'''Wheelie''' is a sneaky little salvage and scrap bot, always underfoot when you least expect it. As a reconnaissance specialist, he's equipped to the teeth with mid-range surveillance equipment. But his real asset is stealth, tooling along unseen and unsuspected while he accomplishes his mission. Unfortunately for his mission, he often bites off more than he can chew—and ends up being the one chewed on!

Wheelie isn't really a ''bad'' sort: a loving home and a little strict discipline could whip him into shape, although he does seem to have a bit of a "mouth" on him.

Disguised as a remote-controlled monster truck toy, Wheelie was ordered by [[Soundwave (ROTF)|Soundwave]] to steal the [[AllSpark (Movie)|All Spark]] fragment that belonged to [[Mikaela Banes]]. Wheelie attempted to unlock the safe in her garage containing the fragment, but the noise he made in trying to avoid the various dangerous objects on the floor alerted her to his presence, so she picked him up with tongs and burnt out his left eye with a blowtorch. Mikaela then demanded to know what he was doing there, and Wheelie explained that he needed to bring the All Spark shard to the Decepticons, or he'd be terminated, begging mercy of Mikaela, who he dubbed "Warrior Goddess". Despite his protests, Mikaela locked him inside a box, which she took to [[Princeton University]] when [[Sam Witwicky]] told her he had been having visions and breakdowns induced by the fragment. Although [[Starscream (Movie)|Starscream]] later bisected Mikaela's car, Wheelie's box was undamaged and she retrieved and stored it in [[Bumblebee (Movie)|Bumblebee]]'s boot.

Wheelie was let out of the box at [[Seymour Simmons]]'s deli in [[New York City]]. Mikaela held him with a chain, but promised she would not hurt him if he promised to explain the [[Cyberglyphics]] Sam had been hallucinating about. Wheelie identified the symbols as the Language of the [[Dynasty of Primes|Primes]], and said that he couldn't read it. When he noticed the pictures of suspected Transformers, he identified them as the [[Seeker (ROTF)|Seekers]], saying they could read the language and he could tell them where to find them. Wheelie did, and he accompanied Mikaela, Sam, Simmons, [[Leo Spitz]], Bumblebee, [[Skids (ROTF)|Skids]] and [[Mudflap (ROTF)|Mudflap]] to find [[Jetfire (ROTF)|Jetfire]] at the Smithsonian. Wheelie told the humans that Jetfire was a living legend, like "chairman of the board" type, and instructed Sam to point the shard at the Blackbird.

The surge of energon sent through Jetfire awoke the ancient Seeker, who was irritable and cantankerous, and Wheelie noted that Jetfire had not aged very well. As the larger Decepticon made his way outside, he inquired on the state of the civil war, and informed the group that he had defected years earlier. Wheelie was shocked by Jetfire's discussion of how he defected from the Decepticons to the Autobots, a thought which had never occurred to him, and decided he too would defect to Warrior Goddess, humping Mikaela's leg in joy. Sam objected, but Mikaela noted Wheelie was faithful, [[Alice|unlike]] her boyfriend. That did not stop Sam from punting Wheelie.

Wheelie was taken by Jetfire's [[space bridge]] to [[Jordan]], and from there he travelled with the humans and Autobots to the [[Pyramid]]s of [[Egypt]]. He was present in when Bumblebee was stopped by the Egyptian checkpoint officers. His chest panel can be switched between Autobot and Decepticon symbols, which is probably the Mech Alive feature of this toy. While transforming him from 'bot to truck, the two halves of the hood and fenders that are suppose to connect together a difficult to push together. Mikaela learned how to fix cars from [[Cal|her father]], a long-time car thief who has presumably been single for some time. When he couldn't find a babysitter, he'd bring young Mikaela along, and she learned his trade. She hid her automotive knowledge from her boyfriends, for fear that they will be insecure around a girl who knows more about cars than they do.

She went to school with Sam Witwicky since first grade, but had failed to notice him at all during that entire time. After a spat with her boyfriend [[Trent DeMarco|Trent]], she dumped him, and Sam gave her a ride home in his new car. When the car suffered engine trouble, she took a look at the engine and was very impressed with the layout. Sam was more impressed with her. After Sam drove her home, Mikaela asked him if he thought she was "shallow", to which Sam awkwardly replied that he thought that there was "more than meets the eye...with...you".

The next day, Mikaela was having lunch with her friends when Sam passed by on his mother's bike, saying that his car was following him. Concerned, she followed him on her moped, but just as she caught up, Sam knocked her off. Angry, she demanded to know what his problem was...at which point [[Barricade (Movie)|a monster cop car]] came charging out from under the bridge where Sam had just been. Sam's Camaro knocked the monster down and then urged them to get in. After a hectic chase, the two teens arrived at a deserted chemical plant, where the Camaro [[Transformation|transformed]] into a [[Transformer|giant robot]]. However, the monster unleashed [[Frenzy (Movie)|a spastic abomination]] that went after Sam and pantsed him. Heading to an abandoned tool shed, Mikaela found a power saw and attacked the smaller robot, decapitating it. Mikaela then watched with trepidation as Sam tried to communicate with his now-bipedal car, learning that it could only speak through the radio and that it was an alien who had summoned others of its kind to [[Earth]]. Mikaela remained unsure about re-entering the vehicle, but then Sam asked her a simple question: "Fifty years from now, when you're looking back at your life, don't you wanna say you had the guts to get into the car?" Mikaela reluctantly agreed...unaware that the decapitated robot had slipped into her purse.

