:Prowl is an Autobot in the Transformers Animated continuity family.

Some people are team players, and some...well, aren't. Prowl falls into the latter category. A loner at heart, he has no interest in teamwork, something Optimus Prime finds extremely frustrating. Added to that is his personality conflict with the fun-loving Bumblebee. All in all, not the most sociable guy in the world.

Still, he's not without his redeeming features. He has a deep, deep fascination with organic lifeforms. In fact, he seems to have a deeper appreciation of them than those who grew up with them. The phrase "stop and smell the roses" is a life truth for Prowl, and he can spend hours motionless, watching the world play out around him.

:Voice actor: Jeff Bennett (US), ? (Japan)
Prowl showed a lack of interest in both teamwork (as a loner type) and in the motivational (kinda long-winded) speeches of Optimus Prime. He did not obey orders at first and learned of the consequences firsthand as he was nearly killed by a nanite-enhanced cockroach. After his revival at the hands of Sari and her Allspark-empowered key, he showed that he had become a valuable team player when he headed out with Bumblebee and Sari to save Professor Sumdac and Captain Fanzone.Transform and Roll Out!

Home Is Where the Spark Is
Later, Prowl is watching a cat stalk a bird. He finds it fascinating, but is aggravated when he's interrupted by human fans. Returning to base he hides out in his Japanese themed room, only to be interrupted by Prime and Bumblebee. Even worse, Sari throws a slumber party and Prowl is pushed to the edge by the commotion. Ironically, when Megatron took over the factory, Prowl was able to show Bumblebee the value of stillness in battle, something the pair would work on later in a game of twister.Home Is Where the Spark Is

Abilities and Powers
Prowl's primary strengths are his agility, stealth, and speed. He uses an array of throwing weapons, such as cutting discs, that he can throw with high accuracy. These Disks, unfortunatly, usually end up just bouncing off their targets intead of doing any real damage. In his room, a collection of samurai swords can be seen in the background. He is able to use any object as a weapon. He's also the only Autobot with a jetpack, granting him limited flight.

*Prowl (Deluxe, 2008)

: Prowl transforms into a police motorcycle of made-up model. His removable hubcaps turn into three-bladed shuriken. He comes with a traffic light with a chain attached to it, which functions as a weapon (see Abilities and Powers).

Summary
Rhinox tracks the transwarp wave (not to be confused with the Transmetal-inducing quantum surge from "Aftermath") released by the destruction of the alien superweapon, announcing it will arrive at Cybertron in a few hours, and that the Maximals are going home.

Megatron also sees that the transwarp wave is on its way to Cybertron. After learning that his attack on the early humans caused them to scatter, making their extinction an impossibility, he decides to implement one final plan. He calls up his security cameras, showing Blackarachnia leaving the Darkside.

Silverbolt flies to a secluded location where he meets up with Blackarachnia, handing her some sort of gadget (which is later revealed to be a levitation device of some kind) and he once again offers her a spot in the Maximal ranks. She refuses, but grabs Silverbolt and obviously some sort of robot lovin' goes down.

In the future, a Cybertronian outpost receives the transwarp wave quite violently. The Tripredacus Council convenes and destroys a satellite to make sure the Maximal sensors don't detect the wave. They decide to send an operative to find and capture Megatron, the rogue Predacon who stole the Golden Disk from the Maximals.

Back at the Axalon, the Maximals get ready for Megatron's inevitable final attack on their base. Waspinator and Inferno ready some attack systems, but Rampage decides to take the more direct approach and assaults Sentinel's shields with his weapons. The battle begins, and the Predacons appear to be winning until reinforcements come from above. Megatron orders a retreat, and the invisible source of the Maximals' help lands.

The Axalons hatch opens and Silverbolt's super doggie nose smells something. All the Maximals draw their weapons as two red lasers appear out of nowhere from the hatch. Optimus Primal finally realizes that their reinforcements came in the form of a Decepticon who after the Great War was granted amnesty and rebuilt as a Predacon&mdash;Ravage.

