:Jetfire is a comrade from the Animated continuity family.

Jetfire and his twin brother Jetstorm are part of a risky Autobot Elite Guard experiment in duplicating the flight and combat abilities of the Decepticons. What the Autobots got were two incredibly rambunctious, cocky, and oddly naive robots with devastating combat power and acrobatic skill. Jetfire, true to his name, has the ability to create massive bursts of flame in both robot and jet modes. However, his accuracy and judgment as to when to use this power are questionable at best. Thankfully, he actually listens to Sentinel Prime's orders to throttle down once they get on his nerves (which is often).

The twins also have the ability to combine into a superjet, or into the robot Safeguard... modes that makes them even more physically powerful, but no less prone to acting without thinking.

Jetfire was a simple repair bot who, along with his brother Jetstorm, nearly died in an on-site accident. Viewed by the Elite Guard as completely expendable, Jetfire and his brother were chosen to have Decepticon coding (acquired from Starscream during his time in custody) grafted onto their Autobot shells in hopes that the pair would gain the Decepticons' flight abilities. Wheeljack, Perceptor and Red Alert did the necessary calculations and programming needed. After this, the pair's combat abilities were tested against Jazz, whom they easily defeated.

To try their combat skills against a Decepticon, Starscream's programming was scanned into a combat simulator. However, Starscream's programming overpowered the training system, and the battle became real. Starscream's strength and cunning were more than they expected; Jetfire briefly lost control of his flame throwers and began to burn up, only to be saved when Jetstorm's wind turbines put out the flames. With newfound determination, the two combined into Safeguard for the first time and destroyed the virtual Decepticon. After this performance, Jetfire and his brother were inducted into the Elite Guard. First (and Second) in Flight

Later, Jetfire, along with his brother, Jazz, and Sentinel Prime, were sent by Longarm Prime to chase after the supposed Decepticon spy Wasp. Pursuing their quarry to Earth, the twins soon found a Wasp-disguised Bumblebee, whom Wasp intended to frame by swapping paint jobs, helmets and voices, and Jetfire was able to make at least one fireball attack before Jetstorm accidentally (and literally) blew Bumblebee away. They then were confronted by Optimus Prime and Ratchet, who mistook them for Decepticons due to their ability to fly. After a set of one-on-one battles with Optimus & Ratchet (with Jetstorm facing Optimus and Jetfire facing Ratchet, respectively), the two combined into Safeguard to try and gain the upper hand, only to have the brawl end when Sentinel and Jazz arrived and cleared up the misunderstanding. Then, under Sentinel's orders, the twins set out to find Wasp once more.

They later found him with Bulkhead and Prowl, who tried to convince them that Wasp had swapped places with Bumblebee, but to no avail. The twins assumed all three to be traitors and attacked them. The long battle was once again broken up by the others, who had become at least partly convinced of Bumblebee's true identity. The group quickly headed back to the Autobots' base to try and sort out the matter. During the fighting, however, Wasp had hacked into the Autobots' files on Bumblebee, allowing Wasp to know everything about him. Bulkhead decided to settle it with a game of Ninja Gladiator to determine the real Bumblebee. Jetfire and Jetstorm were so delighted by the concept of video games that they both shouted that they would play the winner. This would not happen, as Wasp revealed his true identity under the pressure. Where Is Thy Sting?

Later, Jetfire was asked by his brother to take a picture of him in front of the captured Blitzwing for the "Femme-bots back home". Sentinel Prime then asked them to work on their ship's "sub-space guidance gyro-stabilizer", but they could not get it to work, and they discovered the replacement part was missing. They later witnessed Sentinel give Prowl a telling-off for accusing him of working with someone else to capture fugitive Decepticons, which Sentinel denied. That night, Prowl followed Sentinel to the Tigatron Stadium, and Jazz brought Jetfire, Jetstorm, and Optimus Prime as backup. When Sentinel was captured by Ramjet, Jetfire & Jetstorm combined into Safeguard in order to help get their commander back from Decepticon clutches. Five Servos of Doom

