===Kiss Players Position===

In the year 2006 or 2007, the Sparkbots suddenly appeared in the sky before the "[[Kiss Players]]" singing group at the [[Fortress Maximus|Brave Maximus]] Fortress concert of their world tour. They introduced themselves to the performers telepathically and insisted that the three humans in the group kiss them.

[[Image:SparkbotsTrio.jpg|left|thumb|Making this series took a lot of...no, we can't do it.]]When [[Atari Hitotonari]], [[Shao-Shao Li]] and [[Marissa Faireborn]] complied, they were engulfed by a bright light and the entire fortress was transported back to the [[Sherman Dam]] in the year 1985. The [[Autobot]] commander [[Optimus Prime (G1)|Optimus Prime]] was there, but could not see the time travellers as they observed him.

[[Image:TGGSparkbots.jpg|right|thumb|150px|The truth revealed! Those little potty-mouths.]]The Sparkbot Angela commanded Marissa to kiss her and the glowing pink sphere transformed into a lion. Flying close to Prime with Marissa on her back, she told the human to kiss the Autobot. When she did, a fragment of the [[Allspark]] emerged from his chest. As the travellers retrieved it, Angela ordered their return to the present day.

The Sparkbots continued to lead the Kiss Players from one point in time and space to the next. At each destination, they encountered a famous Autobot or [[Maximal]] leader and kissed him to extract a fragment of the Allspark.

Following a perilous adventure on the planet [[Quintessa]], the Kiss Players decided to decorate their new friends with symbols of their own devising. The Sparkbots' only response was to make grinding noises, leaving the girls undecided as to whether or not they approved.

As the team came closer to reaching their goal, a mysterious giant golden hand started appearing from nowhere and taking the Allspark fragments before the Kiss Players and Sparkbots could collect them.

When the hand was discovered to belong to [[Primus]] himself, the true purpose and allegiance of the Sparkbots was at last revealed: they were agents of evil, and what the Kiss Players had been collecting were not fragments of the Allspark at all, but [[Angolmois]] energy, the life force of [[Unicron]]! In fact, it had been the Sparkbots who redirected [[Galvatron (G1)|Galvatron's]] path toward Earth when he was originally fated to crash on [[Thrull]], thus causing the destruction of [[Tokyo]] and all of the events that resulted from that catastrophe.

Fleeing back in time to prehistoric Earth with their precious prize, the Sparkbots released the Angolmois energy that they had collected. Unicron was reborn!

In a mighty struggle, Primus succeeded in destroying Unicron once more, confining both his dark energy and the Sparkbots beneath the surface of the planet and creating a mighty [[Fortress Maximus (RID)|guardian]] to watch over them. The Sparkbots were never heard from again... unless they ended up becoming the [[Blentron]]s or something.

''Chokon Power is a form of energy from the [[Masterforce]] portion of the [[Generation 1]] continuity.''

[[Image:Chokonpower.jpg|right|thumb|[[Ginrai]] summons Chokon Power]]The mysterious '''Chokon Power''' (from the Japanese, ''chokon'', translating as "super-soul") manifests in three forms:

*'''Chichokon'''
:The power of the Earth, from the Japanese, ''chi'', meaning "Earth." It is characterized by the [[Decepticon]] [[Pretender]] [[Blood]] as "the ultimate energy that grants existence to the life on the surface of the Earth."

*'''Jinchokon'''
:The power of human, from the Japanese, ''jin'', meaning "human." Blood describes it as "the ultimate energy that gives humans the strength to keep on living."

*'''Tenchokon'''
:The power of the heavens, from the Japanese, ''ten'', meaning "heaven." Blood classifies it as "the ultimate energy of the growing universe."

[[Image:Tenchokon.jpg|left|thumb|[[Hydra and Buster|Buster]] fires a blast of Tenchokon Power]]These three different aspects - Earth, the heavens and human - are denoted by some Eastern religions as the three core aspects of life, hence Chokon Power (also referred to as '''Ten-Chi-Jin Power''') is effectively the primal energy of life itself. While individual beings can learn to manipulate the energy for their own ends, it is a difficult task to accomplish - aside from the warrior [[Sixknight]], who professed to derive his strength from Tenchokon, no other ordinary Transformers displayed the ability. Through the machinations of the alien entity [[Devil Z]], however, the lifeforms known as the [[Godmasters]] were given the inherent ability to manipulate all three forms of Chokon Power, making them one of the most powerful types of super-robotic lifeform in existence.

[[Image:Chokonpunch.jpg|right|thumb|Ginrai wails on [[Hydra and Buster|Hydra]] with Chokon-charged punches]]

The Godmaster [[Transtector]]s originally resided in a region of space known as [[G Nebula 89]], which was rich in Tenchokon, suffusing the Transtectors with it. Devil Z subsequently stole the mechanoids and hid them on Earth, where, over the years, they absorbed the planet's inherent Chichokon. With two of the three Chokon Powers now filling them, the final step in Devil Z's plan for the Transtectors was to bond a human being to them, thereby adding Jinchokon - inherent in all humans by its very nature - to the equation and giving the resultant Godmasters lifeform power over all three aspects of Chokon Power.

The effects of Chokon Power vary. Most commonly, it is simply channelled from its source - down from the sky, up out of the ground, or from within the Godmaster - into the Godmaster's fist, which can then either deliver a powerful, charged punch, or release the energy by firing it as an offensive blast. At other times, it is projected in waves from the Godmaster's body, or can be channelled into their weapons for enhanced firepower. The only type known to have an effect specific to itself is Chichokon, which gives Godmasters the power to control the Earth beneath them, levitating and energizing rocks and dirt that can be hurled at opponents.

