==Detailed synopsis==
At the [[Experimental Energy Research Laboratories]], two scientists are working on the new [[electro-cell]]s that will hopefully solve [[Earth]]'s energy problems. Unfortunately, the, cells won't be viable until they've been stabilized, which could result in a massive explosion. At that moment, [[Starscream (G1)|Starscream]] and [[Skywarp (G1)|Skywarp]] tear through the roof and take the cells. [[Megatron (G1)|Megatron]] arrives to remove the cells carefully, as an explosion could be quite destructive, and the [[Seeker]]s are not known for being gentle. Having taken the cells, Megatron [[Transformation|transforms]] and has Starscream fire away, destroying the lab to prevent any more from being created.

Meanwhile, [[Cliffjumper (G1)|Cliffjumper]] is tearing toward the [[Ark (G1)|Autobot base]]. Heading into the control room, he informs [[Optimus Prime (G1)|Optimus Prime]] that he's found where the [[Decepticon]]s have placed the electro-cells—in the same place Mirage patrolled yesterday. Mirage is shocked that he didn't get a reading on them, and Cliffjumper says that maybe Mirage ''did''. Before any formal accusations are made, Optimus Prime politely tells Cliffjumper to shut up. The [[Prime (rank)|Autobot leader]] then leads a team to recover the cells.

At a canyon, the Decepticons have hooked up a buffer device to the cells. Starscream uses it as a chance to call Megatron a coward for not turning on the cells and filling [[Energon cube]]s, then he activates it. The cells fill the cubes rather quickly, but just as quickly drain the cubes and explode. Megatron walks over to show Screamer the business end of his [[fusion cannon]]. As he does so, the Autobots arrive, but are spotted by [[Laserbeak (G1)|Laserbeak]], who tells [[Soundwave (G1)|Soundwave]]. Megatron orders Soundwave to call in the [[Insecticon (G1)|Insecticon]]s, with the promise of a special reward. A battle ensues, during which Mirage is injured by Skywarp, though he manages to tear off the Decepticon's [[insignia]]. The Insecticons then arrive, turning the tide of battle, but a stray shot by [[Shrapnel (G1)|Shrapnel]] hits the buffer, risking an explosion. The Autobots take the Decepticons' distraction as a chance to retreat.

At the base, Mirage is repaired, while Cliffjumper continues his accusations of treason. Mirage defends himself, and Optimus orders Cliffjumper on recon, with instructions to inform them if Megatron tries to move the cells. [[Ratchet (G1)|Ratchet]] tells Mirage to rest, but Mirage doesn't need rest. Leaving the base, he heads to the Insecticons' hideout, where they are discussing their "special reward"...two energon cubes. Going invisible and sneaking into the base, Mirage swipes the cubes while the Insecticons aren't looking, leaving the Decepticon insignia in their place, then drives to the valley. However, Cliffjumper spots him. Naturally assuming that Mirage is a Decepticon, Cliffjumper prepares to fire, only for the Insecticons to arrive. As Mirage slips away, Starscream discovers Cliffjumper, but the little guy is able to escape. Megatron comes to investigate, and they spot Mirage. They fire, but it appears that the Decepticons are firing on the Insecticons. The Bugs and the Cons throw down, but Mirage is caught in the crossfire. [[Bombshell]] implants a [[cerebro-shell]] into Mirage and has him fire on the Decepticons as well. Megatron sees Mirage, puts two and two together, and convinces the Insecticons to stop fighting the Decepticons. Megatron also plans to use Mirage for a little trap of his own.

Heading back to the base, Cliffjumper tells Prime what he saw. Optimus, Ratchet, and Cliffjumper head to the valley, where Mirage greets them and explains his original plan, saying that the Insecticons fled from the battle and the Decepticons chased after them. Despite Cliffjumper's warnings, the Autobots head to retrieve the cells, only for the Decepticons to ambush them, with Mirage joining in on the fire. Cliffjumper attacks Mirage, throwing him some distance, which apparently deactivates him. Bombshell commands Mirage to continue, but gives up. Ratchet then investigates and notices the cerebro-shell. Removing it allows Mirage to regain control, and he rejoins the fight—on the side of the Autobots. Prime makes a run for the cells, but Megatron concludes that if he can't have them, no one can. Firing randomly, he explodes the buffer device, sending the Decepticons everywhere possible as the Insecticons and Autobots retreat. Emerging from the wreckage, Megatron laments his hasty action.

As Prime informs the scientists of what happened, Ratchet works to repair Mirage, while Cliffjumper admits that he may need some repairs as well...for having doubted his friend. Awwww...

The Decepticons attack humans working in a gold mine (literally) and take them prisoner. Just as Starscream is about to blast a human calling for help on a radio, Megatron backhands him, saying that he wants the human to bring the Autobots.

At the Ark, Optimus Prime orders the Autobots to assemble at once, which they do with lots of hustle. The only exception is Gears who complains the whole way. Prime orders his troops to head out to the mine to engage their enemies.

When they arrive a battle ensues, but Megatron lets the miners get in the way. Unwilling to endanger humans, Prime orders the Autobots to hold their fire. Megatron uses this chance to get the drop on the Autobots, then takes Gears captive for purposes unknown and retreats.

In Africa, Megatron has Starscream zap Gears with the null-ray, then takes out a special circuit from Gears’ body. The Decepticon leader explains that this circuit is the final component he needs for his energy absorbing [[Solar Needle]], a solar collector which his Decepticons have constructed to harness energy from the heart of the sun. With the circuit in place in the needle, the device activates and causes world-wide earthquakes. Unbeknownst to Megatron, the Solar Needle is flawed, causing a dangerous instability within the core of the sun.

