Finally got myself this lil guy today for a couple of pounds. Great articulation in robot mode with ball joints in many places, nice chunky alt mode with a gun turret that can be aimed up and down and 360 degrees rotation and an interesting and fairly complex transformation scheme. Amazing work on some of these scout class figures like this are somewhat more impressive than many larger figures. Does anyone know why the Groundshaker name was dropped though? In the year 2006, the Predacons were dispatched to Jupiter's moon, Io, to stop a marooned Autobot team from reaching Earth with [[Metroplex (G1)|Metroplex]]'s [[transformation cog]]. Arriving on the moon, Razorclaw ordered his fellow Predacons to attack before charging himself. Chasing after [[Blurr (G1)|Blurr]] in beast mode, Razorclaw nearly fell into a ravine when the Autobot shot him in the face as he attempted the jump. Grabbing hold of the side with his foreleg, he dragged himself up and rejoined his teammates to merge into their combined form, Predaking. Unfortunately, the mighty [[Sky Lynx (G1)|Sky Lynx]] soundly defeated the giant, scattering him into the Predacon component members. Later, the Predacons were drawn into the [[Quintesson|Quintessons]]' experiments using [[Daniel Witwicky (G1)|Daniel Witwicky]]'s dreams to destroy the Transformers. Razorclaw and [[Springer (G1)|Springer]] were captured by a dragon, which took them to a castle. There, a princess offered them [[gold]] if they freed her. While Springer declined the gold, Razorclaw's interest was piqued. Whether this means gold is valuable among the Decepticons, or if Razorclaw just likes shiny things, is unspecified. In typical fashion, Razorclaw sat down and decided to try and break out when the guards came. However, Springer came up with a plan that allowed them to escape and went to fight the dragon. Razorclaw decided to let Springer fight the dragon himself, but the princess urged Razorclaw to help if only to save himself. Razorclaw served as Springer's mount as he charged the dragon, killing it. When the Decepticons invaded [[Paradron]], Razorclaw and [[Brawl (G1)|Brawl]] were on guard duty when [[Sandstorm (G1)|Sandstorm]] escaped from the brig, and the normally relaxed Predacon commander eagerly charged out of the barracks at the thought of tearing apart an Autobot. He leapt ahead of Sandstorm on a narrow bridge and knocked him off the edge into a deep chasm. The lousy [[Triple Changer]] transformed to avoid splattering, though, and escaped his pursuers. {{storylink|Fight or Flee}}

Razorclaw was among the [[Primitive|Primitives]] who were summoned by [[Primacron]]'s [[Oracle (G1)|assistant]] to fight [[Tornedron]], greatly objecting to Sky Lynx's leadership of the group. While fleeing Tornedron, Headstrong declared that it would be better to die fighting. Razorclaw agreed, and ordered the Predacons to form Predaking. Razorclaw and the Predacons were part of Galvatron's strike force on Cybertron in 2011, seeking to wrest control of [[Vector Sigma]] from the Autobots. Along with the [[Headmaster (technology)|Headmasters]] and [[Stunticon (G1)|Stunticons]], the Predacons outmaneuvered the [[Dinobot (G1)|Dinobots]] and [[Throttlebot]]s into the bottom of a canyon, and began firing down upon them. {{storylink|Four Warriors Come out of the Sky}} Later, the Predacons traveled to Earth in order to stymie Hot Rod's attempt to locate the [[Matrix of Leadership]]. [[Scourge (G1)|Scourge]] and [[Cyclonus (G1)|Cyclonus]] felt the need to prove themselves to the new leader, and so they approached Razorclaw about teaming up to steal the [[Solar 1]] satellite the humans and Autobots were working on. Razorclaw agreed, and assembled the Predacons as Predaking. Suspecting Megatron was unstable, Shockwave contacted Razorclaw on Cybertron and enlisted the aid of a mercenary-like band of Decepticons, the Predacons. Equipping them with Autobot insignia panels, he sent them to Earth via a Space Bridge in the Florida Everglades. There, Razorclaw led the Predacons against Megatron, who had been led to believe Optimus Prime still lived and assumed he sent the Predacons against him thanks to the Autobot insignia. Despite the prowess of the Predacons and fighting Megatron as Predaking, Megatron still defeated the Predacons. {{storylink|Gone but Not Forgotten!}}

Razorclaw returned later, leading the Predacons under the flag of [[Ratbat (G1)|Ratbat]], leading raids for fuel. [[Rapid Anti-robot Assault Team|RAAT]] had in their possession at the time the six Autobot [[Throttlebot|Throttlebots]] and, with [[Forrest Forsythe]] refusing to believe the Autobots and Decepticons were separate factions, issued an ultimatum that one more attack would lead to the Throttlebots' execution. After the inevitable Decepticon attack and the Autobots' execution, Razorclaw led his team in storming [[Intelligence and Information Institute|I.I.I.]]'s base to check if the Autobots had really been killed; in the process, Razorclaw not only shot dead a guy who was running away, he also quite happily informed I.I.I. that the Autobots were a separate faction after all. Which is just rubbing it in.

