I am not sure why so much of this page seems to be discussing the planets, not the keys. The title of the page seems a misnomer. --ItsWalky 01:40, 18 December 2006 (UTC)
Discussing the traits and differences of the planets is there to define what makes the keys unique from one another. The Keys essentially are the worlds they inhabit.<div id="wikia-credits"><br /><br /><small>From Teletraan I: The Transformers Wiki, a Wikia wiki.</small></div>

:Cyber Planet Keys are cosmic technology found in the Cybertron portion of the Unicron Trilogy continuity family.

Eons ago, four Cyber Planet Keys were scattered across the universe on various planets. Each Key is a portion of Primus' lifeforce, and if gathered together and plugged into the Omega Lock, they can be used to awaken and restore him.

Fiction
Cyber Planet Keys are the physical objects containing elements of Primus' spark. They were spread to various worlds for evolutionary reasons. While each Transformer has the ability to summon a Cyber Key, they are not to be confused with Cyber Planet Keys. Cyber Keys are mearly bursts of energy summoned from the Cyber Planet Key, which acts as a host for the energies that are summoned during a "Cyber Key Power!" moment. Cyber Keys, when appearing as bursts of energy, tend to resemble the physical image of the Cyber Planet Key from which the power is summoned.

Animated continuity
Cybertron
The four Cyber Planet keys were gifts from Primus to his creations. Created during the first age after the first defeat of Unicron, the goal of the keys was to spread Primus' essense to other fledgling planets and reformat them in a way that would create new Transformer life forms. The purpose of this was to possibly equip and protect the expanding universe from the threat of Unicron.

During the transportation of the keys to the four discovered planets(Earth, Gigantion, Velocitron, and Beast Planet), it was decided that a space bridge would need to be constructed to connect these worlds as one. During this operation, the prototype space bridge technology failed. The planets were cut off, leaving the various colonies stranded on their new homeworlds.

As time progressed, the keys influenced the evolution of the various planets, breeding different types of Transformer-based lifeforms. So much time has passed, the Transformers on these various planets have no knowledge of Cybertron, outside of legends told.

Earth: Organic life, such as human ancestors, had already begun their evolution. The Transformer life on Earth was basically identical to that of Cybertron, and took a second-seat to the organic life already there. The Transformers made it their goal to protect this life from destruction. Decepticons existed on earth, spawned from the colonies who first arrived there and terrorized humanity. They were contained by Crosswise and Evac. The Earth Cyber Planet Key is blue and contains the image of a sun peaking from behind the shape of the earth. The Earth colony were the flagship team, also being trusted with the Omega Lock, which was hidden on Earth.

The Jungle Planet: Also known as "Beast Planet". Not to be confused with the Jungle Planet from the Q-System in the Energon series. This world closely resembled prehistoric Earth, occupied by giant beastly lifeforms. The Transformers on this planet evolved into animal-like form, some similar to those of Earth myth and real earth Biology. They Key on this planet was in the form of a statue resembling a dragon. The leader of this planet is the three-headed dragon, Scourge. The Jungle Cyber Planet Key is green with a clawed paw-print.

Velocitron: The Speed Planet. A vast windy desert covered in thousands of winding roads, all managed by a self-repair drone system. The Transformers on this planet evolved to believe that speed means might. The champion of this planet is Override, a female racer. The key on this planet was hidden in the form of a trophy. The Speed Planet Cyber Key is red and contains a symbol resembling a speedometer pointer.

Gigantion: The Giant Planet. A planet inhabited by Giant Transformers and mini-cons. The appearance of the mini-cons on this planet is questionable and has many theories, but because they existed here in ancient times and built the inner-most parts of the planet, they were most likely brought there as partners to the colonizing Transformers. Gigalonia was attacked by an entity of Unicron called Planet X, who was seeking their fuel. The war waged for close to a thousand years, as the inhabitants of the Giant Planet worked to increase their size and the planet's size to meet the threat of the agents of X. After Planet X's defeat, the mini-cons were used to repair the intricate computer systems, while the larger Transformers traveled city to city, trying to repair the damage done by Planet X. Gigalonia's key was hidden at one of the center layers of the planet, predating the planet's increase during the war. The leader of Gigantion is Metroplex. The Cyber Planet Key of this world is purple and contains the image of a cogwheel. Gigantion fell into a wormhole resulting from Planet X's explosion and have remained at the edge of another universe.

Cybertron: Primus, creator of the Transformers. While Cybertron itself does not contain a Cyber Planet Key, the power itself comes directly from the power of Primus living within the giant metallic homeworld. The Cyber Key powered directly by Primus is clear with an Autobot or Decepticon logo.