She still refused to sit in the driver's seat, as the car was driving, so Sam argued that since he had the only other seatbelt, she should sit in his lap. Safety first, after all. Mikaela agreed, then admitted that it was a smooth move on Sam's part. She then asked why the car turned back into a piece-of-crap Camaro if it was such a super-advanced robot. Insulted, the car forced the two teens out, only to return moments later as a sleek and shiny 2009 model. The car then took them to a local observatory, where they could see four meteors entering Earth's atmosphere. Mikaela instinctively reached for Sam's hand as this spectacle took place. The Camaro then brought them to an abandoned alley, where four more cars joined them, then transformed into robots. After inquiring Sam's identity, the lead robot introduced himself as [[Optimus Prime (Movie)|Optimus Prime]], the [[Prime (rank)|leader]] of the [[Autobot]]s, a race of sentient robots from [[Cybertron (planet)|Cybertron]]. Prime introduced [[Jazz (Movie)|Jazz]], his first lieutenant; [[Ironhide (Movie)|Ironhide]], his weapons expert; [[Ratchet (Movie)|Ratchet]], their medical officer (who revealed that Sam's pheromone levels indicated that he wanted to mate with Mikaela, something that embarrassed both teens); and identified the Camaro as Bumblebee, Sam's guardian. When Mikaela asked their intentions, Optimus explained their mission to find the [[AllSpark (Movie)|All Spark]], the betrayal of [[Megatron (Movie)|Megatron]] and the [[Decepticon]]s, and how [[Archibald Witwicky]]'s [[glasses]] played a role in finding their target.

Heading to Sam's house, Mikaela was told to stay and watch the Autobots, though they eventually headed to Sam's backyard and proceeded to cause some havoc. Losing patience with Sam's inability to locate the glasses within a couple of minutes, Optimus gave Mikaela a boost up through Sam's window so she could help. Further difficulties arose when Ratchet accidentally hit some powerlines, causing a blackout. The blackout and their shuffling around attracted the unwanted attention of [[Ron Witwicky|the]] [[Judy Witwicky|parents]], and Mikaela hid before they came in. This led to some awkward conversation as Sam tried to explain what was going on, until Mikaela finally stood up, revealing her presence as a "a friend" of Sam's. This genuinely delighted his parents, and his mother rather awkwardly apologized for their family discussion. Mikaela commented that she thought Mrs. Witwicky was nice.

When [[Sector Seven]] forcibly detained Mikaela and Sam's family, [[Seymour Simmons|Agent Simmons]] revealed that she had a police record, confirmed that she was hot, and threatened her father's upcoming parole hearing. This strategy nearly made Mikaela cry...until Optimus Prime ripped off the roof of their SUV and demanded that the agents get out of the car and release the two teens. After the Autobots rescued the pair, Sam expressed misgivings about Mikaela's history. She huffily confided to him that her record stemmed from her refusal to turn her father over to the authorities. Sector Seven soon recaptured both teenagers (along with Bumblebee) and brought them to [[Hoover Dam]]. There Sam negotiated with Simmons to have Mikaela's criminal record expunged as part of his reward for helping Sector Seven with the information he had about the Transformers. Mikaela was pleased with and grateful for Sam's change in attitude toward her.

Inside Hoover Dam, the teens, along [[John Keller|Defense Secretary Keller]], [[Maggie Madsen|two]] [[Glen Whitmann|hackers]], and [[William Lennox|some]] [[Robert Epps|soldiers]], were shown the frozen body of [[Megatron (Movie)|N.B.E.-1]], which Sam and Mikaela recognized as Megatron, as well as a demonstration of the All Spark. However, the robot hiding in Mikaela's purse had slipped away and contacted the other Decepticons. Sam, with some help from one of the soldiers, managed to convince Sector Seven to release Bumblebee, who reformatted the cube.

They group fled to [[Mission City]], soon joined by the Autobots. During the Decepticon attack at Mission City, Bumblebee was injured by [[Starscream (Movie)|Starscream]], and Mikaela strapped the injured Bumblebee to an abandoned tow truck. Sam told her to get Bumblebee (and herself) away from the battle, while he took the All Spark to a building to be extracted by the military. They left, but Mikaela was soon overcome with guilt and frustration for having left. Looking at Bumblebee, the injured robot gave a simple nod, and Mikaela decided to go back. She drove the tow truck backwards through the battle while Bumblebee shot at [[Brawl (Movie)|the tank]], destroying the Decepticon.

Mikaela was part of the resistance in the Decepticon-occupied United States. She's an experienced veteran of guerilla warfare and partnered with Bumblebee, who was an old friend by this point. She still grieved over Sam's death.

She wore tight, body-hugging black spy clothes, including leather gloves and long boots. Hawt.

She and Bumblebee raided a Decepticon facility (the former [[Sector Seven]] base) to rescue Optimus Prime, Earth's last hope—only to find him frozen and offline—and to attract Megatron's attention. {{storylink|Transformers Comic issue 9|Twilight's Last Gleaming, Part: 1}} While the tyrant hunted Bumblebee, Mikaela tried to thaw out Optimus with guidance from [[Tom Banachek]]. Unfortunately, [[Frenzy (Movie)|Frenzy]] was watching her... {{storylink|Transformers Comic issue 10|Twilight's Last Gleaming, Part: 2}} ...and when he shot at her, she dodged and grabbed a fire-axe, ''this'' time intending to finish him for good. {{storylink|Transformers Comic issue 11|Twilight's Last Gleaming, Part: 3}} The Decepticon managed to evade her attacks and smacked her backwards into the liquid nitrogen tanks, but she appeared to have planned this: she avoided his finishing blow, allowing him to shatter the tank (freezing him to death in the process) while she escaped the area with a really cool slide under the door. Phase One was now complete and Optimus Prime was thawing out.

