[[Image:Planetbuster.jpg|thumbnail|left|Pretty much the last thing you'd want to see out your window]]The ''Planet Buster'' was a cannon the size of a moon, used by the [[Vok]] aliens in an attempt to destroy the prehistoric Earth.

After the Floating Island was destroyed in a battle against the Predacon forces, a beacon was sent to the Vok. Receiving this beacon, the Vok returned to the Earth and were quite displeased to see that the Beast Wars had completely wrecked their "project". Deeming the entire planet to now be a liability, the Vok revealed their magnum opus, and revealed that the Hollow Moon was in fact a weapon.

The Vok attempted to use this cannon (which [[Rattrap (BW)|Rattrap]] later dubbed "The Planet Buster") to ignite every [[Energon]] deposit on the planet, resulting in an explosion powerful enough to destroy the planet itself!

In order to destroy the weapon, [[Optimus Primal (BW)|Optimus]] confiscated a custom-built Stasis Pod (which [[Tarantulas (BW)|Tarantulas]] had built as a means for [[Blackarachnia (BW)|Blackarachnia]] and himself to escape from the planet) and loaded it with an explosive.

Optimus's plan was to fly the Pod into the core of the Planet Buster, where the bomb would explode, taking out the Buster with it. Unfortunately, the Pod itself was a trap, set by [[Megatron (BW)|Megatron]], which revealed itself when Optimus tried to escape from the imminent explosion. The plan to destroy the Planet Buster succeeded, but cost the Maximals their leader.

As an unforeseen development, the destruction of the Planet Buster created a massive [[quantum surge]]. This surge mutated several Transformers into [[Transmetal|Transmetals]] and damaged the stasis pods of others (resulting in the [[Fuzor|Fuzors]] and [[Transmutate (BW)|Transmutate]]). The destruction of the stasis pod's [[Transwarp Cell]] also created a [[transwarp wave]] which traveled across space and time, eventually reaching a Predacon outpost in the "present" time of the Beast Era, the time from which the Beast Warriors hailed. Upon intercepting this wave, the [[Tripredacus Council]] sent an [[Ravage (G1)|agent]] to investigate.

==Summary==
The Powered Masters, early transformer pioneers of space, founded the super-science planet Zone, which is home to many Autobot Micromasters.

The godlike [[Violen Jygar]] resurrects the most powerful fallen Decepticons as the [[Nine Great Demon Generals]], seeking both energy, and the [[Zodiac]] Component, an artifact capable of creating new worlds. With promises of a new Decepticon homeworld, the Decepticons attack and utterly destroy the planet [[Feminia]], leaving the Autobot commander [[Victory Saber]] missing in action.

70 days later, the Decepticons attack Zone, stealing the super-energy [[Energon Z]] before heading to Earth in search of the Zodiac. The Powered Master [[Dai Atlas]] returns from space, having found the badly hurt Victory Saber.

On Earth, the Autobots pet refugee Kai encounters the androgynous boy Akira, and there is much blushing and awkward holding of hands. Later they will gambol among the wildflowers and frolic in the surf, and there may even be ''kissing.'' …but for now the Deepticons are destroying everything.

Discovering the Zodiac Component buried deep under the Earth, Dai Atlas uses it to unlock a powerful battle station transformation, repelling the Decepticon from Earth.

Back on Zone, the with Victory Saber too weak to lead the Autobots, Dai Atlas is inaugurated as the new leader of the Autobots.

''Zone's story continued to be told in brief summaries in [[TV Magazine]]. The remaining Decepticon Generals were destroyed, Violen Jygar split into 3 insect robots that were also destroyed, and the word 'peace' was used an earth-shattering 220 times.

The Zone toyline featured the Powered Masters, large robots that could transform into Micromaster Bases.

That, and hordes of Autobot Micromasters, many of whom had been Decepticons overseas.

The ''Zone'' toyline contained almost exclusively Autobot figures - the only Decepticons released in the line were [[Metrotitan]] and the [[Race Car Patrol]].

