With the arrival of [[Scorponok (G1)|Scorponok]], the [[Autobot]]s scatter, but [[Arcee (G1)|Arcee]] and [[Daniel Witwicky (G1)|Daniel]] are captured. As the [[Decepticon]]s depart in Scorponok, [[Optimus Prime (G1)/Generation 1 cartoon continuity|Optimus Prime]] orders the Autobots to move out. However, [[Spike Witwicky (G1)|Spike]] insists on letting him and [[Cerebros (G1)|Cerebros]] remain behind. Though Optimus believes that Spike is their only hope if [[Galvatron (G1)|Galvatron]] should activate the [[Plasma Energy Chamber]], he relents.

On [[Cybertron (planet)|Cybertron]], [[Ultra Magnus (G1)|Ultra Magnus]]'s forces are fighting off the Decepticons, but the tide is turned when the [[Headmaster (technology)|Headmasters]] and [[Targetmaster]]s arrive, allowing Galvatron to claim victory. [[Scourge (G1)|Scourge]] and [[Cyclonus (G1)|Cyclonus]] explain what happened on [[Nebulos]], but Galvatron is so disgusted that he's on the verge of reducing all of them to [[scrap]]. However, [[Zarak (Nebulan)|Zarak]] explains that he has the [[Key to the Plasma Energy Chamber|Key]], and has control over Scorponok. Though still disgusted, Galvatron agrees to at least talk, while ordering a new [[planetary engine]] he installed on Cybertron to be activated. They prepare to torture Daniel, but Arcee gives them the Key.

Heading for Cybertron, Optimus receives a vision from the [[Spark|spirit]] of [[Alpha Trion (G1)|Alpha Trion]], telling the Autobot leader to preserve the key at all costs. However, [[Hot Rod (G1)|Hot Rod]] and [[Kup (G1)|Kup]] inform Prime that Cybertron has disappeared. Realizing Galvatron's intentions, Optimus orders the shuttle to head for [[Earth]]. On Cybertron, which has entered the [[Solar system|Sol system]], Galvatron reveals that he intends to activate the Plasma Energy Chamber, and let the [[Plasma energy|energy]] spread out and cause the [[sun]] to nova, destroying Earth and Cybertron. On Nebulos, Spike and Cerebros locate the [[Hive (G1)|Hive]]'s city, and begin using long-abandoned controls to begin modifying the city.

Landing on Cybertron, the Autobots discover that their comrades have had their [[power pack]]s removed, and their lives will end if they do not get immediate [[Energon (fuel)|energon]]. The [[Nebulan]]s think that they should just destroy the Key, lest the released energy reach Nebulos. However, Prime remains adamant, explaining that [[Vector Sigma]] has a plan. Unwilling to take the risk, the Nebulans simply abandon the Autobots and head to destroy the key, pursued by the weaponless and headless Autobots. However, they are attacked by the Decepticons, who are preparing to leave. Just then, Spike and Cerebros arrive in the Hive's converted city, which [[Transformation|transforms]] into [[Fortress Maximus (G1)|Fortress Maximus]], with Spike and Cerebros as its components. Fortress Maximus engages Scorponok, causing the Decepticons and the Hive to flee. Spike and the Nebulans deactivate the Plasma Energy Chamber, but not before it sends a wave of energy into the sun.

Working quickly, Spike and the Nebulans begin preparing Vector Sigma to absorb the excess solar energy. Pumping it straight into the supercomputer, it directs the energy into Cybertron's storage capacitors, resulting in the complete revitalization of Cybertron. As Cerebros reactivates, he begs Spike to deactivate him, no longer wishing to endure the [[Great War (G1)|Great War]]. However, Spike tells him that Cybertron has been revitalized. Optimus declares that the Headmasters and Targetmasters are to become the guardians of Nebulos, and to destroy the Hive's machines. When this is done, Cerebros will become the guardian of Nebulos, and live in peace.

However, Scorponok survived the destruction, and it is obvious that Galvatron and Zarak do not see eye to eye. Galvatron plans to raid hundreds of worlds and destroy Cybertron, then conquer the universe, but Zarak doubts that Galvatron will be the ruler of the galaxy. As the would-be tyrants bicker, Nebulos stands free, while Cybertron begins a second [[Golden Age]] under the rule of Optimus Prime and the Autobots.

