Plasma cannons are weapons which fire bursts of plasma at opponents.
Generation 1
Quake's primary weapon in tank mode is his turret-mounted plasma cannon with a range of 40 miles. His allies would be more impressed with it, if he wasn't just as likely to blow them up as a platoon of Autobots. Longtooth's inner robot is armed with a hand-held plasma cannon.

Beast Wars
The Axalon was equipped with a plasma cannon. When it became apparent that the ship was falling into an unnamed planet's atmosphere, Optimus Primal ordered that the plasma cannon be fired on the fleeing Darksyde. The blast successfully crippled the Predacon vessel. Beast Wars (Part 1)

The almighty Shokaract wields his own personal plasma cannon. Shokaract#Beast Wars
A plasma cannon was the alternate mode of an elderly robot. The Wreckers: Finale Part 1

Movie continuity
Plasma cannons are employed by both the Autobots and the Decepticons. Ghosts of Yesterday

Upon arriving on Earth, Starscream used his plasma cannon to destroy an F-22 Raptor that he had just scanned. Movie Prequel issue 4
The Plasma Cannon was a favored weapon of Scout and Cloaker class Transformers during the Great War. It released bolts that could be charged to higher intensity levels. The Plasma Cannon was most effective against big, slow-moving targets, like hovering Soldiers or Trypticon. Transformers: War for Cybertron
{{note|The Plasma Cannon can be charged up by holding down the fire button. It has the following ingame stats:
**Accessories: Pulse Missile

:Released as part of the preview series of figures for Revenge of the Fallen's toyline alongside Soundwave, Bumblebee is a retool of the Camaro Concept Bumblebee mold. Among various changes, his right arm has been retooled to accommodate a built-in spring-loaded plasma cannon, replacing the converting plasma cannon/blade weapon from the previous version of this mold.

:Strangely, the missile for his right arm is slightly too long for the slot in the arm itself, so it either has to be slightly cut down to fit or the cannon must be swiveled outwards to accommodate the missile. (This has been fixed in later releases, such as the European market).

:Part of the Robot Powered Machines subline, Battle Charger Bumblebee is a super-deformed Concept Camaro with a pull-back motor. When pulled back and let go, the car's roof flips open and Bumblebee's cutesified robot mode pops out, ready to use his equally cutesified plasma cannon.
When a lever is pulled back on the "Blaster" weapon, it opens up into a larger "Plasma Cannon", but it springs back into its original position once the lever is left alone. The MechTech weapon can be held in his hands, attach via 5mm pegholes/MechTech ports on his forearms, or plug in a "concealed" 5mm peghole on the vehicle mode's roof.
These include conversion noises, a revving engine, and clips from Stan Bush's "The Touch" (also awesome, but only in the "Try Me" setting, which is not quite as awesome).

:The Blastwave Weapons Base is a piece of equipment from the Dark of the Moon portion of the live-action film series continuity.

On those rare occasions that Megatron can't destroy something on his own, he breaks out the Blastwave Weapons Base. Normally taking the form of his trailer, the base can bring particle blasters and missile pods to bear, giving him all the firepower he could possibly need. And as if that wasn't enough, it's also flight-capable.

Because if you're going to be a knockoff, you might as well go all out.

:Packed with a redeco of the Cyberverse Commander Megatron toy, the Blastwave Weapons Base is a clip-on trailer that attaches to Megatron's vehicle mode, emulating his appearance in the movie and as the Voyager-class toy. It has two Cyberverse weapon ports and a C joint bar on each side, four more ports and two more bars clustered at the rear, and a 5mm post on top.

:The trailer can convert to a gun emplacement with two small double-barreled weapons (presumably the "multiple missile pods" mentioned in the bio), a 5mm port, and a large double cannon (the "particle blaster" by process of elimination) which fires a missile from the left barrel. The particle blaster has two handles that can be gripped by Cyberverse figures, and is itself mounted on a C joint, so it is removable and can be handheld by larger figures via a 5mm post. The base also has a C joint bar and clip at the far left and right, on the sides of the missile pods, so that it can combine with other bases. The top of the base is molded to accommodate Megatron's feet--his exhaust pipes fit into a pair of grooves. In an undocumented feature, the missile pods can be removed and held by Cyberverse figures via a 3mm post, or held by most other figures via 5mm diameter ball joints. Inserting these smaller posts into base sockets or otherwise is not recommended due to risk of snapping at ridges.

:A third "flight mode" can also be achieved by adjusting the positioning of some elements of the base mode. This can stand alone as a flying attack vehicle, or clip to Megatron's back as a flight pack. Unusually, the pack is compatible with Megatron's vehicle mode as well as his robot mode.

:This set's packaging includes a cardboard backdrop that is intended to be removed and reused for display. The backdrop depicts a field in Africa, with an elephant standing nearby in the left panel.

Notes
* The Blastwave Weapons Base's existence highlights an oddity of Cyberverse Megatron, namely that his entire robot mode is formed from the truck mode's cab (like Optimus) rather than the entire rig, with the trailer normally becoming his legs. This would appear to simply indicate that Cyberverse Megatron occupies a micro-continuity where he transforms differently, but if you really want to incorporate both into your personal canon, there's always the possibility that the trailer-as-legs transformation is actually his Super Mode or something.
