At [[Hoover Dam]], [[Starscream (Movie)|Starscream]] is cajoled and taunted by [[Megatron (Movie)|Megatron's spirit]] into placing an [[All Spark|All Spark fragment]] and the interface module into Megatron's [[Transformers Comic issue 13|corpse]]. After doing so, Starscream finds his mind is his own again... and he realises just what he's done!

In [[Philadelphia]], [[Pennsylvania]], the [[Decepticon Civil War]] is reaching its conclusion! [[Stockade (Movie)|Stockade]], [[Fracture]], and their [[drones]] tear through [[Blackout (Movie)|Blackout's]] forces, taking over the drones they don't destroy. Blackout rejects Stockade's offer to surrender and sics [[Scorponok (Movie)|Scorponok]] on him... and gets Scorponok thrown back at him. [[Overcast (Movie)|Overcast]] "tidies up" the beaten foes, while Stockade states the next objective is to seize the [[Decepticon Heartland]], not that Starscream will be a challenge. And when Overcast asks if they'll really just hand [[Earth]] back at the end of it, Stockade hints they may ''not''...

Southwest of Lynchburg, [[Virginia]], [[Mikaela Banes]] is being called to an early morning meeting with [[Tom Banachek]] at a diner. Tom reveals that two weeks ago, he was covertly contacted by [[Ironhide (Movie)|Ironhide]] to be part of their contigency plan for ''when'' [[Theodore Allen]] was used against them. Tom was given the means to 'see' Decepticon cerebro-strips and see who in the government was a Decepticon puppet, and has finally identified everyone from the President on down. He then reveals to a stunned Mikaela that the Autobots faked their deaths so they could operate more easily... just as four very familiar driverless vehicles turn up...

As the sun rises on [[Savannah]], the New Decepticons find absolutely no one is home. Fracture wonders if Starscream just up and ran, but Stockade knows things are never ''that'' easy... and then, hovering like a vast predatory bird, ''Megatron'' blitzes them and makes a landing!

The Autobots rocket down the interstate to Georgia, and [[Bumblebee (Movie)|Bumblebee]] finds Mikaela's a wee bit pissed at him for faking his death without telling her, believing they didn't trust her not to be a puppet again. He apologetically explains ''how'' they faked their deaths—launching a jamming pulse that disabled all video feeds long enough to cloak their shuttle and ''de''cloak a ''second'' shuttle to get hit by the Patriot missile—but she's still angry. After all they'd been through, didn't she deserve better?

As the Autobots arrive, Stockade and Megatron are duking it out, Megatron taking every [[Nucleon]]-fueled blow and striking back, while the other New Decepticons are strafed by a silent Starscream. [[Optimus Prime (Movie)|Optimus]] gets confirmation from <strike>Strongarm</strike> Ironhide that [[Evac (Movie)|Evac]] reports "go" on [[Cybertron (planet)|Cybertron]] and all regional strike teams are ready... and then orders the Autobots to strike! The Autobots begin shooting strange attachments onto the Decepticon's backs, while Optimus distracts Megatron with ''violence''. Stockade recognises the devices and protests to [[Strongarm (Movie)|Strongarm]] that they had a deal—to which the Autobot replies Stockade was merrily ''altering'' that deal, so he can be part of the ''new'' one...

...and suddenly ''every'' Decepticon on Earth is forcibly teleported to Cybertron! The Autobots had spent the last fortnight rigging up the teleportation equipment that [[Unicron]] had installed into Cybertron so that they could 'tag' and transport people there... and then rig the planet itself to teleport! The assembly will burn out and there's no spares on Cybertron, leaving the Decepticons all trapped on a dead world in the far reaches of space...

Mikaela asks if this means the Autobots are trapped on Earth, but Bumblebee replies there are worse fates. Tom and Optimus note there's still a long way to go, with Decepticon puppets to liberate and drones to decommission, but the war is now over.

And Mikaela gets into Bumblebee and drives off to explore this brave new world...

===Quotes===
"I—."<br>
"Why do you ''hesitate''? Would you rather concede defeat now? Grovel in abject surrender to Stockade's rampant ''New Decepticons''?"<br>
"Nnn-no."<br>
"Then—''do'' it!"
:—'''Starscream''' gives in to '''Megatron's''' peer pressure

"Look, Blackout, it's hopeless. You're alone, we already control over half your drone units. Surrender... or be ''annihilated''."
:—'''Stockade'''

"My guess is, Optimus Prime didn't survive all these years without staying one jump ahead of the Decepticons. He ''saw'' this coming, Mikaela, right down to the Patriot missile..."<br>
:—'''Tom Banachek'''
:—'''Megatron''' to Stockade

"It was important to ''limit'' the possible exposure, we felt—"<br>
"She's ''already'' been compromised once. What's to say the silly girl hasn't picked herself up another cerebro-strip?"<br>
:—'''Bumblebee''' strikes out with '''Mikaela'''

"Once... I might have faltered... hesitated... let your reputation turn my servos to mercury... but that was before I tapped the full devastating potential... of ''Nucleon!''"<br>
"Yes! You are ''strong'' now, Stockade, but strength without vision, without dynamism, is ''nothing''. Your pitiful lack of real, clarified ambition... is your achilles heel!"
:—'''Stockade's''' barrage of punches is beaten by '''Megatron's''' grab-and-flip move

"That's always been ''your'' achilles heel, Megatron... overconfidence!"
:—'''Optimus Prime'''

'''''"PRIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIMMMMME!"'''''
:—'''Megatron''' roaring one of his more famous, repeated sayings.

"C'mon, Bumblebee. It's a brave new world... and it's all out there, just waiting for ''us''!''"
:—'''Bumblebee''' and '''Mikaela'''

===Errors===
* Stockade has a command attributed to a beaten Blackout, which is especially odd as the command appears to be to blow up Blackout's beaten troops. (The panel also gives the impression it's to kill Blackout, but Overcast shoots ''behind'' him...)
* No one else is at the diner... ''including no staff''. So who opened up and sold Tom his coffee?
* Fracture appears to be pushing [[Incinerator (Movie)|Incinerator]] out of the way while telling ''Storm Surge'' to "move!" when Megatron attacks, even though he's at the other end of the panel; that line could've been meant for Overcast and his tactical command for her, except the posing is wrong for that. Either Davis-Hunt did a mix-up or Fracture just really likes Storm Surge.
* Ironhide's report to Prime is given to Strongarm.

===Notes===
* The main strip is a whopping ''fifteen'' pages.
* Stockade hoped to have Blackout and Scorponok in his new order.
* The Autobot plan explains the brief static in #23.
* Stockade was clearly thinking about welshing on the deal, but he hadn't said so in front of the Autobots. Either storming the Decepticon Heartland was not part of the deal and that's how they twigged it, or Optimus (who has said he didn't trust Stockade to stick to the deal) ''deliberately'' ordered for the New Decepticons to be teleported away ''regardless''. Which is pretty ruthless.
* With no fuel on Cybertron except ''maybe'' the remaining Nucleon, the Decepticons will probably starve to death. Damn.
* The fate of [[Jazz (Movie)|Jazz]] is a notable loose end.
* The alternate universe ends how it started, with Mikaela driving in Bumblebee and the thought of a happy ending. Awww!
[[Bumblebee (Animated)|Bumblebee]] tears through [[Detroit]], not noticing as [[Blackarachnia (Animated)|Blackarachnia]] tags him with a transmitter, and reaches the Autobot base in ''just'' under three minutes... to deliver a pizza to a happy [[Sari Sumdac|Sari]]. As Bumblebee bigs up his speed, [[Prowl (Animated)|Prowl]] points he may be fast but he's also reckless and keeps going through red lights—taking shortcuts is a weakness, and Prowl bets even ''he'' could take Bumblebeee in a fair contest. Bumblebee thinks those are fightin' words, and Sari steps in to propose the solution—a race!

Blackarachnia, [[Lugnut]] and [[Blitzwing (Animated)|Blitzwing]], meanwhile, are listening in thanks to Blackarachnia's transmitter. Lugnut wonders if they shouldn't just call in [[Megatron (Animated)|Megatron]] now they know where the Autobots will be, but Blackarachnia points out the Autobots always ''beat'' Megatron because of the '''Power of Teamwork (TM)'''. But if they seperate an Autobot from the others, such as during a race, then he'd be vulnerable...

The next day, Sari introduces the Autobot's to [[Crazy Coyote Canyon]], one of her dad's test sites, and location of the race. She's drawn an adorable little map (with a little drawing of Prowl marked "grumpy") and identifies the mazes, rock falls and caverns along the race track, as well as the fact radio reception is nil. [[Bulkhead (Animated)|Bulkhead]] eagerly asks if he can race too, to Prowl's confusion and Bumblebee's mocking, but [[Optimus Prime (Animated)|Daddy Optimus]] says ''anyone'' can race if they want to. (You can see how the strip'll end, can't you.)

The race begins, with Bumblebee and Prowl tearing off while Bulkhead, having ''forgotten to transform'', eats their dust. The Decepticons lie in wait, Lugnut whining at the idea he won't get to smash the 'bots, while Prowl and Bumblebee taunt each other. 'bee even ''drives backwards'' just to show up Prowl... who just raises his front wheel and ''drives over'' him. Now far in the lead, Prowl muses reckless actions lead to sticky situations... as he drives into Blackarachnia's web cos he's not looking where he's going.

Bumblebee, figuring Prowl's cheating and gone into a cave to use a shortcut, 'follows' him in and finds his team-mate a Decepticon prisoner! Unable to call for help, and with a happy Lugnut asking if he can hit the captive with a stick like a pinata, Bumblebee seems finished... until he sits down on the transmitter and finally notices it. That gives him an idea—and just as Lugnut finds a ''stalagmite'' to use as a stick, Bumblebee speeds in, slaps him on the butt, and runs out again.

Blitzwing and Lugnut follow, tracking the transmittter, and get hopelessly lost while Bumblebee (having looked at Sari's map) is able to double-back, much to Blackarachnia's confusion. As the other Cons come back, Bumblebee frees Prowl and both agree to do this the reckless way—driving up the cave wall towards the roof, making themselves an easy target... and the Decepticons realise too late that firing on the ceiling will cause it to cave in on them! The Autobots then head out to continue their race, only to find, yep, Bulkhead got to the finish while they were occupied. Bumblebee graciously accepts defeat, while Blackarachnia not-so-graciously screams in anger when she realises her transmitter's on Lugnut's rump...

===Quotes===
"How many red lights did you drive through on the way back?"<br>
"Um, let me think... I remember the first ''ten'', but then I lost count! They all sort of blurred into one—''because I was going '''that''' fast!''"
:—'''Prowl's''' criticism has the wrong effect on '''Bumblebee'''

"Trust a methane-powered, troglodytic, walking bacteria farm to threaten me with excrement. Still, I can't expect too much from you, you're barely six years old and have an obsession with [[Grimlock (G1)|Grimlock]] and putting plastic toys in the toilet."
==Notes==
* Once again, the cover text in last issue's cover preview is different to the published thing. The main text, meanwhile, has been shifted all to the right and a giant "SHOWDOWN!" tagline has been dropped. Why? Cos the FREE GIFTS! would have covered it, the bloody things.
* The "Previously" summary for Megatron Origin has so many typos in it we're not even going to try listing them.
* An ad for back issues has pictures of ''the wrong covers'' next to the issue numbers.
* The comic informs us that the series is restarting from issue 1 in June, which will be a "Giant Sized Issue!". Sadly, the cover is a stock photo.
'''In the aftermath of the battle at the mine, Sari and her father’s relationship takes a strange turn; the Autobots have their work cut out for them trying to contact Cybertron; and Megatron and Starscream find a new opportunity'''

==Synopsis==
===Part I===
[[Image:TransWarpedRodimusCosmicRust.jpg|thumb|left|180px|No fair, I just got here!]]

