:Primal Prime is a Maximal from the Beast Machines era of the Generation 1 continuity family.

Primal Prime is, essentially, the Living Matrix. Born from the Vok's fusion of their knowledge, detritus left aboard the Ark, and the Matrix of Leadership, Primal Prime possesses great power and understanding. However, he is still technically a newborn, whose memories are faint shadows of those long departed. He worries that he is too detached, too gullible, to lead his troops sufficiently. These crushing doubts are seemingly his only weakness.

Fiction
Primeval Dawn comics
Set sometime after the Beast Wars, Primeval Dawn picks up where the show left off leading into Beast Machines. The Vok, sensing a great enemy was coming, dispatched Tigerhawk’s binary spark, which would later split into Transmetal Tigatron and Transmetal Airrazor, and traveled to earth themselves to create a new emissary. The Vok, utilizing the Optimal Optimus control suit, the Transmetal Driver, and the Matrix of Leadership hidden within Optimus Prime created Primal Prime; a new hero with whom the Matrix, itself, would provide his spark, his wisdom, and his power to lead a new group of heroes against evil. Departure Primal Prime met up with the newly created Tigatron and Airrazor and told them of how he knew darkness would be coming and that he would be responsible for it. Nevertheless, the Maximals still decided to follow Primal Prime and went in search of more comrades to help their cause.

Primal Prime carried the Matrix of Leadership into battle with Tarantulas, whom was still alive and empowered by the Vok who were though to have caused his demise, and his dark minions on earth. In a seemingly one-sided battle Tarantulas torn open Primal Prime’s chest and removed the matrix gloating about the beginning of the End of Days. The reason for Primal Prime's swift defeat being not only Tarantulas’ new supreme power but also the fact that, according to Airrazor, when the Vok had chosen to isolate the Matrix in a champion of their own creation they had dissolved the primal forces that bound it to a leader-born having exposed it. Betrayal

Having had the Matrix forcibly removed caused Primal Prime to go into a kind of limbo with the only explanation that the Maximals could come up with was that the removal of the Matrix “possibly” burned out his primary cy-napse response network. While in limbo, Primal Prime communed with the Vok who explained to him that they were “of the source, of the core, forever committed to the safeguard of The Plan.” However, they were not always that way and went on to explain that, through cryptic metaphors, the Vok had once been the Swarm and that they existed only to destroy until purified by the light of the Matrix. The Vok then went on to merge with Primal Prime using him as a vessel to become a pure font of energy to rival the Matrix itself. The newly Vok-empowered Primal Prime emerged behind Tigatron and prepared to go into battle. Disclosure
Downshift was a rookie solder sent into the rift, along with his partner Cliffjumper, to locate Optimus Prime and his scattered crew. Characteristically gruff and headstrong. Cliffjumper and Downshift were both pupils of the teacher Bulkhead, and of the two, Downshift is easily the more irritated by Bulkhead's infectious laughter.
After the evacuation of Cybertron due to the threat of the Unicron Singularity, some soldiers chose to stay behind. Downshift was one of these brave souls, and he guarded the tunnels leading to the inner workings of Cybertron. While on duty, Downshift was attacked by the agent Nemesis Prime and impaled to a wall by one of his harpoon missiles. After these grave injuries, Downshift was repaired and reformatted by a worker drone into a new muscle car form.
He can also form the top or bottom half of any silver or bronze "Powerlinx" combiner.
: For his Takara releases, the pale-olive plastic of his robot parts was replaced with a medium silver.

: Downshift's deco and sculpt is a clear homage to the Generation 1 Autobot Wheeljack. His robot mode has Wheeljack's head, a simulated car roof on his chest, and even the "Lancia" grill-feet.

