Caught unawares, the Autobots contact [[Optimus Prime (G1)|Optimus Prime]] and the Autobots in their secondary headquarters on the planet [[Athenia]], and Prime leads troops to aid in the battle on Cybertron. [[Hound (G1)|Hound]] theorises that the loss of the [[Matrix of Leadership|Matrix]]'s energy has destabilised [[Vector Sigma]] and [[Spike]] deduces that the Decepticons have targeted the computer, intending to take control it, and through it, the planet.

Meanwhile, on Earth, the Autobots under [[Ultra Magnus (G1)|Ultra Magnus]]'s command have received orders to join the conflict on Cybertron, but their way to the space bridge is barred by a Decepticon contingent led by [[Sixshot]], and he and Magnus square off. At the same time, [[Wheelie]] and [[Daniel]] are pursued by [[Trypticon]] and manage to escape by tricking him into falling down a ravine. The arrival of the [[Trainbot]]s tips things in the Autobots' favor, and they break off the fight to head for [[Autobot City]]; the pursuing Decepticons are dispatched by [[Metroplex (G1)|Metroplex]], and the troops are carried through the space bridge aboard the Trainbots, while Wheelie and Daniel stowed away.

As the battle escalates and conditions worsen on Cybertron, Kup is reminded of the early days of the war when many Autobots fled the planet to escape the conflict. As if on cue, a mysterious light appears in the sky, approaching Cybertron - a light that [[Blurr (G1)|Blurr]] soon realises is not a star, but a star''ship''! *When the Decepticons emerge from the space bridge at the start of the episode, [[Hun-Gurrr]] is missing from the [[Terrorcon (G1)|Terrorcons]], [[Swindle (G1)|Swindle]] is missing from the [[Combaticon]]s and both Divebomb and Headstrong are missing from the [[Predacon (G1)|Predacons]]. The two Predacons reappear later on, but the others don't, and Rippersnapper actually gives out orders to the team.
*Similarly, when the [[Technobot]]s appear, Strafe is missing, but when the angle switches, Scattershot has disappeared, and Strafe is in his place (just as ''Lightspeed'' issues orders to the team!).

*Although he does not speak, Prowl appears quite prominently in a few scenes, despite his death in ''[[The Transformers: The Movie]]''. The fact that the movie had not yet been released in Japan at this point is often cited as a reason for this, but Prowl's name ''was'' included on the list of dead Autobots in the Japanese dub of ''[[Dark Awakening]]'', so they ''did'' know. The ''[[Binaltech]]'' storyline seemed like it was going to explain this, but got shunted off into it's own alternate reality when it ended.
*Blitzwing is shown with the Decepticons, but he was banished from their ranks in ''[[Five Faces of Darkness, Part 5]]''. This previously occurred in ''[[The Ultimate Weapon]]'', and it will not be the last time that this occurs in ''The Headmasters''.

This version of the episode was also included on [[Metrodome]]'s Season 2, Part 2 DVD box set. Metrodome then included an original Japanese language version with subtitles on ''The Transformers: The Movie - Reconstructed'', as promotion for their dual-language boxset release of the entire series. '''Floro Dery''' was the design supervisor for the original [[Generation 1 (cartoon)|cartoon]]. He was also responsible for simplifying many of the original designs down to the eventual [[character model]]s.

He has also taken credit for fully designing many of the elements of the series, including all the human characters and incidental robots. He has further claimed to have been the originator of the idea of [[Unicron|a transforming planet]],<ref>[http://members.aol.com/tfencyc/interview_dery.html ZMFTS interviews Dery]</ref> despite early Japanese concept sketches which precede his involvement. Many of his claims have been met by skepticism among the online fandom thanks to his own contradicting interviews throughout the years.

Floro Dery is very fond of his [[The Transformers: The Movie (1986)|1986 movie]] designs, especially [[Hot_Rod#Generation_1_cartoon|Hot Rod]] and [[Gnaw]] (though even Dery doesn't like [[Wheelie]], and he designed the guy). Dery is fairly infamous in the fandom for the outlandish and often very egocentric claims he has made in various interviews down the years. Although it can't be ''proven'', stricly speaking, there's a wealth of evidence suggesting that for years, he searched out Transformers forums and messageboards for mentions of himself and his work, then posted under various aliases (often claiming to be one his "associates") to inflate his own legend and verbally attack fan and foe alike for daring to criticize him, or suggesting that someone ''other'' than Dery designed something in the show.

The first such instance occurred on alt.toys.transformers in 2002 [http://groups.google.co.uk/group/alt.toys.transformers.classic.moderated/browse_frm/thread/5a4c8a0e53e2b287/f1a0eefc05e61dea?hl=en&lnk=st&q=kuest144#f1a0eefc05e61dea], which was a fairly civil series of posts, even if the rampant egomania was clearly in evidence from the outset. Later, he basically repeated the same post to correct the long-standing misconception that Marvel artist [[John Romita]] had been responsible for designing the animation models. [http://groups.google.co.uk/group/alt.toys.transformers/msg/5833ec08b5ae1b38] Following Zobovor's interview with Dery, however, which caused many to comment on Dery's self-centred eccentricities, the civility level began to drop as more posts from "kuest144" were made claiming that any critics of Dery were "jealous" and that he was so envied that it had led to "harassment". Not to worry, though{{m-}}Marvel had specially set it up so he could work at home to avoid encountering these vicious haters! It was at this point that Rik Bakke pointed out that the screename was (and indeed, still is) the same as one of Dery's homepage accounts. Perhaps the most public case was that of "Ote," a poster who briefly appeared on [http://www.allspark.com The Allspark] to decry any critics of Dery's as "racists". Only a [http://shortpacked.livejournal.com/25628.html small archive] of this hilarious series of interactions has been preserved, but "Ote" was firmly silenced when everyone pointed out that one of the most popular Transformers artists around, [[Don Figueroa]], is ''also'' Filipino.