When it became clear the Autobots' brain modules had been removed before death, the Predacons chased the "fuel scent" of the brain modules across the area, attacking the Throttlebots (who were trapped in toy-car forms) and their human allies. Despite his misgivings, Razorclaw took part in the Autobot/Decepticon alliance against the [[Cybertronian (faction)|Cybertronian Empire]]. During the battle, he began to suspect the Decepticons' newest recruits were insufficiently committed to the Decepticon cause, particularly [[Manta Ray (G2)|Manta Ray]]. Razorclaw tried to maul [[Nautilator]] when he was intruding on the Predacons' piece of the [[Gladiator Zone]], but was blasted off and ordered the Predacons to tear the [[Seacon (G1)|Seacon]] apart. The fight soon led to a battle between Predaking and [[Piranacon (G1)|Piranacon]], but the two giants were interrupted when [[Serpentor|Serpent O.R.]] approached them to recruit them into his new Decepticon army. {{storylink|The Art of War issue 2}} After the Predacons helped Serpent O.R. capture a group of Autobots and [[G.I. Joe (team)|G.I. Joes]], Razorclaw reported to his leader that their [[magno-lock]]s would be more than enough to hold the prisoners. [[Soundwave (G1)|Soundwave]] used [[Bombshell (G1)|Bombshell]] to subvert the will of [[Beachcomber (G1)|Beachcomber]], forcing the Autobot to make an assassination attempt on [[Blaster (G1)|Blaster]], "The Voice" of the Autobot cause. And so, just as the Autobot forces were gathering around their transmitters, waiting for the pre-scheduled broadcast that would never come, Razorclaw caught them off-guard with a massive full-frontal assault on the enemy trenches. Besides his Predacons, he led [[Darkwing]], [[Dreadwind (G1)|Dreadwind]], [[Needlenose]], [[Spinister (G1)|Spinister]], and even the mighty [[Trypticon (G1)|Trypticon]] himself into battle. After [[Thunderwing (G1)|Thunderwing]]'s reactivation and subsequent return to [[Cybertron (planet)|Cybertron]], Megatron dispatched the Predacons to ensure that his defeat was final this time, giving Razorclaw explicit instructions: if Cybertron must be destroyed, then so be it. {{storylink|Stormbringer issue 3}} Razorclaw started a countdown on an orbital bombardment powerful enough to destroy Cybertron, but had Rampage at the console with his finger on the button, ready to cancel it in the event that Thunderwing was defeated. He remarked that he was hesitant to destroy Cybertron unless it was absolutely necessary, but was willing to do it rather than defy Megatron. In respect for the desperate Autobot defense, he dispatched a team under [[Divebomb (G1)|Divebomb]] and Headstrong to assist their enemies in fighting Thunderwing, but ordered them to return at the five cycle mark, intending to destroy everybody on the surface. A while later, Razorclaw attacked [[Hot Rod (G1)|Hot Rod]] when he invaded the Decepticon base. This had the unexpected effect of putting Razorclaw under Hot Rod's control, which the Autobot used to his advantage by ordering the Predacon to attack Starscream. [[Sky Lynx (G1)|Sky Lynx]], who is carrying [[Hot Rod (G1)|Rodimus Prime]], [[Ultra Magnus (G1)|Ultra Magnus]], [[Blurr (G1)|Blurr]], and [[Perceptor (G1)|Perceptor]], detects a disturbance nearby and discovers [[Galvatron (G1)|Galvatron]] bashing on some strange disk. They also detect a [[Quintesson]] [[Quintesson spacecraft|ship]] heading for that same location. Perceptor speculates that the Quintessons don't want Galvatron meddling with the disk, so Rodimus decides to meddle with the [[Decepticon]]s and the Quintessons.

