Swoop is an excellent aerial combatant and bombardier, and has become skilled at using the fear his alt-mode creates in battle. He considers it his greatest weapon. Like all the Dinobots, Swoop tends to be arrogant, disobedient, and generally disagree with [[Optimus Prime (G1)|Optimus Prime]]'s leadership style. He's also a bit of a show-off.

Swoop was one of the original crew of the [[Ark (G1)|Ark]]. After it crashed, [[Shockwave (G1)|Shockwave]] came to Earth in pursuit and landed in the [[Savage Land]]. During a plot in which Octane and the Seekers were trying to steal a fuel tanker, the autobots were outnumbered and out gunned. It was Swoop, who was barely recovered from a previous battle, who showed up dropping bombs and badly damaging Octane, forcing the Decepticons to retreat.

*side note* This seems to support the theory that Swoop was more dedicated to the Autobots as compared to the other Dinobots. In the book he was made out to be modest, and grateful just to be able to help.

While guarding a mysterious meteorite, the original Dinobots, Grimlock, Slag and Sludge, were fooled by Megatron into joining the side of the Decepticons. To counter the threat of their former comrades, the Autobots constructed two new Dinobots; Snarl and Swoop. Snarl and Swoop did battle with the original Dinobots but were only strong enough to force them into a stalemate. The original Dinobots chose to return to the Autobots after their leader, Grimlock, was saved from the exploding meteorite through a selfless act of heroism from Optimus Prime.

Swoop was rarely seen apart from the other Dinobots. Together, they fought the likes of [[Devastator (G1)|Devastator]] and moved to a bizarre island (later dubbed [[Dinobot Island]]) to hone their skills.

Some time after that, the Dinobots chose to desert the Autobots during their time of need (the Autobots were dying from lack of [[Cybertonium]]) and go to [[Cybertron (planet)|Cybertron]]. All the Dinobots were captured by [[Shockwave (G1)|Shockwave]], reprogrammed and forced to work in the cybertonium mines at the planet's organic core. All, that is, except for Swoop. Swoop soon encountered [[Spike Witwicky|Spike]] and [[Carly]], the Autobots' human allies, deep within the bowels of the planet. The three teamed up and, after learning a brief history of the Transformer race, freed the Dinobots and returned to [[Earth]] with a shipment of Cybertonium.

In 2005, Swoop and the other Dinobots fought Devastator during the battle of [[Autobot City]]. They didn't fair too well. They later evacuated the city (reluctantly) when [[Galvatron (G1)|Galvatron]] attacked. Swoop and the Dinobots became briefly stranded on [[Quintessa]] along with [[Hot Rod (G1)|Hot Rod]] and [[Kup]] when their ship was shot down. With help from [[Wheelie]], the Dinobots found their friends, with Swoop using [[Sharkticon (G1)|Sharkticon]]s as bombs. The Autobots escaped Quintessa and rescued the remaining Autobots on the [[Junkion (planet)|Planet of Junk]] from a horde of confused [[Junkion]]s. In the year 2006, Swoop and the other Dinobots spent much of their time on Cybertron fishing for robot fish (or organic fish, depending on which shot you're looking at). Swoop and the others briefly ostracized Grimlock when he attained super intelligence. Grimlock eventually returned to normal and was welcomed back among their ranks. Swoop and the Dinobots were also summoned by [[Oracle (G1)|Primacron's Assistant]] to do battle with [[Tornadron]], a creation of the villainous [[Primacron]]. Swoop was an Autobot once named Divebomb, though the circumstances sorrounding his name change are unspecified. When Optimus Prime and [[Megatron (G1)|Megatron]] disappeared, Swoop joined Grimlock's [[Lightning Strike Coalition]]. When Grimlock took the future Dinobots to execute [[Jetfire (G1)|Jetfire]] and Shockwave, Swoop argued that they should instead focus on [[Trypticon|the new battle base]] the Decepticons had built. Once the base was called away to rescue Shockwave, Swoop told him to come back and fight, then called him a coward (once the base was already leaving). Heading to the [[Neutral Territories]], they found no sign of Grimlock or Jetfire. In a distant future of the [[Beast Wars]] timeline, the dark warlord known as [[Shokaract]] had conquered Cybertron and much of the galaxy. Only a handful of Maximals and Predacons survived to oppose him, under the command of the Predacon [[Sandstorm (BW)|Sandstorm]]. Among them was an ancient warrior known simply as The Veteran. Reflecting on his long history and all his many departed comrades, the Veteran began to wonder if he had survived so long as to become a ''figurative'' dinosaur.

