:Demolishor is a Decepticon from the Unicron Trilogy continuity family.

Demolishor is a military expert who serves Megatron through the Unicron Battles. He is a very trusted but sometimes very dim soldier who holds very true-to-spark values concerning loyalty and devotion to the Decepticon cause. These values sometimes collide with Megatron's ultimately selfish goals, and Demolishor finds himself struggling to reconcile the two.

Ultimately, though, Demolishor never abandons his devotion to the Decepticons as a whole, even if his faith in their leader is shattered.

His Mini-Con partner is Blackout.

Demolishor served as Megatron's right-hand military expert until the arrival of Thrust, although he often competed with Starscream for the title. He was often dense and simple-minded, but very devoted to his cause. Perhaps the most thoughtful action of Demolishor's during this time was to tear through a door Megatron had sealed in order to stop Megatron from destroying Starscream, whom Demolishor valued as a Decepticon ally. Demolishor was seriously damaged by Nemesis Prime, only to be reformatted into a red/white color scheme vi Powerlinx energy. He would go on to serve in the United Armada against Unicron.

Following the end of the Unicron Battles, Megatron's death saw the alliance between the Decepticons and Autobots persist. With the establishment of Cybertron Cities to mine energon on Earth, Demolishor was assigned to Ocean City, where he guarded the city's main gate. Despite his frequent complaints and arguments with the humans and Autobots who lived in the city, Demolishor developed something of a friendship with his new allies and grew into his role. Of particular note was his bickering relationship with the inexperienced Ironhide, who didn't trust him for being a Decepticon, and whom he ridiculed in return for being a greenhorn. Cybertron City (episode)

In the year 2020, when the alien being Alpha Quintesson created the Terrorcons to steal energon for him, he armed their leader, Scorponok, with a sword forged from Megatron's spark. During a battle at Plains City, the sword was knocked aside and landed in the ground in front of Demolishor, but he could not bring himself to take hold of the weapon. The chance to return to his Decepticon nature versus his new role amongst the Autobots left him conflicted, unsure of what he truly wanted in life. Megatron's Sword

Demolishor's dilemma continued when Megatron returned to life and laid siege to Ocean City. Megatron Resurrected When Megatron appeared before him, Demolishor trained his guns on him, struggling to make a decision as Megatron continually taunted him. Eventually, Demolishor caved in and rejoined the Decepticons, departing with Megatron for his headquarters within the inactive corpse of Unicron. Despite having made this decision, Demolishor's experiences had left him a changed 'bot, and he would be heard to caution Megatron on the frailties of humans. Megatron Raid

Not longer thereafter, Demolishor participated in a Decepticon attack on the Autobot ship the Miranda II, which activated its personal energon grid defense system during the battle. Megatron was caught directly in the path of the grid, galvanizing Demolishor into making a final, fateful decision: He pushed his leader out of the way and took the force of the grid's blast himself. Oddly, Demolishor blamed Optimus for what happened to him and exploded. Nobody seemed to mourn the loss. (They do in the Japanese version, but this was altered in the English dub.) Go for Unicron!

Demolishor's body was destroyed, but his spark was salvaged by Megatron, who implanted it within a new body. Megatron used his Unicron-derived powers to wipe Demolishor's memory, removing any trace of his conflicted nature and degenerating him into a simple-minded, ape-like creature, easily excited and prone to grunting and jumping around. The Return of Demolishor Demolishor retained his friendship with Cyclonus, now Snow Cat, to whose level of intelligence he was now much closer. There was occasional cuddling. In the end, Demolishor, along with Snow Cat, did not follow Megatron into the sun. The Sun

Cybertron (toy bio)
Somehow magically back in his original body (no word on whether his mentality recovered as well), Demolishor was left behind on Cybertron during the planetary evacuation, but has kept himself busy by fighting off the Scrapmetal Terrorcon horde. Demolishor has heard rumors that Megatron has once again returned from the dead, but hopes it is not true, as he enjoys not being pushed around by his commander for once.

