: Megatron is a Decepticon from the Unicron Trilogy continuity family. When in his powered-up form, is known as Galvatron.

Megatron is not content with conquest of Cybertron. When he learns of some power greater than his own, he does not attempt to merely defeat it. He will subjugate it, bend it to his will, carve up its corpse and integrate its power into himself. He is a monster. Megatron tempers this barbarism with regal militaristic formality. He calls his closest troops "gentlemen." He speaks politely and intelligently. He makes it perfectly clear that he is completely cognizant of his madness.

Megatron's only weakness is his obsession with Optimus Prime. No matter how much power he attains, his final, glorious battle must be against him. On the occasions Prime has seemingly been destroyed, Megatron has sunk into a deep depression. Once Optimus Prime is gone, there may be no further challenges in this universe.

Millions of years ago, the civil war on Cybertron reached a bloody stalemate as both Autobots and Decepticons augmented their forces with a race of small power-enhancing Transformers known as the Mini-Cons. In the end, a truce was settled where the Mini-Cons would be exiled, never to be used as tools of war again. However, Megatron betrayed the truce, attacking with the full force of the Decepticon fleet in an attempt to capture all the Mini-Cons in one fell swoop. The Autobots, anticipating this turn of events, launched their fleet to protect the fleeing Exodus Mini-Con ship as it warped away.

In the year 2010, Cybertron received a Mini-Con homing beacon from a small privative world known as Earth unwittingly activated by a group of human children. Megatron lead his most loyal Decepticon warriors to his planet in search of the Mini-Cons, only to discover his arch-enemy Optimus Prime had followed to stop him. First Encounter

After a tactical retreat, it was revealed that the Decepticons have established a base in the ruined hulk of the Mini-Con ship on Earth's Moon. While pondering his next move, Megatron discovered a Mini-Con storage panel buried in the moon dust. Activating it, he discovered it contained his old Mini-Con partner, Leader-1. Counting upon this as his edge over the Autobots, he reconfigured the vehicle modes of his forces and set out to capture the human children and their Mini-Con friends. After surrounding them, he was thwarted yet again by the timely arrival of Optimus Prime and the other Autobots. However, Megatron soon demonstrated the great power a Mini-Con Powerlinx bestows on a Transformer, initially overwhelming the Autobots with his sheer firepower. Metamorphosis Base

Megatron went on to run a successful campaign, regularly capturing Mini-Cons and successfully combining the first two Mini-Con weapons, the Star Saber and the Skyboom Shield. Through the machinations of his tactician, Thrust (who was at the time indirectly being manipulated by Unicron), Megatron then acquired the final weapon, the Requiem Blaster, which was with the other two served to power the newly-built Hydra Cannon. The destructive force of his new weapon was unleashed against Earth, but Optimus Prime took the blast to save the planet, killing himself in the process.

Prime's death plunged Megatron into a deep depression, having lost his greatest opponent without the chance to finish him with his own hands. Thankfully for all concerned, the Mini-Cons were able to resurrect Optimus, restoring Megatron to his former self - but he soon underwent another change that allowed him to surpass all he had been, when he was among the Transformers who had their powers boosted by their Mini-Cons. Renaming himself "Galvatron," he returned to Cybertron with a renewed vigor for conquest. However, the emergence of the threat of Unicron was ignored by Galvatron, forcing his lieutenant Starscream to sacrifice himself to make his leader see the truth, and Galvatron again came to fear the end of his war in the face of Unicron's power.

Galvatron entered Unicron's body along with Optimus Prime, and was absorbed into the demi-god's body and mind, but when the Autobots' human allies freed the Mini-Cons from Unicron's thrall, Galvatron too was freed. Believing the threat of Unicron to be over, he challenged Prime to a final duel. However, the energies released in the battle reawakened Unicron, and Galvatron saw that the only way to end the circle was to destroy himself - sacrificing his life rather than live in an era of peace, Galvatron plunged himself into Unicron's maw, and in a flash, the two seemingly ceased to exist.