[[Image:Chokoncharge.jpg|left|thumb|Super Ginrai charges his gun with Chokon Power]][[Headmaster Junior]]s also possess some small measure of Chokon Power, although this may simply be the Jinchokon that exists inherently within them as humans, "activated" when they received the Masterforce. They cannot use this energy offensively; instead, it serves to automatically enhance their strength, reflexes and agility. Additionally, when [[Cab]], [[Shuta]] and [[Minerva]] all placed their hands on the control panel of [[Godbomber]], their Chokon Power added together was enough to equal that of Ginrai's, and activated the drone for battle. The trio were later able to share their Chokon Power again, adding it to Ginrai's in order to super-charge him for his final battle with Devil Z.

Realizing the incredible potential for Jinchokon that existed within all human beings - perhaps after seeing how truly powerful Godmasters could be - Devil Z determined to eradicate the species to remove that threat, and summarily purged the human beings from his Decepticon army, bringing the Transtectors to life as true robots. Consequently, however, the Transtectors' lack of a human component meant that they no longer possessed Jinchokon - for [[Hydra and Buster]], at least, Devil Z substitued his own [[Devil Power]] as a replacement, but this proved unable to stand against Ginrai's might. Logically, the subsequent separation of the Autobot Godmasters from their human components also left them without Jinchokon.

'''Inferno''' wholeheartedly believes that he is an ant and that [[Megatron (BW)|Megatron]] is his queen. Unlike many Predacons, he has no personal ambitions or future plans; everything he does is for the good of the colony and his queen. Luckily for Inferno, many of the tasks his queen assigns him involve burning things - and he ''likes'' burning things.

Keeping with his ant mentality, Inferno has absolutely no regard for his own personal safety whatsoever. He is fanatically loyal to Megatron, and as such will use his heavy firepower and incredible strength full-on and take any task given of him, no matter how suicidal. And he'll do it laughing maniacally the entire time, for the glory of the colony.
When Inferno's [[stasis pod]] crashed to prehistoric [[Earth]], [[Tarantulas]] and [[Blackarachnia]] immediately set out to claim him as their own. Unfortunately, Inferno had been awakened automatically, having scanned the form of a fire ant. Moreover, his beast mode came to overwhelm his logic circuits, causing Inferno to become wholly convinced that he was an actual fire ant and that his stasis pod was his "colony". [[Airazor (BW)|Airazor]] arrived at the scene and was immediately attacked by Inferno and Blackarachnia. During the fight Tarantulas escaped with the stasis pod, which was his real goal, and an enraged Inferno followed. Pursuing the Predacons, [[Tigatron]] was able to destroy the stasis pod before Tarantulas was able to get it to his lab. This act put Inferno completely over the edge and he went even crazier (if possible). Before he could finish Tigatron off however, [[Optimus Primal|Optimus]] and [[Airazor (BW)|Airazor]] showed up and blew him to bits.

[[Image:Inferno dies agenda2.jpg|right|100px|thumb|Talk about "exit stage right" -- !!]]

However, [[Megatron (BW)|Megatron]] took an immediate shine to the brutish psychopath, proven with the quote "Oooohhh, I ''like'' him.", and had him restored, possibly with some mental improvements, and thereafter Inferno was fanatically loyal to Megatron (thinking of him as his "Queen"). A few death threats changed Inferno's words to calling Megatron "The Royalty", although he occasionally backslid. {{storylink|Spider's Game}} He continued to make references to his ant mentality (for example, calling the Predacon base the colony and Rampage a drone) throughout the series.

In subsequent skirmishes, he killed Tigatron's mate, discovered and recovered the [[Alien Disk]], and was sent to assassinate the treacherous Tarantulas, though the latter ended in temporary defeat while the [[Vok]]'s [[Planet Buster]] ravaged the planet's surface. After the death of [[Scorponok (BW)|Scorponok]], Inferno became the Predacon [[Sub-Commander]]. He was taken as seriously as Scroponok was.

When [[Ravage]] arrived in the Beast Wars and Megatron's troops were scattered, Inferno sacrificed himself by detonating a huge cache of [[Energon]] in a failed attempt to defeat the Maximals. Despite his apparent vaporization, he revived yet again, though with several holes in his chassis.

As the Beast Wars conflict escalated, Inferno's importance and intimidation factor declined. When he was sent (alongside [[Quickstrike (BW)|Quickstrike]] and [[Waspinator]]) to destroy a [[protohuman]] settlement, not only was he beaten severely by the cavemen, he was also accidentally killed when he was caught in the ''[[Nemesis (G1)|Nemesis]]''' firing range.

His head was used thereafter by the protohumans as a drum.
*'''Metals Inferno''' (Mega, 1999)
: ''Japanese ID number:'' '''D-46'''

: Metals Inferno is almost wholly identical to the [[Hasbro]] Mega-Transmetal Predacon [[Scavenger (BW)|Scavenger]], only the name [[tampograph]] was changed from "SCAVENGER" to "DESTRON" with the faction sigil. He transforms into a robotic ant with a third "transport mode", a double-drill tank. The drills end up as his robot-mode hands, and spin using gear-wheels.

==Trivia==
* In a bit of little known trivia, Hasbro originally intended Inferno to be the new body for Megatron. According to [http://groups.google.com/group/alt.toys.transformers/browse_thread/thread/b334d45514e26ab4/bc8e54e9165e0823?hl=en&lnk=st&q=bob+forward+interview+inferno+megatron&rnum=1#bc8e54e9165e0823 a 1997 interview conducted by fan HooksX], Bob Forward stated: "For a while there Hasbro was planning to make the Inferno toy the new Megatron. We were going to kill Megatron and bring him back as Inferno."