Dreamwave comic continuity
Dreamwave Armada comic
Demolishor was part of Megatron's initial strike force on Cybertron, participating on the roundup of Mini-Cons and assault on and devastation of Cyber City. He kept the Mini-Con Crumplezone as his personal slave. Dreamwave Armada issue 2 Millions of years later, when a Mini-Con signal was broadcast from Earth, Demolishor followed Megatron to the planet and was reformatted into an Earth tank mode (well, not really). Dreamwave Armada issue 4 As he can't fly (or get any rocket thrusters), he couldn't follow Megatron's team to the Moon, but instead guarded Decepticon base on Earth. He was knocked unconscious by the Autobots. Dreamwave Armada issue 10 Later, in an assault on Autobase, Demolishor knocked Smokescreen off a mountain road, where he was seriously injured by Megatron. However, he was soon knocked out by Galvatron. Worlds Collide, Part 2 Megatron later made a truce with the Autobots to help fight Unicron, and Demolishor had to release Crumplezone so he could join with the other Mini-Cons.

Energon comic
Demolishor wasn't seen much after the battle with Unicron until he was attacked by the ghost-like Starscream. Multiplicity, Pt. 3

TransTech
Demolishor is part of Gutcruncher's inner circle in the underlevels of Axiom Nexus. He was with Gutcruncher in The Blue Deployer the night the Action Master took Hubcap for a lot of money. Gone Too Far

* Demolishor w/ Blackout (Deluxe, 2002/2003)
**Japanese ID number: MD-03
**Accessories: 4 missiles

: Demolishor transforms into an anti-aircraft missile tank of made-up model. In vehicle mode, he has extra Mini-Con compatibility; there is a seat behind his turret so he can be piloted, plus the space between his treads features a clip/launcher mechanism for his partner Blackout in vehicle mode. Attaching a Mini-Con to his left shoulder's Powerlinx plug in either mode pushes his twin-missile launcher mechanism forward and allows his spring-loaded missiles to be fired.

: The Japanese release of Demolishor uses a different shade of tan, plus paints his face brown rather than black, among other smaller paint application changes.

: In Japan, Demolishor was available both separately and in a multi-pack with the Land Military Mini-Con Team. All toys in the set are identical to their individual releases.

*Demolishor (Happy Meal toy, 2003)

: An extremely simplified version of the original Demolishor toy, he features a "battle damage" pop-off arm. He can combine with the other Happy Meal Decepticons to form a super vehicle. Kinda.

*Demolishor (Built to Rule, 2003)
**Accessories: 2 missiles

: One of the smaller Built to Rule sets, Demolishor's vehicle mode is still an anti-aircraft missile tank, but with only one firing rocket per side, activated by a pressure-launch mechanism using a rotating "drum". He also features working rubber treads. He comes with a building-block version of Blackout.

: A late-series redeco of the original Demolishor in red and off-white. Part of the final wave of the Stateside Armada product, Demolishor's coloration was finalized after cardback photography was needed, so the card depicts a normal-colored Demolishor.

: Part of the final wave of Armada Built to Rule, the first Demolishor set was redecoed into colors very close to those of the Night Attack Mini-Con Team. Again, he comes with a similarly colored version of Blackout.

: Night Attack Demolishor did not ship very prominently, but eventually could be found at Toys "R" Us stores for the heavily discounted price of $2 or so.

: Originally released as part of the regular Takara Super Link series, the original Demolishor toy was given a new color scheme of lime green and purple. This version was later released in the US late in the Energon line as a Kay-Bee stores exclusive alongside the Super Link redeco of Cyclonus.

: Demolishor's new body transforms into a large "earth-mover" dump truck. His truck bed contains four spring-loaded missiles, plus four "false", non-firing missiles. His center torso block can rotate forward to bring his launcher over his body for "Hyper Mode"... which puts his head right in the middle of his sternum. His truck bed also feature two pairs of "dead" Powerlinx plugs to attach Mini-Cons to, one pair on each side of the "flap", allowing for Mini-Con Powerlinxing in bot truck and robot modes. According to Hasbro in a Q&A, he was supposed to be a new character named Long Haul.

: Available only in some Latin America markets, one of the two Energon McDonald's Happy Meal promos (neither of which were done in the US!) featured a heavily-simplified version of dump-truck Demolishor with a spring-loaded transformation to robot mode.

