Blackarachnia was previously known as Elita-1. A thousand stellar cycles ago Elita and her teammates were exploring Archa Seven, looking for a Decepticon ship filled with energon. They accidentally fell into a series of caves. They were ambushed by giant spiders and, when escaping the massive energon explosion caused by the battle, Elita ended up being left behind. When she tried using her ability to borrow powers from other beings, she was injected by the spiders' venom, turning her into the hideous freak she is now. Because of her new, semi-organic nature, her signal did not appear on Optimus's radar, leading him and Sentinel to believe that she had perished in the explosion. Along Came a Spider

When the AllSpark was found by a group of Autobots, Blackarachnia was aboard the Nemesis with the other Decepticons, annoyed at Lugnut's emphatic, vocal loyalty to Megatron. She even suggested that Lugnut's speech of praise was hardwired into his mind. She also had conflict with Blitzwing, who touched a sore point by insulting her organic mode. Her retort to "blow it out your actuator, three-face" angered Blitzwing to the point that he... began to express his feelings in song. Later, at Megatron's orders, she scanned the Autobots' ship to determine the nature of their high-energy cargo. She confirmed the Autobots were carrying the AllSpark, or at least something just as powerful. When the Autobots escaped and it became clear the Nemesis was going to crash into an exploding space bridge, Blackarachnia fled in an escape pod. Transform and Roll Out

Fifty stellar cycles later, while searching space for any trace of the AllSpark in the hope that she could use its power to purge herself of her organic mode, Blackarachnia stumbled across Starscream, still operating out of the battered shell of the Nemesis. Realizing that Starscream was searching for the AllSpark as well, Blackarachnia proposed an alliance, but Starscream proved uninterested in sharing power and promptly booted her out into space. Before being ejected, however, Blackarachnia was able to plant a homing device on Starscream, Dispatches and eventually tracked the beacon to Earth. At first setting down on Earth's moon to investigate the crashed hulk of the Nemesis, Blackarachnia ran afoul of the bounty hunter Lockdown, who had been hired by Blitzwing to hunt down Optimus Prime. Not willing to risk the bounty hunter finding the AllSpark before her, Blackarachnia attempted to dissuade him from investigating Earth, but Lockdown didn't take kindly to her interference, and the pair wound up battling. During the fight, Blackarachnia used her download ability on Lockdown, knocking him out, but she was immediately overwhelmed by the sheer number of powers and modifications she wound up taking from him, and passed out herself. Blackarachnia was first to awake, however, and hid herself aboard Lockdown's ship, so that when the bounty hunter finally came to and headed for Earth, she was able to hitch a free ride to the planet. A Few Loose Strands At some unknown point in the future, Blackarachnia was interviewed by the trans-dimensional magazine Venus and recounted this adventure for the publication's readers. Transformers Animated: The AllSpark Almanac

After arriving on Earth, Blackarachnia stalked Bumblebee, Bulkhead, and Sari on Halloween night. Once she took out the boys, she attempted to sweet-talk Sari into handing over her Key, but Optimus Prime arrived to intervene. Using Bulkhead and Bumblebee's stolen powers to overcome Optimus, Blackarachnia captured Sari and web-swung her way to the top of a skyscraper, with Prime in hot pursuit. In the ensuing fight, Prime finally realized who Blackarachnia truly was. Exploiting the opening, Blackarachnia bound Prime in her web and seized Sari's key, activating its power in hopes of become fully mechanical. However, the energies unleashed caused any organic life in range, including Sari (and presumably any other fleshy), to shrivel and sicken. It almost killed Blackarachnia, but Optimus Prime pulled the Key out, restoring the organics. Prime tried to reason with "Elita", asking her to come with them in the hopes of curing her, but Blackarachnia stabbed him, saying that it would be a long time before she trusted him again. After she knocked out Prime, she cried her four eyes out. Along Came a Spider

Later, she again kidnapped Sari, who was running away after having the AllSpark Key taken away from her. When she heard about the Key and how Sari felt totally mistrusted by the Autobots, Blackarachnia played on the girl's sympathies by saying she knew how Sari felt. Blackarachnia noted how she was not a Decepticon until after the Autobots turned their backs on her, and how the AllSpark's power was the only thing that could cure her current form. Despite being kidnapped again and nearly being killed by Blackarachnia's previous use of the Key, Sari appeared to start seeing eye to eye with her captor. Megatron Rising - Part 1