: Downshift was first released as part of the final wave of "normal" Energon black-backed cards, a shipment that appears to have been very brief, mostly showing up in Kohl's department stores and Canada. The car features a black hood and a texturing like vinyl roof applications from the 1960's and 70's. Inserting a Cyber Planet Key into a flip-up slot in his rear window activates a claw from the car's grill. This feature is also available in robot mode. He comes with two large spring-loaded missile launchers, which can be mounted on his side-panels in car mode, or be used in robot mode as handhled blasters or moutned on his shoulders.

Overhaul is an elder Autobot warrior, having fought alongside Optimus Prime during the Unicron Battles and Powerlinx Battles, and likely before that, as well. He is gruff and oftentimes confrontational, but exceptionally loyal to the Autobot cause. He says he prefers to work alone, but knows deep down the value of friendship and teamwork.

As Leobreaker, his gung-ho attitude is heavily amplified, but he's no longer so independent-minded. He's become fast friends with Snarl of the Jungle Planet, and has even gained his own personal Mini-Con attendants. He's even taken a shining to Earth team sports like baseball, possibly as a replacement for war. This new focus on teamwork does have its downside; he harbors a litlte bit of resentment that his "Savage Claw Mode" combination with Optimus might not be as strong as the "Sonic Wing Mode" the Autobot leader can form with Wing Saber.
However, an attack by the Decepticons disrupted Vector Prime's gateway portal and Overhaul was left on Jungle Planet alone. * The original plans for Leobreaker involved a more coherent Savage Claw Mode arm design, complete with fingers and thumbs. But a variety of factors resulted in the simplified form, including rising petroleum prices.

* The television CGI model of Leobreaker used during the combiner sequence animation, as well as the representation of the combined arm mode is based upon a modified version of one of the original prototypes of Leobreaker, who, as mentioned above, had a much more complex and believable 'arm-mode'.

* Originally, Overhaul was going to be called Trailbreaker, in reference to the Generation 1 character of the same name. However, the trademark could not be secured for this, resulting in the name-change.

* In a related tidbit, the original naming idea was apparently to go from Trailbreaker to Leobreaker. When they couldn't get Trailbreaker, it seems Hasbro considered naming Overhaul's lion form Overcast, as that name is listed as Leobreaker's American name in the Galaxy Force Phase Ignition guidebook. However, they ultimately kept the name Leobreaker.

Cybershark is a skilled tracker and expert in undersea combat. Though not particularly bright in a general sense he can be quite calculating when it comes to tracking down his prey, and is a fearless, battle-hungry fighter. He honed his skills as a Bounty Hunter tracking down a rogue group of Cybertronian Space Pirates. Though dedicated to the Maximal cause, Cybershark is not a team player, ironicly this often puts him at odds with his commander, the likewise independent Depth Charge.
Cybershark was one of the protoforms left behind by the crew of the Axalon on prehistoric Earth. He was activated and put in chronal phase by Razorbeast at Magmatron's request, but was protected from Magmatron's Predacon shell-program by a viral code Razorbeast inserted. Coming online in his original (non-Transmetal-2) form in the middle of the ocean, he was one of the first Maximals to hear Razorbeast's signal.

He is later seen swiming through a narrow strait with fellow sea-bound Maximal Claw Jaw.
3H Universe Comics
Sharkticons based on Hammerstrike's design appear alongside the traditional Quintesson Sharkticon designs from Generation 1. However, their coloration was originally intended to be different from the Hammerstrike toy's to avoid confusion; the "director's cut" reprint of the relevant issue fixes this, giving them a black and purple color scheme.

Toys
Beast Wars
Cybershark began the Beast Wars transforming into a hammerhead shark. When a trigger on his back is pushed the top "hammer" part of the head fires like a missile. He also has a spring-loaded "switchblade" in his tail.
This mold was retooled to make Hellscream, Overbite, and Sharpedge.

When he was transformed into a Transmetal 2, his meched-out shark mode became more like a classic great white, and he gained a flight mode. His tail has a gear-system that spins the fins like a propeller when a wheel in his side is turned (this systm becomes his right arm, forming a spinning claw weapon). He also has a double spring-loaded missile launcher concealed in his shark mouth that doubles as a hand-weapon.