: A late addition to the line, the original tank mold was redecoed in a more military camo scheme. He does not come with his Mini-Con partner Blackout in this release; instead, he has a new-mold Cybertron-style Cyber Planet Key, without a molded faction sigil, plus a Mini-Con-style Powerlinx socket on the back so it can be used to activate his missile launcher. The key has a painted Decepticon sigil, a purple border, and the Key Code "dt67" printed on the back.

: Shown at Toy Fair 2006, Attacktix Demolishor is based on his Energon dump-truck body, with a back-mounted missile launcher that shot a wide-headed missile. He was placed in an early mock-up of the starter set, but ultimately only the vehicle-mode Skyblast piece would end up in the final product. The piece had no sticker on the front as well. And then... that was the last anyone saw of this piece. It was never shuffled into a later assortment or even mentioned anywhere. What the hell?
Trivia
* Reportedly, both of the original Demolishor toy's shoulders were to contain spring-loaded missile launchers, but one was removed for cost considerations.
* Powerlinx Demolishor was originally intended to be Sixshot-inspired, according to Aaron Archer, because Demolishor's gun-hands reminded him of Sixshot. (No, we don't get it, either.) However, the red color scheme got decided on by We've and implemented first.

* Demolishor was originally planned to be in the Armada Playstation 2 game as a long-running boss fight in the Antarctic. According to the original storyboards (unlocked in the game by finding the appropriate Data-Con on the Pacific Island base), he was the pilot of the crashed starship (instead of Starscream), and the player would have first fought him inside the control room of the ship. Megatron was then to fire on the ship when Demolishor was near defeat, which would cause the ship to crash into the chasm below. The player would then have to chase Demolishor vertically through the downed ship and into an ice cavern, where he would try and drop stalactites on your head during your final confrontation. Why Demolishor was removed from the game is unknown, though the most likely explanation is time and budget concerns.
* Cybertron Demolishor's Key Code as printed on the key doesn't work properly, giving the information for the Deluxe-Class Optimus Prime. However, the Code "D56B" gives Demolishor's information.

Eventually, Thrust joined Sideways with the lure of ultimate power, and managed to steal the three Mini-Con weapons that were the keys to reactivating Unicron's body. Thrust met his demise when he demanded Unicron attack his former master, Galvatron, only to have Unicron act totally unaware of Thrust's presence. Thrust fell into a seam on Unicron's surface which began to tighten and close as Unicron moved, and was crushed to death as Galvatron walked away.

Thrust was a somewhat cowboy-like entity that served the Decepticons loyally. He was devoted to Megatron, and followed his orders faithfully. Thrust first appeared via transwarp from Cybertron, carrying rocket boosters so the Decepticons could fly to the moon and capture the Mini-Cons stationed there.

Later, Thrust was sent to northern Alaska to back up Cyclonus, who was there to retrieve a fallen Mini-Con escape pod. First Thrust took a torch-blast to the face from Dune Runner of the Adventure Mini-Con Team, who was there to save his allies. Then he was knocked around by Cyclonus, who was feeling the effects of a triple-Powerlinx with the entire Destruction Mini-Con Team, which began to burn out his circuits and drive him mad with pain. When he finally came to, between Cyclonus' breakdown, the arrival of the Autobots, and Megatron using an orbiting solar scalpel to melt the ice that buried the escape pod, Thrust decided maybe he'd better get the heck outta Dodge.

Later, Thrust followed Starscream to a building lot in San Francisco, to investigate a weird transwarp disturbance. He got there just in time to get shot down by a herald of Unicron, who was seeking the refugee Mini-Con Over-Run.

When Megatron left to attack the Autobot base on Earth, Thrust was left behind to guard their Silver Ridge headquarters. He quickly had the crap kicked out of him by the other heralds of Unicron. Not a fatal beating, though, as he was repaired in time to journey back to Cybertron and face the planet-eater.

