What the fuck is up with the Pretender Shell bit? what's the relevance, and how is it ANY different from the other three uses of the damn mold? --M Sipher 07:50, 11 May 2007 (UTC)
:What's the relevance of claiming to not know where Spider-Man's powers come from? While the other uses of the mold have robotic heads, Mace Windu's looks human. I was struck by the similarity to the transforming Autobot Pretender shells, which also transform from powered armor with human heads to vehicles and are operated by a smaller guy inside. The possibility of Mace blending in on a planet of giants amused me, and postulating their existence isn't blatantly counterfactual. :Ravage is a Decepticon from the Revenge of the Fallen franchise in the live-action film continuity family.

Ravage specializes in infiltration. A frequent partner of Soundwave, he does the dirty work of the larger Decepticon. Ravage's body and armament are all dedicated to hitting the enemy before they even know what hit them. He can be orbitally inserted at fifteen times the speed of sound, spy inside highly secure locations using swarms of microcons, and generally ruin your day. He respects the danger humans present though, as they were the ones who managed to kill Megatron.

Some doubt Ravage's sentience, and there is debate on the degree to which he is a distinct entity, rather than an extension of Soundwave's will. However, he's displayed guile, cunning, and split-second tactical thinking, making it hard for others to believe he does not have some innate intelligence. In reality, Ravage just considers the other Decepticons beneath him, and allows his eerie, silent ways and manner to alienate him from his comrades. Soundwave is the one exception: the two are kindred spirits, understanding each other's true nature and motives.

Ravage was dispatched to NEST's Scotland base to find, interrogate, and kill Skids and Mudflap before they could pass on information about the Decepticon plans. Easily breaking into one of the most secure bases on Earth, he went on to swiftly knock out Sideswipe and attempt to rip into the twins. While they were able to evade him, Ravage shrugged off any attack and finally cornered Mudflap, broadcasting Soundwave's demands to him.

This, however, was a trap the twins had set up, and Ravage found himself trapped in a simulated combat exercise. To escape, he faked unconsciousness and then snuck out the back when nobody was looking. But he made sure to bug the base before he left... Transformers Comic issue 2.4
From his vantage point high in orbit above Earth, Ravage's master Soundwave located the last remaining shard of the AllSpark in a NEST holding facility on Diego Garcia, and dispatched Ravage to retrieve it. Launched from Soundwave's chest, Ravage plummeted through Earth's atmosphere in re-entry mode and impacted just off Diego Garcia's shore, bounding to land in the blink of an eye. Quickly and stealthily, the feline Decepticon knocked several of the base's security sensors offline to cover his approach, then proceeded to vomit a large quantity of small, metallic spheres down a ventilation shaft. Once inside the base, the spheres transformed and combined into "Reedman", who successfully stole the shard and returned to the surface to reunite with Ravage. As the human soldiers attempted stop Reedman, Ravage provided cover fire, killing several humans in the process. The pair then made their escape.

Having secured the shard, Ravage traveled to the Bayos, a human freighter carrying the Constructicons which was passing the area of the sea in which Megatron was buried. After diving over the side of the barge and reaching the bottom where Megatron's body rested, Ravage ejected the Doctor from a compartment in his chest. While the Constructicons began to tear apart the "little one", Ravage was going for a swim, apparently enjoying the water, but quickly ended his little frolic when the Doctor demanded the shard. After the Doctor resurrected Megatron using the AllSpark shard, Ravage and the Constructicons swam up to the surface following their revived leader.

Some time later, Ravage joined the other Decepticons in searching for Sam Witwicky and the Matrix of Leadership amid some Egyptian ruins. The forces of NEST soon arrived, and battle broke out, complicating their search. Spotting Sam, Starscream instructed Rampage to release Ron and Judy Witwicky. Ravage jumped out of the Constructicon when he ejected the fleshlings, and went stalking. Bumblebee managed to get the jump on Rampage, and Ravage in turn jumped on Bumblebee's head, clawing off part of his battle helmet. Unfortunately for Ravage, Bumblebee still had plenty of fight left in him, and he promptly dispatched the killer kitty by tearing out Ravage's own goo-covered spine. Ouch. Revenge of the Fallen (film)
Months after Ravage's death at the hands of Bumblebee, his reconstructed form was brought back on-line in an undisclosed location by a mysterious new master. Subsequently, Ravage appeared outside Guantanamo Bay, searching for a "new target". Ravage snuck in, found the remains of the appliancebots and appropriated them. Ravage lept into the ocean to escape the military, who had located him.

