==Synopsis==

Shockwave intends to capture the Autobot Bumblebee and install a device that will make Bumblebee his slave. Shockwave's plans are made even simpler when Bumblebee decides to abandon the Autobots, feeling that they would be better off without him. Bumblebee is quickly located and attacked, and in his attempts to escape, is "picked up" by a couple of car thieves that think a Volkswagen Beetle is a better choice for car stealing that any of the other vehicles in the yard in which Bumblebee is hiding. Bumblebee goes along with the theft, actually enjoying the ability to show off his better-than-average driving abilities, but is soon rediscovered by the Decepticons. Prepared to sacrfice himself (and fellow Autobot Jetfire) to save his new human friends, Bumblebee is saved at the last moment by the arrival of Optimus Prime and a convoy of Autobots.

Millions of years ago on Cybertron, Skyfire and [[Starscream (G1)|Starscream]] were good friends and fellow scientists. On a mission of exploration to prehistoric Earth Skyfire was lost in a storm and burried beneath the arctic ice. Starscream searched long and hard, but there was no sign of his comrade. He returned home.

Later the Decepticons found and revived Skyfire who joined them due to his past friendship with Starscream. When his compasion for humans led to his disobeying orders, Starscream, who had changed much in the intervening millenia, turned on his friend. Skyfire left the Decepticons and joined the Autobots, sacrificing himself again to be burried beneath the ice to stop the Decepticon's plans.

The Autobots would later dig him up when ever they needed an airborn taxi-service.

Disguise has always been a key component of Transformer operations on other worlds. Pretenders attempt to take this concept to the next level. Pretenders are Transformers fitted with special external armor shells that disguise their very nature and make them appear organic. Rather than hiding themselves as the machinery or vehicles of a world, Pretender Shells alow a robot to take on the appearance of a native lifeform itself.

On top of their exploration and infiltration uses the shells can also function as powerful battle armor, aid in self-repair, and sometimes even function independently of their robot as a second combatant mentally controled by their "wearer." Guiltar rose from the sea off of Japan, seeking out [[Rodimus_Prime_(G1)|Rodimus Prime]] and [[Galvatron_(G1)|Galvatron]], who were in the area about to face off in another duel. Guiltar attacked Rodimus with a variety of artillery modes, sending the Autotbot leader flying. But as Galvatron gloated over his fallen enemy, Guiltar snuck behind him and attacked, savagely beating Galvatron and kicking him to where Rodimus had fallen.

Down, the two faction leaders teamed up against their new common foe. Rodimus transformed into vehicle mode and rammed Guiltar, Galvatron following up with a blast in cannon mode. The two joined in a combined kick, destroying Guiltar's body. Starscream's ghost floated free of the shattered chassis, and the two leaders realized they still had the Quintessons to deal with.

Instead, she does what she can to help the [[Mini-Cons]] establish a home on Earth, away from the Autobot-[[Decepticon]] war, despite any dangers put in her path. She is compassionate, brave and proud, and endlessly impressed at how alike humans and Mini-Cons are, despite their physical differences. She can understand the Mini-Cons' standard binary language thanks to a mental link of the sort formed when a Mini-Con bonds with a "[[Bulk]]".

Of all the Mini-Cons, she is the closest emotionally to the [[Super Stunt Mini-Con Team]], especially its leader [[Redline (UT)|Redline]].

Stella first encountered the Transformers as she entered her company's parking garage after work. The [[Super Stunt Team]] of [[Redline_(UT)|Redline]], [[Flat-Out_(UT)|Flat-Out]] and [[Servo_(UT)|Servo]] had just turned her car into a turbo cannon via [[Powerlinx]] in order to destroy a pair of pursuing [[Fixer Bug|Fixer Bugs]]. After Redline formed a mental link with her and explained their plight, she hid the Mini-Cons in her home and helped them in their plans to build a Mini-Con haven on Earth.