* It's unknown as to why Transmetal Scavenger, a toy clearly designed to be an upgraded Inferno, ended up not being Inferno. Maybe Hasbro was just really keen on reclaiming the "Scavenger" [[trademark]]. Another theory is that since there were ant colonies of Inferno clogging store shelves (as Inferno had been shipped in a solid case), retailers wouldn't want even more Infernos, so Hasbro had the name changed. Ironically, colonies of Scavengers also formed, as the Transmetal was also shipped in a solid case.

* No one knows exactly ''how'' Inferno's beast mode mentality became so dominant; his stasis pod was perfectly intact upon landing, thus ruling out any problems due to damaged circuitry, and Tarantulas' other attempts at reprogramming Maximals caused no such glitch in personality. Perhaps soldier ants simply have such strong instincts that they couldn't be resisted, or perhaps Tarantulas did something different this time around, or perhaps... whatever. A [[Beorht|wizard]] probably did it. Or the [[Unicron Singularity]].

* The general life of an ant drone is to eat, defend the colony and... mate with its queen, when "the time comes" (like finding a new base). Whether Megatron agrees to that is another thing. ''Prrrrrrrrrrrrobably'' not.

*Inferno quite clearly gets utterly vaporized in an Energon explosion at the end of Season 2. This is likely because at the time of the episode's production, it wasn't known if Beast Wars would be renewed for a third season. Once they were, Inferno is brought back, looking charred but more or less completely intact.
:''Sixshot is a [[Decepticon]] six-changer in the [[Generation 1]] continuity family.

[[Image:MTMTESixShot.jpg|right|thumb|300px|It's his fault Daniel didn't die sooner. But we try not to hold it against him...it's hard, though.]]

'''Sixshot''' is murderous and ferociously intense in his dedication to his mission. Just about the only redeeming quality found in Sixshot, from an Autobot point-of-view, is his respect for those he's destroyed and sent before him to the "Great junkyard in the sky." Sixshot feels life is only worth living as long as there are enemies to pit himself against. Thankfully, his six forms and his function as a S.T.A.G. (Solo Transformer Assault Group) give him plenty of opportunities for combat.

''Italian Name: '''Iperbot/Hyperbot''' ''<br>

==Fiction==
===Animated continuity===
===="The Rebirth" (USA)====
:''Voice actor:'' [[Neil Ross]] (US), [[Eiji Yanagisawa]] (Japan)

Sixshot didn't do very much in ''The Rebirth'' except transform six times at [[Galvatron (G1)|Galvatron]]'s command. He used all 6 of his modes to effortlessly take-down each individual member of the [[Aerialbot (G1)|Aerialbots]].

Unlike in the Japanese fiction, when Sixshot transforms to his laser pistol mode, he shrinks down to a size small-enough for [[Cyclonus (G1)|Cyclonus]] to fire him.

====''Headmasters'' (Japan)====
:''Voice actor:'' [[Michihiro Ikemizu]] (Japan)

Sixshot debuted with the function of "[[Trypticon|Decepticon City]] Ninja Commander". In this respect, he was something of an arch-enemy to [[Ultra Magnus (G1)|Ultra Magnus]]. Sixshot was immensely powerful and soon usurped [[Cyclonus (G1)|Cyclonus]] and [[Scourge (G1)|Scourge]] as Galvatron's bestest fwend. Sixshot had a long, bloody history of being a scoundrel and a killer. Millions of years prior to his becoming Decepticon City Commander, Sixshot traveled to the planet [[Master]] and tried to rip-off a mining operation. One of the miners, [[Abel]], stood up to him and Sixshot brutally murdered him. Abel happened to be a good friend of [[Chromedome|Chromedome's]], however, this was before he underwent the [[Headmaster]] process and was too weak to stop Sixshot.

Sixshot would continue to plague Chromedome, as he later killed Chromedome's buddy, [[Jackal]], and even went so far as to gun-down Ultra Magnus with his secret seventh-mode, '''Wingwolf'''.

Sixshot was never well-liked by [[Scorponok (G1)|Scorponok]], and once Galvatron was out of the picture, Scorponok did his best to do away with Sixshot. After being deserted by Scorponok and the other Decepticons, Sixshot found himself stranded on a strange planet with [[Daniel Witwicky|Daniel]]. Sixshot revealed a softer side to Daniel and helped protect the young boy from the killer monsters inhabiting the planet.

Sixshot later left the Decepticons and helped take them down in the final battle on Earth. He said his goodbyes to Daniel, however, he did not immediately leave Earth like all the other Transformers.

====''Headmasters'' manga (Japan)====
After the defeat of [[Scorponok (G1)|Mega Zarak]], when all the other Decepticons were driven from the planet, Sixshot chose to blaze a new path in his life. Sixshot's next goal was to travel the galaxy and become the greatest warrior in the Universe, learning new transformations from various creatures. His first task was to stay on Earth and learn how to transform into a human being.

===Marvel Comics continuity===
[[Image:Sixshotg1marvel.jpg|right|100px|thumb|No [[Slag (slang)|slag]], Sherlock.]]

Sixshot was one of the Decepticons who followed [[Scorponok (G1)|Scorponok]] to [[Nebulos]]. He acted as an air transport to an unnamed Decepticon. Upon greeting [[Lord Zarak]]'s faction of Nebulans, he noted, "Strange creatures await us." He was never seen again.

===Blackthorn ''Transformers in 3D'' Comics continuity===

===Dreamwave comics continuity===
[[Image:Sixshotg1dw.jpg|left|thumb|"Strange heads await us."]]

After [[Shockwave (G1)|Shockwave]] successfully created the [[Triple Changer]]s, he sought to create an even more impressive warrior who could transform into an unprecedented six modes. However, Shockwave's short rule was ended by [[Megatron (G1)|Megatron]] before his project could be unveiled, but a mysterious figure was seen examining the remains of [[Blitzwing]]...