Ravage emerged on a beach near Air Force Base. Though he curled up on the ground to wait for further instructions from his unknown benefactor, he was once again discovered. Ravage destroyed several helicopters before being surrounded by soldiers and jeeps. To bolster his defensive, he unleashed Reedman, and although the smaller robot was eventually taken down, it provided the distraction needed to allow Ravage to escape into an petrochemical plant.

Deciding the relatively subtle approach wasn't working, officials at the White House asked the President of the United States for permission to level the plant. As the explosion engulfed the plant, Ravage tried to conceal himself beneath its foundation. Ravage's attempt to survive was mostly successful; his damaged form was still online, waiting in a pit beneath the rubble for new instructions. The remnants of the smuggled appliancebots reached out to him with streams of energy... Tales of the Fallen issue 5
Ravage

The Veiled Threat prequel novel

It seems there is a subgroup of anons and others whose primary or only contribution is adding captions to images that don't have any. This might seem harmless enough, but it bugs me nonetheless. If humorous captions are a reward of sorts for hard-working editors, then anons who add nothing else shouldn't be taking away the fodder for that reward.

To that end, I'd propose to all image-adding editors that if you have nothing "funny" to say, then say something informative. An informative caption doesn't have to be "this picture is a picture that is of Megatron"; it can state that this is "The box art painting of Megatron from his original 1984 Generation 1 toy". Maybe it's a little vengeful of me, but I'd rather see that as a placeholder till a regular contributor adds something genuinely worthwhile, instead of whatever some random anon thinks up in five seconds because they're convinced that this gaping void must be filled. -- Repowers 18:55, 19 June 2008 (UTC)
:So if you change a caption, you're ruining someone else's "reward" for adding information, and if you're doing nothing but adding jokes, than you're not contributing anything worthwhile that furthers the wiki's actual purpose. Humor is secondary. --Jeysie 05:57, 14 March 2009 (EDT)
::Thanks for the reply. I appreciate that someone changing another's caption is infringing on a "perk", but I don't think this is a perk. The perk is getting your text on the wiki and providing quality information. And secondly, if you can provide a funnier joke (and so far I can't), then why not? Everyone benefits. --Grimlockius Prime 14:22, 14 March 2009 (EDT)
:::Since theoretically anybody can get their writing on the wiki (and assuming it's quality, it stays there), that's not really a perk. I see it as work. --FFN 15:32, 14 March 2009 (EDT)

He's got a case of nerves that could very well cause Red Alert to fear for his job security, and when startled he tends to SHOOT SHOOT SHOOT FIRE FIRE BANG BANG BANG KILL KILL KILL IT DEAD DEAD DEAD without stopping to aim or analyze the threat, and doesn't quit until he's shot down or runs out of heat-ray charges. Strafe was part of Fortress Maximus's group of Autobots on Cybertron. Ring of Hate! When Fortress Maximus decided to leave the war and head to Nebulos, Strafe and the other Technobots agreed to follow him on his quest for peace, which would have done the high-strung fellow a world of good. Alas, the Decepticons followed the Autobots to Nebulos and brought the war with them. Broken Glass! In the Nebulan resort city of Splendora, Strafe and the Technobots fought Abominus as the combined Computron. Love and Steel! Though Abominus (and its component Terrorcons were defeated, Splendora lay in ruins. The Autobots and Decepticons ultimately left Nebulos for Earth. Brothers in Armor!!

Strafe fell bravely (and rather instantly) in the defense of Buenos Aires against the Underbase-powered Starscream. Dark Star (issue)

Marvel UK future timelines
In 2008, Strafe and several Autobots under the command of Ultra Magnus responded to a mysterious call for help on Cybertron. Astonishingly, the call came from the Decepticons. Even more astonishing, it was genuine. Strafe and the Autobots joined forces with their Decepticon counterparts in driving a marauding crew of Quintessons off the planet. Space Pirates!