Although he was believed dead by both the Autobots and Decepticons, Megatron, like Unicron, had survived the final battle, his body now a decayed husk, absorbed into the equally damaged body of Unicron, where it lay for ten years. When the being called Alpha Quintesson began his plan to re-energize Unicron, Megatron saw his opportunity, siphoning off some of the energon that Alpha Q's Terrorcons stole, working towards his own rebirth. To turn the Decepticons to his side, Alpha Q forged a sword from Megatron's spark, but when an enraged Scorponok stabbed Megatron's corpse with the blade, Megatron was born anew. Taking the sword for his own, he proceeded to take over Unicron's body, sending Alpha Q fleeing in Unicron's head, and restarted his campaign against Earth and the Autobots, seeking energon to reactivate Unicron, who he would use as the ultimate weapon.

Megatron eventually succeeded in bringing Unicron to the vicinity of Cybertron and transforming the planet-eater to robot mode. However, in an attempt to stop him, Alpha Q rammed Unicron's head, charged with the positive energon of Earth, into Unicron's body. The resultant reaction between Earth's energon and the negatively-charged energon that powered Unicron tore a rupture in reality that led to a new region of space where Alpha Q recreated all the planets Unicron had consumed. Megatron immediately saw these new worlds as targets to acquire more energon, and after another series of attacks, Megatron successfully amassed enough to fully reanimate Unicron. However, the chaos-bringer's consciousness invaded Megatron's body, taking over his mind.

Although Optimus Supreme was able to destroy Unicron's body, his mind lived on, buried within Megatron, subtly directing him to attack Cybertron and uncover a reservoir of Super Energon beneath the planet's surface. Megatron immersed himself in the powerful liquid and underwent another power boost, once again taking the name of Galvatron. Quickly acquiring control of the planet, he forced the Autobots underground with energon gas and used the planet's Energon Towers to relocate Cybertron to Alpha Q's region of space. Once there, Galvatron once again soaked himself in Super Energon, growing to a colossal height, but as he did so, Unicron's influence totally seized control of his mind and directed him out into space to re-merge with his spark. Optimus Prime forced him into a battle, knowing that Galvatron's hatred of him would force his consciousness to surface again, and when it did, Prime drained Unicron's influence from Galvatron, sealing it within himself.

Enraged by Unicron's manipulations, Galvatron intended to destroy Unicron's spark, but wound up being possessed by it once more. While struggling to fight the control of Unicron, he was confronted by Optimus Prime once again, and rather than fight him, he plunged himself into the foundling sun created by Primus, igniting the star and once again seemingly destroying himself rather than allow Unicron victory.

Cybertron
:Voice actor: David Kaye, Trevor Devall (Episode 1, "Fallen" only) (US), Jouji Nakata (Japan)

Ten years later, Primus's plan to imprison Unicron's spark at the heart of the sun ultimately failed, leading the star to collapse, creating a black hole which threatened the existence of Cybertron, and the rest of the universe. Escaping his confinement within the sun, Megatron enhanced his powers by merging his body with the remnants of Unicron's shattered form, increasing his power with the dark god's own.

As the Autobots prepared to evacuate Cybertron in the wake of disasters caused by the black hole, Megatron struck, approaching the unprotected ancient Transformer Vector Prime, and stealing a holographic map containing locations of the Cyber Planet Keys that could be used to seal the black hole. Operating out of a fiery pocket dimension, Megatron schemed to used the world-shaping power of the Cyber Planet Keys and their focal Omega Lock to accelerate the universal degeneration created by the black hole, destroying the universe and using the keys to remake it in his own image.

Leaving Starscream and Thundercracker to search for the Omega Lock on Earth, Megatron located the resting place of the first Cyber Planet Key on Velocitron, the Speed Planet. Recruiting the native troublemakers Ransack and Crumplezone to do his bidding, he deduced that the planet's racing trophy was the key. After failing to defeat planet ruler Override in a race to learn more, however, he left Ransack and Crumplezone to compete in tournaments and win the trophy and turned his attention to the Jungle Planet, home of the second Cyber Planet Key, where he ingratiated himself with planet ruler Scourge. Both missions ultimately ended in failure, however, when the Autobots acquired the keys.