This mold was redecoed into Sky-Byte.

Beast Machines
Hammerstrike transforms into a technorganic hammerhead with a very odd, alien, spindly looking robot mode. The front, hammerhead part of his toy becomes a weapon that seems to have some sort of jackhammer like attack, as the front slams forward when triggered by pressing down on the spark crystal.
If there are two guys with the same name, from the same continuity, of the same faction, then use subgroups as dividers. :: As a side note, Hoop, we've been treating Cybertron Skywarp and Thundercracker as their Armada entities. ==Cybertron* words==

I'd like to bring up, in a less hostile environment, the Cybertron/Cybertronic/Cybertronian/Cybertronix discussion again. This is my preference originally, because we do have separate words to cover the four different definitions at hand, and I think encouraging people to use them within the confines of this wiki would be a productive thing to do, since it would introduce consistency and help eliminate ambiguity or confusion. Clearly using "Cybertronian" as a generic adjective isn't wrong. It shows up endlessly in the fiction, significantly more than "Cybertronic" does. But "Cybertronic" has no other defintion, whereas "Cybertronian" also means "those guys from G2". I grant that "Cybertron" as a name for a member of the race is the same as the name of the planet, and consequently I have the least strong feelings about it. But "Cybertronic" is, in my opinion, a very useful word. Therefore, I stand behind the suggestion that we come up with a consistent way to use "Cybertron*" words on this site, even though I don't think it was originally brought up in an appropriate way. -LV 20:22, 5 April 2006 (UTC)

I also find it pretty strange to suggest that NOT distinguishing all these words is less confusing than doing so - how can this possibly be? Is anyone reading that someone is made of a Cybertronic alloy going to be incapable of comprehending what that means? -LV 13:24, 5 April 2006 (PDT)
:I don't have anything to add to this but a general agreement with LV here. --M Sipher

:Therefore, I stand behind the suggestion that we come up with a consistent way to use "Cybertron*" words on this site

:By what process do you suggest we pick these usages? My knowledge of the canon is a lot less detailed than yours, so, maybe you're remembering things I'm not, but I can't imagine any basis for deciding that a particular variant of the word is going to mean one thing and not another thing. In my mind, Cybertronian and Cybertronic are both completely generic descriptors with no distinguishing uses aside from Cybertronian having been applied to Jhiaxus' forces in addition to its myriad generic uses.

:I feel like any definitions we come up with would be totally arbitrary and not obvious to most readers of the Wiki. (That is, assuming that the Wiki ever amasses readers besides the dozen or so of us who are working on it.)

:I'm not saying that I think it's impossible or that I am against have precise definitions. I just don't know that there is a good way of making those decisions, and that even if we make them, most people probably won't know them. I think it would be less confusing to just use both words as generic because that is the way the fandom already uses them.

:--Steve-o 23:13, 5 April 2006 (UTC)

:I am not remembering anything you are not and make no claims that this would not be an arbitrary decision. My feeling is that it is an arbitrary decision which would improve clarity while not having any disadvantages. I would assume most people, when encountering "Cybertronic" or "Cybertronian", are not going to be totally at a loss as to what the terms mean. I am not necessarily even saying that people should go back over submitted entries and change them. I meerely think it is worth stating in the style guide, if anyone reads it, that we have generally agreed upon certain uses of words to avoid ambiguity. Clearly I feel this is a bigger issue than most of the contributors, from this and the other Talk page, on the subject. I think the way in which this is manifesting itself is that you can see no strong benefit to agreeing on usages, whereas I can see no strong detriments. -LV 23:22, 5 April 2006 (UTC)