After Time Wars rebooted future history, Strafe was next seen stationed at Autobot City in 2009. When the Autobot shuttle from Cybertron crashed down instead of landing safely, Strafe flew out to help alongside Blaster, Perceptor and Afterburner. Shadow of Evil What they found was Autobot commander Rodimus Prime, aglow with evil and possessed by the living malice of Unicron that had infected the Matrix a year earlier. Strafe was apparently killed in the resulting conflict before Rodimus regained control of his actions. White Fire

In another future, the last Decepticon was destroyed by Springer and the Wreckers in 2510. However, the Autobots soon came to blows over a misunderstanding, and war broke out again almost as soon as it ended. Strafe and the Technobots formed a new faction under Ultra Magnus against the Wreckers. Peace
Strafe was created, like the other Technobots, by the temporarily super-intelligent Grimlock. Grimlock's New Brain Less than a week later, he and the other Technobots were sent to Earth to learn how to interact with humans, where they encountered the unscrupulous trader Dirk Manus and his business partners, the Quintessons. Money Is Everything

Along with the other Technobots, Strafe attempted to drive away the Terrorcons away from Dr. Morgan's lab, but was unsuccessful in preventing them from retrieving a heat-resistant alloy. The Return of Optimus Prime, Part 1

Strafe was at Autobot City with his fellow Technobots and the Throttlebots, talking about what a glorious day it was, and about how every day had been a glorious one ever since they ended the threat of the Decepticons once and for all, and the days would continue to be glorious as long as... okay, you know what's coming. The Rebirth, Part 1
Different robots have different skills and weaknesses. Space Cases skills consist mainly of going very, very fast, thanks to his plasma-powered engines. It's a good thing too, because his weaknesses mainly consist of being dumber than a fence post. The truth is he's so dumb he should almost certainly have been killed in combat by now; only raw speed and dumb luck have kept him alive this long.
Japanese G2 mini-comics and story pages
Space Case was once good friends with the Autobot Cyberjets back when they were Decepticons. However, when they defected to the enemy, Space Case and the remaining Decepticon Cyberjets swore vengeance. G-2 (story page)

During one of the Generation 2 battles, Jolt chased the low-flying Space Case near a cliffside. Space Case feigned terror as Jolt made snarky comments at the Cyberjet's imminent destruction. Space Case then pulled up at the last second, his great speed rescuing him from certain death. Jolt, surprised, was then shot in the back repeatedly by Space Case, who had planned the attack out all along. G-2 (pack-in comic)

Space Case and the other Cyberjets then joined with Jolt and Sizzle, encircling the Autobot Laser Rods. Unfortunately, Road Rocket was able to blind them with a smokescreen, allowing for their enemy's escape. G-2 (pack-in comic)

Eventually, Megatron led an all-out assault on the Autobot base. Space Case joined in the battle, but when Megatron was defeated by Optimus Prime, he and all the Decepticons were driven into deep space. G-2 (story page)
Comics Bom Bom G2 manga
In the year 199X, the Decepticons came to Earth intent on plundering its forestonite, a newly discovered super energy source. The Decepticon Cyberjets made their presence known at the Japanese Self-Defense Force airshow, where they began wreaking havoc, attacking humans for the sheer heck of it. Junpei attempted to stop Space Case by heroically throwing a pebble at him. This ticked Space Case off, but before he could slaughter the little Japanese kid, Electro came to the rescue.