''('''Note''': [[Dreamwave Productions]] went out of business before Sixshot could be properly revealed. Earlier in the series, [[Octane]] is shown piloting a land vehicle that is clearly Sixshot's tank mode, which is later jacked by the [[Dinobot (G1)|Dinobots]]. This vehicle never transforms or shows any signs of sentience, so whether or not it is '''actually''' Sixshot is debatable. [[James McDonough]] later noted in an interview that it was not some random easter egg, and that its inclusion was deliberate foreshadowing of the future of Shockwave's experiments in multiple transformations.)''

===IDW comics continuity===

Sixshot was one of the most feared Decepticons in the galaxy, as well as one of the most powerful. His lethal, emotionless-nature ended up ostracizing him from his fellow Decepticons, and though he wasn't the most ''social'' warrior, he did miss the comradery of battle. The closest thing he had to "friends" were the [[Terrorcon (G1)|Terrorcon]]s, a troop of Decepticon warriors who envied Sixshot's power and reputation and aspired to one day be as great as he.

While on a mission to the strategically-significant planet [[Mumu-Obscura]], the Terrorcons went missing. After getting the info from [[Squawkbox]], Sixshot set out to rescue his "friends". After arriving, he found Mumu-Obscura to be a dead world, completely razed by a group known as the [[Reapers]]. The Reapers, lead by [[Deathbringer]], offered the lives of the Terrorcons to Sixshot, could the Decepticon defeat them in battle. Sixshot fought valiantly, though the Reapers proved to just be toying with him.

Eventually, Deathbringer called off the battle and handed over the Terrorcons. The entire fight had been a test and the Reapers were willing to extend membership to Sixshot. The final test for joining, however, would be that Sixshot must sever all sentimental connections to his past and eliminate the Terrorcons. Sixshot could not bring himself to do the deed, though a part of him truly craved to be a Reaper. Deathbringer allowed him to leave with the Terrorcons and declared that they would cross paths again, and hopefully then, Sixshot would be ready. {{storylink|Spotlight: Sixshot}} After [[Megatron (G1)|Megatron]]'s recent thrashing by [[Optimus Prime (G1)|Optimus Prime]], Sixshot was called in "early" to deal with the Autobots on [[Earth]]. {{storylink|Escalation, Part 6}}
==Toys==
===Generation 1===
*'''Sixshot''' (1987)
: ''Japanese ID number:'' '''D-98'''
:Sixshot transforms into a robot, a tank, a spaceship, a gun, an off-road vehicle, and a winged wolf. A seventh mode was created for the ''Headmasters'' animated series named "Wingwolf," into which the toy can be configured. It essentially combines various abilities from his different alternate modes into one form, including his wolf-mode fangs, his jet-mode flight, his gun-mode blasters and his tank-mode treads.

:The toy came with instructions that were sealed by a sticker, challenging the owner to figure out all the toy's modes without help. It really wasn't that hard, honestly - although the instructions (and packaging photos) actually managed to get the car mode wrong, neglecting to mention the additional rotation of the arms necessary to complete it. There are also a pair of extra holes inside Sixshot's legs into which his hypersonic concussion blasters can fit - presumably, this was the intended location for the weapons in gun mode, but the instructions and photos place them on the outside of the legs, in the same position as tank mode, which in turn was how the gun mode appeared in both the American and Japanese animated series.

: This mold was [[retool]]ed to make [[Great Shot]].

*'''Sixshot Black Version''' (2002)

: A special all-black version of Sixshot was made as a March [[Lucky Draw]] prize in ''Figure King Magazine'' in Japan. Only 10 black Sixshots were awarded.

*'''Sixshot Clear Version''' (2002)

: A special clear-colorless-plastic version of Sixshot was made as a March [[Lucky Draw]] prize from ''Hyper Hobby Magazine'' in Japan. Only 10 clear Sixshots were awarded.

===Merchandise===
:Sixshot was in Act 3 of [[Takara]]'s ''Super Collection Figure'' (SCF) line of PVC figurines. Like all pieces in this set, he was available both in full-color and all-clear versions.

==Trivia==
*The Sixshot (or more accurately Great Shot) mold was later further retooled to make the heroic "ninja detective" '''Shadowmaru''' from the [[Brave]] series ''Brave Police J-Decker''. Amusingly, while the other 5 forms are of standard size for the series (assuming 5 meters in robot mode), his size for gun mode was increased to the point that, in Transformers terms, Omega Supreme could use him for an oversized rifle.

24.207.235.20: /* ''Generation 1'' Marvel Comics continuity */

[[Image:ArceeManga1.jpg|right|300px|thumb| [[Arcee (G1)|Arcee]], the most famous female Transformer, poses for the boys. Way to set an example there.]]

Despite being robotic lifeforms with generally non-sexual methods of [[Reproduction | reproduction]], the [[Transformer]] species has almost always been shown to include both male and female gender analogues, at least mentally if not physically. '''Female Transformers''' are usually portrayed as comparatively rare, but are considered an official part of the Transformers franchise in pretty much every continuity.

Click here for a '''[[List of female Transformers]]''' from all continuities.

==Appearence==

The appearence of Female Transformers in most continuities would seem to suggest a level of "sexual" dimorphism is present in at least the more humanoid members of the Transformers species (the term sexual is used in a gender-based, rather than physical sense, see the reproduction link above for that whole kettle of robo-fish). In almost all cases female Transformers are portrayed as comparatively more gracile of form, and more rounded and curved in general, than their male counterparts. Often they have a more than passing resemblance to an attractive human female made of metal and wearing armor and [[kibble]].