The battle between the [[Council of Sages]] and [[Unicron]]'s forces continues. Soundwave vents frustration as he is pummelled from all sides by Downshift, Perceptor, and a very agile Scythe. Unfortunately, Skyfall and Landquake are also not faring well. Their combined shielding measures reach their limit and the two vanish in a brilliant explosion which wipes out several Mini-Cons nearby. Sentinel Maximus mourns the loss of Skyfall, and voices an apology to Vector Prime for failing to protect him.

The fight is ended when Primus completes his transformation into robot mode and looms over them. Unicron curses and flees.

Several months later, Sentinel Maximus, Downshift, Perceptor, the Council of Sages, ''Robots in Disguise'' [[Optimus Prime (RID)|Optimus Prime]] and [[Ultra Magnus (RID)|Ultra Magnus]], and a restored Alpha Trion meet with Unicron Trilogy Optimus Prime and several of his crew (including [[Jetfire (Armada)|Jetfire]], [[Hot Shot (Armada)|Hot Shot]], [[Scattorshot]], [[Red Alert (Armada)|Red Alert]], and [[Coby]], [[Bud]], and [[Lori]]). Unicron Trilogy Optimus Prime has informed them of the death of [[Vector Prime]], and Override decides on a memorial for Skyfall on his native [[Velocitron]]. Their work is not completely finished, however. ''Robots in Disguise'' Optimus Prime and Ultra Magnus are planning to pursue Unicron, and Alpha Trion and [[Over-run]] pledge their assistance to the Council of Sages to hunt down the remaining Mini-Con insurgents. Alpha Trion hopes this marks a new age for the Transformers.

Meanwhile, Skyfall and Landquake appear, giving off smoke, in a forest. Where are they? When are they? These questions are answered as an unfamiliar Megatron stands over them.

* Primus' upper lip is colored white as if it were an open, goofy grin.
* Over-run's name is still misspelled as "Overrun."
* Megatron should have green eyes.

* Most of this issue, as with the previous issue, take place during the <i>Cybertron</i> episode "[[Cybertron (episode)|Cybertron]]", specifically during Primus' transformation sequence.
* With the above in mind, it seems Soundwave successfully fled this battle, though we do not see his escape, as Soundwave shows up later in the television series.
* Optimus Primes from two different [[continuity family|continuity families]] meet! Fangasm!
* Vector Prime's death occurred in the <i>Cybertron</i> episode "[[Guardian (episode)|Guardian]]."
* The introduced Megatron's design is based, of course, on his <i>Classics</i> toy.

When the Dinobots were injured in a Decepticon attack in the year 2005, Wheeljack headed to Earth to arrange the transplantation of [[Grimlock]]'s mind into a new Binaltech body. On his return journey to the Autobot's moonbase, however, his shuttle was hijacked by time-tossed Decepticon [[Ravage]], who had begun a plan to alter the course of history. Wheeljack was shown a brief glimpse of the near future - including the deaths of himself and many of his comrades - but managed to escape Ravage's clutches; Ravage himself promptly returned to Cybertron and exhumed the [[Kronosphere]], using it to tip the balance of the decisive battle occurring at that time. Whereas the outcome would have originally favored the Decepticons, leading to their total conquest of Cybertron, Ravage ensured an ''Autobot'' victory, altering history and leaving the heroes to face the looming threat of [[Unicron]] alone.

Aware that history had been altered, Wheeljack was faced with a dilemma - should he stop Ravage's plan and restore the timestream, even though it would mean the death of many Autobots, including himself? His salvation, he hoped, lay in the [[GT System]], a device that allowed a singular [[spark]] to simultaneously control many duplicate bodies. Dubbing his original body the "Alpha Unit," he constructed the "Beta Unit" based on Grimlock's Ford Mustang body, as well as the ominous third "Omega Unit," a mysterious body about which nothing is known.