Shots are fired, knocking all of the Maximals' weapons out of their hands. Ravage apologizes, and introduces himself as "Covert Agent Ravage, at your service." He lies about the transwarp wave, saying that it was too weak for anything but the Predacon sensors to detect.

At the Darkside, Blackarachnia finishes work on a flying stasis pod with Silverbolt's device. Her celebration is cut short, however, when Megatron calls for her. Megatron correctly anticipates a Maximal retaliation, and sends everyone but Waspinator to fortify the base. Waspinator, he sends on a "secret mission", which Blackarachnia takes special note of.

Ravage's transwarp cruiser takes off from the Axalon with the Maximals onboard. This sets off alarms in Tarantulas' lair, and in his only appearance in the episode, he takes off. The battle at the Darkside begins. Silverbolt ignores Optimus' orders to kill Blackarachnia, who takes off towards Waspinator's secret location.

Ravage begins firing upon the Darkside. Megatron attempts to retreat, but suddenly is binded to his chair with energy rings. Ravage, Optimus, Rattrap, and Rhinox walk in, and Ravage places Megatron under arrest. Are the Beast Wars over? Of course not, what do you think "Part 1" means? That's why its to be continued.
Original Air Date: March 11, 1998 (Cartoon Network Preview); May 9, 1998 (Regular Syndication)

Notes
Trivia
*In the opening shot, parts of Optimus Primal pre-transmetal fly at the screen.
*Ravage arrests Megatron in the name of the "Pax Cybertronia". This is a reference to the Pax Romana.
*The Tripredacus Council shown at the beginning of the episode were meant to be the Tripredacus gestalt toy, and were even referred to by their individual names in the original script. However, time constraints prevented the renders for the figures to exactly match the toys they were based on, so Hasbro asked that their individual names not be referred to, though the gestalt name was still used for the group.

Quotes
* Silverbolt is just back from "visiting" Blackarachnia
Rattrap: So, uh, Where ya' been, bird-dog?
Silverbolt: Uh, scout patrol...
Rattrap: Oh, yeah, yeah! Scotin' the ememy, Heh heh. So... , find any now positions?
* Cheetor: What do you think it is, Big Bot?<br>Optimus Primal: Not what...but who. After the Great War, a few Decepticons were granted amnesty. Most have retired. But rumor has it that one was reprogrammed and rebuilt - as a Predacon!
* In the name of the Pax Cybertronia and the Predacon Alliance, you are under arrest.<br>- Ravage, upon apprehending Megatron
Transformers References
*The entire three-part season finale, The Agenda, is a reference to the original G1 cartoon. In this part, Ravage, the rebuilt Decepticon, is dispatched to the Maximals to assist them in capturing Megatron (who the Predacons see as a dangerous rebel as well, not knowing his true motives, which are revealed in the third part.) Ravage was one of the original cassette-robots to serve under Soundwave.
Real-World References
*Six Lasers Over Cybertron, which Cheetor gets excited about, is a reference to Six Flags over various states.
*Rattrap speaks of places in Cybertron where the serverbots walk around "minus their torso plates" and then does sort of a "wink wink, nudge nudge" toward Silverbolt. He's referencing strip clubs, of course.
*"Rampage, position yourself in Subsector Hooks", spoken by Megatron, is a reference to fan Hooks.
Chainclaw was due to make a delivery to Optimus Prime, but was attacked and had his cargo stolen by Doubledealer. Of course, Doubledealer being Doubledealer, it was all part of an elaborate con (or as elaborate as one can get in a five-page story).

In an alternate timeline, Chainclaw was one of seven Autobots remaining in the Western Hemisphere in 2009, which had been overrun by the Decepticons. He, Getaway and Guzzle took on Cyclonus and Scourge in order to keep them away from the other team while they accomplished their mission. Chainclaw got the drop on Cyclonus and likely would have killed him, if not for the intervention of Galvatron, who destroyed Chainclaw with a single shot.