At the disk, Galvatron continues bashing away, taking a moment to bash [[Cyclonus (G1)|Cyclonus]] when he warns the [[Decepticon leader]] that the Quintessons are approaching. The Quintessons fire at Galvatron and are thankful that the [[quadrant lock]] is not damaged. However, the [[Autobot|Autobots]] then arrive. The Quintessons refuse to let the Autobots learn anything about the lock...unless, say, they learn from the other side. Opening the lock, the Quintessons drive their ship through, taking Rodimus, Magnus, Blurr, and Perceptor with them. Unwilling to let the Autobots learn its secrets, Galvatron throws Cyclonus at them so he is also drawn through the lock, which closes. Unfortunately for the Quintessons, their [[isolator key]] has been damaged, and it is the only thing that can open the quadrant lock. However, Perceptor has a [[universal emulator]], which could serve as a replacement.

Falling into the gravity well of the nearby planet [[Zamojin (planet)|Zamojin]], Perceptor announces that he is suffering from [[transformation]] [[Transformation paralysis|paralysis]], and is stuck in [[Alternate mode|microscope mode]]. However, the other Autobots do not respond. On the planet, members of a primitive, humanoid civilization see their descent. One man declares that the "[[Quintesson|devils]]" have returned. However, a blacksmith outside the city sees them and goes to investigate, recovering Perceptor. Meanwhile, the Autobots are not doing so well after their crash-landing. Rodimus and Magnus hit the trees, which are as hard as rocks, while Blurr hit an actual rock and is so injured he cannot walk. Rodimus tells him to lean on "fearless [[Prime (rank)|leader]]", while Magnus wonders where Perceptor crashed.

At his hut, the blacksmith removes Perceptor's [[insignia]], which also contains his universal emulator. Having tracked Perceptor's descent, the Quintessons dispatch a pair of [[Sharkticon (G1)|Sharkticons]] to deal retrieve the scientist, but someone follows them. The blacksmith places Perceptor's insignia on a small, female robot called [[Nijika]]. The Sharkticons arrive, but the blacksmith fights them off, damaging their armor with his bare hands. (Holy [[Slag (slang)|slag]]!) Meanwhile, Perceptor, having taken control of Nijika, asks the blacksmith, named [[Katsu Don]], what is going on. Perceptor learns that the [[Zamojin (species)|Zamojin]] were once advanced and that they had developed interstellar travel, protected by the guardian [[Kodu Ri]]. Katsu Don's ancestor, [[Niko Don]], built Nijika as an exploration drone, hoping to make contact with other races. However, the Quintessons attacked, damaging Kodu Ri and Nijika, then sealed them with the quadrant lock, which blacked out the stars. The Zamojin were reduced from technologically advanced to primitive within a very short amount of time and have been that way since. Perceptor concludes that something about the Zamojin terrified the Quintessons so much that they locked them in this part of space, and now he and Katsu Don need to warn the latter's people that the Quintessons have returned.

Elsewhere, Rodimus, Magnus, and Blurr are moving, but Blurr is slowing them down. (That's a turnaround.) Blurr tells them to leave him and find Perceptor, as only he can repair Blurr. Though not happy, they agree. This proves a mistake, for moments later, a band of warriors finds Blurr. On the Quintesson ship, the Quintessons are debating what to do. One of them will have to go to the surface, but if a single Zamojin damaged two Sharkticons, [[Furmanism|what chance do they have?]] Cyclonus appears and offers them a deal: Give Galvatron the secrets of the quadrant lock, and he will go with one of them to retrieve Perceptor. Looking for Perceptor, Rodimus and Magnus are attacked by a group of warriors but are able to drive them off. They locate Perceptor's body, but without the emulator, he is offline. Rodimus and Magnus decide to search the city.

At the city of [[Tozin]], the Zamojin are preparing to melt Blurr, but he is not that worried. Cyclonus shouts out "burn him", inciting the Zamojin to lower him in. For a Con who shows no emotion, Cyclonus has apparently studied mob psychology. However, the [[Zamojin Empress]] commands them to stop. She reveals Perceptor/Nijika, who tries to explain the situation. However, the Quintesson shouts that the doll is malfunctioning, but Cyclonus grabs Perceptor and orders the Quintesson to bring their ship.

Katsu Don grabs Cyclonus's legs, and is carried into the Quintesson ship, where the remaining Quintesson traps him with some electrified headgear. The Quintesson orders Perceptor to hand over the emulator, or Katsu Don will die. Perceptor complies, while the other Quintesson shoots Blurr's rope, causing him to fall into the molten liquid...which he describes as a nice soak that is repairing his injuries. Blurr jumps out, with Rodimus and Magnus following. Blurr frees Katsu Don, while Magnus takes on Cyclonus. Rodimus throws Katsu Don out, while Blurr grabs the emulator and Magnus takes Cyclonus, who follows after the Quintessons.