Energon comic
After the destruction of Unicron and the apparent death of Megatron, Thrust became a security officer in the new peacetime. When Starscream mocked the "rebel" Decepticons under Tidal Wave, his former comrade attempted to state his case that there were other Decepticons willing to fight, until Starscream pointed out that Thrust was happy with his "little sheriff's badge" and Demolishor never gave the rebellion a second thought. This Evil Reborn Later, Thrust joined Hot Shot's unit and defended Toronto, Canada from the Terrorcon Divebomb clones when they attacked Earth. When the revenant Megatron appeared and decimated the Terrorcons, Thrust tried to rejoin his former leader, but Megatron completely ignored him, warping to his next destination. Multiplicity, Pt. 4

: Thrust transforms into a dark green F-35 Lightning II fighter jet. In jet mode, he has two pressure-launch missile launchers, and a space to store his Mini-Con partner Inferno in his (Inferno's) truck mode. Aside from his robot mode, he also has an "assault" robot mode, which turns his torso around 180 degrees and extends his winged backpack; attaching a Mini-Con to the Powerlinx plug on his chest and pushing it up and down causes the backpack to move as a spinning blade.

: This mold was also used to make Universe Sunstorm.

: In Japan, Thrust was available both as an individual (well, with Inferno) and in a larger boxed set that also included the Air Military Mini-Con Team. There are no notable difference between the Japanese and US releases.
**Accessories: 2 missiles

: Part of the later-series "Powerlinx" line of redecos, Powerlinx Thrust got a new color scheme that was a "reversal" of the Generation 1 "conehead" Dirge, primarily light brown with dark blue and black accents.

: The packaging for this release, however, showed him in a color scheme more like his G1 namesake, burgundy with black (and some bone-white accents). His coloration was changed to the brown-and-blue too late to change the packaging photography.

: The change was made due to Takara choosing a mostly red color scheme for Demolishor (Demolishor's name in Japan was Ironhide and the color scheme was based on the G1 version of said character). Originally Hasbro had different plans for their redeco of Demolishor. But as a result, they changed their plans for Demolishor to match the animation, which was already based on Takara's products. Hasbro then thought there would be too much red on the shelves at the time, so Powerlinx Thrust's coloration was modified, as the figure would not appear on the cartoon. There are some similar colors used between the two versions of the toy, likely due to the quick change in scheme.

:Although Hasbro at one point expressed interest in releasing a running change variant of Powerlinx Thrust that reflected the originally intended color scheme, they never went through with it, at least not on the North American market. However, Takara released red Powerlinx Thrust as a "USA Edition" in Japan, exclusively available at the Toy's Dream Project members store Toycard, in Hasbro packaging (Takara had previously also released a "USA Edition" version of Powerlinx Thrust in Hasbro's colors, this time exclusively available at Laox stores).

: Curiously enough, Hasbro actually did produce a small run of red Powerlinx Thrust, but never released it on the North American market. Instead, the toy, in European packaging, popped up in Israel in mid-2004, later followed by sightings in Italy, Portugal, Spain and the United Kingdom. The toy was even found in Australia, but only in stores that also occasionally sell toys imported from other countries, and again in European packaging. Furthermore, some of the European countries saw the toy being sold at instant discount prices, which suggests it was old Hasbro warehouse stock which had never seen a shelf release that was now being cleared out.
Notes
* Thrust's demeanor and speech in the Dreamwave Armada comics are very reminiscent of Beast Wars Quickstrike, to the point of him even using the phrase "What in tarnation?" in one issue. Amusingly, Colin Murdoch voiced both characters in each respective cartoon series. It is unknown if this was an intentional move on writer Simon Furman's part or simply a coincidence.

* Like the Generation 1 Thrust, the Armada incarnation is portrayed as a braggart. In fact, just before his untimely demise, the angry Galvatron tells Thrust that "You always did like the sound of your own voice."
*Thrust is frequently called derogatory nicknames by his fellow Decepticons, including the notable 'Squidhead' coined by Megatron. While this was only used in one scene of one episode of the show, the nickname has spread.
Cautious. Reliable. Uneager. These are not words to describe Cyclonus. He is one wild and craaaaaaazy guy. Seriously, he's the guy in the group that even the other Cons think is a little unbalanced. His usual battle tactic is to rush straight in with every piece of artillery he has blazing, all while laughing maniacally. Other times, he yodels while rushing straight in with every piece of artillery he has blazing.