:the disadvantage I see is that you're making an arbitrary decision to impose one set meaning on a term that appears freely in the cannon with multiple meanings. That's fine and good for Wikipedia, but wouldnt' that be confusing to take that context back into watching episodes/discussions?
:I just picture flamewars- "Don't yell at me, I'm using the words the RIGHT way." "You're using them a made-up and arbitrary way! And that's not what Megatrons aid in Episode 54..."
:If you really see a need to clearly deliniate the relationship between Transformer/Cybertron Resident/Cybertroneque/endemic to Cybertron, then damnit, pick/invent a naming system. If you're trying to make matters clear and easy, you don't pick tersm that already have other meanings, often MULTIPLE other meanings. That's the opposite of clear and easy, it's practically obfuscating. -Derik 00:27, 6 April 2006 (UTC)

:I disagree for the reasons I have already stated. -LV 17:32, 5 April 2006 (PDT)

:I gotta agree with LV still. I DON'T see a downside with keeping a consistant terminology, one that's hardly confusing and has precedent. We have a perfectly suitable, canon term for "something originating from Cybertron in nature or design" that DOES NOT have a second meaning, as, say "Cybertronian" does. Suggesting that using "Cybertronic" rather than "Cybertronian" to describe "something originating from Cybertron in nature or design" seems perfectly reasonable, logical, and above all prevents confusion with the G2 Leige Maximo's dudes. -- M Sipher

I disagree that it is "hardly confusing", Siph. I find the very notion of doing this at all to be confusing. Both words have widespread use to mean "from Cybertron". In my experience, the word you are suggesting changing the usage of -- Cybertronian -- is in far greater use than the one you are suggesting we leave alone. (Googling for "transformers" and "cybertronic" returns less than a thousand hits, while "transformers" and "cybertronian" returns over 56 thousand, which I would say supports me on that point.) As well as Cybertronian being a far more common word than Cybertronic when one wants to say "from Cybertron", the "from Cybertron" meaning for the word is also far more common than the "G2 dudes" meaning is. Cybertronian means "from Cybertron". That is its main, most prominent meaning.

I will concede that if a group of people make an agreement to use a particular word to mean a particular thing, that it will eliminate ambiguity when talking amongst themselves. But, that's only useful if everybody knows the definition being used and, further, likes that definition. I am pretty confident that the vast majority of fans think of the terms as interchangeable. I will also concede that the meaning of "Cybertronic" is obvious. However, boosting usage of it would just make people wonder why we're using it instead of "Cybertronian"... the meaning of which is also obvious, unless one is using it in the meaning that you are suggesting we use it in exclusively.

LV's initial post led me to believe that there wasn't already a specific set of definitions in mind. I was willing to entertain suggestions. If this is the suggestion, though -- "Cybertronian" = G2 Guys, "Cybertronic" = from Cybertron -- I object pretty strongly. Any guideline that states or even implies that "Cybertronian" should not be used in the "from Cybertron" sense is totally unacceptable to me. That runs counter to decades of in-canon and fan usage.

If I am misinterpreting the suggestions, please correct me.

--Steve-o 19:45, 5 April 2006 (PDT)
I am suggesting exactly what you think, I totally disagree with your contention, and I do not care enough about the matter to continue to press it. -LV 02:52, 6 April 2006 (UTC)

Re-read it.<br>
Clearly using "Cybertronian" as a generic adjective isn't wrong. It shows up endlessly in the fiction, significantly more than "Cybertronic" does. But "Cybertronic" has no other defintion, whereas "Cybertronian" also means "those guys from G2".<br>
I am not necessarily even saying that people should go back over submitted entries and change them. I meerely think it is worth stating in the style guide, if anyone reads it, that we have generally agreed upon certain uses of words to avoid ambiguity.<br>
NOBODY, NO-BODY, is saying that "Cybertronian" does not mean "from Cybertron" canonically. The SUGGESTION is simply that to help avoid confusion with the G2 Cybertronians, people generally make use in the future of the OTHER canon "from Cybertron" adjective that HAS no other canonical definition in future entries. I can't for the life of me understand the objection to the suggestion that we encourage -not ENFORCE- the use of another CANON term.<br>
And frankly, "fan-usage" doesn't swing much weight, I'm afraid. Think "Minelba".
Citation of Sources
For whatever it's worth, I wanted to voice some strong support for the notion of citing sources. We should be as exhaustive about where we're finding our information as possible. There are a surprisingly large number of instances where there are plot points or characters that have entries of their own, but I have no idea where they're coming from. If it's a comic book, issue number, publisher, title and country of origin should be the bare minimum. Likewise with all other items. I'm not suggesting we create an instance of every time Optimus Prime has occured within all of the continuties. We as a project should be interested in providing enough information that point readers in the right direction for further reference.

