Fusing with various creatures and vehicles and wearing the face of [[Megatron (G1)|Megatron]], the vicious Legion army has converged on the city of [[Tokyo]], the site of Galvatron's catastrophic impact.

They appear to have fluid-filled organic components and enjoy the taste of sweet, sweet [[Kiss Player]] flesh. In a way, they're kind of symbolic of the average person who bought the Kiss Players mangas. They're kind of horrible.

Following a presumably Legion-related subway attack in Japan, a lone Legion member came upon a bleakly despairing [[Atari Hitotonari]] and offered to end her suffering by killing her. Cornering the panicked girl, it was about to make good on its offer when the Ne-04 [[Autrooper]] interfered. When the Autrooper disgorged the unconscious Kiss Player [[Shao-Shao Li]], Atari merged with it and quickly beheaded the Legion, seemingly terminating it.

Shao later awoke to find herself a prisoner in one of several tubes containing very alive and hungry Legion heads in the basement of [[Earth Defense Command]] headquarters. It appears that the E.D.C. has been conducting human experimentation on captured Legion units for an unknown purpose.

Another Legion that attacked [[Marissa Faireborn]] at sea was described by [[Optimus Prime (G1)|Optimus Prime]] as a [[ParasiTech]] fusion between an octopus and a shipwreck. As ParasiTech fusions are also used by the Autroopers of the [[Earth Defense Command]], it may be that there is a connection between the two. A SINISTER one.

Less than six months after joining the E.D.C., Atari ate an omelette (which she had prepared) that contained a miniaturized Legion. The surprisingly communicative and wacky intestinal invader was engaged and defeated by Atari's shrunken Autrooper and dissolved in the girl's digestive acids. There was, astoundingly, nothing psychosexual about the encounter beyond this.

A group of 23 Legions attacked the recently reconstructed Tokyo Bay Bridge, but were defeated by the combined efforts of [[Hot Rod]] and Shao-Shao, though not before repeatedly attempting to molest Shao with their tentacles.

Recently, a black-haired girl with black clothes and a pained appearance has been observed in Legion company. Though her body heat did not show up on Hot Rod's thermograph, it is possible that she is the first identified Kiss Player for the Legion army.

A '''kiss''' is a peculiar sort of [[human]] bonding ritual involving (sometimes mutual) oral contact. The reasons for this strange phenomenon are usually beyond the typical [[Transformer]]'s understanding, resulting in many an uncomfortable line of questioning. Are these fleshlings transmitting data? Is it an energy-transferral process? Why are they doing it in [[Bumblebee|my back seat]]?

The plot thickens. When properly administered by the [[Kiss Player|correct agent]], a kiss can provide an incredibly potent power boost to Transformers, with occasionally unpredictable results.

It has been stated on a few occasions that the kiss is an act of atonement for past perceived misdeeds. However, this information comes from a very small dataset, specifically the individual human named [[Jessie]]. While in the company of [[Buster Witwicky]], she has repeatedly described the act of kissing as "apologizing." Marissa Faireborn was sent to retrieve the two and their cargo, but alien [[lipole]]s native to Io destroyed her spacecraft, stranding her as well. Another Quintesson experiment, one intended to alter the past to benefit themselves, sent unstable chronal energy across the universe. This caused Marissa to temporarily age-regress into an infant.

Marissa had a short affair with smuggler [[Dirk Manus]], who was attempting to transport a highly-experimental [[molecular recreator]] to the Quintessons. Though their feelings were mutual, he was merely using her trust to help pull off a heist. Marissa discovered his scheme, and with the [[Technobot|Technobots']] help (and some double-crossing by Manus) foiled the Quintessons' plans. Though Manus got away from the authorities, she had switched his booty with mimic dust. Despite losing a fortune, Dirk was amused and impressed at Marissa's doublecross.

Later, Marissa attempted to console a depressed [[Rodimus Prime]] during a visit to [[Japan]], when they were suddenly attacked by [[Dead End (G1)|Dead End]] and [[Wildrider]]. Rodimus was run off the road, and before Marissa could come to his aid, the Decepticons had escaped with the [[Matrix of Leadership]].

As [[Bumper]] and [[Warpath]] attempted to haul the deactivated bodies of [[Jazz]], [[Sideswipe (G1)|Sideswipe]], [[Sunstreaker]], [[Windcharger (G1)|Windcharger]], and [[Wheeljack (G1)|Wheeljack]] out of an [[Oregon]] lake, they were arrested by Commander Marissa Faireborn and a legion of [[Earth Defense Command|EDC]] troops. After taking them into custody, Fairborne recruited Jazz, Sunstreaker, Sideswipe, and Bumper to accompany her and the EDC [[Night Force]] to [[San Desto]].

A sweep of the town uncovered no sign of its inhabitants. Marissa established a good rapport with Jazz, and instructed her troops to follow his orders as they would hers. Soon enough, they were attacked by an army of [[Insecticon (G1)|Insecticon]] clones, who decimated the EDC troops and captured Bumper. Jazz and Marissa managed to escape to a garage, where they found a veritable abbatoir of human and bovine remains. The Insecticons tracked them down, forcing them to flee into a subterranean egg chamber, which Jazz promptly torched. This prompted an attack from an enraged [[Shrapnel (G1)|Shrapnel]], but Sideswipe and Sunstreaker managed to cover Jazz and Marissa's escape back to the surface. Once there, they were confronted with more Insecticon clones and the [[cerebro-shell]]-controlled human citizens of San Desto. While the Autobots were unwilling to risk killing the helpless thralls, Marissa waded into the army with fists flying. Further bloodshed was prevented, however, when Bumper took out [[Bombshell]], neutralizing both clones and slaves. Back at EDC headquarters, Marissa saw Jazz and the rest of the Autobots off.

As a result of Marissa and Jazz's shared battle experience, their strong mutual respect may have blossomed into a romantic attraction. This was outwardly obvious enough to inspire Sideswipe to refer to Marissa as Jazz's girlfriend.

: Available only as part of the headliner ''[[Kiss Players]]'' set, Marissa's only toy is a soft-plastic PVC figurine designed mainly to sit demurely on the robot-mode shoudler of her partner [[Optimus Prime (G1)|Convoy]]. Unlike the previous human-partner PVCs from the ''[[Binaltech Asterisk]]'' line, Marissa is pre-posed in a sitting position, and while she can be used to ride inside Convoy's vehicle-mode driver/passenger compartment, her hands cannot go on the steering wheel. She comes with a surfboard (that she really can't use) that becomes a sword for Convoy. The set also comes with a CD containing episodes of the ''Kiss Players'' radio drama as well as artwork from series illustrator and character designer [[Oshima Yuki]].

: This set was originally intended for release in the ''Binaltech Asterisk'' line as "[[Nemesis Prime (G1)|Black Convoy]] meets Marissa", but was cancelled due to low sales of the previous toys before it was even ''officially'' solicited. How much difference there is between the planned ''Asterisk'' version of Marissa and the final ''Kiss Players'' version is currently unknown.
