with that patch they were talking about?
*There seems to be a scene missing involving Lugnut - when Omega Supreme discards him onto the lunar surface and flies to Earth, he is neither captured nor incapacitated, and it's been shown repeatedly that Decepticons (including Starscream in this episode and Lugnut himself in "Lost and Found") are capable of making at least the Moon-Earth trip under their own power, where Slipstream has apparently evaded detection for the whole of S3. His off-screen capture is therefore noteworthy.
*Arcee didn't join the other Autobots on their victory/funeral parade at the end.
*It is revealed during the events of this episode, that while in her robot mode, Sari doesn't need an external oxygen supply.
*As of this episode, there's a lot of remaining uncaptured Decepticons!
**Thundercracker and Skywarp are still floating out somewhere in space.
**Blackarachnia and a bleeding, shattered Waspinator are still in that mysterious jungle, precise whereabouts (and even whenabouts) unknown.
**Laserbeak fled the scene with the sentient part of Soundwave in "Human Error, Part II".
**Scrapper's whereabouts are presumably still known to the Autobots; he may have returned to Dinobot Island with Snarl after "Human Error".
**Swindle leaves for parts unknown in "Decepticon Air". Although he did mention something about retiring to an island on Nebulos (where the energon is as smooth as a protoform's bottom).
**Lockdown, Slipstream, Team Chaar and any unseen Decepticons all remain at large.
**There are a lot more Decepticons at large and on the loose than the main cast, as shown in Dispatches, where a large group of unamed Generic Decepticons are present at Megatron's funeral as Blitzwing rambles on like a madman.
*Several other plot points have yet to have been resolved by the end of this episode:
**Sari's origin has yet to be completely explained. It still hasn't been revealed how or why a protoform showed up on Earth years ago, or why it looked so different compared to other protoforms seen during the course of the series. Since it has been shown that all the protoforms Lockdown stole were blanks, it's unlikely she came from that batch.
**Meltdown was last shown apparently reconstituting himself at the end of "Black Friday", and has not been seen since.
**Wreck-Gar and all three Dinobots are not present at the end of the episode, and presumably are still on Earth. Although it could be speculated that they stayed there by choice, one must wonder what kind of measures that Optimus and company took to prevent said bots from any more disastrous encounters with the populace of Earth.
**Ultra Magnus was last seen being repaired, but his fate isn't revealed in-show. The Allspark Almanac confirms he died.
** Blurr was last seen crushed into a cube and tossed into an incinerator. We don't see him get incinerated, though we also don't see any evidence he survived being cubified.
*Slipstream was originally intended to have a small role in this episode, in which she would resurrect Starscream after the Autobots left Earth. This scene was ultimately cut for time.
*This is the final episode to feature Optimus, Bumblebee, Megatron, Starscream, Prowl and every other character in the series. We remind you so we may see you weep...we hate to cry alone. But... there is hope. IDW might continue the series in comic form. Join us as we get down on our hands and knees and beg IDW to do this for us.

Beast Wars
* Optimus Primal vs Megatron! (Basic versus two-pack, 1996)
**Japanese ID number: C-6
**Accessories: Two swords
:The first Optimus Primal was a Basic size class blue bat which could autotransform into a robot by pulling the tail. Two swords were removable from under its wings for use as weaponry in robot mode. It was packaged along with an alligator version of Megatron and a Beast Wars mini-comic.

:Whether this toy can be considered the Optimus Primal character is a matter of debate. Released before the animated series began, which established Optimus Primal as a separate entity from Optimus Prime, the accompanying profiles and mini-comic seem to assume that the Beast Wars are a progression of the same characters from the Autobot/Decepticon war. Whether the animated series's retcon affected this set of toys is probably a matter of personal preference. It can be interpreted as representing one of the more interesting micro-continuities.

:The Beast Wars Sourcebook has asserted that, in IDW's version of the Beast Wars continuity, Primal's bat form was suggested by the Axalons computer as a potential alt-mode, but he rejected it in favour of the more powerful gorilla without ever actually reformatting into it. Thus, this micro-continuity posits bat-mode Primal as an essentially theoretical alt-form that never actually came to be.