Of course, Galvatron then killed Cyclonus for being weak, so if Chainclaw weren't dead, he'd probably feel better about the outcome.
Synopsis
spoiler

Magmatron, shifted out of existence, monitors reality as a chronal ghost. Able to access and witness all of time but interact with nothing.

In prehistoric times, on earth, Razorbeast, Prowl, and Wolfang consider their place on Earth, fighting Ravage, unsure if there's any chance of rescue.

Elsewhere, Grimlock gets into a battle with Retrax and Manterror, but the fight is just a diversion to draw Grimlock away from Razorbeast's Maximal base. Retrax detonates some explosives that signal the start to a large battle between the two armies.

While Torca kicks tons of ass outside, Ravage sneaks inside of the Maximal base, to access the hardware that would allow himself to shift his place in time so that he might interact with Optimus Primal and Megatron's fight. Razorbeast stops Ravage and deduces from the desperation of the Predacon attack that Primal is close to winning conclusively. While Ravage explains, confirming the news and his intentions, Snarl slips into position to blast Ravage away from Razorbeast. The two Maximals knock the Predacon leader out.

Magmatron, watching the universe move forward, brings his attention back to the transwarp signal sent by the Maximals to request help from Cybertron. Although he's unable to interact with the physical world, he uses his temp oral presence to escort the transwarp radio message though space to arrive at it's intended destination. With his aid, the signal reaches Lio Convoy on Cybertron. The Prime decides to aid his agent on Earth.

In another location, perhaps another time, Shokaract lives.
Synopsis

Manta Ray turns into a manta ray. Amazingly, the name's already taken.

He's a Predacon Ocean Soldier. In the water, he's invincible, but on the shore, he's far less mobile. Shocking!
He makes a very breif appearence in a group scene during the Predacon's attack. It is unknown if he will appear again.

: Manta Ray transforms into... well, a manta ray. He was one of four McDonald's Happy Meal boys' toy premiums in the very first Beast Wars promotion.

Trivia
* Manta Ray's Japanese name and brief character write-up come from a Japanese Beast Wars guidebook called the Beast Wars Perfect Book.
Synopsis

Synopsis

Synopsis

Transformers Animated is the next television-supported Transformers franchise, due to start in the January of 2008 with a 3-episode mini-movie.

The cartoon is produced by Cartoon Network, scripted in the West, character design and production by people who worked on shows like Teen Titans and Ben10, while animation is being provided by Japanese studio Mook.

The series will serve to focus less on the war between the Autobots and the Decepticons, with many of the threats also coming from human villains.
Toyline
First previewed in Hasbro's pannel at Botcon 2007.

The Transformers animated toyline successfully merges the more fluid, expressive design style of the cartoon with extremely poseable robot forms (to a degree even Hasbro seemed pleasently surprised by). Unlike the most recent franchises before it there is no line-wide gimick (such as Minicons or Cyberplanet keys) rather transforming IS the gimick (WHAT???!), and toys will have other special features that are unique and appropriate to the character they depict. Though the designs have originated with Hasbro and Cartoon Network, Takaratomy is stepping up to the plate once again ot design the toys.

The toyline is currently schedualed to debute ~March 2008 with a special "battle pack" featuring several figures. The full toyline will debute sometime a few months after that.

Scavenger
:Scavenger is an Autobot in the Armada portion of the Unicron Trilogy continuity family.

A former instructor at Cybertron's top military academy, Scavenger sets the bar high. It was his (and Landmine's) strict training regimen for the now-legendary Autobot leader Optimus Prime that has pushed the Autobots to countless victories. Not easily impressed, Scavenger despises cockiness and values only true skill. Like Optimus Prime, he sees potential in young Hot Shot. Hot Shot's hotheaded and cocksure, especially now that he wields the Star Saber sword. Scavenger sees this as a problem.

But it's nothing that can't be beaten out of him.