Somewhere along the outer rim of the galaxy, a contingent of [[Autobot]]s led by [[Rodimus Prime (Animated)|Rodimus Prime]] defends [[space bridge 687-030]] against the [[Decepticon]]s' "[[Team Chaar]]", led by [[Strika (Animated)|Strika]]. She, [[Oil Slick (Animated)|Oil Slick]] and [[Cyclonus (Animated)|Cyclonus]] strafe [[Brawn (Animated)|Brawn]], [[Ironhide (Animated)|Ironhide]] and [[Hot Shot (Animated)|Hot Shot]], badly injuring Hot Shot's leg and forcing team medic [[Red Alert (Animated)|Red Alert]] to perform an amputation. Before she can do so, however, she is swallowed up by [[Spittor (Animated)|Spittor]], who explosively vomits her back at her team. Rodimus contacts the [[Elite Guard]] for backup, but the Autobot forces are spread much too thin, defending space bridges from Decepticon attacks all across the galaxy. Oil Slick and Cyclonus proceed to take down Brawn and Ironhide, leaving Rodimus on his own, at which point Blackout arrives and all but finishes the fight with a huge electromagnetic pulse. Rodimus still has some fight left in him, but it drains away when Oil Slick offlines him with a vial of [[Cosmic Rust (disease)|Cosmic Rust]]. Strika contacts [[Shockwave (Animated)|Shockwave]] on [[Cybertron (planet)|Cybertron]], who informs her that nobody is to TransWarp to the planet until [[Megatron (Animated)|Megatron]] himself arrives. But Megatron was supposed to be there megacycles ago...

[[Image:TransWarpedStarscreamsScream.jpg|thumb|right|180px|How... literal. And disturbingly yonic.]]

Off in the depths of space, the disembodied head of [[Starscream (Animated)|Starscream]] attempts to remove Megatron's stasis cuffs with his teeth as the Decepticon leader berates him all the while. As Starscream begins bellowing back at Megatron, the [[AllSpark (Animated)|AllSpark]] fragment in his forehead begins to glow, and he undergoes a surprising transformation: His mouth converts into a sonic blaster that shoots the cuffs clean off Megatron's wrists. There is no time for the two villains to celebrate, however, as the giant form of [[Omega Supreme (Animated)|Omega Supreme]] materializes above them. But after a moment, Megatron realizes that the colossus is offline...

[[Image:TransWarpedProtoform.jpg|thumb|left|180px|Hush little baby, don't say a word. Sumdac's gonna build you a mockingbird.]]

On [[Earth]], as the Autobots return to [[Detroit]], [[Isaac Sumdac|Professor Sumdac]] explains [[Sari Sumdac|Sari's]] origins to her as best he can, revealing that he discovered her in his laboratory years ago, in the form of a small, liquid metal robot. Sari finds the story hard to believe, and her strained patience reaches its end when the group returns to [[Sumdac Tower]] and confronts [[Porter C. Powell]] and [[Henry Masterson]]. Powell tries to smooth things over with Isaac, but Masterson's belligerent attitude dispels any attempts at peace, which is further ruined when he demands the Autobots return his Headmaster, or "heads will roll". Having entered the lab from the elevator behind them, Optimus picks up Masterson and asks for clarification on his threat. Isaac immediately fires both Powell and Masterson, but Masterson refuses to vacate the premises, and Powell takes another shot at Sari's disputed parentage. In a moment of anger, Sari's hands transform into energy projectors that hurl the two men into the building's elevator. This newest revelation pushes Sari over the edge, and she walks out on the man she can no longer even think of as her father, returning to the Autobots' base with her "fellow robots". While [[Ratchet (Animated)|Ratchet]] examines Sari—deducing that she's basically human, but partially Cybertronian—Prowl departs to carry out some research of his own. With Ratchet lost in his memories of [[Arcee (Animated)|Arcee]], [[Bumblebee (Animated)|Bumblebee]] and [[Bulkhead (Animated)|Bulkhead]] head back to the Decepticons' destroyed mine base to salvage some equipment that will let them contact Cybertron and inform the Autobots there of the traitor in their midst.

On a small planetoid somewhere in space, [[Blurr (Animated)|Blurr]] is still trapped in a cement blob with Starscream's [[Thundercracker (Animated)|egomaniacal]] and [[Skywarp (Animated)|cowardly]] clones. Blurr proposes using sonic pulses to dissolve the glue, and the egomaniac takes the idea for his own and successfully frees them. Blurr immediately speeds off, launching into space and literally running across the galaxy, ricocheting off everything in his path (including the egomaniac) to get back to Cybertron and inform the Elite Guard of Megatron's invasion plan.

Megatron and Starscream force their way into Omega Supreme's body, but this action brings the giant Autobot back online, and his internal systems immediately seize the Decepticons. Megatron exploits Omega's simple processor and convinces the titan to take him back to Cybertron "to face justice". Omega transforms back into ship mode and TransWarps off toward Cybertron.

Back on Earth, Bumblebee and Bulkhead are searching through the ruins of the mine when Bumblebee discovers a [[Plasmadynamic thruster|plasmadynamic thruster]] space bridge component that abruptly TransWarps him away. While Bulkhead is wondering where his buddy went, he is suddenly attacked by Henry Masterson, who recovered his Headmaster unit and Starscream's headless body from the mine the night before.

At Sumdac Tower, Prowl shadows Sumdac into his laboratory, quickly accesses his computers, and scans the scientist in an attempt to learn more about Sari's origins. Ratchet is having distinctly less luck back at the Autobot base, where Sari refuses to let him perform an exploratory surgery. The whole unpleasant affair reminds Ratchet of his past on Cybertron, when he performed open-processor surgery on Arcee and discovered she was carrying the codes that were key to the creation of Omega Supreme. Prime snaps Ratchet out of his flashback with the news that he cannot contact Bumblebee and Bulkhead, and Ratchet heads out to the mine to investigate.

[[Image:TFA TransWarped Headmaster Starscream power up.jpg|thumb|right|180px|[[A Bridge Too Close, Part II|Here we go again...]]]]
With the other Autobots busy, Optimus Prime tries to patch up the Sumdac family feud by surreptitiously opening a comm channel to Professor Sumdac's laboratory and explaining loudly and at length to Sari that he is going to take her to [[Burger Bot]]. Sumdac catches on and heads out to meet them there, but Sari is furious at being set up and refuses to talk to him. Unfortunately, the Headmaster soon arrives, having picked up Prime's phone call through bugs left in Sumdac Tower, and threatens to unleash t0t47 0wN4ge!

===Part II===
[[Image:TFAni TransWarped Headmaster PWN3D.jpg|left|180px|thumb|Heads out.]]
Optimus Prime engages the Headmaster, binding him with his grapplers and dragging him around the Burger Bot parking lot before taking a moment to usher the Sumdacs to safety behind a dumpster. The fight carries the two combatants to an overhead roadway and back, with the Headmaster eventually downing Prime with a slab of concrete. Sumdac is forced to take action, and he hides Sari within the dumpster so that he can draw the Headmaster's attention and keep her safe. Touched by this, Sari unleashes her energy projectors on the Headmaster in defence of her father, though they do little to the villain other than draw his attention. Prime rejoins the battle just in time, ramming the villain in truck mode and goading the Headmaster into trying to transform Starscream's body as well. Infuriated by Prime's claim that a n00b such as he would find it difficult, the Headmaster tries to meet the challenge... only to find his Headmaster unit squeezed clean off Starscream's body by the transformation process. As Starscream's lifeless carcass spirals off into the river, the Headmaster is apprehended by Prime and handed over to [[Captain Fanzone]].

Back at Sumdac tower, Prowl reveals his findings to Prime, Sari and Sumdac: He believes that the body Sumdac found in his lab was, in fact, a Cybertronian [[protoform]] that scanned Professor Sumdac's genetic data. Sari takes the revelation in stride, although everyone else remains mystified as to how a protoform wound up on Earth in the first place. There is no time to dwell on the subject, however, as Ratchet radios Prime to inform him of Bulkhead's injuries and Bumblebee's disappearance.

Out in space, Omega Supreme re-emerges from TransWarp, and his systems all power down, having been sapped of energy by the effort of the teleport. Megatron attempts to escape from the confines of the giant Autobot's body, but without his weapons, he is unable. Starscream's new sonic blaster is similarly ineffective, and Megatron instead schemes to take control of Omega's very body.

[[Image:TFAni TransWarped Blurr Crushed.jpg|180px|right|thumb|"We... are going... to die!"]]
On Cybertron, Shockwave (in the form of Longarm Prime) is informed by [[Cliffjumper (Animated)|Cliffjumper]] that the space bridge network has been shut down to prevent a Decepticon invasion of the planet. Suppressing his frustration, Shockwave is promptly presented with an outlet for his anger when Blurr comes streaking out of the sky and crashes at his feet. Blurr informs him of the double-agent on Cybertron, whom he plans to identify by cross-referencing his voice-print with the Cybertron intelligence database, and Shockwave immediately attacks the speedster, intent on silencing him before his cover can be blown. Blurr streaks off into a series of nearby corridors, but his speed fails to carry him beyond Shockwave's reach: Using a control console, Shockwave seals off the tunnels, and Blurr is crushed between two walls.

Back on Earth, Ratchet's treatment of Bulkhead is interrupted by Sari, who volunteers use of her Key to fix the larger Autobot's wounds. Ratchet is indignant, insisting that just because something is new, it doesn't make it better, but Bulkhead requests the Key. While Sari goes to work on Bulkhead's injuries, the sullen medic is overtaken by his memories; he recalls the creation of Omega Supreme and how he was partnered with the newborn titan to serve as his mentor, teacher and friend. Ratchet is roused from his unpleasant trip down memory lane when discussion turns to the whereabouts of Bumblebee, and before long, Bulkhead figures out that the plasmadynamic thruster has TransWarped Bumblebee off across the galaxy. Bulkhead suggests using a retrieval beacon generator recovered from the mine ruins to pinpoint Bumblebee's location, and Sari uses her Key to fix it before Ratchet can even begin examining it.

Aboard Omega Supreme, Megatron uses his stasis cuffs to "hotwire" Omega's body and bring it back online. However, when the light from Omega's "headlights" falls upon a nearby asteroid, Megatron and Starscream are shocked to see the rock react to the light, transforming into a humanoid monster that immediately attacks the ship! As more asteroids transform around him, Omega TransWarps away to safety...only for Bumblebee, cruising on the tail end of Omega's TransWarp field, to materialize in his place, right in the midst of the rock creatures! The largest creature swallows the tiny Autobot with a single gulp.

Simultaneously, on Earth, Bulkhead locks in on Bumblebee's position and teleports him back, but the rock creature he is inside comes with him and is immediately driven to a rampage by the blinding light of the [[Sun]]. Optimus Prime detects Bumblebee's signature within the creature, and the Autobots prepare to give chase as the alien stomps off through the city. Prowl is rather taken aback to see Ratchet wearing his EMP generator on his arm once more, while Prime has to deal with Sari's demands that she be allowed to join them in the fight now that she has powers. Prime refuses, and the Autobots zoom off after the rock monster, but Sari won't take no for an answer and is struck with inspiration: Give herself an upgrade! Sari concentrates, and a port opens in her chest, into which she inserts her Key...and in an explosion of energy, Sari's whole body transforms into a taller, older form, suited in combat armor!