At least, that was what she wanted Blackarachnia to believe. Leading her around in circles over the frozen Lake Erie, Sari was finally forced to admit that the Autobots' ship, which contained the AllSpark, was underwater. Blackarachnia's organic half couldn't survive the icy water; incensed, she prepared to kill Sari. Ratchet brought the ship up through the ice, and Sari bit Blackarachnia's hand, showing that her organic half couldn't withstand teeth, causing her to drop Sari and allow Ratchet to grab her and get in the ship. As Blackarachnia tried to force the door open, the vessel accelerated, and Blackarachnia was thrown off the ship. Megatron Rising - Part 2

Washing ashore on Dinobot Island, Blackarachnia was taken in by the Dinobots, who gave her Meltdown's former base as a home. Using her charms, Blackarachnia was able to manipulate the Dinobots into doing anything she wanted. Grimlock was particularly attached to her, and reminded the other Dinobots of this through violence. Going over Meltdown's notes, she realized that he would be able to remove the organic half from her body. She sent the Dinobots to release him from prison, causing the Autobots to come investigating. Blackarachnia then poisoned Bumblebee and Prowl with her venom, and used the "promise" of an anti-venom to blackmail Optimus into helping Grimlock find the genetic modifier Meltdown needed for the experiment. Unfortunately, Meltdown turned the tables on them when the modifier was his, planning on removing Blackarachnia's technological half and leaving him with an organic transformer. Optimus was able to stop Meltdown before he succeeded, but the modifier was damaged and Meltdown presumed killed. Needing to escape, Blackarachnia urged Optimus to hold her, causing Grimlock to attack in jealousy, and Blackarachnia fled. However, it appears that Blackarachnia left the anti-venom needed to save Bumblebee and Prowl beside them. This gave Optimus hope that beneath all of Blackarachnia's anger and manipulation, there was still something left of Elita-1 in there. Black Friday (episode)

Still taking refuge in Meltdown's abandoned laboratory, Blackarachnia began experimenting with transwarp energy to create new techno-organic beings to experiment on in an attempt to purge her organic elements, the idea being if she could turn another techno-organic purely robotic, she could do the same to herself. Most of her early attempts proved fruitless, until Swoop was able to capture the perfect test subject: the renegade Autobot Wasp. Tempting him with both her feminine wiles and promises of power great enough to achieve revenge on the bots who betrayed him, she coaxed him into being experimented on, fittingly merging him with the DNA of a wasp.

While Wasp was being turned techno-organic, her old friend Sentinel Prime stumbled upon the lab and was disgusted to find a robot with an organic mode. He was even more shocked when she revealed that they had a past: she was his old friend Elita-1. Disgusted by her mutation, Sentinel was willing to "put her out of her misery", and during a scuffle knocked Blackarachnia's helmet off, allowing him to see her true, partially organic face. After Wasp's transformation into Waspinator was complete, Blackarachnia revealed her plans to Sentinel and Optimus.

Unfortunately, Waspinator was within earshot when she revealed what little regard she had for his life. Hurt by this betrayal, the now physically unstable Waspinator issued Blackarachnia an ultimatum: either fix him or be destroyed. She tried to escape, but once it was revealed that the transwarp energies responsible for his creation were going critical and about to cause a huge explosion, Blackarachnia surrounded herself and Waspinator in her webbing, shielding the Autobots from the explosion and seemingly leading to her final demise.

However, when she awoke, she was in a strange jungle, in front of a group of organic creatures that looked rather surprised to see their new guests. Predacons Rising
Titan Magazines
Realising that the Autobots also win due to the power of teamwork, Blackarachnia decided to isolate one of them from the rest of the team. She stuck a tracer on Bumblebee so she could listen in on the crew and find out the best opportunity, while she roped Blitzwing and Lugnut into helping her. By the next day, when Bumblebee and Prowl were having a race at Crazy Coyote Canyon, the Decepticons had set up a trap and were able to capture Prowl. To Blackarachnia's annoyance though, Bumblebee turned up and somehow her comrades failed to pursue him even with the tracer.

