When the Autobots mobilized in response to a sudden surge in [[Decepticon]] activity, Jolt rolled into action at the head of the pack, but he was not among the Autobot team who fended off [[Megatron (Movie)|Megatron]] and [[Starscream (Movie)|Starscream]] after the two Decepticons killed [[Optimus Prime (Movie)|Optimus Prime]] in a forest brawl. Jolt reunited with the other Autobots before they headed back to the [[NEST]] base on [[Diego Garcia]], but the team was scarcely given any time to mourn Prime's passing; as soon as they returned, they were accosted by military forces under the command of [[Theodore Galloway]]. The emotionally brittle Autobots did not take this show of force well, and charged their weapons; Jolt began emitting bright sparks of electricity in anticipation of a fight, but things soon calmed down as Galloway announced that NEST was being disbanded by [[President of the United States|presidential]] order.

Jolt later accompanied the Autobots and their human allies to [[Egypt]], for a climactic [[Operation: Firestorm|battle]] against [[The Fallen]]'s [[Decepticon]]s. He is seen shooting at Decepticons behind Sideswipe. During the course of the battle, [[Sam Witwicky]] used the [[Matrix of Leadership]] to bring Optimus Prime back to life, at which point the aged [[Jetfire (ROTF)|Jetfire]] volunteered to sacrifice himself, so that Optimus could use his parts to give himself a power boost. Some time after the defeat of the Fallen, while the Autobots were still in the process of rounding up the Decepticons scattered across Earth, Jolt was part of a unit sent to Beverley Hills, Los Angles, to apprehend [[Reverb (ROTF)|Reverb]]. The Autobots attempted to subtly divert Reverb away from human traffic to minimize collateral damage, but the rambunctious Jolt jumped the gun and began pursuing the motorcycle Decepticon through the City of Angels. Tearing across pavements and parks with no regard for the humans in his way, Jolt attempted to stop Reverb with his electro-whips, but instead wound up striking a power pole and blowing every electrical system in the immediate vicinity. Thankfully, Reverb was captured by [[Bumblebee (Movie)|Bumblebee]], but Jolt's carelessness landed the Autobots in a lot of trouble with [[Theodore Galloway]]. Optimus Prime stressed the importance of treading carefully to Jolt, who promised to be "the soul of discretion".

Unfortunately, two days later, discretion was nowhere to be seen when Jolt went hog-wild in the middle of [[Las Vegas]], battling the martial artist Decepticon [[Bludgeon (ROTF)|Bludgeon]]. With one of his electro-whips severed by the Bludgeon's sword, Jolt was sent crashing through a casino wall, but what stung more were the Decepticons' taunts that everything would have been fine if he had not been so overzealous and allowed him to leave the city before attacking. Bludgeon then turned his attention to the casino's patrons, but a repentant Jolt threw himself in the path of the blast meant for them. As Bludgeon loomed over him, preparing to strike with his sword, Jolt seized the blade and used his powers to channel the entire output of Las Vegas's electric grid straight into the skeletal samurai. Although Bludgeon was defeated by the monumental shock, the city was left blacked out by Jolt's stunt, and Optimus Prime was reluctantly forced to confine him to base. Jolt accepted his punishment, but as he walked back into headquarters, he overheard a transmission came through from a NEST squad in the field, announcing they were under Decepticon attack... and Jolt gritted his teeth for action... {{storylink|Transformers Comic issue 2.9|Culture Shock}}

He later underwent further training alongside [[Dune Runner (ROTF)|Dune Runner]] and [[Rollbar (ROTF)|Rollbar]], and undertook a survival exercise in [[Death Valley]], [[California]]. He noted to Dune Runner that Bumblebee had found a pretty horrible place to train. He followed Rollbar's lead to a deserted ghost town and happily used his powers to track down the recharge pack the Autobots had hidden there. However, he also found...[[Dead End (ROTF)|Dead End]]! His left arm was torn off, and though he ordered Rollbar to focus on Dead End and not him, the monster Decepticon still tore through the other cadets. Realising they were running on empty, a desperate Jolt used every bit of power in the recharge pack to charge up an electro-whip and knock Dead End out before he could kill the others.

