:Jetfire is a Decepticon and Autobot from the Revenge of the Fallen franchise in the live-action film continuity family.

In his day, Jetfire was a living legend both in the air and on the battlefield. Sadly, his day has long since passed. His body went south years back. His bunny is dead on the wheel. He's got rust in places he didn't even know he had. Basically, Jetfire's old! An ancient Decepticon Seeker, Jetfire was around long before the war broke out, and unlike many, came to see his "comrades" for what they were. This caused him to defect to the Autobots, something virtually unheard of. As a consequence, Jetfire never managed to fully obtain the trust of the others back in the day.

He's still a fine asset, powerful and able to activate a space bridge to teleport across great distances. This is slightly offset by the fact he's so old.
After years without a proper source of energon, he's practically falling apart. His processor gave up the ghost millennia ago. These days he has a hard enough time remembering his name, and he's lucky if his teleporting puts him on the right planet. It makes him a bit crotchety and also leaves him with the nagging feeling he's forgotten something important.

{{quote|My father, why, he was a wheel! The first wheel!
In the distant past, the AllSpark Cube created a race of powerful, trans-dimensional beings as the first inhabitants of Cybertron. The Cube gave these beings mighty powers, as well as terraforming their world, but it was not limitless, and gradually became depleted. The first beings learned that the AllSpark's power could be replenished by harvesting the energy of stars, but they were unable to locate new stars to suit their purposes, despite their amazing ability to travel between dimensions. Once again, the Cube came to the rescue, creating a race of workers who had the ability to change their shape.

Jetfire was among the very first of these new beings, a "Seeker" with the ability to travel across the vastness of space in search of new suns. Once located, he would lead others and his masters back to it so a harvester could be constructed to drain the energy of these stars, thus replenishing the AllSpark. Defiance issue 4

Jetfire served directly under the Prime who would become The Fallen, finding for him various stars to harvest, believing he was serving the Dynasty of Primes as a whole, rather than The Fallen's machinations in specific. Over time, The Fallen began to open up to Jetfire, his most loyal and capable Seeker, and told him that the Dynasty no longer served Cybertron's best interests. Jetfire had unwittingly sacrificed a populated star system under The Fallen's misdirection, and became confused.

Still, Jetfire continued to work with The Fallen, despite his doubts. His master and a small army of Constructicon drones had fashioned a new, secret faction called the Decepticons with the intention of eventually subverting the Dynasty. Jetfire followed them to a desert on a small blue planet to build another star harvester when primitive life made itself known. The Dynasty arrived soon thereafter to put an end to The Fallen's betrayal. Jetfire realized too late that he was on the wrong side, and so The Fallen warped Jetfire and the other "underlings" into orbit so that the Primes could face each other alone. As they fell planetward, Jetfire fought the Constructicons, and was eventually victorious, but with a price. He crashed from orbit into the Earth and laid dormant for thousands of years.

After he awoke, Jetfire began wandering the Earth Tales of the Fallen issue 3 periodically adopting new alternate modes to remain hidden. In 1898, while disguised as a portion of the United States Navy vessel the USS Maine, Jetfire sensed energy similar to the Fallen's, and broke away from the wooden housing that form the rest of his alternate mode (inadvertently leading his human crew to believe they had been attacked, thereby initiating the Spanish-American War) that he might settle the score. Tracking the signal to the Arctic, he instead found a near-comatose robot bearing the Decepticon mark instead. Upon discovering that he was not The Fallen, but someone Jetfire had never heard of named Megatron, the Seeker just punched him and turned to leave. At this point, Jetfire realized he had an audience: a group of humans who had been studying Megatron, and who reacted to Jetfire's presence by shooting at him. Jetfire promptly seized his attacker and hurled him to his death, while the other humans used explosives to crack the ice sheets and send Jetfire plummeting into the frigid depths. Original

At the bottom of the ocean, Jetfire discovered a subterranean cave network in which he took refuge. Sensing a familiar energy source somewhere on the planet, the Seeker began to seek... but he was growing progressively low on power, and it took him fifteen years of crawling about underground before he could track the signal to its source. Along the way, he was confronted by strange, inhuman beasts that inhabited the caves, and slew all those that dared attack him. Finally, in 1913, addled and sluggish from lack of energy, he found the source of the signal: the AllSpark itself, which was in the process of being excavated by the same humans he had met in the Arctic! Fending off another attack on his person, Jetfire reached for the cube, inadvertently triggering a discharge of Energon from it that brought several surrounding machines to life, and overloaded his systems. To expend the excess energy, Jetfire promptly teleported via space bridge to parts unknown. Irreplaceable

