Blurr of Cybertron
:Voice actor: ? (English), ? (Japanese)

Blurr (or a reasonable facsimile) was one of countless Autobot civilians relocated to Earth after the black hole began to threaten Cybertron's orbit. He and several other Autobots scanned a sleek-looking racing car as a disguise for blending in with Earth's society. They were learning to parallel park in a mall parking lot with the Autobots' human friend Coby when their impressive car modes started to draw too much attention. Coby's tall tale about remote-controlled, voice-activated break-dancing cars didn't discourage the attention much, either. Still, they started to learn the rules of the road from Lori and the others back at the Autobots' secret base. Hidden Optimus Prime checked in with Blurr and one of the other sleek racers while searching for Hot Shot. Landmine (episode)

Blurr participated in the search for the Omega Lock when the civilian Autobots volunteered their optics for Prime's cause. Search When an enraged Megatron came to Earth searching for the traitor Starscream, Blurr and the other civilian Autobots helped evacuate the area of humans to avoid discovery and keep them out of danger. Revelation (episode) After Mudflap turned away from the Decepticon cause to rejoin the Autobots, Blurr and his group of identical friends welcomed him back to the civilian Autobots. Family

Crosswise and Mudflap coordinated rescue efforts with Blurr and many other civilian Autobots during the final hours of the black hole's threat to Earth. Homecoming (episode)

Blurr of Velocitron
Blurr (or a reasonable facsimile) was one of countless nearly identical racers seen negotiating the raceways of Velocitron. Space (episode)

As the threat of the giant black hole grew, Velocitron's ramps began to fall apart, and many Blurr lookalikes fell through the crumbling roadways. Override returned to unite her people as Autobots, joined under Optimus Prime's command on Cybertron to fight back against Galvatron and the black hole. Homecoming (episode)

Cybertron Timelines stories
Blurr, a veteran racing champion from Velocitron, had turned into an instructor for younger 'bots in his later years. He heard about the threat of the Unicron Singularity, and made contact with the Autobots to join their search for the Cyber Planet Keys. This was shortly after the discovery of Jungle Planet. He was assigned to the scout ship Spanner by Ultra Magnus, working under the captain Longrack alongside Armorhide and Checkpoint. Their mission began in Delta Draconis, checking out spatial anomalies. They found a distant world, covered in Cybertronian corpses after what appeared to be an endless series of conflicts.

Longrack sent Blurr out on recon patrol, and the Velocitronian quickly came under heavy fire from one of the few surviving residents. Switching to robot mode, he summon his Cyber Key Power(!!!!!) to dramatically boost his foot speed. Blurr ran rings around the attacking helicopter, and managed to trap it in a whirlwind until a small shrapnel charge upset his footing, sending him flying and ultimately into stasis lock.

By the time Blurr revived, Longrack had made peace with their Combatron attacker, Whirl. Unfortunately, they were back out into battle before he had much time to rest, as a contingent of Decepticons had also found this "Apocalypse Planet", and its vault filled with doomsday arsenals. As Whirl and the Spanner's crew confronted the Decepticons, they had to fight their way through pilfered Mini-Cons, Decepticlones, and nucleon shock gauntlets, among other surprises. Blurr got into a race with the Decepticon driver known as Runamuck, but his dwindling power levels finally failed completely, and the racing champion went down.

The Autobots were taken prisoner but, luckily, the Decepticon squad leader Brushguard had studied under Megatron in the art of endless gloating, and he held then alive and captive long enough to rant about his greater glory. Armorhide, the last Autobot free, managed to return to the Spanner and pilot it straight into the Decepticon-held bunker. Blurr and the others broke free and stole Brushguard's ship, the Upstart, leaving the Decepticons behind on the Apocalypse Planet and continuing on for their rendezvous with Ultra Magnus and the Iron Hope. Force of Habit

Following the war with Galvatron, Blurr joined Override on board the Star Arrow. During a space mission when they were transporting a valuable Force Chip, the Star Arrow was shot down above the planet Sandokan. While searching for the means of repairing their ship, Blurr and the Autobots were attacked by Synthos, the deranged creature who had brought their ship down. They managed to retreat to a cave where they set up camp to repair their injuries and signal for rescue. Unfortunately, things were never that simple. The Decepticon mercenary known as Astrotrain arrived on Synthos, searching for their Force Chip and the Dark Heart that powered Synthos. Blurr was ambushed outside the cave by Astrotrain, and knocked off-line during the battle. Astrotrain's Mini-Con partners managed to steal the Force Chip from the Autobots, and fled the scene.