He loves combat, and isn't particularly picky about which side he's on, so long as he gets to shoot things. He's not especially bright, but Megatron knows the value of a soldier largely without fear.
Cyclonus is a wild soldier under Megatron's command. He is closely partnered with his comrade Demolishor, with whom he sometimes shares a love/hate relationship. He is known for having a maniacal personality and will often fire at targets frantically, risking damage to his own teammates. He has a quirky and sarcastic personality, often leading to harsh punishment by his commander. For some unknown reason, Cyclonus had the habit of falling asleep at random intervals during downtime after battles. He could be the first recorded case of a narcoleptic Decepticon (although not the first narcoleptic in Transformers full-stop).

Cyclonus served Megatron throughout the Unicron Battles, and was a key player in the united Armada against the chaos-bringer. His alternate form is a helicopter, and he often took pleasure in tormenting the three kids under Optimus Prime's protection. He joined the Autobot unit after the demise of Megatron, though with reservations.
:Voice actor: Don Brown (English), Isshin Chiba (Japanese), Johan Hedenberg (Swedish, Cyclonus), Anders Öjebo (Swedish, Snow Cat)

Cyclonus returned as the guardian of Cybertron City based on the moon. Although he served in his role dutifully, he was yearning for the days of combat. Not long after the attacks on Mars and Asteroid City, the moon would also be attacked, a battle through which Cyclonus would hold up a small resistance before he was presumed destroyed. As Demolishor prepared for more Terrorcon assaults on Earth, Cyclonus surfaced, having tucked tail and ran, abandoning Cybertron City on the moon to be looted of its Energon. Cyclonus assisted Demolishor and the Autobots until Tidal Wave showed up wielding Megatron's Sword, a blade forged by Alpha Quintesson from the Spark of Megatron. Believing that it was proof of Megatron, Cyclonus abandoned the Autobots and Demolishor, joining Alpha Quintesson's forces.

Cyclonus would once again serve Megatron when the commander was revived within Unicron for some time, before sustaining damages from an Autobot assault while retreating. Having failed to topple the Energon Towers, Cyclonus returned injured to his commander, begging for repairs. In a rage, Megatron bound Cyclonus to the wall using Unicron's internal tentacles as punishment. Cyclonus was then fused with Unicron's essence in a painful manner and upgraded into Snow Cat, who then took up yodeling, and skiing. During the Powerlinx Battles Snow Cat and Demolishor had to deal with a gigantic Insecticon, who was mutated by the Super Energon.
Following the Powerlinx Battles Snow Cat went totally starkers (it wasn't a long trip), and without Megatron to guide him, wandered the streets of Kaon, a raving loon during the planet's evacuation.

{{note|Snow Cat's Universe bio sets him off-camera during the events of Cybertron rather within the pre-existing Universe storyline. Ten years after the destruction of Unicron, Cyclonus was spotted in Cyber City, oddly not blowing anything up. This Evil Reborn

Later, Snow Cat, under the command of Scorponok, captured the Omnicons in a small town in the Yukon and rigged them to a machine that would extract their energon to feed Unicron, then reprogram them as Terrorcons. However, the Omnicons learned the value of teamwork thanks to the shared-hallucination-induced disembodied advice-giving head of Over-Run, broke free, and totally kicked his ass. Omni-Potent

Much later, Snow Cat was one of several Decepticons who attempted to "sneak" into Ocean City and steal the data for the Autobots' Omega Supreme prototype. He rushed into the dark hangar, smacked into a scaffolding like a big dumb doof, and was chased out by security.
: Cyclonus transforms into a Cybertronian helicopter coloured in light blue, light grey with dark blue and gold accents. His Mini-Con Crumplezone can be attached to the front of his helicopter cockpit for added firepower. His primary gimmick is a trigger-activated gear assembly that runs through the length of the vehicle mode; pulling the trigger both spins the rotor blade and a gear system in the cockpit area. If Crumplezone is attached, the gears make his cannon move back and forth. Attaching a compatible geared Mini-Con to the square frame on the underside of his cockpit (any member of the Destruction Mini-Con Team, the Adventure Mini-Con Team, or Refute) allows the gear system to activate their gear-wheel gimmicks as well by pulling the trigger. Attaching Mini-Cons to the powerlinx plugs on either of his wing-mounted weapons pods launches a spring-loaded missile. In robot mode, attaching a Mini-Con to the plugs on either side of his legs will make a spring-loaded (non-firing) cannon pop up from his shins.

