The Dark of the Moon toyline coincides with the third film in Michael Bay's live-action film series. The line is divided into three brandings: the MechTech line for Deluxe, Voyager, Leader, Ultimate and Human Alliance class size toys; the Cyberverse subline featuring Legends Class characters, Commander Class (new price point sized between Legends and Scouts) and play sets; and Robo Power, a catch all line for various merchandise including role play.
Finally got myself this lil guy today for a couple of pounds. Great articulation in robot mode with ball joints in many places, nice chunky alt mode with a gun turret that can be aimed up and down and 360 degrees rotation and an interesting and fairly complex transformation scheme. Amazing work on some of these scout class figures like this are somewhat more impressive than many larger figures. Does anyone know why the Groundshaker name was dropped though? His alt mode does seem like a clear homage to the Micromaster vehicle though I suppose not the actual Micromaster guy himself 86.31.29.187 07:33, 30 March 2011 (EDT)
:Razorclaw is a Decepticon Predacon from the Generation 1 continuity family.

Know that when the Predacons are on the hunt, their leader Razorclaw is all business. Every drop of fuel in his system and every thought in his processor are dedicated to the task at hand, and he often lies in wait, completely motionless, for long stretches of time. Fools confuse this for laziness. Many of them have become his prey.

Like all the Predacons, Razorclaw revels in the hunt. And the only thing he appreciates more than an easy kill is one earned in battle with worthy prey. In these situations, Razorclaw prefers to face his foe with honor. It costs him little to give them a well-earned moment of dignity, as their ultimate fate will remain the same.

He and his fellow Predacons can combine to form Predaking.
In the year 2006, the Predacons were dispatched to Jupiter's moon, Io, to stop a marooned Autobot team from reaching Earth with Metroplex's transformation cog. Arriving on the moon, Razorclaw ordered his fellow Predacons to attack before charging himself. Chasing after Blurr in beast mode, Razorclaw nearly fell into a ravine when the Autobot shot him in the face as he attempted the jump. Grabbing hold of the side with his foreleg, he dragged himself up and rejoined his teammates to merge into their combined form, Predaking. Unfortunately, the mighty Sky Lynx soundly defeated the giant, scattering him into the Predacon component members. Razorclaw ran off, to the protests of Headstrong, when Sky Lynx fired upon him. Five Faces of Darkness, Part 5

Later, the Predacons were drawn into the Quintessons' experiments using Daniel Witwicky's dreams to destroy the Transformers. Razorclaw and Springer were captured by a dragon, which took them to a castle. There, a princess offered them gold if they freed her. While Springer declined the gold, Razorclaw's interest was piqued. Whether this means gold is valuable among the Decepticons, or if Razorclaw just likes shiny things, is unspecified. In typical fashion, Razorclaw sat down and decided to try and break out when the guards came. However, Springer came up with a plan that allowed them to escape and went to fight the dragon. Razorclaw decided to let Springer fight the dragon himself, but the princess urged Razorclaw to help if only to save himself. Razorclaw served as Springer's mount as he charged the dragon, killing it. After shutting down the experiments, Razorclaw decided to finish off the Autobots, but Headstrong couldn't transform into beast mode, and Razorclaw ordered the Predacons to retreat. Nightmare Planet
When the Decepticons invaded Paradron, Razorclaw and Brawl were on guard duty when Sandstorm escaped from the brig, and the normally relaxed Predacon commander eagerly charged out of the barracks at the thought of tearing apart an Autobot. He leapt ahead of Sandstorm on a narrow bridge and knocked him off the edge into a deep chasm. The lousy Triple Changer transformed to avoid splattering, though, and escaped his pursuers. Fight or Flee