Shortly afterward, Wasp went on a psycho-rampage through the city, so Jetfire, along with Jetstorm, Sentinel, Optimus Prime, and Bumblebee, went after him. During the pursuit, Jetfire and his brother tried unsuccessfully to prevent Wasp being abducted by Swoop. Sentinel then commanded them to launch an electromagnetic grapple, with which they hauled their commander all the way to Dinobot Island. Upon arriving (and dropping Sentinel head-first into the sand), Jetfire and Jetstorm were assigned to distract the Dinobots so Sentinel could gain entrance to Blackarachnia's base. While Jetstorm dealt with Grimlock and Snarl, Jetfire took on Swoop, engulfing the Dinobot in flames. When Waspinator was overloading with transwarp energy, Jetfire & Jetstorm helped get a weakened Sentinel Prime to safety. Later, Jetfire and his brother taunted Sentinel about his hatred of both Earth and organics, only to be ordered back aboard their ship. Predacons Rising

En route home, the Elite Guard flagship was about to head through a highly charged cloud of space debris, so Jetfire was commanded to watch the ship's energon readings to make sure the ship didn't run out of power. When the Decepticons managed to break into the bridge of the ship, Swindle easily managed to capture the twins in an energy bubble using a stasis-suspension ray. Thankfully, Optimus managed to transwarp onto the ship after getting an encrypted message from Sentinel, and he freed Jetfire and the rest of the Elite Guard from the stasis-cuffs the Decepticons had slapped on them. Later, after Lugnut managed to P.O.K.E. a hole in the ship, Jetfire & Jetstorm combined into Safeguard's jet-mode in order to combat the Decepticons in space. Once Blitzwing had managed to capture Sentinel, Optimus convinced both Jetfire and Jetstorm to surrender, assuring them that things would be okay. The Decepticons placed Jetfire and the others into the ship's decontamination chamber to be frozen. It turned out that Optimus had secretly commanded Jazz to rewire the chamber so everyone OUTside it was frozen. Thus the Decepticons were re-captured and Jetfire was spared an icy incarceration. Decepticon Air

When Ratchet and Fanzone were transwarped to Cybertron, Jetfire and the rest of the Elite Guard found them outside of Maccadam's Old Oil House. Then a Decepticon-controlled Omega Supreme appeared over Cybertron, and Sentinel ordered that Ratchet and Fanzone be brought back to the Metroplex, so Jetfire and his brother proceeded to apprehend Ratchet. When Ratchet threatened Sentinel for suggesting firing on Omega Supreme, Jetfire and Jetstorm were ordered to arrest both Ratchet and Fanzone, but Fanzone's sneeze scared them so badly that Ratchet was able to knock them aside. Jetfire and Jetstorm were then ordered to divert all energon to Fortress Maximus, in case Megatron attacked. When Shockwave got away with Arcee and boarded Omega Supreme, Jetfire and his brother were ordered to fire on the giant Autobot, but Omega Supreme transwarped away. Jetfire and Jetstorm later witnessed Sentinel get a telling-off from Alpha Trion and saw Ratchet and Fanzone commit "intergalactic grand theft" by taking the Magnus Hammer back to Earth with them. This Is Why I Hate Machines

Together with Jetstorm, Jetfire pursued the Decepticon Blackout all the way to the Earth city of Detroit. Enthusiastic (and posing like he was in a rap video), Jetfire proceeded to attack Blackout in robot-mode, amused that the hulking brute was too big to fight back against such small, quick opponents. Jetfire then combined with Jetstorm into Safeguard and proceeded to fight Blackout bruiser-to-bruiser. The Cool Episode 4

Jetfire then hooked back up with the rest of the Elite Guard and joined in their inquiry of Optimus Prime as to why he and his crew were still on Earth. The Cool Episode 5

Back on Cybertron, Jetfire and his brother joined Sentinel and a throng of Autobots in welcoming the victorious Optimus Prime and his crew home. The Cool Episode Final
*Jetfire and Jetstorm (Entertainment Pack, 2008)

: Available only in a twin-pack with his brother Jetstorm, Jetfire transforms into a white and orange Cybertronic wedge-shaped jet. He features pop-up "fire blades" in his robot mode armor. He can combine with his brother in both modes; in vehicle mode, they form an odd super-jet simply by docking together along their undercarriages (Yes, yes, har har, very droll), while Jetfire's robot mode forms the right half of the super robot Safeguard.