Electro was terribly out-numbered, as all three Decepticon Cyberjets made short work of him. After blowing up a Self-Defence Force tank, Space Case prepared to deliver the killing blow to the wounded Electro. Before he could defeat his enemy, Optimus Prime arrived on the scene and shot Space Case in the head, apparently killing him. The New Battle!!
: Space Case transforms into a white fighter jet which is a conglomerate of various cutting-edge fighter features, including antihedral (drooped), forward-swept wings, two-dimensional thrust-vectoring nozzles from an F-22, and a nearly flat, V-style tailplane similar to the YF-23 prototype. The end result resembles the Sukhoi Su-47 Berkut fighter. It is painted with a blue grid pattern and red electrified bird on the upper side of the plane. Unique among the Cyberjets, Space Case's missile launcher is on the ventral side of his vehicle mode, and instead of becoming a substitute right hand for the robot mode, the launcher is attached to his right forearm .
This version saw Space Case in a grey and maroon deco with blue and yellow tampographs. Since there was no supporting fiction, the possibility exists that this is an entirely new character named Space Case or an alternate universe version of the original, but for the sake of simplicity, it's assumed he's the same guy as before.
He’s a gung-ho warrior but is only really evil because the other Predacons tell him he is. Sling speaks in a high-pitched cackle, which often times irritates his fellow soldiers. He’s not the most popular Predacon.
10:32, 24 April 2009 (EDT)
Spy Streak doesn't have much of a personality, but he certainly is tenacious. "Retreat" is a term he is unfamiliar with. Specialized armor, flying skill and a powerful armament assures he is able to hold his own in most fights he finds himself in.

To be fair, he has no hands, just a missile launcher and a giant clamp. His career options were pretty limited.

Universe: The Wreckers
Spy Streak was a Vehicon general created by Megatron to help establish air superiority in the fight against the ever-growing number of Maximals, Wreckers, and other insurgents on Cybertron.

Megatron sent Spy Streak and his stealth drones to fight alongside Mirage, Scavenger, Blastcharge, and Quake Vehicon drones to guard an old Autobot shuttle from the Wreckers, who wished to use it to get offworld. Spy Streak's drones proved to be inferior to the Decepticons Cyclonus and Skywarp and the Predacon Rotorbolt, and the Wreckers soon had control of the sky.

As the battle drew to a close and the Wreckers boarded the shuttle, Spy Streak was pinned under some debris after a shot from Arcee. He could only look on in horror and disbelief as the shuttle blasted off, and the complex was consumed by a gigantic explosion from a bomb left by Cyclonus. Spy Streak was presumably destroyed in the blast. Departure
As Spy Streak was released in the "Battle for the Spark" portion of the Beast Machines toyline, his spark crystal and its housing are used to activate his nosecone-claw gimmick. In jet mode, this gimmick is linked up to his twin missile launcher, firing the missiles as the claw opens.
Thomas James Kenny (born July 13th, 1962) is an American voice actor, actor and stand-up comedian. From the stand-up side, he is known for his Comedy Central special as well as his prominent role on Mr. Show. On the voice-acting side, he is best recognized as the titular character from Spongebob Squarepants. However, we can forgive him for that, because he's also The Penguin from The Batman, The Amazing Mumbo from Teen Titans, Gibson from Super Robot Monkey Team Hyper Force Go, Jake from My Gym Partner is a Monkey, Raimundo from Xiaolin Showdown, Heifer Wolfe from Rocko's Modern Life, the mayor and narrator from the Powerpuff Girls, and... jeez, just about everything that's been on Cartoon Network in the past five years. As an on-camera actor, he has played Patchy The Pirate on segments of Spongebob Squarepants, and very early on in his career, he played the villainous Binky The Clown in Bobcat Goldthwait's cult comedy Shakes The Clown.
Beachcomber has a hard time reconciling his love of peace and freedom for all creatures with the need to combat those who threaten it. Furthermore, however just the cause for which it was fought, the gruesome and destructive aftermath of any battle sickens him to the spark.

Sometimes, when the internal struggle gets too heavy, he simply has to wander into the wilderness and cleanse his soul. Even there, far from civilization, he sometimes finds strange substances to aid the Autobot cause, for Beachcomber is a skilled naturalist, and geology is his specialty, man. He often tries to preserve or even to hide these discoveries, but he has seen too much evil done by the ruthless Decepticons to conceal any possible source of aid completely from his allies.

Beachcomber's geology tools include a wide array of sensors (magnetic, seismic, sonic, infrared) and a 'sonic pick' which can cut through rock. Beachcomber can use his magnetic sensors to navigate like a compass, but local magnetic disturbances can cause this to lead him astray. His sonic probes possess only limited range.

