The Wreckers were introduced in UK continuity (neither the team, nor any of its members really appeared in the US stories) during the Target: 2006 storyline.

The initial roster of the Wreckers consisted of Impactor (the leader), Roadbuster, Whirl, Twin-Twist, Topspin and Rack'n'Ruin. During the Target:2006 storyline, they were joined by Broadside, Sandstorm and Springer (who became the team's leader after Impactor's death). After UK #100, both Roadbuster and Whirl appear to be absent from the team. Roadbuster reappears amongst the Wreckers in the Time Wars storyline, but Whirl is never seen again. From UK #188 onwards, it appears that Inferno is also a member of the team.

Of the two Duocons, Battletrap is the sane one. In contrast to Flywheels, whose two components are constantly bickering, Battletrap uses the two separate vehicles of his alternate mode in concert with each other. He likes to play with his target in the way a housecat might play with a rodent...that is, if said housecat happened to have a separate avian part of itself that could fly like a hummingbird.

Fiction
Marvel Comics continuity.
Generation 1
Battletrap was a member of the original Mayhem Attack Squad, and took part in their joint mission with the Wreckers to destroy Galvatron in the Time Wars storyline. He is one of the first warriors to fall during the battle, his chest torn open by Galvatron before being smashed against a wall.

Despite his apparent "death", Battletrap later reappeared on Cybertron during the battle with Unicron. He survived, and also narrowly escaped death at the hands of subterranean Cybertronian monsters shortly after.

He then regularly appeared as one of Bludgeon's more prominent warriors.

Generation 2
In the first battle between the two generations of Decepticons, Battletrap was badly wounded and had to be carried back to safety inside of Warworld. He is not seen again.
Marvel Comics continuity
:Events from UK-only stories are italicized.

With Galvatron and Megatron teamed up on Earth and a rift in time and space threatenning to destroy all reality the Decepticons on Cybertron were getting desperate. The Mayhem Attack Squad were teamed with the Autobots' Wreckers and sent to earth in a Decepticon ship to bring down Galvatron and Megatron. Secretly the Mayhems were under orders to kill any surviving Wreckers once the threat of Galvatron and Megatron was over.

Once on Earth the two teams joined with the advance scouts Broadside, Inferno and Sandstorm, and moved to attack Galvatron in his lair.

The battle could have gone... better than it did.

Galvatron embedded his hand in Battletrap's chest, cannon-blasted Venom and by the time the first skirmish was over only Carnivac, Flywheels and Catilla remained alive.

As the battle was moved above ground Carnivac had a change of heart about killing Springer or letting him die when Springer saved his life.

The battle escalated, as more and more Autobots and Decepticons joined. Ultimately it was neither Wrecker nor Mayhem that would destroy Galvatron, but a rift in time and space.

With the Time Wars over the two surviving Mayhem Attack Squad members found themselves stranded on Earth because Megatron stole their ship to return to Cybertron!

The surviving Mayhems joined with the surviving Wreckers and the stray Autobots Inferno and Skids to form a new team called The Survivors.

Shortly after this Carnivac teamed with Snarler (with Catilla observing) on a mission for Scorponok. The three were given Pretender shells as a reward. Snarler, however, was not impressed when the two former Mayhems refused to rejoin the Decepticons.

Snarler returned to Cybertron and set about recruiting a new Mayhem Attack Squad to destroy Carnivac and Catilla.

While they succeeded in destroying Catilla, they were soon hunted down with a vengeance by Carnivac. Along with his allies the Survivors and Grimlock's Earthforce, Carnivac saw to it that all the members of the Mayhem Attack Squad were either killed or captured.

The three surviving members, Blugeon, Octopunch and Stranglehold, managed to escape from Earthforce by being quiet.

On Cybertron the Mayhem Attack Squad - Bludgeon, Stranglehold, and Octopunch - were assigned to assassinate the Autobot Pretenders Bumblebee, Jazz, and Grimlock. Yesterday's Heroes!

After initially failing to kill the Autobots, the Squad was accidentally sent deep inside Cybertron along with the Autobots. The two groups met inside a huge chamber containing a sleeping Primus, and promptly set about trying to kill each other.

After the Squad had been utterly crushed, Octopunch made one final attack against a distracted Grimlock, which was deflected by Grimlocks armor and ended up hitting Primus in the face. Consequently, Primus awoke, drawing Unicron to his ancient enemy's location.
Trivia
* Flywheels and Battletrap are the only team members to have appeared prior to the Mayhem Attack Squad's debut in Time Wars, part 3. It is unknown whether they were part of the team at this time.
* Flywheels is not seen again after the Time Wars story arc. Though he is never seen to be killed, he may have been so "off-screen" at some point in the battle.
* Although Flywheels vanishes after Time Wars, Battletrap - who WAS seen to die - reappears later in both the post-Unicron US issues and in Generation 2, among Bludgeon's forces.