The effect on Gears is profound as well. The removal of this component from Gears corrupts his personality, turning him from a surly grump into a happy-go-lucky, ultra-polite guy who'll do absolutely anything for anyone. This allows Megatron to manipulate and control him. Mentally, Gears still knows the Decepticons are evil and doesn't want to help them, but he's been rendered so "nice" that he can't refuse any request.

The Autobots blast through the jungle and start firing at the Solar Needle, but it’s protected by a forcefield. Prime concocts a dangerous plan to circumvent the field by jumping through the hole at the top where the sun’s energy is coming through. Ratchet and Ironhide say it’s too dangerous, but Cliffjumper drives past them, makes the attempt and shatters the forcefield.

The ‘bots battle. Megatron gets the drop on Prime and orders the Autobots to surrender or he’ll shoot their leader. Prime orders them to fight on, but the Autobots capitulate. Prime asks for one last request, which Megatron allows. The chief Autobot turns and asks Gears to do him a favor now. Gears obliges and shoots a component of the needle. Inspired by his change of heart, the Autobots fight back against the ‘Cons, who retreat.

Prime orders Wheeljack and Ratchet to deactivate the device, but they argue over the correct solution. Out of time and with the sun about to explode, Optimus just grabs at a wire inside the device and pulls. The needle shuts down and the sun returns to normal.

Prime removes Gears’ circuit card from the needle and hands it back to him, but Trailbreaker interrupts, saying that the rest of the Autobots like the new Gears over the old. Gears isn’t too happy about that, so Optimus returns the card and the surly, cranky hypochondriac is back. The Autobots roll on back to HQ leaving Gears to complain to himself.

[[Raoul]] and his friends Poplock and Rocksteady are trying to make some spare cash, breakdancing on the sidewalks of New York City. Unfortunately, the management of the club [[Dancitron]] doesn't like competition, and sends a mob after them. Luckily, [[Tracks]] and [[Blaster (G1)|Blaster]] are in the city, and comes to the trio's rescue.

Tracks realizes that something is wrong with the humans and investigates. [[Starscream (G1)|Starscream]] and [[Soundwave (G1)|Soundwave]] are using the club to hypnotize humans so they can use them to construct a building.

Poplock and Rocksteady are hypnotized and lure Tracks into a trap at the club. Blaster and Raoul show up and free Tracks. During the fight Raoul discovers that water breaks the hypnosis. Tracks and the three humans chase Starscream in a dizzying aerial battle through the skyline of New York; Tracks eventually uses his smaller size to lure Starscream into damaging himself in the close quarters. Blaster squares off with Soundwave at the club in a sonic "battle of the boom boxes"; the two are nearly evenly matched, till Blaster uses the club's sound system to amplify his abilities and drive Soundwave off. Reuniting with Tracks, he uses the same trick to bring down the building the Decepticons were constructing.

Tracks offers grateful thanks to Raoul and his buddies for saving his life, saying that if there's anything he can do for them... and it turns out there is. The trio lost their radio in all the chaos, and until they earn enough street cash to get a new one, poor Blaster will make an ideal replacement.

== Synopsis ==
In the [[Machination]]'s [[Tampa, Florida]] headquarters, an employee reports to the damaged Transformer that Hunter is trapped in the well-guarded bodyshop. The Transformers orders his men not to engage and speaks to agent Dante, now in [[Headmaster]] attire. Dante prepares to become the head for... Scorponok, revealed as severely damaged. Hunter struggles with the Headmaster process as scientists mess with the real head of Sunstreaker. Scorponok smashes through the wall just as Hunter figures out how to transform, suddenly speaking with Sunstreaker's voice. A cloned body picks up the head and attaches it, but complains that the scientists' prodding is slowing him down. Scorponok attacks but Sunstreaker — despite some personal pronoun trouble — is able to transform, blast a hole in the wall and escape.

In the battle with the Reapers, the Decepticons fight valiantly, but are outnumbered. As Starscream states his loyalty, Megatron transforms to become his sidearm. The [[Battlecharger]]s don't fair so well though; both are killed while being observed by Galvatron. Galvatron lends a hand by turning the [[Deathbringer]] into a death-dealing zombie, who kills other Reapers by touch. With the odds tipping in their favor, Megatron gives the order for the Seekers to attack the Reapers' ship while he and the [[Triple Changer]]s attack the rest of the ground forces. When the battle is won, Megatron contemplates dismembering Blitzwing, but Starscream interrupts with the info that the Air Force is attacking.

Hardhead assists Hot Rod by blowing up a Headmaster clone and tells him about Optimus Prime's orders to evacuate. Hot Rod refuses to leave though, determined to find the root of the Headmaster mystery. Hardhead lets him go and (off-panel) takes [[Wheeljack (G1)|Wheeljack]] and [[Ironhide (G1)|Ironhide]] back to the ''[[Ark-32]]''. Aboard the ship, Optimus Prime speaks with Hound about rendezvousing at [[Garrus-9]], and that he doesn't take leaving Earth or Sunstreaker lightly. Hound also sent info on [[Leadfoot]]'s death to Nightbeat, who investigates the odd way in which he died. While investigating, he feels that he has seen the condition before and that someone has possibly interfered with his memory. He heads down to the hangar bay, and to the ship he once piloted to [[Gorlam Prime]]...

As the ''Ark-32'' leaves orbit, Doctor Weston argues with Agent Red, stating that the "Bulwark Mechs" ([[Ravage]] and [[Laserbeak (G1)|Laserbeak]]) are unaccounted for and that he doesn't have the time to activate a new one ([[Grimlock (G1)|Grimlock]]). Red says he must since they are at war and unlikely to get help.