Phase Two involved entering a restricted area of the base with Banachek's help and locating an old Sector Seven experiment {{storylink|Transformers Comic issue 12|Twilight's Last Gleaming, Part: 4}}: a nanovirus designed to block All Spark operational frequencies. This caused the All Spark's powers to consume Megatron from the inside, killing him for good. Which basically meant Mikaela single-handedly saved all of Earth and reversed the Autobots' fortunes. You go, girl! (Okay, Bumblebee helped.) {{storylink|Transformers Comic issue 13|Twilight's Last Gleaming, Part: 5}}

Following the liberation of America, Mikaela (who was optimistic that humanity would one day accept the Autobots) took a position of authority at an emergency medical shelter in [[Savannah]], [[Georgia]]; a mysterious illness had begun sweeping through the area. To make matters worse, the Decepticons attacked the shelter, and Mikaela tried to evacuate the patients to a safer location. {{storylink|Transformers Comic issue 14|Aftermath Part 1}} When human tanks joined in the assault on the Autobots, Mikaela called into Tom Banachek to get the attack stopped; when orders to stop were ignored, it became clear something was wrong and she and Bumblebee ran a gauntlet of hostile enemies to reach the tank commander and free him from Decepticon mind control. {{storylink|Transformers Comic issue 15|Aftermath Part 2}}

She was later summoned by President [[Theodore Allen]] to [[Washington, D.C.]]. The President was very interested in her unparalleled access to the Autobots - and so were the Decepticons and their human-controlling cerebro-strips... {{storylink|Transformers Comic issue 18|Return to Cybertron: Part 2}} Following this, the Autobots left her to watch over their Savannah base while they went to Cybertron. Starscream enjoyed taunting her, hoping part of her mind still functioned and was screaming for help. {{storylink|Transformers Comic issue 21|Hard Target}} He also knew the Autobots would come back to rescue her, and set up an ambush for when they did. The Autobot's strategy succeeded though, freeing Mikaela from the control-chip and successfully evacuating her. She was overjoyed to be rescued, and ''very angry'' with Starscream. Based on her previous Con-killing record, he's ''doomed''. {{storylink|Transformers Comic issue 22|The Decepticon Who Haunted Himself}}

Following this, she relocated to Falls Church, [[Virginia]].

When the brainwashed President Allen ordered the Autobots off American soil, as part of a "truce" with the Decepticons, Mikaela refused to accept this, reacting first with blind anger and then grief at the idea of losing her friend Bumblebee. He promised her he would come back, so it was a ''bit'' of a pisser when, seeing the Autobots off at [[Andrews Air Force Base]], she witnessed an American nuclear missile hit their departing ship... {{storylink|Transformers Comic issue 23|Revolution Part 1}}

The day after, all she could do was sit at home watching the news and crying over her loss. {{storylink|Transformers Comic issue 24|Revolution Part 2}}

Having somehow managed to go to sleep during a nationwide ''Decepticon war'', she was surprised to be woken by Tom Banachek at 4AM for a secret rendez-vous... and ''really'' surprised to learn he'd been secretly identifying Decepticon puppets for the Autobot's final strike... and really ''pissed'' to learn the Autobots had actually faked their deaths and Bumblebee hadn't told her, after all they'd been through. While Bumblebee protested otherwise, she believed they didn't trust her to not be captured and enslaved again.

She witnessed the final battle against the Decepticons—and an Autobot victory by teleporting all the Decepticons to Cybertron, leaving them trapped. To her shock, she realised the Autobots had just willingly trapped ''themselves'' on Earth this way.

Now there was just a lot of clean-up to do, with her and Tom having to sort out all the people brainwashed by the Decepticons. Her relationship with Sam had complicated as neither had summoned the courage to say to one another "I ''love'' you." As Sam was packing for college, she called to announce that she was breaking up with him, mostly so she wouldn't have to say goodbye. Sam, however, had already gotten her a long-distance relationship kit, including a webcam. This convinced her not to dump him, though she was grossed out to learn that he offered to leave her his Mission City shirt. While they were talking, Sam discovered a shard of the [[AllSpark (Movie)|All Spark]] in the preserved clothes he wore the day he destroyed it, and it brought his kitchen appliances to life. Mikaela arrived after [[Bumblebee (Movie)|Bumblebee]] destroyed the [[Appliancebot]]s, and as Sam bid farewell to his car, she got changed in an effort to impress him into saying the magic words: unfortunately, as he left, he could only say that he ''adored'' her. Mikaela got ready for her first webcam date with Sam, but he was absent, having been taken by his new roommates to a party. The day after, she got a call from Sam saying he had a nervous breakdown in class and was seeing [[Cyberglyphics]] everywhere, and asked her to bring the All Spark fragment to him. Mikaela overheard noises and found a Decepticon named [[Wheelie (ROTF)|Wheelie]] trying to crack the safe with the shard in it. She grabbed him with a pair of tongs and burnt out his optic with a blowtorch before chaining him inside a box. She flew to [[Princeton University]] with Wheelie and the fragment, entering Sam's room to find symbols scribbled all over the walls, and [[Alice]] on top of Sam. Mikaela left, proclaiming their relationship was over. She burst back when she overheard struggling noises, as did [[Leo Spitz]], and found Sam being strangled by Alice's long mechanical tongue. Mikaela threw the box containing Wheelie at Alice, but she was too quick and ducked, making the box go through the window. Seeing the girl transform, she ran with Leo and her shrieking boyfriend into the library. Mikaela snapped at Sam for what had happened, but he protested he had not enjoyed Alice's seduction due to her unnatural strength. The organic Decepticon burst in, blasting at any movement the three of them made, eventually blowing a hole in the library wall. The trio broke into someone's car that Mikaela hotwired, with Leo complimenting on her skills, she got it started just in time to pin Alice to the hood and run the villainess into a lightpost before taking off and running over her.