A perfect For-Instance would be the Fixer Bug entry. I have no idea what a Fixer Bug is. From the entry, I can determine it has something to do with the Minicons, but appearance data is completely absent. There's an image on the page, but there's absolutely no data about where this image came from. My point is that specific information should be heartily encouraged, if not required. Perhaps we can develop a flag or category (unsure of what technologically we could do) for entries that are wanting for this sort of information.

A perfectly fine example exists in the entry on U.S. 1. It's an obscure reference, but the information on the page is enough to let the reader know where to go for further information, and where within the Transformers' continuities this particular bit of ephemera falls. It can be as simple as that. I think that should be a minimum requirement.
Rhinox is a Renaissance Bot. Intelligent, massive, strong, and stalwart, there are few Maximals one could depend on more. Rhinox is of a rare breed -- he's incredibly tech savvy, but mystically-inclined... without coming off as a burnt-out technohippie. He's quick and decisive in a crisis, with spectacular results, but is slow and steady. He loves to sniff the flowers. A behind-the-scenes charismatic and an on-his-feet strategist, he could lead the Maximals if he wanted to, but he doesn't.

If he sounds too good to be true, it's because he just might be. At times he can be borderline obsessive and single-minded. The Maximals are glad he's on their side, because if he ever had a change of heart, woe be to them. No, woe be to the galaxy.
Rampage (also known as Protoform X) is an awesomely powerful (and incredibly brutal) Predacon, easily among the most fearsome from the entire Beast Wars.
Voice Actor: Campbell Lane (US);??? (Japan)

Rampage was created by a Maximal experiment to recreate Starscream's mutant, immortal Spark. Though argueably successful in this regard, the creation (then called Protoform X) was unstable. Point in fact, he was criminally insane. He destroyed Colony Omicron, killing all of its inhabitants save a lone security officer, Depth Charge, who would eventually track him down and capture him. Afterwards, the Maximal Elders had him placed into a stasis pod aboard an exploration vessel, the Axalon. They instructed its commander, Optimus Primal, to dump him on some barren word in deep space.

Rampage was in one of the several Stasis Pods jettisoned by Optimus when the Axalon was damaged by Megatron's Predacons, and only fell out of orbit far into the Beast Wars. Battle near his stasic pod shocked Rampage into activation, and he promptly set out to terrorize all nearby Transformers. After being defeated, Megatron discovered the unconscious Rampage and (using a blade of pure Energon, the only thing which can damage Rampage) removed a portion of his indestructible Spark. Megatron placed his portion of Rampage's spark in a special cage lined with Energon crystals, which allowed him to torture him whenever Megs desired, thereby forcing Rampage to swear fealty.

Later, Depth Charge arrived on the prehistoric Earth with the single-minded goal of destroying Rampage. They met in battle numerous times, fairly evenly matched. In their final battle, Depth Charge managed to ram a large Energon Crystal into Rampage's exposed spark, but only with Rampage's permission, while laughing maniacally, resulting in an explosion powerful enough to destroy both Transformers.
It's not so much that Rattrap is a coward... he just doesn't want to die. He's seen enough battles to know the score, so he's not afraid to tell his commanding officer to shove it if he's not fond of the odds. He prefers to sneak around unseen, in gutters or trenches or trash barges or what have you -- whatever keeps him out of harm's way. He shouldn't be so worried. When he does encounter conflict, he deals with it masterfully with the arsenal of guns and bombs he keeps on himself at all times. He feels naked without them.