Galvatron stares at the damaged form of [[Sixshot]] before returning to the [[Dead Universe]]. Though Nemesis Prime states he did good work, he confers with Jhiaxus, who suspects that Galvatron has hidden agendas and secrets.

The Decepticons attack humans working in a gold mine (literally) and take them prisoner. Just as Starscream is about to blast a human calling for help on a radio, Megatron backhands him, saying that he wants the human to bring the Autobots.

At the Ark, Optimus Prime orders the Autobots to assemble at once, which they do with lots of hustle. The only exception is Gears who complains the whole way. Prime orders his troops to head out to the mine to engage their enemies.

When they arrive a battle ensues, but Megatron lets the miners get in the way. Unwilling to endanger humans, Prime orders the Autobots to hold their fire. Megatron uses this chance to get the drop on the Autobots, then takes Gears captive for purposes unknown and retreats.

In Africa, Megatron has Starscream zap Gears with the null-ray, then takes out a special circuit from Gears’ body. With the circuit in place in the needle, the device activates and causes world-wide earthquakes. Unbeknownst to Megatron, the Solar Needle is flawed, causing a dangerous instability within the core of the sun.

The effect on Gears is profound as well. The removal of this component from Gears corrupts his personality, turning him from a surly grump into a happy-go-lucky, ultra-polite guy who'll do absolutely anything for anyone. Mentally, Gears still knows the Decepticons are evil and doesn't want to help them, but he's been rendered so "nice" that he can't refuse any request.

The Autobots blast through the jungle and start firing at the Solar Needle, but it’s protected by a forcefield. Prime concocts a dangerous plan to circumvent the field by jumping through the hole at the top where the sun’s energy is coming through. Ratchet and Ironhide say it’s too dangerous, but Cliffjumper drives past them, makes the attempt and shatters the forcefield.

Prime removes Gears’ circuit card from the needle and hands it back to him, but Trailbreaker interrupts, saying that the rest of the Autobots like the new Gears over the old. Gears isn’t too happy about that, so Optimus returns the card and the surly, cranky hypochondriac is back. The Autobots roll on back to HQ leaving Gears to complain to himself.

The Decepticons attack humans working in a gold mine (literally) and take them prisoner. Just as Starscream is about to blast a human calling for help on a radio, Megatron backhands him, saying that he wants the human to bring the Autobots.

At the Ark, Optimus Prime orders the Autobots to assemble at once, which they do with lots of hustle. The only exception is Gears who complains the whole way. Prime orders his troops to head out to the mine to engage their enemies.

When they arrive a battle ensues, but Megatron lets the miners get in the way. Unwilling to endanger humans, Prime orders the Autobots to hold their fire. Megatron uses this chance to get the drop on the Autobots, then takes Gears captive for purposes unknown and retreats.

In Africa, Megatron has Starscream zap Gears with the null-ray, then takes out a special circuit from Gears’ body. The Decepticon leader explains that this circuit is the final component he needs for his energy absorbing [[Solar Needle]], a solar collector which his Decepticons have constructed to harness energy from the heart of the sun. With the circuit in place in the needle, the device activates and causes world-wide earthquakes. Unbeknownst to Megatron, the Solar Needle is flawed, causing a dangerous instability within the core of the sun.

The effect on Gears is profound as well. The removal of this component from Gears corrupts his personality, turning him from a surly grump into a happy-go-lucky, ultra-polite guy who'll do absolutely anything for anyone. This allows Megatron to manipulate and control him. Mentally, Gears still knows the Decepticons are evil and doesn't want to help them, but he's been rendered so "nice" that he can't refuse any request.

The Autobots blast through the jungle and start firing at the Solar Needle, but it’s protected by a forcefield. Prime concocts a dangerous plan to circumvent the field by jumping through the hole at the top where the sun’s energy is coming through. Ratchet and Ironhide say it’s too dangerous, but Cliffjumper drives past them, makes the attempt and shatters the forcefield.

The ‘bots battle. Megatron gets the drop on Prime and orders the Autobots to surrender or he’ll shoot their leader. Prime orders them to fight on, but the Autobots capitulate. Prime asks for one last request, which Megatron allows. The chief Autobot turns and asks Gears to do him a favor now. Gears obliges and shoots a component of the needle. Inspired by his change of heart, the Autobots fight back against the ‘Cons, who retreat.

Prime orders Wheeljack and Ratchet to deactivate the device, but they argue over the correct solution. Out of time and with the sun about to explode, Optimus just grabs at a wire inside the device and pulls. The needle shuts down and the sun returns to normal.

Prime removes Gears’ circuit card from the needle and hands it back to him, but Trailbreaker interrupts, saying that the rest of the Autobots like the new Gears over the old. Gears isn’t too happy about that, so Optimus returns the card and the surly, cranky hypochondriac is back. The Autobots roll on back to HQ leaving Gears to complain to himself.

==Synopsis==
After a failed attempt by Ramjet to charge past the [[Ark (G1)|''Ark'']]'s defenses, [[Security Team Dion]] leader, Ultra Magnus tries to reason surrender with the Autobots inside. Grimlock favors fighting back, but Prime is indecisive.

After Shockwave punishes Starscream for the ejection of [[Megatron (G1)|Megatron]] during the voyage through space, the spacecraft alights upon Cybertron and the Decepticon deplane. Thundercracker and Skywarp are amazed to find that Shockwave's claims of a unified [[Cybertron (planet)|Cybertron]] were valid, and in the heart of the capital city of [[Iacon]], Shockwave's control tower stands in his image.

On Earth, Prime comes to make a decision. Before Blitzwing can level a human city, Prime emerges from the ''Ark'' with a number of Autobots and throws down his faction logo as a sign of surrender, while a team of seven other Autobots secretly head to Portland, [[Oregon]].