Razorclaw was among the Primitives who were summoned by Primacron's assistant to fight Tornedron, greatly objecting to Sky Lynx's leadership of the group. While fleeing Tornedron, Headstrong declared that it would be better to die fighting. Razorclaw agreed, and ordered the Predacons to form Predaking. They got their energy sucked from them for their troubles. Call of the Primitives
Razorclaw and the Predacons were part of Galvatron's strike force on Cybertron in 2011, seeking to wrest control of Vector Sigma from the Autobots. Along with the Headmasters and Stunticons, the Predacons outmaneuvered the Dinobots and Throttlebots into the bottom of a canyon, and began firing down upon them. Four Warriors Come out of the Sky Later, the Predacons traveled to Earth in order to stymie Hot Rod's attempt to locate the Matrix of Leadership. Razorclaw's unit found the former Autobot leader in the Arctic, but were held off by Blaster, his Mini-Cassettes, and Superion. The Mystery of Planet Master Razorclaw and the Predacons were among the Decepticons Galvatron brought with him to the planet Beast, although they were absent during the Autobot attack that drove the Decepticons off. Rebellion on Planet Beast

When the Autobots created a new kind of metal on Cybertron called Cybertonuron, Galvatron wanted to claim it for himself. He sent Razorclaw and the Predacons to Cybertron as an advance guard to pave the way for his forces. They mowed down Cybertron's standing guardians and began to wreak havoc on the planet. Cybertron Is in Grave Danger, Part 1 Once the Autobots arrived from Earth, Razorclaw was confronted by Shōki and the Trainbots. His attempts to intimidate the Light-Speed Commander failed utterly, and a fight broke out. Scourge and Cyclonus felt the need to prove themselves to the new leader, and so they approached Razorclaw about teaming up to steal the Solar 1 satellite the humans and Autobots were working on. With Daniel Witwicky and Wheelie missing, the Trainbots tagged out with the Autobot Headmasters to go looking for them. Razorclaw gave the order and Predaking was formed. As Megatron's paranoia reached its peak, Soundwave suggested that they enlist the help of the Predacons to flush out Optimus Prime, allowing Megatron to finally defeat him. However, Shockwave called them from Cybertron, and gave Razorclaw secret orders to turn on Megatron at a crucial moment. The Predacons successfully hunted down Optimus, and when Megatron arrived, as Shockwave ordered, they turned on him. Prey! After learning of Shockwave and the Predacons' betrayal, Megatron summoned a space bridge to Cybertron to escape, but Prime flung them both through the bridge before it had fully materialized. The Harder They Die!

Suspecting Megatron was unstable, Shockwave contacted Razorclaw on Cybertron and enlisted the aid of a mercenary-like band of Decepticons, the Predacons. Equipping them with Autobot insignia panels, he sent them to Earth via a Space Bridge in the Florida Everglades. There, Razorclaw led the Predacons against Megatron, who had been led to believe Optimus Prime still lived and assumed he sent the Predacons against him thanks to the Autobot insignia. Despite the prowess of the Predacons and fighting Megatron as Predaking, Megatron still defeated the Predacons. Gone but Not Forgotten!

Razorclaw returned later, leading the Predacons under the flag of Ratbat, leading raids for fuel. RAAT had in their possession at the time the six Autobot Throttlebots and, with Forrest Forsythe refusing to believe the Autobots and Decepticons were separate factions, issued an ultimatum that one more attack would lead to the Throttlebots' execution. After the inevitable Decepticon attack and the Autobots' execution, Razorclaw led his team in storming I.I.I.'s base to check if the Autobots had really been killed; in the process, Razorclaw not only shot dead a guy who was running away, he also quite happily informed I.I.I. that the Autobots were a separate faction after all. Which is just rubbing it in.