:This mold was also used to make the Optimus Prime-recolored Convobat (who may or may not be a separate character to either Prime or Primal), and Onyx Primal.

* Optimus Primal (Ultra, 1996/1997/1998)
**Japanese ID number: C-1
**Accessories: Two swords, four missiles, flail
: The second Optimus Primal toy was an ape in the Ultra size class. Though the transformation from primate to humanoid was a relatively simplistic one, the toy compensated with more than a fair share of weaponry and action features. A compartment on his right forearm opened to reveal a skull-shaped mace he could hold in his fist. His left forearm could open into a double-barreled missile launcher. On his back were two spring-loaded missile launchers which auto-flipped over each shoulder. By pulling a lever in the center of his back, both arms would either spin at the bicep or bend in and out at the elbow, depending on the placement of notch-buttons located on either bicep. This gimmick was shown to be an effort to simulate a gorilla beating its chest while Optimus was in beast mode, but could also be used in robot mode, making him swing his weapons wildly before himself. And finally, like many first-year Beast Wars toys, a battle mask/"mutant head" could be deployed over his robot head.

:

:Takara released the toy as part of their Beast Wars line in July of 1997, nearly identical to the Hasbro version. The missiles for the Takara version are thinner and simpler than the original Hasbro version, and would be used in all subsequent releases of the mold.

:This mold was redecoed into Universe Optimus Primal and Beast Wars Telemocha DX Convoy, and retooled into Beast Wars Reborn/Beast Wars Tenth Anniversary versus pack Optimus Primal. Takara also created multiple special variants, including all-gold (from Tele-V Magazine, only ten awarded), red and gray (Tele-V again, but only one awarded), and blue-fur (a Comics Bom Bom design-contest prize, only five awarded).
Huh? And Megatron has the "D-ROM"? See what they did there?

: Just what character this toy represents is up for debate. The toy's bio claims he used to turn into a tractor-trailer (indicating Optimus Prime), but considering the timeframe of when they were written and the whole lack of a stance on who Primal "was" before the show and bla bla bla... it's just easier to file this under the same iffiness as the original toy bios set on modern Earth and leave it at that.
: Transmetal Optimus Primal is a mechanical gorilla that transforms into a partially organic robot. Like all Transmetals, it featured chromed plastic and a third vehicle-inspired mode. In Primal's case, his gorilla mode could transform into a gorilla on a hoverboard. Two maces were stored on his back and could double as missiles for his hip-holstered blaster.

: Takara's version of the toy exchanged the brown plastic for translucent maroon, he also featured additional paint on his waist and different eye color among other changes. The figure was also available in a set with Transmetal Megatron.
: Transmetal Optimal Optimus was the first toy in the Super size class, featuring electronics and four transformations: robot, ape, jet, and armored transport. When a back section of the cannon module was pulled, the eyes and shoulder-mounted missile launchers lit up and the launchers fired. It came with four missiles, two of which stored on its legs. Its forearms featured blast-away armor plates that could also be pegged to its upper arms.