Attempting to find the third key, Megatron discovered that he had been betrayed by Starscream when the planet map - in reality, a duplicate switched out by Starscream - led him to a dead sector of space and sealed him within a metallic sphere. Scourge was able to liberate him a short time later, but in that time, Starscream had obtained the third Cyber Planet Key, from Earth, for himself, along with the Omega Lock and other keys. Megatron made a beeline for his treacherous lieutenant, but was intercepted by the Autobots Hot Shot, Red Alert and Scattorshot, who intended to hold him off until the other Autobots could stop Starscream. Starscream's attempts to harness the Earth Key, however, caused a release of its energies which endowed Megatron with a new Cyber Key power - the "Death Machine Gun," which he used to mow down the Autobots in his path.

The Autobots managed to retake the keys from Starscream, but a further attack from Megatron saw the Decepticon leader steal them out from under Optimus Prime's nose and retreat into his pocket dimension. Prime pursued him through the portal and defeated him in a pitched battle, reacquiring the lock and returning to Cybertron. As Megatron attempted to follow him, Vector Prime combined his portal-opening powers with the Cyber Planet Keys and collapsed Megatron's dimension in upon itself, destroying the villain.

This was not to be the end for Megatron, however, as the power of his Unicron armor sustained him as a ghost-like entity composed of pure darkness. In this state, he rematerialized on Cybertron and used Unicron's reformatting powers to upgrade the injured Crumplezone into Dark Crumplezone. As he came under attack from the Autobot Leobreaker, his regeneration completed and his physical body was restored, even as he used the remainder of the lingering darkness to create an evil doppleganger of Leobreaker, Nemesis Breaker, out of the Autobots own dark thoughts. Merging with Nemesis Breaker to form Dark Claw Mode, Megatron battled Optimus Prime and Leobreaker's Savage Claw Mode and made a further play for the Omega Lock, until news of the location of the fourth and final Cyber Planet Key led him to withdraw.

Guided through a spatial warp by the mysterious Soundwave to Gigantion, the Giant Planet, home of the final key, Megatron engaged the world's leader, Metroplex, in battle. Much to his surprise, however, he was utterly defeated in seconds. Consumed with rage, the power of Unicron within his armor reached out and detected the energies of the Giant Planet's Cyber Planet Key, drawing upon them and infusing Megatron's body with them. Attacking the Autobots in a dark, shadowed form, he decimated most of their forces before being confronted by Optimus Prime and completing his transformation - once again, Megatron had become Galvatron.

After taking revenge on Metroplex, Galvatron joined the race to acquire the Giant Play key, which included a rematch the reborn Hot Shot, Red Alert and Scattorshot. Yet again, the Autobots were able to acquire the key, but Galvatron then stole the completed Omega Lock, only to be attacked by Starscream, who battled with Galvatron for possession of the artifact. Galvatron ultimately claimed victory in the battle, with the sheer amount of energy released in the clash actually blasting Starscream (Along with Sideways and Soundwave who were trying to nick the lock) into another universe. With the lock and keys now in his hands, Galvatron returned to the Black Hole, where he was confronted and finally defeated by the five planet leaders.

Having had ultimate power torn from his grasp, Galvatron contemplated giving up. He was then spoken to by Starscream's spirit, who said that if he was to give up just like that, then he was "no Unicron." Starscream vanished but stayed as a memory. His crown, left floating in space after his demise, came to Galvatron, who clenched it close. He realized that his former lieutenant was right and decided to continue his conquest (presumably keeping the crown as a trophy). He challenged Optimus Prime to one final duel. Battling on Cybertron's moon, Galvatron generated a massive blade of dark energy, which Prime countered with Vector Prime's sword. As the two old enemies charged towards each other in a final strike, Prime impaled Galvatron, whose body crumbled and dissolved as he met his end once and for all.