[[Image:TFAni TransWarped Screamer Hotwire OmegaSupreme.jpg|left|180px|thumb|Name: Starscream<br>Function: Jumper Cable]]
Meanwhile, Megatron has discovered that Omega Supreme has again expended all his power, and his stasis cuffs do not have the energy left to rectify the situation. He grabs Starscream's head and jams it into the circuits, where the traitor's AllSpark fragment energizes Omega's systems once more.

[[Image:TransWarpedBumblebeeSari.jpg|thumb|right|180px|So, kids, don't play with too many knives!]]
Back in Detroit, the Autobots are attempting to figure out how to stop the rock creature without hurting Bumblebee, when the upgraded Sari comes streaking onto the scene on jet skates. As the Autobots look on in shock, Sari begins attacking the alien with arm-blades and an energy-hammer that morph out of her arms. A single strike of the hammer reduces the alien to boulders, freeing Bumblebee, who is immediately struck by Sari's new look, but then shouts a warning: The smaller boulders surrounding the pair have transformed into small creatures. But the creatures pose no threat to Sari, and she pounds them into pebbles. As Sari basks in her triumph, Ratchet realizes with horror that she has used the Key on herself. The elderly Autobot's concern is soon proven valid, as the Key overloads Sari's systems, and she loses control of her body. With Sari attacking everything and everyone around her, the Autobots attempt to stop her with a variety of non-lethal strategies, but Sari counters everything they throw at her, including Prowl's processor-over-matter technique. Even as Prime and Sari tell Bumblebee to keep back, the young Autobot races to his friend's side...only for the out-of-control Sari to stab him through the chest! Frozen for a horrific moment, Bumblebee is then hurled back by an energy discharge, and the light dims from his optics...

===Part III===
Ratchet leaps to Bumblebee's aid, but without Sari's Key, Bulkhead fears his little buddy is done for. Ratchet denies that he requires the key to do his job, but his memories of when he was forced to place the dying Omega Supreme in stasis haunt him as he begins to operate on Bumblebee.

[[Image:TFAni TransWarped Ratchet Repairs Bumblebee.jpg|left|thumb|180px|Operator, what's the number for Nine-One-One?]]
Sari, meanwhile, is storming through the city streets, causing objects to explode when she comes into contact with them, and the Autobots head after her, seeking to remove the Key in hopes of bringing her back under control. They corral her with a wall of steel girders, affording Prowl the chance to get the drop on her and rip the Key from her chest, but Sari continues to rampage. With Bumblebee fading, Ratchet goes back on his previous claim and requests the Key be brought to him, but when Prowl complies, he discovers that the energy of the Key has been completely drained. Prowl assures Ratchet that he can accomplish the task without the Key, and the old medic gravely takes up the challenge and manages to bring Bumblebee back online.

Back with Sari, Prime and Bulkhead, Sari's energies are growing increasingly more out of control, as the street beneath her explodes with every step she takes. Bulkhead suggests just trying to "hold it in," but when Sari tries, things get even worse, as she begins to glow with so much energy that she is on the verge of exploding. Optimus summons Ratchet so that he can use his EMP generator to take Sari down, and while Ratchet is hesitant to do so, Sari begs him to stop her. Ratchet fires, and Sari collapses, her energy fading.

[[Image:TFAni TransWarped LongArm Cliffjumper Cube.jpg|right|thumb|180px|Kid's meal premiums aren't what they used to be.]]
On Cybertron, Longarm Prime has Cliffjumper dispose of the crushed remains of Blurr and is then contacted by Megatron. Learning that the space bridge network is down and that the Earth-based Autobots are poised to blow Shockwave's cover, Megatron orders the Decepticons to cease their attacks on the space bridges so that he can solve both problems his own way. Team Chaar receive the transmission and fall back, much to the Elite Guard's surprise.

In the Autobots' base, Ratchet completes a rewiring of Sari's systems, bypassing the circuits that caused her to run out of control. Professor Sumdac soon arrives, having been informed of the location of the base by Optimus Prime. The Autobots are a little upset by this, but Prime makes it clear that there are to be no more secrets in this "family". The Autobots step outside the plant to give the Sumdacs some time together, and are in the middle of catching Bumblebee up on recent events when the small Autobot suddenly begins to glow with TransWarp energies once more. Bulkhead quickly deactivates the plasmadynamic thruster, but the source of the TransWarp wave the thruster was picking up soon becomes apparent, as Omega Supreme materializes in the sky overhead. Much to the Autobots' surprise, the titan fires upon them before transforming to robot mode, revealing a projected image of Megatron's face upon his visor! The Decepticon leader is in complete control of Omega's body and begins attacking the Autobots, forcing Optimus Prime to consider unleashing an uncontrollable Sari on the giant. Before resorting to this desperate last resort, the Autobots attempt to lure Megatron away from the city. Ratchet even upgrades Bumblebee's stingers to a more powerful battle grade for the mission.

[[Image:TFAni TransWarped Prowl Megs OSFight.jpg|left|thumb|180px|I'm going to have to put you on the game grid.]]
Taking refuge in the nearby river, the Autobots attack Omega's legs, forcing open an access hatch through which Prime and Prowl enter Omega's body. Battling Omega's internal defences, Prowl taps into Omega's processor in order to help him fight off Megatron's control, and they succeed in forcing Megatron out of the system. Prime engages Megatronin order to keep Prowl safe, but as their battle rages, Starscream seizes control of Omega's mind and forcibly disconnects Prowl from Omega's processor. Prime and Prowl are unceremoniously ejected from Omega Supreme's body, but Starscream is not finished there; he uses Omega's internal defences to seize Megatron, and resumes attacking the Autobots all around him. Megatron manages to talk Starscream into an alliance, suggesting they forget Earth and conquer Cybertron together. Starscream struggles to activate Omega's TransWarp system, and while his attention is occupied with this task, Omega's consciousness fights its way to the surface and begs Ratchet to shut him down again. Ratchet regretfully unleashes his EMP generator upon Omega, but it has no effect, and Starscream transforms Omega into starship mode in order to begin the TransWarp. Bulkhead and Bumblebee hit upon the idea to plant the plasmadynamic thruster on Omega Supreme, and they hand it off to Prime to complete the task. Prime plants the thruster at the last second before Omega disappears into TransWarp, and Ratchet catches Prime with his magnets as he falls out of the sky.

Back at the Autobot base a little later, Sari comes to and admits to Ratchet that he was right about taking it slow. Sumdac apologizes for holding back the truth from Sari for so long, and Bumblebee thanks Ratchet for saving his tailpipe. Unfortunately, Bulkhead brings the mood down by reminding everyone that they still have to find a way to contact Cybertron.

[[Image:TFA TransWarped lost in space.JPG|thumb|right|180px|[[Ripped Up Space]]]]
On Cybertron, [[Ultra Magnus (Animated)|Ultra Magnus]] holds an Autobot council and announces that all the evidence points to a double agent on Cybertron. Longarm Prime implicates escaped convict [[Wasp]], and Ultra Magnus instructs [[Sentinel Prime (Animated)|Sentinel Prime]] and [[Jazz (Animated)|Jazz]] to put together a unit to hunt the fugitive down. Magnus also notes that he has to make contact with Optimus's crew on Earth, and Longarm hastily demands that all contact with them be filtered through him, responding to the council's wary looks by adding that it will be purely for security reasons.

In the sky above Cybertron, Omega Supreme materializes, and Starscream howls with glee...only for the Autobot spaceship to TransWarp away immediately to another random point in space...and another...and another...
"Sari, I don't pretend to fully understand humans, but from what I've seen, being a father is far more than a simple organic bond. It has much more to do with the spark. With the heart."
That is, unless you don't think you can handle transforming. It ''is'' pretty difficult. Especially for a "n00b" such as yourself.<br>
'''Masterson''': N-Nobody calls me a n00b! NOBODY!

'''Megatron''': It's no use. I can't break through without my weapons.<br>
'''Starscream''': Ahem. You're forgetting one of us ''is'' a weapon.<br>
''[Starscream fires his sonic blast, but the recoil sends him ricocheting around the bridge, screaming all the while]''<br>
'''Megatron''': And a pitiful one, at that.<br>

'''Ratchet''': Last time I checked, I was this team's medic, and I've been doing it this way for over four million stellar cycles! Any bot got a problem with that?<br>
'''Prowl''': Uh, no, not really.<br>
'''Bulkhead''': No, I'm good.
==Notes==

===Technical or animation errors===
* When Megatron is first seen in space, parts of his helmet are miscolored red.
* When Sari removes her key in order to place it in the homing beacon generator, the string doesn't actually go over her head... It just phases through her neck. Somehow.
* The damage to Starscream's body disappears during the commercial break.
* When Bumblebee tells Sari to watch out, her back kibble disappears for a moment. It reappears in the next shot.
* Once the key has been removed from Sari, the string attached to it mysteriously reappears.
* When Ratchet is talking to Bumblebee about Sari's condition, the side of his head is miscolored white.
* When Blackout attacks Rodimus, his chest is miscolored gray.
* After Bumblebee is slashed, there's a red spot on Bulkhead with an Autobot symbol inside it.

===Continuity errors===
* Megatron finds both of his rotors/swords after being freed from the stasis cuffs, despite leaving ''at least'' one behind when he was sucked into the space bridge in "A Bridge Too Close".
* When Bumblebee gets blown away in "Part II" after being stabbed by Sari, he lands on his back. When we cut back to him in "Part III", he appears on his side.
* Bumblebee’s rocket boosters seemingly appear out of nowhere. With Ratchet's upgrading of his stingers and now this, it seems that <s>Hasbro</s> the Autobots have gotten over their "Upgrades are bad, m'kay" phase. Spending two seasons out-gunned will probably do that to you.
* Sentinel is back in his Earth body, despite being shown in his Cybertronian body during ''[[Autoboot Camp]]''.
* If Sumdac was wearing gloves at the time he touched the protoform, how did it get his DNA?

===Transformers references===
*Bar Oil Slick, every member of the new squads harkens back to a previous series. Rodimus, Ironhide, Brawn and Cyclonus are heavily based off their Generation One counterparts. Red Alert and Hot Shot take after their Unicron Trilogy incarnations. Spittor and Strika are both modeled after Beast Era characters, and Blackout's design is heavily influenced by the live-action movie version.
*As Sari dismisses Isaac Sumdac's story of her origin, she suggests that he should have told her how he found her "in a cabbage patch", or how "the stork" brought her. Similar ideas were suggested by Professors Bumblebee and Bulkhead in "[[The Return of the Headmaster]]". In that episode, the professors also suggested that Sari was really a robot, that she came to Earth in an egg, or that she could have fallen through a portal, ''all'' of which seem to have some nugget of truth to them: She ''is'' a robot, she was contained in a strange pod, and she appeared in Sumdac's lab out of thin air. ''Foreshadowing!''
*After Sari mentions those theories, Optimus Prime recalls how Sari told him of human manufacturing, which occurred in "[[Transform and Roll Out]]".
*While lecturing her on taking it slow with her powers, Ratchet says that there's "more than meets the vis-scanners" on having powers, a clear reference to the time-honored Transformers tagline "[[More than Meets the Eye (disambiguation)|more than meets the eye]]".
*Starscream says Omega Supreme is "more powerful than I imagined...well, not AllSpark-powerful...", in reference to his use of the same phrase to describe the AllSpark way back in "Transform and Roll Out!"
*Arcee's open head looks ''waaay'' too much like [[Alex Milne]]'s cover for [[IDW Publishing]]'s "[[Spotlight: Arcee]]" to be a coincidence.
*Blurr races along a Saturn-style planetary ring, as [[Blurr (G1)|his namesake]] had done in the [[The Transformers (cartoon)#Season 3|Generation 1 season 3]] opening credits.
*The building in which the Autobot Elite Guard have their meeting looks [[Metroplex (G1)|somewhat familiar]].
*Blackout seems to have retained his seismic stomp that was used by his [[Blackout (Movie)|movie counterpart]].
*Team Chaar gets its name from [[Chaar|the planet of the same name]].