She accompanied the Team and the newly-awakened [[Rollbar_(UT)|Rollbar]] to the Deccan Plateau in India, where a shuttle from [[Cybertron_(planet)|Cybertron]] had landed. Stella was to act as the interpreter for the Mini-Cons to negotiate for technology from the shuttle, should the shuttle pilot be an Autobot. (In the event it was a Decepticon, they had jury-rigged a portable warp-gate small enough for only their use to escape through.) When the [[Speed Chaser Team]] of [[Unicron]]-aligned Mini-Cons attacked, Stella managed to defend a mode-locked and upended Servo from a Fixer Bug, but it was the intervention of [[Scavenger_(UT)|Scavenger]] that saved Stella and the Super Stunt Mini-Cons in the end. Stella talked with Scavenger, and he let the Mini-Cons have his ship on the grounds that they forget they ever saw him. However, she began to suffer the effects of heatstroke shortly after, and the Team quickly got her home with their new shuttle.

After the [[Sonic Assault Team]] joined up with Redline and crew, Stella went with the Mini-Cons to one of the Hawaiian Islands, where Redline set up a device that would unlock the [[Master Key]] program that would give all Mini-Cons unrestricted access to a vast power well, enabling them to break their programming blocks and Powerlinx-activated servility programs. Redline entrusted Stella with the protection of the last two [[Mini-Con storage panel]]s he kept inside him while he underwent the upgrade process. When the monstrous [[Ravenus_(UT)|Ravenus]] ensnared Servo and [[Twirl_(UT)|Twirl]], Stella fought back to save them in a battle mech made from her car, transformed by Powerlinx energy provided by Flat-Out and [[Falcia_(UT)|Falcia]]. She was able to knock Servo free from his link-port, but Ravenus escaped with Twirl. Realizing they needed more backup, Stella released the two Mini-Cons [[Impulsor_(UT)|Impulsor]] and [[Quench_(UT)|Quench]] from the storage panels, and the two called their team leader, [[Kingbolt_(UT)|Kingbolt]], in to assist.

With Ravenus restored to his original, uncorrupted Autobot state and the [[Doomstone]] he held within him contained, all of the "free" Mini-Cons that had awakened when Redline activated the upgrade gathered on the island in order to return to Cybertron with the Autobots so they could protect the planet from Unicron. After a tearful goodbye, Stella returned to her job, taking up drawing as a hobby and a way of remembering her friends. A year after the Mini-Cons left, her red hair spontaneously began to turn platinum blonde--a sign from her friends they had returned, as Stella had made a passing remark to them about wishing she could change her hair color.

She looks totally better as a redhead, but hey.

It is assumed that she and her Mini-con friends reunited shortly thereafter at the new Mini-Con city on Earth that Redline and his friends created.

Primus was no match for Unicron. But Primus did manage to trap both his and Unicron's essences inside metallic planetoids. Over time, Unicron learned to shape his planetoid into a metal being that was able to transform between planet mode and a robot mode which resembled his original astral form. The two brothers shared a mental link. So long as Primus hid himself in slumber, so did Unicron also sleep. Their war ended, for a time, in stalemate.

[[Grimlock_(G1)|Grimlock]], [[Jazz_(G1)|Jazz]], and [[Bumblebee_(G1)|Bumblebee]] found themselves transported to the center of [[Cybertron_(planet)|Cybertron]]. In a battle with [[Bludgeon_(G1)|Bludgeon]]'s [[Pretenders]], a laser blast ricocheted off Grimlock and struck the essence of the sleeping Primus, causing a multiverse-shaking Primal Scream that woke Unicron and alerted him to Primus' location.

The battle between Primus and Unicron began anew. Though Unicron would sometimes be defeated, this is always temporary, and there is a whole multiverse of realities to consume. When Unicron is destroyed in one reality, he will respawn in another, ready to eat again.

After the Primal Scream, Unicron headed directly towards Cybertron. He created three [[Heralds]] to send ahead of him and prepare the Transformers for his arrival: [[Hook_(Herald)|Hook]], [[Line_(Herald)|Line]], and [[Sinker_(Herald)|Sinker]]. He also borrowed a version of Galvatron from another dimension's future in which he was successful in devouring Cybertron.

Unicron placed a mental command in some Transformers, generating a cult of Autobots and Decepticons. His worshippers gathered to attack the leader of the two united factions, which had gathered on Cybertron when they sensed Unicron drawing near. Their assassination attempt was defeated with the help of Galvatron, Unicron's wayward herald.