In a montage sequence at the conclusion of the series, however, Galvatron's evil proved eternal, as, beyond the veil of time and space, his spark battled with that of Vector Prime.
Armada
Megatron is the cold, calculating, and above all powerful and dangerous leader of the Decepticons. Despite this, he occasionally rushes into situations without thinking; on one such occasion he was sealed in a security room and tortured nearly to death by Leader-1. Later, after Optimus Prime's sudden disappearance, he ordered an attack on Autobase, critically wounding Smokescreen in the process. When Unicron attacked, Megatron attempted to gain power from the chaos bringer. However, Hot Shot, Red Alert, and Scavenger met him there and blasted him into Unicron in order to avenge Smokescreen's recent near-death experience.

Energon
Though his body was meticulously and painfully disassembled and cannibalized by Unicron's defense systems, his consciousness survived within Unicron's spark core. In secret, he constructed a new body for himself and, after teleporting Optimus Prime into Unicron and convincing him to shut down some sensors, returned to Earth and destroyed Scorponok. Ironhide was worried that Megatron would kill him too, but Megatron told him that he wanted him alive so that he could tell everyone that he had returned.<br>

At an unknown point in time, Megatron ordered Snow Cat, Slugslinger, and Sharkticon to attack Ocean City. Each of them failed in various embarrassing ways, then lied about it afterward in an attempt to defend their failures.
:: Part of the largest Transformers series Built to Rule set, Megatron can be assembled into a battle tank, a robot, or whatever your imagination can do with the blocks provided. Megatron is armed with a dual missile launcher based upon the Mini-Con activated version on the regular Ultra class toy. He came with a block-version of his Mini-Con parter Leader-1, as well as Cyclonus with Crumplezone model.

:Energon Megatron transforms into a off-white gray and blue Cybertronic jet superficially resembling the vehicle mode of Generation 1 Cyclonus. Included is a small representation of Armada Megatron's tank form, which can plug onto the top of the vehicle mode and can also fire missiles out of its spring-loaded main gun, which also activates an (oddly) machine gun sound effect. Hyper Mode can be activated by raising the upper gray parts of his wings in an 'X-wing' configuration, which extends the translucent green weapons underneath.

:In robot mode Megatron greatly resembles Generation 1 Galvatron in general appearance and in that character's original toy's Megatron-based color scheme. The two cannons on his shoulders are typically displayed pointing upwards to evoke the appearance of Megatron's previous Armada body, but they can be lowered into firing position. The small tank accessory can be attached to either of his arms as a cannon, or it can be flipped around and have a sword attached to the rear of its turret. The sword connection is spring-loaded, and movement front the sword will activate a sword clashing sound effect and light up an LED inside.

: In the United States, this figure was initially only available at Wal-Mart stores, and saw a wider release shortly after.

: As part of the "Powerlinx Battles" line refresh, Hasbro's Super class Megatron was extensively redecoed to resemble Generation 1 Galvatron as much as possible, except for the fact the shade of purple used isn't right. His predominant color is (naturally) purple, with black plastic and extensive use of metallic silver and metallic red paint for detailing. All translucent plastic was replaced with orange.

: The Energon Star and Energon sword found with Doom-Lock are an excellent match with the orange parts found in Galvatron.

:Cybertron Megatron transforms into a multi-colored Cybertronic race car and jet. In car mode he resembles a dragster, with large rolling wheels and a comparatively small cockpit. Separating the front halves of the car and flipping them to the sides, connecting them to the hole in the middle of his real wheels transforms him into his jet thing. Okay. Inserting a Cyber Planet Key into his central slot above his cockpit canopy activates a spring-loaded, pop up engine with red LEDs.

:In robot mode Megatron's design is partially based upon Armada Unicron's design, with very similar shoulders and arms, though the retention of Unicron's trademark orange leads to a rather chaotic color scheme (how appropriate). In contrast to the previous two major Unicron Trilogy toys Megatron has had, Cybertron Megatron features excellent articulation, though his top-heavy design puts some strain on the ratcheting joints in his ankles. Inserting a Cyber Key into the slot on the vehicle halve behind his right shoulder opens up a panel to access a rotating gatling gun weapon made up of his left front car wheel (this weapon was called a Death Machine Gun in Japan). Inserting a Cyber Key into his slot on the vehicle halve behind his left should opens up another panel and detaches his Unicron Spines melee weapon, which can attach onto his left forearm. He can also combine with Nemesis Breaker for the Dark Claw Mode seen in like, one episode, though his balance in this form is tenuous at best.