The Autobots raced after Astrotrain, and caught up with the Decepticon during a skirmish between him and Synthos. Astrotrain attempted to overpower the creature by using the Force Chip, but was fighting a losing battle. Synthos got possession of the Force Chip and nearly became unstoppable as he tried to add its power to his own Dark Heart. Luckily, Excellion and Blurr managed to fend off the creature and reclaim the Force Chip before any of their enemies could. In an ironic twist, the Autobots were then saved by the arrival of the space pirate Cannonball, Astrotrain's employer. As the Decepticons occupied themselves with the threat of Synthos, Blurr and the Autobots snuck aboard Cannonball's shuttle and assumed control of the vessel. With the Force Chip safely tucked away, they began their journey back to Cybertron. The Dark Heart of Sandokan
Who is Blurr?
In the Japanese Galaxy Force line, Blurr is described as being a high-strung, super-fast scout from Cybertron, effectively an alternate-universe incarnation of Generation 1 Blurr. He was sent as an advance scout to the Speed Planet. This, of course, was never part of the show's events; in fact, this depiction of Blurr only appeared on his Japanese bio card and nowhere else.

But in the Hasbro Cybertron line, Blurr has two separate profiles, both of which also contradict his appearance on the show. The first one was published on his packaging and appears on his Hasbro product page. It can easily be interpreted as calling him a native Velocitronian, describing him as a retired race champion and extremely demanding, seemingly short-tempered coach (with a spark of gold, of course) for new racers.

The second bio , which appeared online after the toy had been released stateside, explicitly characterized him as the character from Armada, staying on Cybertron during the Unicron Singularity crisis to keep the Decepticons remaining there from making things even worse.

Finally, the later text story "The Dark Heart of Sandokan" follows the lead of the Hasbro packaging bio, explicitly stating that Blurr is an elder Velocitronian, giving him a somewhat Lou-Gosset-Jr.-y temperament with his newest student, Excellion.

All this is on top of the use of Blurr's vehicle mode model (never the robot mode!) in various colors —including the toy's— as generic Transformers from both Cybertron and Velocitron, and never as a named character. Amusingly enough, his vs-pack-mate Buzzsaw appears as a native, unnamed (and neutral) Velocitronian as well.

As such... exactly who the Cybertron Blurr toy represents is pretty damn up in the air. Take your pick, you have a lot of canon choices.
He is very knowledgeable and very tough... and can be quite opinionated, to the point of being stupidly bull-headed. His adherence to past battle experiences can often leave him unprepared for unexpected changes in the battlefield. He's accompanied by his partner, Hornbreast.
Six Changers are a rare type of Transformer that, as the name implies, have six forms between which they can alternate. Most are part of the Generation 1 continuity family, which has a grand total of five characters based on three molds.
In G1 US fiction, Six Changers have a tendency to be portrayed as unstable. In Japanese fiction, they tend to be ninjas from the Six Clan, who are unsure of their allegiance. What this says about either ninjas or the unstable is unknown.
*Bumblebee (Mini Vehicle, 1984~1986)
**Japanese ID number: 11, C-56

: Bumblebee's original toy, released in 1984 and in Japan in 1985, originally hails from the Microchange series, transforming into a "penny-racer"-proportioned Volkswagen Beetle. He was available through the first three years of the Transformers series, the entire duration of the Mini Vehicle assortment, the only 1984 Mini Vehicle to do so. (This is also why he has two ID numbers in Japan; in 1986, the line switched from a single-series number listing to splitting it up between "C" (Cybertron/Autobot) and "D" (Destron/Decepticon) groupings.)

: 'Bee has a lot of minor variations. Throughout 1984 and 1985, Bumblebee was produced in both yellow and red (as was Cliffjumper), a move meant to "make the line look bigger" according to former Hasbro R&D Vice President George Dunsay. For his 1984 release, both color versions had an Autobot sigil on the roof/chest. In 1985, this was replaced by a rubsign. The rubsign remained on the 1986 release, though he was only released in yellow that year.

: Packaging-wise, there are several more variations. In 1984, the Mini Vehicles were packaged in vehicle mode. Come 1985, a picture of the toy in vehicle mode was added to the front of the card, and later the toys proper were packaged in robot mode. From this point on, the Mini Vehicles were also part of two different pack-in promotions; the Mini-Spies and iron-on reflective patches.

: Bumblebee was released in a wide variety of colors in markets south of the border. In Mexico, both a blue version and a recently-discovered white version with a red face were released.

: This mold was later retooled into a keychain version of Bumblebee, as well as for a Transformers Collection multipack (see below).

: The original mold is also used by the Optimus-faction Volks. Later retoolings of this mold were used to make Glyph and Bug Bite.

:Released in Argentina by Antex in 1985, Robocar Volks was available in two color schemes: red and black and orange and black.

: The Throttlebot Goldbug was released in 1987, and like the other Throttlebots, he has a pull-back motor and a simple transformation. The vehicle mode was not designed to look like a penny racer, as the original toy was, so its variation on the Volkswagen Beetle was much more realistically-proportioned. Though the other Throttlebots seem to have always been intended to be new characters, Goldbug's head was based directly on that of Bumblebee's original toy. Bumblebee was the second Transformer to be given a second toy (as both Hot Rod and Rodimus Prime had been released the year previous).

:This toy was reissued in Europe in 1991 as part of the Classics reissues, along with the rest of the Throttlebots. The toy was retooled to remove the rubsign indent, the heat-sensitive decal proper replaced with a glossy-paper faction symbol.

: This toy could also represent the IDW Generation 1 continuity Goldbug, assuming he ever got an Earth mode.