There are exceptions to this rule, and bulky, less overtly human-female-like characters have become more common, particularly among those who have toys. These are especially common in the [[Unicron Trilogy]] series and in latter expansions of the [[Generation 1]] series out of Japan, when the characters are often assigned to pre-existing "male"-designed toys.

==Romance==

Despite their robotic nature and likely non-sexual means of reproduction, romance between male and female Transformers is a well-established factor in pretty much every continuity in which both appear (which is pretty much every continuity).

Regardless of the whys and wherefores many romantic male-female Transformer pairings have appeared over the years, including:

*[[Beta]] - [[Alpha Trion]]
*[[Elita One (G1)|Elita One]] (Ariel) - [[Optimus Prime (G1)|Optimus Prime]] (Orion Pax)
*[[Firestar]] - [[Inferno (G1)|Inferno]]
*[[Chromia]] - [[Ironhide (G1)|Ironhide]]
*[[Moonracer]] - [[Powerglide]]
*[[Arcee]] - [[Hot Rod]]
*Arcee - [[Springer]]
*Arcee - [[Chromedome]]
*Arcee (she gets around) - [[Bumblebee (G1)|Bumblebee]]
*[[Nancy]] - [[Wreck-Gar]]
*[[Esmeryl]] - [[Deathsaurus]]
*[[Clipper]] - [[Holi]]
*[[Rahge]] - [[Stampy]]
*[[Airazor (BW)|Airazor]] - [[Tigatron]]
*[[Blackarachnia (BW)|Blackarachnia]] - [[Silverbolt (Fuzor)|Silverbolt]]
*[[Botanica]] - [[Rattrap]]
*[[Downshift (Energon)|Downshift]] has a female "life partner" whose name has yet to be revealed.
[[San Diego (G1)|San Diego]] once had plans to marry [[Discharge]], apparently directly inspired by that aspect of [[human]] culture. Whether there was an actual romantic relationship involved is unknown.

==Fiction==
===Generation 1 animated series===
[[Image:G1femmes.jpg|right|450px|thumb|A bunch of [[Female Autobots]] from the G1 toon and [[Alpha Trion]]. His pimp cane was removed in post-production.]]

This continuity makes female Transformers out to be a rarity, once thought extinct. Given the appearance of Beta back in the slave days under [[Quintesson]] rule, it seems clear they were produced alongside the male [[Autobot]]s as part of the Quintessons' domestic product line. There are no [[Decepticon]] females in American continuity, however.

[[Wreck-Gar]] has a "[[Nancy|Junkion lady]]" companion in one episode. Just how relationships function in this isolated, media-based Transformers society is unclear, although it's notable that Wreck-Gar and his lady friend "slept" sitting up next to eachother on giant thrones between television broadcast cycles.

(It's also worth noting that the lady's character model is actually that of a female [[Lithone]], another mechanical race, but whether this is meaningful in any way or simple model recycling is uncertain.)

===''Generation 1'' Marvel Comics continuity===
[[Image:Nomates.jpg|left|thumb|200px|Or maybe Cloudburst is just very scared of committment.]]No female Transformers are ever seen or referred to in the US stories, and when [[Cloudburst]] is pressured into a relationship with the beautiful [[First One]] of [[Femax]], he explains that Transformers, as a species, have no gender. {{storylink|Recipe for Disaster!}} The UK stories corroborate this, and [[Arcee (G1)|Arcee]] is intentionally created by the Autobots to be the sole female Transformer in an attempt to placate [[human]] feminists. {{storylink|Prime's Rib!}} (See her picture above for a hint of how well that went over.)

[[BotCon]]'s ''[[Classics (2006)|Classics]]'' fiction, while not including the UK material, introduced [[Elita One (G1)|Elita One]] in a similar manner as UK Arcee. {{storylink|Games of Deception}}

(This continuity has, historically, been surprisingly alone in declaring Transformers to be naturally gender free.)

===Transformers: Victory===
[[Image:Esmeryl-manga.jpg|thumb|150px|right|This is an official ''Transformers'' character. No, really.]]

[[Decepticon]] females make their first (yet still to this day very rare) appearance in official fiction as [[Esmeryl]] ([[Deathsaurus]]' wife) and [[Lyzack]] ([[Leozack]]'s sister) both show up to show the Autobots just what it is Deathsaurus and his crew have been fighting for all this time: their poor female counterparts and countless children back home. This spares the Decepticons' lives in the final battle between the two forces. This certainly casts an odd light on the matter of Transformer [[reproduction]] (and on the manga author).

Meanwhile, in the animated series, the [[Micromaster]] [[Holi]] is shown to have a girlfriend on the planet [[Micro]], [[Clipper]]. There doesn't seem to be much special about her, aside from her being fairly competant and not subservient to guys at all. However, she ''is'' predominantly pink, so, well, baby steps.
{{-}}

===Beast Wars===
[[Blackarachnia]] and [[Airazor (BW)|Airazor]] both engage in romances with male [[Maximal]]s, the former blatantly and the latter far more subtly.

Over the course of the show Rattrap makes numerous innuendos, especially involving Silverbolt and Blackarchnia's relationship, that suggest that, at least by that era, there may have been something sex-like between Transformers. He also makes references to a bar on [[Cybertron (planet)|Cybertron]] where the wait-staff go "without their torso-plates on"... which frankly sounds like it'd be really messy.

===Beast Wars II===
[[Scylla]] is the impetus for a big ridiculous love triangle of hilarity and embarrassment in both the animated and manga continuities. She is in love with the squid-bot [[Scuba]], who wants nothing to do with her. Meanwhile, the [[Maximal]] [[Bighorn]] is in love with Scylla, who wants nothing to do with him.