It's hard to like Rattrap, especially if you're his commanding officer. He's sarcastic, irreverent, and rude. Plus he smells. He's also not the most trusting or forgiving sort, so he's not the best choice to take on a diplomatic run.
Her stasis pod damaged upon crashing to Earth, Airazor was able to come online due to the genius of Rhinox and the bravery of Cheetor. Rhinox deftly opperated the stasis pod's controls and Cheetor offered up his own components to repair it. Her aerial beast mode made her the only Maximal other than Optimus who could fly during Season 1 of the cartoon. She and Tigatron started to team up more frequently during the first season, leading to them going off together to find the rest of the missing stasis pods after the destruction of the Planet Buster.

While on their search, the two Maximals discovered another Vok site and were absorbed and shot into space by the giant plant that formed after the site was triggered. The two were kept in a form of stasis until the episode "Other Victories", when they were merged together in the powerful being Tigerhawk. Tigerhawk returned to Earth as the emissary of the Vok to stop the deteriation that the Beast Wars was causing to the timestream.

After Tarantulas removed the Vok's influence from Tigerhawk's frame (and absorbed it into himself), Airazor and Tigatron's sparks inhabited Tigerhawk's body. However, it seems that Tigatron's voice and personality were dominant.

(Note: In the Japanese port of Beast Wars, Airazor was dubbed as a young male. His relationship with Tigatron was retained.)
Power hungry and opportunistic, Terrorsaur never misses a chance to improve his standing within the Predacons. From cutting deals with Maximals to finding and keeping new power sources to himself, Terrorsaur is always thinking two steps ahead. Unfortunately, the big guns of the Beast Wars are usually thinking at least four steps ahead, and Terrorsaur always ends up on the short end.
Beast Wars Cartoon
Voice Actor: Doug Parker (US) ??? (Japan)

One of the original members of Megatron's crew that stole the Golden Disk, Terrorsaur usually teamed up with Waspinator to act as the Predacon's air power. Throughout the Beast Wars Terrorsaur turned on Megatron at the drop of a hat, and was willing to team up with anyone who suggested doing so. In "Equal Measures" it was Dinobot, in "Double Jeopardy" it was Rattrap, and in "Dark Designs" it was an evil Rhinox.

His shining moment came during the episode "Power Surge". Terrorsaur discovered a floating mountain with a stable cache of energon that super charged his frame and allowed him to easily depose Megatron. However, the power boost was brief in duration, and the Maximals were able to destroy the floating mountain before Terrorsaur could implement any of his grand designs. Even worse, none of the Predacons followed his lead and they brought Megatron back online while he was fighting the Maximals.

Eventually, after being beaten back into line after each attempted takeover, Terrorsaur seemed to resign himself to his station... or, at least, decided to bide his time.

Terrorsaur's Beast Wars adventure came to an end when he was knocked into a lava pool by the quantum surge that resulted from the Planet Buster's destruction. His hand was briefly seen glowing, indicating that Terrorsaur was going through transmetalization. This was probably included as a "Trap Door" so the writers could resurrect Terrorsaur or Scorponok if they needed them later.
Terrorsaur (or an alternate-universe incarnation of him) was one of the many Cybertrons kidnapped from his timestream by agents of Unicron and held in the Cauldron. A Kabaya "candy toy" version of Terrorsaur was made available in Japan. Since he was gang molded with the other three toys in the assortment, this unpainted plastic kit was mainly peach and yellow.

Rapido is a tactical genius. He believes a sharp mind is the most powerful weapon and proves it by masterminding horribly complex battle plans that come off flawlessly down to the last detail. Probably the most respected platoon commander the Autobots have, Rapido holds the highest rank possible in the Autobot Army; at one point in he even out-ranked Optimus Prime!