Shockwave's security officers, Twintwist and Topspin discuss their dissatisfaction with Cybertron being ruled by a Decepticon, when they're interrupted by a communication from Perceptor, announcing that he's found aberrations in the power distribution system, and incidental scientific evidence that Cybertron has deviated from its traditional projected astral trajectory. But Shockwave is preoccupied explaining to the Decepticons how he's developed '''[[energy transfer modules]]''' that allow Transformers to siphon energy from Cybertron itself as a fuel source instead of the consumption of [[Energon]].

Back on Earth, Ultra Magnus loads the captive Autobots onto [[Sky Lynx (G1)|his shuttle]] when Prime starts to act violent, accusing Ultra Magnus of being a traitor to the Autobots. Magnus commands Prime to stand down. Inside of the shuttle, Prime's party is reunited with the captured recon team who was left in Alaska. Characteristically, Cliffjumper retains some hostility for Mirage for causing the recon team's apprehension.

In the Arctic, Grimlock breaks into Megatron's secret underground cavern, where the [[Dinobot (G1)|Dinobots]] are being held captive in stasis along with a Decepticon ship.

Thundercracker and Skywarp have some nice hot baths, while Shockwave offers Soundwave a position as his Lieutenant. As soon as Shockwave leaves, Starscream makes a move, disabling Ravage and grabbing Soundwave from behind.

Spyglass, Spectro, and Viewfinder, from their monitoring room, relay news of the arrival of Security Team Dion with their Autobot captives to Shockwave. Aboard the shuttle, Ultra Magnus is extremely angry that Shockwave has made the decision to deactivate the captive Autobots upon their return to Cybertron.

==Synopsis==

Far outside of Detroit, a lone worker monitoring [[Constructicons (G1)|some oddly coloured]] mining machines hears a strange noise. Alerted, he looks around, but returns to his drink... only to be attacked by ''something''. The construction machines stop their work, and they too get attacked.

Outside Detroit, Prowl, in his [[alternate mode]], looks on at the snow covered city, before a plow comes along and rather rudely covers him in snow. [[Transformation|Transforming]], he rises from the snow with a sad look on his face

When Prowl returns to the base, he goes on a rant about nature's beauty and how humanity destroys it at every turn. Bumblebee and Sari are playing a video game, ignoring his vent. Prowl looks down on Bumblebee and asks if he was listening, where Bumblebee retorts by noting that Prowl is "electrical components" too, nudging his Autobot insignia to activate a hologram of Prowl. Optimus Prime interrupts the friendly banter by noting that there is a strange energy signature coming from the forest, and so sends Prowl and Bumblebee to investigate. Bumblebee is horrified at the idea at venturing into the tech-less wilderness, while Sari uses the opportunity to go camping with the two Autobots.

The three of them head off into the woods and Bumblebee laments unpaved roads, while Sari is excited, saying that they'll roast marshmellows, tell ghost stories, and the like. When they prepare to proceed on foot, it's learned that Bumblebee brought a few entertainment devices... stored in a place that makes him a little ashamed. After finding a suitable camping site, Prowl sits quietly to commune with nature while Bumblebee searches for an outlet to power his flatscreen TV. As campers, Sari and Bumblebee are miserable failures. They can't pitch a tent or get a fire going, and Sari is forced to admit that she's never been camping before, so Prowl does both within seconds. When Bumblebee commandeers Prowl's holographic imager to watch a movie, the ninja bot smashes Bumblebee's portable media player, much to the yellow bot's horror. Prowl 1, Bumblebee 0.

During the night, the trio is awoken by a crunching noise. Bumblebee cries monster. Prowl says it's a bear, which are [[Wikipedia:Stephen Colbert (character)|hardly monsters]]. Lo and behold, a monstrous creature covered in purple tentacles and pink eyes ''does'' stomp out into the open and attack them. Bumblebee 1, Prowl 1.

After a brief battle, they run ahead and determine the creature is made up of [[space barnacles]], scourge of space-going vessels everywhere. Prowl says these barnacles appear to have been mutated by [[AllSpark (Animated)|something]] and made more powerful. They decide to go back and destroy the barnacles, rather than risk the creature reaching Detroit and infecting other machines. Glowing in the direction of the Cybertronian energy, Sari's key leads them to the mine shaft. When they're not looking, the creature drops a snowbank on them from above, sealing Bee and Sari inside.

Prowl fools the creature into smashing the entrance open and Bumblebee uses his stingers to fry the barnacles. However, Prowl's prolonged contact with the creature has infected him and taken over, turning him into a barnacle zombie. Bee and Sari make a run for it, but they know they can't go back to the city because the barnacles may spread. They backtrack, hoping to lure Prowl to the mine and seal him inside, but end up sealing themselves inside too.

Now trapped, Bee and Sari seal themselves in a furnace room and Sari hatches a plan to heat up water from a fire hose to scorch the barnacles off Prowl. But Prowl's touch has infected Bumblebee as well. Sari tries to use the key on the furnace machinery but it doesn't work (for once). Sari manages to light the furnace by scratching a spark (not [[spark|that kind of spark]]) from the Key. The furnace heats the water and Sari sprays her two friends, boiling the barnacles off. The two Autobots are restored and the three return to the plant to recount their harrowing tale to Prime.

Sumdac comments that he's finally found what he's been looking for for several years, and that Megatron will be pleased with his discovery. What, oh what, could it be?

==Synopsis==

Far outside of Detroit, a lone worker monitoring [[Constructicons (G1)|some oddly coloured]] mining machines hears a strange noise. Alerted, he looks around, but returns to his drink... only to be attacked by ''something''. The construction machines stop their work, and they too get attacked.