===Real-world references===
* Megatron tells Optimus, "You have persistence, Autobot. I hate persistence." This is based on Lou Grant's well-known dialogue from the first episode of ''The Mary Tyler Moore Show''—"You know what, you've got spunk! … I hate spunk!"
*Sari's transformation sequence upon absorbing the power of the key is a nod to the transformation sequence of the title robot in ''Tengen Toppa Gurren Lagann''.

===Trivia===
*[[Derrick J. Wyatt]] confirmed via. Twitter after the show aired that like the series pilot, "[[Transform and Roll Out]]", "TransWarped" was made "as one 70 minute movie", although it was also cut into 22-minute episodes for syndication.<ref>[[Derrick J. Wyatt]] — http://twitter.com/DerrickJWyatt/status/1329673450 — "We made it as one 70 minute movie, but it has also been cut into three 22s".</ref> Unlike the pilot, however, "TransWarped" counts as three episodes out of the thirteen alotted for the show's third season. While Cartoon Network aired all three episode in movie form for their premiere, Canadian network YTV opted to debut them in episodic form, airing only the first two in a double-bill, and then screening the final part the following week.
* The creatures that turn into rocks are a reference to the Rock Lords from the GoBots movie ''[[Wikipedia:Gobots: Battle of the Rock Lords|GoBots: Battle of the Rock Lords]]''
*It is revealed that the streak of white in Isaac's hair came from the shock he received when he approached the protoform that would become Sari. Pay no attention to the streak in the hair of his younger self appearing in "[[Transform and Roll Out]]", please...
*Starscream gains a "sonic scream" as a head-mounted weapon in this episode. Coincidentally (or not?), in the initial [[Cartoon Network]] press release for Transformers Animated, Starscream's profile claimed that he had a sonic scream he could use to send foes spinning through the air.
*The Headmaster's appearance in this episode marks the only time a human villain is used in Season 3. And even then, he's relatively minor compared to a Decepticon-controlled Omega Supreme.
'''Astrotrain and Blitzwing depose Megatron and Starscream, then proceed to wreak havoc.'''

==Synopsis==
[[Starscream (G1)|Starscream]], [[Blitzwing (G1)|Blitzwing]] and [[Astrotrain (G1)|Astrotrain]] are using their weapons to carve their faces along with Megatron's into a mountainside. They agree one of the faces doesn't belong, then decide to band together and overthrow Megatron. Flying back to base, Blitzwing and Astrotrain decide who should lead Megatron into the trap, one of them suggesting Starscream while the other counters how the [[Air Commander]] has constantly been attempting to become leader of the [[Decepticon]]s and failed. Starscream retorts as usual and says he will do it, and the other two gloat about manipulating him.

[[Image:Tripletakeoverblitzwingcoach.jpg|left|175px|thumb|The Coach rivals Prowl, Jazz, and Ultra Magnus as "Best Sub-Commander ever".]]

Starscream leads Megatron into the sewers, stating that a secret [[Autobot]] energy base is present there, but the doors close around them. Megatron recognizes it's a trap but gets frozen. Starscream gloats and tries to escape through a hatch but finds out that it's been locked by his "allies". This leaves Astrotrain and Blitzwing as joint Decepticon leaders.

Heading for a stadium, Blitzwing, in a display of great intelligence, drafts a football coach to be his [[second-in-command]] and demands tactical advice from him. Blitzwing misinterprets the coach's suggestions of "zone defense" and "long bomb" and has the [[Constructicon (G1)|Constructicons]] build a massive highway maze, then begins firing "long bombs" from the stadium into the surrounding city. [[Prowl (G1)|Prowl]] leads a group of Autobots to investigate, but they end up crashing into each other in the Constructicons' maze. Meanwhile, Astrotrain heads to a train station, where he "conscripts" the [[Astroforce]], human trains which are to be his army. He sends them into a tunnel to collect energy lines and convert them into [[Energon (fuel)|energon]]. It actually goes quite well for Astrotrain. The Astroforce? Not so much.

Meanwhile, [[Powerglide (G1)|Powerglide]] flies over the maze, where [[Scrapper (G1)|Scrapper]] has built himself a throne... made of Prowl, [[Tracks (G1)|Tracks]], [[Skids (G1)|Skids]], and [[Bluestreak]]. Guided by Powerglide from the air, [[Hoist (G1)|Hoist]] and [[Smokescreen (G1)|Smokescreen]] manage to rescue the Autobots, causing Blitzwing and Scrapper to crash into each other. At the train station, the [[Seeker|Seekers]] come to see how Astrotrain is doing. To his credit, he has gotten a lot of [[energon cube]]s, but his Astroforce has somehow gotten off their tracks and into a knot. Astrotrain urges one of the trains to gather some energy from a gas main, but it turns out to be a water main, which floods the tunnel. Worse, it heads into the tunnel in which Megatron and Starscream are trapped. Online again, Megatron accuses Starscream of another attempt at treason. Starscream maintains that he was tricked.

[[Optimus Prime (G1)|Optimus Prime]], [[Ironhide (G1)|Ironhide]], and [[Spike Witwicky (G1)|Spike]] see the two Decepticons, only to be distracted by the water main flooding the city. [[Trailbreaker (G1)|Trailbreaker]] uses his [[force field]] to push back the water, while Optimus and Ironhide seal the main. Heading for the station, Megatron and Starscream encounter Prime, who claims that he's looking for the real leaders of the Decepticons, implying it isn't the two of them. This really angers Megatron, who tries to kill the Autobot leader, but Prime escapes. Megatron leaves to put Astrotrain and Blitzwing in their place, while the Seekers watch and place bets on who will win. Optimus, however, is content to sit back and wait for the outcome.

At the stadium, the Constructicons demand a share of the power Blitzwing promised, but he refuses and tells them to go jump off a bridge. Bad idea, for the Constructicons form [[Devastator (G1)|Devastator]]. The flood from the water main finally dies out at the stadium, depositing Astrotrain, who decides to scrap Blitzwing as well.

[[Image:Tripletakeoverautobotthrone.jpg|right|175px|thumb|Unfortunately, the "Seatmaster" line never really took off...]]

Megatron and Starscream arrive, and Megs beats his would-be usurpers senseless, but Devastator knocks out Megatron, then turns his sights on the Air Commander. Starscream manages to dodge Devastator, then Megatron slams the giant. Megatron, Blitzwing, Astrotrain, Starscream, and Devastator then engage in a battle royale which sees Megatron emerge victorious. He decides to spare the traitors, saying the Decepticon cause is too important, but warns them never to betray him again.

As the Autobots look on, they're impressed that Prime knew that Megatron would handle the Decepticons for them. The previously injured Autobots form a throne for their commander to sit on, but Optimus Prime declares that he'd rather [[Roll out|roll]].
:—A hapless '''football player''' and his '''coach''' meet Blitzwing.

"Tell me what's on your mind, or I'll splatter it on the wall and see for myself!"
:—'''Blitzwing''' to <s>the football coach</s> his second-in-command.

"Scrapper calling Blitzwing. What is the point of this highway maze you ordered us to build?"<br>
"It's a ''zone defense'', you ignorant fool!"
:—'''Blitzwing''' explains the perfectly obvious to '''Scrapper'''

"Scrapper, how big is our zone defense?"<br>
"Can't tell. All the others are lost in it! All I know is, it's big!"
:—Decepticon "leader" '''Blitzwing''' and '''Scrapper'''

"You are either lying, or you're ''stupid!''"<br>
"I'm stupid! I'm stupid!"
:—'''Megatron''' and '''Starscream''' as the latter attempts to blame the Triple Changers for the takeover.

"Tell you what, guys, why don't you go build a bridge...and ''jump off it''!"<br>
"Constructicons... transform into Devastator!"<br>
"Hey! No offense, big guy!"
:—'''Blitzwing''' refuses '''Scrapper'''<nowiki>'</nowiki>s bargain of a joint leadership of the Decepticons...very unwise move.

"Don't waste your time, Megatron. Incinerating you is of no interest to me. I'm looking for the leaders of the Decepticons."<br>
"''I'' am the Decepticon leader!"<br>
"You and Starscream are just a nuisance. A couple of metallic mosquitoes."<br>
"Mosquitoes?! Then feel my BITE!"
:—'''Optimus Prime''' really ticking off '''Megatron'''.

"Astrotrain couldn't lead rats to a garbage can."
''(Other Decepticons snicker)''

'''Ramjet''': My money is on Devastator."
:—Who becomes new leader of the Decepticons? PLACE BETS NOW!

"Get this straight: ''I'' am Decepticon Leader. YOU are recyclable!"<br>
"Well put, Megatron!"
:—'''Megatron''' disses Blitzwing and Astrotrain, while '''Starscream''' kisses up.

"Megatron is a wimp!"<br>
"So is Starscream!"<br>
"Yes, but I'm fast!"
:—'''Starscream''' decides discretion is the better part of cowardice after '''Devastator''' defeats Megatron.

"The Decepticon cause supersedes personal vengeance. But never forget that I, Megatron, will always be leader of the Decepticons!"<br>
:—'''Megatron''' lays down the law, and somewhere, [[Raksha]] is swooning.

'''Ironhide:''' "I guess Prime was right. Megatron took care of the Decepticons for us."<br>
==Notes==
===Animation or technical glitches===
* At several points, the colors of [[Thrust (G1)|Thrust]], [[Dirge (G1)|Dirge]] and [[Ramjet (G1)|Ramjet]] get mixed up.
* When Blitzwing plows through the goal at the football stadium, the debris left behind vanishes in the next frame.
* When Blitzwing grabs the football coach, the coach is yelling, "Okay! Okay....commander!", but ''Blitzwing'' is the one mouthing the words!
* When Astrotrain wrests down a computer component to start work on his train army, the component vanishes as he rips out the engine. For a brief moment afterwards, it appears as if Astrotrain picks up thin air with his hands.
* The lockers that Blitzwing kicks open to stuff his "second in command" into are [[Scale|extremely huge]]. If one compares the size of the coach to one of those lockers, he would need to ''jump'' just to reach one of the handles.
* On that note, how ''exactly'' does Blitzwing kick the locker door open? By all rights, it should be a lump of scrap metal on the floor.
* Scrapper is seen scooping a load of dirt when he appears, but as he transforms, not only is the dirt gone, but he appears in an entirely different location.

===Continuity errors===
*Starscream can be seen together with the other seekers inspecting Astrotrain's new troops, even though he and Megatron are supposed to be frozen in a room elsewhere under the city.
*At some point, Blitzwing can be seen flying together with Ramjet and Thrust, heading for... Blitzwing?
*In only a few minutes, a burst water main flooded a good deal of a city, at some points the water being as high as a 20-story building.
*The coach is introduced commanding the team with the same colors as his own clothing, but by the time the game gets interrupted by Blitzwing, he's commanding the ''other'' team. Eh?