:Optimal Optimus's on-package bio states that he has Cybertronian "air guardian" technology and twin scramjet modules. Jetfire's function was Air Guardian, and his Tech Specs said he had these same scramjet modules.
His right robot-mode arm is spring-loaded to throw the shuriken that stores in his left leg (the ape mode's left shoulder). Like all Beast Machines toys, he has a hidden "spark crystal" that displays his faction allegiance; Primal's is in his chest, revealed with the spring-loaded "flexing" motion that also moves his beast-mode face up for snarling while posing. *Optimus Primal (Happy Meal toy, 2000)
: McDonald's Beast Machines Optimus Primal is an incredibly simple toy that transforms from a technorganic robot to technorganic ape. Its sculpted detail is based directly that of the television show's model for Primal. It uses translucent plastic for the body, and, like the other McDonald's Beast Machines toys, there's a sculpted spark crystal on the toy's surface; on Optimus Primal, it is placed on the stomach. Additionally, there are two organic flaps on the toy's back, and in robot mode, nobody's entirely sure exactly what to do with them. Are they rotated all the way down to make his booster jets? Are they rotated out to the sides to make the backs of his shoulder pads? :One of the last toys released in the Beast Machines line (under the "Battle for the Spark" rebranding), "Blast Punch" Optimus Primal transforms into a technorganic gorilla more like the show model, though with a considerably brighter color scheme. His main gimmick is his left arm, which contains a hidden missile launcher.Pushing down on his shoulder armor "winds" the mechanism in his gauntlet. Pushing the spark crystal on his bicep spins his gauntlet around, simultaneously triggering the spring-loaded missile launcher and activating his spring-loaded ramming "blast punch" action, extending his fist forward nearly a full inch. He also has hidden jet thrusters under a panel on his back. In beast mode, a small button on the top of his head pushes his upper face up in a "snarling" action.
* Air Attack Optimus Primal (Supreme, 2002)
:Intended for release in the Beast Machines toyline, Air Attack Optimus Primal was eventually released as a Toys "R" Us exclusive as part of the Robots in Disguise toyline. Positively oozing light-and-sound gimmicks in both modes, Optimus Primal does all sorts'a crazy crap, all of which is first activated by pressing his chest plate. Doing so "turns on" his electronics with a metallic shrieking noise, and the toy proceeds to hum constantly while the chest glows with a red LED. The electronics will eventually "turn off" if the toy is left idle, but you don't want to do that! You want to push his head (in either mode), which activates glowing lights in his eyes and actual speech samples of Garry Chalk from the Beast Machines cartoon (making Primal the first English-speaking Transformers toy to have speech clips performed by his actual cartoon voice actor). On top of that, the toy also features a pressure-launching disc-shooter in its robot-mode stomach (accompanied by blasting sound effect), and a geared right arm with a spring-loaded punch action (and suitably pained electronic grunt). The big feature—the one that gives the toy its name—is his jetpack, which pops out (with translucent blue jet flames trailing behind) at the push of a button. This puts the toy into "flight mode", and it constantly produces the sound of whooshing jets, which then rises and falls depending on how the figure is held. Tilt him upwards, and the pitch rises as he ascends! Tilt him down, and zoom!

**Accessories: Two swords, sword connector, missile launcher, missile

:Primarily based upon the original Ultra-class Optimus Primal figure, Robot Masters Beast Convoy uses a new, a more show accurate mold, while using the original Ultra-class toy's color scheme.

:The mouthplate featured an engraved mouth, although it is painted silver like the rest of the face, and lacks the Mutant Head from the original figure.

:Both forearms contain small, non-firing cannons in them (and thus a skull mace is not included), which can be revealed by flipping up the panels on his arms. Similarly, the missile launchers from the Ultra-class version of the toy have been replaced by non-firing cannons based more closely on the ones from the TV show.

:Beast Convoy features new, open-palmed hands, thus preventing him from holding both of his swords in the same hand, but a small connector-piece is included to connect the swords together, allowing Beast Convoy to hold the lower sword with the upper sword connected.

:Like Beast Megatron and G1 Convoy, Beast Convoy comes with a generic, blue plastic missile launcher which can fit in his palm.
**Accessories: Surfboard, assault blade, missile, Jungle Planet Key
: Beast Wars 10th Anniversary (BWX) Optimus Primal is a new toy design based loosely on his original ultra ape action figure and pulling some elements from other figures, including a transformation very similar to the Playskool Go-Bot Gorillabot, which itself was a nod to Optimus Primal's Beast Machines form. Similar to his Transmetal form, BWX Optimus Primal also comes with a hoverboard that fires a missile when a Cyber Planet Key is inserted.

:

: The board also features a spring-loaded extending "assault blade" (or "ass lt blade" as the directions call it). Though it is not intended to be removed, the blade can be popped off and held in Primal's hand thanks to his posable thumbs.

: He is also packaged with a mini-comic-sized reprinting of IDW Publishing's The Gathering #1, a small Axalon ship figurine, and a Jungle Planet style Cyber Planet Key without a Cyber Key Code stamped on it.