* The action begins with a reset - as Scorponok advances, the Autobots are once again circled around Prime and Arcee. This time, they flee from an energy bolt instead of Scorponok's tail smash.
* Skullcruncher is shown lip-flapping, but it's Grax's voice speaking.
* Optimus is shown against a generic orange-yellow background as he speaks with Spike, rather than the rocks or sky that should be there.
* Afterburner is colored like Crosshairs in the opening shot of the battle on Cybertron. In the foreground, an unconscious Searchlight has Hun-Grrr's colors.
* Quite a few shots in this episode show an ''incredibly'' small Cybertron, with the curve of the planet's surface visible in the same shot as the characters. Check out the shot of Silverbolt crashing, for example, or the Combaticons walking up to Galvatron a moment later.
* Once Silverbolt is shot down, the whole battle just disappears.
* Alongside the fallen Silverbolt are several generics, and an Aerialbot (Fireflight?) in Blot's colors. In the same shot, Brawl is colored like Peacemaker or Pinpointer.
* The Combaticons are right there when the Protectobots attack. Why don't they help their leader?
* As the Targetmasters exit Scorponok and transform, the transformation sound effect plays and is nearly finished before any of them start transforming.

* An establishing shot shows Cybertron rocketing toward Earth... and not just literally. As shown, the planets should have collided in a few more seconds.
* In the pile of deactivated Autobots, Wideload's head is all-white.
* The Key is again missing its ridges when Cyclonus presents it to Galvatron.
* Magnus was piled, inert, in a pile of deactivated Autobots. As he listens to Galvatron's plan, however, both he and Silverbolt are stealthily hunkered down in a pile of random non-robot scrap.

* As Zarak pops out of Scorponok to mock Spike's "pathetic little darts", he's drawn at the same scale as the Scorponok/Zarak toy. Given how big cartoon Scorponok is supposed to be, however, this means that cartoon Zarak is gigantic - bigger than a regular Transformer.
* Zarak transforms into an all-white Scorponok head.
* In the next shot, Scorponok's scorpion head is white with green antenna.
* In the next shot, head-mode Zarak has black antenna instead of orange. Scorponok's legs are purple instead of green.

* Daniel is suddenly and inexplicably back in his exo-suit as Arcee drives up.
* As the Autobots celebrate their victory, Bumblebee shows up. Right next to Goldbug. In the foreground is a giant Pinpointer. Super-tiny Cybertron is particularly obvious in this shot.
* As Gort explains that there's still much work to be done on Nebulos, the Headmaster partners are Optimus's size.
* Rather than actually ''transforming'' into Arcee's head, Daniel disappears into her torso, then her head just slides out.
* Despite his exo-suit supposedly transforming into Arcee's head, Daniel is wearing the suit inside her head at the end of the episode.
* Cerebro's eyeband is gray again as he thanks Optimus (and his Autobot symbol is black.) Seriously, blue and gray - how hard is that to remember??

* "How're we ever gonna fight that thing?" Hot Rod wonders, apparently forgetting that they've got a whole giant living city-robot back on Earth. Unless he really DID have to kill Metroplex during the hate plague...
* Onslaught's single line is not in his usual voice.
* Why did Galvatron get the [[Combaticon (G1)|Combaticons]] to construct the rocket engine when he has the [[Constructicon (G1)|Constructicons]]?