===Trivia===
* Devastator makes his first willing attempt at usurping control of the Decepticons from Megatron and actually attacking his former leader, something that goes against previous character portrayals, in which he was shown as a loyal follower. Also, how Megatron was able to defeat him is unknown, since the battle ended off-screen. (Earlier in the fight, Megatron's fusion cannon shots just bounced off him, so it's a big mystery.)
* Blitzwing's takeover of a football stadium is nothing short of hilarious. First, he blasts right through the wall, and everybody continues on as if nothing happened. Then, when one of the football players ''finally'' notices a big tank turret aimed at his face, the coach's first order of action is to...tell him to give Blitzwing the ball. Wait....'''''WHAT?!'''''
* In contrast, the conductor who appears when Astrotrain takes over the train station knows full well to hightail it and run when the latter reveals himself. Seeing as how everybody else just ''stood there'' despite him yelling for them to run for their lives, this officially makes him the only [[human]] in this entire ''episode'' with half a brain.
* As Blitzwing is firing "long bombs" all over the place, isn't he the ''least'' bit concerned that he'll accidentally blow up the "zone defense" he's having the [[Constructicon (G1)|Constructicons]] build?
* Where the hell is [[Soundwave (G1)|Soundwave]] while this coup attempt is going on?
* This is the second and last time that Skids shows up in the Generation 1 cartoon.
While flying in [[Air Force One]], the President asked an [[Staff Sergeant Tracy|enlisted aide]] to grab him some Ding Dongs. Out of sight, said aide showed contempt for the idea of grabbing the man some Ding Dongs, obviously expecting a more exalted duty out of her [[United States Air Force|Air Force]] career. She used the elevator to access the food storage, unwittingly bringing along [[Frenzy (Movie)|somebody]] for the ride.

While unpacking a Ding Dong, the aide dropped it onto the floor. Not bothering to notice Frenzy nearby, the aide dusted it off and took a bite out of the compromised Ding Dong. She declared it "gross". {{storylink|Transformers (2007)|Transformers}}
'''Megatron begins to change... for the worse!'''

==Synopsis==
Thousands of years ago, in what will become Egypt, a bunch of [[human]]s are building a pyramid. The start of a thunderstorm sends them fleeing into a stone archway—an entrance adorned by a [[Decepticon]] [[insignia]]. Not too long ago, the people had witnessed the actions of a great evil, and though it has gone, they fearfully await its return.

[[Cybertron (planet)|Cybertron]], in Megatron's quarters in [[Trypticon (Movie)|Trypticon]]. The Cybertronian leader lays vulnerable on the floor, until a mysterious voice tells him to "awaken."

Clocker, Warpath, and Signal Flare dig up the remains of dead Transformers under the watchful gaze of Optimus. When they ask what happened, Optimus explains about the earlier alien attack. Before he seeks out answers about who attacked them or why, though, he wants to help the attack's victims. He sets out to the temple at [[Simfur]], where Bumblebee and Cliffjumper wonder about what's going to happen next; Bumblebee feels something big is about to happen, but Cliffjumper reminds him that they're just sentries, and will probably be left out of it. Prowl arrives, and after scaring them into shape, asks them about the behavior of the [[All Spark]] during the battle. Jazz and Prowl accompany Optimus; Prowl notes that it looks like the aliens were trying to break in, and bets that they were after the All Spark itself.

Megatron arises, guided by the mysterious voice, which explains it has used the last of its power to heal his grievous wound. His demands to see the voice's face prove fruitless, but it does say that, if he will help it, it can take him from being ''Protector'' of Cybertron to being its ''Lord''. It then fires a beam into his eyes, asking that he allow it to "expound."

Back on the battlefield, Optimus and Arcee find the body of one of the aliens. Unfortunately, it's already dead. Unable to glean any more information, Optimus goes to find Megatron, leaving Arcee and the others to take the remains to Ratchet. When he arrives, Megatron delivers a surprising proclamation: Cybertron is going to war! Optimus, while not able to fully understand, promptly states that his division, never meant for battle, will not be on the frontlines. He also points out that Megatron's team is supposed to defend, not attack. Megatron responds by slamming Optimus into a wall, and demanding once again that he assemble his team.

Ratchet analyzes the alien remains, discovering that their structure is actually similar to that of [[Transformer]]s; although they appear incapable of [[transformation]]. They have what could be [[spark]] cores. Signal Flare drops in to announce that Optimus has called a meeting, and they need to be there ''now''. Soon, Optimus stands before his fellow Autobots, and says that they should focus their efforts on helping the ruined city of [[Metrotitan (Movie)|Metrotitan]]. He says that, when Megatron tells them to join in the counterattack, they should not follow him, as it goes against everything [[Autobot]]s stand for. He says that those who wish to fight may do so, but extends his thanks to those that would rather stay with him. He and the Autobots then travel to Trypticon.

There, Megatron delivers a similar speech, rallying his soldiers to battle. After he finishes barking out orders, he leads his troops into space to attack the alien fleet in the [[Eshems Nebula]]. While they fight, Optimus remains with some of his own troops on the ground. He speaks to Prowl about Megatron's leadership, noting that there seems to be a divide in their ranks. Jazz replies that Megatron hasn't incorporated them into his army, instead giving them little more than sentry duty. When Prowl tells Optimus that includes guarding Megatron's quarters, Optimus asks for a favor...

Blackout disrupts the enemy ship's shields and communications; Megatron promptly moves in for the kill. He rips his way through the ship; as his "master" says, since they came for the All Spark, he's coming for their lives. He finds and kills the ship's captain, then orders Starscream to destroy it altogether. He then returns to Cybertron to see what other guidance his new ally has for him.
{{disambig3|Megatron}}
:''Megatron is a [[Predacon (BW)|Predacon]], a [[Vehicon (BM)|Vehicon]], and a [[Decepticon]] in the [[Beast Era]] portion of the [[Generation 1 (franchise)|Generation 1]] [[continuity family]]. He's also briefly known as [[Noble|Savage and Noble]]. He's a busy villain, yesss.''

[[Image:BWMegatronSticker.jpg|right|300px|thumb|Best. Megatron. Ever. Yesss...]]
'''Megatron''' began with one goal: restoring glory and power to the Predacon race, with himself at the helm. What distinguishes Megatron from the countless others who share this goal is his chutzpah. He is willing to risk everything—time, space, himself—if need be. And there were times he would have made it happen were it not for [[Optimus Primal]].

Megatron is skillful at orchestrating vast schemes by manipulating others into doing them for him—an idle suggestion here, a conspicuously-planted object of interest there. He knows his enemies, and these include [[Tarantulas|some]] [[Blackarachnia (BW)|minions]], inside and out and exactly how to provoke them. He has no friends, only pawns, or occasionally, [[Inferno (BW)|pawns that are too reliable to risk losing]]. Because of this attitude, this superiority complex, he despises working with the very troops he needs to carry out his plans. His hubris does not make him very popular, and so he must rely on power and fear to rule them. In fact, he prefers [[Vehicon (BM)|mindless drones]].

Megatron is a gambler and can sometimes be a ham. (His manner of saying "Yesss..." is practically vaudevillian.) He has a twisted sense of humor and an over-developed sense of drama which rule everything he conceives, both long and short term. When he destroys you, he wants you to know that it was he who did this, and just how badly you were had. This is his greatest weakness. Like a Bond villain, he'll gladly boast to the hero at length about how smart and clever he was, giving his victim time to formulate a counterattack (he admits the Predacons sometimes gloat too much). He often sabotages himself by neglecting the quick and easy solutions for the bigger, meaner, and more complex.

Prior to the signing of the [[Pax Cybertronia]], Megatron was a field commander in the Predacon army, where he learned much about strategy and tactics. Upon ratification of peace with the [[Maximal Imperium]] most Predacons laid down their arms. Megatron refused and went rogue.
On planet [[Cybertron (planet)|Cybertron]], Megatron once disagreed with [[Galvatron (BWII)|Galvatron]] over opinions on galactic conquest, and engaged him in battle over it. Megatron was the star pupil of the crimelord [[Cryotek (RID)|Cryotek]], and successfully carried out his plan to steal the [[Golden Disk (Voyager)|Golden Disk]]. Cryotek loved him like a son—which didn't stop him setting up Megatron to take the fall for the crime, knowing he'd betray him some day anyway. Unfortunately for Cryotek, "some day" was today—Megatron had everyone on the mission who wasn't loyal to him killed, had the data for the location of the Disk secretly decoded by [[Tarantulas]], and then kept it for himself while directing the Maximals to his tutor. This was the first known time that Megatron would co-opt the plan of someone who thought they were the ones being manipulative and backstabbing, but [[Other Voices, Part 2|wouldn't]] [[The Agenda (Part 2)|be]] [[The Agenda (Part III)|the]] [[Nemesis Part 1|last]]. {{storylink|Theft of the Golden Disk}}
{{note|This fiction takes place before "[[Beast Wars (Part 1)]]".}}
[[Image:Megatronbwsuit.jpg|right|150px|thumb|Megatron's technicolor dreamcoat.]]
On Cybertron, Megatron wore removable transformable armor, which transformed into a missile-launching armored platform, over his basic bodyframe (which transforms into a hovertank). This quickly-discarded outer shell was possibly used to comply with the ratification of the [[Pax Cybertronia]], which required Predacons to lay down their arms. A Predacon field commander before the peace, Megatron refused to comply with these new regulations and struck out on his own to destroy the [[Maximal Imperium]].

With some [[Cryotek (RID)|help]] from [[Divebomb (G1)|various sources]], he assembled a crew of ragtag criminals and miscreants for the purpose of stealing the Golden Disk and using it to find [[Earth]]. Succeeding in stealing the disk, he, [[Dinobot (BW)|his lieutenant]], and [[Scorponok (BW)|another accomplice]] fought their way out of the [[Archives]], eliminating [[Unit 1|one guard]] and dodging [[Tigatron|another]]. They were swiftly picked up by the ''[[Darksyde]]'', a ship stolen by the rest of their crew.

Megatron instructed [[Tarantulas]] to study the disk for the coordinates of Earth while the ''Darksyde'' battled its several pursuers. Although they were followed by the Maximal ships [[Axalon (BW)|''Axalon'']] and the ''[[Chromia 10]]'', the ''Darksyde'''s mission was also aided by a third ship crewed by the Predacon agents [[Laserbeak (G1)|Laserbeak]] and [[Buzzsaw (G1)|Buzzsaw]]. Though the ''Chromia 10'' and the Predacon ship were destroyed, the ''Darksyde'' was still followed by the ''Axalon''. Megatron removed his transformable armor and patched a video feed through to the ''Axalon''<nowiki>'</nowiki>s captain, [[Optimus Primal]]. Declaring himself the leader of the Predacons, Megatron opened a [[transwarp]] portal through which both ships travelled. {{storylink|Dawn of Future's Past}}
====Bee in the City====

{{note|This takes place after Beast Wars, but its placing beyond that is unknown}}

Somehow ending up at the multiversal hub of [[Axiom Nexus]], Megatron hid out under the alias "Joe". When he ran into [[Bumblebee (Animated)|Bumblebee]] and learned of the [[Key]], he pretended to be a heroic character and helped rescue Bumblebee's friends, only to steal the Key. Using his experience with MacGuffins, he swiftly learned how to power himself and create an army. Unfortunately, his army turned on him after learning of bureaucracy and the amount of forms they'd have to fill in now that they were alive. However, before being carried away by his former minions, Megatron promised that he would be back, and that he would get his extremely overwrought and melodramatic revenge. {{storylink|Bee in the City}}
After stealing the [[Golden Disk (Voyager)|Golden Disk]], Megatron broke into [[Vector Sigma]] along with [[Dinobot (BW)|Dinobot]] and reviewed historical files on many of the Autobots and Decepticons from the era of the Great War. He told Dinobot to refer to him henceforth as Megatron. {{storylink|More Than Meets The Eye (G1)|Transformers: More Than Meets the Eye #8}}

{{note|The Golden Disk was wrongly drawn as the [[Golden Disk (Vok)|Alien Disk]]. [[Image:Megatronbwspidersgame.jpg|left|200px|thumb|I thought I told you NO MORE BARNEY JOKES.]]
After stealing the Maximal relic, the [[Golden Disk (Voyager)|Golden Disk]], and [[Darksyde|a ship]], he and his crew were followed through a [[transwarp]] portal by the [[Axalon (BW)|''Axalon'']]. After crashing on a planet that was supposed to be [[Earth]], yet seemingly wasn't, both the [[Maximal|Maximals]] and the Predacons took organic beast forms to protect themselves against the massive amount of Energon radiation. Megatron now transformed into a purple ''Tyrannosaurus rex''.