:This mold was redecoed and released as Cybertron Optimus Prime. The sculpt for both BWX leader toys were intentionally designed to blend in with the Jungle Planet aesthetic, "in case" they didn't get a Beast Wars Anniversary release (according to Aaron Archer's statements at 2005).
* Battle Convoy (Reissue, 2006)
**Japanese ID number: TRF-13
**Accessories: Laser rifle, sword, 5 discs, 3 air power missiles, ripple rocket launcher, 10 rockets

: In 1993, Laser Optimus Prime was a new-mold Generation 2 toy that transformed into mid-1990s Western Star 4964EX, pulling a grey and black fuel tank trailer. On the sides of the trailer is a humourous sticker depicting Laser Optimus Prime using a flamethrower to burn down a forest, with the words "Optimus Prime Octane" over the image.

:In robot mode, like Combat Hero Prime, the bottom of the truck became his familiar windowed chest based upon the original Optimus Prime toy. His main gimmick was light up LED headlights, and a lightpipe in the bottom of his right fist, illuminated by an LED in his right forearm, that would illuminate his clear sword or his double-barreled rifle if they were used in that hand. All three LEDs were activated simultaneously by pressing the sunroof-like depression on the roof of the truck.

:The trailer unfolds to form a battle station bristling with many firing weapons. Primarily, it can fire an air-powered missile launcher, a ripple rocket launcher with 5 missiles that can be launched individually (this turret can also be mounted in Laser Prime's hand) and a 'disc launcher', that fired several blue plastic discs adorned with the Generation 2 Autobot sigil. This disc launcher is the only weapon that can be used in vehicle mode.

:This mold was redecoed in 2000 as Car Robots Black Convoy, and slightly retooled as Scourge. After Scourge, the next use of this mold was planned to be Toxitron, which ended up being canceled. The slightly retooled version of this mold was released in 2006 in Japan as reissue Battle Convoy, which was the name of this toy during the Japanese Generation 2. The reissue used the Robots in Disguise modified tooling, with a slightly modified deco using silver vacuum-metalized plastic on his chest and trailer sides along with additional paint applications and G2 symbols. The mold was also redecoed to create a new G2 version of Ultra Magnus as an E-Hobby exclusive (unusual in that the character was killed in the course of Japan's G1 fiction).

:Within the Beast Wars Reborn text story, the reissued Laser Prime toy was repurposed as a temporary form for Optimus Primal.

: Black Convoy is the first Binaltech release since Skids in early 2006, and was available exclusively in Japan at the winter Wonder Festival in 2007. His plastic colours are different from Nemesis Prime's, with grey plastic replacing the black on his shins, waist, shoulders and forearms. In addition, Nemesis Prime's windows are tinted red, but Black Convoy's windows are completely clear. His paint deco is based upon Kiss Players Convoy's, arranged in the same patterns but using teal, and he has vacuum-metallized wheels and front grill. The paint deco on his head is meant to evoke that of Car Robots Black Convoy. Perhaps the most important differences are that he has die-cast metal parts, and most of his truck body panels are coated in gloss black paint.

: Perhaps due to cost-cutting, this toy was released in the large bubble-on-a-tray packaging also used in the Alternators line. However, he came with no character or packaging art.
Movie Jolt vs Movie Jolt
Sorry if the post about Jolt not being confused with the previously released Jolt wasn't a good one... Just thought it was sort of a unique case that should be addressed, what with there being two movie Jolts, and unlike the 2007 one which didn't appear in any movies and has since been changed to a different character, also not appearing in the movies, the new Jolt is in the movie. I know that's what disambiguation is for, but I just thought it was an interesting bit of trivia that a movie character's name was already used in the movieverse, though for a different character. (not including the whole movie Arcee thing) -Cliffjumper Prime