Unicron was so unimaginably large that the sight of him froze both Transformer factions into inaction. Unicron, disappointed that victory was this simple, tore apart the planet's surface. It was only the actions of the kidnapped Galvatron that snapped the Transformers out of their collective terror. Even the united Transformers were unable to hold Unicron off. After being fazed by the [[Neo-Knight]] [[Rapture]] and temporarily shorted out by [[Circuit Breaker]], it was [[Optimus_Prime_(G1)|Optimus Prime]] who flew towards Unicron and opened the Matrix. The life contained inside caused Unicron to explode.

Unicron showed up a few more times in this universe. He showed up again in 2005 in events similar to his appearance in Transformers: The Movie. In 2007, he used mind control to force [[Junkions]] to build him a new body out of the planet of Junk. And in the far, far, future, his essence began to corrupt the Matrix itself, turning Rodimus Prime evil and forcing him into isolation.

====Transformers: The Movie====

In his first documented appearance, Unicron was known as a giant Transformer which devoured everything in his path. After the Battle of Autobot City, [[Megatron_(G1)|Megatron]] and several dead Decepticons were dumped in space. Unicron reformatted Megatron into [[Galvatron_(G1)|Galvatron]] and out of the dead Decepticons, he created [[Cyclonus_(G1)|Cyclonus]], [[Scourge_(G1)|Scourge]], and Scourge's [[Sweeps]]. He ordered them to destroy the Matrix.

Galvatron returned with the Matrix, but intended to use it to make Unicron his slave. Unicron ate him. After eating two of Cybertron's moons, Unicron attacked Cybertron. [[Shockwave_(G1)|Shockwave]] and the rest of the Decepticons, at the time in control of Cybertron, fought back, but this had little effect. Unicron swallowed many spaceships, one of which contained the young Autobot [[Hot_Rod_(G1)|Hot Rod]]. Hot Rod and Galvatron battled deep inside Unicron. Ultimately, Hot Rod was able to retake the Matrix, change into Rodimus Prime, defeat Galvatron, and use the Matrix to destroy Unicron. Unicron's body exploded, though its head remained intact and orbited Cybertron.

Unicron had no explained origin in the movie, but later, in the third season episode "[[Call of the Primitives]]", his history in the animated continuity was revealed - Unicron was created near the beginning of time by an ancient genius called [[Primacron]], to destroy the universe for him to remake in his own image. But Unicron decided that he would be the one to rule the universe, not Primacron, and rebelled against his creator, voyaging out into the vast expanse of space.

His destruction in the movie was not the last the Transformers saw of Unicron - the ghost of Starscream reactivated his severed head and entered into a bargain with Unicron, performing three labours in exchange for the restoration of his body. [[Starscream (G1)|Starscream]] and Scourge gathered for Unicron [[Metroplex (G1)|Metroplex's]] eyes (breaking one and replacing it with one from [[Trypticon (G1)|Trypticon]] and Trypticon's [[transformation cog]], and then connected his head to Cybertron, which would become Unicron's new body. Starscream demanded that Unicron restore his body so that he could complete the connection; but once Unicron had done so, Starscream double-crossed him and refused to finish the job. Unicron's head was subsequently blown off into space by an explosion instigated by the Autobots.

Later, when searching for a new supply of anti-electrons, the Decepticons ventured to Unicron's head, where Cyclonus and Scourge accidentally awoke the slumbering demi-god. At the same time, Grimlock - who had gained super-intelligence through an infusion of anti-electrons - had constructed from pieces of Unicron's head the [[Technobots]], and one of their number, [[Strafe (G1)|Strafe]], severed enough of Unicron's neural connections to shut him back down.

Unlike the comics portrayal, Unicron is shown to be a large transforming machine and not a godlike being.

In the series, Unicron's role was taken on by [[Roger C. Carmel]].

Following his destruction in 2006, Unicron's severed lifeforce was displaced in time to Earth's distant past, prior to the Beast Wars.<br>
It rested in the pit caused by its own impact, quiescent for many millenia, until found by a Predacon known as The Hunter around the Machine Era.
Taking the name [[Shokaract (BW)|Shokaract]], he used this Dark Essence to conquer, ruling over an apocalyptic 32nd Century future.<br>
Due to severe time-travel mischief, the events leading up to Shokaracts's timeline were averted when
the Dark Essence fled Earth from the Beast Wars, possibly to reappear later in [[Beast Wars II]]. (see below)

The Dark Essence possessed only rudimentary intelligence, lacking the full force of Unicron's personality. It appears Unicron's Spark remained with his severed head (which has a back-up spark chamber) in 2005, while his power was displaced in time.<br>
Is it unclear if this displacement was accidental, or represents an attemt by Unicron to preserve his power.