: The Japanese version of this figure uses different paint applications and a significantly lighter purple than the American version released months later.
: Cybertron Galvatron is a silver and black redeco of Leader class Cybertron Megatron. The color scheme is based upon Generation 1 Megatron. It is notable that in contrast to most Transformers toys, most of the parts designated silver are fully painted silver. His arms contain a hard point for connecting Nemesis Breaker, just like that one time they did it and never mentioned it ever again.

: The Takara version uses yellow paint details (and was also packaged in a "special" box), while the Hasbro release used metallic gold.
: Released as an exclusive for Dengeki Hobby magazine in September 2005, this redeco of the Legends of Cybertron class Megatron is a fairly intricate recreation of the Leader class Galvatron's color scheme and paint operations.
: It is worth noting that while this mold was first released earlier in 2006 as part of the Beast Wars 10th Anniversary line and is obviously meant to be Beast Wars Megatron, it was developed to fit in with Cybertron's Jungle Planet aesthetic, "in case" the Beast Wars Anniversary release didn't pan out (according to Aaron Archer's statements at 2005).
:Attack Type: Shooter (Energy Blast)

: This version of Attacktix Megatron is based on his Cybertron robot form. Despite being called an "Energy Blast" (Attacktix terminology was all created based on Star Wars), his missile is actually designed to resemble the tire section of his gatling gun. The angled missile works best by positioning it to oppose the angle of the stance of the figure you're aiming at.

: Megatron is designed to work with his Vehicle Mode figure, bringing a Vehicle Mode Megatron into play from your back-ups. He has four points of articulation (head, waist and shoulders), which he can use to form a defensive tripod by angling his gun arm down behind him.
:Attack Type: Shooter (Small missile)

: Megatron's Vehicle mode is based on his jet form rather than his car form. In this form he has a ridiculously huge cannon (it's almost the size of the jet) which can swivel at its base - the only point of articulation on the figure.

: Megatron's speed is unusually high for a shooter, and his very reliable power makes him an effective support figure. Because of the wording of his power he can bring into play any figure named Megatron, including the Generation 1 Megatron figure, from your backups.
Trivia
* A conceptual drawing in the Micron Legend Yearbook 2003 showed Armada Megatron as originally being more weapon-laden and certifiably able to kill you to death.

*Also in the Micron Legend Yearbook 2003, Armada Megatron's cannon's concept art specifically notes that there is a "'80s Galvatron" homage sculpted on the barrel.

* A different development sketch in the Yearbook revealed that "Gigatron" was one of Armada Megatron's working names.

* According to Aaron Archer as ORSON on the now-defunct "Orson's World" forum at TFW2005.com, Armada Megatron's "antlers" were part of an aborted Mini-Con grabber gimmick. The gimmick didn't make it, but the antlers remained.

* Also according to Archer, the chin on Armada Megatron is supposed to look like a pair of fangs to play up the character's evil nature. How well this was actually pulled off in the final sculpt is debatable.

* When a fan asked him why Energon Megatron was not named Galvatron, owing to continuity with the Armada series and the obvious visual homage in the figure's design, Archer explained that it was due to Hasbro needing to protect their trademarks, as well as Megatron being a more recognizable (and thus marketable) product name. He added that he personally wanted to call the toy Galvatron Imperius.
* According to the Armada Playstation 2 game instruction booklet, Megatron's Armada body has the following statistics:
:Height: 22' 11" (8' 3" vehicle mode)
:Weight: 106,925 lbs
:Power: 1,600 hp
:Vehicle top speed: 50mph