Japanese name: Devastar

Fiction
Animated continuity
Voice actor: Ward Perry (USA), Keiji Fujiwara (Japan)

Scavenger was hired by Megatron for his skills as a mercenary and a bounty hunter for Mini-Cons, due to the troubles Megatron was having with the troops under his command. Scavenger claimed that at first he did not know whether to accept the contract or not, until he saw the sorry state of the Decepticons after their defeat at the hands of Hot Shot and the Star Saber. His mocking lack respect or fear for Megatron intimidated the other Decepticons, as well as earning Starscream's hatred.

His first appearance on Earth was during an observation of a battle between Starscream and Hot Shot. Noting that Hot Shot only won because the Star Saber sensed its wielder's inexperience, Scavenger challenged the younger Autobot and soundly beat him, despite suffering a serious wound. Overmatch

Later, it was revealed that Scavenger was in fact an Autobot spy working on the behalf of Optimus Prime. After locating Rollbar, he set his goal on misleading the Decepticons. It is unclear how long Scavenger posed as a Decepticon, but Megatron takes note of his "legacy" in deciding to trust him.

Scavenger performed his spy duties so well, that he surprised most of the Autobots when he turned over an important member of the Skyboom shield to Megatron. Scavenger continued to serve Megatron until abruptly turning on them and aiding Optimus Prime. Scavenger revealed his past with Prime as a teacher and fellow soldier before taking Hot Shot under his wing. Scavenger believes in hard work, but is also prone to bouts of laziness.

He served with the Autobots until the end of the Unicron Battles.

: Scavenger transformers into a large green bulldozer. Unusually for Transformers of this era, he features functional rubber treads. Rollbar (in robot mode) can be placed inside the driver's cabin, and pressing down on the Mini-Con activates engine start up and revving sounds. Pushing Scavenger forward will cause the large purple drum wheel at the back to rotate, making driving sounds.

: In robot mode, Scavenger unusually has no leg articulation whatsoever. His 'legs' are halves of the shovel blade clipped onto the purple drum wheel. Pushing Scavenger forwards in robot mode rotates the wheel, moving the legs up and down in a simulation of walking. Each 'step' is accompanying by a stomp sound effect. Moving his arms up and down activates a crashing metal sound effect. Powerlinking Rollbar to the active Powerlinx port on his hip, then pulling it back fires a purple projectile, as well as activating a laser firing sound.

He was released before the episode that revealed his true allegence was aired. Thanks for spoiling it for us, jerk!
Downshift was a rookie solder sent into the rift, along with his partner Cliffjumper, to locate Optimus Prime and his scattered crew. Characteristically gruff and headstrong. Cliffjumper and Downshift were both pupils of the teacher Bulkhead, and of the two, Downshift is easily the more irritated by Bulkhead's infectious laughter.

Confusingly, he is also known as Cliffjumper.

Fun Publications Cybertron comics
After the evacuation of Cybertron due to the threat of the Unicron Singularity, some soldiers chose to stay behind. Downshift was one of these brave souls, and he guarded the tunnels leading to the inner workings of Cybertron. While on duty, Downshift was attacked by the agent Nemesis Prime and impaled to a wall by one of his harpoon missiles. After these grave injuries, Downshift was repaired and reformatted by a worker drone into a new muscle car form.

During Downshift's maturation between the Powerlinx Battles and the arrival of the Unicron Singularity, Hot Shot has become his new mentor. Eventually, Downshift becomes a civilian on Earth, living with his unnamed life partner in Rhode Island.
: Downshift transforms into white rally-deco sports car of undetermined (possibly fictional) model with red and green stripes. He has a pair of clear-plastic guns, one a spring-loaded missile launcher, one non-firing. These can be hand-held or attached to Downshift in various ways in both modes. He can also form the top or bottom half of any silver or bronze "Powerlinx" combiner.

: For his Takara releases, the pale-olive plastic of his robot parts was replaced with a medium silver.

: Downshift's deco and sculpt is a clear homage to the Generation 1 Autobot Wheeljack. His robot mode has Wheeljack's head, a simulated car roof on his chest, and even the "Lancia" grill-feet.