When it became clear the Autobots' brain modules had been removed before death, the Predacons chased the "fuel scent" of the brain modules across the area, attacking the Throttlebots (who were trapped in toy-car forms) and their human allies. The Predacons were outrun by the Autobots in their remote control toy bodies and were about as effective as Tantrum was at making it through the mall's china shop. Toy Soldiers!
Razorclaw rose high in the Decepticon ranks, coming to serve as a kind of general, leading large numbers of troops against the Autobots. He also retained command of the Predacons, which became an elite&mdash;and feared&mdash;tactical unit. Spotlight: Shockwave After the Battle of Thunderhead Pass, Razorclaw was involved in a Decepticon scheme to demoralize the Autobots and claim as much of their territory on the planet as possible. And so, just as the Autobot forces were gathering around their transmitters, waiting for the pre-scheduled broadcast that would never come, Razorclaw caught them off-guard with a massive full-frontal assault on the enemy trenches. Besides his Predacons, he led Darkwing, Dreadwind, Needlenose, Spinister, and even the mighty Trypticon himself into battle. After Thunderwing's reactivation and subsequent return to Cybertron, Megatron dispatched the Predacons to ensure that his defeat was final this time, giving Razorclaw explicit instructions: if Cybertron must be destroyed, then so be it. Stormbringer issue 3 Razorclaw started a countdown on an orbital bombardment powerful enough to destroy Cybertron, but had Rampage at the console with his finger on the button, ready to cancel it in the event that Thunderwing was defeated. He remarked that he was hesitant to destroy Cybertron unless it was absolutely necessary, but was willing to do it rather than defy Megatron. In respect for the desperate Autobot defense, he dispatched a team under Divebomb and Headstrong to assist their enemies in fighting Thunderwing, but ordered them to return at the five cycle mark, intending to destroy everybody on the surface. He canceled the countdown with one second remaining, after Optimus Prime defeated Thunderwing. Stormbringer issue 4
This had the unexpected effect of putting Razorclaw under Hot Rod's control, which the Autobot used to his advantage by ordering the Predacon to attack Starscream. ==Synopsis==

Sky Lynx, who is carrying Rodimus Prime, Ultra Magnus, Blurr, and Perceptor, detects a disturbance nearby and discovers Galvatron bashing on some strange disk. They also detect a Quintesson ship heading for that same location. Perceptor speculates that the Quintessons don't want Galvatron meddling with the disk, so Rodimus decides to meddle with the Decepticons and the Quintessons.

At the disk, Galvatron continues bashing away, taking a moment to bash Cyclonus when he warns the Decepticon leader that the Quintessons are approaching. The Quintessons fire at Galvatron and are thankful that the quadrant lock is not damaged. However, the Autobots then arrive. The Quintessons refuse to let the Autobots learn anything about the lock...unless, say, they learn from the other side. Opening the lock, the Quintessons drive their ship through, taking Rodimus, Magnus, Blurr, and Perceptor with them. Unwilling to let the Autobots learn its secrets, Galvatron throws Cyclonus at them so he is also drawn through the lock, which closes. Unfortunately for the Quintessons, their isolator key has been damaged, and it is the only thing that can open the quadrant lock. However, Perceptor has a universal emulator, which could serve as a replacement.

Falling into the gravity well of the nearby planet Zamojin, Perceptor announces that he is suffering from transformation paralysis, and is stuck in microscope mode. However, the other Autobots do not respond. On the planet, members of a primitive, humanoid civilization see their descent. One man declares that the "devils" have returned. However, a blacksmith outside the city sees them and goes to investigate, recovering Perceptor. Meanwhile, the Autobots are not doing so well after their crash-landing. Rodimus and Magnus hit the trees, which are as hard as rocks, while Blurr hit an actual rock and is so injured he cannot walk. Rodimus tells him to lean on "fearless leader", while Magnus wonders where Perceptor crashed.

At his hut, the blacksmith removes Perceptor's insignia, which also contains his universal emulator. Having tracked Perceptor's descent, the Quintessons dispatch a pair of Sharkticons to deal retrieve the scientist, but someone follows them. The blacksmith places Perceptor's insignia on a small, female robot called Nijika. The Sharkticons arrive, but the blacksmith fights them off, damaging their armor with his bare hands. (Holy slag!) Meanwhile, Perceptor, having taken control of Nijika, asks the blacksmith, named Katsu Don, what is going on. Perceptor learns that the Zamojin were once advanced and that they had developed interstellar travel, protected by the guardian Kodu Ri. Katsu Don's ancestor, Niko Don, built Nijika as an exploration drone, hoping to make contact with other races. However, the Quintessons attacked, damaging Kodu Ri and Nijika, then sealed them with the quadrant lock, which blacked out the stars. The Zamojin were reduced from technologically advanced to primitive within a very short amount of time and have been that way since. Perceptor concludes that something about the Zamojin terrified the Quintessons so much that they locked them in this part of space, and now he and Katsu Don need to warn the latter's people that the Quintessons have returned.