Jetfire next surfaced in 1944, in the form of a Lockheed P-38 Lightning, when he was captured by Nazi scientists during World War II and imprisoned in a cryo-chamber in Castle Neuschwanstein. The Nazis studied his body and mind, reverse-engineering transforming tank-mecha from his systems and prising a map of the cave system from his memory. When Sector Seven—the government organization which had grown out of that original group of humans Jetfire had fought in the Arctic—got wind of the new Nazi technology, they dispatched a unit led by William Simmons to find and destroy Jetfire. Simmons was the only survivor of the team, and made it into Castle Neuschwanstein before being confronted by the Nazis' ultimate creation, the Panzer-Giganten, which he tried to destroy by throwing a satchel of explosives at it. The explosives instead struck Jetfire's chamber, freeing the Seeker from his confinement, and he proceeded to stop the Panzer-Giganten by tearing out of its human components. Demanding to know how humans could do something so hideous to their own kind, Jetfire was told by Simmons that it was not his doing, and that he believed his bomb would have killed them all, prompting Jetfire to inquire why he valued his life so little. Simmons retorted that he did value his life, but valued freedom more, something that gave Jetfire pause, reminding him of his reasons for turning on The Fallen millennia before. Seeing a kinship in Simmons and in humanity that he had not felt before, he silently destroyed the castle and everyone in it, then flew Simmons to an Allied outpost before disappearing once more. Weapon (issue)

Jetfire's experience with Simmons deeply affected him, and he evidently shadowed the man and his organization over the following five years, taking the form of a Lockheed U-2 spy plane. In 1954, he was present when sabotage at Sector Seven's Arctic base left Simmons and a small crew trapped with a rapidly-thawing Megatron. Walter Simmons called for liquid nitrogen bombs to be dropped on the complex, at which point Jetfire swooped to intervene, transforming and shielding the younger Simmons's wife Anne and Philip Nolan from the freezing blast. When Jetfire sadly informed Walter that he had been unable to save William, Walter could only ask why he had done anything at all. Jetfire explained that William's nobility had driven him to atone for past sins: before departing, Jefire told him that he was no longer the creature Walter had met in those caves half a century before... and Walter did not have to be either. Frozen

At some point in the latter half of the twentieth century, Jetfire was wandering in a desert when an SR-71 Blackbird crashed into him and exploded. Amidst the chaos, he took its form. Tales of the Fallen issue 3

Jetfire was one of the Seekers dispatched by The Fallen to locate the Matrix of Leadership after the Dynasty of Primes hid it on Earth. However, Jetfire and the other Seekers were unable to locate the Tomb that the Primes had forged. The only clue they could find was a riddle: "When dawn alights the Dagger's tip, Three Kings will reveal the Doorway". Eventually, the Fallen abandoned the Seekers and they were forced to go into stasis lock out of a lack of energon.

For many years, a dormant Jetfire had hidden in his alternate mode at the Smithsonian National Air and Space Museum's Steven F. Udvar-Hazy Center, until Seymour Simmons, Sam Witwicky, Mikaela Banes, Leo Spitz and Wheelie broke in with a small fragment of the AllSpark. It was only after the AllSpark shard hit Jetfire that they bothered to check which side he was on. The sight of the Decepticon insignia sent the humans scrambling for cover, but the surge of energy awoke him. Confused at the "hideous mausoleum" he was held in, Jetfire decided to head outside to get a better handle on where he was. After his attempts at overriding and shooting the doors failed, Jetfire smashed them aside, then wandered about the planes outside, damaging a few. When the humans tried to talk to them, he initially claimed that he couldn't deal with them, as he had a mission, but did ask what planet he was (he wasn't too fond of the name "Earth", feeling it might as well be called "Dirt"). Jetfire inquired on the state of the civil war, and revealed that he had defected to the Autobots (it's an intensely personal decision). This led the smaller Wheelie to defect to a human female he dubbed "warrior goddess". After the human Sam asked what he was saying, Jetfire, still confused, pounded the ground and shouted that he had a lot of issues regarding his mother, and that his father was the first wheel, who did not transform but performed his functions with honor and dignity. At which point a parachute stored in him suddenly popped open, bringing him down. Sam then tried to explain what was going on.