Megatron joke
The monsters in MMPR always started out human-sized. Then, at some point, Rita throws her staff down from the Moon shouting "Make my monster grow!". The staff lands in the ground and energy shoots out of it, making the monster enormous. The laser effects around Megatron's cannon in that picture look a lot like the staff. Here is a YouTube clip of it: . Honestly, it's not a big deal to me, but the old joke doesn't really make any sense in the first place. It seems to be a premature ejaculation joke to go along with his cannon firing, but it's not like there's anybody else in the picture for the innuendo to be complete. I think the observation our anonymous editor made about the resemblance to the staff is actually pretty clever. A rare instance of somebody changing a joke for the better, IMO. --Steve-o 16:20, 21 August 2007 (UTC)
:Huzzah! I have a talk page now! Anyway, thanks for clearing it up... I didn't get the ressemblance of Bandora's staff to the laser blast effects of Megatron's cannons... == Airazor caption ==

Hi. I was wondering what was wrong with the old caption for the Airazor photo.
:Essentially, there's nothing wrong with the toy so criticizing it like that is pointless. --Detour 08:29, 17 May 2008 (UTC)
::Okay. I didn't think the caption was meant as a criticism of the toy. I thought it was meant to point out that though she was designed as a female figure, she didn't really turn out looking any more female than any other Transformer (excluding Arcee and Thunderblast). But humor is subjective, and what I find somewhat funny might not seem funny at all to someone else.
:::Airazor was designed as a male figure. The toy/character only became female on the insistence of the show writers. --Monzo 09:15, 17 May 2008 (UTC)
Blurr
He is known to be a member, which should be enough, but he is also known to appear again later in the season, both through the footage from Dubai and the teasers released on the blog. That's why I said that I believed that it ws exception enough if he wasn't a member, it wouldn't need to be moved, but both together seem to be compelling enough.KrytenKoro 16:56, 18 May 2008 (UTC)
:Look at your talk page, anything Dubai-related should not be discussed here in any capacity. ::That's great, but that's not what I am trying to say. He was announced as a character a while ago, before Dubai, and on one of the creator blogs. He's known to be in the Elite Guard, and we even know who his American voice actor is. We've even had him make his first appearance. Dubai just confirmed an episode he reappears in. That's all I'm trying to say - that we know he's in the guard, and we have confirmation from various sources of a future appearance. Hell, that we've listed his voice actor should be confirmation enough.
::And I didn't make the edit to spread spoilers - I did it to add info to a wiki, when the info is confirmed. Yes, we should not be obsessed with news, but neither should we put blinders on and wait until info is months or years old. == Rabbicrater Edits ==

Just FYI, the edits HooperX made were capitalizing on the fact that Rabbicrater looks like his name contains the word "rabbi", when in fact it's meant to be most of the word "rabbit". The caption gag of "L'chaim" thus becomes more obvious, though I like the current one better. As for the miscellaneous trivia, I think it's an attempt at a callback to one of the final scenes from the Mel Brooks film History of the World, Part 1. So not TOTAL nonsense.--Apcog 14:16, 19 May 2008 (UTC)
:Oh, well I don't know much about Judaism so "L'chaim" is kind of flying over my head right now (and I believe even if explained, the Yaoi Kiss Players joke will still be funnier)... And the misc trivia, well History Of The World Part 1 is one of the Mel Brooks films I have not yet had the pleasure of watching... Even then, it's kind of out of place in the same paragraph as the info about the rabbit on the moon... if Hooper wants to bring it back I would suggest he add another asterisk paragraph to point it out... --Detour 15:11, 19 May 2008 (UTC)
::Long story short, a robot with the word "Rabbi" in his name, even if it actually has to do with "rabbit" is ripe for Judaism gags. "L'Chaim!" is a traditional exclamation of celebration. Originally, I was just gonna put the lyrics to Hava Nagila up there, but hey. The Kiss Players thing I had to stop and stare at - the two dudes humping are kind of cut out of the frame. But hey, whatever. -hx 15:15, 19 May 2008 (UTC)
:::FWIW, "L'chaim" is a traditional Hebrew version of "Cheers!" and literally means "To life!" I'm up for ethnic humor as much as the <s>next</s> previous guy, but I still find the KP gag funnier in this case. == Ze little one ==