As they fled, [[Grindor (ROTF)|Grindor]] dropped a hook into Mikaela's car and dropped them at an abandoned factory. [[Starscream (Movie)|Starscream]] sawed the car in half, and [[Megatron (Movie)|Megatron]] raised his head up behind Mikaela. The resurrected and clearly vengeful commander threw Sam to the floor. Mikaela was distressed as Megatron grasped at him, professing his desire to kill him painfully, but he had work to do. [[Scalpel]] came, creating a projection of the symbols in Sam's mind, and decided to remove his brain. [[Optimus Prime (Movie)|Optimus Prime]] and Bumblebee burst in, ending the experiment. Mikaela and Leo were driven away by Bumblebee, while Optimus took Sam to a forest where he sacrificed himself to protect the boy. Sam, Mikaela and Leo were driven to an abandoned factory by Bumblebee, [[Skids (ROTF)|Skids]] and [[Mudflap (ROTF)|Mudflap]], as [[The Fallen]] broadcast a demand for Sam's head.

Leo suggested they figure out Sam's hallucinations by meeting his online rival [[Robo-Warrior]], who turned out to be [[Seymour Simmons]], now working in a deli in [[New York City]]. Simmons was aggressive towards Sam and Mikaela, blaming them for the loss of his job, but was intrigued by his problems and revealed similar symbols had been spotted in ancient sites across the world, indicating Transformer activity. Mikaela decided to free Wheelie, who was in Bumblebee's trunk, promising not to harm him if he decoded the symbols. Wheelie recognized them as the language of the [[Dynasty of Primes]], but needed a [[Seeker (ROTF)|Seeker]] to read them. The group found their Seeker, [[Jetfire (ROTF)|Jetfire]], at the Smithsonian. When Jetfire revealed he was once a Decepticon, Wheelie was pleased to understand one could defect, and humped Mikaela's leg in joy. Sam was disgusted, but she didn't mind, joking he was more faithful than her boyfriend.

Jetfire explained nineteen thousand years ago, The Fallen built a [[solar harvester]] on Earth, but the necessary component—the [[Matrix of Leadership]]-was taken and hidden in the [[Tomb of the Primes]]. Sam suggested the Matrix be used to resurrect Optimus, and found its remains in [[Petra]] after decoding the only clue. Returning to the [[pyramid]]s of [[Egypt]], Mikaela ran with her boyfriend and dodged Decepticons left, right and center to bring the Matrix to Optimus. Despite a successful strike by the [[United States Air Force]], Megatron appeared and shot at Sam. After getting an undeserved A- for his genealogy report, Sam and his father went to buy a car. Though they passed a [[Jazz (G1)|Porsche]] car lot, Ron was actually playing a cruel joke on his son (real smart, considering that he'll eventually get [[wikipedia:Power_of_attorney|power of attorney]] someday). Going to [[Bobby Bolivia]]'s car lot, they went shopping for a used car. Sam spotted a Camaro that he liked, but Ron, ever the cheap man, refused to go over four thousand dollars. However, when all the windows in the car lot suddenly exploded, Bolivia agreed to four thousand.

Taking his buddy Miles to the lake, they encountered Mikaela and her boyfriend [[Trent DeMarco|Trent]]. Trent pretty much told them to get lost, but Mikaela then dumped Trent. Realizing he had his one shot, Sam abandoned Miles and offered to give Mikaela a ride home. When his car had some engine trouble, Mikaela looked under the hood and was quite impressed with the layout of the Camaro's engine, though Sam was more impressed with the layout of Mikaela. After giving her a ride home, Mikaela asked Sam if he thought she was shallow. Sam awkwardly replied that he thought there was "more than meets the eye...with you". After berating himself for his lame pickup line, Mikaela waved goodbye from her porch, and Sam felt that he had made progress, and said he loved his car.

Later that night, his car suddenly left. Believing it was being stolen, Sam followed it to an abandoned junkyard. To his shock and horror, the car was [[Transformer|alive]]. Sam left his last words to his parents and [[Mojo]], where he acknowledged that he owned ''Busty Beauties'' that were given to him by [[Uncle Charles]], then investigated. Some police came and arrested him, and an overzealous cop, believing him to be a junkie, called him "[[50 Cent]]". Returning home, [[Unicron|Satan's]] Camaro arrived, and Sam fled ignominiously on his [[Judy Witwicky|mother's]] pink bike. He hit the cement hard in front of Mikaela, and soon found a police car. He demanded the officer's help... at which point said police car turned into [[Barricade (Movie)|an even scarier car]]. After throwing Sam onto a nearby car, the cop car demanded the location of Sam's eBay items, but Sam fled and ran into Mikaela. The Camaro arrived and took them to a power plant, where the two cars fought it out, while Sam was chased by [[Frenzy (Movie)|a spastic abomination]] who pantsed him. Mikaela was able to cut off its head, which Sam punted.