Elsewhere, Rodimus, Magnus, and Blurr are moving, but Blurr is slowing them down. (That's a turnaround.) Blurr tells them to leave him and find Perceptor, as only he can repair Blurr. Though not happy, they agree. This proves a mistake, for moments later, a band of warriors finds Blurr. On the Quintesson ship, the Quintessons are debating what to do. One of them will have to go to the surface, but if a single Zamojin damaged two Sharkticons, what chance do they have? Cyclonus appears and offers them a deal: Give Galvatron the secrets of the quadrant lock, and he will go with one of them to retrieve Perceptor. Looking for Perceptor, Rodimus and Magnus are attacked by a group of warriors but are able to drive them off. They locate Perceptor's body, but without the emulator, he is offline. Rodimus and Magnus decide to search the city.

At the city of Tozin, the Zamojin are preparing to melt Blurr, but he is not that worried. Cyclonus shouts out "burn him", inciting the Zamojin to lower him in. For a Con who shows no emotion, Cyclonus has apparently studied mob psychology. However, the Zamojin Empress commands them to stop. She reveals Perceptor/Nijika, who tries to explain the situation. However, the Quintesson shouts that the doll is malfunctioning, but Cyclonus grabs Perceptor and orders the Quintesson to bring their ship.

Katsu Don grabs Cyclonus's legs, and is carried into the Quintesson ship, where the remaining Quintesson traps him with some electrified headgear. The Quintesson orders Perceptor to hand over the emulator, or Katsu Don will die. Perceptor complies, while the other Quintesson shoots Blurr's rope, causing him to fall into the molten liquid...which he describes as a nice soak that is repairing his injuries. Blurr jumps out, with Rodimus and Magnus following. Blurr frees Katsu Don, while Magnus takes on Cyclonus. Rodimus throws Katsu Don out, while Blurr grabs the emulator and Magnus takes Cyclonus, who follows after the Quintessons.

The Zamojin Empress fears what the Quintessons will take, but Perceptor, now in his real body, says that the Quintessons are about to give the Zamojin something. The Quintesson ship passes through the quadrant lock...and it fades, revealing the stars. Perceptor sabotaged the lock, and the Autobots realize the Zamojin's technology is telepathic in nature and powered by starlight. The intelligence of the Zamojin advances rapidly, and they repair Kodu Ri. As Sky Lynx lands, Perceptor asks Katsu Don if he will continue his ancestor's research. Katsu Don vows that Perceptor will meet Nijika again...out among the stars.
Notes
Animation or technical glitches
* When the Quintesson ship moves past the Autobots into the quadrant lock, it seems mighty small.
* There is, somewhat obviously, no room in Nijika's head for the universal emulator to fit — but it does anyway.
* In one shot of Ultra Magnus and Rodimus driving towards the city, Rodimus is colored black.

Continuity errors
* A crowd of Zamojins gathered to watch Blurr's execution is apparently supposed to feature some of their number costumed as the hated five-faced demons and their robot servants, thus explaining why Cyclonus and the Quintesson can just stand around in the middle of the crowd that hates their kind. The animation, however, almost totally fails to convey this, having the Cybertronians tower over the largely un-costumed Zamojins, who are mostly just wearing some little face masks. Furthermore, the animation mistakenly colors the masks flesh-toned, almost completely hiding the fact they're wearing them at all.

* Rodimus and Magnus decide to leave the injured Blurr, rather than carrying him. Doesn't Magnus remember that he turns into a car carrier?
* Rodimus and Magnus apparently don't hear Blurr being jumped by a group of angry Zamojin, even though they left him just seconds ago.

Transformers references
* This episode marks the last appearance of Perceptor in the western cartoon.

Trivia
* Blurr speaks at more-or-less normal speed several times in this episode. Apparently soaking in molten liquid really does relax him.
* Sky Lynx transforms to robot mode and the Autobots exit by flying out through his mouth!