: Part of the largest Transformers series Built to Rule set, Cyclonus can be assembled into an assault helicopter, a robot, or whatever your imagination can do with the blocks provided. Cyclonus is the only Built to Rule "figure" that does not have some kind of missile launcher. He came with a block-version of his Mini-Con partner Crumplezone, as well as the larger Megatron with Leader-1 model.

: This redeco of Cyclonus uses mostly bright green plastic, as well as dark grey and chocolate-brown. He retains all of his original gimmicks and still has his Mini-Con partner. He may have been designed as something of a questionable homage to Springer.

: This toy was not released as part of the normal Micron Legend series in Japan, but was straight-imported as a USA Edition exclusive to LaOX stores on September 27th, 2003.

: In November of 2003, US Toys "R" Us stores had special bonus pack Max-Con (Deluxe) toys, which came with a single bonus Mini-Con attached to the card over their sticker, for less than the price as a normal Max-Con during Toys "R" Us' post-Thanksgiving-day sale. Like Powerlinx Hot Shot, Powerlinx Cyclonus came with one of the Adventure Mini-Con Team members: Dune Runner, Iceberg or Ransack.
He is cast in primarily white and light blue plastics, with clear and burgundy for accents. In vehicle mode, the front wheel-hubs and sideskirts can be lowered to form skis for the vehicle to travel on, while in robot mode the sideskirt-skis fold down from his feet to allow him to "ski" in robot mode. He features twin spring-loaded missile launchers available to him in both modes; in robot mode, they end up as a back-mounted over-shoulder assembly. Unusually for Transformers of this era, he has a visible cockpit interior with a partially frosted windshield and working windshield wiper, further homaging the G.I. Joe toy he was designed after.
: The Energon Snow Cat mold was redecoed in superdark blue with orange accents and released as an exclusive to Kay-Bee stores in 2005, along with a redeco of Energon Downshift. However, at the time Kay-Bee was undergoing financial troubles, closing numerous stores across the United States, and it appears that the two toys did not make it to a great many of the stores that remained open. Many did make their way to Toy Liquidator outlets, a sub-company within Kay-Bee mostly found in outlet malls. In 2006, it seems the toys finally made it to a wider distribution through the remaining Kay-Bee stores.
Notes
* According to the Armada Playstation 2 game instruction booklet, Cyclonus's Armada body has the following statistics:

:Height: 19' 7" (17' 1" vehicle mode)
:Weight: 16,550 lbs
:Power: 1800 shaft horsepower
:Vehicle top speed: 190 mph

* The colors chosen for Universe Snow Cat emulate the colors of vehicles present in G.I. Joes Night Force sub-line. However, there was never a Night Force Snow Cat in the line.

* In the cartoon, Cyclonus NEVER had the right Mini-Con. In one episode, it is Longarm that he uses, while in another episode, it is Drill Bit (whom he refers to as Crumplezone).

* Snow Cat may have been originally intended as a separate character. Hasbro appears to have implied this is the case, saying that designing the toys before the show was completed led to "some characters not aligning together in the animation and toy expressions".
Side Swipe is a green Autobot. He's willing and eager, and also kinda dumb. He doesn't think before he leaps, gets really emotionally attached to commanders right away, and basically just messes things up. Optimus thinks that somewhere in there is the makings of a fine future soldier. Where?!

Despite his childish nature, Side Swipe is apparently a capable codebreaker and does manage to make himself useful on a few occasions by deciphering Decepticon data.

His Mini-Con partner is Nightbeat, who actually encourages his behavior.
Having once been saved from a hanging rope trap by Blurr's marksmanship on Cybertron, he immediately traveled to Earth to join him upon finding out where he had gone. Blurr managed to pawn him off on Hot Shot, and the two went out for a little training.