Following this, they spent some time under [[Springer (ROTF)|Springer]], a famed veteran of whom they were in awe. He taught them ''always'' to do the unexpected. Jolt, to the shock of the other cadets, spoke up during training to say they'd done ''enough'' exercises and they'd like to have a go at real combat. Springer agreed, and Jolt blew off the other cadet's claims of Springer having a rep as a monster by noticing that he was just a true soldier. A few days later, in [[Texas]], they got that combat op: Springer distracted [[Tankor (ROTF)|Tankor]] while the cadets snuck round to free hostages. However, Jolt spotted [[Dirge (ROTF)|Dirge]] coming in to get the drop on the commander and decided to leave his mission to get involved in the fight. Using his electro-whips, he redirected Tankor's fire into Dirge and saved the day! Jolt and his crew would be called in to [[CFB Comox|NEST Ops Vancouver]] to search for the missing [[Stratosphere]]; they knew he may have died, but Jolt said they had to look anyway. Jolt was part of an Autobot team sent to a ruined petrochemical plant in [[Florida]] to investigate the appearance of several unknown [[spark]] traces. However, before they could reach their goal, they were attacked by [[Soundwave (ROTF)|Soundwave]]. The ensuing battle didn't take long, as the Decepticon soon retreated, but it was enough of a distraction for Jolt and the others for the owners of the spark traces to get away. {{storylink|Nefarious issue 1}}

Later, back at the [[NEST]] base, Jolt was cited by [[Theodore Galloway]] as an example of [[William Lennox|Lennox]] not following protocols and alerting him to new recruits. Jolt was later part of the attack force sieging [[Carter Newell]]'s mobile base at Crater Lake. :Deluxe class Jolt transforms into a blue Chevrolet Volt with translucent blue plastic windows. His alt-mode is very conspicuously split where his arms and legs separate during transformation. In robot mode, he has light blue "electro whips" in each arm which are deployed by turning a small knob on his wrist. His head features blue [[Light-piping|light-piping]] for his eyes, but there is a gray protrusion behind his head which completely prevents light passage. This protrusion also prevents his ball-jointed head from turning other than in the slightest of angles. Turning his waist activates his [[Mech Alive]] feature, which consists of moving gears inside his translucent upper chest (it is really hard to see). Jolt also has swiveling knees, but sadly, the kibble blocks it off just like the head.

:Sadly, out of the ''Revenge of the Fallen'' toys released as of late summer 2009, Jolt has lost the most paint applications of anyone, losing nearly all blue paint detailing on his chest and all red detailing present in the promotional photos. This leaves his robot mode looking rather plain.

:The picture to the right shows Jolt's feet mistransformed—at least according to the instructions, which show that the two halves of his alt mode's back bumper forming his toes should be turned inward 90 degrees. Which depiction is the actual mistransformation is debatable, as the "official" transformation makes the left toe piece stand a couple millimeters higher than the right one due to the presence of a joining peg. The large pieces of kibble on his back should also be rotated and fitted into his shoulders.

Tracking Megatron to a disused factory with Optimus, Sideswipe complained about the dust until Optimus told him to be quiet. Optimus's scans turned up nothing, but Megatron soon revealed himself, batting Sideswipe aside. The young Autobot quickly recovered and joined Megatron in sword combat, even stabbing the Decepticon leader in the foot mid-sentence. Megatron subsequently brought the roof down on the two Autobots and escaped, though neither Autobot was harmed. {{storylink|Cyber Missions 4}}

