I would really like there to be a category for fandom jargon, such as [[kibble]], [[shellformer]], and so on. I would just "be bold" (as they asy on Wikipedia), but I confess that I'm not sure what the best name for this category should be ("fan[dom] jargon"? I'm generally opposed to overcategorization, but this idea would be a handy idea to decipher the meaning of some of those entries without having to actually read the article.

My suggestion is more controvercial than I had expected! I'm a newbie here, and unaquainted with your customs. But, see, that's exactly why I would like such a category: it would make it easier for people like me, who enjoy Transformers but have never been part of the fandom community, to learn about terminology. Likewise, there would not be lists of notable people, e.g. [[Chris McFeely]], [[Raksha]], [[Ben Yee]] (again, all in [[:Category:Fandom]]), or useful miscellanious information such as [[Misconceptions and urban legends about Transformers]]. It would simply be a list of words and expressions. You raise the point that some terms are borderline, but I would suggest that in most cases it won't be too hard to make a decision (and heck, if it were up to me, marketing terms would have their own category too).

The film begins with the history of Cybertron's destruction at the hands of Megatron, and his quest to obtain the All Spark. Megatron discovers the All Spark on Earth, but crash-lands in the Arctic Circle, becoming frozen in the ice. Captain Archibald Witwicky and his crew of explorers stumble upon Megatron's body in the late 19th century. Megatron's navigational system is unintentionally activated, and Archibald's eye glasses are imprinted with the coordinates to the All Spark's location. Sector 7, a secret organization of the United States government, discovers the All Spark and builds the Hoover Dam around it to mask its energy signal. The still-frozen Megatron is moved into this facility, and is reverse engineered to further advance human technology.

In the present day, the rest of the Decepticons — Blackout, Scorponok, Frenzy, Barricade, Starscream, Bonecrusher, and Devastator — have already landed on Earth and assumed the disguise of Earth vehicles. Blackout and Scorponok attack U.S. SOCCENT Forward Operations Base in Qatar in an effort to use the military database to discover the location of Megatron and the All Spark, but they do not succeed. A small group of survivors from the military base attack wander through the desert and are attacked by Scorponok. The Autonomous Robotic Organism (shortened to "Autobot") known as Bumblebee is also on Earth, disguised as a 1977 Chevrolet Camaro, and looking for Sam Witwicky, the descendant of Captain Archibald Witwicky. As soon as he locates Sam, the two quickly begin to bond as Bumblebee helps Sam try and woo his crush, Mikaela Banes; Sam is unaware of the fact that Bumblebee is an alien, until he witnesses Bumblebee transform and send out a homing signal for the rest of the Autobots. After Blackout's failure, Frenzy infiltrates Air Force One and discovers that Sam possesses the map that will lead the Decepticons to the All Spark. Frenzy and Barricade begin tracking Sam's location.

Barricade confronts Sam, demanding Archibald's glasses. Bumblebee, who is following Sam, transforms and battles Barricade. Mikaela, who is also following Sam, is caught in the crossfire, and leaves with Sam and Bumblebee to rendezvous with the rest of the Autobots. The Autobots — Optimus Prime, Jazz, Ironhide, and Ratchet — land on Earth and take on the forms of several Earth vehicles. They all meet in a dark, secluded alley, transform in front of the two amazed humans, introduce themselves and tell of the reasons they had to come to Earth to Sam and Mikaela. Sam, Mikaela, and the Autobots then return to Sam's home to retrieve the glasses. However, agents from Sector 7 arrive to take Sam and Mikaela into custody. Bumblebee is also apprehended, against the pleas of Sam who assures the agents - to no avail - that he means them no harm.

Frenzy secretly accompanies the group to the Hoover Dam, and releases Megatron from cryogenic stasis. Locating the All Spark, he sends out an alert to the rest of the Decepticons. Megatron escapes, and Sam convinces the Sector 7 agents to release Bumblebee so that he can get the All Spark to Optimus Prime. The Decepticons chase the Autobots, who now possess the All Spark, into a neighboring city. An ensuing battle results in casualties for both sides, including Jazz. Finally, with both Prime and Megatron weakened, Prime beckons Sam to shove the All Spark into his chest, destroying them both, but Sam instead takes the riskier action of shoving the All Spark into Megatron's chest. Nine million years ago, during the Golden Age of [[Cybertron (planet)|Cybertron]], there lived a female robot named Ariel, the girlfriend of dock worker Orion Pax. She'd heard that the new "[[Decepticon|flying robots]]" that Orion and and his friend [[Dion]] admired had put together an army and attacked one of Cybertron's outer cities, but Dion laughingly dismissed her as gullible.

One of those "flying robots" - [[Megatron (G1)|Megatron]] - raided the energy storage facility Orion worked at with his [[transport drone]]s. While Megatron was in the midst of an assault on Orion, Ariel tried to stop him, only to be gunned down herself, by Megatron.

Fortunately for all involved, the time-lost [[Aerialbot (G1)|Aerialbots]] brought the deactivated Orion to [[Alpha Trion (G1)|Alpha Trion]] for repairs, who recreated the young robot as the first of Cybertron's new defenders - Optimus Prime. Prime and the Aerialbots then convinced Alpha Trion to try reconstructing Ariel; after agreeing to send some droids for her, Alpha Trion mused to himself that "Elita One" would be a good name for a female warrior. {{Storylink|War Dawn}}

Five million years later, Elita One tried to board the [[Ark|Autobot starship]] as it took off on its mission to search for energy - wanting to go with Optimus - but she was seemingly destroyed while the ship was attacked during takeoff. {{Storylink|The Search for Alpha Trion}}

But Elita One did not perish. Their existance was revealed thanks to Moonracer's carelessness, which subsequently lead to Elita's One capture by [[Starscream (G1)|Starscream]] and the destruction of their secret base by [[Rumble]].

Way to go, Moonracer.

Elita was used as bait to lure Optimus Prime into a trap, where he too was captured - and was soon on the block for execution in a vat of acid. Desperate to save her beloved, Elita triggered her time-stopping power, which allowed her to save Prime... but expended nearly all her life-force doing so.

After getting them both out of Decepticon Headquarters, Optimus was able to track Alpha Trion to his secret base. The ancient Autobot repaired Elita to the best of his ability, but revealed to Optimus Prime that only '''he''' could save Elita by interfacing to her with his power filter. An astonished Optimus Prime stated that only his CREATOR could know that!

After Elita One was re-energized, she and Prime arrived in time to save both a group of Earth-based Autobots who had followed Prime to Cybertron and Elita's own troops from certain death at the hands of the Decepticons. Notably, Elita shot Shockwave out of the air with a single blast from her pistol.

With their original secret base in ruins, Alpha Trion quickly set the female Autobots up with a new one, full of advanced equipment.

Though regretful that they'd be apart again so soon, Elita One elected to stay behind on Cybertron and continue the fight at home while Optimus and the other Autobots returned to the war on Earth.