The subsequent arrival of Unicron prompted the Autobots to initiate "Operation: Distant Thunder," which saw [[Skids (G1)|Skids]] use the chronal warp on [[Dinobot Island]] to send Wheeljack's memory data back in time, in hopes of alerting the Autobots in the past and preventing alteration to the timestream. On his return journey to the Autobot's moonbase, however, his shuttle was hijacked by time-tossed Decepticon [[Ravage]], who had begun a plan to alter the course of history. Wheeljack was shown a brief glimpse of the near future - including the deaths of himself and many of his comrades - but managed to escape Ravage's clutches; Ravage himself promptly returned to Cybertron and exhumed the [[Kronosphere]], using it to tip the balance of the decisive battle occurring at that time. Whereas the outcome would have originally favored the Decepticons, leading to their total conquest of Cybertron, Ravage ensured an ''Autobot'' victory, altering history and leaving the heroes to face the looming threat of [[Unicron]] alone.

Aware that history had been altered, Wheeljack was faced with a dilemma - should he stop Ravage's plan and restore the timestream, even though it would mean the death of many Autobots, including himself? In the [[Generation 1 (Marvel Comics)|Marvel comics]] continuity it is stated that the volcano is located in [[Oregon]] not far from Portland. Subsequent events also largely take place in Oregon around (and in) the city of Portland. A possible location for the volcano could be the Boring Lava Field near Portland which does contain a number of volcanoes similar to the one shown but this is never specified within the comic itself.<ref>http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Boring_Lava_Field</ref>

Assuming that the volcano that appears in the cartoon is Mount St. Hilary and is located in the same State then it seems to be part of a largely desert landscape which does not seem to fit with the geography and climate of the Portland area.<ref>http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Portland%2C_Oregon</ref> As mentioned above the area is home to the Boring Lava Field but given the desert landscape it is more likely that the volcano would be located in the South-Eastern part of Oregon.

It could be that the Decepticon base is located in the Atlantic meaning that the volcano might not be in Oregon at all but instead in an East coast State, although this again wouldn't really fit the desert landscape.

The Transformers space cruiser, the [[Ark]], crashed into the side of the dormant volcano roughly four million year ago where it lay undisturbed until the volcano erupted again in 1984. The explosion reactivated the systems aboard the Ark which promptly set about restoring the Autobots and Decepticons on board.

Mount St. Hilary would serve as the headquarters of the Autobots for the next few years. At one point [[Wheeljack]] installed a number of automated gun emplacements around the volcano. These were hidden inside the rock face, emerging through sliding panels as they were needed.

Under the leadership of [[Grimlock]], the Autobots completed repairs on the Ark and successfully relaunched it into space. The hole left behind still contained a variety of discarded machinery and communications systems. These were later used by the Autobot [[Goldbug]] to send a distress call that was eventually received by the Autobot [[Headmaster|Headmasters]] on [[Nebulos]].

They answered the distress call and made their way to Earth followed by the Decepticons. Tracking the source of the signal they arrived at Mount St. Hilary to find [[Spike Witwicky]] looking for his missing brother [[Buster Witwicky|Buster]].

Not long after the Decepticon Headmasters attacked and trapped Spike in the volcano. Scorponok caused molten lava to erupt from the cavern floor. [[Fortress Maximus]]’ headmaster, [[Galen]], attempted to save Spike by pushing him out of the path of a rock fall and dies himself in the attempt.

After this Mount St. Hilary played no further role in the Transformers war.

===Animated continuity===

The volcano that the Transformers crash into is never explicitly named in the cartoon series and neither is the State in which it is located. There is no reason that it couldn’t be called Mount St. Hilary but there is no canonical evidence within the series to back this up.

The name has however been used in a number of places other than Marvel comic. These include a set of collectors cards based around the television series and the range of [[Ladybird Books]] which did use a number of concepts from the television series. These lend support to the idea that the volcano in the cartoon is also called Mount St. Hilary but it is far from conclusive.