It's also worth noting that non-Transformer female robot [[Artemis]] harbors a crush on both Scuba (poor guy) and [[Starscream (BWII)|Starscream]].

===Beast Machines===
''Beast Machines''<nowiki>'</nowiki> [[technorganic]] reformatting raises even further questions about what it means to be a "female transformer". It is possible that the Technorganic female Transformers, being merged organic and technological life to a cellular level, might actually be ''physically'' female.

[[Rattrap]] and [[Botanica]] end up in a romantic relationship towards the end of ''[[Beast Machines]]'' ("So, I'm a tree-hugger!" Rattrap remarks). What this means for his bar-hopping days is never explored.

The [[Vehicon]] [[Strika]] is referred to as the "consort" of [[Obsidian (BM)|Obsidian]], and has been serving by his side, seemingly as an equal, for centuries. Some have taken this to mean the two have a romantic interest in each other, but the show itself does not offer any hints to this.

===Dreamwave comic continuity===
According to DK's ''Transformers: The Ultimate Guide'', "Transformers are inherently non-gender specific, and only some quirk of their timelost origins can account for [female Transformers'] difference in appearance and attitude." Dreamwave was in the process of introducing more female Transformers and explicating their links to the Quintessons in this continuity when it went out of business.

===Unicron Trilogy===
[[Image:Twirl-Baby.jpg|left|thumb|250px|But she's got your altmode!]]

The existance of female Transformers throughout the [[Unicron Trilogy]] is portrayed as slightly uncommon (it is a fiction aimed at young boys, after all), but hardly remarkable. They just exist, as do "males", and no special attention is called to them. Quite a few appear in various places in "[[Motorcycle refugee|civilian]]" roles, as [[Autobot nurse|nurses]], and even on [[Velocitron band|colony worlds]].

There are examples and hints of romantic interest between males and females in both ''[[Armada]]'' ([[Redline]] and [[Falcia]] in the [[Linkage (comic)|''Linkage'' comics]], plus [[Nightscream (Armada)|Nightscream's]] eagerness to appease and defend his [[bulk]] partner [[Airazor (Armada)|Airazor]]), and ''[[Cybertron (franchise)|Cybertron]]'' stories (most obviously [[Thunderblast (Decepticon)|Thunderblast's]] intense infatuation with [[Megatron (Armada)|Megatron]], [[Ransack (Cybertron)|Ransack's]] secret crush on [[Override (Cybertron)|Override]], plus [[Downshift (Energon)|Downshift]] reportedly has an unnamed female "life partner" lost somewhere on [[Earth]]). This too is treated as a fairly common event.

There are female Transformers in positions of very high power as well: in the [[Energon (cartoon)|''Energon'' cartoon]], [[Arcee (Energon)|Arcee]] is the leader of the entire [[Omnicon]] race, while in ''Cybertron'', Override is the leader of the planet [[Velocitron]]. So far, the Unicron Trilogy is the only ''Transformers'' continuity to ''give'' female Transformers that level of responsibility.

:''('''Note''': In the French version of the ''Energon'' cartoon, Arcee is dubbed by a man. ''Why'' she was is currently unknown.)''

===IDW Comic continuity===
[[Simon Furman]] has stated that he will not use female Transformers in the IDW continuity until and/or unless he comes up with a reason or method for them to exist that makes logical sense to him. He did not rule out doing so however, as he said he had found a similar justification for the [[Pretender]]s, which led to the [[Stormbringer (comics)|Stormbringer]] miniseries.

Despite this, in ''[[Megatron Origin]]'' #2 [[Alex Milne]] has drawn what are clearly intended to be female Transformers hangin' all over a rather pimpin' looking Gundamish bot who's cheering Megatron's first fight in the [[Forge]]. Also, in the same issue, a Transformer clearly based on the female [[Tonka GoBots]] character Crasher is part of [[Clench (G2)|Clench]]'s (and later Megatron's) inner circle/gladitorial team. Whether one wants to treat either of these as anything more than an [[easter egg]] is, of course, up to the individual.

Adding more robo-estrogen to the fire, [[Elita One]] appears with [[Optimus Prime (G1)|her boyfriend]], [[Alpha Trion (G1)|their father]], and [[Ultra Magnus (G1)| close friend]] at [[Bumper]] and [[Fastback]]'s funeral in #3. And [[Chromia]] can be seen just in front of [[Ironhide (G1)|Ironhide]]. Either Furman changed his mind, or the artists are ''waaay'' too easter egg happy, which is ''incredibly'' likely.

With the announcement of the [[Arcee (G1)|Arcee]] [[Spotlight]] Furman has apparently found his path for including "female" TFs in the IDW-verse. Whether it will include/explain the above cameos remains to be seen.

:''Lio Convoy is a [[Maximal]] in the [[Beast Era]] portion of the [[Generation 1]] continuity family. He is also known as '''Leo Prime'''.''

[[Image:LioConvoy01.jpg|250px|thumb|right|He's no Leoric]]

A high-ranking member of the Maximals, '''Lio Convoy''' is honest to his core and possesses the strong sense of right and wrong that one expects from a robot with "[[Convoy]]" in his name. In part he's a tough, hard, career-military robot, but he doesn't let that side of his nature totally dominate who he is. There is a very humane, even gentle side to him as well, and there are times when one can't help but suspect his seriousness has a hidden smile behind it. Though Lio Convoy dislikes fighting for its own sake, for a just cause he is more than willing to throw himself into the frey. He believes that through combat one can gain insight and understanding of an opponents true character and thought processes.