When Sam was finished carving Cybertronian symbols on the ground, he mentioned Megatron and The Fallen. Jetfire ranted that The Fallen was the original Decepticon and had left him on Earth to rust. The symbols were a part of Jetfire's mission, and they jogged his memory banks enough to convince him to open a space bridge, teleporting the entire group (including Bumblebee, the twins, and Wheelie) to Egypt. Thankful that he had managed to stay on the planet, Jetfire then told them the story of the Dynasty of Primes and The Fallen, Cybertron's first contact with Earth, the star harvester which could destroy a Sun and convert it to energon, and the Matrix of Leadership needed to activate it, hidden on Earth. He revealed that only a Prime could kill The Fallen, but he believed that none were left. Sam told him of Optimus Prime; this caught the ancient Seeker's interest, revealing eagerness in the Prime's whereabouts, but became distraught to hear of Prime's death. Sam then wondered if the Matrix could restore Optimus to life. Jetfire said it was not the Matrix's intended use, but that the power within was unlike any known. Sadly, this was all Jetfire could do for the group, and after telling them of the riddle, he urged them to hurry off and find the Tomb of the Primes.

During the final battle around the Great Pyramid of Giza (which contained the Star Harvester), Jetfire arrived and attempted to "stick" the landing, which didn't go quite as he planned. He immediately decided to "show how they brought the pain in my day", using his axe to slice Mixmaster across the chest and decapitate the Constructicon. He was critically wounded by a surprise attack from Scorponok and although he managed to kill the Decepticon, the injury was fatal. Fortunately, Jetfire was treated to one last wonder, as Sam Witwicky used the Matrix to resurrect Optimus. Jetfire was overjoyed of the moment, hardly believing that he was seeing a living Prime. Unfortunately, The Fallen teleported in and attacked, damaging Optimus and stealing the Matrix, placing it in the harvester. As he lay dying, Jetfire, who felt that during his entire life he'd never done a thing worth doing, offered his parts to Optimus Prime, saying that they would give him "a power like you've never known". Telling Optimus to fulfill his destiny, Jetfire ripped out his spark core and died.

Jetfire's sacrifice was not in vain: within moments of his death, Ratchet instructed Jolt to begin a full transplant of the afterburners and weapons systems onto Optimus. Now equipped with Jetfire's powerful weapons and engines, Optimus broke through a blockade of debris The Fallen had telekinetically erected around the Pyramid and destroyed the Star Harvester before it could be used against the Earth's Sun. Prime then faced the Fallen and Megatron, using his afterburners to send Megatron flying through some ruins. During the battle, The Fallen pulled off the left wing and afterburner, using them to strike Prime in the face, but Optimus ultimately triumphed and ripped out the Fallen's spark core, killing the treacherous Prime. After the battle, Optimus quickly detached Jetfire's parts. Revenge of the Fallen (film)
:Jetfire appears in this set as snap-on armour parts for 2007 mold Voyager class Optimus Prime. Obviously the armour fits onto Optimus Prime's robot mode to form the Jet Optimus combination, but when removed can be assembled into a gun platform, or can be fitted to Optimus' vehicle mode as some sort of rocket booster. Optimus Prime himself has been redecoed similarly to Buster Optimus Prime, in that he has an extensive, accurate paint scheme.
**Accessories: Front landing gear/walking stick, rotary cannon missile launcher, projectile

:Jetfire converts into an SR-71 Blackbird spy plane, quite possibly the largest alternate mode yet for the Leader class price point.

:Jetfire features several electronic lights and sounds; in jet mode, pushing the button on his back activates a "swooshing" noise, while in robot mode, a new button is revealed on his rear that triggers mechanical stomping sounds. Pressing the tab on Jetfire's chest activates his moving Mech Alive gears and head, accompanied by Jetfire announcing: "Jetfire's mah name!". The European version has the clip abbreviated to "Jetfire" (humorously, the way that the original clip is trimmed cuts off the end of the word, so it sounds like "Jetfi-"). Unlike previous ROTF Leader Class toys, this is not the version sold in the UK. In contrast to the film, where the character speaks with a Cockney (London area) accent, the toy is positively Scottish. Despite the back of the package showing two lights within Jetfire's torso, he only has one light, on his left side, while the other slot that would normally house the light is replaced with a button that emits Jetfire's transformation noise when the toy is transformed.

:As seen in the movie, he can combine with Leader Class Optimus Prime to form Prime's powered-up mode, albeit at the cost of Optimus Prime's leg articulation. A few inaccuracies are present in the combination instructions: for instance, while the instructions say to position the cockpit halves behind Prime's shoulders, they actually are meant to sit on top of them (as seen to the left), and feature small grooves into which the small silver triangular prongs lock. In addition, while Optimus' rear cab sections are shown as being folded out like rectangular wings in the instructions, it appears they are intended to sit flat against the sides of the portion of Jetfire that connects to Prime's back. Jetfire has two tabs that sit directly above the panels when folded back which better support the weight of Jetfire. The struts on which Jetfire's engines are mounted also pivot back to allow exactly enough space for the folded cab panels to fit. The remarkably small text written under the cockpit windows is: LT. COL. BRAWLEY WARNING THIS AIRCRAFT CONTAINS A SEAT CONTAINING AN EXPLOSIVE CHARGE SEE MAINTENANCE MANUAL BEFORE REMOVING.