Later, Sideswipe was pursuing [[Barricade (Movie)|Barricade]] and [[Frenzy (Movie)|Frenzy]] in [[Scramble City (city)|Scramble City]], and took a turn to let the Decepticons think they had lost him, in truth following them to the facility they were heading for. After crumpling Frenzy into a ball and batting him back at Barricade, Sideswipe engaged the larger Decepticon, but was stopped with fire suppression equipment that froze him to the databanks. Soon after, he was able to discover a wounded Ratchet back in [[Mission City]] and took him back to [[Diego Garcia]] to be repaired. While Ratchet was getting fixed up, Sideswipe traded in his shattered blades for new blasters. While they did that, [[Lockdown (ROTF)|Lockdown]] arrived and threatened Sideswipe during target practice. Apparently, he had enough- he was able to shoot the [[EMP]] blaster off of Lockdown's wrist and back to Ratchet, who was fully operational. Lockdown, now without a blaster weapon, pushed Sideswipe aside and fled, much to Sideswipe's dismay, but Ratchet assured him that he was headed straight for the medical bay. Sideswipe and Ratchet were transporting some energon to a secure location when they were attacked by [[Starscream (Movie)|Starscream]] and [[Mindwipe (ROTF)|Mindwipe]]. Mindwipe assaulted them with his hypnotic powers, but at Ratchet's suggestion, Sideswipe used his satellite radio to play some loud music, breaking Mindwipe's concentration. The Autobot turned on Starscream, yelling at Ratchet to secure the energon, but as Ratchet pointed out, Starscream was a bit more formidable than Sideswipe had counted on. As Starscream was on the verge of dismantling Sideswipe, Ratchet threw the energon trailer from the nearest cliff, and Starscream broke off his attack. In the aftermath, Ratchet and Sideswipe went to find somewhere safe to hide from the enraged Decepticon. {{storylink|Cyber Missions 10}}

Optimus later requested backup to help fight Megatron and Starscream in the Arctic Circle. Sideswipe, Ratchet, Ironhide,and Bumblebee arrived to help their leader, and all four fought Starscream. The Decepticon was swiftly defeated by the Autobots, but Optimus allowed Megatron and Starscream to flee.

Optimus later laid a trap for a final confrontation against Megatron, and had a hologram of the imprisoned Soundwave as bait. Megatron tried to retrieve his soldier, but the image shifted to a hologram of Sideswipe. Sideswipe calmly taunted the Decepticon leader as he swiped at the illusion, but Sideswipe did not take part in the ensuing battle.

The passenger's seat may either be used as a seat for Epps, or turned into a missile launcher slung over Sideswipe's left shoulder.

:Like the Deluxe figure, the HA Sideswipe is something of a [[shellformer]] and suffers from an excessive amount of [[kibble]], as nearly the entire top of the vehicle mode is folded up into a backpack, with only the rear bumper being incorporated as Sideswipe's chest. Partly as the reason, it is also quite hard for him to be able to stand up, as his thigh joints are tight and the rubber tubing on his thighs can get quite tense during posing, constantly wanting to reset his torso to tilt back up, thus overbalancing him and making him fall on his backpack.

:A great deal goes unmentioned in the instructions: in addition to the seats behind Sideswipe's shoulders, there are pegs on both forearms that a Human Alliance human figure can stand on or have plugged into their back, but neither are accomplished very well; the pegs also interfere with free rolling in vehicle mode, scraping on the ground. There is a fold-out handle under the swiveling rear window section, which seems to serve no purpose; it's possible to fold this section over Sideswipe's head (and, by extension, any human figure sitting behind his right shoulder), but the handle is only reached if the human figure has its left arm raised straight up and the seat is in just the right position. There are also small tabs that fold out of Sideswipe's waist to make him more movie-accurate. The small turret on his right shoulder can be slid upwards slightly, allowing it to clear the shoulder much better. Sideswipe also has an extra hinge near either thigh swivel that is completely hindered by the rubber tubing on his legs. Finally, Sideswipe has a battle mask; or rather, his normal head '''is''' his battle mask. A thin sliver in the middle of his face flips back to reveal his "real" face. It looks... odd. It's probably best to leave the thing down and never speak of this feature.

Sideswipe was having none of it, viewing this as implausible and believing the twins knocked him out in revenge for training and were covering themselves. Following the training, poor Sideswipe took them to [[Diego Garcia]] and continued to be pestered by them for a meeting with Prime. Catching up with Sideways by dexterously skating on his wheel-feet, Sideswipe somersaulted over the Decepticon, threw his right blade in the Decepticon's hood, and then dragged the blade in the opposite direction, tearing Sideways apart. Sideswipe took a moment to reflect on the success of his kill.