She commanded Lugnut to fire on the Autobots as they sped across the cave roof, realising too late this would cause a cave-in. To add insult to injury, she found the tracer couldn't track Bumblebee any more because it was stuck on Lugnut's butt... Transformers Comic issue 25
Notes
* A non-final character model for Blackarachnia was included in the initial Transformers Animated press kit from Cartoon Network, was used briefly (in silhouette) for her first appearance in "Transform and Roll Out", and appears on the Deluxe figure's packaging. Though the toy shares the non-final model's spider-leg placement in robot mode, black belly, dark purple skin, and yellow Decepticon symbol, the rest of the toy adheres much more closely to the finished model.
*The initial Transformers Animated press kit from Cartoon Network also said that Blackarachnia's techno-organic state was caused by "an encounter with the ALLSPARK" in the past. Given her actual in-show origin, either this was an early idea for the character, or the press release writer was misinformed.
* As Blackarachnia, what seemed to be her new head is actually a helmet that was lying around in the wrecked Decepticon warship where she had her accident. After seeing her without it in "Predacons Rising", you can see why she wore it.
* So far, Blackarachnia's the only major Transformers character not to have a detailed on-screen transformation.
* Blackarachnia can swing off of tall, unseen buildings, with webbing that shoots out of her hands. Wow, we've never seen that befo—wait a minute...
* As Elita-1, her head seems to be based on the pony-tailed Ariel, the younger form of Elita One, while her body's ornamentation homages Elita One herself.
* According to Derrick J. Wyatt, Elita-1's alternate mode is a "Cybertronian car".
* Apparently, Blackarachnia was quite the scientist even before she was introduced to Prometheus Black's genetics experiments. According to the Almanac, Blackarachnia introduced the concept of Triple-Changing to the Decepticon ranks, when she rebuilt Blitzwing after the Great War.
* Blackarachnia has a faceplate, which is only ever seen in The Arrival issues 1 and 4 but never in the show itself.
*Blackarachnica is the only member of the "main cast" Decepticons who was never blown up into pieces during the show's run, most likely due to her partially organic nature, or her gender.

In another life, she was Elita-1, an energetic, spunky Autobot Academy cadet. That was until a fateful trip to Archa Seven, where her teammates abandoned her to a horde of alien spiders. Now calling herself Blackarachnia, she hates her new body with a passion. Her loathing of her organic parts is slowly driving her insane, and she will do anything to get rid of them, no matter whom she has to crush in her path. Her mutation fueled a newfound hatred of the Autobot cause and a quest for revenge that led her to join Megatron in his war against them. However, she does not appear overly loyal to her leader.

In her mutant technorganic form, she makes use of her newfound 'cyber venom' to paralyze her enemies, and combines this with her natural ability to download and mimic other Transformers' traits and weaponry for a limited amount of time with a simple touch.

[[Image:PredaconsRising-Did spiderlady always have four eyes?

I warned you...

Stockade believed Cybertron was the greatest world in existence, and he and a handful of other Decepticons refused to abandon their homeworld. He loathed Megatron for his mad scheme to capture the All Spark, which had left Cybertron dead.

To remain online despite the lack of an All Spark or any other energy source, they drank Nucleon. Stockade became not only immensely strong (and addicted), he went all messiah, deciding to rebirth Cybertron. He and his "new Decepticons" pooled together the energy of their sparks and sent it into space as a sub-space carrier wave message, believing that any intelligence that detected it would be a relation of the All Spark and would arrive to re-energise Cybertron. Transformers Comic issue 17 Transformers Comic issue 18 He also explored the planet a great deal while preparing for this, discovering that its insides were a lot like those of a Transformer's—even including components that resembled gyro-joints. Transformers Comic issue 20

When a team of Autobots arrived, he calmly stated he wished to keep them functional and so challenged Ironhide (their leader) to hand-to-hand combat, deciding which team had won via leadership conflict rather than start a shooting match. He shrugged off Ironhide's hit and punched him out, and then started screaming in rapture at the sight of an energy-based spatial anomaly Transformers Comic issue 17 This, he informed Bumblebee, was the entity they'd invited to Cybertron—and now that the Autobots had seen it, they could not be allowed to leave.