Dinobot chastised Megatron, accusing him of leading the Predacons to the wrong planet and challenged Megatron for leadership of the Predacons. Megatron simply ignored the challenge and had Scorponok dispose of him. {{storylink|Beast Wars (Part 1)|Beast Wars (Part 1)}}

Despite the loss of a formidable crony, Megatron positioned himself on the new world and the "Beast Wars" began. Being on a world filled with Energon allowed [[Terrorsaur (BW)|Terrorsaur]] to find a superhorde, and power himself to great levels. With this power, Terrorsaur was able to demolish Megatron in battle and take over the Predacons. However, through the Maximals' actions, the superhorde was destroyed. Terrorsaur was eventually ridden of his newfound power and returned to an angered Megatron, who was rebuilt by [[Scorponok (BW)|Scorponok]]. {{storylink|Power Surge|Power Surge}}

[[Image:Megatronbwtrex.jpg|right|150px|thumb|Today is a beautiful day to be stomping on things!]]

Again, Terrorsaur tried to usurp Megatron, this time using an apparently-turned [[Rattrap]], who used a device to paralyze Megatron. The Predacons argued over who would be leader, but agreed to put Rattrap and Megatron away for the time being. Megatron was able to easily escape using his secret voice commands, leaving Rattrap to his fate. Revealing himself to have escaped, Megatron allowed Terrorsaur to lead the Predacons in battle with the Maximals. Terrorsaur failed miserably, showing his ineptitude to the Predacons, which was Megatron's plan all along. {{storylink|Double Jeopardy|Double Jeopardy}}

Megatron later formulated a plan to get off Earth. First, he had the other Predacons act dissatisfied with his leadership, causing a battle that apparently destroyed the Predacons, using a Maximal spy camera that he was aware of to play out the trick. Then, the Maximals scavenged the ''Darksyde'' for parts to repair the ''Axalon'''s stardrive. Dinobot discovered the deception and rushed to warn the leaving Maximals. In the scuffle, Megatron snuck aboard. In the ''Axalon'', he managed to knock out every Maximal on the ship but Rattrap, who he started crushing to death. An angered [[Rhinox (BW)|Rhinox]] woke up and threw Megatron off the ''Axalon''. However, Megatron's tail weapon was stuck in the console, causing the ''Axalon'' to crash. Again. {{storylink|Victory (episode)|Victory}}

[[Image:Megs transmetal.JPG|left|180px|thumb|Gimme fuel Gimme fire Gimme that which I desire BOOM!]]

Later, Megatron caught wind of the return of the [[Vok]] and called a ceasefire between the two factions, realizing he had more important things to worry about. He carefully manipulated events so the Maximals would find out about the Vok and that Tarantulas's attempt to escape with a modified stasis pod would succeed. {{storylink|Before the Storm|Before the Storm}} The Vok did indeed return, and planned to destroy the planet the Transformers were on with their massive [[Planet Buster]] (cleverly disguised as the [[Moon (moon)|Moon]]). Optimus Primal stopped the Buster by using Tarantulas's stasis pod as a kamikaze weapon. Megatron, having planned (via a virus) to hijack the pod for that purpose anyway, decided to take advantage of this and locked the pod door so that Primal could not escape and was destroyed alongside the Planet Buster. {{storylink|Other Voices, Part 2|Other Voices, Part 2}}

The [[quantum surge]] from the exploding planet buster bathed Megatron in quantum energies, upgrading him into a [[Transmetal]]. Megatron quickly rallied his forces and attempted an all-out attack on the leader-less Maximals. Megatron and the Predacons took the upperhand in battle until a Transmetal Optimus Primal (brought back online by [[Rhinox (BW)|Rhinox]]) saved the day. He was annoyed to find the Disks had been stolen from him by Dinobot and that [[Blackarachnia (BW)|Blackarachnia]] had destroyed his back-ups (while lying that Dinobot had done it). {{storylink|Coming of the Fuzors (Part 2)|Coming of the Fuzors (Part 2)}}

With both factions now aware that the planet they were stranded on was really prehistoric [[Earth]], Megatron was free to put his full plan into motion. He continued his operations without the Disks and successfully retrieved them, simultaneously plotting to alter history and to exploit any new Vok incident. However, both the Maximals and Tarantulas ruined his attempt to hijack the Vok [[Metal Hunter]] {{storylink|Other Visits (Part 2)|Other Visits (Part 2)}}, and Dinobot both destroyed the Golden Disk and ruined Megatron's attempt at eradicating the human race's prehistoric ancestors to alter the Great War. {{storylink|Code of Hero|Code of Hero}} With the humans scattered, only a fragment of the Disk remaining and the quantum surge meaning the [[Tripredacus Council]] knew where to send their agents, Megatron could only gamble. {{storylink|The Agenda (Part 1)|The Agenda (Part 1)}}

[[Image:Agenda3 MegatronOptimusPrime.jpg|right|250px|thumb|A little off the top, sir?]]

The gamble paid off; the Tripredacus Council sent former Decepticon [[Ravage (G1)|Ravage]] to capture Megatron, while Blackarachnia fled to the location of the crashed [[Ark (G1)|Ark]], having gained its location and [[Teletraan I (G1)|Teletraan I]]'s access codes from the Disk back-ups. From behind his cell, Megatron manipulated Optimus Primal into a trap while using the Disk's one last fragment (containing part of the original Megatron's message) to get Ravage to switch loyalties to him. {{storylink|The Agenda (Part 2)|The Agenda (Part 2)}} While his army fought the Maximals, Megatron arrived at the Ark just as Blackarachnia had done all the work for him and forced her to give him access. He finally took "the ultimate risk", the mission from the first Megatron that he'd been previously been unwilling to completely follow, and attempted to alter history by assassinating the unconscious [[Optimus Prime (G1)|Optimus Prime]]. By doing so, he intended to ensure the defeat of the [[Autobot|Autobots]] and thus the victory of the [[Decepticon|Decepticons]] and Predacons. {{storylink|The Agenda (Part III)|The Agenda (Part III)}}

The Maximals managed to save Prime's life by having Teletraan I repair his body while Optimus Primal kept his spark within his own structure, transforming his body into a more powerful form. The Maximals defeated Megatron and returned Prime's spark to its proper place. {{storylink|Optimal Situation|Optimal Situation}}

[[Image:Megatrontm2render.jpg|left|250px|thumb|Two Megatrons for the price of one.]]

Megatron did not rest. He went on to [[Transmetal driver|reverse-engineer alien technology]], gained by means unknown, to create the [[Transmetal|Transmetal 2]] process and create himself a loyal clone of Dinobot. {{storylink|Feral Scream Part 1|Feral Scream Part 1}} He also worked towards taking control of Optimus and seizing control of the new Maximal base, allowing him to enter the Ark again. Wanting to replicate the effect Optimus Prime's spark had on Primal, he deliberately took the spark of the original Megatron and placed it in his body. He was transformed into a powerful dragon and able to give Optimus Primal a sound beating, until chased away by the recovered Maximal group. {{storylink|Master Blaster|Master Blaster}}

[[Image:Megs tm2.JPG|right|180px|thumb|Red dragon, without Hannibal Lecter.]]

Even this power was useless when [[Tigerhawk]] arrived and casually destroyed the Predacon base. {{storylink|Other Victories|Other Victories}} Desperate once again, Megatron investigated the now-deceased Tarantulas's base for anything of value—and found the legendary Decepticon battleship, the [[Nemesis (G1)|Nemesis]], rebuilt and with Transwarp capabilities. Bringing it out of the ocean depths, Megatron intended to pilot it back to the future and lay waste to the Maximals on Cybertron. {{storylink|Nemesis Part 1|Nemesis Part 1}}

First, however, he planned to annihilate the entire Ark rather than simply Optimus Prime.

Primal infiltrated the Nemesis and kept Megatron busy until Rhinox could fly a shuttlecraft through the bridge and take the Predacon out. The Nemesis crashed a second time and thus preserved history. After returning the original Megatron's spark to its proper body, the Maximals headed back to Cybertron with the incarcerated Megatron shackled to the outside of their ship. {{storylink|Nemesis Part 2|Nemesis Part 2}}
Taking advantage of the [[Blasty Zone]] as a means of time travel (and apparently size-enhancer), Megatron journeyed to a point in history where the original Megatron had gone missing, leaving the [[Decepticon]]s without a leader. "Beast Megatron" took command of the Decepticons, leading them on a quest to collect a powerful element, [[solitarium]], from within the Earth. Beast Megatron's plans were quickly thwarted by [[Optimus Prime (G1)|Optimus Prime]] and a troop of time-displaced Autobots and Maximals, including [[Star Saber (Victory)|Star Saber]], [[Victory Leo]], [[Lio Convoy]] and Beast Megatron's arch nemesis, [[Optimus Primal]]. {{storylink|Fight! The Group of the Strongest Commanders!}}

Beast Megatron later discovered a large deposit of solitarium beneath [[New York City]], and along with [[Starscream (G1)|Starscream]], [[Smokesniper]], [[Gigant Bomb]] and [[Wingstun]], laid waste to the Big Apple. The Autobots, accompanied by [[Reverse Convoy]], arrived and dealt with Beast Megatron's forces quickly. However, Reverse Convoy revealed himself to be the original Megatron in disguise and betrayed them. Now going by the name [[Megatron (G1)|Rebirth Megatron]], he teamed up with Beast Megatron and the pair made trouble for the Autobot commanders. However, the Autobots were able to defeat the two Megatrons, sending the villains into retreat. {{storylink|The Lio Convoy Typhoon Enters (episode)|The Lio Convoy Typhoon Enters}}
[[Image:IDW Megatron Magmatron.jpg|left|300px|thumb|Go back to anime, Magmatron!]]
In Lio Convoy's opinion, Megatron was a simple wild card, no real threat when compared with [[Magmatron]]. This drives home the fact that Cybertron had no idea of the damage Megatron had and would inflict, or the lengths he would go to becoming arguably the most powerful Transformer since the Great War.