Planet X: While not a planet connected to the space bridge project, the agents of Planet X are empowered by the essense of Unicron and have the ability to summon forth a portion of Unicron's greater power through their own Cyber Keys. Though the Cyber Keys appear to be orange with a Decepticon logo, no Cyber Planet Key has been revealed or discovered to represent these keys. The power comes from Unicron himself, most likely.

Unique Keys: There are keys within the story that do not resemble any Cyber Planet Key host. Keys such as Vector Prime's is powered by time itself, and shares the same essense that comprises Vector Prime's mighty sword. Other keys, such as that of Optimus Prime and Megatron are the effects of their unique powers (Unicron's spark, Prime's Matrix) causing the Earth key influence to change or become greater.

The Fate of the Four Keys
Each of the four keys were eventually recovered by the Autobots, and once combined with the Omega Lock, returned power to Primus. Primus quickly sprang into action and sealed the Unicron Singularity, using the Ark cannon.

At the end of the Cybertron series, a new project was embarked upon which would lead to the four keys being transported to four new planets, creating a system of eight planets and Cybertron.

Fiction

The power comes from Unicron directly, most likely.

Eons ago, four Cyber Planet Keys were scattered across the universe on various planets. Each Key is a portion of Primus' lifeforce, and if gathered together and plugged into the Omega Lock, they can be used to awaken and restore him.

Fiction

The leader of his planet is the three-headed dragon, Scourge.

Fiction

The planets were forever cut off, leaving the various colonies stranded on their homeworlds.

The leader of his planet is the three-headed dragon, Scourge.

The Unicron Singularity is a frightening black hole near Cybertron that threatens to swallow it, and eventually the rest of the universe, whole. The only way to destroy it and put the universe back in order is to gather up the four Cyber Planet Keys and the Omega Lock, hidden on various planets, and use them to awaken Primus.

The Unicron Singularity was born after the end of the Powerlinx Battles as a result of Primus' attempt to bury his eternal nemesis Unicron in the center of a newborn sun. This plan backfired, and Unicron's essence collapsed in on itself, creating a black hole. The black hole's pull was so strong even Unicron's presence in alternate realities was affected, and the fabric of space-time itself was increasingly unstable, altering even the minds, memories, and histories of all who live within this chaotic universe.

Notes
* The Fun Publications Cybertron fan club comic created the idea that the Unicron Singularity was warping and altering space-time to explain away continuity errors between the English dub of the Cybertron cartoon and the two previous series that it was supposed to be a sequel to. It is possible that it could also be used as a blanket explanation for continuity errors in the previous series and things like Sky Shadow's backstory as well.

* The alternate, stand-alone Japanese version of Cybertron, Galaxy Force, made no blatant stated connection between Unicron and the "Grand Black Hole." However, the Grand Black Hole appeared in the present time because the (unspecified) Dark God, the source of darkness in the universe that opposes Primus, was trapped within a Matrix-type object, separating it from the universal balance.

*The planet Cybertron itself was swallowed up by the Grand Black Hole in Galaxy Force's first episode. In the American version, these scenes were omitted, and the black hole mearly hovered threateningly near the planet. This does make more sense, given that characters would return to the planet later in the series and not face any of the negative effects of being in a black hole, such as dying horribly.

Synopsis
As the damaged Alpha Trion is placed into a repair chamber, Vector Prime tells Sentinel Maximus the nature of their opponents. Nemesis Prime was cloned by Unicron from the remains of a defeated Optimus Prime from a long-destroyed dimension. Ramjet's time between dimensions has warped his physical form.

Elsewhere, the dead body of the former Terrorcon leader comes to life! Sort of. It is Dark Scorponok, and he must feed.

At the Iacon Spaceport, Skyfall's ship, the Flash Frenzy touches down. At first the planet seems completely deserted, but then he is attacked by a swarm of Scrapmetal and Dark Scorponok.

Meanwhile, Ramjet explains his plan to Nemesis Prime. Unicron, imprisoned in a physical body by Primus, cannot destroy more than one reality at a time. However, Cybertron is the "stable axis of the multiverse." The essence of Primus spans all timelines, all realities. If Primus is killed here by the Dead Matrix and this Cybertron is fed to the Unicron Singularity, it can replicate itself in every dimension, replacing Cybertron as the center of the multiverse -- a multiverse of nothingness!