Outside Detroit, Prowl, in his [[alternate mode]], looks on at the snow covered city, before a plow comes along and rather rudely covers him in snow. [[Transformation|Transforming]], he rises from the snow with a sad look on his face

When Prowl returns to the base, he goes on a rant about nature's beauty and how humanity destroys it at every turn. Bumblebee and Sari are playing a video game, ignoring his vent. Prowl looks down on Bumblebee and asks if he was listening, where Bumblebee retorts by noting that Prowl is "electrical components" too, nudging his Autobot insignia to activate a hologram of Prowl. Optimus Prime interrupts the friendly banter by noting that there is a strange energy signature coming from the forest, and so sends Prowl and Bumblebee to investigate. Bumblebee is horrified at the idea at venturing into the tech-less wilderness, while Sari uses the opportunity to go camping with the two Autobots.

The three of them head off into the woods and Bumblebee laments unpaved roads, while Sari is excited, saying that they'll roast marshmellows, tell ghost stories, and the like. When they prepare to proceed on foot, it's learned that Bumblebee brought a few entertainment devices... stored in a place that makes him a little ashamed. After finding a suitable camping site, Prowl sits quietly to commune with nature while Bumblebee searches for an outlet to power his flatscreen TV. As campers, Sari and Bumblebee are miserable failures. They can't pitch a tent or get a fire going, and Sari is forced to admit that she's never been camping before, so Prowl does both within seconds. When Bumblebee commandeers Prowl's holographic imager to watch a movie, the ninja bot smashes Bumblebee's portable media player, much to the yellow bot's horror. Prowl 1, Bumblebee 0.

During the night, the trio is awoken by a crunching noise. Bumblebee cries monster. Prowl says it's a bear, which are [[Wikipedia:Stephen Colbert (character)|hardly monsters]]. Lo and behold, a monstrous creature covered in purple tentacles and pink eyes ''does'' stomp out into the open and attack them. Bumblebee 1, Prowl 1.

After a brief battle, they run ahead and determine the creature is made up of [[space barnacles]], scourge of space-going vessels everywhere. Prowl says these barnacles appear to have been mutated by [[AllSpark (Animated)|something]] and made more powerful. They decide to go back and destroy the barnacles, rather than risk the creature reaching Detroit and infecting other machines. Glowing in the direction of the Cybertronian energy, Sari's key leads them to the mine shaft. When they're not looking, the creature drops a snowbank on them from above, sealing Bee and Sari inside.

Prowl fools the creature into smashing the entrance open and Bumblebee uses his stingers to fry the barnacles. However, Prowl's prolonged contact with the creature has infected him and taken over, turning him into a barnacle zombie. Bee and Sari make a run for it, but they know they can't go back to the city because the barnacles may spread. They backtrack, hoping to lure Prowl to the mine and seal him inside, but end up sealing themselves inside too.

Now trapped, Bee and Sari seal themselves in a furnace room and Sari hatches a plan to heat up water from a fire hose to scorch the barnacles off Prowl. But Prowl's touch has infected Bumblebee as well. Sari tries to use the key on the furnace machinery but it doesn't work (for once). Sari manages to light the furnace by scratching a spark (not [[spark|that kind of spark]]) from the Key. The furnace heats the water and Sari sprays her two friends, boiling the barnacles off. The two Autobots are restored and the three return to the plant to recount their harrowing tale to Prime.

==Synopsis==

On a secluded [[Sumdac Systems]] testing ground, [[Isaac Sumdac]] is interviewing an eager new employee: Henry Masterson, a web-jargon-spewing young hotshot engineer/inventor who has risen quickly through the company ranks on the recommendation of his superiors. Eager to impress his new boss and long-time idol, Masterson unveils his magnum opus: the Headmaster unit, a head-shaped piloted command unit/battle station that replaces the heads of other automatons in order to take control of their bodies. Sumdac is horrified, however, when he realises the militaristic intentions of the immature Masterson and his creation. When the warbot Masterson is using as a test subject buckles under the weight of the Headmaster unit and launches a missile towards Detroit, the Professor is understandably furious and immediately fires the belligerent geek.

Meanwhile, in the city centre, [[Bulkhead (Animated)|Bulkhead]] is in the middle of a different kind of interview: a televised streetside one-to-one with the sensationalist [[News Bot]]. Bulkhead hopes it will clear up misunderstandings about his large and intimidating appearance, but it's going rather less well than he might have hoped. Having accidentally ripped off News Bot's arm midway through his interview, Bulkhead is fortunately able to excuse himself from his press commitments when [[Optimus Prime (Animated)|Prime]] radios in to tell him to intercept the missile heading for downtown. Speeding into action, he reaches the missile ahead of the other Autobots and destroys it before it can impact. His success is offset, however, by the destruction he himself causes in the process, including the totaling of the unfortunate News Bot, to the distress of [[Daniel (Animated)|innocent onlookers]].

Back at Autobot headquarters, [[Sari Sumdac|Sari]] and [[Bumblebee (Animated)|Bumblebee]] attempt to console a downcast Bulkhead, with varying degrees of success and sincerity. Sensing that the gentle giant might benefit from a creative outlet for his sensitive, emotional side, Sari decides to introduce Bulkhead to the concept of art. After some false starts and a violation of [[Detroit]]'s graffiti laws, and despite the slight bemusement of his Autobot colleagues, Bulkhead gradually gains a tentative grasp of basic painting and sculpture skills. He remains acutely self-conscious of his own heavy-handedness, however, and continues to express embarrassment both about himself and his artwork. As such, Sari's sudden declaration that she has arranged an exhibition of Bulkhead's creations in a real art gallery goes down poorly; the sensitive ''artiste'' has a panic attack and bolts.