:Amusingly, the figure's kibble likes to fall off during transformation. It makes him a little more screen accurate, after all...

:This TakaraTomy Asian market exclusive Leader class two pack consists of a redecoed Jetfire and an altered Buster Optimus Prime. Jetfire has a more subtle, more movie-accurate colour scheme, replacing his white and gunmetal blue parts with gunmetal brown. Buster Optimus Prime has the faceplated head of the first release of Revenge of the Fallen Leader class Optimus Prime, instead of the new head sculpted for Buster Optimus Prime and prop vehicle-accurate blue pin striping instead of CGI-accurate white.

: Fast Action Battlers Jetfire is a simplified, roughly Deluxe-sized toy of Jetfire. In vehicle mode, he transforms into a sort of cute, super-deformed SR-71 Blackbird jet. As with most Transformers toy jets, he has a fair bit of undercarriage junk from his robot mode, though not to the extent of the Leader class toy. In robot mode he has a reasonably accurate depiction of Jetfire's design, though his right arm ends in a spring-loaded projectile launcher shaped like a rotary cannon. It also combines with Optimus Prime.
Notes
* While all the fictions agree that Jetfire was a Decepticon Seeker who defected and has been stuck on Earth for a long time, none agree on when and why he came to Earth, when and why he defected, or how long he snoozed. Random, confused mythos divergence? Now that's 80s nostalgia!

* Jetfire's head was redesigned so Industrial Light & Magic could animate a smirk on the character. This early, mouthless head was still used for the toy designs and promotional art though.
* Jetfire's ancient Cybertronian vehicle mode as seen in IDW Publishing's Defiance #4 bears more than a passing similarity with the starship Axalon from Beast Wars.

* Apparently, Jetfire was briefly active during the Cuban Missile Crisis, according to one of his comments in the Revenge of the Fallen video game.

* According to an extended bio unlocked on the Hunt for the Decepticons website by a code on "The Victory of The Fallen" toys box, Jetfire's body is filled with mysterious, powerful technology lost to the Autobots for centuries, which explains why it gave Optimus the boost he needed to defeat The Fallen.
A genius chemist, Mixmaster serves as a weapons designer to the Decepticon elite. He has spent his entire lifespan mastering the intricacies of chemical reactions, becoming an expert in poisons, corrosive substances, and most especially explosives. He has a knack for improvisation, being able to make deadly concoctions from just the native materials a world has to offer. A member of the Constructicons, when Devastator is formed he constitutes the lumbering beast's head.

There are two of him, one of which forms the head of Devastator, the other may or may not be also named "Mixmaster".

Once again, the Cube came to the rescue, creating a race of workers, who had the ability to change their shape.

The "Mixmaster" body-type was among the very first of these new beings, one of several "builders" who would construct a harvester when a suitable sun had been found. Once built, the device would drain the energy of these stars, thus replenishing the AllSpark. Defiance issue 4

One of the Mixmasters was part of The Fallen's early Decepticons. On Earth, he and his brothers were sicced on the turncoat Jetfire. Mixmaster was the last one standing and managed to get the Seeker in a crushing embrace, informing him "You die". Jetfire got out of this by teleporting into Earth's atmosphere, causing Mix's death by atmosphere re-entry. Tales of the Fallen issue 3
After the AllSpark shard was retrieved from NEST's secure bunker at Diego Garcia, Long Haul, Rampage, Mixmaster, Scalpel, Ravage and another, smaller Constructicon secreted themselves aboard the Bayos freighter heading towards the North Atlantic. Once the ship passed over the Laurentian Abyss, the Decepticons jumped overboard and dove down to where Megatron's broken body lay. Scalpel ordered the death of the smallest Constructicon to rebuild Megatron, a request that Mixmaster and the others obliged with. Soon, Megatron was reborn!

After Megatron killed Optimus Prime, Mixmaster climbed the Brooklyn Bridge and knocked down the American flag in a display of dominance as The Fallen broadcast a worldwide message demanding the humans bring them the head of Sam Witwicky.

Some time later, Mixmaster and another Constructicon with the same body-type were present in Egypt during Operation: Firestorm. Mixmaster and several other Constructicons waited in a quarry in their construction vehicle disguises until the humans Seymour Simmons, Leo Spitz and their Autobot guardians Skids and Mudflap approached. The Constructicons combined into the mighty Devastator and attacked.