After dispatching [[Rampage (BW)|Rampage]] and [[Inferno (BW)|Inferno]] to oversee the installation of [[Sentinel (BW)|Sentinel]] into the [[Darksyde]], Megatron was attacked by Magmatron, who had been assigned to arrest him by the [[Tripredacus Council]]. Although Megatron proved more than a match for the experienced Predacon general individually, he was ambushed and paralyzed by [[Iguanus (BW)|Iguanus]] and [[Drill Bit (BW)|Drill Bit]]. Magmatron intended to use a [[transwarp shunt]] to transport his prisoner back to [[Cybertron (planet)|Cybertron]]. {{storylink|The Gathering issue 3|The Gathering #3}} Thanks to the intervention of [[Grimlock (G1)|Grimlock]], [[Optimus Minor]], and [[Razorbeast]], Magmatron was sent home empty-handed. Razorbeast was tempted to dispatch the prone Megatron, but released him instead, due to his desire to avoid interfering with the timeline. {{storylink|The Gathering issue 4|The Gathering #4}}
Ravage attempted to free Megatron after his capture, but didn't progress very far in his plans. {{storylink|The Ascending issue 1|The Ascending #1}} Despite this, Megatron arrived to a battle-damaged Cybertron, having finally completed his transwarp journey, and having arrived long before the Maximals responsible for his defeat, thanks to Shokaract's suicide, with little else to stand in his way. :''Voice actor:'' [[David Kaye]] (English), [[Shigeru Chiba]] (Japanese), [[Francisco José]] (Portuguese), [[Jan Spitzer]] (German)

[[Image:Megatron for life.jpg|left|180px|thumb|"If you've done nothing wrong, you've got nothing to fear. If you've something to hide, you shouldn't even be here..."]]
Breaking free from his constraints on the Autobot shuttle while it traveled through transwarp space, Megatron arrived back home on Cybertron well before the Maximals did. {{storylink|Revelations Part II: Descent}} He used the window of opportunity for maximum effect, releasing a [[Transformation virus|virus]] across the planet that quickly incapacitated the population. {{storylink|Forbidden Fruit}} He then began extracting the victims' [[spark]]s and storing them in a citadel, planning to one day absorb them into his own spark. {{storylink|Sparkwar Pt. III: The Siege}} Meanwhile, he used factories to rebuild the bodies into mindless [[drone]]s he called "[[Vehicon (BM)|Vehicons]]." {{storylink|Revelations Part I: Discovery}} Eventually, he had almost every spark on Cybertron in his possession.

Clearly Megatron had changed since the Beast Wars, not only in his goals, but also in his mannerisms. Gone was the ham who sought conquest for the sake of glory and power and the Predacon cause. He spoke not of revenge on the Maximals, but rather of the liberation of all Transformerkind from the chaos of free will. He referred outright to his own ascension to godhood. And he had also developed a sense of honor, keeping his word to his enemies even at the risk of future losses. {{storylink|The Weak Component}} This was quite the change, as right up to the end of the Beast Wars he would flatten a subordinate for even mentioning "the H word." {{storylink|Nemesis Part 2}} In that time, he had also positively ''reveled'' in his dinosaur and dragon beast modes. But on his return to Cybertron, something convinced him that beast modes and other vestiges of the organic were an abomination which should be scoured from the planet, leaving only technological purity. Despite his pontifications, Megatron himself had not achieved the "purity" of which he spoke. His dragon form remained, and at times, it overwhelmed his control. His unfruitful attempts to remove the organic elements from his own body became a source of constant frustration. This was a new and even madder Megatron.

{{note|The time period from when Megatron broke free from the shuttle, to when Optimus Primal and the Maximals arrived on Cybertron, was vastly transformative for both Megatron and the planet, and probably constituted an epic story in its own right. Nevertheless, the period was only vaguely described in the cartoon and barely elaborated upon in secondary media. Many questions remain unanswered.}}
When the Maximals arrived in their shuttle, they found the planet empty aside from Vehicons who immediately attacked them with canisters of a gas that infected them with the virus. The fully-Transmetal among them "devolved" into their original beast modes but were able to keep moving and escape. The remaining two, [[Rhinox (BW)|Rhinox]] and [[Silverbolt (BW)|Silverbolt]] (who never received any form of upgrade on Earth), were instead paralyzed and quickly overtaken. Their sparks soon joined Megatron's collection. {{storylink|Revelations Part II: Descent}}

The escaped Maximals would have succumbed to the virus eventually if not for the [[Oracle]] [[reformatting]] them. This was the beginning of Megatron's undoing, for their new [[technorganic]] bodies were both immune to the virus and (while in beast mode) invisible to Vehicon sensors. Megatron's first resulting change in strategy was to imbue three Vehicons with captured sparks so they could think on their feet in battle. The original personalities of these "[[Vehicon general|generals]]" were deeply buried under shell programs, which allowed Megatron to use sparks of the Maximals' former allies. Thus, if the Maximals discovered who they really were, they would be reluctant to destroy them. The recently-captured Silverbolt and Rhinox were made into [[Jetstorm (BM)|Jetstorm]] and [[Tankor (BM)|Tankor]], respectively. The third general, [[Thrust (BM)|Thrust]], was created from the Predacon [[Waspinator (BW)|Waspinator]] for reasons that remain opaque.

[[Image:Survivor Megatron dragon.jpg|right|180px|thumb|Just don't call him "Patches" or he'll scorch your ass.]]
Megatron considered using the same technology on himself, transferring his own spark to a "pure" Vehicon body. But he decided it was not worth the risk to expose his spark, however briefly. Previously, he had apparently been attempting to use alternative methods of transforming his current body into a purely technological one without leaving it or becoming unconscious—with little success, though his dragon form had taken on a ragged patchwork "cyborg" appearance as a result of these failed attempts.

Rhinox eventually awakened and went rogue, planning a grand scheme to usurp Megatron's dominance, but Megatron effortlessly seized control of his traitor-general's evil plan at the last minute and almost wiped out all resistance with the [[Key to Vector Sigma]]. At the last moment, Optimus unleashed the [[Plasma Energy Chamber]] force {{storylink|End of the Line|End of the Line}} and the combined energies destroyed Megatron's body. He was presumed dead, but the combined energies had actually succeeded in separating his organic half from his body—unfortunately, his spark went with it and was now trapped in a purely organic Transformer. He took the identity of "innocent" Maximal [[Noble]] and, preying on [[Nightscream (BM)|Nightscream's]] survivor guilt and Optimus's inherent goodness, got the Maximals to help transfer his spark to the [[Grand Mal]], a vessel shaped in his own head. {{storylink|Prometheus Unbound}}

With Tankor destroyed and Jetstorm eventually reformatted into Silverbolt, Megatron used the sparks of famous generals [[Obsidian (BM)|Obsidian]] and [[Strika (BM)|Strika]] to replace them. {{storylink|Sparkwar Pt. I: The Strike}} He also managed to gain a link to the [[Vector Sigma|Oracle]] itself, stealing the knowledge from Primal. {{storylink|Sparkwar Pt. II: The Search}} This gave him the ability to move ahead with his grand plan—to consume the captured sparks and eventually consume/replace the [[Allspark]] itself—but Nightscream temporarily stopped him by depolarizing Megatron's own spark. Now severed from a body, it jumped between discarded shells and attacked everyone in a zombie like fashion. Rattrap would use a [[spark extractor]] to repolarize his spark, allowing Megatron to regain his senses, but trapping him in a [[Diagnostic Drone]]. {{storylink|Spark of Darkness}}

[[Image:Megatron Sparkwar Search.JPG|left|180px|thumb|"We've been expecting you, Mr. Anderson."]]
Immediately following this, Megatron launched an all-out battle for the sparks and succeeded in capturing them, as well as the sparks of all the Maximals and obliterating their [[technorganic]] orchard—leaving just Optimus Primal and himself as the only two Transformers on the entire planet. To add insult to injury, he uploaded his spark into a copy of Primal's old Optimal Optimus form. Over the conflict, his personality had gradually become more like that of his Beast Wars self, and by this point he was once again hamming it up—revelling in his victory, mocking his enemies (his stated reason for copying Optimus's old body) and deliberately not killing Optimus outright, and having melodramatic outbursts when in his new body.

[[Image:Optimalmegatronoptimusprimal.jpg|right|150px|thumb|They say imitation is the sincerest form of flattery.]]
At the end of a fierce one-on-one fight, Megatron won and began consuming his amassed sparks, growing ever more powerful and planning to become both the new Matrix and the new core consciousness of Cybertron. However, he'd made his old mistake—leaving Optimus alive (to make him watch his "ascension") instead of killing him. When he attempted to use the [[Key to Vector Sigma]] to transform the planet's [[organic core]] into [[technomatter]], Primal managed to dislodge them both. They plummeted into the planet's goopy core and from there, Primal was able to reformat the entire planet, destroying himself and Megatron completely, but freeing all the lost sparks to repopulate their newly redecorated planet. {{storylink|Endgame Pt. {{note|This fiction takes place during "[[Spark of Darkness]]".}}
When Megatron was defeated by Nightscream, the spark of Rhinox attempted to act as a spirit guide and redeem the tyrant. Megatron proved to be a lost cause. While briefly tempted to move on, his inherent hypocrisy manifested and—despite fervently advocating the eradication of individuality—refused to relinquish his own identity. Rhinox’s attempts at enlightenment were misconstrued, and his efforts only strengthened Megatron’s desire for apotheosis. Repeated returns to Cybertron convinced him that godhood was still within his reach and as he charged his particles with “purity of purpose”, erased Rhinox's spark from existence.
When [[Optimus Primal|Optimus Primal's]] spark is revived from the within the Matrix to protect the multiverse, this action freed Megatron's spark as well. The reborn Megatron returned to the ranks of the Predacons, but this time, Optimus Primal found himself in an uneasy alliance with him against Unicron. Megatron traveled with his old nemesis from universe to universe, wherever the growing multiversal conflict had spread. But now with Unicron disappeared into the [[Unicron Singularity]], it remains to be seen whether Megatron's insane ambition will resurface.

Prior to the Universe Conflict an alternate dimension's Megatron was killed by a [[Razorclaw (Universe)|Tigerhawk]] who was corrupted by the Vok. Yet another dimension's Megatron was killed by its reality's [[Obsidian (BM)|Obsidian]] and [[Tankor (BM)|Tankor]]. All three Megatron-murderers were eventually promoted to the rank of [[Unicron's General]]. It seems that killing Megatron may be part of Unicron's criteria for choosing a General.
Both Megatron and Optimus Primal awoke inside a bizarre temple-like spaceship which was hurtling through space. Neither had any memory of who they were or how they got there, only their own names and a feeling of discomfort between one another. The pair went about investigating the ship in search of answers. While Megatron's memory was lost, his personality remained mostly intact: he was more concerned with seizing control of the ship before Primal did in order to gain the upper hand.

They eventually found a data log and discovered that their sparks had been taken and they were reborn into new bodies (unbeknownst to them, bodies identical to their original Earth forms). However, their memories were intentionally not uploaded into their new bodies. While searching the log they discovered that the ship's main power source was a [[Golden Disk]] lodged within a giant pillar. Megatron immediately raced to obtain the Disk and Primal followed him. The closer they got to the disk the more the ship attempted to thwart their advance by manipulating its atmosphere conditions.

Once they reached the chamber the ship's environment suddenly morphed to that of a decaying planet littered with the corpses of robots. The corpses came to life and began shambling toward them, intent on eating their sparks. They made short work of the zombies, leaving Megatron to obtain the Golden Disk and Primal with a feeling that he shouldn't entirely trust Megatron.

From another dimension beyond time and space, [[Primus]] recognized that something was amiss and sent one of his messengers to meet Primal and Megatron within the spaceship. {{storylink|The Mysterious Temple in Space}}
After killing Optimus Primal in a Transwarp explosion, Megatron was mutated by the resulting Quantum Surge into a Transmetal, as was every other Transformer on [[Earth|Energoa]]. With their leader dead and their forces scattered, Megatron wasted no time in plotting an immediate counter-attack on the Maximals. Quickstrike and his drone forces were sent to attack the Maximal base while, with Tarantulas's help, Megatron recovered and resurrected Primal's body as a mindless killing machine.