* Does anyone else notice that the sounds Blurr makes while he's in the bath are a little...strange?
Taking Sam and Mikaela Banes into custody, he got too into the bad cop role, threatening Sam with life imprisonment, threatening Mikaela's father's parole, and revealing Mikaela's own criminal record. This strategy nearly succeeded...until a seriously pissed off Optimus Prime decided to pay Sam and Mikaela's bail—by jumping right in front of their SUV, lifting it off the ground, and tearing the roof off. Although Simmons tried to call for calm, the Autobots easily disarmed the agents. To Simmons's credit, he himself remained calm, while the guy to his left looked like he was going to wet himself.

Prime attempted to interrogate Simmons, who revealed that the only communication he was authorized to have with the N.B.E.s was to tell them he wasn't authorized to communicate with them. He also refused to answer any questions from Sam and Mikaela about Sector Seven or how they knew of the Autobots. Annoyed by his attitude, Bumblebee released lubricant on him, and then Mikaela had Simmons strip as punishment for threatening her father. Simmons had little to worry about when he was handcuffed to a pole, as a fellow agent had already alerted their confederates. Most of the Autobots managed to elude Sector Seven, but Bumblebee was captured when he saved Sam and Mikaela from a fall.

After arriving at Hoover Dam (and presumably taking the longest shower of his life), Agent Simmons, in a new, clean, and higher-in-authority uniform, and trying the awkward role of good cop, told Sam and Mikaela that they may have gotten off on the wrong foot. Taking them to see the Mega Man, Simmons was told of Megatron's plans by Sam. Taking the guests to see the Cube, Simmons and Banachek then took their guests to see a demonstration of the Cube's power. Sergeant Epps noticed some claw marks on the walls of the containment room, asking if Freddy Krueger had been here. Glen Whitmann responded that the three claw marks indicated that it was Wolverine, chuckling. Simmons replied that that his comment was very funny, without any humor at all. Glen then donated his Nokia cellphone, and Simmons commented on how the Japanese's knowledge of the Samurai earned respect (Nokia is actually based in Finland). Funneling the Cube radiation into the containment box, the cellphone came to life, but nearly broke the box, forcing Simmons to unleash a massive electrical surge to kill the damn thing. He seemed to enjoy the whole experience.

However, Frenzy had infiltrated the dam and sent a message to the Decepticons, causing Starscream to attack. Sam urged Simmons to release Bumblebee, saying he would help, but Simmons stubbornly refused. Captain Lennox decided to apply some armed persuasion, which Simmons still refused to heed, leading to a standoff between the rangers and Sector Seven agents. Finally, the rangers won when Secretary Keller advised Simmons to comply. After Bumblebee reformatted the Cube, Simmons, Secretary Keller, Maggie Madsen, and Glen Whitmann went to the dam's archives, where they tried to send an S.O.S via an old radio. Unfortunately, while the radio itself was working, someone had stolen the microphones. Glen managed to hotwire a computer to send a signal via Morse code, while Simmons and Keller provided cover fire when Frenzy began attacking. Fortunately, the psychotic robot sliced off his own head. Transformers (2007)
IDW Transformers movie comics
Simmons, Banachek and John Keller were on their way to Mission City when Starscream attacked Hoover Dam. The Reign of Starscream Issue Number Two

Arriving shortly after the battle in Mission City, Simmons asked William Lennox and Robert Epps to join Sector Seven; they agreed after Sam inadvertently called Epps while in conversation with Simmons, which sort of ruined Lennox's excuse. The next day, Simmons informed Professor Vine that he had one month to study the defeated Decepticons before they were dumped in the Laurentian Abyss. He also suggested they wake up "sleeping beauty" to see if he had anything to offer. When the scientist worried that Wreckage couldn't be re-activated, especially not since Salazar was lost, Simmons called Lennox, saying the soldier had friends that could "make him" wake up. Alliance issue 1

