Skids is an Autobot from the Generation One universe.

Skids is a theoretician. He likes to daydream, get built into furniture, and pick up cowboy chicks.

He is noteworthy for his almost complete absence from the original television series.

Fiction
Marvel Generation 1 Comics
In the Marvel comics, Skids' earthbound alternate mode was a blue van.

One fine day, Skids had a little accident and was saved by Charlene. The naive Autobot and adventurous cowgirl had a completely innocent and slightly disturbing relationship, until Skids dropped a not-at-all figurative Ravage down a completely literal mine shaft and had a slight incident with a windshield-smashing potassium and Freudian waking dreams. After this he realized his situation with Charlene could never work out, and told her to go back to the lovelorn bagger she regularly manipulated into paying her bills, and whom she was completely uninterested in. Then he went off and was sucked into Limbo. There's no happy ending for Skids and Charlene.

Skids has a very active imagination. It's a good thing he didn't join the Ghostbusters.

Generation 1 Cartoon
Voice actors: Michael Chain, Dan Gilvezan (US), Keiichi Nanba (Japan)

Like many of the Autobots who first appeared in Season 2, the exact circumstances behind Skids joining the original group of Earth-based Autobots is not known.

Skids first appeared as part of a strike force (composed of himself, Huffer, Inferno, Tracks, and Warpath, led by Smokescreen) that was sent to stop the Insecticons from ravaging a human farm. When the strike force failed to drive off the Insecticons, Skids retreated with the rest of the team.

Although he was not depicted as participating in the battle, Skids was apparently injured in it; upon returning to Autobot Headquarters, he underwent repairs by Hoist.

As he was being repaired, Skids overheard a telecommunication between Bumblebee and Optimus Prime that confirmed Bumblebee had retrieved robotic insecticide from the planet Floron 3. Skids responded to this development quizzically.

Skids next appeared as part of a team (also consisting of Bluestreak, Prowl and Tracks) sent by Optimus Prime to investigate a football stadium that powerful bombs had been emanating from (the work of Triplechanger Blitzwing). Skids responded enthusiastically to the idea of stopping the bombs.

However, the Autobots then encountered Blitzwing's "Zone Defense", a giant highway-maze built by the Constructicons to stop intruders. As they were driving through the maze, Skids and Prowl accidentally collided with each other in vehicle mode; Skids was knocked onto his side.

Before they could transform or otherwise get out of their predicament, they were driven over by Blitzwing in tank mode, which practically reduced them to sheet metal.

After all four Autobots were defeated, Scrapper gathered their remains and constructed a throne out of them, which he then sat on.

Eventually, the four Autobots were rescued by Hoist and Smokescreen, who had Powerglide guide them through the maze from the air.

Apparently, Hoist quickly rebuilt the four of them; Skids was seen in one piece with Bluestreak, Trailbreaker and Prowl on a skyscraper helipad following a massive flood of the city they were all in, which had been accidentally caused by Astrotrain.

The four repaired Autobots (along with Trailbreaker and Ironhide) then joined Optimus Prime to watch a multi-way brawl for Decepticon leadership, which all present refrained from participating in.

Following that skirmish, Prowl opined that Optimus Prime was the greatest leader in the universe, which prompted himself, Bluestreak, Skids and Tracks to form themselves into a throne for Prime; Prime refused to sit, saying that thrones were for Decepticons - he'd rather roll.

All of them then transformed and drove off, presumably back to Autobot Headquarters.
Perhaps due to this, his car mode was often misinterpreted as one of the then-new minivans in Transformers fiction, despite the fact that a Honda City Turbo is a subcompact car, and as such, could theoretically be stowed in the back seat of an actual minivan.
Bludgeon is a Decepticon in the Generation 1 continuity.

Bludgeon is a ferocious warrior, skilled in the ancient Cybertronian martial art of Metallikato. Vicious and aloof, Bludgeon is also highly religious, adhering to an arcane code of honor. His Pretender shell resembles a human skeleton dressed in traditional Japanese samurai armor.

French-Canadian name: Gourdin<br>
Italian name: Teskior
Marvel Comics
(Note: Events from the UK-only comic stories are in italics.)

Bludgeon killed Catilla, a former Decepticon turned Autobot causing ex-Decepticon Carnivac who loosely allied himself with the Autobot "Survivors" group to hunt Bludgeon to avenge Catilla's death.

He later took on the leadership of Thunderwing's new Mayhem Attack Squad, sent to slay the newly-resurrected Jazz, Bumblebee, and Grimlock. However, alongside the Rescue Patrol, the Mayhems were foiled, and inadvertently awakened the slumbering Primus in the process. During the subsequent battle against Unicron, Bludgeon served as an advisor to Scorponok, and battled against Unicronian cultists on Cybertron. After Unicron's defeat and Scorponok's death, Bludgeon became leader of the Decepticons, and abandoned the ruined Cybertron to the Autobots. Alongside his lieutenant Krok, Bludgeon and the Decepticons invaded and pillaged the planet Klo. The Autobots attempted to stop them, but were routed by the Decepticons until the arrival of Optimus Prime, the Neo-Knights, and The Last Autobot. Their combined assault decimated the Decepticons and sent them into retreat.