Shokaract contained the Dark Essence within a [[Matrix of Conquest]] from which he drew his powers.
This is very similar to the relationship between Primus and the Matrix of Leadership, where The Matrix holds the majority of his power, leaving Primus himself weak.<br>
The Matrix of Conquest appears to be unique to Shokaract's timeline branch, and would not exist outside of it.

====Reunification====
[[Beast Wars Neo]] gathered Unicron's scattered life-energy (again hidden on future-Earth, again lacking his mind) with his shattered body.<br>

After the events of ''Transformers: The Movie'', the [[Angolmois]] that gave him life was extracted and sealed in planet [[Gaia]]. However, the Angolmois energy surge from the explosion of Nemesis revived Unicron. He created the [[Blendtrons]] to bring him the [[Angolmois Capsules]] to complete his resurrection. The Blendtrons brought the lifeless body of [[Galvatron_(BW)|Galvatron]], which Unicron's essence entered to use as a temporary host. After gathering the Capsules, Unicron possessed Cybertron via [[Vector Sigma]] to make it his new body. Ultimately, he was finally defeated by [[Big Convoy]]'s Matrix Cannon.

After being defeated by the [[Wreckers]], Unicron floated in ruin. Using what energies he had left, he called Transformers from various corners of the multiverse inside him to do battle. Disguised as Cybertron's moon, Unicron created the race of small robots known as the [[Mini-Cons]] to increase the ferocity of the Autobot/Decepticon war. When conflict exists, Unicron can feed off the energies released.

When the Mini-Cons found their way to Earth, they were followed by the Autobots and Decepticons. Unicron dispatched an agent, [[Sideways_(UT)|Sideways]], created from part of himself, to carry on his work. Sideways escalated the conflict by manipulating control of the three Mini-Cons weapons - the [[Star_Saber_(UT)|Star Saber]], the [[Skyboom (UT) (Armada)|Skyboom Shield]] and the [[Requiem Blaster]], the three keys that were then used to awaken Unicron.

As Unicron turned on Cybertron, the Mini-Cons broke free of his control, deactivating him - but when [[Megatron_(UT)|Galvatron]] then began his final battle with [[Optimus_Prime_(UT)|Optimus Prime]], the hatred and ferocity of the fight awoke Unicron once more.

To end the circle of hate that gave Unicron life, Galvatron allowed himself to be consumed by the monster, and in a brilliant flash of light, Unicron apparently ceased to exist.

=====Energon=====

Alas, it was not to be, for there is always hate in the universe. Having survived, Unicron started to consume worlds in the far reaches of space, with the Transformers unaware of his deeds. One such unfortunate world was [[Planet Q]], but the general of that world's armies detonated the planet's core as Unicron consumed it, heavily damaging him and forcing him into dormancy - and within Unicron, the spark of Planet Q's leader, [[Alpha Quintesson (UT)|Alpha Q]], still existed, and recreated his planet's armies as Terrorcons to gather [[Energon]] to regenerate all the worlds Unicron had consumed.

However, Megatron's corpse and spark remained within Unicron, and slowly siphoned off some of the gathered Energon, allowing him to be reborn in his own new body. Alpha Q jettisoned Unicron's head and escaped in it, while Megatron took over Unicron's body, and continued to gather Energon in order to rebuild Unicron to use as his ultimate weapon. As the climax of this plan neared, a joint attack by Alpha Q, the Autobots and their human allies saw all of Earth's Energon channeled into Unicron's head, which Alpha Q then rammed into Unicron's body.

The positively-charged Energon of Earth reacted with the negatively-charged Energon running through Unicron, tearing open a fissure in reality leading to a new area of space where planets Unicron consumed were recreated, and sustained through the Energon radiated from Unicron's head, which had now become a glowing red sun.
Unicron's body, damaged once more, lay in the dark reaches near the fissure, and the Decepticons began to raid Alpha Q's new planets for the Energon necessary to revive Unicron again. This time, they succeeded, and Megatron directed Unicron's body to retrieve his head, extinguishing the Energon Sun and killing Alpha Q in the process. But the power of Unicron proved too much for Megatron to control, as Unicron began to take over Megatron's body. In the ensuing battle between Unicron and the super-powered [[Optimus Supreme (UT)|Optimus Supreme]], Unicron's body was successfully destroyed.