: As part of the sixth year of Generation 1, Bumblebee was released as a "Classic Pretender", expanding the range of Pretenders toys. This version of Bumblebee is still a Volkswagen Beetle, once again more realistically proportioned, but now has what look like off-road tires. He came with a gun for his robot mode that could be mounted on his roof and another gun for his human shell. Oddly, the robot's head is modeled after Cliffjumper's toy head.

: Part of the second wave of single-carded Action Master figures, Bumblebee is a non-transforming action figure that mixed cartoon model with toy-detail. He comes with his Heli-pack that transforms into a large "high-powered air rifle" with spring-loaded deploying barrel.
: Bumblebee was reissued as a keychain by Fun4All under license from Hasbro in the US in 2001. Along with having its rear bumper retooled to accommodate the chain, the keychain form lacked the "Dunlop" text on the tires. The toy also returned to its original sticker set-up, doing away with the rubsign and restored the Autobot symbol on his chest. Hasbro made the figure available again in 2007, this time under the "Heroes of Cybertron" banner.

: In Japan, all four Mini-Bot keychains were released in Japan in 2003 as a 7-Eleven exclusives. Each of the keychains also had black "chase" versions.
This time around, Bumblebee was retooled to have a new cartoon-accurate head. Additionally, this version of the figure gave Bumblebee both an Autobot symbol and a rubsign, keeping the former in its traditional placement on his chest, and relocating the rubsign to the back of his head, replacing the original tech-detailing sticker that had previously been there.

: One of the earliest proposals in the Alternators/Binaltech line was for Bumblebee as a Volkswagen New Beetle, with Cliffjumper as the redeco. Unfortunately, VW evidently did not want to be associated with "war toys", and therefore the design never made it past the control drawing stage. Control drawings for both Bumblebee and Cliffjumper have been published in the Japanese The Transformers: Binaltech & TF Collection Complete Guide book. The design did, however, end up appearing fictionally as Bumblebee's form in the Descent into Evil comic.
: Bumblebee comes with a single accessory, a jet ski called "Wave Crusher" on a trailer. This is a bit similar than his Action Master toy's transforming heli-pack.
: Robot Heroes Bumblebee is another piece of absolute adorableness. A soft-plastic figurine that combines the cartoon and toy elements of the original Bumblebee with a "super-deformed" style, he is jointed at the neck and shoulders. He came in a two-pack with Soundwave.

: Slumblebee is, as his name suggests, a plush Bumblebee toy based on his original Generation 1 form. Obviously he has no problems with articulation and passes the drop test with flying colors. You can transform him into his car mode (which is totally not a Beetle, as far as Volkswagen can prove) by turning him inside out. Truly he is a new zenith of cuteness.

:A non-transforming PVC figure of Bumblebee was released as part of a promotion by Boss Coffee. The small figure was randomly included with single cans of the company's "Rainbow Mountain Blend" coffee, contained in a plastic capsule affixed to the top of can which then became a display base for the figurine once removed. Bumblebee features articulation at the shoulders and waist, and came with a small catalog leaflet that could be folded up and attached to the lid/base to form a diorama background for added display value.
His Special Power, "Infiltrate" allows Bumblebee, after being defeated and turning up white, to be placed anywhere on the opponents starting line. He also has an always-active power that lets him take a free turn if he defeats another "Specialist"-ranked piece with a higher point value than his own. The Tako Tank was delivered to the Maximals stationed on Gaea by Scuba's cousin, Ikard. The Tako Tank gave the Maximals the upper hand in battle, though only Scuba seemed competent in piloting the thing. At one point, Tasmania Kid and Diver tried taking it for a joyride but instantly lost control and wreaked havoc all over the planet until Scuba was able to rescue them.

: The Tako Tank is a large mechanical octopus. Twin puppet-rods in the back give control of the front two tentacles (which is one of the funnest play-features in Transformers ever). A plunger in the back runs through the body, which activates the water-bellows in the tank's "mouth". A small wheel behind each "eye" allows them to spin, though for what purpose is unknown.

: The tank-head splits open to reveal a motorcycle Basic-scaled toys can ride. (Because of the way it folds up, the Transformer cannot stay in the bike in "storage" mode.) This bike has two flip-around spring-loaded torpedo launchers, plus the wheel assembly can adjust to serve as either a traditional land-based vehicle or be converted to a hoverbike.

: The Tako Tank came with its pilot, Ikard.
:The Tako Tank was also available as a "diving" style tub-toy, which came with fizzy-pellets to generate the movement, and a regular translucent blue PVC of Scuba, though presumably it is intended to represent Ikard. The tub-toy version is much smaller and has simpler, partially "SD" styled, detailing.
Notes
* "Tako" (蛸, 鮹, 章魚, 鱆, or タコ) is Japanese for "octopus".
* Like the Niagara Base from the same line, there is speculation that the Tako Tank was originally an unreleased Microman concept. This may explain the bike's questionable compatibility with its pilots.
* The Tako Tank appears in the Duel Fight Transformers Beast Wars: Beast Warriors' Strongest Decisive Battle video game, firing at the opponent as part of Scuba's "super move".