Rapido's platoon is sometimes known as the Axelerators.
Generation 2
*Rapido (Axelerator, 1993/1994)
: Rapido transforms into a sports car of undertermined model (it's possible he is an unproduced "concept" car). He was initially released in the European market in 1993, during the "transitional" time when the Transformers toys took on the new Generation 2 sigils, but the packaging lacked the "Generation 2" line-name. He was slightly recolored for American release the same year, with the transparent pink plastic of his windows and lightpipe being replaced with a smokey grey plactic that was much harder to see through. He was released again in the UK in 1994 in G2 packaging, but the toy was identical to the original European-market release. His chrome-silver rear-mounted engine block becomes his robot-mode blaster weapon.

: Rapido's toy is primarily distinguished by his head being too recessed to actually see over his robot mode chest.

Unreleased
Rapido's mold was one of several intended to be used in the post-G2 Takara Block Town line. To be redecoed in black with blue robot parts, he was to come with the Gasoline Station Set, a building-block gas pump that could be rebuilt into a battle station of some form. This set ultimately never came to release (Note: dammit!!!).

In 2005, a supposed Takara "release" schedule listed the Block Town sets among several other future items coming out. Only the Galaxy Force items on that list saw release, however (and some only as store exclusives to boot).

Since very little information exists on the line's more fictional aspects, it is unknown if this toy was to be the same general character Rapido, or a new character altogether.
3H Wreckers Comic
Ramulus mentions the existence of Mini-Cons.

Unicron Trilogy
Animated Continuity
Unicron created the Mini-Cons to be mindless tools, sent to Cybertron as an agitating element to the Transformers' civil war. The power-enhancing "smart tools" would be unleashed upon the populace, who would snap them up, bond with them, and the war would only get bloodier, as Unicron drank in the negative psychic energies from the death and destruction. Once he'd gathered the power he needed, the Mini-Cons would turn on their supposed masters, incapacitating them, and Unicron would fully awaken to devour the planet and all Transformers on it, eliminating his biggest obstacle to devouring all of existance.

But through a strange warp in space and time, three human children from the future -Rad, Carlos and Alexis- were sent to the Mini-Cons' birthing chamber on Cybertron just seconds before the small robots emerged from their pods. As the Mini-Cons had been designed to form mental bonds with other life forms, when Rad touched the Mini-Con who he knew from the future as High Wire, High Wire apparently formed his bond then, with Rad... and through the Mini-Cons' shared "soul dimension", the Linkage, sentience and free will spread throughout the Mini-Cons, forming "souls", and crippling Unicron's plans drastically.

Dreamwave Comic Continuity
Mini-Cons are a 3rd race of Transformer, mostly living in designated sectors to to themselves, which left the open to attack when Megatron led his Decepticons on capture raids. Mini-Cons are capable of adding their power (disproportionate to their size) to a Transformer with whom they powerlink. Mini-Cons are also capable of tapping an extradimensional energy source of unknown origin, but are wary of doing this, and most have inhibitors installed to prevent this from happening.

Over-Run, a Mini-Con refugee from another dimension led Cybertron's collected Mini-Cons in tapping that dimension's energies and channeling them into an attack on Unicron which left him stranded on the far fringes of space.
After Unicron's defeat, Most Mini-Cons re-established their villages in the Mini-Con sector. When Unicron appeared again 10 years later, no one went to fetch the Mini-cons to battle Unicron again, so it seems likely the Mini-Cons connection to their extradimensional power source was severed.

There is no indication that Mini-Cons are related to Unicron in Dreamwave continuity.

Soundwave is a Planet X Decepticon from the Cybertron portion of the Unicron Trilogy.

Soundwave is possibly Planet X's most physically intimidating warrior, but his true talent and the real threat comes from his "mad skillz" at creating confusion. His audio-altering abilities let him change his voice to sound like virtually anyone, or focus devastating sonic attacks. He also seems to be able to create illusions, though of limited duration, to further confuse his targets. The abilities of his Mini-Con companion Laserbeak only increase Soundwave's ability to confound and crush.