:In a clever touch, both feet are sculpted on the back to look like fists (to make the toy more symmetrical), but only one of them actually can become an arm.

:Both Jetfire and Jetstorm can flip open their cockpits. Nice. Pointless, but nice.

: The set comes with a bonus comic book, "Rise of Safeguard", which details the creation of the twins. For some reason, the comic included in the box contradicts their bio printed on the box.
Notes
* Both twins speak with a thick Russian accent. Also, both brothers mangle the english language.

* Jetfire and Jetstorm's fire/wind theme has its roots in some of the earliest concepts of Animated. Sean Galloway, who had been commissioned to do early concept work for the series, revealed several pieces of this concept art long before the "final" Derrick Wyatt-designed characters were shown. Among these images were a pair of "fire and wind" robots who have a few features that made it into the jet-twins' final designs.

* The twins' method of combination is seemingly an homage to Hyōryū and Enryū/Chōryūjin from the final installment of Takara's Brave Series, King of Braves GaoGaiGar.

* In the early stages of the toy's development, the end of the twins' combined vehicle mode is supposed to split apart and wings are supposed to slide out of the shins, so that the combined mode resembles an X-wing fighter.

* Derrick J. Wyatt had no input over Jetfire's name, as the twins were largely the work of Eric Siebenaler; Wyatt only did a "once-over" of their aesthetics to match the rest of the series near the end of their development cycle. That's the reason why Animated Jetfire does not have a more "traditional" Jetfire design. As such, Wyatt said that if he ever did an homage to the original Jetfire's design, he would gladly call the character "Skyfire".

* Perceptor's dialogue in the "Rise of Safeguard" comic implies that Jetfire and Jetstorm were split from one protoform, possibly making Safeguard their true form. Such a theory is supported by Safeguard's being unnaturally intelligent for a combiner, and his possessing of his own alternate mode.

* In a conversation with one of his fans on a piece of fan art on his Deviantart page, The Boo, who worked on the first half of the "Rise of Safeguard" comic, revealed that Jetfire and Jetstorm's original vehicle modes were similar to ATVs instead of cycles or other types of vehicles. He also said this was due to their working in the industrial sector. [1]
They did however combine to fight Ramjet when Sentinel's stupid ego-trip backfired on him.Five Servos of Doom
Jetstorm, along with Jetfire, later proceeded to assist Sentinel Prime, Optimus Prime, and Bumblebee in capturing Wasp, and when Wasp escaped, and was captured, Jetstorm, along with Jetfire, was tasked with carrying Sentinel all the way to Dinobot Island. Predacons Rising

While on the return trip to Cybertron, Sentinel decided to take the ship through a storm cloud, with Jetstorm ordered to "Maintain this heading". Unfortunately though, the electricity from the storm awakened Swindle, who, in turn, freed the rest of the captive Decepticons. Jetstorm and Jetfire eventually ended up contained in a bubble from Swindle's "Stasis-Suspension Ray", and left in a prison-cell on the Steelhaven to rot. However, Sentinel sent out a message to Optimus Prime for back-up, who managed to transwarp to the ship, and free all of the Autobots. Just then Lugnut managed to P.O.K.E a hole in the ship, causing everyone (except Jazz) to be sucked into space. Jetstorm and Jetfire then proceeded to combine into Safeguard's jet mode, and take on Lugnut. After Sentinel was captured by Blitzwing, they, along with Optimus Prime, surrendered. They were put into the decontamination chamber (which Optimus ordered Jazz to turn into a freezing unit), and as the Decepticons were about to freeze them, it was revealed that Jazz had set it so that anything outside the chamber would be frozen, and in this case, that was the Decepticons. The Elite Guard then proceeded to drop Optimus off on Earth, and Jetstorm and Jetfire witnessed Sentinel's Magnus inauguration parade.Decepticon Air