The Autobots weren't quite sold on the idea of letting an unknown alien force invade their homeworld's core, so the team caused a distraction while Bumblebee turned off the Nucleon surge that was a key part of Stockade's plan. Stockade ended the distraction by bashing Ironhide into the ground (it never gets old) and was pleased to find the entity was still entering Cybertron without the Nucleon. He was visibly less pleased when the entity announced itself as Unicron, the Anti-Life Transformers Comic issue 18, and utterly freaked when the planet itelf began attacking them as it was reshaped, with him having to save Overcast at one point. He was left distraught at the idea he'd made the situation worse, and immediately ended all hostilities with the Autobots as he decided they needed to communicate with Unicron and convince the hostile scary Anti-Life creature to work with them for the betterment of Cybertron.

Shockingly, Unicron wasn't interested and Stockade got zapped. Transformers Comic issue 19 Stockade futilely sent his troops in to shoot at Unicron instead and was upset to see Divebomb buy it. However, at that point Optimus Prime turned up and convinced Stockade to help him stop the monster. Contributing the Decepticons to this effort, Stockade led the Autobots into the planet's depths and kicked off shooting around the innards to distract Unicron.

After the battle, he gave over the Nucleon to save Earth, not wanting two worlds to die because of him. Optimus offered him a place on Earth, but he said he was not yet ready to leave Cybertron; the offer remained open-ended. Transformers Comic issue 20

When the Autobots were facing being evicted from Earth by a Decepticon-controlled US President, Optimus entered into a deal with Stockade—a deal Optimus fully expected him to renege on. While the Autobots faked their deaths, Stockade and his Decepticons went to Earth to stand against Starscream's conquest of the United States. Determined to prevent the Transformers' war from destroying this world like it had Cybertron, Stockade gave Hardtop a chance to stand down... and, when it wasn't taken, shrugged off pointblank shots and led his troops in taking control of Hardtop's drones. Once that was done, he threatened to crush the guy's head with his bare hands, and so Hardtop very quickly defected.

Stockade took control of a third of Earth's drones, causing a Decepticon Civil War that undid Starscream's advance. Transformers Comic issue 24 It wasn't long before the New Decepticons were marching into the Decepticon Heartland itself, with Stockade openly tempted to hold onto Earth after it was liberated. However, he'd done a little too well as Megatron had been raised from the dead to oppose him!

While the very sight of Megatron might have made him surrender before, the Nucleon-powered Stockade took the tyrant on one-on-one, raining down punch after punch while screaming defiance and sermons... only for Megatron to grab his punch and use the momentum to flip him, berating him for a lack of clear ambition. How the fight would've gone after is unknown, because the Autobots stepped in with their part of the plan—'tags' that would teleport Decepticons to Cybertron. To Stockade's horror, Strongarm tagged him, the Autobots having decided to get rid of him before he could break the deal himself.

He's now trapped on a dead Cybertron again, with no way out and no Nucleon left... Transformers Comic issue 25

: On some early samples, the windshield halves in front of both hands pop off easily. This is due partly to the unusually soft plastic, which does not grip at the joints very well.
:Arcee is an Autobot from the live-action film continuity family.

Though small compared to many of her peers and adversaries, Arcee compensates with speed and aggressive maneuvers, making her one of the most dangerous Autobots around. Moreover, Arcee is a born hunter. She honed her speed hunting turbofoxes with other speedsters, challenging herself to get as close as possible before tagging them with her bow. She's a crack shot with said crossbow weapon, and Ironhide has trained her to use her speed to her advantage in battle, striking suddenly and swiftly and then vanishing away again as fast as she appeared.