: Downshift was first released as part of the final wave of "normal" Energon black-backed cards, a shipment that appears to have been very brief, mostly showing up in Kohl's department stores and Canada. This naturally caused a panic. He was later released in much greater numbers in the "Powerlinx Battles" packaging.
Hoever, his robot mode was almost totally unchanged, save yellow plastic replacing the pale-olive.
: A Kay-Bee stores exclusive alongside Snow Cat, the pair were released during a time when Kay-Bee was having great financial difficulty, closing multiple stores nationwide. : Cybertron Downshift is a green sports 1971 Plymouth Hemi Barracuda car with styling heavily influenced by the Chrysler pony cars from 1970 through 1974. The car features a black hood and a texturing like vinyl roof applications from the 1960's and 70's. Inserting a Cyber Planet Key into a flip-up slot in his rear window activates a claw from the car's grill. This feature is also available in robot mode. He comes with two large spring-loaded missile launchers, which can be mounted on his side-panels in car mode, or be used in robot mode as handhled blasters or moutned on his shoulders.

: While Downshift's Wheeljack-modelled head in this form is not surprising, he still retains his Lancia-grill feet. Funky.
Trivia
* As referenced above, the Energon cartoon constantly switched Cliffjumper and Downshift's names around. More often, the white robot would end up being called Cliffjumper, in defiance of the toy names. It also seemed as if the two characters randomly switched voice actors from episode to episode.
:Overhaul is an Autobot from the Cybertron portion of the Unicron Trilogy. Upon recieving a new body, he took the name Leobreaker.

Overhaul is an elder Autobot warrior, having fought alongside Optimus Prime during the Unicron Battles and Powerlinx Battles, and likely before that, as well. He is gruff and oftentimes confrontational, but exceptionally loyal to the Autobot cause. He says he prefers to work alone, but knows deep down the value of friendship and teamwork.

As Leobreaker, his gung-ho attitude is heavily amplified, but he's no longer so independent-minded. He's become fast friends with Snarl of the Jungle Planet, and has even gained his own personal Mini-Con attendants. He's even taken a shining to Earth team sports like baseball, possibly as a replacement for war. This new focus on teamwork does have its downside; he harbors a litlte bit of resentment that his "Savage Claw Mode" combination with Optimus might not be as strong as the "Sonic Wing Mode" the Autobot leader can form with Wing Saber.
During a battle for the Cyber Planet Keys with the Decepticons, Optimus Prime intended to send Overhaul and Landmine to the Jungle Planet. However, an attack by the Decepticons disrupted Vector Prime's gateway portal and Overhaul was left on Jungle Planet alone. There he became embroiled in the power struggle between Snarl, Snarl's mentor Backstop, and the Jungle Planet's brutal tyrant Scourge.

He trained hard, but could not best Scourge at single combat even after building up a tolerance to his flame breath. He sought training from Backstop and Snarl, and eventually invoked the spirit of the world, finding himself transformed into the mega-feline Leobreaker.
Trivia
* The original plans for Leobreaker involved a more coherent Savage Claw Mode arm design, complete with fingers and thumbs. But a variety of factors resulted in the simplified form, including rising petroleum prices.

* Additionally, one of the early prototypes featured a faux-SUV chest for Leobreaker, probably to link him more closely to his first body. Like the previously-listed changes, this was likely removed to lower the production cost -- or possibly it was discarded for other reasons.

* The television CGI model of Leobreaker used during the combiner sequence animation, as well as the representation of the combined arm mode is based upon a modified version of one of the original prototypes of Leobreaker, who, as mentioned above, had a much more complex and believable 'arm-mode'.

* Originally, Overhaul was going to be called Trailbreaker, in reference to the Generation 1 character of the same name. However, the trademark could not be secured for this, resulting in the name-change.

* In a related tidbit, the original naming idea was apparently to go from Trailbreaker to Leobreaker. When they couldn't get Trailbreaker, it seems Hasbro considered naming Overhaul's lion form Overcast, as that name is listed as Leobreaker's American name in the Galaxy Force Phase Ignition guidebook. However, they ultimately kept the name Leobreaker.