Jetstorm was later present when Sentinel Prime attempted to scold Ratchet and Captain Fanzone for seemingly breaking Cybertronian curfew (Man, Sentinel's strict) and using a Space Bridge. He then, along with Jetfire, assisted in bringing Ratchet back to the Metroplex. Jetstorm was later ordered to divert all energon to Fortress Maximus, to be used as a weapon against the Decepticon-controlled Omega Supreme. They did actually fire the weapon after Shockwave boarded the vessel with his hostage, Arcee, but the giant Autobot transwarped away. This Is Why I Hate Machines
Together with Jetfire, Jetstorm pursued the Decepticon Blackout all the way to the Earth city of Detroit. Enthusiastic (and posing very, er, effeminately), Jetstorm proceeded to attack Blackout in robot-mode, amused that the hulking brute was too big to fight back against such small, quick opponents. Jetstorm then combined with Jetfire into Safeguard and proceeded to fight Blackout bruiser-to-bruiser. The Cool Episode 4
*Jetfire and Jetstorm (Entertainment Pack, 2008)

: Available only in a two-pack with his brother Jetfire, Jetstorm transforms into a blue, wedge-shaped Cybertronic jet. He features pop-up "wind blades" in his robot mode armor. He can combine with his brother in both modes; in vehicle mode, they form an odd super-jet simply by docking together along their undercarriages (Yes, yes, har har, very droll), while Jetstorm's robot mode forms the left half of the super robot Safeguard.

:In a clever touch, both feet are sculpted on the back to look like fists (to make the toy more symmetrical), but only one leg actually can become an arm.

: Both Jetfire and Jetstorm can flip open their cockpits. Nice. Pointless, but nice.

: The set comes with a bonus comic book, "Rise of Safeguard", which details the creation of the twins. For some reason, the comic included in the box contradicts their bio printed on the box.

* Both twins speak with a pronounced Russian accent. Also, both brothers mangle the english language.
* Jetstorm's design, revealed at 2008, contains numerous homages to the Beast Machines Vehicon general Jetstorm, particularly his helmet.
* The twins' method of combination is seemingly an intentional homage to Hyoryū and Enryū/Chōryūjin from the final installment of Takara's Brave Series, King of Braves GaoGaiGar.
* In the early stages of the toy's development, the end of the twins' combined vehicle mode was supposed to split apart and wings were supposed to slide out of the shins, so that the combined mode resembled an X-wing fighter. However, this did not appear in the released instructions.
* Perceptor's dialogue in the "Rise of Safeguard" comic implies that the twins were split from one protoform, possibly indicating that Safeguard is their true form.
* In a conversation with one of his fans on a piece of fan art on his Deviantart page, The Boo, who worked on the first half of the "Rise of Safeguard" comic, revealed that Jetfire and Jetstorm's original vehicle modes were similar to ATV's instead of cyclebots or other types of vehicles. He also said this was due to their working in the industrial sector.<ref>
Sentinel Prime has incredible success capturing fugitive Decepticons, leading Prowl to suspect he's getting help.

Synopsis
In the dead of night, the Autobots steal through the streets of Detroit, on the trail of a Decepticon energy signature. With the source of the signal cornered, Prowl makes his move and dives through a window, only to find that the signal is coming from a signal beacon and that the Autobots have been tricked. To make matters worse, Sentinel Prime has disappeared, and the Autobots spread out to search for him. During the search, Optimus Prime spots an unfamiliar shadow and follows it around a corner...to find the sycophantic Starscream clone, captured and stasis-cuffed by Sentinel Prime. They take the prisoner back to the Elite Guard's ship, where Optimus is stunned to discover that Sentinel has also recently captured Blitzwing and Swindle as well.

Jetstorm and Jetfire are eager to know how Sentinel managed to apprehend the Starscream clone, as is Optimus, but Sentinel gets defensive and tells Optimus it does not concern him. Prime confides in Prowl his suspicion that Sentinel is hiding something, and tells about the strange shadow he saw. Back at the Autobot plant, the pair consult computer records to see if Optimus can identify the distinctive helmet the robot was wearing, and when they find one that fits the bill, the stunned Prowl flashes back to his past on Cybertron…

:The helmet belongs to Yoketron, the ninja master who trained Prowl centuries ago. Attempting to dodge the draft during the Great War, Prowl was apprehended by Elite Guardsman Warpath and placed into the care of Yoketron, who saw potential in him and offered to train him in exchange for the charges against him being dropped.