Elsewhere, the other Mixmaster fought against the NEST forces in the Egyptian town near the great ruins of the pyramids, using his cannon emplacement mode to cause serious problems, until the ex-Decepticon Jetfire arrived to slice him in half and crush his torso, killing him.
Meanwhile, Devastator had shrugged off the Autobot twins and was busy demolishing the Great Pyramid of Giza when Simmons called upon the United States Navy to attack Devastator. The [[United States Navy#U.S.S.
Mixmaster was one of the Decepticons dispatched to intercept an evacuation led by Ratchet and a NEST convoy. He led an assault group which was able to destroy the convoy; however, the evacuation had already ended. Since his mission had failed, Mixmaster tried to console himself by killing Ratchet and was able to put him in a critical state before Ironhide arrived and helped him. Mixmaster threw Ratchet away and ordered his troops to attack Ironhide, but the Autobot defeated them. Mixmaster then decided to take care of the situation by himself, but ended up trapped under a platform dropped by Ironhide.

However, this didn't stop him for too long, and he was able to quickly get out and place his remaining soldiers into a scrapyard. The troops were once again defeated by Ironhide and his new weapon sent by Wheeljack. Mixmaster was too confident that the weapon wasn't strong enough to take out his shields, and he attacked with no warning. During the battle, his shields were in fact destroyed by Ironhide's new weapon, turning the tide of the battle towards Ironhide's favor. Ironhide defeated the Decepticon and terminated his opponent, gangland execution-style.
:Mixmaster and the six other Legends class Constructicons combine to form Devastator. In Japan, the Legends class Constructicons were sold individually. Mixmaster has the dubious honor of pulling Devastator's face around like a rectal growth in robot mode. He forms (you guessed it) the head of Devastator.
*Mixmaster (Voyager, 2009)
**Japanese ID number: RD-12
**Accessories: Missile

:Voyager Class Revenge of the Fallen Mixmaster transforms into a gray and silver cement mixer with purple windows and headlights, based loosely on the Mack truck seen in the film. The vehicle mode's mixing drum is incapable of rotating due to the transformation, but does boast a pair of gigantic Decepticon logos on either side. The cement chute at the rear of the vehicle mode can accurately raise and lower on a hinge, and the cannon can be fixed to fire directly overhead or behind at pursuing vehicles.

: His robot mode is designed to be squat with very long arms, but in order to be fully functional and look like the stock photo, his legs at the hip joints must be slightly mistransformed from what is depicted in his instructions. This results in a robot mode that is very thin and lanky, with numerous joints on the extremely long arms alone. The packaging calls out Mech Alive gimmickry in the form of "spinning gears" on his chest, but the feature is only present at the thighs and forearms, which reveal shifting internal bits when the joints are rotated. The robot mode's missile-firing cannon is locked in place on its back pointing straight upward; it can be raised over Mixmaster's head, although this involves letting the cab hang loose on his back as it's designed to attach to the cannon. Alternately the toy can be transformed to its artillery cannon-like Battle Mode that has him essentially performing a belly flop, letting the launcher fire forward. At least, according to the Battle Mode's official depiction on the instructions.

: The image of the cement mixer mode on the packaging has been flipped horizontally, leaving the location of the ladder switched. Additionally, the robot mode image on the packaging has a different mold for the mixing drum shells, with rectangular-shaped pegs rather than circular.
He is decorated with a small tampograph reading "Ol' Lefty", a reference to how Generation 1 Mixmaster formed Devastator's left leg.

:The Mixmaster component of the Devastator set becomes Devastator's head. He contains the lights and sounds for Devastator, as well as individual sounds for his vehicle mode. They are motion activated, which means he never, ever shuts up. As with the other Constructicon members in this set, Mixmaster does not have his own robot mode. To activate sounds (if you're willing to do so, that is), press down on a lever on Devastator's chest. Doing so will raise Devastator's mighty head and open his mouth, and cause one of a myriad of sounds to play, including: "I am.... DEVASTATOR!" "CRUSH... AUTOBOTS!" "MWAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!" "i am...DECEPTICON!". In Devastator mode, pressing the button down for a few moments also activate's his "vortex grinder". Transforming him back into his own component activates the transformation sound when the face cover is pulled from the underside of his truck mode, after that, he randomly starts making engine stalling noises whenever you look at it funny.
*Constructicon Devastator (2009)
: Mega Power Bots Devastator is a simple toy for younger children, featuring plenty of playing sounds and flashing lights. His limbs have limited swivel articulation and do not detach into separate vehicles. He has a distinctly more humanoid stature than normal.