* Shouldn't Cybertron's close proximity to Earth cause the planet to tear itself apart, as it did in "[[The Ultimate Doom, Part 2]]"? Prime seems blissfully unconcerned about it.
* Chromedome claims that the Autobot Headmasters are "stuck being vehicles without their heads", yet Hardhead was seen moving around and firing his Shatterblasters in dual wield fashion(!) in the [[The Rebirth, Part 2|previous episode]] for some time after Duros disconnected. Perhaps the automatic transformation into vehicle mode following a Headmaster pilot's disconnection can be delayed somewhat?
* Spike is able to construct a complex, super powerful Transformer single-handedly out of an entire city using alien technology in what may be no more than mere hours. This may be normal for Transformers to do, but Spike...?
* Galvatron acts like the 10-minute delay he sets on the plasma energy chamber will give him and the Decepticons time to escape from the destruction of the entire solar system. They even try to get into Scorponok so they can fly away. Scorponok was never said to have any kind of warp-factor flight, and the nearest known [[warp gate]] was around [[Pluto]].
* Two episodes ago, a crew of Autobots had to take a shuttle to reach the Plasma Energy Chamber. This episode, Spike apparently just runs there on foot in no time flat.
* Spike tells the Nebulons to "hold your breath and pray." How does he know they're religious at all?
* And then of course, there's the mondo-unbelievable premise of the episode's resolution, that one can simply "reverse" a rocket engine to suck in energy in general, and excess energy out of an about-to-explode star in particular. Does this mean you can put your car in reverse and suck all the burnt gasoline back into it?

===Continuity notes===
* Hot Rod shows a rare trace of his former Matrix-bearing life, immediately recognizing that to have spoken with Alpha Trion, Optimus must have merged with Vector Sigma.
* Apparently, [[Cerebros (G1)|Cerebros]] can't see in his alternate mode, given his dialogue exchange with Spike at the end of the episode. His alternate mode, by the by, is basically a tiny version of Fortress Maximus's city mode.
* The story ends with the Decepticons still at large, and the Autobots in control of a revitalized Cybertron.

* Man, somebody sure doesn't care about selling Aerialbot toys anymore, huh? They get shot down one after the next in Part 1, are shown fleeing in disarray from Abominus in Part 2, and show up in Part 3 just long enough to get shot down again.
* Fortress Maximus and Scorponok's city modes make ''terrible'' space ships.
* After Galvatron sets the timer, we hear a snippet of music that was heard many times in the first season of the show.
* This is the final episode of the original cartoon.

'''Bluestreak''' is a talker. He talks a lot. Any subject, any time of the day, his lips are flapping while his Autobot comrades are rolling their eyes. Could be about things on Earth, could be about things on Cybertron, could be about just about anything, but the point is, y'know, he's talking. Words are coming out of his mouth in a near constant prattling stream. Some think he's vapid, that his mouth just moves a billion times faster than his brain, if his brain is moving at all. Or they imagine that he's a fool who doesn't know when to shut up, that he drones on and on and on and on because maybe he just likes to hear himself speak or something.

His friends realize, however, that his jabbering hides a deeper pain. At the beginning of the [[Great War (G1)|war]], Bluestreak's [[Praxus|home city]] was totally destroyed by [[Decepticon]]s. He was the only survivor. It's as if by talking he tries to drown out his own fears and memories somehow. "There's some demons runnin' loose inside that boy," says [[Hound (G1)|Hound]], "and sometimes I think they grab hold of him and won't let him go." He hated war, he still does, but ever since, he's hated Decepticons even more. It is odd to see a bot of peace so willingly take up arms, but Bluestreak's got a score to settle.

Talk may be cheap, but it keeps him sane.