The Veteran's finely honed skills and instincts allowed him to survive an assassination attempt by The Cub, one of Shokaract's servants. Returning in defeat, The Cub was severely wounded as punishment for his failure and left to die in the wilds of Cybertron. Before he could perish, however, Sandstorm's band of rebels recovered him. In an attempt to learn more about Shokaract's plans, The Veteran merged his Spark with that of The Cub, and thus was born the dual-Sparked [[Windrazor (BW)|Windrazor]].

Though Windrazor was essentially a new being, within him the Sparks of The Veteran and The Cub continued to grapple for control and dominance of their joined form.

The Veteran also appears in Simon Furman's psudo-cannonical story 'The Last Days Of Optimus Prime' and is depicted, in shadowy form, as having a pterosaur-like silhouette .

Swoop's Marvel comic model has the Transformer toy's red chest, but keeps the gold parts from the Diaclone toy.

Eventually, the Decepticons boarded the Ark, the Autobots' ship, and left the ''Nemesis'' orbiting Earth. The Ark then crashed into Earth with all the Transformers onboard, deactivating them and leaving the ''Nemesis'' in orbit with [[Shockwave (G1)|Shockwave]] to watch it.

The ''Nemesis'' was the ship used by the Decepticons to pursue the [[Autobot]]s. All the Decepticons left the ship to board the Ark and both ships ended-up crashing on prehistoric [[Earth]].

In 1985, archaeologists eventually discovered the ruins of the ''Nemesis'' in South America. Once [[Soundwave (G1)|Soundwave]] relayed the news to [[Megatron (G1)|Megatron]], the Decepticons deployed immediately. Upon arriving, Megatron removed the ''Nemesis''<nowiki>'</nowiki>s power-source, the [[Heart of Cybertron]] and had [[Hook]] then install it in him. Imbued with near-limitless power, Megatron then attempted to destroy the Autobots, and almost succeeded, until the Heart of Cybertron was removed from his body and destroyed by [[Perceptor (G1)|Perceptor]], [[Brawn]] and [[Bumblebee (G1)|Bumblebee]].

The ''Nemesis'' was the flagship of the [[Decepticon fleet]], and the most powerful warship ever built.

According to myth, it was responsible for shooting down the Ark. It was revealed that [[Tarantulas]] had discovered the wreckage of the ''Nemesis'' deep under water, and had been refurbishing it for unknown purposes. Following Tarantulas' death, [[Megatron (BW)|Megatron]] discovered the rebuilt ship and commandeered it as a last ditch attempt to rewrite history and destroy the Ark. {{storylink|Nemesis, Part 1}}

Using the ''Nemesis''<nowiki>'</nowiki>s awesome power, Megatron managed to kill [[Tigerhawk (BW)|Tigerhawk]] as well as [[Inferno (BW)|Inferno]] and [[Quickstrike (BW)|Quickstrike]] by accident. In the final battle, the ''Nemesis''<nowiki>'</nowiki>s controls were severely damaged by [[Rhinox]] and [[Optimus Primal]]. Out of control, the ship crashed a second time at an unseen location far over the horizon line.{{storylink|Nemesis, Part 2}} This, is yet another great time-link tie in, being that it probably crashed in the location that the G1 series finds it.

Even for the flagship of the Decepticon space fleet, one might have considered the armament on the ''Nemesis'' to be overkill. In addition to the standard energy weapons used by the Decepticons, the vessel carried a massive amount of [[missile]]s, which could be fired slowly in a swarm of rocket propelled death. A [[tractor beam]] could pull anything beneath it up to be sliced and grounded up by rotating blades and drills. The blades were incredibly sharp, being able to slice through solid rock.

Given that Megatron himself would have be the ship's normal commander, it shoould not be surprising that the primary weapon on the ''Nemesis'' was a [[fusion cannon]]. The fusion cannon was powered by its own reactor, apparently separate from the main [[Energon]] supply. The reactor needed to be at one hundred percent capacity to fire a blast, and would require a powerup time between blasts.

After returning to Earth following Shockwave's defeat on Cybertron, [[Starscream (G1)|Starscream]] used the ''Nemesis'' as his base of operations. It is unknown if the warship had previously been used for this purpose by the Decepticons or if Starscream rediscovered it after returning to Earth.

'''Airazor''' is pure professionalism. She always keeps her cool, and never wastes words, actions or ammo. In battle she's precise and persistent, a crack shot and an ace flyer. She gives her all and does it without complaint, or even comment.

Because of this, many consider her to be cold and impersonal. In reality, she's very compassionate; she just believes she must work her hardest to defeat the Decepticons, who threaten everything and everyone she cares about, so she pushes herself to the limit. Keeping professional about her tasks keeps her strong, Airazor feels.

This attitude seems to have had an unintended side effect on her [[Mini-Con]] partner [[Nightscream (Armada)|Nightscream]]. An utterly undisciplined malcontent and pest to everyone else, Nightscream actually snaps to and gets his slag together whenever things get hairy and Airazor is in the middle of it.