: Unlike regular Power Bots, and unlike other portrayals of the character in general, Devastator features a transformation! It consists of putting his arms up and laying him flat on his stomach, which lets him roll around using the wheels on his limbs.

: Pressing down the Decepticon shield on his crotch (!) spins the vortex in his chest, lights up his eyes and makes him utter one of many Welker-recorded phrases, including "Prepare for extermination!", "Crush Autobots!" and "I am Devastator!" Pressing on the crane of his excavator arm makes a cannon blast sound effect, while pressing the cab of his loader arm turns the scoop into claws.
The Mixmaster figure itself appears to be an unchanged version from the Revenge of the Fallen release of the Legends Constructicon Devastator combiner figure, and comes packed with (apparently) similarly unchanged Constructicon Devastator figures of Long Haul, Rampage, a red redeco of Scrapper, who was probably intended to be Scrapmetal, and a metallic green redeco of Voyager class Megatron
Notes
*According to Ben Procter's concept art, Mixmaster originally had a friendly face based on that of actor Brendan Gleeson... and was apparently going to be an Autobot. The early head design was actually put to use in the Generation 1 Mixmaster-themed redeco store exclusive, as well as the Legends Mixmaster.

*Apparently, a definitive and solid configuration for the Voyager Mixmaster toy's Battle Mode IS possible, for if one were to look carefully, one would see several design elements present in the toy that are indicative of a (most likely) thoroughly planned out transformation for the third mode. Unfortunately, none of these design elements are alluded to at all in the instructions, leaving many with nothing but guesses as to how it all fits together. Or in most cases, complete disregard for this mode altogether. But this does open the door for a lot of fanmode interpretations, which is always good.

*Not unlike Bonecrusher in the first movie, Revenge of the Fallen sees Mixmaster (and indeed, quite a lot of other Decepticons) emit some heavily-processed, garbled Cybertronian noise that could maybe pass for English dialogue if you cup your ear and turn your head sideways. The difference is that the DVD subtitles actually interpret the roar he lets out before transforming to battle mode as the sentence fragment "Listen up..." Unlike Bonecrusher, however, no voice actor is listed in the end credits.

*Though the green Mixmaster was a Toy'R Us exclusive, he has been seen at other stores.fact

*Despite being very smart, it still dosn't explain why he walks like a gorilla when he unleashes his cannon, wich smart beings sees as primitive. Mixmaster obviusly dosn't care.

*His appearance in the Dark of the Moon game kinda makes a paradox. If the Mixmaster that was killed by Jetfire had his remains destroyed by the bombs and if the Mixmaster forming Devastator was destroyed by the railgun, then why does he appear in said game when it's set as a prologue to the movie?! Maybe there's THREE of him...

Scorponok is a small Transformer with a symbiotic connection to Blackout. Just as Blackout would often be found looming powerful and silent by Megatron, Scorponok is always near Blackout, except in those times he has been sent to kill.

His main drives are to hunt, destroy, and hunt some more, causing many to view him as barely sentient. Others are concerned that he actually be a cunning opponent getting friend and foe alike to underestimate him... and the latter are right. In secret, Scorponok has proven to be astonishingly erudite and focused on patient, long-game operations.

Since he can tunnel underground with frightening speed, he's incredibly good at ambushing. His favorite pastime is playing Hide and Seek with unsuspecting players, be they robotic or organic. He prefers to be hider and seeker. On Cybertron, he was deliberately left behind on battlefields so he could use his chameleon mesh armour plating to blend in perfectly with the background, then ambush any Autobot patrols that would arrive. Thanks to this, Megatron gave him more autonomy than other Decepticons would get, as he admired Scorponok's genocidal zeal.

He may retreat, but he'll come back. He kills Autobots. He never gives up.
Ghosts of Yesterday prequel novel
During the long years of searching for Megatron, Scorponok was a member of the Nemesis crew. After Starscream left the ship temporarily with strict orders that everyone was to stay put, Blackout decided to attack the Ark, and Scorponok went along. The small Decepticon managed to grab onto Optimus during the fight, but proved more of a nuisance than anything. Optimus was able to inflict some damage in return, and leave Scorponok struggling to return to the Nemesis.

