<div>A servant/Herald of Unicron featured prominently in the Super-Link and Energon series.<br />

Named Alpha-Q in Japan and Alpha Quintesson in the US.<br />

A small alien being exhibiting a child-like logic and sense of youth. The being exists within a green shell that resembles an earth crustaceon. The character has three primary personalities and masks that argue amongst eachother, the highest voice being that of an oyama(Male actor playing female, like in kabuki).<br />
<br />
Alpha-Q was the prince and heir of Planet-Q, a desert world in the Q-system, and home and birthplace of the Terrorcon race. The wandering Destroyer of Worlds, Unicron, attacked his solar system. After devouring each planet, he attacked Planet-Q. The wandering guardian, Rodimus(Convoy), was summoned in distress by Alpha-Q during the Unicron attack. Being too late, the grand Champlain of the planet, Scorponok, chose to explode the planet in an attempt to destroy Unicron in the process. <br />
<br />
It is a fan debate as to whether this event affected Unicron's health. Super-Link states it had no affect, while some versions of Energon have stated that it sent the Dark God into a deep sleep, leading up to the events in Armada, while some interpret this act to lead up to the beginning events of Energon, despite Alpha-Q stating he was lost within Unicron's body alone for eons, and not a decade.<br />

Alpha-Q, at the start of the Energon series, would discover that Unicron's cells can be used to repair and restore destroyed life when fed Energon. Quickly, he began to rebuild his army and steal Energon throughout the universe. <br />
<br />
Alpha-Q began recruiting the various estranged Decepticons that served Megatron in the Unicron Battles, using a sword cast from Megatron's spark as proof of his existence. Eventually, Megatron began diverting the energon from Unicron's body into his own corpse shell, granting him new life. Alpha-Q fled in terror, using Unicron's head as a rocket ship that would later serve as a sun to the reborn Q-system.<br />

It was at this time that Alpha-Q began stalking the human Kicker, desiring the aid of Kicker's Primus-given powers.<br />
<br />
Because of his child-like abandonment before his death, he builds a connection between Kicker, who has ills with his eccentric father, Dr Jones, and also Misha Miramond, who is an orphan since her childhood.<br />
<br />
Alpha-Q is convinced to stop running and fight back by Kicker, shedding his child-like cowardism. In the climax of the battle, Jones sends earth's energon supply to Alpha-Q who immediately diverts from the plan, ignoring Kicker, and restores his solar system. The clashing of the two Energons causes a tear in space that sucks up all things nearby, including Alpha-Q and Unicron. <br />
<br />
On the other side, the Q-system is reborn as an infantile solar system. The Autobots vow to protect the planets from Megatron, who desires to drain them of their Energon and bring Unicron back to full power.<br />
<br />
The head of Unicron, functioning as Alpha-Q's home and the sun of the solar system, eventually falls to Unicron's reborn body, piloted by a crazed Megatron. Alpha-Q is assumed to be killed by the huge surge of heat and energy that occurrs when Unicron grabs the head from within the Energon sun.<br />
<br />
Kicker buries Alpha-Q's body on the surface of Plains Planet, a planet created from Kicker's memories as a gift from Alpha-Q. <br />

Alpha-Q continued to offer narration in the series post-mortem.<br />
<br />
In the defunt Dreamwave Energon comic, Alpha-Q played the role of a traditional Quintesson in the G1 sense, departing greatly from the television series on both shores. <br />

In the Japanese series, the "Q" in the character's name did not denote "Quintesson" but was simply a connection to the system and planet he lived(Q-system, Planet-Q)<br />

In the development of the Energon series, Alpha-Q was scripted to be a female princess who hid herself away in a dead terrorcon shell after Unicron devoured her world. The story would end with Kicker freeing her from inside the shell. This story was rejected by Hasbro and it was quickly edited. Alpha-Q become an ambiguous alien child hiding himself playfully within a suit of armor.