Masterson, meanwhile, has returned to his lab to brood over his rejection, using Headmaster units to convert warbots into ersatz [[:Image:Rock_'em_an'_sock_'em,_Rhinox.jpg|Rock 'Em, Sock 'Em Robots]] to ease his frustration. Deciding that he will instead create his own company to manufacture Headmasters, he formulates a plan to acquire the two things that will make his "wicked-sick" dream a reality: large amounts of cash and a body big enough to support a Headmaster. As he does so, he focuses in on an image of Bulkhead on the TV and hits upon his solution.

Indeed, moments later, Bulkhead is trudging alone down the darkened streets of Detroit, lamenting over his artistic difficulties, when he is suddenly incapacitated with a shock to the chestplate. He retains consciousness just long enough to see the Headmaster unit fire its metal-cutting laser and to hear a soon-to-be familiar proclamation of "TOTAL OWNAGE!!" When he awakens, he discovers, to his considerable distress, that he is nothing more than a disembodied head, with his body nowhere to be found.

Having brought Bulkhead's head safely back to headquarters, Prime, [[Ratchet (Animated)|Ratchet]] and [[Prowl (Animated)|Prowl]] depart to assist the police investigation, leaving the bodiless Bulkhead, much to his annoyance, in the care of the not-wholly-sympathetic Bumblebee. After taking the opportunity to belittle Bulkhead for his newly diminished stature and use him as a bowling ball, Bumblebee agrees to help Bulkhead create more art pieces for his gallery show. However, 'Bee manages to set the resulting sculpture on fire, then tries to incorporate Bulkhead's head into the art itself, which convinces Bulkhead that acquiring a body of his own should be his top priority.

Meanwhile, the police investigation, at Professor Sumdac's request, follows the trail of the body to Masterson's lab, where they find residual traces of Bulkhead's Cybertronian energy, but no signs of the body's current whereabouts. All of these factors become moot, however, when Bulkhead, who has in the meantime commandeered the luckless [[Tutor Bot]]'s body to complete his painting project, begins to sense and react remotely to his stolen body's actions. Checking the news broadcast, Bumblebee and Bulkhead see that the body, now under full Headmaster control, has stormed the Detroit Solar Fusion Power Plant. Furthermore, Masterson, now referring to himself as "[[Headmaster (Animated)|The Headmaster]]", appears on air, demanding a ransom of 700 billion dollars to be delivered personally by Professor Sumdac, or else he will overload the plant, thus destroying the entire state of Michigan.

Faced with this diabolical threat, Prime concocts a plan to outwit the Headmaster. Sumdac, Sari and [[Captain Fanzone]] are sent into the plant in a convoy of vehicles, actually Prowl, Ratchet, Bumblebee and Prime, with Optimus himself carrying the "ransom" in a [[Optimus Prime (G1)|familiar-looking trailer]]. Once inside, they are confronted by the Bulkhead-mounted Headmaster, who falls for the ruse thoroughly enough to reveal his true intention: he's going to renege on the deal and destroy the city—and Sumdac Systems—even with the ransom paid, thereby eliminating his competition and creating a crisis that will fuel demand for his Headmaster units, whose construction the ransom money will finance. He initiates the plant's overload sequence, and, at Sumdac's suggestion, opens the trailer to count his money, only to find instead the enraged head of Bulkhead, who leaps out, demanding his body back. This is the Autobots' cue to transform and attack the Headmaster, who retaliates using the unit's sizable onboard arsenal, not to mention the strength of its host body. After some violent exchanges, the Autobots are able to overpower the Headmaster, but not without their conflict inadvertently destroying the control terminal for the fusion core.

With overload imminent, Masterson decides to abandon the stolen body, activating the Headmaster unit's thrusters to make an aerial escape, but Bulkhead is able to bring him down to earth by using Prime's grapplers to turn his own head into a makeshift wrecking-ball projectile. With Headmaster apparently subdued, Bumblebee and Sari uses the [[Sari Sumdac's key|Key]] finally to reunite Bulkhead's head with his body. Unfortunately, they attach it backwards. Taking advantage of the distraction, Masterson transforms his Headmaster unit into a small robot, in which he flees the scene. Pursuit of the Headmaster is impossible, however, due to the imminent overload of the fusion core. Sumdac realises that the only remaining method of preventing meltdown is to enter the core and physically reset the solar dampeners, an unsurvivable task for human or Autobot. Prime volunteers himself, but Bulkhead, drawing on his newly developed creative instincts, instead rallies the Autobots to assemble hastily a crude robot, which Sari is able to activate with her key. Entering the core, the robot is able to withstand the blistering heat just long enough to reset the dampening rods and stabilise the core with just seconds to spare.

Some time later, the melted remnants of the makeshift robot are relocated to the museum, where they become the centrepiece of Bulkhead's well-attended art exhibition. Looking on Bulkhead's print of the Autobots together, Optimus comments that he finally understands that art is about feeling, due to the emotion he feels looking at it: pride.

==Synopsis==
[[Autobot]] security escorts Starscream away from the other detained [[Decepticon]]s held in the [[Kaon]] holding cells. They take Starscream to stand before the Council of the district, to whom Starscream delivers a message: Everything that has happened is the council's fault. As punishment for their sins, Starscream and Soundwave destroy the council, etching their [[insignia|symbol]] into the meeting room's view screen.

The next stage in Megatron's master plan carried out by Starscream is to free all the inmates. Starscream releases them all, and the criminals with prior association with Megatron are recruited into his new army. Soundwave provides armaments, and Starscream introduces Megatron to a new arm-mounted [[fusion cannon]]. Blasting a hole in the wall with his new weapon, Megatron orders the group to attack with an offensive that is as simple as it is destructive: Everything burns.