Optimus pulls Prowl out of his ruminations, and the ninja-bot silently speeds back to the Elite Guard ship to converse with Jazz, another of Yoketron's old students. The pair suspect that their old sensei may somehow be on Earth, capturing Decepticons, and that Sentinel is taking the credit. Sentinel walks in on the middle of the discussion and laughs off the notion that Yoketron is even still online, before departing on another patrol. Knowing that something is not right, Jazz and Prowl shadow Sentinel, but when Sentinel rounds a corner and disappears, Prowl lapses into his memories once again, recalling when Yoketron taught him that it was the robot himself, not his tools, that made the ninja. With nothing left to do, the pair return to the Elite Guard's ship, where Jetfire and Jetstorm are working to repair their communications system.

The two brothers, who are struggling to get the ship's gyro-stabilizer working, tell the ninjas that Sentinel is waiting for them in the brig, and Jazz and Prowl are amazed to see that Sentinel has brought in Lugnut! As Sentinel gloats, Prowl calls him on the unlikelihood of the whole scenario and accuses him of having "help". The ninja-bot points out the missing weapons on all the Decepticons, and notes that only one bot that he knows of takes trophies from his victims, but Sentinel silences him by revealing that he has removed Lugnut's "Punch of Kill Everything" and placed it in a storage compartment in that very hallway. Embarrassed, Prowl leaves, and Sentinel turns on Optimus, telling him to keep Prowl in line, lest he "bust him back to protoform". The word echoes down the hallway, and Prowl pauses…

:As Prowl's skills increase under Yoketron's tutelage, he is deemed worthy of a weapon by his master and is given his shuriken. Yoketron leads Prowl into a chamber containing holographic busts of his greatest students, but one plinth is empty—a spot, Yoketron reveals, previously held by a former student who disgraced the cyber-ninja corps. Prowl is amazed when Yoketron uses a technique known as "processor-over-matter" to open the far wall of the chamber with the power of his mind, revealing a greater chamber beyond, its walls lined with protoforms that the Cyber-Ninja Corps has been charged with protecting. Yoketron challenges Prowl to close the chamber using processor-over-matter, but Prowl is unable to accomplish the task, and Yoketron sends him on an "optics quest" to find his center and become a true cyber-ninja.

Prowl's trip down memory lane is cut off as Sentinel comes down the hallway. He uses his hologram projector to disguise himself as a cabinet and listen in as Sentinel talks with parties unknown over his communicator. Prowl alerts Jazz before trailing Sentinel to Tigatron Stadium, where he learns that his suspicions were correct: Sentinel is working with Lockdown, who is wearing Yoketron's helmet! Prowl busts up the prisoner exchange, but it is soon revealed that Lockdown has double-crossed Sentinel, having been made a better offer by Ramjet. Lockdown and Prowl engage in battle, and Lockdown reveals that he was also a student of Yoketron...

:Returning from his unsuccessful optics quest, Prowl discovers that Yoketron's dojo has been attacked, the protoforms almost all stolen, and Yoketron himself fatally wounded. As Yoketron's spark begins to fade, Prowl recovers one of the remaining protoforms and places his master's spark in it, saving Yoketron's life. Yoketron, however, is appalled by his student's actions; one must never sacrifice a piece of the future in order to save a piece of the past. When Prowl's time comes, Yoketron tells him, he too will understand. As Prowl looks on, Yoketron allows his spark to fade out.

At last, all is clear to Prowl: Lockdown led the attack on the dojo and took the protoforms! Prowl pins Lockdown and demands the return of Yoketron's helmet; Lockdown appears to comply, but the helmet has been booby-trapped and binds Prowl in a tangle of cables. The captured Prowl is taken to Lockdown's ship, where the bounty hunter intends to remove his jump jets and holo-projector in order to complete a duplicate set of the armor that he loaned Prowl during their last encounter. Lying on Lockdown's "operating table", Prowl concentrates, and at last masters processor-over-matter, freeing his body from the cables with the power of his mind.