* During his stint on the Armada comic, it seems Pat Lee may have been referring to the original Hasbro stock photo of a mis-assembled Megatron toy (seen on the right), as he consistently draws Megatron's feet as being flipped with the "grates" from the tops of the feet facing forward.
Summary
As Inferno records in his personal log, over the past several months the Autobots under the command of Optimus Prime have been on edge due to the ceaseless attacks by the Terrorcons. As the enemy swooped down on Snow City, Inferno's command, he believed that this time the Autobots were ready for them, Snow City's defensive cannons blasting the Divebomb drones out of the sky. On the moon, Jetfire leads Terrorcons over the remains of the Autobot base where cannons appear out of the ground, swiftly destroying the drones. At Canyon City, Ironhide uses a similar tactic to lure Battle Ravage drones into the firing line of artillery cannons embedded into canyon rock. Alpha Quintesson expressed frustration at the new defenses on Earth preventing their quest to secure energon.

At Jungle City in the Amazon, as they watch Skyblast Omnicons install defense cannons into the city, Kicker congratulated Misha on coming up with the idea to use energon to power their weapons. She dejectedly responded that in truth, that idea was unintentional, as she was researching peaceful usages for energon. Kicker tried to cheer her up by explaining that their weapons are to defend themselves. As Misha explained what a mentor Dr Jones had been to her, Kicker senses an imminent attack on their location. Outside, Optimus Prime defended Jungle City against the first wave of Terrorcons lead by the treacherous Cyclonus. As the city explodes around them, the Omnicons were annoyed at interruptions to their important work. Misha ordered the human crew to open their unfinished artillery bays and fire on the enemy. The Omnicons finally complete work, but the humans need to wait for their energon levels to rise.

[[Image:EnergonMegatron_punishScorponok.jpg|right|thumb|150px|Meet my subordinates...
...General Foot and Major Fist!]]

Kicker lassoed a Battle Ravage drone and allowed it to lead him to Jungle City's energon mines and sniff out the energon for the grateful Omnicons. With their power at maximum, the defensive artillery send Scorponok, Tidal Wave and the surviving Terrorcons packing. Inferno and Ironhide arrived via the Space Bridge soon after the enemy retreat, with the younger Autobot expressing disapointment at missing out on battle.

Inside Unicron, Alpha Quintesson angrily berated Scorponok for their defeat, stating that they don't have enough energon to revive Megatron, and even more for Unicron. Inside the cavern with Megatron's corpse, Cyclonus and Tidal Wave apologise to their dead leader for not securing the energon needed to revive him. Cyclonus then told Tidal Wave that they will never revive Megatron, kicking his leader's corpse. Suddenly, Megatron's voice filled the cavern, telling his former minion to stop doing that. When Tidal Wave defended Megatron, Cyclonus reminded him how badly they were always treated and that he preferred Megatron to stay this way, kicking the corpse again. And again Megatron asked Cyclonus what he just said. Scorponok entered brandishing Megatron's spark-sword, claiming that Megatron has been stealing their energon reserves and intended to rectify the problem to the shock of Cyclonus and Tidal Wave. Megatron began to drain energon from Unicron, prompting stab the spark sword into Megatron's chest, stopping the energy flow. Suddenly, the energon drain violently restarted, and pulled the spark sword completely into Megatron's chest. As the other Transformers watched in awed shock, Megatron burst out of his old body like an insect in a cacoon.

Megatron demanded to know who had dared use his power, and promised the transgressor would pay for their disrespect. Quickly destroying Scorponok's summoned Divebomb drones, Megatron tore off the Terrorcon general's tail and proceeded to beat him into a mangled pulp. Forcing Scorponok into submission, he branded the Terrorcon with a Decepticon symbol then forced him to lead Megatron to Alpha Quintesson. Realising that Megatron had taken control of the Terrorcons, Alpha Quintesson runs to what appears to be a dead end. As Megatron gloated, Alpha defiantly declared that while Megatron may have been stealing their energon, only the Quintesson had been carrying out Unicron's agenda. With that, the section Alpha Quintesson had taken refuge in split apart from the rest of Unicron's body, revealing itself to be the Chaos Bringer's head. Megatron could only watch as the head warps itself to destinations unknown, but quickly declared to his men that they should forget the treacherous alien and concentrate on attacking the Autobots and securing energon, despite Scorponok's advice of extreme caution.