The Zamojin Empress fears what the Quintessons will take, but Perceptor, now in his real body, says that the Quintessons are about to give the Zamojin something. The Quintesson ship passes through the quadrant lock...and it fades, revealing the stars. Perceptor sabotaged the lock, and the Autobots realize the Zamojin's technology is telepathic in nature and powered by starlight. The intelligence of the Zamojin advances rapidly, and they repair Kodu Ri. As Sky Lynx lands, Perceptor asks Katsu Don if he will continue his ancestor's research. Katsu Don vows that Perceptor will meet Nijika again...out among the stars.

The animation, however, almost totally fails to convey this, having the Cybertronians tower over the largely un-costumed Zamojins, who are mostly just wearing some little face masks. Furthermore, the animation mistakenly colors the masks flesh-toned, almost completely hiding the fact they're wearing them at all.

* Rodimus and Magnus decide to leave the injured Blurr, rather than carrying him. Doesn't Magnus remember that he turns into a car carrier?

Taking Sam and [[Mikaela Banes]] into custody, he got too into the bad cop role, threatening Sam with life imprisonment, threatening Mikaela's father's parole, and revealing Mikaela's own criminal record. This strategy nearly succeeded...until a seriously pissed off [[Optimus Prime (Movie)|Optimus Prime]] decided to pay Sam and Mikaela's bail—by jumping right in front of their SUV, lifting it off the ground, and tearing the roof off. Although Simmons tried to call for calm, the [[Autobot|Autobots]] easily disarmed the agents. To Simmons's credit, he himself remained calm, while the guy to his left looked like he was going to wet himself.

Prime attempted to interrogate Simmons, who revealed that the only communication he was authorized to have with the N.B.E.s was to tell them he wasn't authorized to communicate with them. He also refused to answer any questions from Sam and Mikaela about Sector Seven or how they knew of the Autobots. Annoyed by his attitude, [[Bumblebee (Movie)|Bumblebee]] released [[lubricant]] on him, and then Mikaela had Simmons strip as punishment for threatening her father. Simmons had little to worry about when he was handcuffed to a pole, as a fellow agent had already alerted their confederates. Most of the Autobots managed to elude Sector Seven, but Bumblebee was captured when he saved Sam and Mikaela from a fall.

After arriving at [[Hoover Dam]] (and presumably taking the ''longest'' shower of his life), Agent Simmons, in a new, clean, and higher-in-authority uniform, and trying the awkward role of good cop, told Sam and Mikaela that they may have gotten off on the wrong foot. Taking them to see the [[Megatron (Movie)|Mega Man]], Simmons was told of Megatron's plans by Sam. Taking the guests to see the Cube, Simmons and Banachek then took their guests to see a demonstration of the Cube's power. [[Robert Epps|Sergeant Epps]] noticed some claw marks on the walls of the containment room, asking if [[Freddy Krueger]] had been here. Glen Whitmann responded that the three claw marks indicated that it was [[Wolverine (superhero)|Wolverine]], chuckling. Simmons replied that that his comment was very funny, without any humor at all. Glen then donated his Nokia cellphone, and Simmons commented on how the Japanese's knowledge of the Samurai earned respect (Nokia is actually based in Finland). Funneling the Cube radiation into the containment box, the cellphone [[Nokia-bot|came to life]], but nearly broke the box, forcing Simmons to unleash a massive electrical surge to kill the damn thing. He seemed to enjoy the whole experience.

However, [[Frenzy (Movie)|Frenzy]] had infiltrated the dam and sent a message to the [[Decepticon|Decepticons]], causing [[Starscream (Movie)|Starscream]] to attack. Sam urged Simmons to release Bumblebee, saying he would help, but Simmons stubbornly refused. [[William Lennox|Captain Lennox]] decided to apply some armed persuasion, which Simmons still refused to heed, leading to a standoff between the rangers and Sector Seven agents. Finally, the rangers won when [[John Keller|Secretary Keller]] advised Simmons to comply. This in turn caused an argument between the Twins, which turned physical, damaging the ancient ruins they were in. However, the fight revealed the Tomb of the Primes behind the wall they cracked, with the Matrix... which crumbled to dust, after Sam tried to gain possession of it.