Before the Autobots arrived at the Nevada desert facility to escort the convoy carrying the Decepticon bodies away, Simmons agreed with Vine about having to dump the Decepticons into the sea, grousing that the aliens turned a city into a battleground and now they had to throw a treasure trove of information away. While they reminisced about how Salazar was able to learn from Wreckage and create the L.M.-1 units, Simmons was dismissive and callous about the sentience of the Cybertronians, refusing to refer to Wreckage by his name, preferring to call him N.B.E.-3. At Optimus Prime's behest, Vine took the surviving AllSpark shard for safekeeping, fearing it might reactivate the dead Megatron.
Simmons and Salani persuaded Vine to take the fragment underground to hide it from any Decepticons that might still be skulking about, but as soon as they entered the main holding chamber, the fragment flew out of Simmons's hands and revived Wreckage. Wreckage rampaged through the base, destroying the L.M.-1s and fighting Starscream in a struggle leading to numerous deaths. Alliance issue 2 While secretly taking Frenzy's head, which had fallen out of Starscream's cockpit, Simmons was left to wonder about the Transformers' sense of morality before being relieved of his duties by John Keller. Alliance issue 3

After Sector Seven was shut down, Simmons was not invited to join NEST, despite his best efforts. Simmons was convinced that it was because he had been mean to that Witwicky kid and his car stealing girlfriend, even though the official reason was concern that he might be a little unstable (probably the actual reason). Convinced that the Autobots were equally attempting to invade Earth, Simmons managed to save (stealing is so pejorative) documents from Sector Seven, as well as Frenzy's head, in the hopes of learning everything he could to stop both factions and save the planet. Although his pension took care of his needs, he decided to work in his mother's deli, where every day he would take orders from people with stupid tastes in Italian meat. One night while working, Frenzy began to spazz out of control and nearly fried the building's electrical system, forcing Simmons to shut him down. After a mild complaint by his landlord, Simmons decided to relocate Frenzy and the documents to the basement of his mother's deli, the safest alternative he could think of. The Veiled Threat

Simmons set up a website, GiantEffingRobots.com, under the alias Robo-Warrior, where he developed a rivalry with The Real Effing Deal. One day, after his hometown of New York City had been attacked by Decepticon protoforms and The Fallen had broadcast a threat across the world, The Real Effing Deals webmaster, Leo Spitz, walked into his deli. Leo tried to be civil about their rivalry, as he recognized he needed Robo-warrior's aid, but Simmons initially feigned ignorance of his site and then began criticizing Leo's work. Then, when Sam Witwicky and Mikaela Banes walked through his door, visibly shocked at whom they were dealing with, Simmons ordered the store closed, then vented further, admonishing Sam over how N.B.E. 01 was still alive and blaming them for the loss of his job.

Once Simmons heard how Sam needed his help, he was prepared to let Sam rot, until Sam mentioned that a crab bot had projected alien symbols from his brain. Realizing what that meant, he opened a hidden stairway in the cold storage room that led to a room filled with classified files (as well as Frenzy's head), which he'd taken for himself before Sector Seven closed its doors. Simmons revealed the Cyberglyphics Sam was hallucinating about could be found all over the globe, a clear sign the Transformers had visited the planet long before the AllSpark and Megatron. Simmons explained he had been keen to investigate evidence of other Transformers lying inert on Earth, but Sector Seven had denied him permission, deeming it an obsession. Mikaela brought Wheelie into the room, and he identified several of the machines in Simmons's photographs as Seekers, who had come to Earth ages ago searching for something.

Journeying to the nearest known Seeker at the Smithsonian, Simmons hatched a plan to get past security after hours that essentially involved him tasering the guards: Simmons was successful in taking down the guard to whom he'd assigned himself, but Leo wound up tasering himself too. Simmons had to drag him to where Sam, Mikaela and Wheelie had detected energon radiation, and they found their Seeker was an SR-71 Blackbird. Sam's AllSpark fragment reactivated the jet, who was actually the former Decepticon Jetfire. The grouchy Seeker used a space bridge to transport them to Egypt, where he told them the story of the The Fallen, the solar harvester, and the Matrix of Leadership needed to power it, which was hidden in the Tomb of the Primes. Jetfire explained the clue they had: "When dawn alights the Dagger's tip, Three Kings will reveal the Doorway". The four humans plus Wheelie, Bumblebee, Skids and Mudflap went searching for the Matrix to resurrect Optimus Prime, the only one who could defeat The Fallen.