Following a brief exile, Bludgeon created a large planet-like spacecraft known as the Warworld, which functioned as a vessel for pirating resources throughout the galaxy. Bludgeon then made a bid to lure Optimus Prime to Earth to steal the Autobot Creation Matrix so life could be granted to a new generation of Decepticon warriors. The plan involved a full-scale attack on Earth and did succeed in drawing Optimus Prime to Earth's defense, but not before Bludgeon was confronted by the newly-rebuilt Megatron, who wanted command of the Decepticons for himself once more. In a brief skirmish, Megatron decapitated Bludgeon's shell and destroyed his inner robot, killing him. The victorious Decepticon leader subsequently displayed Bludgeon's severed head in the Warworld.

Dreamwave Generation 1 Comics
During the so-called 'Dark Ages' of the Autobot/Decepticon conflict, Bludgeon, alongside Bugly and Mindwipe, was a disciple of the mysterious being known as The Fallen. Together with him, they captured a number of Transformers in order to perform a bizarre ceremony at Cybertron's core, but were eventually foiled by Jetfire and Grimlock.

Dreamwave Armada Comics
An alternate universe version of Bludgeon later appeared as one of Unicron's heralds in Dreamwave's comic in their cross-over storyline "Worlds Collide," along with Thunderwing, Scourge, Dirge, and Galvatron. This Bludgeon was also a martial artist, but unlike Bludgeon's verbose incarnation in Marvel Comics, this incarnation seemed to be mute. After his Pretender shell is destroyed, he is blown up when Jetfire detonates the Decepticon headquarters that they have taken over.

During the era of the Beast Wars, the planet Cybertron was ruled by the Maximal Elders, a council of Generals who had achieved the rank of Hyper Convoy and were granted a Leadership Matrix. Great Convoy was at the head of the Maximal Elders and had the final say in many decisions, including ordering the psychotically anti-social Big Convoy to mould a troop of Maximal new recruits.

When Unicron was reborn, his first goal was to settle his score with Cybertron and turn it into his new body. Great Convoy and the rest of the Maximal Elders lead an armada of Maximal warriors to Cybertron's defense. However, Unicron used his fiery serpent-mode to waste the entire Maximal armada. The Maximal Elders, including Great Convoy, were all killed instantly in the attack.
He appears exclusively in the short story Lonesome Diesel in the Transformers Legends anthology

Jake is a former trucker. He lived a good life, but with the death of his wife and son, he has no more good years to look forward to. He took to long trips out among the deserts of west Oregon to stare at the stars. It didn't make the hurt any less, but it made him able to go on a little longer.

Jake is a low-level telepath, an ability he's never done anything with, despite his wife's urgings to do something to benefit mankind. When he's upset of excited, those near him can feel his emotions.

Now… Jake lost his wife, his son… his dog has cancer, so he'll lose him too… but mostly, Jake lost his heart. The man is a country song waiting to happen, and then he meets giant robots.
Transformers Legends Anthology
Lonesome Diesel<br/>
Following the death of his son, Jake heads out to the western desert in the company of his dying dog Yeller. The solitude of the mountains does not cure his pain, but it eases it enough for him to go on a while longer. That and the bourbon, the bourbon helps.

The Mini-Con healer QuickFire is attracted by Jake's psychic distress (and his sexy truck). He re-energizes the aging Jake, curing his eyesight and taking away the little aches and pains that creep in with age. (He also cures Yeller's cancer.) QuickFire's comatose partner RipTide turns into a Mack Truck. Jake agrees to help QuickFire, hauling freight across the country to hide their presence from the Decepticons while QuickFire heals RipTide.

Several pleasant months pass doing this. Jake's return to work, and purpose, heartens him, and he find a friend and kindred spirit in QuickFire, who has renounced the life of war he once led, wanting never to fight again.

When a Decepticon attack threatens to create a massive volcano, they reluctantly break cover to alert the Autobots. Jake saves QuickFire from Megatron by crashing his pickup truck off a cliff into him, following it up with a couple shotgun shells.

After the battle, RipTide and QuickFire return to their peaceful life with Jake rather than rejoin the Autobots.
Rose Williams
Rose was Jacob Williams first love, (though she had shopped around a bit more.) Slowly dying after many years of blissful marriage, she frets that she has ruined Jake for other women, and urges him to find someone else after she is gone.
Rose is aware Jake is telepathic, and has repeatedly encouraged him to do something with it for the good of humanity.

Bobby Williams
Jake and Rose's son, killed by a suicide bomber in Iraq some time after his mother's death, two years prior to the present of Lonesome Diesel's 2004 publication.

Yeller
Yeller is a mangy good-for-nothing (but well-loved) Yellow Labrador Retriever even more ancient and decrepit than Jake (in dog years.) Yeller is riddled with cancer and not long for the world when QuickFire heals and re-energizes him. He likes to chase rabbits and watch his owners have sex.

When Megatron threatens his master, Yeller responds by urinating on him.

Yeller is name for the dog in the movie, Old Yeller, not the book. Jake ain't a book-reading' type.