Sam and Mikaela approached the Camaro, who could only speak through his radio, and offered a ride. Mikaela was hesitant, but Sam convinced her to get in. While driving, Sam had shotgun, but Mikaela refused to sit in the driver's seat. Sam suggested that she sit in his lap. Safety first, right? She agreed, then admitted to Sam that it was a smooth move on his part. Mikaela then asked if the robot was so advanced, then why did he turn into a piece of crap Camaro? Insulted, the car forced them out. As Sam lamented how four thousand dollars had driven off, the car returned as a 2009 Camaro. Taking the teens to an observatory, they watched as four meteors entered Earth's atmosphere, during which Mikaela instinctively reached out for Sam's hand. They were then escorted to an abandoned alley, where they met the biggest surprises of them all. Four other cars [[Transformation|transformed]] into robots. The lead robot, after inquiring about Sam's identity, introduced himself as [[Optimus Prime (Movie)|Optimus Prime]], [[Prime (rank)|leader]] of the [[Autobot|Autobots]], autonomous robotic lifeforms from a planet known as [[Cybertron (planet)|Cybertron]]. Prime introduced [[Jazz (Movie)|Jazz]], his first lieutenant, [[Ironhide (Movie)|Ironhide]], his weapons expert, [[Ratchet (Movie)|Ratchet]], their medical officer (who claimed that Sam's pheromone level indicated that he wanted to mate with Mikaela, embarrassing both teens), and identified the Camaro as Bumblebee, Sam's appointed guardian. Optimus explained their mission to locate the [[AllSpark (Movie)|All Spark]], the betrayal of [[Megatron (Movie)|Megatron]] and the [[Decepticon|Decepticons]], and how Archibald Witwicky's [[glasses]] played a vital role in finding the All Spark.

Going to his house, Sam frantically searched for the glasses, but the Autobots were somewhat impatient and totally wrecked his dad's backyard. After finding the glasses, government agents arrived. Their leader, [[Seymour Simmons|Agent Simmons]], took Sam and Mikaela into custody, separating Sam from his parents. Simmons went bad cop on Sam, threatening him with life imprisonment and revealing Mikaela's criminal record. Just as Simmons demanded answers about aliens, Prime intercepted the convoy, and the Autobots totally outclassed the agents. Sam demanded to know what [[Sector Seven]] was, but a backup team arrived. Prime took Sam and Mikaela to hide under a bridge, but they nearly fell to their deaths. Bumblebee saved them, but was captured, and Sam and Mikaela recaptured.

Taken to [[Hoover Dam]], Simmons tried the awkward role of good cop, but Sam was uninterested in talking. [[Tom Banachek]] tried to bribe him, and Sam demanded the freeing of Bumblebee, his parents, and the expunging of Mikaela's criminal record. Taking them into the Dam, Sector Seven showed them [[Megatron (Movie)|N.B.E.-1]], who Sam recognized as Megatron. He explained Megatron's goals, and the purpose of the All Spark. However, the spastic abomination that pantsed him sent a message to the Decepticons, who attacked. Sam implored Sector Seven to release Bumblebee, saying he could help, which [[William Lennox|Captain Lennox]] assisted by putting a gun to Simmons's chest. Bumblebee converted the All Spark to a smaller form, and the soldiers escorted the two teens and Bumblebee to [[Mission City]], soon augmented by the Autobots.

Upon reaching Mission City, an F-22 Raptor was spotted, which Ironhide recognized as [[Starscream (Movie)|Starscream]]. Starscream attacked, damaging Bumblebee's legs, and [[Brawl (Movie)|a tank]] attacked the soldiers. As the Autobots and the soldiers went to deal with the tank, Mikaela arrived with a tow truck to remove Bumblebee from the battle. Megatron soon arrived and killed Jazz, and Lennox ordered Sam to take the All Spark to a building to be escorted out of the city. Despite his refusal to leave, Bumblebee handed the Cube to Sam, urging him to go. Sam was pursued by Megatron, Starscream, and [[Blackout (Movie)|a helicopter]], with Ratchet and Ironhide providing protection, but they were injured by Starscream, and Sam was forced to leave without them. During his flight, Sam dropped the All Spark, causing [[Steering wheel robot|some]] [[Dispensor|nearby]] [[Xbox 360 robot|machines]] to come to life. Reaching the building, Sam ignited a flare, but his ride was destroyed by Starscream.

Cornered on the roof, Megatron demanded the All Spark, in exchange for living to be [[Ravage (G1)|his]] [[Laserbeak (G1)|pet]], but Sam refused. Megatron used his flail to knock Sam off the roof, but Sam was saved by Optimus Prime. Telling Sam to hold onto the cube, Prime tried to scale down the building, but Megatron knocked them all off. Prime managed to shield Sam from any serious injury, however. Prime expressed admiration for Sam's efforts, and told him that if he couldn't defeat Megatron, Sam was to merge the Cube with his [[spark]], destroying both Prime and the All Spark. However, Megatron was too powerful for Optimus to defeat alone, and Prime told Sam to push the cube into the Autobot's chest. Instead, Sam merged the All Spark with Megatron, killing him. Optimus extended his thanks, telling him he owed Sam a debt of gratitude. Bumblebee, who could now speak, requested permission to stay with Sam, to which Sam eagerly agreed. Sam and Mikaela entered into a relationship, and made out on Bumblebee's hood while Ironhide and Ratchet observed.

They explained they'd been framed for a crime they didn't commit, they had vital intelligence of a secret Decepticon army, and they wanted Sam to inform Optimus because he trusted him. Sam, being a smart kid, didn't think much of wild stories by two strangers who'd abducted him, and said he'd ''think'' about it. When Bumblebee turned up and the twins accelerated, he stopped thinking and starting banging on Skids window in a desire to GTFO.

About two years later, Sam had graduated from high school and was preparing to go to college. He still found it difficult to say "I love you" to Mikaela.

Sam found a shard of the All Spark left inside his clothing from the battle in Mission City which (a) brought numerous kitchen devices to life and (b) imprinted a large collection of ancient Cybertronian knowledge onto his brain. After [[Bumblebee (Movie)|Bumblebee]] destroyed the kitchen robots (and parts of the Witwickys' house with them), Sam handed the All Spark shard to [[Mikaela Banes|Mikaela]]. In a wrenching heart-to-heart with Bumblebee, he dismissed him from his role as guardian, saying it was time for Bumblebee to rejoin the other Autobots (and Sam wasn't allowed to have a car at college anyway.)