"The identity of ze little one is a bit on the fraught side. In the flyover shot of the barge on which the four Constructicons sit, a red bulldozer (Rampage), a concrete mixer (Mixmaster), a dump truck (Long Haul) and a yellow front-end loader are visible. The yellow front-end loader is the alternate mode of the Constructicon Scrapper, and ze little one's robot mode appears to be the same as Scrapper's. As such, the temptation to just consider this a Scrapper unit is great... except that, after the flyover shot, the yellow loader disappears, and is replaced with a yellow Volvo excavator, clearly marked with a large Decepticon insignia. For the purposes of reducing headaches, we're assuming that the excavator is the "correct" vehicle mode, and that it just happens to transform into a robot mode that resembles Scrapper...even though it's not him. "

Deaths of Optimus Prime "fanon"
That... wasn't fanon. It was more awkwardly phrased, but consistent with how it was portrayed in the episode. Aerialbots even say, to my recollection, that there are "others at the hanger." Elita-1 was rebuilt. Dion wasn't mentioned. :Well it explicitly said in the anon guy's contribution way back there that "Ariel and Dion were also rebuilt" (followed by an awkward parenthesis saying Ariel at least). Plus, the episode itself is awkwardly phrased... Slingshot says "There are others back at the hangar, his girlfriend Ariel" as though he actually meant to say "there's another one back at the hangar, his girlfriend Ariel". After Orion is rebuilt as Prime, there's no concern for any "others" and they only speak of Ariel, whom Alpha Trion says he'll "send droids out for". No mention at all that he'd rebuild other casualties of the hangar massacre. --Detour 00:32, 6 October 2009 (EDT)
:Because the fandom is so large, fragmented and clique-esque that there's really no way to measure what's relevant/common unless it's completely widespread, as in to the point that even average fans that don't read fanfic are familiar with the concepts used. Megatron/Starscream pairings probably predate Beast Wars itself, Starscream/Alexis was a freakin' epidemic for a time. Those are somewhat "worthy" of mention (in a squicky infamous way). Prime/Mikaela and Bumblebee/Sam, however? Although I'm not shocked they exist, I don't believe the average fans would know for certain that they do. I'll grant I didn't do more than a rough glance over it, so I can't vouch for its accuracy, but it WAS in keeping with our formatting for other TV series' front pages. Granted, the cast's much larger and so may be too overwhelming a list for the page, but in principle, it wasn't a wrong idea. ::::Actually, from a behind-the-scenes standpoint the name Dalek came first. But Who fiction-wise, it was established in a later serial (Genesis of the Daleks, the Daleks's origin story) that the original name of a Dalek was a Mark III Travel Machine. "At that moment, Davros enters the laboratory, and demonstrates his new "Mark III travel machine", which he later dubs as a "Dalek".". ==Movie Jolt vs Movie Jolt==
==Megatron joke==

