Bonecrusher is a Transformer that can be described with one word: Hate. Bonecrusher hates this wiki. Bonecrusher hates the fact that his toy is so small. Bonecrusher even hates amusingly appropriate Avril Lavigne quotes. Basically Bonecrusher hates everything and everyone, particularly buses, and lives for the day when all of creation is crushed and destroyed beneath his feet. If anyone tries to befriend him (with the possible exception of folks from Force Protection, as noted below), he will have nothing to do with them. His overwhelming anger and hatred extends even to his fellow Decepticons, including Megatron himself. Only fear of Megatron keeps him on their side. Plus, he really hates the Autobots.

He transforms into a Buffalo mine clearing vehicle used by the military. It is made exclusively in South Carolina and the drivers routinely use it to drive to the local Taco Bell/Pizza Hut. He hates drivers, the mine clearing vehicle, the drive-thrus, and South Carolina. He loves tacos, however.

Bonecrusher was aboard the crew of the Nemesis, led by Starscream, who were searching for Megatron, who was lost thousands of years ago, along with the AllSpark. He hated the Nemesis, but would hate trying to walk home more. He also hated the AllSpark, but Megatron wanted it, so he decided not to complain. Finally, he also hated Starscream, but all the other Decepticons do as well, making it something he has in common with his fellow Decepticons. He hated that.

He's described as being a terrible shot, but he doesn't really mind, as he much prefers to kill with his bare hands.

Transformers The Game (console)
:Voice actor: Daniel Riordan

:(Note: Bonecrusher only appears in the Decepticon campaign of the game, and as a non-playable character t'boot.)

While hiding in a military base, Bonecrusher came under attack by the humans twice, and required assistance from Starscream to escape. He hates needing help from people, especially from people he hates.

Transformers (2007) film
:Voice actor: Jimmie Wood (English)

Bonecrusher was hiding out in the motor pool of a military base when he received a communique from Starscream ordering the Decepticons to to mobilize and converge on the location of the All Spark. He rendezvoused with Barricade and Devastator, and the three Decepticons headed off together to intercept the Autobots and their human allies who had the All Spark in their possession.

Devastator wandered off somewhere, so Bonecrusher and Barricade continued their pursuit on the freeway. Barricade activated his sirens to clear the traffic and allow them more maneuvering room. Unsatisfied with Barricade's less conspicuous method, and since he hated rush-hour traffic, Bonecrusher used his mine-scoop to flip cars out of his way. (He kinda liked that.)

After Barricade pulled over to the side of the road, Bonecrusher transformed while still moving and skated towards the Autobots. Optimus Prime transformed and slid into position to block his path. Seeing the Autobot he really hated (and that's saying a lot), Bonecrusher smashed through a bus (it irked him), and tackled Optimus Prime, pushing him off an overpass tumbling and falling off the edge, dragging the Autobot leader down with him.

However, Optimus Prime hit Bonecrusher so hard one of the Decepticon's optics popped free from its socket (he liked that eye... well, no, he didn't, he just hated not having it more), and the two played a little cat-and-mouse along the overpasses. This gave Optimus the opportunity he needed to get his sword ready... which the Autobot used to sever Bonecrusher's right arm and stab through the Decepticon's neck, decapitating him. Optimus then wrenched the head from it's neck and discarded it on the ground, he hated that too.

Bonecrusher hates his movie role (and Michael Bay too).
He has six rolling wheels in this mode, and two sculpted, non-functional spare wheels.

: In robot mode he has elements resembling both his 2005 design and the final design used in the movie, though a major deviation to both designs is that the entire front shell halves of the vehicle mode are mounted upon his arms. His arms have limited articulation due to this kibble, but can extend out into really long arms. His legs fare better, with ball jointed hips, swivel knees and ankles, but his hips can often detach from the codpiece holding them together. The mine-fork splits to form a grabber-claw, which can snap onto victims with a geared slider Automorph mechanism.

: He is surprisingly okay with these little tools of death.

Marvel Comics continuity
Seaspray was a member of Perceptor's resistance cell on Cybertron. He was transported to Earth, with some of his comrades,
after the raid on Darkmount.

Later, after the catastrophic Underbase saga, Seaspray was seen aboard the Ark -- still functional, and helping to move damaged Autobots about.

If not an outright art error, this last appearance is still unusual. Though Seaspray was not shown being knocked offline, it is stated that only the partially organic Transformers -- which just so happened to form the bulk of the then-current toyline -- had survived Starscream's attacks. Elsewhere is some implication that everyone else was taken out, whether explicitly shown or not. Regardless, Seaspray was not shown again in the G1 book, and indeed virtually all of the "normal" Transformers disappeared from the book for quite some time after the Underbase saga.

Dreamwave comics continuity
Generation 1
*Seaspray (Mini Vehicle, 1985)
: Japanese ID number: C-64

Seaspray's G1 figure stands three inches tall and is one of the smaller figures of the line. The figure has a simple color scheme consisting of blue arms and feet, a white chest, and yellow legs as well as head and propeller system. The figures only real articulation is at the shoulder. Like all the minibots Seaspray is available in a variety of pack-in variations. He was available with or without a rubsign and with or without a minispy figure. The mold has the Takara copyright stamp on the bottom of the feet portion.