In an area inhabited by [[Cybertron (planet)|Cybertron]]'s high class, snooty recreation comes to an end when Skywarp and Thundercracker fire upon an airborne vessel, causing it to crash below, destroying an incredible amount on the way down.

Soundwave meets with his boss, Senator Ratbat. The senator admits that not only did he aid Megatron's cause by supplying arms, he was also the one who arranged for Megatron to be removed from the mining operation where he was originally working. Now that Megatron's forces have destabilized the area, the senator is embezzling what he can before moving on to new pastures. Soundwave, however, shoots Ratbat, takes Ratbat's ill-gotten gains, and seals his [[spark]] inside of a frame {{m-}} his new "cassette" body. Evidently, Soundwave prefers Megatron as his new boss.

Sentinel Prime and the other Autobots fight to retake Kaon from the rioting rebellion. However, the rebels are causing massive damage, have jammed communications with [[Iacon]], and just won't give an inch of ground. Running out of options, Sentinel Prime decides to bring his incredible assortment of firepower (using his Apex System) head to head against Megatron. A colossal explosion blasts Megatron out of sight.

Sentinel Prime radios to the other Autobots that he's created a route that can be used to fight against the enemy. But when his armor's helmet is shattered by Hound's body, he discovers that Megatron still functions. Their struggle takes them over a precipice as they battle while discussing Megatron's goal: Megatron wants to transform the world. With a final strike, Megatron (possibly) kills the [[Prime (rank)|Prime]].

The other Autobots arrive, following Sentinel Prime. They find their leader's body. Prowl, assuming command, orders a retreat.

Megatron sits on his throne and discusses the victory with Soundwave. Now that Kaon has been taken, the next step is clear {{m-}} the rest of Cybertron shall be conquered. But they will not do is as Cybertronians. From this day forward, they are the [[Decepticon]]s.

The episode starts with Warpath and Hoist battling it out with Starscream, Rumble, Ravage, and Ramjet. But the Decepticons retreat out of exhaustion, sensing energy in a nearby cave. The cave transports them to 543 A.D., where they are greeted by Sir Wigend du Blackthorne and his knights, who believe the Transformers are knights of their enemy realm. Nearby, Nimue, princess of that enemy kingdom, is spying their conversation and runs to warn her father, Sir Aetheling the Red, but she bumps into Spike (literally). The Decepticons agree to help Blackthorne's knights win their conflict with Aetheling, but Starscream obviously just wants to rule and have a land of his own. Spike agrees to enter the tournament between the two kingdoms (which has been rigged by the Decepticons, of course), but quickly fails.

Ramjet and Rumble then enter the tournament together (Rumble riding Ramjet in vehicle form), but are defeated by Warpath and Sir Aetheling. An enraged Starscream kidnaps Nimue and holds her hostage unless Sir Aetheling agrees to give up his realm. The Autobots give chase but cannot keep up due to lack of energy and collapse out of exhaustion. Starscream then holds Nimue prisoner in Blackthorne's castle, which he has commandeered, and has its residents construct and power a primitive electrical generator to keep him energized. Starscream then sends Rumble to get potassium nitrate (in other word, LOTS of bird crap) to make gunpowder. Spike attempts to save Nimue from Blackthorne's keep, only to find she and Sir Blackthorne are now a happy couple. Feeling rejected, Spike still agrees to help fight the war against the Decepticons. Meanwhile, the Autobots and Sir Aetheling's knights charge towards the castle to battle it out with the Decepticons, but the Autobots can't put up much of a fight due to their dangerously low energy levels.

A wizard named Beorht then appears to aid the Autobots and summons lightning that fills Warpath and Hoist with enough energy to fight. They continue the battle with Starscream and are victorious. Beorht then leads them all back to the cave in which they arrived, only to find it guarded by a [[dragon]]. Starscream refuses to go any closer, but Beorht pulls out a pouch of "dragon's bane", noting that a little bit of it works every time. He throws the concoction at the dragon, and it explodes, frightening away the beast. Spike and the Transformers are now all able to return to the present. When they arrive back in their home era, they are greeted by multiple cannon blasts by Megatron. Starscream tackles his leader in a burst of enthusiasm at being back safely. Megatron, on the other hand, isn't nearly as happy to see Starscream, who has just ruined his shot...

*Even making allowances for the story being set in the enlightened and (presumably) advanced kingdom of Camelot, plate armour of the kind worn by the various knights in this episode was not introduced into medieval Europe until around the year 1400—almost a thousand years from the stated date of 543 ''anno domini''. Even so, one should be fair to the writers and cartoonists, given that major motion pictures like ''Excalibur'' also made this sort of error (or used it for dramatic effect because audiences would easily recognise a stereotypical "knight" as opposed to a historically accurate version). Additionally, in one respect, the defect can be excused: Hoist's creation of a suit of armour for Spike with 900 years' worth of technological innovations can be regarded as a pretty smart tactical move.

The episode starts with Warpath and Hoist battling it out with Starscream, Rumble, Ravage, and Ramjet. But the Decepticons retreat out of exhaustion, sensing energy in a nearby cave. The cave transports them to 543 A.D., where they are greeted by Sir Wigend du Blackthorne and his knights, who believe the Transformers are knights of their enemy realm. Nearby, Nimue, princess of that enemy kingdom, is spying their conversation and runs to warn her father, Sir Aetheling the Red, but she bumps into Spike (literally). The Decepticons agree to help Blackthorne's knights win their conflict with Aetheling, but Starscream obviously just wants to rule and have a land of his own. Spike agrees to enter the tournament between the two kingdoms (which has been rigged by the Decepticons, of course), but quickly fails.