Even his speech seems to be geared towards throwing people off-balance; though his tone is often a deadpan monotone (at least, when he's not impersonating someone else), his speech is that of a rave-club DJ, announcing loudly to "all the bots in the hizzouse" that he's here to "lay some science down on you all". Despite the appearance these mannerisms give off, he's actually a very serious-minded and focused robot, far more than his fellow Planet X agent Sideways. His mission is manipulating Autobot and Decepticon alike to get his revenge on the citizens of Gigantion, and serving the will of Unicron.

24.37.244.211: spell 'Transformers' correctly.

Universe is a Transformers franchise without a clearly-defined starting date. The name Universe first appeared on toys released in 2003. However, in 2002 the BotCon exclusive toys bore the name Expanded Universe, and BotCon characters extending as far back as 1996 were all portrayed as being in-continuity with the convention's Universe comics. The franchise largely ended in 2005, although a few last Universe toys trickled out with a very low frequency in 2006.

The Universe franchise was conceived by Hasbro as a way of getting more Transformers product on store shelves in order to meet high demand without having to greatly increase the brand's development staff and budget. The toyline would consist entirely of redecoes and retools, both creating new characters and re-creating old ones. The backstory for the line was written to accomodate these goals:

Set ostensibly in a Generation 1 universe sometime after the events of Beast Machines, Universe deals with a struggle between the Minions of Unicron and the Children of Primus. Unicron, injured and floating in deep space, plucks Transformer warriors from across the multiverse and deposits them on his surface. The Transformers are forced to fight each other, and as they do so, Unicron absorbs energy from them in order to repair himself.

The Universe franchise consists of only two components:
*A toyline
*A comic series

The comic series was published by 3H as part of their Official Transformers Collectors Club (OTFCC).

Override is a Mini-Con from the Energon portion of the Unicron Trilogy.

Override would have been one of the many Autobot-allied Mini-Cons who sought to defend the deposits of raw Energon ore from the Terrorcons and Decepticons. He would have been teamed up with Brakedown and Clocker.

Toys
Energon (Unreleased)
A planned redeco of the Armada Street Speed Mini-Con Team member Backtrack, Override transforms into a Cadillac LXR luxury car. The coloration of the entire Team is a "one-off" of the colors of the Super Stunt Mini-Con Team.

Ultimately, Override was never released at retail. Originally intended to be packed in with Energon Ultra Magnus, the Street Speed redeco Team was displayed at OTFCC 2003, and the original versions were even pictured on the original Ultra Magnus boxes (Magnus himself appeared in Overload colors on the box, as he and the Armada redecoes Treadbolt and Rapid Run were very late additions to the very early part of the line). In the end, the Team was replaced with a redeco of the Space Mini-Con Team. Later releases of Ultra Magnus' box in other markets were altered to reflect this change.

Since Hasbro had gone through the process of trademarking the names, they were later used in the Cybertron line for the three most prominent residents of Velocitron.

The same mold is used by Redline and Side Burn, and a retooled version was used for Dice.
Ransack transforms into a pickup truck of undetermined model with oversized off-road tires and rollbar. He has a working winch mechanism connected to a spool and gear system in his torso; the cable, once pulled out, can be retracted by rolling Ransack in vehicle mode, or by attaching him to the gear system on the Armada Cyclonus mold.

In Japan, an "X-Dimension" redeco of the Adventure Team was released (in lower numbers) at normal retail. This version of Winch was colored bright red.

Test-shots of a recolored Adventure Team have surfaced on Unicron Battles cards. Presumably, Hasbro intended to release a running change redeco of the team during Armada, but cancelled the plans. It is unknown if the test-shot deco is actually the final planned version, as the paint applications on the test-shots are completely unchanged, not even in new colors. This version of Ransack replaced the dark green with light tan plastic.

This mold is also used by Cliffjumper, Payload and Torque.
Energon