Generation 2
*Seaspray (Mini Vehicle, 1993)

Seaspray's G2 release used the same mold as the G1 release but with the dark blue replaced with a dark blue chrome. It is otherwise identical in mold and color.

A rare variant exists that may have been a testshot run. These figures were apparently given out internally by Hasbro as Christmas ornaments, as they have been found bagged with a string attached and a card reading "Transformers Christmas ornament" on one side and "Merry Christmas from the Boys' Toys Marketing" on the other. The same treatment has been seen with a variant G2 Beachcomber as well.

Trivia
*Seaspray made an appearance in one of five original Generation 1 public service announcements, urging nautical children to wear life-preservers. In this PSA, he was voiced by Ken Sansom rather than Allen Oppenheimer, his usual voice actor.
*A reference to Seaspray is made in the video game based on the Michael Bay film. Various billboards advertise "Seaspray's Fish 'n' Chips".

French term: Techno-Robots

Spanish term: Robots Aparatos

Real Gear Robot is a catchall term for Earth machinery brought to life as Transformers by the All Spark in the movie continuity family. The term originates with the "Real Gear Robots" sub-line of Movie toys, which features Transformers created from real earthen consumer electronics brought to life in this manner and defines itself with the quote given above.

For lack of a better alternative, SITENAME is currently using the same term to refer to the numerous other non-toyline robots created in this manner, which appeared in the film itself and in ancillary materials and promotions. This is not an official or even widespread usage, but they fit the description given above, even if it's hard to consider a car "gear". SITENAME considers this terminology temporary until another term is found or agreed upon.

Toyline
Fiction
Though the Real Gear Robots toys were released (presumably as part of the Hungry Dragon counter-information campaign) to expand on the brief appearance of similar robots in the movie, many Real Gear Robots appear to predate the March 16 2006 cessation of Sector Seven's experiments on the All Spark. It is unclear if they were deliberately created by Sector Seven before this and escaped, or perhaps were an unintended result of the Allspark's "area-effect."

Toys
Autobots
*High Score 100 (video game controller)
*Longview (binoculars)
*Night Beat 7 (MP3 player)
*Speed Dial 800 (cell phone)
*Spy Shot 6 (digital camera)

Decepticons
*Booster X10 (MP3 player)
*Meantime (digital wrist watch)
*Power Up VT6 (portable video-game system)
*Wire Tap V20 (cell phone)
*Zoom Out 25X (video camera)

Living machines
The All Spark cube can emit radiation that spontaneously brings to life machinery and electronics which are exposed to it. It does not do so continuously, but agents working for Sector Seven eventually learned to activate and even channel these pulses of radiation in their base under Hoover Dam. The cube also emitted a pulse when dropped by Sam Witwicky as he fled from Decepticons in Mission City.

Transformers which have just been created from Earth machines by the All Spark appear to be almost mindless; alive but without concept of the world-- and often feral. Judging from what we know about some of these robots (see "Toyline" section above) it appears that they can have full sentience. It is unknown what causes this difference. (See "Personalities", below.)

Known Real Gear Robots
* AX9-8946-09SU-1
* "Samuraï" Nokia cellphone
* Xbox 360
* Mountain Dew vending machine (a different individual than Dewbot)
* Steering wheel face-hugger

Possible Real Gear Robots
These Transformers seem to be likely candidates, but their actual origins remain unknown:
* Dewbot
* Chevy Autobots
* Toaster

Not Real Gear Robots
Sometimes thought to be Earth-born, the following Transformers are known to have alien origins (the drones arrive on Earth in "cometary" transition form), and therefore were not animated by the All Spark on Earth:
* Longarm
* Dropkick
* Dreadwing
* Swindle
* Mixmaster
* Payload
* Scrapper

Personalities
All the Real Gear Robots in the 2007 film appear to be evil little beasts. Screenwriter Roberto Orci has offered some potential explanations for this both at BotCon 2007 and on the official movie forum, but as usual is careful not to make any declarations. Orci wrote in response to one fan's query, "It is meant to power Cybertron, not adapt human technology. Also, since all earth's tech is reverse engineered from Megatron, maybe that affects the outcome, too." He also wrote, "Prime intended to use the Allspark to repower Cybertron as it was intended. Megatron wants to abuse it by creating Transformers directly, which makes souless, primal Transformers."

Both of these statements contain plausible explanations for the violence and hostility observed in the bahavior of the robots in the film itself, but they do not make allowances for the fully-developed personas observed in the Real Gear Robots toyline and other supporting material. A possible solution is that these may take place in different continuities than the film itself, such that the All Spark may operate a bit differently. Alternatively, it could be that -- given enough time -- an Earth machine animated by the All Spark might eventually develop consciousness. Or, perhaps not all robots are created equal. It could simply be that, while most are feral, some are not.

Trivia
*The Real Gear Robots toyline is the long-in-coming return of "mechanical device" transformers along the lines of the original Perceptor and Reflector, whose alt modes are all common hand-held electric devices.

*The Real Gear Robots toys were created at Hasbro in line with the designs of the Cybertron franchise that ran through 2005 into the first half of 2006. Their release was held back, and this resulted in serendipity with the Movie marketing blitz, since cell phones and other electronic devices become Transformers in the film.