The events at Tyger Pax created a nagging doubt in Arcee about her abilities. She carries some guilt about Bumblebee's injuries, and part of what drives her is the desire to prove herself, not only in the optics of her friends and comrades, but most importantly in her own. She also carries a standing feud with Lockdown for unknown reasons.
Fiction
IDW Transformers movie comics
Many, many years in the past, Arcee was a member of Optimus's science division, in charge of excavation site LT34 near the temple of Simfur. While Optimus was showing Protector Megatron around, her team discovered a mysterious relic with a strange symbol etched into it. She led her superiors to the ancient relic and watched as Megatron and Optimus began to argue when the former demanded the relic be relocated to his private quarters, Optimus relenting due to a sudden alien attack. Arcee assisted with its evacuation from the dig site. Defiance issue 1

After the attack, Arcee tried to save the life of one of the aliens, but was unsuccessful. She and Clocker moved the bodies to Ratchet's lab, where they discovered that the beings were similar in structure to the Cybertronians, only lacking the ability to transform. Before they could speculate further about the common ancestry of the two races, Signal Flare arrived with orders from Optimus to assemble at the Simfur excavation site for a meeting. There, Arcee and the other scientists learned of Protector Megatron's demand for war and Optimus' thoughts on the issue. After most of the scientists agreed to follow Optimus, they travelled to Trypticon to watch Megatron deliver his saber-rattling war rally. Defiance issue 2

Ratchet, Arcee and Elita-One returned to the lab to analyze the other relic fragments recovered from the Simfur excavation, while Optimus, Jazz and Prowl broke into Megatron's quarters to examine the intact relic. Before Optimus could explain to Ratchet the strange condition of the artifact, Arcee reported a finding—a symbol that appeared in the same place on all the different fragments: the same symbol that was on Optimus' head. Ratchet theorised that the legend of the Dynasty of Primes was true, and that Optimus was somehow connected to all of this. Later, at the dig site near Burthov, Arcee, Ratchet and Optimus were arrested by Prowl's security forces on orders from Megatron for treason. What they didn't know was they were all being led into a trap, and the assassins Megatron sent would only take Optimus alive. After Brawl's initial attack, Optimus ordered the group to escape to Burthov while he took care of Starscream and his soldiers. Defiance issue 3

Arcee was part of the team who captured the disenchanted soldier Ironhide and brought him before Optimus Prime. Ironhide pledged allegiance to Prime and brought news of the Nemesis, a massive starship that Megatron was building. While observing its construction and taking images of the ship, Arcee remarked that she had never seen its like before. During the subsequent civil war, Arcee defended civilians who were being targeted by Megatron's Decepticons for refusing to join in the war against Optimus Prime's Autobots. She was under the command of Bumblebee and desperately fought against Megatron's vast army at Tyger Pax. Defiance issue 4

However, Arcee and the rest of those under Bumblebee's command didn't know the true purpose of their battle, for they were a diversion to keep Megatron busy while other Autobots readied the AllSpark for launch from Cybertron. She was captured and interrogated by the Decepticons but survived the ordeal. She recounted to their Autobot rescuers Bumblebee's heroics in delaying Megatron, preventing Megatron from intercepting the wormhole-bound AllSpark. Movie Prequel issue 1

Many years later, following the death of Megatron and the destruction of the AllSpark on Earth, Arcee was in command of an Autobot assault team on Mars and led Cliffjumper and others in an attack on Starscream's ship. The Reign of Starscream Issue Number Two

While her team made short work of the Swindle, Dreadwing, and Payload drones the Decepticons sent against them, Arcee killed the Decepticon sniper Hardtop before he could snipe Smokescreen. Her teammates were unprepared for the arrival of Thundercracker, however, and he quickly slew Camshaft and wounded Cliffjumper. Remembering her failure at Tyger Pax, Arcee leapt into action, and soon she and Cliffjumper had Thundercracker at their mercy. The arrival of Starscream changed that, as he killed Smokescreen and Air Raid and badly damaged Cliffjumper. As she attempted to pull the last surviving member of her team to safety, Arcee was kicked aside by Starscream. The Reign of Starscream issue 3

However, Arcee recovered an instant later. The Decepticon starship was already taking off, but she jumped and grabbed onto a piece of landing gear, holding on tight...through the space bridge. Wow. Later, she made her way back to an Autobot facility, where she unexpectedly met Clocker and Crosshairs. Along with a large force of Autobots, the three moved in on the Simfur temple, where Starscream was using captured Autobots for a strange project of his. The Reign of Starscream issue 4