Unfortunately, at the same time, Hot Shot's former protege Wheeljack arrived on Earth, intent on doing horrible things to Hot Shot. Side Swipe crossed paths with Wheeljack, immediately leapt to his new awesome commander's defense, and failed. He later tried this again, only this time Wheeljack captured him and chained him up somewhere in an abandoned oil refinery. The battle between Hot Shot and Wheeljack set the place ablaze, re-setting the scene where Wheeljack though Hot Shot left him to die back on Cybertron centuries ago. Side Swipe blubbered a lot, thinking he was gonna die, but Hot Shot saved him. Back at the base, Side Swipe tried to give his commander a great big hug for saving his life. Past, Part 1 Past, Part 2
Sideswipe was part of Jetfire's Autobot unit, stationed at the Autobase on Cybertron. He was present when Hot Shot contacted Jetfire to ask for assistance in locating the missing Optimus Prime. Worlds Collide, Part 1 of 4 Seeking to discover the cause of the multiple space bridge events opening at the Decepticon Command HQ, Jetfire led a team that included Side Swipe, Blurr, Rhinox, Overload and Dropshot into the heart of the enemy stronghold, only to find dead bodies and a ruined base. They soon discovered the perpetrator when a mysterious, sword-wielding creature attacked them. Sideswipe was almost cut down when he sought cover
amongst the dead Decepticon bodies, but survived to participate in
**Accessories: Pistol, knife

: Side Swipe transforms into a Nissan Skyline R32 Coupe. He is packaged with Mini-Con Nightbeat, who can store in a flip-out section of the back end of Side Swipe's vehicle mode. Pressing down on the sigil plate in vehicle mode swings his car hood halves forward in a spring-loaded attack (or "dragster mode"). These hood parts end up on his arms in robot mode, giving him a spring-loaded attack in that mode. Attaching Nightbeat (or any other Mini-Con mold) to the Powerlinx plug on his back activates a "punching" action gimmick in his left arm.

:Early releases of Side Swipe parsed his name as "Sideswipe" on the packaging and instructions; this was changed to Side Swipe on successive versions.
: A 24-point "common" character in the 3D Battle-Card Game's "Energon Wars" expansion, Side Swipe "transforms" into a blue sports car of indeterminate make.
Trivia
* Aaron Archer, posting as "Orson", once gave signs that "Nightbeat" was actually meant to be Side Swipe's name and somehow had gotten swapped to his Mini-Con. He mentioned trying to get this corrected, but it never surfaced.

* Even though the toy's name was originally spelled "Sideswipe" on the packaging and in the instructions, Hasbro had been parsing the name as "Side Swipe" on toys from previous lines after they had successfully reclaimed it from another company that had been holding the name in the "toys" field during the 1990s. A packaging variant for the toy released as part of the "Unicron Battles" refresh of the Armada line later saw the name changed to "Side Swipe".

* Pre-release copies of Side Swipe had a lightning deco on the sides of the vehicle mode which was not included on the final version sold in stores.
Blurr was an Autobot officer holding the rank of lieutenant, a veteran of the campaigns on the war-torn planet Duke. While serving on Cybertron, Blurr encountered a young Autobot named Side Swipe, who had somehow fallen prey to a trap which left him hanging upside down from a rope. To his chagrin, saving the younger soldier led to Side Swipe idolizing Blurr, to the point of following the seasoned soldier to Earth. Past, Part 1

At his old friend Scavenger's request, Blurr transferred to Optimus Prime's command on Earth. He arrived in time to snipe a Mini-Con storage panel right out of Demolishor's fingers just as the Decepticons were warping back to their base. The Mini-Con panel activated to reveal Incinerator, who latched onto his savior, though Blurr had little idea of how to treat the Mini-Con. Soon afterwards the kids tried to become friends with the taciturn Autobot, but he blew them off, sternly stating that in war there is no time for foolish games, and that they should grow up. As the two fastest Autobots on land, Blurr was paired with Hot Shot in the search for the next Mini-Con on a race track. The two Autobots butted heads over how to proceed with the mission, culminating in the loss of the Mini-Con panel to the Decepticons. Afterwards, Hot Shot apologized to Blurr, who appreciated the sentiment and concluded that he was unaware that the Mini-Cons were more than just tools and that he doesn't get along with others very well. Reinforcement