Simmons used his intelligence skills to evade detection, as The Fallen's demand for Sam's capture made Sam a wanted man. His history contact in the CIA informed that the Israelites used to call the Gulf of Aqaba "the Dagger", indicating that it was their next destination. He contacted NEST, telling them to bring Optimus's body to Egypt. Then he got Sam across the Jordanian border, mainly because the border guard liked New York and was amiable enough to let his "family" pass. Sam worked out the only clue to the tomb and uncovered the Matrix in Petra. As Leo complained of the lack of answers, Simmons angrily informed him that real life was heart break. This in turn caused an argument between the Twins, which turned physical, damaging the ancient ruins they were in. However, the fight revealed the Tomb of the Primes behind the wall they cracked, with the Matrix... which crumbled to dust, after Sam tried to gain possession of it. Simmons looked on the bright side: without the Matrix, the Decepticons couldn't activate the machine. As Bumblebee drove them back to Egypt, they were attacked by Starscream. Sam ran off to revive Optimus, who was being protected by NEST in ruins near the pyramids, while Simmons played decoy and drove in Skids to a quarry. Simmons relished his supporting role, proclaiming he was "One man, alone, betrayed by the country he loves," despite the fact that Leo was right next to him, and he was driving Skids.

Simmons and Leo were driven by Skids and Mudflap into a quarry near the pyramids, where they witnessed the Constructicons combine into Devastator. Simmons avoided being sucked into the giant's mouth by running for his legs. As Devastator clambered up the Great Pyramid of Giza, realization struck Simmons: the pyramid was built around the machine Jetfire had told them about. He retrieved a radio from a Jordanian helicopter that Megatron had downed, which he used to contact the United States Navy. Simmons followed Devastator up the pyramid-despite Leo's protests-with the radio in hand, wheedling his way around Captain Wilder's tedious demand as to how he knew of their top secret rail gun that were based on studies of the US military. As he climbed the pyramid, Simmons probably became the only human to acknowledge Devastator had two wrecking balls resembling the male scrotum. After the Navy successfully fired on the behemoth, Simmons gained military backup for NEST, whose phone signals had been jammed by Soundwave. After Optimus was raised from the dead and The Fallen's defeat, Simmons was congratulated by Lennox for his aid in bringing down the Decepticons. Revenge of the Fallen (film)
Notes
*According to the director's commentary on the Transformers DVD, Turturro based his performance as Simmons on Michael Bay. If true, then Mr. Bay is indeed crazier than people think.

*In Transformers, Seymour can be seen wearing a cross necklace when Mikaela orders him to undress, implying that he is a Christian. Yet the Revenge of the Fallen novelization suggests that he's a Jew (but with at least one Arab ancestor). The movie itself isn't explicit here; it should be noted, however, that pigs can be seen in the meat locker of his mother's deli. Adding further to the confusion, the prequel novel The Veiled Threat states his mom's first name as Tova, a traditional Jewish name. Did Jews for Jesus reach out to him?
**Then again, it's always possible that his father is Christian.
*Evidently Simmons owns toys produced during the Sector Seven misinformation campaign known as Operation: Hungry Dragon. For some reason, the Micromaster Tailwind was included among Simmon's Revenge of the Fallen props during an auction on October 8 & 9, 2009 held by Profiles in History.
* While filming, Turturro apparently started to weep while filming at the Great Pyramids. He was apparently overwhelmed with the beautiful structures, and how his career had brought him there.
Otherwise, however, the vehicle mode is very accurate to the real prop truck... well, aside from the fact that Ironhide's massive missile launchers are quite visible underneath the vehicle. Confusingly, the instructions omit the exact positioning of the roof panels and rear window on his back, though they can fold into a compact design for maximum articulation.

:In robot mode, his arm-mounted cannons are inactive while mounted on both arms. However, detaching the left arm cannon and combining it with the right arm creates a huge functional missile launcher that is almost as big as Ironhide himself. The missile-launching mechanism itself isn't the typical spring-loaded button design, instead relying on a pressure-launch system to fire the missiles from the four barrels.

:The peg that holds his windshield is prone to cracking, which makes it become loose, and might even result in breakage.