She split her troops into two forces: One would attack the city of Trypticon as a diversion, while the other moved in on Simfur. Arcee and her team could only watch helplessly as Starscream drained the life out of the Autobot prisoners strapped onto the replica AllSpark, despite her friend Elita-One's pleas for mercy. An opportunity to cause havoc presented itself when Dreadwing's forces attempted a coup. Arcee lined up her sights on the generator holding the life energy of the deceased prisoners, dedicated the shot to Elita, and destroyed it, annihilating the Cube and sending the Decepticons into disarray. Arcee's team fought their way through the disorganised Decepticons, linked up with Wingblade's team, and rolled out just as the crippled starship came crashing down on the city. With the destruction of the capitol and the defeat of a significant portion of the Decepticon drone army, Arcee considered this to be the turning point of the war, but as long as Starscream was alive, he was a threat that she had to track down. The Reign of Starscream issue 5

Sometime later, a reconfigured Arcee arrived on Earth with a small group of other Autobots to answer Optimus Prime's rallying call, but their joy was cut short with news of more Decepticon sightings on their new home. They caught up and reconnected through their training at NEST's facility, as that was all the time they had. The new recruits were soon called upon to put their training into use: the Decepticon Demolishor had been sighted in Shanghai, China. Alliance issue 4

Now she fights in the Charii system against a Decepticon splinter cell working on a star-breaking weapon. If she has her way, the only things breaking will be their heads.

Originally, Arcee didn't serve either faction, working alone to solve injustices in her own way. Megatron personally decided to make an example of her, and only an Autobot extraction team led by Kup saved her life. This debt saw her join the Autobots. She's chimerical in nature and is constantly changing her alt-mode in an effort to go as fast as possible (maybe that's why her robot mode always looks different!).
And, of course, they didn't lose. However, Arcee was left bewildered by the idea that Humanity would not trust and love the Autobots, and Optimus explained to her that, from a human point of view, all the Transformers are alien horrors fighting on their planet. Following this, she guarded the Savannah, Georgia shelter and was caught in Starscream's ambush. Transformers Comic issue 14 Transformers Comic issue 15
Arcee had been on Earth for some time before Skids and Mudflap arrived. When using all three of her bodies, she refers to her collective self as "we". Back then, she was keeping her pink paint job!

She went on to assist Optimus Prime in a NEST mission in Australia, and so was in a perfect position to capture the Decepticon Sideways. Pursuing him in bike(s) mode, she found it near impossible to blow out his tyres and kept getting sideswiped by him during the pursuit. When a stunned Optimus ordered her to stay on the Decepticon's tail, she responded that the Decepticon's alt mode was far better suited for the terrain... inspiring Optimus to blow up that terrain.

With Sideways stunned and taking robot form, Arcee sent one bike in to take him down but almost got hit before human military helicopters arrived to back her up. The mission over, she and Optimus took their prisoner back to Diego Garcia, with Arcee escorting him to a cell. But surprise, Scorponok was waiting to free him! She was quickly stunned and unable to stop the Decepticons escaping. Transformers Comic issue 2.5

Arcee answered the call from Optimus Prime to join his Autobots on Earth. Her consciousness was split between three motorcycles, all which could transform into individual robots, yet all three together were considered simply "Arcee." Her components also have the ability to recombine into a single robot mode. Under Optimus Prime's command, she was part of the Autobot/human military alliance known as NEST, whose job was to hunt the remaindered Decepticons hiding across the globe.

Arcee and the rest of NEST were able to trace two Decepticons hidden in Shanghai, China. When one of them, Sideways, revealed himself, the three components of Arcee were released from a NEST truck trailer. Though Arcee was able to surround Sideways with herself and cover him in firepower, the Decepticon was able to elude her by jumping through a building. Unfortunately for Sideways, Arcee was also accompanied by Sideswipe, who quickly put the Decepticon down.

While not on missions, Arcee was parked with the other Autobots in their hanger at Diego Garcia. It was here that the Autobots received word from the President of the United States, via Director Galloway, that the White House was concerned that the Autobots' living on Earth was the reason for the Decepticon activity, and that if need be, they would ask the Autobots to leave. Later, after Optimus Prime died in battle and The Fallen issued an ultimatum to Earth, the US government decided that the Autobots would be shipped back to Diego Garcia.

