==Summary==
With [[Ravage]] and his [[Transwarp Cruiser]] backing them up, the [[Predacon]]s unleash a full assault on the [[Maximal]] [[Axalon (BW)|base]]. It doesn't take long for Ravage and [[Rampage (BW)|Rampage]] to bring down the base's shield. Ravage has Tarantulas transfer all the cruiser's power into one enormous missile. Before it can fire, [[Rattrap]] bursts into the ship's weapons hold and tosses a pair of magnetic bombs that adhere to Tarantulas's hands. The bombs obliterate [[Tarantulas]], the ship's interior, and Ravage -- who faces the onrushing fireball with a stoic cry of "[[Decepticon]]s forever!!" The cruiser falls out of the sky, coming to rest mere feet from Rampage -- who is then blasted by the still-armed missile.

With the cruiser destroyed and his minions out of commission, Megatron flees. [[Optimus Primal|Optimus]] notes that he's not headed back to base, realizes where he's probably going, and orders the Maximals to pursue.

Meanwhile, [[Blackarachnia (BW)|Blackarachnia]] and [[Silverbolt (Fuzor)|Silverbolt]] make their way into the caves of the volcano, uncovering the object of Blackarachnia's quest—the [[Ark (G1)|Ark]]. Blackarachnia explains to Silverbolt that the ship contains the Autobots' "finest heroes", who will awaken in the distant future to re-start the [[Great War]]. Blackarachnia is concerned only with the power it possesses -- but Megatron arrives just then, blasting Silverbolt offline and sealing the entrance to the caves behind him.

The Maximals arrive hot on his heels, find the sealed entrance, and start digging their way in. Inside, Megatron threatens to vaporize Silverbolt, convincing Blackarachnia to use the access codes to gain access to the Ark (though she vehemently maintains it's only so they'll have some cover in the face of the imminent Maximal attack.) The Maximals burst through in time to see the two Predacons sealing the Ark behind them.

Blackarachnia activates the ship's defenses to hold off the Maximals, while Megatron goes to "effect a more permanent solution." Entering the main bridge of the ship, he hovers among the fallen Autobots and Decepticons, eulogizing the Decepticons and cursing the Autobots, until he comes face to face with his intended target—[[Optimus Prime (G1)|Optimus Prime]], the original [[Supreme Commander|leader]] of the [[Autobot]]s, who kept the Decepticons from victory (and therefore left their Predacon decendants in a subservient position to the dominant Maximals.) Megatron charges his main weapon and prepares to fire.

In the caves, the Maximals are pelted by fire from the ship's cannon, till Rattrap manages to force a backblast that deactivates the cannon and shields. [[Rhinox (BW)|Rhinox]] struggles to open the mighty doors of the Ark. But the Maximals are too late -- Megatron unleashes a full-power blast at Optimus Prime's head, destroying it.

A time storm immediately wells up, spreading outward from the Ark and into space. The Maximals find themselves phasing in and out of past bodies -- as well as out of existance -- as Megatron emerges from the Ark, triumphant.

*This episode called into sudden question the location of the Maximal and Predacon bases. While the events of "Code of Hero" seem to firmly place the series somewhere in Africa (where early humanity evolved), the Ark is traditionally seen to have crashed in the Pacific Northwest of the United States. If this is the case, the Maximals pursued Megatron across the Atlantic Ocean and over an entire continent!<br>Beast Wars, however, does not use a strict interpretation of any G1 storyline; it could be that in this version of the G1 history, te Ark also landed somewhere in Africa. The question is never directly addressed in the show.

* Either way, it seems that the Maximals might have been better off shooting down Megatron while he was still on the run, rather than waiting till he reached his destination.

He's considered "fractious" even by Decepticon standards, yet is willing to give [[Starscream (Movie)|Starscream]] the benefit of the doubt and follow where he leads, at least for the time being. Though not totally dedicated to the service of the Decepticon's current leader, he is much more cautious and reserved about expressing mutinous dissent than say [[Blackout (Movie)|''most'']]. In many ways this makes him Starscream's closest ally in the naturally combative Decepticon ranks. Then again, it's been said that he likes to trick people into trusting him, just so he can see their reactions when they find out just how much of a bad idea it was.

He is the Decepticons' scout and hunter on Earth, choosing a Ford Mustang Saleen S281 modified as a police car for his alternate mode. Barricade acts as pilot and chief science officer for the [[Nemesis (Movie)|Nemesis]]. Through this he apparently possesses an impressive "mastery of physics", being very intelligent. He spent most of his time rubbing everyone the wrong way and loving every minute of it.

Barricade was sent to Tranquility to hunt down Sam Witwicky and the glasses that held the location of the AllSpark. He attempted to capture Sam and Mikaela outside their high school, but Bumblebee stepped in. The humans fled for the nearby baseball field with Barricade in pursuit, but Bumblebee beat him to them, protecting them while they ran away again. He followed them to the power plant, but was once again foiled by Bumblebee and sent packing.

