The Transformers (cartoon)

58.111.197.120:

More than any other of the many media which Transformers have invaded in the past 20+ years, it is the original cartoon (1984-1987) which captured the imagination of children and children-at-heart worldwide. This cartoon set up the basic story of Transformers that all other incarnations were to follow: two warring factions of robots on the planet Cybertron leave in search of resources. The factions crash-land on Earth and, millions of years later, begin their battle anew in Reagan-era America and across the globe. Through its 98-episode run this series took viewers to many strange places and times: the alien Cybertron, the Earth's prehistoric past, the Earth's then-future of 2005, the Metropolis-like society of Nebulos, and more. It is not the best animated series ever to air, but it stimulated viewers with its concept at the time, and continued to do so in the years to come.

Note: These episodes are listed in production order rather than original airdate. In a few instances, this means that episodes are not in the correct chronological story order, the specifics of which are noted in their own articles. Note that Season 3, in particular, suffers from this - the Rhino DVD release of the season reordered the episodes in question so that they were in order, but also reordered many episodes that did not have any placement problems, throwing off the whole shebang. Conversely, the R2 Metrodome release of the season just reorganized the problematic ones. <br>
Note: The Transformers: The Movie (1986) is part of this series, taking place between Season 2 and Season 3.
As he was released only in Japan, his spring-loaded missile launcher is fully operational. Several factory-applied decals on the original version were replaced by painted tampographs, like his headlamps.

: The base mold is also used for Clamp Down, Deep Cover and Red Alert.
Trivia
* Like many of the e-Hobby exclusives, Tigertrack's coloration is based on a pre-Transformers Diaclone variation of the mold.
* According to early Transformers media and his bio, Sunstreaker (originally called Spin-Out) should look like Tigertrack. This is presumably owing to confusion between the Diaclone colours and the switched final colouring of Sideswipe and Sunstreaker.
Marvel Comics continuity
Ethan Zachary was a human computer programmer who oversaw a game of Multi-World between Optimus Prime and the Protectobots against Megatron and the Combaticons with the hydrothermocline energy generator as the prize. He eventually saved Prime's entire memory and personality onto a floppy disk (no, really) in the wake of Prime's subsequent death. Afterdeath!

Zachary later resurfaced and gave the disk to Goldbug, Slapdash, Joyride and Getaway so that they could have a new Powermaster body built for Prime. Pretender to the Throne!