[[Image:Lioconvoy_preformat.jpg|thumb|150px|left|Why do my shoulders hurt?]]
A Supreme Commander with his own [[Energon Matrix]]. He led a troop of Maximal soldiers to planet [[Gaia]] to stop [[Galvatron (BWII)|Galvatron]] and his [[Predacon (BW)|Predacons]].

After being attacked by a ship of rogue Predacons, lead by [[Galvatron (BWII)|Galvatron]], Lio Convoy and his army of Maximals gave chase to their enemies. Lio Convoy and his crew of Maximals chased Galvatron to the distant planet Gaia where Lio Convoy was separated from the rest of his troops while protecting [[Apache]] from a Predacon attack. The over-abundance of [[Angolmois]] energy proved harmful to Transformers, forcing all the Maximals to scan local wildlife for necessary beast modes. Injured, Lio Convoy was rescued by a white lion and scanned its form while recuperating. He then rescued his troops from another Predacon attack. Next, they set-up base on Gaia, now aware that Galvatron was after the powerful Angolmois energy.

Lio Convoy is later reunited with his "son", [[Lio Junior]]. While Lio Convoy was first recovering from Predacon attack, the Spirit of Gaia copied his Leadership Matrix and infused it within Lio Junior, resulting in Lio Junior's belief that he is Lio Convoy's offspring. Lio Convoy wasn't very eager to be weighed down by a son, and Lio Junior spent the bulk of the series trying desperately to earn his acceptance.

[[Image:Lioconvoyinemminentdomain.jpg|thumb|200px|right|Continuity migraine.]]

At one point, an alien machine that could warp time and space crashed onto Gaia. The Predacons used it to summon the unstoppable mobile fortress, [[Majin Zarak]], and quickly trashed most of the Maximals. [[Magnaboss (BWII)|Magnaboss]] (the combined form of Lio Junior, [[Santon]] and [[Skywarp (BWII)|Skywarp]]) managed to summon [[Optimus Primal]] to their aid with the machine.

Primal and Lio Convoy teamed-up to battle Majin Zarak, who turned out to be a sentient robot and not just a battle station. Together, they combined the power of the Leadership Matrices to upgrade themselves into Burning Convoy and Flash Lio Convoy.

[[Image:Flashlioconvoy.jpg|thumb|150px|left|Ooh... shiny...]]

With Primal's enhanced strength and Lio Convoy's super speed, they weakened Majin Zarak. They then unleashed the power within their Matrices into a "Double Matrix Blast" which finished-off the monster.

Lio Convoy had many more wacky adventures on Gaia, including but not limited to: Evil Clones, Space Pirates and Fiesty Mexican Robot Insects. Eventually, Galvatron summoned the [[Nemesis (BWII)|Nemesis]], a giant spacecraft, to suck all the Angolmois energy out of Gaia. The Maximals followed the Predacons to the Nemesis and Lio Convoy managed to infiltrate the ship with the help of [[Scuba]] and the [[Tako Tank]]. Inside, Lio Convoy faced Galvatron but could not defeat the Predacon Emperor of Destruction, who was now over-powered by Angolmois energy. Lio Junior soon arrived to rescue his daddy and the pair, with the help of "good" Angolmois energy, merged into the Great Green Warrior. They did battle with Galvatron and eventually defeated him, sealing the Angolmois energy into capsules and firing them off into space. Galvatron then revealed his big surprise and used his [[Galva-Matrix]] to cause the Nemesis to explode. Lio Convoy and the rest of the Maximals then fall into a wormhole.

====Beast Wars II manga====

====''Beast Wars Neo''====

After having their Angolmois capsules stolen by the [[Blentron]]s, [[Big Convoy]] and his Maximal new recruits are sucked into a wormhole while chasing their enemies. They came across Lio Convoy (whom they all had presumed dead) who explained to them that the Angolmois energy is really the lifeforce of [[Unicron]]. Lio Convoy used all his power to free the Maximals from the wormhole, though he remained trapped inside.

Lio Convoy eventually escaped from the wormhole and aided Big Convoy, the Maximals and [[Magmatron]] in the final battle against Unicron. After Big Convoy blew Unicron away with his Matrix Buster, the Maximals and Predacons formed an alliance of true unity and worked together to restore Cybertron. All of Lio Convoy's Maximal troops who were trapped inside the wormhole with him were eventually released and joined in the restoration of their homeworld.
[[Image:Lioconvoy gathering.jpg|thumb|right|Hey, look, he turns into Liger Zero!]]

The ever-vigilant Lio Convoy sat at the Maximal Council, but was also a member of a secret black-ops intelligence unit of the [[Maximal Imperium]]. During a conversation with [[Razorbeast]] that was officially off-the-record, he reminded his fellow Maximal that their unit doesn't exist and that the Imperium doesn't sanction their operations. He warned Razorbeast that if he was caught while undercover in [[Magmatron]]'s command, he would be disavowed.

Unfortunately, Lio Convoy believes that Magmatron is the true enemy, while [[Megatron (BW)|Megatron]] is just a loose cannon. Real good job of threat assessment there...

Lio Convoy leads a group known as the [[Pack]], a handful of Maximals who served under both Lio Convoy and Big Convoy during their respective campaigns. After Razorbeast's transwarp booster-sent distress message was strengthened by Magmatron, it reached Lio Convoy, who mobilized the Pack at once.
[[Image:Straxusaltmode.jpg|left|thumb|Yeah, but where does the axe go?]]''Following the assassination of the Decepticon warlord [[Trannis]] by the [[Autobot]] commando unit, the [[Wreckers]], Straxus assumed his position as Decepticon leader on Cybertron.''