Meanwhile, Optimus Prime, Jazz, Jetfire and Jetstorm have arrived to rescue Sentinel Prime from the clutches of the Starscream clone, but the fight is not going well, as the clone uses Sentinel for a shield most of the time. The clone takes to the air, but Prime blinds him with a faceful of foam, and he crashes into the middle of the stadium field, dropping Sentinel head-first into the ground.

Back aboard Lockdown's ship, the bounty hunter turns to discover that Prowl has freed himself and donned both Yoketron's helmet and the armor, knowing that he will be able to handle its power this time because of the lesson he has finally learned: It is the ninja-bot, not the weapon. The two engage in battle once more, and their fight soon carries them out of the ship and into the middle of the other fight going on in the field outside. Optimus Prime and Jazz are in the process of dropping the stadium's scoreboard onto the Starscream clone, but Prowl and Lockdown get in the way at the last second, before they can stop the giant screen's tumble. As the dust clears, Optimus and Jazz discover that Prowl has used processor-over-matter to protect the combatants from the debris. Optimus quickly stasis-cuffs the Starscream clone, but Lockdown gets away.

A little later, everyone has returned to the Elite Guard ship, where Jetstorm and Jetfire open a communications channel with Cliffjumper on Cybertron. Cliffjumper tells the Autobots about Shockwave's attack on Ultra Magnus, and rather than add to the trouble, Prime refrains from reporting Sentinel's misconduct, instead simply informing Cliffjumper of the capture of the Decepticons on Earth, crediting Prowl. Sentinel thanks Optimus for covering for him, but Optimus promises that once everything is done, he and Sentinel will have it out.

Back at the Autobot base, Jazz compliments Prowl on his armor, and tells him that Yoketron would be proud to have him wear his helmet. Prowl vows to do everything he can to be worthy of it.
*It's not technically an error, since Prowl has always remained quiet on his history and could just have been holding back from correcting anyone, but this episode reveals that he was online during the Great War, prior to the creation of Omega Supreme, where previous episodes have suggested that none of the main Animated Autobot cast, except for Ratchet, were around back then. Notably, this makes Prowl older than Optimus Prime, which... sits ill, at best.
*The dialogue exchanged between Prowl, Jazz and later on Sentinel Prime, suggests that Master Yoketron mysteriously disappeared, and nobody apparently knew whether or not he was online for sure. Later on in the episode, (during Prowl's final flashback), Master Yoketron clearly dies in the presence of Prowl, making one wonder why the Autobots seem to be in the dark with his status.
*On a related note, this also means that Jazz was active in the Cyber-Ninja Corps during the war, apparently long before Sentinel even came online (much less joined the Elite Guard). Even ignoring Sentinel's various flaws, this raises legitimate questions about just how promotions are handed out in the Elite Guard.
*Swindle is still in one piece, despite a certain cop telling the Autobots he would be stripped down and sold at an auction.
*Lockdown has never mentioned Prowl's fighting before, referred to any cyber-ninja training, or, perhaps most noticeably, worn Yoketron's helmet prior to this episode. The latter may have been meant to be explained by Lockdown's stated interest in Prowl's use of the samurai armor during their last encounter, however it's still a little clunky.
*By much the same token, given what a big point Prowl makes of Yoketron's helmet being distinctive enough in shape to be recognizable even in shadow, it seems a little odd in retrospect that he made no comment regarding the strong similarity to his former master's helmet when he first saw the previous "samurai" helmet he got from Lockdown.
*The protoform in this episode is a whole lot different than the one featured in "TransWarped". This new look will remain constant for the rest of the series.