But unbeknownst to anyone, he lived on in two forms: his miniscule Spark, and his consciousness, which lay buried in Megatron's mind. With quiet, subconscious nudgings, Unicron led Megatron to a massive reservior of "[[Super Energon]]" beneath Cybertron's surface, which transformed him into Galvatron upon his first exposure.<br>
After a series of failed battles, Galvatron proceeded to expose himself to the Super Energon once again, and this time grew to a gigantic height. Unicron seized control of his body again for a new vessel and set out to rejoin with his Spark, but a Primus-empowered Optimus Supreme engaged him in battle once more, and drew all of Unicron's consciousness out of Galvatron and sealed it within his own Spark.

Enraged, Galvatron prepared to destroy Unicron's Spark, but it merged with him, enlarging him again, leading to another battle with Optimus Supreme, this time bolstered by the combined energy of all his troops' Sparks. Meanwhile, Primus merged with the Super Energon, creating a foundling sun which arrived at the site of the battle. Taking control of his body for a brief moment, Galvatron once again sacrificed himself in order to stop Unicron, plunging himself into the infant sun, which ignited and gave new life to Alpha Q's worlds.

=====Cybertron=====

Primus' plan to trap Unicron in the heart of a new sun failed, and instead resulted in a [[Unicron Singularity|black hole]] that threatened the multiverse. His heralds [[Ramjet_(Herald)|Ramjet]] and [[Nemesis Prime (TFU)|Nemesis Prime]] travelled to Cybertron to unleash the [[Dead Matrix]] upon Primus' vulnerable essence.

Vector Prime was able to defeat [[Ramjet_(TFU)|Ramjet]] and send him into the black hole in which Unicron was trapped, while [[Sentinel Maximus (TFU)|Sentinel Maximus]] with the help of [[Omega Prime (TFU)|Omega Prime]] was able to stop Nemesis Prime from unleashing the power of the [[Dead Matrix]] on Primus.

The fate of Unicron is still to be determined.

Recently, it has been revealed that [[Planet X]] is seeking to revive Unicron.

Although Unicron himself is no longer present, remnants of his dark power persist within the new body of Megatron, which was forged from the armor of the fallen god.

Stella Holley is a 26-year-old employee of a paperware manufacturer in or around Seattle, Washington. Like most humans, she is drawn into the Transformers' war by coincidence, but unlike most she does not expressly ally herself with or against the [[Autobot|Autobots]]. Instead, she does what she can to help the [[Mini-Cons]] establish a home on Earth, away from the Autobot-[[Decepticon]] war, despite any dangers put in her path. She can understand the Mini-Cons' standard binary language thanks to a mental link of the sort formed when a Mini-Con bonds with a "[[Bulk]]".

She mentions having a cheerleader outfit, though we never see it.

==Micron Legends: Linkage==

Stella first encountered the Transformers as she entered her company's parking garage after work. The [[Super Stunt Team]] of [[Redline_(UT)|Redline]], [[Flat-Out_(UT)|Flat-Out]] and [[Servo_(UT)|Servo]] had just turned her car into a turbo cannon via [[Powerlinx]] in order to destroy a pair of pursuing [[Fixer Bug|Fixer Bugs]]. After Redline formed a mental link with her and explained their plight, she hid the Mini-Cons in her home and helped them in their plans to build a Mini-Con haven on Earth.

She accompanied the Team and the newly-awakened [[Rollbar_(UT)|Rollbar]] to the Deccan Plateau in India, where a shuttle from [[Cybertron_(planet)|Cybertron]] had landed. Stella was to act as the interpreter for the Mini-Cons to negotiate for technology from the shuttle, should the shuttle pilot be an Autobot. (In the event it was a Decepticon, they had jury-rigged a portable warp-gate small enough for only their use to escape through.) When the [[Speed Chaser Team]] of [[Unicron]]-aligned Mini-Cons attacked, Stella managed to defend a mode-locked and upended Servo from a Fixer Bug, but it was the intervention of [[Scavenger_(UT)|Scavenger]] that saved Stella and the Super Stunt Mini-Cons in the end. Stella talked with Scavenger, and he let the Mini-Cons have his ship on the grounds that they forget they ever saw him. However, she began to suffer the effects of heatstroke shortly after, and the Team quickly got her home with their new shuttle.