:Venom is a Decepticon Insecticon in the Generation 1 continuity family.

Venom is the official leader of the Insecticons, but he's so paranoid about one of the others trying to usurp his position that he does more damage to his own standing among them than most of the plots they might hatch against him. He trusts none of them and suspects everyone of being after his place. He wont hesitate to utilize his manipulative and destructive psychological warfare techniques on those under him to stay in power.

Fiction
Marvel UK Comics continuity
Venom and his teammates in the elite Mayhem Attack Squad were sent to aid the Wreckers against the team of Megatron and Galvatron. Despite the Mayhems' reputation, however, they were no match for their opponents, and Venom was slain by Galvatron shortly after the battle began. Twice.

Dreamwave comics continuity
8.2 million years ago, Chop Shop participated in Shockwave's assault on Iacon. The War Within, Part 3 He presumably retreated with the rest of the Decepticons when Starscream activated the planetary engines, devastating the city.

After the fragmentation of the Decepticon forces following Megatron's seeming destruction in a space bridge accident, Venom joined Ratbat's Ultracons. He accompanied Ratbat and fellow Ultracons Chop Shop and Ransack on a mission to the Tagan Heights, where they unleashed the deadly Devastator on the Wreckers. Capturing the Wreckers' leader Springer, the Ultracons were prevented from executing him when Devastator's battle with Defensor raged out of control. The Dark Ages, Part 2 In the chaos that ensued, Venom and his allies escaped, leaving Devastator behind. The Dark Ages, Part 3

Later, Venom, Chop Shop, and Barrage were involved in an altercation with Ultra Magnus, Blaster, and Grimlock. Venom also accompanied his leader to the Autobot/Decepticon peace ceremony at Tyger Pax. The Age of Wrath, Part 1

Venom, along with Barrage, Chop Shop, and Ransack, remained on Cybertron following the departure of the Ark and the Nemesis. The planet's chronic energon shortage reduced them to a vampiric existence, forcing them to capture Micromasters and drain them of their fuel. While pursuing Falcon and Flanker in the Wastelands, they ran into the middle of a conflict between the Hot Rod Patrol and Race Track Patrol. Destined For Nothing

After devouring Falcon they soon set upon the other Micromasters, but were driven back by the timely arrival of Groundshaker, who left with the Hot Rod Patrol. The subsequent arrival of Shockwave prevented them from devouring the Race Track Patrol, but he did surreptitiously toss them Flanker as a snack once the others had left. The Gray Race The Insecticons subsequently abducted the Race Track Patrol and several other Micromasters from Little Iacon, in an attempt to ferret out the Hot Rod Patrol and gain some new recruits in the process. He berated Chop Shop after he accidentally snatched Road Hugger, accusing him of trying to undermine the mission. As he attempted to persuade his captives to join the Decepticons, he ordered Barrage to blast Blaze Master as a show of force. Taking his captives and recruits back to Decepticon HQ, Venom passed along a communique from Shockwave (actually a disguised Skystalker) to Barricade and his team-mates, summoning them to his quarters. Recipe For Hate While attempting to stop an invasion force of Micromasters from freeing their comrades, Venom was skewered by a revived Blaze Master. Victims of the Revolution

Devil's Due G.I. Joe vs the Transformers comics continuity
As part of Serpent O.R.'s forces, Venom defended the New Decepticon Army's base against a combined Autobot/G.I. Joe strike force. During the battle, he and Barrage were pounded on by Snarl and Storm Shadow. The Art of War, Part 5
Toys
Generation 1
*Venom (Deluxe Insecticon, 1985)

: Venom transforms into a robotic cicada. He comes with a small blaster and an axe, and is one of the few Deluxe Insecticons whose arms actually let him aim either in any useful manner.

Trivia
* Venom's toy was originally from the Japanese Takatoku Beetras line, which by 1985 had been purchased by Bandai, who licensed the molds used to make the Deluxe Insecticons to Hasbro. Since Bandai and Takara are rivals, they were not part of the Japanese Transformers line and did not appear in the cartoon.

* Cicadas have no venom. They don't even bite or sting.

* Venom has shown no evidence in any fiction of a desire to eat your brains.
