The Seal of Primus is a seal around the life-force of [[Primus]] that keeps him in a perpetual state of slumber to prevent [[Unicron]] from ever knowing his location. Primus is a multiversal constant, meaning he exists in all universes he inhabits simultaneously. If Unicron ever found out where Primus was and destroyed him, Primus would no longer exist, meaning that his only opposition would be dead and the [[Matrix of Leadership]] would no longer work.

While Primus was "killed" in the Marvel comics adaptation, it may have just been his physical avatar in that universe, and not the collective of Primus's true consciousness, the [[Allspark]].

In the Dreamwave Armada Comics Crossover [[Worlds Collide]], Armada Optimus Prime was drawn into a reality where Unicron had destroyed Cybertron and sent its beaten version of Optimus Prime forward to the Armada Universe as a "calling card." If Primus was dead here, then Primus could potentially die and have that particular Universe "lost" to Unicron, yet he continues to exist in other Universes. Perhaps this is the true struggle between Unicron and Primus, where they have fought to defend or consume each universe up until the [[Unicron Trilogy]] events which threatened the Multiverse.

Of course, there's also the possibility that it's a BIG GLARING PLOT HOLE.

Superstar '''Patrick "The Transman" Lee''' (''AKA:'' "ミチヤメノテヒフナナ", ''Michiyamenotehi Funana'', ''b.'' June 28, 1975- ) is a Canadian artist. He was the president of [[Dreamwave Productions]] until all its employees noticed he wasn't paying them. He was also the president of Dreamengine Productions until all its employees noticed he wasn't paying them either. He's currently the president (?) of Pat Lee Productions, where it remains to be seen if he notices he isn't paying himself.

He regrets setting a hill on fire and wants something real, a thing called...love.

He believes that the Transformers cartoon was so amazing that it was only a matter of time before the toys were made.

He has a brother, Roger, who was one of the founding members of Dreamwave, and also one of the few people who remained loyal to him when Dreamwave went under. The website for Dreamengine was even registered under Roger's name.

A '''personal canon''' (or, more correctly, '''personal continuity''') is one fan's interpretation of the Transformers mythos. This can range from picking and choosing stories and characters that he or she favors and assembling them as he or she likes, to discarding one or two discerned distasteful properties from an otherwise accepted continuity.

For example, one's personal canon could be:
* The first two seasons of the ''Generation 1'' animated series, but not including the movie or subsequent seasons.

A '''redeco''', or recolor, is a toy which uses the same molds as a previously-released toy, but has been reproduced with different plastic colors and/or different paint applications.

For example: the first three [[Generation 1]] [[Seeker]]s, [[Starscream (G1)|Starscream]], [[Thundercracker (G1)|Thundercracker]], and [[Skywarp (G1)|Skywarp]], are redecos.

A redeco uses exactly the same tools or molds as the original toy. If any changes have been made, even something as simple as giving the toy a different head or additional pegs for locking body parts into place, it is more properly categorized as a [[retool]].

The term "[[repaint]]" is also in wide use among fans as a synonym for "redeco". "Redeco", however, is the term used by the people on [[Hasbro]]'s ''Transformers'' team. Additionally, the term "repaint" is technically wrong in almost all instances of a same-mold-new-colors toy, as typically more than the paint applications are changed when a toy is redecoed.

==Why redecos?==
The single most expensive step in making a Transformers toy is making the steel-cut molds required to hold then cool molten plastic. Add to this the salaries of the designers and engineers, and there is a very considerable expense involved in making a single new-mold toy. Many of these development expenses are not involved in making a redeco, giving the company a chance to make a larger profit on a single mold and put more product on the shelves with a smaller investment.

Another reason is that the toy market moves far, far faster today than it did when the line first started. Retailers do not like product to linger, and shipping older toys in new assortments can give the impression that some items simply do not sell. (Of course, some don't anyway, but that's beside the point.) With this much shorter sales window in mind, companies use redecos to keep molds in use longer (to help make back the money spent in development plus a worthwhile profit), and oftentimes keep popular characters still in circulation while maintaining a "fresh" look on the shelves, making the retailers happy.

Members of the [[Hasbro]] Transformers team have repeatedly pointed out that they never expected anyone to ''buy'' all the redecoes made; [[Aaron Archer]] was apparently baffled by the premise.

==Redecoes as exclusives==
Most [[exclusive]] toys, be they for conventions or stores, are redecos and [[retool]]s of previously-released toys. (To date, all exclusives that used previously-unreleased molds are toys that had been developed for normal retail, but were temporarily in "limbo" when their intended toylines were ended.)

The simple reason for this is, again, cost; making the steel molds is prohibitively expensive, as well as the engineering and so forth. Because most exclusives are produced in numbers far less than a normal retail toy, there are less units to amortize what production costs ''do'' remain, which means the toys must either sell for more to cover costs and make a worthwhile profit, or the profit margin per item must be reduced, or even both at once.

While it is certainly not outside the realm of possibility that a major retail chain might get a new-mold toy as an exclusive (as they can move thousands and thousands of units nationwide over several months), the odds of a convention getting one are almost nonexistent due to these cost considerations, as the production runs of these toys rarely reach even 1000. At most, therefore, one can expect a few [[retool]]s of select parts from a toy, often a new-mold robot mode head.