Bluestreak arrived on [[Earth]] with his fellow Autobots four million years ago and remained inactive until 1984. Along with [[Mirage (G1)|Mirage]] and [[Huffer (G1)|Huffer]], Bluestreak was one of the less sympathetic of the [[Ark (G1)|Ark]]'s crew when it came to humans. {{storylink|The Transformers (issue)|The Transformers}} In an early mission in the [[United Kingdom]], he provided covering fire for an Autobot convoy, using his sharpshooting skills to knock [[Thundercracker (G1)|Thundercracker]] out of the sky with '''one shot'''. He suggested repairing the Ark and simply abandoning Earth's people to the Decepticons after learning that [[Sparkplug Witwicky]] had allegedly provided their foes with a fuel conversion process while he was their prisoner. Despite their conflicting views, Optimus Prime still recognized Bluestreak's skill as a sharpshooter and chose him to be one of the five Autobots recharged in the [[Chambers of Transference]], in the hopes that at least some Autobots would be at full capacity when the inevitable Decepticon attack came. When it did, Bluestreak was brazen enough to attack [[Megatron (G1)|Megatron]] himself, head-on. When the volcano erupted and activated [[Teletraan I (G1)|Teletraan I]] in 1984, Bluestreak was reformatted into a Datsun 280Z. Chasing after the escaping Decepticons, Bluestreak managed to damage both Starscream and Thundercracker significantly with a single blast from his shoulder cannons. He and [[Prowl (G1)|Prowl]] followed the fleeing villains to a human aircraft hangar, from which the Decepticons were scavenging parts. Bluestreak accused Starscream of having a [[manifold]] for a mouth. It was hilarious, but both Autobots were outnumbered when Soundwave unleashed Ravage. Bluestreak's skill as a gunner was frequently employed in combat. Bluestreak was a victim of Megatron's [[personality destabilizer device]] that was placed in the Autobots' recharging chambers. Once under Decepticon control, Bluestreak attacked Bumblebee and tried to make him recharge, but was disabled by [[Jazz (G1)|Jazz]]. After regaining consciousness, he was the first to be brought back using Sparkplug's new invention, the [[attitude exchanger]]. Afterward, he accompanied Jazz and Sparkplug to return the other Autobots to normal. Along with several fellow Autobots, Bluestreak participated in the [[Europa 2000]], an international charity race stretching from Paris to Istanbul. When the arrogant racing driver [[Auggie Cahnay (G1)|Auggie Cahnay]] cut across Bumblebee, an indignant Bluestreak helped his understandably angry friend catch up to the American and attempt to teach him some manners. Later, after running afoul of the [[Stunticon (G1)|Stunticons]], Bluestreak learned of Megatron's plan for the [[Pearl of Bahoudin]] from [[Teranova|Professor Teranova]] and deduced that the missing Autobots must have been disabled by the Stunticons. After Cahnay's car was stolen by the Decepticons to use as raw materials for a weather control machine, Bluestreak allowed the hotshot driver to race him to victory at the finish line. Together, Bluestreak, [[Tracks (G1)|Tracks]] and Bumblebee headed out to confront the Decepticons, but when the Pearl was lost in a tornado, Megatron unleashed [[Menasor (G1)|Menasor]] onto the Autobots. Suffering from the [[Cosmic Rust (disease)|Cosmic Rust]] virus, Bluestreak was one of the first Autobots reconstructed using [[Binaltech]] technology. Alongside [[Smokescreen (G1)|Smokescreen]], [[Hound (G1)|Hound]], [[Tracks (G1)|Tracks]], and [[Sideswipe (G1)|Sideswipe]], he helped [[Earth Defense Command]] drive the Decepticons off of Earth. Bluestreak continued serving on Earth at Autobot City, under [[Ultra Magnus (G1)|Ultra Magnus]]'s overall command. {{storylink|Binaltech Is...}}

As the conflict raged on, thanks to the time- and space-warping actions of both [[Ravage (G1)|Ravage]] and a mysterious entity known as [[Optimus Primal|The Protector]], the events of the Binaltech conflict were branched off to become their own, distinct parallel universe (the "BT World") separate from the "mainstream" timeline {{storylink|Binal Time}}

When the spark of Prowl from the "BT World" was lost in interdimensional [[subspace]], it re-emerged in the mainstream timeline, and was discovered by Bluestreak and the other Autobots. Soon after, a strange energy surge came across the dimensions from the "BT World" and made contact with Prowl's spark, driving into a dangerously unstable state. To save the life of this Prowl he had never even known, Bluestreak tracked the energy back across the dimensions and traveled to the "BT World", meeting up with the local versions of [[Grimlock (G1)|Grimlock]] and "[[Prowl II]]" (a duplicate Prowl housing the consciousness of [[Chip Chase]]). The pair brought him back to the Autobots' headquarters, where he explained the situation to [[Ultra Magnus (G1)|Ultra Magnus]]. {{storylink|Unfinished Business, Part 1}}

Jazz used the data Bluestreak had brought with him to pinpoint the source of the energy surge. During the subsequent raid, Bluestreak and the Autobots discovered that the surge was the work of [[Swindle (G1)|Swindle]] and the [[Concurrence]], who were using a subspace node to drain energy from Prowl's spark, which they then used to power a giant robot made of synthetic [[electrum]]. Once Jazz had taken out the node, Bluestreak took down the robot with some well-placed shots. They were then contacted by [[Overdrive]] from Bluestreak's dimension, who reported that Prowl's spark had stabilized, but that it would be too dangerous to send it back through subspace unshielded. Instead, Chip's consciousness was removed from the "Prowl II" body and returned to his human frame, and the Binaltech shell was then taken back across the dimensions by Bluestreak so Prowl's spark could be implanted in it. {{storylink|Binaltech|Unfinished Business, Part 2}}