Beachcomber is neither very fast nor very strong, and his antiwar sentiments gain him little respect from the more martial of the Autobots, yet he is agile and skilled in a fight, and his courage is beyond all reproach.
Beachcomber showed up out of nowhere one day, helping Hound, Inferno and Bumblebee investigate some Insecticon attacks on an old growth forest. This unit proved to be sufficiently under-powered when it came to confronting freshly fed Insecticons, and their battle strategy amounted to hiding behind Hound's holograms until the bad robots went away. The Insecticon Syndrome He was next seen on Dinobot Island, worrying that the battle with the Decepticons would destroy the environment before it could be properly studied, but at least he was still fighting while complaining. Dinobot Island, Part 2 Megatron's Master Plan, Part 1 Megatron's Master Plan, Part 2

Unlike the next time. On a geology expedition with Perceptor and several other Autobots, Beachcomber abandoned them in the middle of a firefight to explore a cave in the nearby cliffside. While his friends were dodging laser fire and trading blows, Beachcomber was learning to speak parakeet and communing with nature. He also found a golden lagoon full of electrum, a naturally-occurring element which would make any Transformer impervious to harm. He dipped his hand into the lagoon, and it turned completely gold in color. Beachcomber hid this information from his fellow Autobots, and even kept his silence after Thrust arrived coated in electrum and drove the Autobots into retreat, capturing two of their number in the process. Valuing the scenic beauty surrounding the electrum pool, Beachcomber still refused to warn his comrades after the entire Decepticon army arrived coated with invincible golden armor. He went solo to check on the lagoon, and was captured by the Decepticons. Some of the dumber Seekers acted as his prison guards at the Decepticon sunken base, though, and Beachcomber managed to escape alongside his fellow prisoners Perceptor and Seaspray.

Reaching the electrum pool, the trio was met by Optimus Prime and the rest of the Autobots, who had independently uncovered the pool's location thanks to Powerglide. Realizing his golden hand would give him away, Beachcomber quickly dove into the electrum to disguise his prior knowledge of the substance. In the final battle with the Decepticons, Megatron ordered the electrum pool destroyed rather than sharing it with the Autobots. In the aftermath of the explosion, the wilderness was totally decimated. Beachcomber never told the Autobots that he had known about the Decepticons' secret weapon and had kept silent, and instead sat around mourning the loss of the grass and trees.

Beachcomber is kinda a selfish dick, honestly. The Golden Lagoon

Beachcomber briefly maintained a position at the Autobots' New York City base inside Sparkplug's garage. Make Tracks He was also seen attending Teletraan I when the Autobots were engaged with the Insecticons and Morphobots. Quest for Survival Beachcomber was next seen protecting San Francisco from an alien bird-dragon unleashed on Earth by the Constructicons. He tried appealing to the creature, thinking that we're all one with the same universe. Yeah... that didn't work well. The Secret of Omega Supreme When the energy creature called Kremzeek assaulted the Ark, Beachcomber was one of the first Autobots short-circuited by the little creep. Kremzeek!

Beachcomber was later kidnapped by a greedy toll booth and forced to drive in a circle while hopping over spike-traps. It might make more sense if we explained it better, but it would be nowhere near as funny. Prime Target

Next, after Megatron kidnapped Perceptor and then voluntarily let him go, Beachcomber joined the entire Autobot team in riding out a few miles from the base to retrieve their friend. Why several dozen Autobots were needed for such a simple mission...is unknown. Cosmic Rust (episode)

In 2006, Beachcomber was stationed at the Ark with Warpath, Pipes and several others when Trypticon came to destroy it. Their feeble efforts to defend the spacecraft were barely noted by the dinosaur robot. Five Faces of Darkness, Part 5
noteukonly

Beachcomber was a member of Perceptor's resistance cell on Cybertron who disobeyed orders along with most of the cell to help Blaster recover Scrounge from the smelting pool. He actually demonstrated some uncharacteristic strength and gusto, tearing down a laser sentinel tower with his bare hands. The rescue mission failed, but they did recover Scrounge's stolen data, and learned that Optimus Prime and the crew of the Ark were alive and fighting on Earth. The Smelting Pool!