Arriving at college, Sam met his roommate, [[Leo Spitz]], who operated a [[The Real Effing Deal|conspiracy website]] and was convinced that alien robots were hiding on Earth. At a frat party, Sam also met his fellow student [[Alice]], who immediately and forcefully attempted to seduce Sam. When Bumblebee showed up, Alice invited herself along on a ride with Sam, but Bumblebee did everything he could to convince her to leave. After finally getting rid of her, Bumblebee took Sam to Optimus Prime, who was convinced—for some reason—that Sam was in danger. Even more strangely, Optimus asked Sam to act as a go-between for the Autobots to humanity at large. Sam, wanting to be normal, declined.

Because no good deed goes unpunished, of course, Sam shortly thereafter began to see [[Cyberglyphics|strange symbols]]. He also developed a nasty eye tic and decided to assert in front of about three hundred of his colleagues that Einstein was wrong, that the first four dimensions were unfairly in the spotlight, and what about the other thirteen that nobody ever talks about? He began to write out the symbols in support of this theory on a blackboard in front of his class.

After recovering from this outburst, Sam believed it might have something to do with him touching the All Spark shard, and he contacted his girlfriend to warn her not to touch the shard. Mikaela promptly boarded a plane to see Sam, but when she arrived, she found him in what appeared to be an intimate moment with Alice. Fortunately for Sam's relationship, Alice turned out to be a killer alien robot. Mikaela, Sam and Leo, who stumbled across Alice's robotic self by coincidence, tried to escape, but were captured by the Decepticons. After Sam's failure at relating to a thirty-foot-tall robot, Megatron ordered a small, glasses-wearing robot called [[Scalpel|The Doctor]] to remove Sam's brain in order to access the information from the All Spark shard, but Optimus Prime and Bumblebee managed to locate them and free Sam, Mikaela and Leo.

Together, they attempted to flee, but in order for Sam to escape, Optimus Prime had to fight off Megatron, Starscream and [[Grindor (ROTF)|Grindor]] all by himself. After killing Grindor, Optimus was impaled by Megatron and died. Just then, the other Autobots arrived, causing Megatron and Starscream to retreat; Sam was safe, for the moment at least.

In a hijacked TV broadcast, The Fallen revealed his existence to the world public and demanded Sam to be surrendered to him. Decepticons landed around the globe, killing several thousand people. In Paris, one of them tracked down Sam's parents, [[Ron Witwicky|Ron]] and [[Judy Witwicky]]. A manhunt began for Sam.

Sam hid out with Mikaela, Leo, Bumblebee and the Autobot twins, [[Skids (ROTF)|Skids]] and [[Mudflap (ROTF)|Mudflap]]. Leo eventually suggested they ask his rival, "[[Robo-Warrior]]", owner of a [[GiantEffingRobots.com|competing website]], for help. To everyone's surprise, Robo-Warrior turned out to be none other than [[Seymour Simmons]], former agent of [[Sector Seven]]. Simmons revealed that symbols similar to those Sam was obsessed with had been found on numerous excavation sites around the world, but in order to read them, they might need a Decepticon. Mikaela just happened to be carrying around [[Wheelie (ROTF)|a Decepticon]], who when interrogated, suggested they track down one of the [[Seeker (ROTF)|Seekers]], a species of Transformer that had been present on Earth for much of its history.

At the Smithsonian National Air and Space Museum, they discovered an old Decepticon named [[Jetfire (ROTF)|Jetfire]], disguised as an SR-71 Blackbird. Jetfire claimed to have defected to the Autobots and told them about The Fallen, who betrayed his brothers, the [[Seven Primes|Primes]], many millennia ago. The Fallen intended to destroy the Earth's sun in order to create [[Energon (fuel)|Energon]], the Transformers' source of energy. The symbols in Sam's head were a map to the location of the [[solar harvester]], the weapon the Fallen intended to use to destroy the sun. Jetfire also revealed that only a Prime could stop The Fallen, and a key was needed to activate the Harvester, the [[Matrix of Leadership]]. Sam asks Jetfire whether the Matrix would also revive Optimus Prime, to which Jetfire responded that it might be possible given the unusual radiation that the Matrix generates.

Jetfire opened a [[space bridge]] and teleported himself as well as Sam, Mikaela, Leo, Simmons, Bumblebee and the Twins to [[Egypt]]. Between the Pyramids of Giza, they found the next clue and traveled to Jordan, after a stopover for the night in which Sam totally failed at declaring his love for Mikaela. On the way, Simmons called Lennox and instructed him to get his team, as well as the dead body of Optimus Prime, to Egypt. In Petra, they discovered the tomb of the Primes. Inside, Sam found the Matrix, which crumbled to dust when he touched it. Sam collected the dust regardless, and together, they traveled back to Egypt.

Meanwhile, the NEST team parachuted down and prepared for battle near the pyramids, having realised the Decepticons were on their way. Before Sam and the others could get back to Lennox and his people, the Decepticons commenced their assault. While the Autobots and NEST fought the Decepticons, Megatron used Sam's parents to lure him into a trap. Sam, falling into the trap, stalled for time by offering to hand over the Matrix dust to the Constructicon [[Rampage (ROTF)|Rampage]], till he was rescued by Bumblebee. Sam ordered Bumblebee to get his parents to safety while he and Mikaela tried to reach Optimus Prime's body.

Sam was mortally wounded by the blast of a shot fired by Megatron. While paramedics tried to reanimate him, the Matrix dust was spilled across his hand, and Sam encountered the dead Primes in a vision. The Primes told him that he was destined to find the Matrix and save the life of the last Prime. Sam returned to life, and the dust in his hand reassembled itself into the Matrix. Sam took the opportunity to tell Mikaela that he loved her. With the Matrix, Sam was able to revive Optimus Prime, who ultimately was able to defeat the Fallen.