When the Decepticons later made another attack on the Autobots, Scorponok snuck aboard the Ark. It wasn't until Optimus spotted him moving through the ship that the Autobots were alerted to his actions. Ratchet was sent to forcibly eject Scorponok, who was ill-equipped to move through space. While Ratchet pressed to the attack, the helpless Decepticon was only saved by an injured Blackout, who was still recovering from a massive beating by Starscream. What a pal. Ghosts of Yesterday

The next morning, as the surviving soldiers discussed the attack, Scorponok observed their conversation from a distance while hidden in the sand. Targeting Lennox for elimination, Scorponok followed the unit as they made their way to the human boy's village. Choosing his moment to strike just as the men stopped on the outskirts of the settlement, his attack was foiled when Sergeant Epps saw the metal scorpion tail pointed at Lennox's back and shouted a warning. (Well, it wasn't so much a warning as it was a very, very panicked "WHOAAAAAAAAAAAAAAH!!!" followed by gunfire, but hey, it counts.) The other soldiers joined in the firefight as Scorponok dove under the sand to confuse them before fatally impaling [[Patrick Donnelly|Sgt.

Driving the soldiers into the village, Scorponok fired a barrage of missiles, which destroyed the ruins that the village had grown around and critically injured Figueroa. Unfortunately for Scorponok, Lennox's distress call to the Pentagon had gotten through, and an MQ-1 Predator drone relayed images of the Decepticon to astonished US military commanders. They immediately sent two A-10 Thunderbolt IIs to attack Scorponok, to little effect, then followed up with an AC-130 Spectre gunship, which damaged Scorponok enough for him to dive back into the sand and escape, leaving his broken tail behind.

Scorponok's tail was transported back to the States aboard a C-17 transport. Lennox, Epps, and several other soldiers examined it en route, which led to the discovery that the only damage the armor didn't either shrug off or quickly heal was the "6000-degree magnesium burn" of a sabot round. Armed with this knowledge, the humans knew they now had a weapon that could hurt the invaders. Transformers (2007)

: Legends Scorponok is the smallest transforming figure of Movie Scorponok yet. He features a better-proportioned robot mode and better articulation for the legs than the Deluxe Class version. In fact, he's one of the best articulated Legends-sized toys to date. Even his claw hands are able to rotate. He does bear a resemblance to a previous version, though. The only version of the mold released thus far comes packed with a slightly redecoed Legends Class Bumblebee. Face it, he should've come with Voyager Blackout.
*Scorponok (Deluxe Class, 2007)
**Japanese ID number: MD-04

: Scorponok is a robotic scorpion. His body is covered in military warning and command designation markings, suggesting he forms part of a larger military vehicle (hint, hint). Two wheels on the bottom of his beast mode, when pushed along a flat, smooth surface, rotate gears that cause the turbines in his body and the pincers on his arms to spin. His tail features a spring-loaded, yet non-launching stinger that extends when a latch is released.

: In beast mode, Scorponok can combine with the underside of Blackout's helicopter mode to exploit the larger Decepticon's own gear gimmick system. A geared shaft linked to Blackout's rotor mechanism connects to a geared peg on Scorponok's back. Thus, pressing the button on Blackout's tail not only rotates his blades, but also rotates Scorponok's pincers and the turbines in his body. (This can also be done with Blackout's Revenge of the Fallen redeco Grindor, his retool Evac and Evac's Revenge redeco Whirl.) This gimmick can also be activated (more easily) by rotating the geared wheels on Scorponok's undercarriage instead.

: Deluxe Scorponok can transform into what might be charitably called a robot mode, but was most likely added as an afterthought to the design for added play value (and possibly so Hasbro could actually justify selling the toy as a "Transformer" by itself). The later Legends Class toy features a considerably better-executed bipedal robot mode. In any case, this robot mode never appears in the movie, but does appear briefly in the second Target-sponsored Movie Prequel comic and in The Reign of Starscream issue 1.
Notes
Sentience and relationship to Blackout and Grindor
* In the 2007 movie, Scorponok is a silent hunter-killer sent by Blackout. This has caused some conflicting depictions in the fiction and toy bios of Scorponok's level of intelligence. Some present him as being barely alive and merely an animalistic drone, and this is a commonly accepted view. After all, non-humanoid Transformers aren't important or noteworthy. Another bio, by contrast, describes him as having leadership ambitions, and his Titan Magazines profile implies strongly that he fakes being a bestial drone to give him a psychological edge. Finally, his Battle Bio on Hasbro's website would come down on him having sentience by having Scorponok record his own personal data track!

* In the feature "From Script to Sand: The Skorponok sic Desert Attack" on the movie's bonus DVD, production designer Jeff Mann suggested that Scorponok was "birthed" from Blackout, thus suggesting that he might be more of an autonomous extension of Blackout himself, similar to Roller. Screenwriter Roberto Orci later confirmed that as far as he was concerned, Scorponok was something between a symbiont and a "drone", rather than a fully fledged character. The Ghosts of Yesterday novel would go on to unambiguously identify him as a symbiont.