Soon after, Perceptor's crew began a mission to destroy the Space Bridge before the Decepticons on Earth and Cybertron could begin trading resources. Beachcomber used his geological skills to map out a safe path underneath the planet's surface to bomb the underlying support structures of Darkmount, bringing down Straxus's whole fortress. The unit failed to destroy the Space Bridge, however, and were ultimately forced to retreat across the Bridge to Earth. The Bridge to Nowhere!

Beachcomber and his fellows were taken captive by RAAT and their commanding officer, the robot-hater Circuit Breaker, and their heads were mounted on the wall of their headquarters. Aerialbots over America! Circuit Breaker showed footage of their defeat to fellow RAAT operative Walter Barnett. Meanwhile, Skids and the shifty human Donny Finkleberg were sent on a mission to determine their whereabouts, but Finkleberg sold out Skids to RAAT as well. Heavy Traffic! Ultimately, Finkleberg redeemed himself by forcing the captured Autobots' release as part of a deal. If the combined bodies of Beachcomber and the other captives could successfully aid in the defeat of the vandalizing Battlechargers, they would be set free. And so it was. Beachcomber and the others headed home, directed by Skids, when the time-traveling Galvatron took their guide's place. Galvatron tore his way through the group, one by one, with Beachcomber one of his casualties. Resurrection!

Beachcomber managed to avoid virtually all kinds of fighting for the rest of his time on Earth, doing nothing more strenuous than getting shot at by the Ark's own defense systems. Funeral for a Friend! While he did champion Blaster for replacing Grimlock as the Autobots' commander, this didn't stop Beachcomber from whining about senseless violence throughout their duel on the moon. Luckily, a Decepticon strike force arrived to drown out his voice with some lasers and explosives. Totaled!

When the Autobots rescued Buster Witwicky from the Arctic and were ambushed by the Decepticons, Beachcomber was among the first to be attacked, set upon and mauled by Mindwipe. Dark Star (issue)

Presumably, this rendered him non-functional, as Beachcomber was last seen laying deactivated aboard The Ark as Ratchet attempted to repair him. Deathbringer (issue)

Marvel UK future timelines
When the Quintessons raided Autobot City in 2008, Beachcomber and Air Raid rushed to defend their home with a team of fellow Autobots. Unfortunately, the Quintesson shock troops were too much for them, and quickly overran the defenders. Beachcomber and his Aerialbot buddy made a run for back-up, but were jumped from behind and taken out with the rest. Space Pirates!

Find Your Fate Junior
Beachcomber had to find a path to the surface from the cave system the Autobots were trapped in. He explored the system of underground lakes, marveling at the many strange things that lived there. While recharging the Sun-Pak on the surface, he was attacked by Kickback, and had to be saved by Sparkplug. How humiliating. Attack of the Insecticons

In the 'unsuccessful' ending to this multipath adventure, Beachcomber became lost when his magnetic sensors erroneously led him directly to Megatron. He did not regret this error for long.

Beachcomber discovered Rumble practicing his earthquakes near a concealed base and learned of a Decepticon plan to destroy nearby Center City.

Optimus Prime decided that such grave news required a pinpoint response with utmost secrecy... so he sent the recklessly impulsive Windcharger, the bombastic Powerglide, and Beachcomber to babysit the other two. Earthquake (book)
Beachcomber was spurred into action against Shockwave's regime on Cybertron when Optimus Prime returned to the planet and rallied the Autobots into action. His actual contribution to the insurrection is undocumented, but it's entirely possible he may have even picked up a weapon. Really. Countdown to Extinction (issue)

Afterwards, Beachcomber was assigned to a mission suitable for his pacifism, as part of Bumblebee's supply crew on the Orion, bringing news and fuel to their comrades on Earth. Night of the Combaticons Little did they know they would be caught up in heavy combat with Sunstorm. Beachcomber was supposed to be guarding Sunstorm's primary target, the Decepticon Starscream, in an Alaskan bunker. Now, of course, the question isn't whether Starscream betrayed them at the first opportunity; it's whether Beachcomber even bothered to pick up his gun and try to stop Starscream, or just passively let the 'Con gun him down. The Omega Effect

IDW comics continuity
Beachcomber was first seen in the early days of the war with Brawn and Cosmos, meeting the damaged Jazz and Tracks when their transport ship returned to HQ. Spotlight: Jazz

Later, Beachcomber was captured by Soundwave, who used Bombshell to slip him the brown acid. Under its control, Beachcomber attempted on three occasions to assassinate Blaster. Ultimately, Blaster confronted him about it and forced him to fight against his Decepticon control. Though his mental resistance shorted out the shell, his neural processors were severely damaged as well.