:In robot mode Ironhide is considerably more accurate with gold and gunmetal detailing colors which were missing from the first Voyager release. His large cannons are now molded in mostly black plastic, then painted metallic teal with gold detailing.
But, thanks to the simpler transformation, the hood and wheels trap his arms below the wheel. Like most Cyber Slammers, Ironhide manages to cram most of his vehicle mode's major details into a compact, super-deformed version of that mode. **Accessories: Missile launcher cannon, energy cannon, projectile

: Revenge of the Fallen Voyager class Ironhide is a retool of the toy from the 2007 Transformers movie line. The original arm cannons have been replaced by new, more accurate (and less gimmicky) cannons that can be connected together and mounted on top of Ironhide's truck bed cover. The truck bed cover and arm mountings for this Ironhide's cannons are unchanged from the 2007 movie line voyagers. So any voyager Ironhide can carry and use both the original and new weapons. The large cannon features screwdriving firing action in which the barrel section twists forward before firing the missile. The small cannon can retract its barrel and has a 5mm hole on its underside that allows it to plug into the peg on the large cannon like a scope if so desired. Since the weapons can connect to each other, the figure (and all other uses of this mold) can hold these and the combined 2007 cannons at once. All four cannons can fit on his truck mode as well, the old ones underneath and the new ones on top. Ironhide's head has been replaced with a more accurate, asymmetrical head. Ironhide also features a new grey colour scheme with some red pin stripes and a NEST logo on each of his doors.

: According to the box pictures and instructions, the small cannon is misassembled. The gray sliding shaft is actually reversed from the direction it is supposed to be facing. This doesn't affect anything, but can be easily fixed by loosening the screws on the black outer section, sliding out the shaft, then turning it around and putting it back in.

: A packaging variant determines whether the missile is loaded or unloaded in the box.
**Accessories: Assault rifle, minigun, knife, bullbar/crossbow, projectile

:Recon Ironhide is an extensive retool, replacing his doors with military Humvee-style armoured door panels, adding a roof/truck bed-mounted lighting rig/weapons rack and replacing his Road Armor fender with a massive bullbar that can be removed and converted into a spring-loaded crossbow weapon. Ironhide's traditional arm-mounted weapons have been replaced with the aforementioned crossbow, a smaller version of his arm mounted cannon, an assault rifle, a minigun, and two combat knives. Either knife can be attached to the front of the rifle as a bayonet, and the rifle and mini gun can be clipped to the sides of his arm mounted weapons (the guns and knives can also be attached to the front of his arm cannon). The two rifles and knives can also be attached to his backpack rails in robot mode. Think he's armed enough yet? Additionally, this retool of Ironhide includes a new headsculpt featuring his battle mask.

:In an unfortunate change, all of Ironhide's (newly-tooled) windows are now cast in opaque plastic, compared to the translucent plastic seen on previous versions of this toy.
Sadly, this goes at the expense of a movie-accurate cannon for the left arm. The turret can stay attached to his arm when transforming back to his vehicle mode, thanks to a hard to notice joint on the other arm's cannon flipping open to allow more room, ensuring no chance of losing this accessory.
:Sadly, installing a grumpy trigger-happy alien robot and deadly high-tech weaponry into the works is not part of the included modifications.
Photon rifles are a common weapon used by the Autobot army. Jazz is one of the Transformers who uses photon rifles. His is solar-powered and is sometimes called a "flame-thrower." .

Fortress Maximus has one as well as part of his arsenal, but his is fusion powered.

Rodimus Prime carries a photon eliminator rifle. The difference between a photon eliminator rifle and a regular photon rifle is unknown, but a photon eliminator rifle is probably designed for a different function. It may refer to the fact that Rodimus' weapon fires high voltage electricity or its range which is an incredible 500 miles at 200mph.

The Armored Convoy is armed with a photon cannon. It's crazy huge, but then again, so is the Armored Convoy.

Bugly also uses a pair of photon rifles on the off-chance his circuit-su isn't going to cut it.

Related weapons
The Photon burst rifle is a sniper rifle like weapon that was used by the Autobots during the war on Cybertron.