After the [[Sonic Assault Team]] joined up with Redline and crew, Stella went with the Mini-Cons to one of the Hawaiian Islands, where Redline set up a device that would unlock the [[Master Key]] program that would give all Mini-Cons unrestricted access to a vast power well, enabling them to break their programming blocks and Powerlinx-activated servility programs. Redline entrusted Stella with the protection of the last two [[Mini-Con storage panel]]s he kept inside him while he underwent the upgrade process. When the monstrous [[Ravenus_(UT)|Ravenus]] ensnared Servo and [[Twirl_(UT)|Twirl]], Stella fought back to save them in a battle mech made from her car, transformed by Powerlinx energy provided by Flat-Out and [[Falcia_(UT)|Falcia]]. She was able to knock Servo free from his link-port, but Ravenus escaped with Twirl. Realizing they needed more backup, Stella released the two Mini-Cons [[Impulsor_(UT)|Impulsor]] and [[Quench_(UT)|Quench]] from the storage panels, and the two called their team leader, [[Kingbolt_(UT)|Kingbolt]], in to assist.

With Ravenus restored to his original, uncorrupted Autobot state and the [[Doomstone]] he held within him contained, all of the "free" Mini-Cons that had awakened when Redline activated the upgrade gathered on the island in order to return to Cybertron with the Autobots so they could protect the planet from Unicron. Stella first encountered the Transformers as she entered her company's parking garage after work. The [[Super Stunt Team]] of [[Redline_(UT)|Redline]], [[Flat-Out_(UT)|Flat-Out]] and [[Servo_(UT)|Servo]] had just turned her car into a turbo cannon via [[Powerlinx]] in order to destroy a pair of pursuing [[Fixer Bug|Fixer Bugs]]. After Redline formed a mental link with her and explained their plight, she hid the Mini-Cons in her home and helped them in their plans to build a Mini-Con haven on Earth.

She accompanied the Team and the newly-awakened [[Rollbar_(UT)|Rollbar]] to the Deccan Plateau in India, where a shuttle from [[Cybertron_(planet)|Cybertron]] had landed. Stella was to act as the interpreter for the Mini-Cons to negotiate for technology from the shuttle, should the shuttle pilot be an Autobot. (In the event it was a Decepticon, they had jury-rigged a portable warp-gate small enough for only their use to escape through.) When the [[Speed Chaser Team]] of [[Unicron]]-aligned Mini-Cons attacked, Stella managed to defend a mode-locked and upended Servo from a Fixer Bug, but it was the intervention of [[Scavenger_(UT)|Scavenger]] that saved Stella and the Super Stunt Mini-Cons in the end. Stella talked with Scavenger, and he let the Mini-Cons have his ship on the grounds that they forget they ever saw him. However, she began to suffer the effects of heatstroke shortly after, and the Team quickly got her home with their new shuttle.

After the [[Sonic Assault Team]] joined up with Redline and crew, Stella went with the Mini-Cons to one of the Hawaiian Islands, where Redline set up a device that would unlock the [[Master Key]] program that would give all Mini-Cons unrestricted access to a vast power well, enabling them to break their programming blocks and Powerlinx-activated servility programs. Redline entrusted Stella with the protection of the last two [[Mini-Con storage panel]]s he kept inside him while he underwent the upgrade process. When the monstrous [[Ravenus_(UT)|Ravenus]] ensnared Servo and [[Twirl_(UT)|Twirl]], Stella fought back to save them in a battle mech made from her car, transformed by Powerlinx energy provided by Flat-Out and [[Falcia_(UT)|Falcia]]. She was able to knock Servo free from his link-port, but Ravenus escaped with Twirl. Realizing they needed more backup, Stella released the two Mini-Cons [[Impulsor_(UT)|Impulsor]] and [[Quench_(UT)|Quench]] from the storage panels, and the two called their team leader, [[Kingbolt_(UT)|Kingbolt]], in to assist.

Once he'd gathered the power he needed, the Mini-Cons would turn on their supposed masters, incapacitating them, and Unicron would fully awaken to devour the planet and all Transformers on it, eliminating his biggest obstacle to devouring all of existance.

