The bio for [[Transmetal 2]] [[Cybershark]] mentions that he "''honed his skills while bounty hunting a rogue band of Cybertronian space pirates''." Considering the timing in the appearance of the two toys and Hasbro's then-concurrent attempts to put in fan nods, it is generally thought the Seacons were meant to be these pirates.

This theory was later confirmed by [[Ben Yee]] in personal conversation.