At Ocean City, Kicker demand the Space Bridge be opened, for radar had picked up an attack on Plain City. Despite Ironhide's assurances that Hot Shot would be able to handle it, Kicker doubted that they could deal with the new threat. At the batttle of Plain City, Megatron holds the battered Scorponok as his personal shield against the Autobot defense artillery before throwing the Terrorcon commander into the water below. On the ground, Hot Shot could not believe his optics as Megatron flew into his line of fire. It was the next morning as reinforcements arrived at the devasted Plain City, greeted by a victorious Megatron. Noting their obvious surprise, Megatron tossed Hot Shot's stasis-locked body at the Autobots' feet, to the shock of Ironhide.
Other Notes
Animation and/or technical glitches
* When Ironhide rubs his nose, his forearm clips right through his chest.
* This is one of several early episodes where Misha is referred to as Mika.
* When Optimus Prime appears at the beginning of this episode in vehicle mode, his front wheels are missing.
* Not really a glitch or mistake, but the animators cheated by having Optimus Prime's transformation into robot mode covered by an explosion.
* After Megatron picks Scorponok up by his head, as the camera pans down to reveal Megatron's fist hitting Scorponok's chest, Megatron's own chest is missing his Decepticon symbol.
* When Ironhide reacts to Kicker's panic of the attack on Plain City, his bicep clips through his forearm as he bends his right arm.
* The left arm Megatron uses to toss Hot Shot to the Autobots is disembodied, not connected to anything, and it immediately dissapears after Hot Shot has left his hand.

Continuity errors
* After transforming, Optimus Prime turns to his trailer, which then tips over to launch his Prime Force drones. For some reason Optimus Prime's order for them to deploy is not dubbed in.
* When Optimus Prime combines with his drones into Super Mode, actor Garry Chalk does not enough time to order Submarine Four to combine before the footage cuts to the next segment of the stock footage.
* It is not clear why Alpha Quintesson claims they were to resurrect Megatron, yet sent Scorponok to eliminate him.
* It is unclear why Optimus Prime's reinforcements took so long to reach Plain City.

Transformers references
*When Alpha Quintesson escapes from Megatron, Unicron's head detaches from his body, a visual homage to the Unicron's destruction in the 1986 Transformers animated movie.

Real-world references
Miscellaneous trivia
* When Jungle City's defense cannons reveal themselves, Tidal Wave reacts with a comical anime giant sweatdrop, one of the few times the Unicron Trilogy series used traditional anime visual gags.

Summary
The Maximals use their tools to garden, trimming the wild bean vines that have grown around the Maximal base, and as Dinobot explains, could be explointed by the Predacons. Rattrap and Dinobot get into a fight. Inside, Rhinox detects Predacons coming to attack, and can't activate the Sentinel sheilds because of the two Maximals outside preoccupied with each other. Rhinox comes down the elevator with his guns ablaze, and commands the two to get inside, but the two are too busy arguing to obey. Trying to cover his teammate's withdrawl, Rhinox is hit by a strange weapon from Tarantulas. Dinobot blasts Tarantulas several times, and with the crucial shot fires, the Predacons retreat.

Inside, the Axalon's computer reports on the strange effect the device had on Rhinox - giving him a disease that causes the larger Maximal to "spontaneously discharge energy." Rhinox demonstrates this by hiccuping energy beams around the base, causing much collateral damage. It's decided a counter-virus must be found.

Rattrap and Dinobot attempt to trail the injured Tarantulas. The two get into an argument about who is to blame for Rhinox becoming sick as he is, which quickly degenerates into name-calling. Eventually forgetting why they started the arguement, the two follow his Tarantulas's scent. Running after a glimpse of the Predacon, the two fall thought a hole and onto a long slide - with a heavy boulder close behind the two. But after landing at the bottom of the slide, the boulder actual hits Tarantulas. Rattrap and Dinobot continue to bickering as they search through the underground for Tarantulas's lab.

Abord the Axalon, Optimus reveals to Cheetor that he paired the two together so they can learn to work together or kill each other. Rhinox is meanwhile kept on a life suppose system which drains energy from the rest of the (now heavily damaged) Maximal base.