Mini-Cons are a 3rd race of Transformer, mostly living in designated sectors to to themselves, which left the open to attack when [[Megatron (UT)|Megatron]] led his Decepticons on capture raids. Mini-Cons are capable of adding their power (disproportionate to their size) to a Transformer with whom they powerlink. Mini-Cons are also capable of tapping an extradimensional energy source of unknown origin, but are wary of doing this, and most have inhibitors installed to prevent this from happening.

[[Over-Run (UT)|Over-Run]], a Mini-Con refugee from another dimension led Cybertron's collected Mini-Cons in tapping that dimension's energies and channeling them into an attack on Unicron which left him stranded on the far fringes of space.
After Unicron's defeat, Most Mini-Cons re-established their villages in the Mini-Con sector. When Unicron appeared again 10 years later, no one went to fetch the Mini-cons to battle Unicron again, so it seems likely the Mini-Cons connection to their extradimensional power source was severed.

The term '''Seeker''' refers to [[Decepticon]] jet troopers who all share the same body style. That is, the Decepticons in ''[[Generation 1]]'' that looked like [[Starscream (G1)|Starscream]] but in different colors or with minor variations in wing and head shapes, and also the Decepticons in later franchises such as ''[[Armada]]'' where similar "families" of jets appear.

The word "Seeker" is in a strange grey area between official and fan-coined terms. It seems to have originated in extremely obscure official or semi-official writing, but somehow became widely used among fans. In 2002 the term appeared in dialogue from the first issue of [[War Within|''The War Within'']] from [[Dreamwave]], making it technically "official". It has subsequently appeared here and there in other official materials (including the ''[[Armada]]'' storybook, "[[The Awakening]]"), although its frequency of official use is still rather low.

==G1 Seekers==
In G1, there were six Seekers given names and characterization: [[Starscream (G1)|Starscream]], [[Skywarp (G1)|Skywarp]], [[Thundercraker (G1)|Thundercracker]], [[Thrust (G1)|Thrust]], [[Dirge (G1)|Dirge]], and [[Ramjet (G1)|Ramjet]]. The last three are usualy designated as [[Conehead]] Seekers by fans for their distinctive transformation that leaves the jet nosecone pointing up. The animation models for the Conehead Seekers were designed by [[Floro Dery]], whereas the season one Seekers were done primarily by an unknown designer in Japan.

In the G1 cartoon, there were large numbers of "generic", unnamed Seekers in addition to the named characters. They gradually became less common, perhaps as a result of casualties, or as a result of the cartoon's production team getting more careful, or just plain having more "actual" Decepticons to work with as the line expanded.

On the page which shows the Christmas season's availble TFs, the following entry is found: "Decepticon Silver Plane. Airplane with sensational F-15 styling scours the countryside searching for Autobots. When they're found, the '''Seekers''' set out to destroy them. Transforms to an exciting robot with hi-tech weapons and Decepticon logo." A photo of Starscream and Thundercracker is displayed.

It has been rumored, but not demonstrated, that the term "Seeker" was used in some other early promotional materials. If so, then the term must have been handed down by Hasbro at some point. It hardly seems possible that the term could have been invented by a lowly copy writer at Penny's who also just happend to decide to capitalize it. Still, though, if this catalog is the only primary source in which the term appears, it seems strange that it could have inspired the entire fandom to use the term. "Seeker" was in wide use among internet Transfans even in the early 1990s, when the fandom was just getting off its feet. Did somebody in the days of the Transformers email list have a memory of the word from when they saw this catalog at age 10 and start the trend? It is probably impossible to know at this point.

==Apocryphal origins==
It is sometimes claimed that "Seeker" is derived from a line of dialogue in the first episode of the G1 cartoon, in which these jets are referred to as "hunter-seekers". This line does not exist.

The term "hunter-seekers" is used in issue 17 of the US comic, [[The Smelting Pool (comic issue)|The Smelting Pool]]. However, the Decepticons it is applied to are shown only in their flight modes, which look nothing like the "Seekers" we are familiar with. In fact, the Conehead Seekers make their first appearance in this same issue, and their Cybertronian flight modes appear very similar to their Earth jet forms (if not completely identical), and completely ''different'' from the craft which are referred to as hunter-seekers. The only real connection between the hunter-seekers we were shown and the "Seekers" is that there's more than one of them and they fly.