Afterwards, he returned with the other Autobots to [[NEST]]'s base in Diego Garcia, where he witnessed Director [[Theodore Galloway]] air the [[Barack Obama|President's]] concerns over the recent spate of Decepticon activity, and how the Autobots remaining on Earth might be the cause of it.

When Major Lennox learned Witwicky had come up with a way to possibly resurrect Optimus Prime, NEST travelled to [[Egypt]] instead. Sideswipe, who had been covered in a cargo net while being transported in vehicle mode, relished the chance to cut through his bonds when deployed from the air. Tracking Megatron to a disused factory with Optimus, Sideswipe complained about the dust until Optimus told him to be quiet. Optimus's scans turned up nothing, but Megatron soon revealed himself, batting Sideswipe aside. The young Autobot quickly recovered and joined Megatron in sword combat, even stabbing the Decepticon leader in the foot mid-sentence. Megatron subsequently brought the roof down on the two Autobots and escaped, though neither Autobot was harmed. {{storylink|Cyber Missions 4}}

Later, Sideswipe was pursuing [[Barricade (Movie)|Barricade]] and [[Frenzy (Movie)|Frenzy]] in [[Scramble City (city)|Scramble City]], and took a turn to let the Decepticons think they had lost him, in truth following them to the facility they were heading for. After crumpling Frenzy into a ball and batting him back at Barricade, Sideswipe engaged the larger Decepticon, but was stopped with fire suppression equipment that froze him to the databanks. Soon after, he was able to discover a wounded Ratchet back in [[Mission City]] and took him back to [[Diego Garcia]] to be repaired. While Ratchet was getting fixed up, Sideswipe traded in his shattered blades for new blasters. While they did that, [[Lockdown (ROTF)|Lockdown]] arrived and threatened Sideswipe during target practice. Apparently, he had enough- he was able to shoot the [[EMP]] blaster off of Lockdown's wrist and back to Ratchet, who was fully operational. Lockdown, now without a blaster weapon, pushed Sideswipe aside and fled, much to Sideswipe's dismay, but Ratchet assured him that he was headed straight for the medical bay. Sideswipe and Ratchet were transporting some energon to a secure location when they were attacked by [[Starscream (Movie)|Starscream]] and [[Mindwipe (ROTF)|Mindwipe]]. Mindwipe assaulted them with his hypnotic powers, but at Ratchet's suggestion, Sideswipe used his satellite radio to play some loud music, breaking Mindwipe's concentration. The Autobot turned on Starscream, yelling at Ratchet to secure the energon, but as Ratchet pointed out, Starscream was a bit more formidable than Sideswipe had counted on. As Starscream was on the verge of dismantling Sideswipe, Ratchet threw the energon trailer from the nearest cliff, and Starscream broke off his attack. Optimus later requested backup to help fight Megatron and Starscream in the Arctic Circle. Sideswipe, Ratchet, Ironhide,and Bumblebee arrived to help their leader, and all four fought Starscream. The Decepticon was swiftly defeated by the Autobots, but Optimus allowed Megatron and Starscream to flee.

Optimus later laid a trap for a final confrontation against Megatron, and had a hologram of the imprisoned Soundwave as bait. Megatron tried to retrieve his soldier, but the image shifted to a hologram of Sideswipe. :While in many ways simply a larger version of the Deluxe toy, it has several changes. The wheeled feet may now fold out into a stand system, allowing Sideswipe to stand without having to balance on the wheels, or be left as is to retain a more rounded look, and his blades are now rubberized to prevent injury and damage, as the blades lay flat underneath in vehicle mode. The sword-hands can also be slotted into a gear system connected to the front wheels, which causes them to spin as the wheels are turned. The passenger's seat may either be used as a seat for Epps, or turned into a missile launcher slung over Sideswipe's left shoulder.

This release also changed the windows from red to a dark purple.