Later, in [[Mission City]], Barricade made one last grab for the AllSpark after [[Starscream (Movie)|Starscream]], [[Blackout (Movie)|Blackout]] and [[Brawl (Movie)|Brawl]] had each fallen to the Autobots. However, he was once again intercepted by Bumblebee, and finally defeated for good.

Upon reaching Tranquility and choosing his alternate mode, Barricade attempted some recon, but encountered a squad of Autobot drones, a battle which spilled out to the local baseball field. Shortly afterwards, he was informed by Starscream that Frenzy had information they needed, but the diminutive Decepticon had been captured by [[Sector Seven]] agents. Barricade tracked them to the power plant, then hounded the agents across town, wrecking every building in his path until Frenzy was recovered.

Finally on the trail of Sam, he was stopped cold by Sam's protector Bumblebee. Barricade got the upper hand, but the Autobot led him on a chase that ended in [[Bay's Demolition]] lot, and an ambush courtesy of a lot of Autobot drones. Barricade overcame the odds, and hunted down Bumblebee once more, finally besting the Autobot and taking the glasses from Sam.

When the Decepticons converged on Mission City, Barricade was tasked in taking out the Autobot [[Jazz (Movie)|Jazz]]. He later stood in Megatron's presence after the AllSpark had been recovered and [[Megatron (Movie)|Megatron]] ordered the Earth to be destroyed before they left it on their way to conquering all of known space.

After being active on [[Earth]] for some time, Barricade arrived to pick up [[Frenzy (Movie)|Frenzy]] after the smaller Decepticon's attempt to hack into and sabotage the United States military network on [[Air Force One]]. Using data Frenzy had acquired, the two learned of [[Sector Seven]], "Project Iceman", and the discoverer of the entombed [[Megatron (Movie)|Megatron]], [[Archibald Witwicky]], the duo were able to use the internet to learn of both Archibald's descendants, [[Sam Witwicky|Sam]], and a pair of glasses that had been marked with the location of the long-lost [[AllSpark]].

Later, Barricade confronted Sam regarding his recent eBay auctions while the human was fleeing [[Bumblebee (Movie)|Bumblebee]], whom the human mistakenly believed was out to harm him. Sam fell for Barricade's ruse, and requested the "officer's" help, only for Barricade to turn on him and violently demand information on Sam's glasses. Sam and his friend [[Mikaela Banes|Mikaela]], who had been drawn into the encounter, managed to escape him when Bumblebee convinced Sam to trust him, and Barricade pursued both the Autobot and two humans to a junkyard. He engaged Bumblebee in battle, dispatching Frenzy to chase down the humans. However, his battle with Bumblebee ended with Barricade heavily damaged.

Evidently, though, he recovered, and was back to working order when Frenzy (who had survived and infiltrated Sector Seven) transmitted both Megatron and the Allspark's location to his fellow Decepticons. When the humans fled with the Allspark, Barricade joined in the pursuit along with [[Brawl (Movie)|Brawl]] and [[Bonecrusher (Movie)|Bonecrusher]]. Sam recognized him, and warned that they were in danger.

Bonecrusher went on the offensive, and Barricade's final fate was left unclear.

Barricade's disappearance from the film is puzzling. It appears he was originally meant to be destroyed, as both the novel and comic adaptations of the movie depict his destruction by [[Optimus Prime (Movie)|Optimus Prime]], who had both destroyed Bonecrusher and was delayed in joining the humans and fellow Autobots. (Alternatively the children's chapter book adaption of the film [[The Transformers Quest for the Matrix]] describes Barricade as being destroyed by the US military.) Regardless in the movie proper Barricade simply does not appear again after Bonecrusher transforms. Since his remains are not seen among the Decepticon parts being buried at sea, it is possible he survived.

Writers [[Roberto Orci]] and [[Alex Kurtzman]] have stated in a recent interview that Barricade's disappearance from the remainder of the film is a "thread for Movie 2" [http://transformerslive.blogspot.com/2007/07/kurtzman-and-orci-post-move-q.html] Although, some fans speculate that Barricade was in fact the Autobot Prowl ''deep'' under cover, and didn't show at the battle as not to blow his cover.

As with MOST deluxe-class cars in the ''Movie'' line, he features clear windows for his windshield and doors, but oddly his rear window is opaque black plastic. Stored inside the engine bay, behind the car's ram bar is a mini-figure [[Frenzy (Movie)|Frenzy]] disguised as Barricade's grill.

: In robot mode, Barricade quite faithfully reproduces the CGI design, though his chest cannot deform to the same extent. He features a reasonable amount of articulation with ball joints for his shoulders and upper legs, ratcheting and swivels for his elbows and double-jointed knees (although the knees make it difficult to properly align the upper and lower portions of his legs). Barricade has no neck joint as the two car hood halves slot into place between the bottom of the head and the plate on which it sits. Additionally, his pelvis is extremely difficult (if not impossible) to clip into the underside of his torso. Barricade does not have any [[Automorph]]ing [[gimmick]] to speak of; in its place is a spring-loaded extending "punching" attack on his left arm.