Beachcomber was last seen in stasis in a C.R. chamber. Whether or not he is functional enough to experience flashbacks is unknown. Spotlight: Blaster
The figure came in several variants, one with "Hasbro" stamped across the left arm (removing half the "mesh" pattern), and one without (leaving the full mesh there).
: Generation 2 Beachcomber uses the exact same mold as his Generation 1 counterpart. However, this time around, the blue was replaced with a chrome green and the grey of the upper legs and lamps was replaced with neon red. This version removed the "half-mesh" on the left arm and simply replaced it with a large Hasbro copyright stamp.

: A rare variant exists that may have been a testshot run with grey legs. These figures were apparently given out internally by Hasbro as Christmas ornaments, as they have been found bagged with a string attached and a card reading "Transformers Christmas ornament" on one side and "Merry Christmas from the Boys' Toys Marketing" on the other.
Fiction
Marvel Comics UK continuity
Millions of years ago, Flame was a member of the Iacon Academy of Science and Technology on Cybertron. Flame proposed adapting Megatron's plan—turning Cybertron into a mobile war world—so that it would instead become a mobile spaceship for exploration. Emirate Xaaron spoke out against the plan, as the fusion reactor required would be highly dangerous.

Flame was removed from the academy and denied funds to continue his research. However, he embezzled money from the academy and continued his research in an old lab in the city of Kalis.

One day he was careless and the lab was destroyed in an explosion. The Autobots thought Flame was dead, but in reality he had survived and discovered that the explosion uncovered the entrance to the experimental engines that Megatron had built.

Flame took advantage of the accident, allowing the world to believe him dead while he secretly pursued his goal. He worked on repairing the engines for millions of years, striving for the day that he would prove himself to have been right all along. That day came into sight in the year 1988, when he finally began to activate the massive systems. But venting the fusion reactor ignited a subterranean gas pocket and destroyed a portion of Kalis.

While this did not disrupt his operations, it did draw attention, so he activated his defense plan: Using the Decepticon engine-control computer (with modifications), he broadcast a signal by which he could reanimate any corpses within an area that seemed to correspond to the city limits. This quickly turned Kalis into a "zombie"-infested wasteland where neither Autobots nor Decepticons dared tread.

As it happened, the headquarters of the Autobot resistance movement had recently been moved to a new Autobase in Kalis. So Flame's old rival Xaaron was there when the reactor-venting explosion and subsequent zombie assault occurred. This was another happy accident for Flame, who gloated in taking Xaaron and the Wreckers prisoner so they could witness firsthand the fulfillment of his plan. Legion of the Lost!

Xaaron, of course, was no less averse to Flame's risky venture than he had been millions of years earlier. Xaaron managed to escape from his cell and attack Flame, but the latter's firetank mode sent him running. Xaaron even considered converting to his own "combat mode" despite his fear that doing so might kill him, as it had been so very long since he had done it before. But in the end, Xaaron was able to distract Flame out of his murderous rage by pointing out that the reactor was nearing meltdown.

For a moment, it seemed that Flame would listen to reason, but when the two were actually in the control room about to shut the reactor down, his jealousy resurfaced, and he refused to let Xaaron stop his plan. The standoff was handily ended by the Wreckers, who had been joined by Ultra Magnus, the Sparkler Mini-Bots, and even the Decepticons Flywheels and Trypticon. Flame summoned his zombies, but it was one of them who proved his undoing: The corpse of the Wreckers' old leader Impactor had, due to contact with his former troops, been acquiring a resistance to Flame's control. As Flame tried once again to kill Xaaron, Impactor sent a spear through Flame's head. Impactor then entered the reactor chamber and shut it off while its lethal radiation destroyed him a second time. The engines still exploded, but the damage to Cybertron was minimal compared to what could have happened if the reactor had blown up as well. Meltdown!

Notes