When a Decepticon transmission beamed from the planet [[Earth]] circa the Earth year 1985 reached Cybertron, Straxus immediately arranged for the capture of the scientist [[Spanner]] so that a [[space bridge]] between the worlds could be constructed. Attempting to locate Spanner, the Autobot spy [[Scrounge]] learned of this plot, but was captured by [[Shrapnel (G1)|Shrapnel]] and brought before Straxus, who maliciously destroyed his unique recording-device arm before consigning him to death in the [[smelting pool]]s. In turn, [[Blaster]] came searching for Scrounge (against orders), was captured and brought before Straxus, and sentenced to the pools. There he discovered the dying Scrounge, was given the information he had acquired, and escaped with the aid of his Autobot friends who had come looking for him (against orders).

The space bridge was subsequently completed, but its earliest tests reduced Straxus to rage when a malfunction caused the death of [[Crosscut (Decepticon)|Crosscut]], and he sent another unfortunate to instant death in an attempt to figure out what had gone wrong. As the tests went on, an Autobot raiding party planted explosives within Darkmount, destroying it, and sending an enraged Straxus after their heads. With the bridge unattended, Blaster intended to destroy it, but was confronted by Straxus in a one-on-one duel. Crippling Blaster with his axe, Straxus was duped into accidentally severing the bridge's fuel line, destabilizing its teleporting arch, through which Blaster then kicked Straxus, destroying him.

''However, while Straxus's body was reduced to ash, his head was salvaged and placed in a life-support pod that allowed him to continue on in his position as leader. Soon after, when [[Megatron (G1)|Megatron]] arrived on Cybertron, Straxus immediately set in motion a scheme to restore himself to life, calmly following Megatron's directions to hunt down [[Optimus Prime (G1)|Optimus Prime]], who had arrived on the planet with him. After Prime carried out several successful raids alongside the Wreckers, Megatron began to grow more and more unstable, and Straxus more and more impatient with his deranged houseguest. Despite the warnings of his technicians as to the "unpredictability" of the machinery involved, Straxus made the final step, activating a device that would exchange his and Megatron's minds, giving him a body once more. Megatron resisted the transfer, however, leaving the two minds within Megatron's body, fighting for dominance, each one in control at a different moment. In battle with Prime and [[Ultra Magnus (G1)|Ultra Magnus]], Megatron prepared to unleash his destructive anti-matter powers, but in order to stop him, [[Ratbat]] activated the space bridge, teleporting the three Transformers back to [[Earth]].''

''Before this could occur, having failed to oust Megatron's mind, Straxus activated his contingency plan, "[[Project Re-Birth]]," and his consciousness fled into a body he had specially prepared - a duplicate of Megatron created from a "hapless trooper," complete with a copy of his brain patterns, beneath which Straxus's personality lay dormant. Upon hearing of the true Megatron's seeming death aboard the space bridge a short time later, the project technicians activated the clone, sending it to the sewers beneath [[London]] where it came into conflict with a small group of Autobots, [[G.I. Joe|Action Force]] and [[Centurion]]. Straxus's mind had yet to take over the clone at this point, and it genuinely believed itself to be the true Megatron, but it was soon dealt with when an oil tank explosion sent it and Centurion tumbling into the Thames river.''

''Some time later, seeking a weapon to use against the deranged future Decepticon [[Galvatron (G1)|Galvatron]], [[Shockwave (G1)|Shockwave]] recovered the Megatron clone, also believing it to be the genuine article, only to find that "Megatron"'s mind had retreated into itself. Shockwave subjected the clone to the [[psycho probe]], intending to force "Megatron" to face his fears - but instead, Straxus emerged, intending to fight Megatron's fears for him and finally take control of the body. Megatron fought back, however, ripping the mental image of Straxus to pieces and finally taking over their shared mind.''

''This Megatron proceeded to battle Galvatron, and then sided with him to battle Autobots of the present and future in the "[[Time Wars]]". Faced with destruction on all sides, the Megatron clone opted instead to return to Cybertron, where he dethroned the decadent ruling [[Triumvirate]] and took control of the Decepticons on the planet once more. Soon, however, he began to suffer from nightmarish visions of the lives lived by both the trooper whose body became his, and of Straxus, just as the true Megatron - having recovered his memories after a period of wandering amensia in the [[Dead End]] - attacked his base. The two Megatrons battled, with the true one revealed the clone's nature to him, and all at once, everything made sense to the clone. Along with this revelation, another immediately arose - Straxus's mental defeat was a sham, and he had been dwelling within the clone's mind all along, steadily growing in power as the clone weakened. Straxus made one final attempt to seize control of their mind, and the clone committed suicide, blowing his own head off with his [[fusion cannon]], rather than allow Straxus to win.''

''It is possible that in the original un-altered pre-Time Wars timeline, the Straxus-Megatron clone may have been the Megatron transformed into Galvatron, but the shifting nature of the timelines makes this open to debate at best.''

''('''Note:''' The true nature of the Megatron clone was not revealed until the story which depicted his death. This was because, for all of the clone's other stories, he was regarded by characters, readers and writer [[Simon Furman]] as actually being the ''real'' Megatron, having survived his supposed death in the US comics. The US comics, however, continued to treat Megatron as pushing up daisies, so when Simon Furman took over writing that title and penned Megatron's return, he needed an explanation that would reconcile Megatron's continual appearances in the UK title with his lack of activity in the US. Relegating the Megatron of the UK comics to a clone was that explanation, revealed in UK-exclusive strips which ran concurrently with the reprints of Megatron's US return.''

====''Generation 2''====

[[Jhiaxus]] refers to Straxus as one of the petty, small-minded dictators he left in charge of [[Cybertron (planet)|Cybertron]] when he left to start the [[Cybertronian Empire]].

==Trivia==
*For some reason, Straxus' colors changed drastically between the two sole issues he was in for the US comic.