This was a deliberate action on Megatron's part, as he wanted a sole survivor to bear witness to his power, and spread his message of terror. {{storylink|Hardwired}}'' Originally a merchant, Bluestreak then joined the Autobot army. 500,000 years later, he related [[Sentinel Prime (G1)|Sentinel Prime]]'s death to [[Optimus Prime (G1)|Optronix]], {{storylink|The War Within issue 1}} and later served in the last-ditch attempt to defend [[Iacon (city-state)|Iacon]] from [[Shockwave (G1)|Shockwave]]'s forces. {{storylink|The War Within}}

7.4 million years ago, Bluestreak remained with the Autobot faction after the apparent death of Optimus Prime. He and [[Trailbreaker (G1)|Trailbreaker]] remained at [[Autobase (G1)|Autobase]] while [[Prowl (G1)|Prowl]] led a task force against [[Trypticon (G1)|Trypticon]]. Bluestreak was among the crew of the ''[[Ark (G1)|Ark]]'' when it crashed on [[Earth]] 4 million years ago, and awoke in 1984 to battle the Decepticons. After years of fighting, Bluestreak and the other Autobots took part in [[Operation Liberation]] in 1998, a joint human/Autobot operation that defeated and captured the Earth-bound Decepticons. However, the ''[[Ark II]]'', which was meant to convey the Autobots, the captured Decepticons, and a number of humans back to Cybertron, was sabotaged by General [[Robert Hallo]], sending Bluestreak and his comrades to the bottom of the [[Arctic Ocean]].

Bluestreak was later recovered by the sinister [[Lazarus]], and his deactivated form was used to power [[Megatron (G1)|Megatron's]] deadly metal virus weapon, after the Decepticons broke free of Lazarus's control. During the battle, a lattice of red and blue energy struck down from the heavens, scooping up the four Transformers and over 200 humans in the immediate area, blasting them back out into space. Their hosts were a group of enigmatic beings known as the [[Keeper (species)|Keepers]], who were transporting them through deep space to their base of operations, the [[Labyrinth]]. During their travels, Bluestreak was forced to experience a full-sensory recreation of Praxus, and its last hours before Megatron destroyed it. Hot Rod told him to let the old mistrust between the factions go, but Silverstreak proved to have good instincts—Swindle had installed combiner technology in the Stunticons, creating the menace of [[Menasor (G1)|Menasor]] which he turned against their new Autobot "comrades". {{storylink|Enemies of the System}} After Menasor was defeated, Silverstreak chastized Rodimus for failing to predict someone named "Swindle" might be less than trustworthy. Released by Diamond Select Toys in 2009, Bluestreak was sculpted by [[Mark Wong|Mark Wong]] of [[Art Asylum]] and limited to 250 pieces. Bluestreak, along with his "brothers" [[Prowl (G1)/toys|Prowl]] and [[Smokescreen (G1)|Smokescreen]], is exclusive to online retailer Toyrocket.com. The bust features Bluestreak's beam rifle and twin missile launchers. The missile launchers can be attached via magnets on either side of his head. The missile launchers given to Bluestreak closely match Smokescreen's animation model rather than his own. It is unknown if this change was intentional or a mistake.

While this is most likely true, it may also have to do with [[Hasbro]]'s inability or desire not to release figures too similar to e-Hobby exclusives, thus a required change for Silverstreak from e-Hobby Streak.

* The deco for Hasbro's retool of the ''[[Alternators]]'' Acura RSX mold was originally designed with Bluestreak in mind, specifically the original Diaclone deco mentioned above. Early leaked packaging samples even sported an abbreviated form of the name "Bluestreak" on their license plates. Ultimately, however, Hasbro decided to rename the toy and release it as "[[Camshaft (G1)|Autobot Camshaft]]" instead, possibly because they already had a representation of the Bluestreak character in the ''Alternators'' line (Silverstreak).