NEST had a different idea, and instead shipped Arcee and the other Autobots to Egypt on the advice of Sam Witwicky, who had the means to resurrect Optimus Prime. During the climactic battle between NEST and The Fallen's Decepticons, Sam and Mikaela attempted to make their way through the bombed-out Egyptian town that had become the battlefield. Arcee arrived with Ironhide to escort them through the warzone, but unfortunately, her purple and pink components were disabled by a Decepticon, and only the blue component remained operational when she was last seen. Revenge of the Fallen (film)
**Accessories: Launcher, missile, scope, 2 tailpipes, "energon" star

: Arcee is a redeco of Energon Arcee, replacing her pinks and most of her whites and blacks with blue, and her translucent red with smoky brown plastic. She transforms into a "superbike"-type racing motorcycle. Unusually for a Transformer, she does not hold her weapon in her hands as most figures do. Instead, her Energon Bow mounts on a peg on either arm, with her hands being positioned to give the appearance of her using the bow. The bow itself is spring-loaded, firing a grey "arrow" missile.

:Arcee (and the rest of the Scout wave) were exclusive to Target stores, where they were all part of a Robo-Vision promotion. Arcee came with a Robo-Vision Decoder which allows you to see the Robo-Vision Code ("BULLSEYE") printed on her cardback. Starting June 2, 2007, Target's website allowed users to input those codes to access exclusive content, a concept similar to the online Cyber Planet Key info from the Cybertron toyline.
**Accessories: Launcher, missile

: Deluxe Arcee transforms into a purple 2006 Buell Firebolt XB12R motorcycle, genericised to get around licensing issues. Arcee has references tampographed on her vehicle mode, such as her motorcycle's model name, "RC 1100", and her Massachusetts license plate marked TF7407, the original release date of the movie.

: Arcee's Automorphing feature is located in her crossbow weapon (formed out of the seat/storage area of the bike), activated when the projectile (the bike's tailpipe) is inserted, which pushes out the recurved lath parts on the sides of the weapon. The rectangular peg which is supposed to be used to attach her weapon to her forearm in robot mode is sometimes a poor fit, and the weapon may pop off. As an alternative, the round peg by which the weapon is attached in vehicle mode can also be used in robot mode, with a little rearranging of parts.

: Undocumented in the instructions, the two shoulder-mounted half-wheels contain a small niche on the edge of the tires. By folding the wheels down with the hubcaps pointing towards the chest and turning the tires towards the shoulders, one can feel the wheels gently click into place via the tire niches and hidden tabs in the shoulders, allowing the wheels to remain in place and more closely resemble the figure as pictured on its packaging.

: As with most larger Transformers toys that become motorcycles, Arcee has a kickstand on the left side of the bike; unfortunately, it's mounted so low that she will fall in the opposite direction if it is fully extended.

**Accessories: Missile, display stand

:Chromia converts from a Suzuki B-King to... a unicycle. Her vehicle mode weapon can attach as a display stand for either mode, ironically making a unicyclebot one of the most stable robot-modes. In robot mode, there is a spring-loaded missile between the tailpipes on Chromia's left hand in addition to the aforementioned non-firing blaster-stand. There is also a piece on the bottom of the vehicle mode (or back of the robot mode) that folds out, but there is no indication in the instructions as to what this piece is for. However, the piece can slide into a similar piece in the later Arcee toy, starting the supposed combined mode.

:While the instructions depict the motorcycle seat remaining flat so that it ends up covering the bottom wheel, the robot mode more closely resembles the movie design if the seat is folded in and locked into a slot on the motorcycle's bottom, as shown on the back of the packaging. The packaging photo also shows Chromia's front wheel resting behind the robot's shoulders, while the instructions leave it above her head. Furthermore, while it is not mentioned either in the instructions or shown on the box, the stand can be attached backwards and rotated with the guns facing up so that it acts as a prop for the toy, allowing the wheel to actually touch the ground, and letting the toy look from the front like it is unsupported. In addition, the stand can also be attached to right arm as an inordinately large handgun by sliding the two pegs inside the gun into two slots on the inside of the arm.