Errors
*Dark Scorponok is shown rising from the ground of an undisclosed location outside of Iacon City, before pursuing Skyfall. This return contradicts both the Energon comic book and Energon television series concerning his death. The Energon comic depicted Scorponok's death on Earth, while his death occurred on Jungle Planet in the Energon cartoon.

Synopsis
Weary, Vector Prime enters the Chamber of Alpha Trion. Alpha Trion himself is still in the repair bay where Vector Prime had previously left him. Vector Sigma sits crumbled in the center of the chamber. He orders Downshift to put Skyfall on the table so that the repair drones can repair him. Skyfall is muttering in Ancient Cybertronian.

Optimus Prime, Sentinel Maximus, and Ultra Magnus enter the chamber, and remark at Vector Prime's state of disrepair. (The explosion of Skyfall's force field bubble damaged them both.) Sentinel Prime asks how Optimus and Magnus got here.

We see a flashback, taking place in an alternate universe. We see Optimus Primal leading the Children of Primus against the Minions of Unicron in the Pit. Primal's team consists of Cheetor, Tap-Out, Longhorn, Rhinox, Sunstreaker, Sideswipe, Fireflight, Omega Prime, Whirl, Repugnus, Trailbreaker, King Atlas, Roulette, Prowl, and Side Burn. Razorclaw leads the opposition, consisting of Reptilion, Tankor, Skywarp, Obsidian, Nemesis Strika, and possibly Blackarachnia.

During the middle of this battle, due to the Unicron Singularity's effects on the multiverse, Unicron began to fall apart underneath them. The Minions of Unicron were left to their doom while Primal's team (including Blackarachnia, carried away by Silverbolt), gather themselves and head for an escape portal. Omega Prime expected to find himself on "Primal's technorganic Cybertron" on the other side of the portal, but instead found himself here, in the Unicron Trilogy universe.

(Yes, the flashback described in the previous two paragraphs gave us a glimpse at the end of the never-completed Transformers Universe comics.)

Downshift is surprised to hear that this guy is "Optimus Prime." He doesn't look like the Optimus Prime he knows. Vector Prime is saddened, as Optimus' dimension-hopping tale confirms his fears. The Unicron Singularity, the black hole hovering over Cybertron, is causing the fabric of the multiverse to go wonky. All Unicrons everywhere are now trapped inside it. The past, present, and future are beginning to unravel. It could even explain those pesky memory problems the Autobots searching in this universe for the Cyber Planet Keys are experiencing.

Vector Prime pleads Sentinel Maximus to take Skyfall far away and keep him safe, and disappears in a flash of light. Where did he go?, they ask. A disembodied voice says that it can answer that question.

The voice belongs to the Mini-Con leader Over-Run, who speaks through Vector Sigma. He is Vector Prime and Sentinel Maximus' unknown ally who turned on the autoguns at the Kalis Energy Reserve Center. Downshift thinks he remembers him, but thought he died. Over-Run notes that he did indeed, but the Decepticon Starscream had killed him while the Mini-Con was uploading himself to the Planetary Network. His death finished the process.

(Yes, again, this flashback takes place in the unfinished Energon comics from Dreamwave. We sense a trend here.)

Overrun asks them to do him a favor, now that Vector Prime, weakened severely, is back on Earth. (We see Vector Prime with Coby, Lori, and Bud, the kids from the Cybertron television series. Sentinel Prime is asked to help repair Vector Sigma. Optimus and Magnus are sent to secure the Dead Matrix in the Rare Items Locker at the Archives.

As they start this task, a shadowy figure watches them from afar. (It appears to be Soundwave.)

Phew.

Errors
*Optimus Prime and Ultra Magnus appear to be in their original Robots in Disguise colors now. They were in their Costco Cybertron exclusive colors before.

*In the first Universe flashback panel, Cheetor is colored in white and black. Rhinox appears to be in black and gold.

*Due to the coloring, it's kind of hard to tell whether it's Roulette or Shadow Striker that King Atlas is carrying. Rhinox is still in grays.

*Over-Run, in his flashback, is green for some reason.

*Lori's hair is colored sandy blonde when it should be black. Coby's hair is platinum blond when it should be sandy blonde. Bud's hair is black when it should be platinum blonde.

Items of note
*As mentioned above, this comic depicts events that take place in the Universe and Energon comics, both recently unfinished series. Fanwank-o-rama.
*In the flashback, Optimus Primal is in his Beast Wars Tenth Anniversary body. Sunstreaker and Sideswipe are both back in their original Generation 1 bodies. It's possible Longhorn is a new form for Wreckers' Ramulus, due to his prominent placement.