*In a USA Today interview for Revenge of the Fallen, Roberto Orci stated that the Decepticons with "animal" forms didn't speak in the movies because it would be "strange" for audiences to hear Scorponok's English accent.

* According to writer Roberto Orci on the official Transformers Movie board, Ravage was originally going to appear in the movie (back when Blackout was still supposed to be Soundwave), but was later changed to Scorponok when the setting of the opening scene was changed from jungle to desert. This would imply that Scorponok's scorpion is indeed the robot mode (in the same fashion Ravage's panther mode was the robot mode), whereas his "alternate mode" is actually a part of Blackout's engine. The toys' robot modes are therefore an afterthought on behalf of Hasbro to avoid the paradox of non-transforming "Transformers" toys.

* Exactly which parts of Blackout turn into Scorponok is a little unclear. The center of his body appears to be made of a General Electric T64 turboshaft engine; his transformation/separation sequence in the movie shows that his forearms are made up of part of the side exhausts, and therefore also consist of parts of T64 engines. How this is possible, considering an MH-53 Pave Low only features two T64 engines, is up to anyone's guess.

* Meanwhile, the various markings found on the CGI model's design, the life-sized props and Hasbro's Deluxe toy are taken from all kinds of places on Blackout's helicopter mode, most prominently the cockpit and the tail. Some of those markings can also be found on props used for the scene which features the US Navy dumping the Decepticons' remains into the ocean. Considering Blackout didn't appear to be missing any integral parts of his alternate mode in the movie's final act, it seems that either Scorponok reattached himself to Blackout after he escaped the US Air Force's counterattack in Qatar (and was therefore part of Blackout during the final battle), or Blackout somehow magically regrew the parts that were previously made up by Scorponok.

* Scorponok's sudden appearance during the battle at the end of Revenge of the Fallen leaves the audience to assume he was simply chilling in the desert for two years! In all fairness, considering all the generics in the film, it could have been Grindor's Scorponok, because Blackout's Scorponok lost a tail and this Scorponok has one. Grindor and Blackout have the same robot mode, so they might have the same kind of pet.

*During the build up to the release of Dark of the Moon, Hasbro put up a bio of Laserbeak (DOTM) that revealed he and all the other animal alt-form robots from the films except Scorponok were examples of reengineered Cybertronian wildlife. Whether Scorponok's exclusion was due to space issues, oversight, or if he was purposely singled out as being different from the others is unknown...

Other
* A leaked early draft of the script spells his name "Skorponok". That spelling is also used by Alan Dean Foster's novelization of the movie and in the menus for the movie's bonus DVD (most notably the featurette named "From Script to Sand: The Skorponok Desert Attack"). Hasbro themselves used the traditional spelling "Scorponok" for their toys, even though a wallpaper on Hasbro's website spells the name "Scorponock". Meanwhile, in interviews, Michael Bay constantly refers to him as "Scorponox", and a preorder listing for the movie score even uses the spelling "Skorpinok". Come on, people! It's not like his name's Mxyzptlk. (Even though misspelling Scorponok's name is not quite unprecedented.)

* Real physical props of Scorponok's head and tail were made by ILM's crew for certain scenes, most notably Lennox and Epps's examination of the tail leftovers on the plane. The head prop was used in the close-up of Scorponok stalking the SOCCENT survivors.

* Speaking of real: The famous shot of Scorponok leaping from the sand in pursuit a trio of soldiers, the shot used in a lot of the promos? Scorponok is the only element of CGI in that shot. The sand-explosion behind the soldiers is real, caused by carefully timed explosives placed under the dunes, which certainly must have encouraged the actors to run like hell—the looks of fear on their faces are 100% genuine. The overwhelming majority of explosions, flying cars, and broken buildings in the movie are similarly real effects, not CGI.

* Besides Frenzy, Scorponok is the only Transformer in the 2007 movie whose name is not spoken or stated in any way. <small>Well, arguably Brawl fits in that category too...</small>
* Scorponoc was highly expected to appear in Revenge of the Fallen. Still he got the shortest screentime among all the Decepticons. There you happy Long Haul?

The garbage disposal bot is an evil Appliancebot who can conceal himself in the form of a garbage disposal. He's homicidal pretty much from birth, made of blades, and that's about all we know.

*An early concept drawing of the garbage disposal robot was created by artist Paul Ozzimo. While it did not end up becoming the design the film used, it was used for the garbage disposal bot's design in the tie-in book When Robots Attack!.
*The Garbage Disposal bot is similar to the Paper Shredder from the Disny movie G- Force. The Paper Shredder is however WAY more menacing...