Wheeljack was once an Autobot in the same military unit as Hot Shot, looking up to his peer due to his own inexperience in battle, and they considered each other good friends. A million years later, a black-coloured Wheeljack tracked down Hot Shot on Earth as his former friend was mentoring another young Autobot, Side Swipe. Managing to aggravate the younger Autobot's temper by laughing evilly and (ha) sideswiping him off the road, Wheeljack led him on a chase before finally sending him off a cliff. Confronting Hot Shot, he explained what had happened so long ago and why he was here. Later, as Hot Shot tried to deal with these revelations, Wheeljack challenged his friend to a showdown at an abandoned oil refinery. Once again, Hot Shot tried to explain what had really happened and asked for forgiveness, but the Decepticon was both unwilling to listen and had been too bitter for too long to simply let bygones be bygones. At that moment, the hapless Side Swipe attempted to save Hot Shot, only to be taken hostage by Wheeljack, who shot Hot Shot in the leg before daring him to save his young friend from the burning refinery.

In a touch of what he perceived to be poetic justice, Wheeljack left Side Swipe restrained to the main oil tank in the middle of the blazing inferno, as he believed Hot Shot would abandon his new friend just as he allegedly did to Wheeljack on Cybertron. As Hot Shot struggled through his injuries and limped through the refinery to save Side Swipe, Thrust, who had been watching the confrontation, attacked the helpless Autobot. An enraged Wheeljack shot him out of the sky for daring to interfere, but soon discovered that Megatron had been there the whole time.

On the Moon, a comically-injured Thrust protested Megatron's decision to allow Wheeljack to join the Decepticons, given his unstable temperament and violent disposition. Wheeljack swore loyalty to Megatron and the Decepticons, to the unease of Starscream. Past, Part 2

: Wheeljack transforms into a gullwing-doored supercar of vague origin. He is cast in dark charcoal plastic in vehicle mode, with white and yellow for robot parts. His most distinctive feature is the large, scarred Autobot symbol on the center of his chest. When his Mini-Con Wind Sheer is attached to his active rooftop Powerlinx port, both doors either side of the vehicle mode open up like wings, which also give access to the triggers for his door-mounted missile launchers. In robot mode, these missiles can be held in his hands as melee weapons. Unusually, his right wrist features a swivel joint while his left wrist is immobile.

: The Takara release of Wheeljack, named Rampage, has some deco differences. His predominant vehicle mode plastic is now solid black, with the large yellow paint striping replaced with much smaller light blue stripes, and his eyes are painted blue, matching his cartoon model.

: This mold was also used to make a proposed, but unreleased, Universe Battle in a Box Drench. The deco was later used for the 2008 exclusive Shattered Glass Sideswipe.
Trivia
* According to Aaron Archer, the final head design for Armada Wheeljack is unintentional, at least to Hasbro. Unbeknownst to the American toy company, Takara had designed and sculpted the head to resemble Generation 1 Sideswipe, no doubt due to the similarity of the robot modes on both toys, and Hasbro's team were surprised when they received the prototype toy from Japan.

* Also according to Aaron Archer, during his ORSON stint, it seems some other things about the final sculpt were unknown to the Hasbro team.
*When a fan asked about Wheeljack having only one articulated wrist, Archer did not know why this was done.
*When asked about Wheeljack having knees whilst most other Armada figures seemed to lack them, the reply was "Wheeljack has knees?"

* At OTFCC 2003, Hasbro noted they had vague plans to release the Takara version of Wheeljack as a running change variant. This never materialized, however.

* Out of the Armada Decepticons who came to Earth in the animated continuity who were not shown to be killed off, Wheeljack is the only one who did not reappear in Energon. As a result, his eventual fate is unknown.

* The original plan for Wheeljack was for him to be Hot Shot's brother. Even after the episode aired, Aaron Archer, posting as ORSON, was unaware of this change.
A former Autobot, Wheeljack wears the scarred insignia as a constant reminder of what he left. He believes the supposedly-noble Autobots left him on the field of battle to die (and he's not entirely wrong about that, either), and particularly blames his former friend Hot Shot (that, now, he's got dead wrong). Wheeljack was once an Autobot in the same military unit as Hot Shot, looking up to his peer due to his own inexperience in battle, and they considered each other good friends. However, that friendship was broken one day when Wheeljack was trapped under rubble in the middle of an intense fire. Hot Shot could not lift the wreckage alone, and left to get some help, promising to return, but he never did. An arrogant Autobot officer forbade Hot Shot from returning, claiming the fire was too intense and they couldn't risk more lives.