Continuity notes
*Prowl performed the titular "Five Servos of Doom" technique back in "The Elite Guard".
*Swindle is still stuck in vehicle mode after the events of "SUV: Society of Ultimate Villainy".
*Prowl's samurai armor was previously seen in "A Fistful of Energon", in which Lockdown last appeared. Additionally, it was in that episode that Starscream escaped from the Elite Guard flagship, which is the "last time" that Sentinel refers to while arguing with Optimus.
*As of this episode, we've seen all the Cybertronian modes for the five main Autobots.
*And, as of this episode, all the main 'bots have had flashback episodes (counting "Autoboot Camp" for both Bulkhead and Bumblebee).
*Prowl's keeping of his new armor continues the trend started in "TransWarped" with Bumblebee and Ratchet that upgrades are okay now because damnit, this is war. This is a notable turnaround from the position of the first two seasons.

Transformers references
*Yoketron is named for Takara's lead designer, Hideaki Yoke.

*In addition to Yoketron and Jazz, the busts in Yoketron's little "hall of fame" depict Animated incarnation of various Transformers that have otherwise not appeared in the series (yet?). Those clearly visible onscreen include Springer, Sky Garry, Devcon, Dai Atlas, Heavy Load, Star Upper and Roadhandler, but there are many more busts in the room that are only seen from a distance, and are essentially unidentifiable. Derrick J. Wyatt has identified the other Transformers as Ultra Magnus, Star Saber, Tap-Out, Kick-Off, Grandus, Motorarm, Powerhug and Road Rocket.
** Additionally, Wyatt classifies the characters as being specialists in different categories, namely Fencing/Swordfighting/Melee Weapons (Star Saber, Magnus, Dai Atlas, Springer) , Boxing/Kick-Boxing/Street-Fighting (Tap-Out, Star Upper, Sky Garry, Kick-Off, Devcon), Sumo/Wrestling (Grandus, Motorarm, Powerhug and Roadhandler) and Martial Arts/Ninja (Yoketron, Jazz, Heavy Load and Road Rocket). These classifications speak for themselves more often than not (no explanation is needed for the melee-weapon characters, nor for someone like Star Upper, who was all about boxing), but sometimes the rationale is a bit more obscure (Heavy Load, for instance, was only ever noted to be a martial artist in his bio; it never came across in the cartoon), or is a reference to some past fiction (Roadhandler being classified as a wrestler is the main example, being that it's a reference to his stint in the squared circle from the Marvel Comics story, "The Interplanetary Wrestling Championship!"). Conversely, sometimes it's just a joke—Grandus as a sumo, for instance, is purely a gag based on the fact that he's a big fatty fat-fat.
*Tigatron Stadium!
*Lockdown identifies Prowl's techniques as Metallikato and Circuit-Su.
*Yoketron's Spark container is similar to design to Big Convoy's Matrix, with two L-shaped handles instead of U-shaped ones. Fitting, when one considers Yoketron's Japanese-based aesthetic.
*One of the upgrades seen on Lockdown's shelves is Soundwave's G1 shoulder-mounted missile launcher.
*The protoform Prowl takes from the room has a design similar to the ones in Beast Wars.
*Also, the protoform-pods-or-whatever-they-are-called on the walls look like the stasis pods from the same franchise...where the protoforms were guarded as well! Coincidence? Perhaps...
*Master Yoketron's dying words to Prowl are rather foreshadowing....

Real-world references
*The title of the episode is apparently derived from the 1972 Hong Kong martial arts movie Five Fingers Of Death. The movie's name is a regular source of recycling, including wrestler Bret Hart's "Five Moves Of Doom" and the mockumentary 18 Fingers Of Death to name a few.
*Tigatron Stadium is named after and largely based on Tiger Stadium, the former home field of the Detroit Tigers, which has been partially demolished.

Trivia
*Like the previous episode, this episode received an early online debut when a copy loaded onto the Cartoon Network website server, intended to go live after the episode premiered, was leaked out on March 27, over a week before the episode premiered on television.
*The voice cast for this episode does not credit David Kaye with the role of Cliffjumper.
*Having three faces warrants three mouth clamps, it seems, as the animation depicts the mouth clamps on Blitzwing's faces rotating when he switches personality. Interestingly, you can still see some of the smile of crazy Blitzwings face
*While trying to identify the helmet Optimus Prime saw, Prowl brings up the images of the helmets worn by Ultra Magnus and Blitzwing on the computer.