That... wasn't fanon.
== Double dash template ==
Works just 100% fine on Opera and in Firefox and in IE7, so I don't know what the hell you're talking about. The whole purpose it was created was to clear things without creating gaps above the headers. So stop changing it every time I fix the formatting, as you're driving me insane and I'm going to start reverting you every time you do it. --Jeysie 20:48, 27 February 2010 (EST)
:Well it doesn't work on me in neither IE nor Firefox. So clearly the coding for it must be flawed somehow. --Detour 21:22, 27 February 2010 (EST)
::IIRC, you're one of the folks using IE6, aren't you? That would explain that part, if so. As for Firefox, it works fine on Firefox for me, so I just don't know what you're talking about there. (I also checked IE7 and it works fine there as well...)
::But in any case, bring it up with Derik to fix any problems rather than constantly removing it, considering the whole reason the template exists to begin with is to solve an issue folks used to be griping about. About the only issue I've ever had is that there has to be no line return space between the dash template and the following header, but that's easily tweaked while editing. --Jeysie 21:38, 27 February 2010 (EST)
::::You do realize button layouts are easily changed in most browsers, yes? (And I'd think lots of broken sites with missing features would be a bigger annoyance... having to surf using IE6 at one of my jobs last year was downright painful, it's missing so many useful standards.)
::::But, like I said, never had issues with FF at all. And even if there are, again, have Derik tweak the CSS, rather than unfixing the formatting fixes. --Jeysie 22:13, 27 February 2010 (EST)
I'll grant I didn't do more than a rough glance over it, so I can't vouch for its accuracy, but it WAS in keeping with our formatting for other TV series' front pages. For your information, there is incorrect information on that page, that must be changed. The Daleks were never first called "Mark 3 travel machines" that is wrong. The were first called Daleks. The machine the ride in was first a Mark 1 Travel Machines, then a Mark 2 Travel Machine, and finally a Mark 3 Travel Machine. It was Davros who called the machine they ride in Mark 3 Travel Machine, but the creatures are called Daleks, and they were first called Kaleds before being mutated into Daleks. I don't know were the hell you got that from but they are also not cyborgs. They are creatures inside tanks basically. I was correcting that. Get your facts right before delete something I did. == Death's Head 3.0 ==
The implication in Death's Head 3.0 is that it's showing the origin of the original Death's Head (and I think Furman confirmed as much when talking about the book at the Bristol Comic Expo a few years back). Should that not reflected either in the bio or the trivia? Danja 12:33, 23 August 2009 (EDT)
:I thought he confirmed that they were connected "somehow." The nature of the conenction isn't clear, especially since we know Death's Head's origin. -Derik 13:10, 23 August 2009 (EDT)
::I think, and this is going on hazy memories of a few years ago, the implication was that DH 3.0 would gradually upgrade himself into the Death's Head we know, hence the addition of the tusks at the end. Furman said he wanted DH to be using his trademark speech pattern at the end, but was overruled by Marvel, yes? Danja 04:04, 29 August 2009 (EDT)
:::Indeed.
:::Incidentally, I'm curious about the use of (G1) as the parenthetical. I suppose it's mostly out of some idea of consistency, but the character is owned and in active use by Marvel (Death's Head proper will be showing up in Marvel's new SWORD series, and DH2 had a cameo in the last issue of Captain Britain). - SanityOrMadness 14:21, 23 August 2009 (EDT)
:::Yes, but he showed up in a Generation One continuity, meaning in Transformers, he's a G1. Also, I would say any info not pertaining to his Transformers run should be left out or just in a short trivia point USer:Eire 19.31 Aug 23 09(UTC)
::::It begs the question... if Spider-man had appeared in the Armada comic (same logic as Avengers/Transformers) would we have split him between Spider-man (G1) and Spider-man (Armada)?
:::::Considering that Spider-Man contains both G1 and Crossovers info, I don't think so. It appears that we deal with non-TF characters using somewhat different rules. (For what it's worth, if we ever DID have to disambiguate Spider-Man, I would be loathe to use "(G1)"... That seems to be stretching the concept of "franchise of origin" pretty far. Death's Head doesn't bug me as much because his franchise of origin really is G1, earlier-one-pager-for-Marvel's-copyright-purposes be damned. Circuit Breaker, too, was very much made in and for G1, despite the legal ramifications of the Secret Wars thing.) - Jackpot 05:10, 29 August 2009 (EDT)
::::::Well yes, I'd tend to agree. It was a bit of a spurious question, since it really hinges on how far we want to push our ignorance of non-TF material. -Derik 05:21, 29 August 2009 (EDT)
:::::::IMHO the question outside knowledge is actually irrelevant in this case. Due to the nature of the TF multiverse, the same Spider-Man couldn't be in both universes unless it was stated in the story that he'd dimension-hopped. So we would indeed have to make two separate articles for him. And... well, what disambigs would we use if not (G1) and (Armada)? Using, say, (Marvel Comics) and (Dreamwave) would be even weirder from a "knowing outside stuff" standpoint, IMHO. And I'm having trouble figuring out what other pair of two disambigs would be accurate enough to use. --Jeysie 06:34, 29 August 2009 (EDT)