*Rhinox is fighting Tankor, which is pretty cool, if you think about it.

*Vector Prime says the black hole seems to be causing memory problems with the Autobots. This, uh, appears to be an explanation for all the continuity errors between Energon and Cybertron's television series present in the dubbing.

*And yet, Downshift seems to remember events which apparently happened in the comic book version of Energon. Uh. Fans have heard rumors that the Cybertron cartoon may be meant to take place after the Energon comic instead of the cartoon. Dark Scorponok's packaging bio may be support for this idea, as it mentions a death for him that occurred in the comic, not the cartoon.

*When Vector Prime is seen with the children, they are investigating an Atlantis pattern found on a rock.

*Outside the entrance to the Archives are statues of Generation 1 Grimlock and Jetfire.

After recently reading Dreamwave's Energon comics again, I've noticed that Scorponok's death in them does not agree with the Cybertron Club Comic. In the Club Comic, he is shown awakening on Cybertron and wandering into the cities. This doesn't tie to the Energon comic either, because Scorponok was trashed by Galvatron on Earth while Ironhide was helping to install a Cybertron City tower on what was probably Alaska or the North Pole. Scorponok's body was dead on Earth, not Cybertron. -BC
:No, in the Club Comic, Dark Scorponok is shown arriving via some shiny graphical humming thing, due to the big holes in the space-time continuum the Unicron Singularity caused. Saying Longhorn appears to be a new body for Ramulus seems pretty unsubstantiable from two dialogueless panels. Actually, given the rest of the coloring, it's not hard to imagine it being Ramulus in Ramulus' body. -LV 05:21, 2 April 2006 (UTC)
I dunno. The way he is drawn, and considering his prominence, I would be surprised if he isn't.

The next time he's shown, he's attacking Skyfall outside of his shuttle. He simply wandered into town, pursuing Skyfall because of his immense Energon field. I'm right, as this contradicts either version of Energon.

I'm putting this review up, but I would prefer that information from this story not be integrated into the relevant character pages for a little while. The magazines have yet to arrive in a majority of member households, and while we can probably figure someone has the choice of clicking on this particular review, having "X is dead" at the end of some guy's bio elsewhere might be an unpleasant surprise. I would recommend waiting until at least the 11th. --ItsWalky 04:50, 2 April 2006 (UTC)

In the foreground, we've got Primal, Cheetor, Rhinox, Silverbolt, and Blackarachnia... random redeco no-name who looks just like a major Universe character but in tweaked colors is kind of an odd choice to be grouping with them. --ItsWalky 05:45, 2 April 2006 (UTC)

I still think that's pretty speculative to be taking as canon to the point that "Longhorn" links to Ramulus' entry. The TFU Repugnus entry doesn't even point to G1 Repugnus, and they're clearly the same guy. -LV 05:49, 2 April 2006 (UTC)

Hrm, you're right. --ItsWalky 06:01, 2 April 2006 (UTC)

Thanks for the summory, as I resently canceled my Subscription, this summery makes me wish I hadn't.
P.S. King Atlas is probably carreing Shadow Striker as she was working for Unicron the last time we saw her, and Rollete probably dosn't want to walk away from this battle minus another sister.X-BoB58 07:16, 2 April 2006 (UTC)

The colors definitely lean towards Roulette's, though. She has Roulette's robot mode colors, with the yellow head, chest, and purple shins, but she has a black car robot mode. I'm leaning towards the black car parts just being Ruffolo's shitty coloring making the silver too dark. Everything's dark. Dark dark dark. You can barely tell Roulette is even THERE. --ItsWalky 07:48, 2 April 2006 (UTC)

Is the Cheetor in the colours of that unreleased proto that TF2 took pictures of a while back? X-BoB58 16:44, 2 April 2006 (UTC)
Why does Ruffolo continue to get work? Everything he touches, he RUINS. - User: M Sipher

Actually, it's weird. While looking through War Within #4 to scan for TWW Megs, I noticed he was the colorist. And... it was readable. It was the exact opposite of this. (Of course, characters will still miscolored, which was fixed in the trade.) I think maybe he had a stroke between then and now. Or two minutes to color this, as Steve-o suggested, but that's not crazy enough. --ItsWalky 18:08, 2 April 2006 (UTC)

Do we really have enough of Prime and Magnus to support the idea that they were the Costco versions in Part 1 (that entry says "presumably," which is fine)? I'm not really sure we can call this an error. The amount of Prime and Magnus seen could easily have been either one (Costco or original), so far as I can tell.--G.B. Blackrock 03:38, 3 April 2006 (UTC)