They soon realized that the All Spark's power, though vast, was not infinite, and required the energy of stars to be replenished. Once a nearby star went nova, the All Spark created a worker race, the Transformers, who would assist the Dynasty in replenishing the All Spark. One of the thirteen, later known as the Fallen, {{storylink|Defiance issue 4}} decided it'd be quicker to get power by harvesting ''any'' sun, local lifeforms or no local lifeforms. He harvested the sun of a living world behind his brother's backs, only to be caught and told off; next time, the entire Dynasty (all <strike>thirteen</strike> seven of them) would decide on the harvester's use.

In response, the Fallen assembled his own army, the [[Decepticon]]s, and deliberately built a harvester on Earth... in order to draw his brothers into a trap. {{storylink|Tales of the Fallen issue 3}} A great battle erupted as the Fallen fought to gain the All Spark's power for himslef. However, once he had destroyed his <strike>six</strike> twelve brothers' [[sarcophagus|sarcophagi]], he realized that they were able to still act, trapping him in his own sarcophagus. Thousands of years later, the [[Science Division]] discovered the Fallen's sarcophagus and the remains of the other Twelve's sarcophagi. The seventh, however, insisted on using the harvester anyway upon weighing the longevity of his planet and his race against a seemingly meaningless organic world. This Prime quickly turned on his brothers and their creed, waging war against them, with those who agreed with his ideals by his side. After attacking and killing many of his fellow Primes and slaughtering a large number of early [[human]]s he was thereafter ever known as "The Fallen." The remaining Primes mounted an attack on their new nemesis and hid the [[Matrix of Leadership#Live-action film series|Matrix of Leadership]]—without which he could not activate the harvester—in a [[Tomb of the Primes|tomb composed of their own bodies]] on the very planet he sought to destroy, using the last of their energy left from the epic battle to completely seal it.

According to Sam Witwicky, who had absorbed the All Spark, [[Sentinel Prime (ROTF)|Sentinel Prime]] led an expedition where it took him fourteen galactic convergences to get an echo of something, seemingly related to the existence of other dimensions where the theory of relativity was not applicable.

In the present day, their descendant [[Optimus Prime (Movie)|Optimus Prime]] perished in battle whilst protecting the human adolescent [[Sam Witwicky]], the chosen vessel of the All Spark after the Cube's physical destruction. With the seemingly confusing knowledge of an advanced alien civilization in his mind, Sam and his companions set out to find the Matrix of Leadership after learning it might be the only thing that could resurrect Optimus—the last of the Primes—who was the only being who could defeat "The Fallen". Travelling to [[Petra]] in [[Jordan]], Sam discovered the Tomb of the Primes hidden within, quickly discovering the small Matrix. His hopes were soon dampened however, when the artifact crumbled into dust upon it being moved. According to [[Jetfire (ROTF)|Jetfire]], the Dynasty of Primes was formed by the first Thirteen Cybertronians. These beings could not transform, but they and their transforming descendants possessed powers beyond that of the average Cybertronian. The Dynasty ruled Cybertron and protected the All Spark, replenishing it with the energy harvested from stars. However, the Dynasty of Primes was also benevolent, believing that all life was sacred, and refused to harvest stars with worlds inhabited by sentient races. To better prevent abuse, the Dynasty guarded the Matrix of Leadership, an artifact formed by the All Spark to power the [[Solar harvester|Great Machines]] used to harvest stars. However, one of these Primes believed that they should harvest the star [[Sun|Sol]], which promised to yield vast amounts of energy, even though Sol was orbited by a small world with primitive inhabitants, [[human]]s. After this plan was unanimously rejected by the others, this Prime betrayed and killed most of his brothers, but one survived and hid the Matrix in the Tomb of the Primes on [[Earth]], fusing it shut with his own life essense. The Fallen, as the renegade Prime was now known, dispatched the [[Seeker (ROTF)|Seeker]]s to retrieve the Matrix, but they were unsuccessful and eventually abandoned. On Cybertron, the Fallen hunted down and killed every last Prime he could find, knowing that they were a threat to him. A single orphan was hidden away with no knowledge of his lineage: Optimus Prime.

In time, The Fallen encountered Megatron, and directed him to form the Decepticons, promising him the powers of a Prime in exchange for his loyalty. When Megatron left Optimus Prime in stasis lock, the last threat to the Fallen was removed, and he prepared for his return to Earth. However, [[Sam Witwicky]], using the knowledge of the All Spark within his mind, found the Matrix in [[Petra]], [[Jordan]]. Unfortunately, it had turned to dust in the millennia in the tomb. When his heart stopped after an attack by Megatron, Sam communed with the [[spark]]s of the Twelve original Primes, who had judged Sam worthy of stewardship of the Matrix, and instructed him to merge the Matrix with Optimus. The Dynasty then returned Sam to life and transferred the knowledge of the All Spark into the restored Matrix. With the Matrix restored, Sam used it to revive Optimus Prime and give him the knowledge of his ancestors. Unfortunately, the Fallen then attacked and stole the Matrix, activating the harvester.