:Though the instructions do not explain it, the back of the blister card mentions she has a Mech Alive gimmick in her left arm. While it isn't quite the "spinning gears" the card refers to, swinging her left forearm towards and away from her body makes a blue piston slide back and forth inside the large gun.
The figure has a side-car which can become a Dual Sniper Pistol or a display stand. In robot mode, she is equipped with a small cannon on her right wrist that can deploy a spring-loaded energy blade. Small Cyberglyphics inscriptions are molded onto the surface of the blade.

Trivia
* As part of 2007's Hasbro tour, fans viewed "Robot Scale Chart v03", dated 11.22.05, which showed Arcee's height as 9' (2.7m). However, all of the designs on this chart were very early and later heavily revised (though Jazz was revised far less than the others).

* Arcee was originally going to be a member of the live-action movie's Autobot cast, but was later replaced by Ironhide. According to screenwriter Roberto Orci, they would have needed to explain the point behind female robots, which there wasn't any time for in the movie. Oddly enough, there was no attempt to do so in ROTF.

* In another interview, Alex Kurtzman cited "scale issues" as an additional reason for dropping Arcee; allegedly, Michael Bay simply considered her too small as compared to the rest of the Autobots.

* It's commonly assumed that Arcee's big part in the movie would have been the scene in which William Lennox starts his solo assault on Blackout using an abandoned motorcycle. However, the screenwriters rejected that notion, stating that this scene wasn't written until after Arcee had already been dropped from the script—but if she had remained in the movie, that scene would have probably featured her as the motorcycle.

* Arcee came this close to being killed off in The Reign of Starscream, as the trade states that two revisions of the plot had her dying.

* Arcee's transition from being on Cybertron, in her original (single) body, at the end of The Reign of Starscream #5, to being on Earth, now (possibly) inhabiting three robot bodies, in Alliance #4 has not been explained thus far. One of the possible reasons for this is that the identities of all the new Autobots who appear briefly at the end of Alliance #4 is kept from the reader (possibly at the request of Hasbro and/or Paramount to keep the identities of the new robots a "surprise"), and even though Arcee (or the Arcees) can be briefly glimpsed in robot mode, she's not identified by name.

* Within the Revenge of the Fallen movie itself (and discussed in more detail in the novelization of the film), Arcee is revealed to be a "tripartite Cybertronian," meaning she is not one, but three motorcycles, who are controlled by a singular intelligence, in the vein of Reflector in the Generation 1 cartoon. The Revenge of the Fallen toyline, however, has identified Arcee as only one of the bikes (the pink/red one), and characterized the other two as individuals, Chromia and Elita-1
**In a similar vein, it was originally intended that the three individual "Arcees" would combine into a singular, larger robot in the film, but this did not come to pass. The toys do possess the ability, however, and the combined form did appear in the film's novelization, and in (apparently) two panels of the comic adaptation.
**How to reconcile this new version of Arcee with the version seen in media associated with the first movie? The bio for Revenge of the Fallens Knock Out holds the answer! This motorbike Autobot wants to undergo the new "combiner retrofit" he's been hearing about, strongly implying that Arcee underwent the same process, giving her the new powers she has in Revenge of the Fallen. Whether or not the process involves getting combined with other, distinct Autobots (as the toyline would suggest, what with Chromia being an individual) or if it involves the Transformer's body being converted so that it splits into combining components (as the movie itself would suggest) is unknown.
***On that note, in the film itself she refers to her components in plural form. Before chasing Sideways, the Arcees are seen in vehicle form with their holographic drivers activating, with a communications officer asking if they are ready. To which, she replies; We're locked and loaded'. This seems to suggest that her components are individuals like in the toyline rather than just extensions of herself. Additionally, writer Roberto Orci said that Arcee was written as three bikes that formed one being, but Michael Bay kept them as individuals. This was further corroborated by the Revenge of the Fallen ILM effects supervisor Scott Farrar during a question-and-answer session at the Siggraph 2009 computer animation festival, wherein Farrar stated that Bay dropped the combination as there was already so much going on at that point in the film that it would have only added to the confusion. However, designer Steve Jung did make a model for the combined robot.
* For some reason, Arcee's Revenge of the Fallen body is flipped horizontally between the toy and her actual appearance in the film, with her gun and motorcycle-mode fairing appearing on opposite sides in each representation.