Back at the Predacons base, Megatron sends his own forces to reclaim Tarantulas, so more of the virus can be developed to use on the rest of the Maximals. They head to his labratory to see if they can locate the missing arachnid there. On Tarantulas's security sensors, Blackarachnia notices the two wandering Maximal's making their way through the caverns towards Tarantulas's hideout.

Primal rallies his available soldiers for action against the Predacons to forcibly seize the antidote to Rhinox's ailment. Rhinox attempts to come along with the others, but Primal orders his friend to stay behind and perhaps consume some food to help stabilize his systems. Naturally, the first option on Rhinox's menu happens to be the wild beans conveniently surrounding the Axalon.

Back in Tarantulas's lair, Blackarachnia also discovers where Tarantulas stored the counter-virus. When Scorponok detects the two Maximals getting closer, the Predacon goons open fire, wildly hoping to hit something, but instead just ruin any chance they have of ambushing their targets. Dinobot tries to use Tarantulas as a hostage, but this tactic doesn't work on Megatron, who has no reservations about abusing his own soldiers. However the distract has bought Rattrap (who was supposed to be covering Dinobot) the time to sneak through some tubes to arrive behind the Predacons, where he is close enough to quickly disarm them.

A nasal energon-expulsion from Rhinox provides a hole for the other Maximals to enter the chamber once they finish posing heroically. Megatron mentions that he alone has the counter-virus that could save Rhinox.

But then Rhinox shoots an incredible energon fart (visible from space) that blows the Predacons far away, giving the Maximals the chance to grab the counter-virus and live happily ever after. Rattrap and Dinobot still bicker like kids, though.

Quotes
Rattrap: Gearhead.<br>
Dinobot: Eater of cheese.<br>
Rattrap: Pre-historic birdbrain.<br>
Dinobot: Eater of garbage.

Rattrap: So, you got a better plan?<br>
Dinobot: No, but I still despise the idea of expiring underground. It lacks... a warrior's nobility.<br>
Rattrap: Oh, well, don't worry. 'Cause I ain't lettin' nobody waste you down here! That's a job I'm reserving for myself!<br>
Dinobot: Ooh, I appreciate the concern, but let me assure you, being shot in the back by a malodorous mouse would not exactly earn me a seat in Silicon Valhalla!

Dinobot: This foul smelling place should feel home to you vermin.<br>
Rattrap: Well it doesn't smell as bad as your breath.<br>
Dinobot: You best get used to that smell WHEN I BITE YOUR USELESS HEAD OFF!<br>
Tarantulas: DIE MAXIMALS!<br>
Dinobot and Rattrap: SHUT UP!<br>
They both punch Tarantulas.

Megatron: A bargaining chip shall remain in play until the game is over.<br>
Blackarachnia: Why do you always talk to yourself?<br>
Megatron: Ah, I simply have a penchant for ahem intelligent conversation.

Dinobot:(Holding Tarantulas up) Do not fire, Megatron! I...have a HOSTAGE!

Megatron: (Feigning being impressed) Why so you do.... (Shoots Tarantulas)

before<br>
Rhinox: Wild bean vines, hard to digest.<br>
Megatron: "Do not turn you back on me, Maximal scum!<br>
Rhinox completes his turn, raises his tail, and...<br>
Megatron: Oh no, not that!<br>

after<br>
Megatron: This is certainly the most humiliating defeat of my entire career. Yess...

Notes
*The virus which infected Rhinox and which Megatron intended to use to infect the rest of the Maximals was never mentioned again. But can you blame him for washing his hands of the entire affair?
*The wild bean vine growth outside of the Axalon could have been caused by the severe rain the area received during the storm last episode.
*Rhinox dons a beer-hat style contraption from which to sip his treatment.
*Farts are funny. Hence, this episode is very funny if you like farts. And who doesn't?
*Rattrap actually does eat garbage.
*In this episode Blackarachina mentions that Tranatulas encrypted all the information on his computers, somewhat foreshadowing that he had something to hide.