The previous issue definitely uses the TFU/Cybertron colors for Ultra Magnus. Prime has been in his original RID colors consistently (the only difference is the orange-versus-black bandolier). -LV 05:15, 3 April 2006 (UTC)

I'm idly wondering if "Skywarp" is actually supposed to be Jhiaxus. I suppose I could pose the question to Forrest via Pete...
--M Sipher

Naw, I asked Dan. It's Skywarp. That much in this issue was colored correctly. --ItsWalky 05:51, 3 April 2006 (UTC)<div id="wikia-credits"><br /><br /><small>From Teletraan I: The Transformers Wiki, a Wikia wiki.</small></div>

When the Autobots first appeared on Gigantion, Metroplex was at first wary of them, believing the group to be from the mysterious Planet X. As this was clearly not the case, he and his subordinate Quickmix agreed to hear out the newcomers. Optimus Prime and Vector Prime explained that they needed to find the Gigantion Cyber Planet Key in order to save their own homeworld, and that they believe the clues may be hidden in the older cities on Gigantion. At first Metroplex and Quickmix refused to let them into the cities, as it was one of their sacred laws to never enter a city they had previously built.
Cybertron is the third and final Transformers franchise in the Unicron Trilogy.

The Cybertron franchise featured the following primary components:
*A toyline
*A cartoon series

A comic book series was initially planned for Cybertron, but its intended publisher, Dreamwave, went out of business before the line began. The Transformers fan club newsletter includes a short comic story in each issue which is branded with the Cybertron name. This comic, while featuring UT characters, also stars various characters from other timelines, and is loosely tied to 3H's Universe series.

Galaxy Force
Galaxy Force, the Japanese version of Cybertron, is somewhat different than its English counterpart.

The general plot and storylines remain very similar (with the exception of the usual differences in character names.) The main difference between Cybertron and Galaxy Force is that Galaxy Force is handled in an ambiguous way when dealing with the previous animated shows. It is mostly taken as a new story, but set within the storytelling style of the Micron Trilogy(as coined by Takara). While mostly retconning the history in the previous two shows, alternative material suggests that Master Megatron's posession of Unicron's spark, the existence of Planet X, and the advancement of the Grand Black Hole may be the cause of the shift in story, which is otherwise happening in the same timeline of events. Cybertron, which is openly acknowledged as a sequel to Transformers Armada and Energon, is told in the Unicron Trilogy universe, which has been historically shifted due to the effects of the Unicron Singularity on time and space(club comic).

The differences and similarities between the two tellings lead not only to character differences but also to different takes on some key events. The Unicron Singularity (or Grand Black Hole in Japan) was not created by the outright destruction of Unicron in the recent stories, but was the result of Unicron(The Dark God) having his spark contained in a safe item resembling the Autobot Matrix of Leadership during ancient times. Because the Dark God was a balance in this universe, time itself began to decay. As we furthered into the future, we come ever closer to the end of time itself, which we percieved as the Grand Black Hole.

Galaxy Force's status as a standalone or a sequel is ambiguous. While all of the source material surrounding it gave solid hints that it was a part of the Micron Legend Trilogy(as stated by Takara). The notes within the final release of the Galaxy Force DVD volumes explored the deeper stories behind what was presented in the show, which contained several links to the previous series, one of which once again presented the idea that Master Megatron had absorbed Unicron's spark and gained his powers.

The most obvious assumption is that the handling of the Galaxy Force story was the result of the brand needing to avoid exhaustion and the over-use of the common story elements in the previous two series. While they continued the overall story started in Micron Legend, they handled it in a way to make it seem fresh to previous viewers and easy to follow for new viewers. Cybertron was handled and crafted much in the same way. Notable is the fact that alot of the story elements in Galaxy Force and Cybertron are hand-overs from the previous shows. Because the child audience is always maturing and changing, some of these hand-over events seemed to be explained away in styled-down fashion to avoid confusion and too much history recapping. Cybertron's Wing Saber, for example, experienced a combination with Optimus Prime in the Char asteroid belt, which offers a faster alternative to explaining their relationship in the previous Energon series.

The Galaxy Force story of Planet X(explained in the DVD insert) contains so many strong ties to Unicron and the previous story that without it, the story told in the show comes across as unexplored.
Wing Saber for example experienced a combination with Prime in the Char asteroid belt, which offers a faster alternative to explaining their relationship in the previous Energon series.

The Galaxy Force story of Planet X(explained in the DVD insert) contains so many strong ties to Unicron and the previous story that without it, the story told in the show comes across as unexplored.