Ramjet and Rumble then enter the tournament together (Rumble riding Ramjet in vehicle form), but are defeated by Warpath and Sir Aetheling. An enraged Starscream kidnaps Nimue and holds her hostage unless Sir Aetheling agrees to give up his realm. The Autobots give chase but cannot keep up due to lack of energy and collapse out of exhaustion. Starscream then holds Nimue prisoner in Blackthorne's castle, which he has commandeered, and has its residents construct and power a primitive electrical generator to keep him energized. Starscream then sends Rumble to get potassium nitrate (in other word, LOTS of bird crap) to make gunpowder. Spike attempts to save Nimue from Blackthorne's keep, only to find she and Sir Blackthorne are now a happy couple. Feeling rejected, Spike still agrees to help fight the war against the Decepticons. Meanwhile, the Autobots and Sir Aetheling's knights charge towards the castle to battle it out with the Decepticons, but the Autobots can't put up much of a fight due to their dangerously low energy levels.

A wizard named Beorht then appears to aid the Autobots and summons lightning that fills Warpath and Hoist with enough energy to fight. They continue the battle with Starscream and are victorious. Beorht then leads them all back to the cave in which they arrived, only to find it guarded by a [[dragon]]. Starscream refuses to go any closer, but Beorht pulls out a pouch of "dragon's bane", noting that a little bit of it works every time. He throws the concoction at the dragon, and it explodes, frightening away the beast. Spike and the Transformers are now all able to return to the present. When they arrive back in their home era, they are greeted by multiple cannon blasts by Megatron. Starscream tackles his leader in a burst of enthusiasm at being back safely. Megatron, on the other hand, isn't nearly as happy to see Starscream, who has just ruined his shot...

==Detailed synopsis==
[[Spike Witwicky|Spike]] and [[Carly]] are at a rock concert, having taken [[Blaster]] along for the music. Enjoying the concert, Spike wishes that the rest of the [[Autobot]]s could hear the music, so Blaster begins transmitting to all of them. Off in space, [[Cosmos]] is drifting lonely, but gets a real kick out of the music. At the [[Ark (G1)|Autobot base]], [[Optimus Prime (G1)|Optimus Prime]] and [[Sparkplug Witwicky|Sparkplug]] are observing [[Omega Supreme (G1)|Omega Supreme]]'s target practice, when the music from the concert begins playing. Sparkplug and most of the Autobots are nearly overcome in pain, while [[Jazz (G1)|Jazz]] begins showing his dancing skills.

At the Helix Observatory, a human scientist is showing off his new creation, the [[voltronic galaxer]], to his fellow scientists. The device is intended to translate Earth's recordings into other languages and broadcast them into space. The scientist is quite surprised when he gets a response...which turns to horror when he sees it's the Decepticons. [[Starscream (G1)|Starscream]], as he is oft wont to do, begins firing randomly, but [[Megatron (G1)|Megatron]] orders him to stop, saying that they need the voltronic galaxer. At the Autobot base, Optimus Prime is so annoyed by the music that he outright tells Blaster to "shut up," but to no avail. Only a distress call from the scientist finally gets Blaster to stop. As the Autobots head for the observatory, they find that the Decepticons have already fled with their prize.

Splitting up into groups, the Autobots begin a search for where the Decepticons took the voltronic galaxer. [[Powerglide]], Spike and Carly have already searched half the hemisphere, while Cosmos and Blaster are searching outer space. They locate the Decepticons on the [[Moon (moon)|Moon]], where Megatron is intending to take control of Earth's airwaves. Blaster and Cosmos are caught, however, before they can contact the Autobots. Blaster is forced into use as a transcrambler, while Cosmos powers the device. Megatron orders the [[Seeker]]s to return to Earth as the blackout commences.

On Earth, the communications blackout is scrambling even the Autobots' radio channels. [[Red Alert (G1)|Red Alert]] and [[Inferno (G1)|Inferno]] barely manage to stop a train from running over a downed tree, while [[Prowl (G1)|Prowl]], [[Ratchet (G1)|Ratchet]], [[Hoist (G1)|Hoist]], and [[Trailbreaker]] head to free motorists trapped on a frozen highway, where [[Dirge (G1)|Dirge]] and [[Ramjet (G1)|Ramjet]] attack. At an airport, Powerglide is attempting to land, when Starscream and [[Thundercracker (G1)|Thundercracker]] attack, damaging both Powerglide and Optimus Prime. Spike manages to strap a jet pack onto Powerglide, giving him some extra boost. As Megatron begins broadcasting his demands to Earth, Blaster begins playing the music from the concert. Carly manages to track it back to the Moon, and they head for the Autobot base. However, only Omega Supreme is there, and he can't repair Prime. Carly does some quick repairs while the two teens and Powerglide load Prime onto Omega, who takes them to space.

Once Omega lands on the Moon, Megatron and Astrotrain attack him. Omega manages to get his hand on Megatron, but Astrotrain rams Omega in train mode, causing him to release Megatron. Astrotrain then flees, while Omega transforms into rocket mode and follows. Seeing Optimus Prime defenseless, Megatron attacks, only for the [[Prime (rank)|Autobot leader]] to reactivate and attack him. With no one to guard them, Blaster and Cosmos cause the voltronic galaxer to receive feedback and explode. Seeing his latest [[EI/AD]] ruined, Megatron retreats. After freeing them, Blaster mentions that he could rebuild the Decepticon moon base into a new Autobot base. Cosmos likes the idea, as it would give him some company. Optimus agrees, but orders him to keep an eye on his volume.

Soon, however, Blaster is back to transmitting loud rock music over the air waves again. Some stereos never learn.