Through a strange voodoo ritual, Megatron attempted to use his mutated blood to put Primal's body under his everlasting control. However, with the intervention of Rhinox, Primal's spark was retrieved from Transwarp Space and returned to his body. [[Image:Dinobot Clone.jpg|right|200px|thumb|A picture can tell lots without words.]]
*Hasbro originally intended Inferno to be the new body for Megatron. According to [http://groups.google.com/group/alt.toys.transformers/browse_thread/thread/b334d45514e26ab4/bc8e54e9165e0823?hl=en&amp;lnk=st&amp;q=bob+forward+interview+inferno+megatron&amp;rnum=1#bc8e54e9165e0823 a 1997 interview conducted by fan HooksX], [[Bob Forward]] stated: "For a while there Hasbro was planning to make the Inferno toy the new Megatron. We were going to kill Megatron and bring him back as Inferno."

*Throughout the series, Megatron seems to have a mild obsession with creating [[Clone|clones]] of Dinobot, as seen with the [[Dinobot Clone|purely biological clone]], the [[Cyber raptor|Cyber raptors]] and [[Dinobot II]]. Some people never know when to let a relationship go.

[[Image:BWRConcept35.jpg|right|200px|thumb|TM2 Megatron&#39;s control art. Look! Spark figure! Painful amounts of detail!]]
*The Japanese dub of ''Beast Wars'' chose to interject humor at every available opportunity. Due to this, Megatron's personality and character were taken on a complete U-turn. Instead of being a smooth and charismatic leader, he was a screaming maniac and a bumbling oaf. His most notable character-trait in Japan was that whenever he was fired-upon or startled he would let out a high-pitched shriek like a [[Scorponok (BW)|little girl]].

*Megatron was mentioned in the [[Sector Seven (game)| Sector Seven game]],belonging to a Spider T which may or may not be [[Tarantulas]], Megatron was described as "a purple lizard. Said "Yes!"" a lot and was called a "Silly Tin Tyrant". "Sleeping Dragon" was also said which could be a mention of Megatron's Dragon Mode.

*During the ''[[Beast Wars (cartoon)|Beast Wars]]'' cartoon, Megatron said "yesss..." 166 times, and "no..." 54 times. Someone was clearly bored, yesss.

64.131.11.181: /* Marvel Comic continuity */

{{quote|We are Primus. We are Prima. We are Prime Nova. We are Sentinel Prime. We are Optimus Prime.}}
'''Prime''' is a rank of highest distinction in many [[Transformers]] continuities. Typically, it is used as the identification for the leader of the [[Autobot]]s, something that is bestowed only on those that carry the [[Matrix of Leadership]] within them. It is [[Retcon|retroactively]] derived from [[Primus]], the creator of the Transformers.

With the retcon that Primus is one singular entity that exists (and '''must''' exist) threaded through all Transformer continuities, the term Prime is likewise given one singular origin. It was, first of all, the designation granted by Primus to the [[Thirteen original Transformers]] created, by his own hand, at the dawn of the physical universe to crew his planetary form.

:''Japanese equivalent:'' '''[[Convoy]]'''

==Fiction==
===Marvel Comic continuity===
The idea of Prime being a title/rank has its first, fullest expression here. A direct lineage of Creation Matrix bearers is established, each taking on a derivation of the name of their god Primus. They are [[Prima]], [[Prime Nova]], [[Sentinel Prime (G1)|Sentinel Prime]], [[Optimus Prime (G1)|Optimus Prime]], and [[Hot Rod (G1)|Rodimus Prime]].

{{note|A later [[Simon Furman]] story drawing on this lineage he himself created added [[Primon]] to the beginning of this list. Of note is that the name Prime has no real necessary relation to Autobot leadership here. Optimus Prime becomes a Prime long before he becomes the overall Autobot Commander. Rather, Prime is a religious title (as the Creation Matrix is a religious artifact: a relic of their god). The closest human analogue to a Prime might be the Pope. }}

===Cartoon continuity===
The evidence for "Prime" being a rank here is weaker than elsewhere but the case can still be made. Though many Matrix-Bearers are seen, and all are by definition Autobot Leaders, only four are ever named; 2 Primes, 2 not: [[Alpha Trion (G1)|Alpha Trion]], Optimus Prime, [[Ultra Magnus (G1)|Ultra Magnus]], and Rodimus Prime. Without knowing any other names it is hard to make a concrete case here for "Prime" being a title given only to Matrix-Bearers.

It is of note though that if it were, then "Prime" in this continuity would be a military/political title (since it is the ''Matrix of Leadership''), rather than the religious title of the Marvel Comics.

'''Note:''' ''Not all Convoys are Primes. If you can lead [[Ant-droid]]s to a picnic, you're a Convoy in Japan.

===Beast Wars continuity===
It's only passingly touched on, but may be noteworthy that the phrase, "Who died and made him Prime?" was used by [[Maximal]] characters in ''[[Beast Wars]],'' implying that, to them, "prime" was roughly equivalent to "leader". They also used the word to mean "great" or "good" in the phrases "That's just prime," (said sarcastically), and "Feeling prime."

===Dreamwave continuity===
This continuity also establishes Prime as designating the leader of the Autobots, but there is some muddled information. The Prime carried within him the Matrix of Leadership, but it appears that the Matrix doesn't contain the wisdom of past leaders, as that was held on a [[Golden Disk (council)|separate datatrak]]. Also, the Prime did not appoint his successor. A new Prime was chosen by the [[Council of Ancients]], supposedly through divine authority.

It's unknown what powers the Prime shared with the [[High Council]] and the Council of Ancients, but the Prime had several powers. In addition to being commander-in-chief of the Autobot Army, the Prime also had the authority to order a planet wide evacuation. Autobots gave oaths of loyalty to the Prime, and were expected to risk their lives for the Prime's safety (whether the Prime wanted them to or not). {{storylink|The War Within|The War Within}}

There are five known Primes in Dreamwave continuity, listed in MTMTE #8. These are Alpha Prime, Guardian Prime, Sentinel Prime, Optimus Prime and Rodimus Prime. The list does not specify chronology, and Rodimus Prime never appeared in any actual Dreamwave comics.

===Armada/Energon/Cybertron continuity===
Prime is indeed a title given to leaders and matrix bearers here, as evidenced by both Vector Prime and Optimus Prime, but no other Primes are ever named.

===IDW Comics continuity===
[[Image:Primes IDW.JPG|right|150px|thumb|Get on it, Hasbro!]]
Optimus Prime describes Primes as beings that define the eras they ruled. Thus, Nova Prime presided over an era in which the populace believed the Cybertronian race's destiny was in the stars, and commissioned the first [[Ark (G1)|''Ark'' spacecraft]]. {{storylink|Spotlight: Optimus Prime}} Although certainly a matrix-bearer, as confirmed by Optimus and Galvatron, Nova Prime disappeared into the [[Benzuli Expanse]] while aboard the ''Ark'', with the Matrix guiding him into the [[Dead Universe]]. {{storylink|Spotlight: Galvatron}}

Before the [[Great War (G1)|Great War]], Sentinel Prime served as the head of the Autobot Security Services, the chief law enforcement and military body on Cybertron. However, he stresses that he is ultimately subservient to the will of the [[Senate]] who enact the laws he enforces. {{storylink|Megatron Origin issue 3}}

After Cybertron is rendered uninhabitable, Optimus Prime is the apparent highest ranking Autobot, directing the galaxy-spanning conflict to deny the Decepticons conquest of additional planets. In this task, he occasionally seeks the guidance of the ancient Autobot and weapon of last resort [[Omega Supreme (G1)|Omega Supreme]].

There appear to be at least four Primes predating Optimus Prime. {{storylink|Spotlight: Optimus Prime}}

There seems to be an Autobot who held the rank of "Prime" between Sentinel and Optimus in the IDW continuity. During an early skirmish during the opening days of the Great War, a pre-Prime Optimus and Blurr discuss a plan to rescue the Autobot commander [[Zeta Prime]]. It can be assumed that this "new" Prime was "sworn in" following Sentinel Prime's death in Megatron: Origins (LBJ style), before ultimately dying himself, passing the "Prime" mantle onto Optimus. {{storylink|Spotlight: Blurr}}

===Movie continuity===
The rank was an ancient and forgotten one until Autobot archaeologists uncovered "Prime" was the meaning of the symbol on [[Optimus Prime (Movie)|Optimus]]' head. The Autobots began referring to Optimus as Optimus Prime since they liked the sound of it. {{storylink|Defiance issue 3}}
<!-- The title of Prime was bestowed upon the civilian and spiritual leader of [[Cybertron (planet)|Cybertron]] but at the same time, aided the [[Lord High Protector]] in stewarding the [[All Spark (Movie)|All Spark]] just as the Lord High Protector was co-ruler. Optimus Prime held this title before, during and after the war for the All Spark as leader of the [[Autobots]]. {{storylink|Ghosts of Yesterday}}

According to The Quest For the ALLSPARK paperback's opening paragraph, "...Most revered were Optimus and Megatron. They were twin brothers of the Prime dynasty."
This, along with the note from the Autobots version of the same DS game that Megatron "took the spark" of his and Optimus' father, implies that “Prime” may have been their father’s name and that Megatron may have also had the surname "Prime" as well.-->

===Transformers Animated===
Prime is still a rank in this continuity, but surprisingly one far lower than commander of all the Autobots ([[Ultra Magnus (Animated)|Ultra Magnus]] - the "[[Magnus]]" refers to his rank). This is revealed when [[Sentinel Prime (Animated)|Sentinel Prime]] attempts to give an order to [[Optimus Prime (Animated)|Optimus Prime]]. Optimus is able to disregard this order because regardless of Sentinel's standing on the [[Cybertronian Elite Guard]], they are both still of equal rank, Primes. {{storylink|The Elite Guard}} Both Ultra Magnus and Sentinel Prime have bars on their forearms, with more bars present for the superior officer. Optimus Prime lacks these, and as such it is unknown if they are only present in the Elite Guard.

In addition to Optimus and Sentinel, there is also [[Rodimus Prime (Animated)|Rodimus Prime]] and Longarm Prime. Longarm is head of Cybertron Intelligence. Hilariously, since he's really [[Shockwave (Animated)|someone else]] in disguise.

===Fun Publications fan club comics===
[[Image:Clubcombinercarving.jpg|right|150px|thumb|A component of the Prime of Rarified Energon looks at a portrait of his complete self...]]
It is revealed that the first [[Thirteen original Transformers]] created by Primus to crew his planetary form were all designated Primes. In addition to this designation, each was given a specific task or role in creation.

[[Vector Prime]] was granted guardianship of space-time. The Prime who would become [[The Fallen]] was charged to oversee the force of entropy. [[Nexus Maximus|Another of these Primes]] was made the guardian of [[Rarified Energon]]. Of the known members of The Thirteen only Prima's "function" is yet unknown.

There is some evidence that these Primes are multiversal singularities (like their creator, only one version of each existing across all realities).
{{-}}

===Shattered Glass===
The title of Prime is not an honorary rank but the title of the diabolical leader of the Autobots. [[Optimus Prime (Shattered Glass)|Optimus Prime]] stands as the current Prime. For now. [[Rodimus (Shattered Glass)|Rodimus]] may very well usurp the title and position in the future.