Using parts donated by a critically injured Jetfire, Optimus went to the solar harvester, recovered the Matrix, and confronted the Fallen. In the battle that followed, Optimus proclaimed that the Fallen had forfeited his right to be a Prime when he slaughtered his brothers, and told Megatron that Primes were born, not made. Realizing he had been betrayed, Megatron and Starscream abandoned the Fallen and used the space bridge he had created to escape. Optimus then impaled the Fallen through the head with his own spear. Here, [[Rhinox (BW)|Rhinox]] helped acquire a mysterious complement to their cargo, a very large [[protoform]] branded with an X. The ''Axalon'' was ordered to dispose of "Protoform X" on a barren moon somewhere in the [[Alpha Quadrant]]. However, before its captain, [[Optimus Primal]], was able to explain the circumstances fully to his crew, they were suddenly under even newer orders to pursue a stolen [[Predacon (BW)|Predacon]] ship, the ''[[Darksyde]]''. Protoform X was a [[Maximal]] experiment to recreate [[Starscream (G1)|Starscream's]] mutant, immortal [[Spark]]. Though arguably successful in this regard, the creation was unstable. In point of fact, he was criminally insane. He destroyed [[Colony Omicron]], killing all of its inhabitants save a lone security officer, [[Depth Charge (BW)|Depth Charge]], who eventually tracked him down and captured him - but not before Protoform X destroyed [[Starbase Rugby]] and ''devoured'' an unknown number of the inhabitants. The [[Maximal Elder|Maximal Elders]] had Protoform X placed into a [[stasis pod]] aboard an exploration vessel, the ''Axalon''. They instructed its commander, Optimus Primal, to dump him on some barren world in deep space.

Protoform X was among the stasis pods jettisoned by Optimus when the ''Axalon'' was damaged by [[Megatron (BW)|Megatron's]] Predacons, and only fell out of orbit far into the Beast Wars. Battle near his stasis pod shocked him into activation, and he promptly set out to terrorize all nearby Transformers, rending Tarantulas limb from limb and stalking Blackarachnia and Silverbolt. (All right, whose bright idea was it to allow the homicidal maniac to keep his weapons!?) X seemed unstoppable at first, but when one of Silverbolt's missiles jammed his tank treads as he climbed up a mountainside, he lost his grip and tumbled down the rock face in pieces.

As Protoform X lay immobilized, Megatron arrived and, using a blade of pure [[Energon (fuel)|energon]], removed a portion of his indestructible spark. Megatron then had him brought back to the Predacon base and repaired. When X attempted to turn his weapons on his "savior", Megatron revealed that he held half of X's spark in a special cage lined with energon crystals, allowing him to torture the beast at will. Megatron thus welcomed him into the Predacon fold, dubbing him "Rampage". {{storylink|Bad Spark|Bad Spark}}

Rampage made no secret of his hatred for his new "master". Megatron kept the spark cage with him at all times, fending off at least one attempt by Rampage to take it back. Though a violent sociopath, Rampage was not without compassion. He found a kindred spirit in the badly damaged [[Transmutate (character)|Transmutate]] and sought to protect it from the other Predacons, and became possessive enough to viciously fight with [[Silverbolt (BW)|Silverbolt]] over it. When Transmutate was killed by this fight, Rampage bellowed in grief. {{storylink|Transmutate (episode)|Transmutate}}

Rampage finally met his match in battle when the newly-reformatted Optimus Primal attacked him while he was attempting to push the ''[[Axalon (BW)|Axalon]]'' over the cliff from which it perched. The huge Maximal leader simply shoved him aside, but Rampage had the last laugh as his deflected missile sent the Maximal base plunging into the lake. {{storylink|Optimal Situation|Optimal Situation}}

Later, Depth Charge arrived on prehistoric Earth with the single-minded goal of destroying Rampage. Rampage was beside himself with joy, eager for revenge on his old "playmate". Depth Charge's loss at Colony Omicron had embittered him, and Rampage used this emotional wound to torment the Maximal. {{storylink|Deep Metal|Deep Metal}} Rampage soon met his old enemy again when [[Rattrap]] descended to the bottom of the lake to retrieve the [[Sentinel (BW)|Sentinel]] module from the wreckage of the ''Axalon''. :Rampage transforms into a Transmetal king crab with a tank mode that includes rubber treads. In beast mode, he features fully articulated crab legs and pincers that can open, close and be posed in a variety of angles through the use of ratcheting joints. His triple-barreled Gatling missile launcher is stored on the underside of the beast mode, with its barrels flipping to the front during vehicle mode. In this tank mode, the crab legs fit together to form a road wheel network for Rampage's rubber treads to fit over so he can roll upon them. Rolling the tank activates the wheel in the missile launcher, firing any or all of the three missiles that can store in it.

:In robot mode, Rampage is an imposingly large figure with a decent level of articulation due to his ball joints, but because he wears most of his beast mode as a sort of backpack, he is quite back-heavy. His (very) small laser rifle and his triple-barreled launcher can be held in both of his hands. There were two releases of the toy, one with face colors accurate with the show and another with an orange colored face (seen to the right).

:The location of four of the crab legs in the show is not accurate to the toy; the show has the legs on the shoulder pads, whereas the toy situates the legs on Rampage's arms (which mean they are rather cumbersome).

How this jibes with his status as "Protoform X" is anyone's guess.
* In some episodes, Rampage's robot-mode mouth is animated as an actual hole in his face; in others the external mouthplates are shown to be in front of a greenish solid construct that looks like an extension of his eyes.

Or, Rampage could just be completely insane.
* No explanation is ever given for why energon suddenly kills Rampage, even though Megatron's been poking his spark with it ever since he appeared. Although the fact the energon was unstable may have had something to do with it.
* Also, the difference between the splitting (and subsequent torturing) of Rampage's spark, and Depth Charge's fateful blow may be seen to be the same as the difference between surgery and hacking at someone with a sword, with the same difference in results.
* Back-of-the-box art for Rampage gives technical designations to some of his robot mode parts; they include "terror claws", armor plating, and the ever-dreaded [[Galva-conductor|galva-conductors]].
* His vehicle mode is often described as a tank. However, it's characteristics are those of a [[Wikipedia:Tank destroyer|tank destroyer]], rather than a proper battle tank.