And then, of course, there's the possible case in evidence on [[User talk:76.213.224.139|this]] [[User talk:76.213.232.73|very]] [[User talk:76.213.244.5|wiki]].

The writing style and mannerisms evident in these assorted tirades, including the assorted howls at being insulted, the claims that clear arguments ''against'' him somehow prove his point, and the general unhalting ''stupidity'' of the whole affair, makes it pretty clear that they're all the work of the same person, and they're immensely similar to Dery's own pontifications as seen in his interviews {{m-}} so if it isn't him, then he has got one ''majorly'' rabid fan running around.

His sociopathic tendencies, combined with his incredible vanity and arrogance, usually result in tension between himself and the other Autobots. He is generally unwilling to help those who are having trouble keeping up, and is quite audible when it comes to complaining about the shortcomings of everyone else. The only Autobot he truly gets along with is his twin brother, [[Sideswipe (G1)|Sideswipe]], and even that can seem strained at times.

The main reason [[Optimus Prime (G1)|Optimus Prime]] keeps him around is most likely Sunstreaker's effectiveness in the battlefield. Ruthless and skilled in all forms of combat, there is not much Sunstreaker cannot handle. As a front-line warrior, Sunstreaker is a great asset for the [[Autobot]] army. If a rather scary one.

Sunstreaker was part of the original crew of Autobots aboard the ''Ark'' that crashed on Earth four million years ago. When reawakened in 1984, he and his brother Sideswipe were reformatted into Lamborghini sports cars. Sideswipe and Sunstreaker often operated together.

When [[Chip Chase]] was kidnapped by the Decepticons and brought to the recently conquered [[antimatter]] laboratory of [[Dr. Alcazar]], the Autobots successfully staged a rescue operation to get him back. Sunstreaker then led a second team of Autobots into the lab, declaring that they had to get the antimatter cubes before it was too late, smashing a Sunstreaker-shaped hole in the wall. Unfortunately, he and the other Autobots were damaged when Megatron threw an antimatter cube at them. After returning to the ''Ark'', Sunstreaker was heard to complain about a 'very sensitive junction' in his elbow, but was soon repaired quickly enough to arm wrestle with Sideswipe. When the antimatter-fueled Decepticons attacked the ''Ark'', Sideswipe and Sunstreaker took to the air to battle with the incoming [[Seeker]] jets, in a rambunctious {{m-}} if ultimately ineffective {{m-}} display of "jet judo." The Unicron-influenced ambiance of the place was slowly driving the more violent of the group mad. This, of course, included Sunstreaker. Sunstreaker was part of [[Operation Liberation]] in 1998, a joint human-Autobot effort to defeat the Earth-bounded Decepticons. At the end it was a success, and the captured Decepticons, along with the Autobots and a human crew, departed Earth en route to Cybertron in the ''[[Ark II]]''. The ship, however, was sabotaged and exploded upon liftoff.

A few years later Megatron and other Transformers, including Autobots, were seen causing havoc. He and his passenger [[Hunter O'Nion]] became separated from Ironhide and seemingly destroyed. It was soon revealed that it was not the case, the debris recovered by Optimus Prime was revealed by Ratchet to be an elaborate fake.

We ''can'' legally use Wikipedia's content... but this isn't Wikipedia, and hopefully, we'd like to have articles on this wiki end up being different from ones you'd find there. Wikipedia, as much as it's wonderful, has a very different perspective on TF things than we do here; and not only does it just reflect better on our part if our content is original, but it actually provides a far more useful resource. If someone wants to look at what Wikipedia says about a given subject, then let them go to Wikipedia.

Although as just a side note, Wikipedia or this Wiki aren't public domain: they're released under GFDL, which basically sums up to "you can do whatever you want with it, so long as you let others do the same, and give credit". He thought that his shield could withstand, and absorb, the energy of the attack. This Galvatron was quite mad in his home time - he lethally punished his close lieutenant [[Cyclonus (G1)|Cyclonus]], and continued to 'kill' a long-dead Rodimus Prime whose remains he'd strung up on what was left of the World Trade Center.

Before he could make good his plans for nuclear energy, though, he was snatched through time to 1991 by [[Hook, Line, and Sinker]], who were working for a Unicron who 'may or may not become' the one who created him. This Unicron tried to use him as a soldier in his own attack on Cybertron, but Galvatron quickly turned against him. He assisted [[Emirate Xaaron]] in his attempts to awaken [[Primus]]; Unicron sent Hook, Line and Sinker to eliminate Galvatron, but he easily destroyed the trio.

After Unicron's destruction, a group of Decepticons hijacked the [[Ark]], and Galvatron stowed away on board. He then fought against and subsequently allied with this era's Megatron, teaming up with him to destroy [[Shockwave (G1)|Shockwave]] before the Ark crashed on Earth. However, Thundercracker was then gang-attacked by [[Overhaul (Cybertron)|Leobreaker]], [[Hot Shot (Armada)|Hot Shot]], [[Jetfire (Armada)|Jetfire]], and [[Landmine (Energon)|Landmine]], giving Prime the opportunity to chase Galvatron into the black hole.

Before the dawn of time, Order and Chaos existed within an extradimensional entity known as the [[One]]. To explore the fledging universe, he created the astral being known as [[Unicron]], and then subdivided him, creating his twin, Primus. Both brothers were multiversal singularities, unique in all realities, but whereas Unicron could only exist in one dimension at a time, moving between them at will, Primus existed simultaneously in all realities at once. It is suggested, in fact, that the two brothers embody the basic concepts of reality - good and evil, order and chaos - and that their continued existence is necessary for the stability of the multiverse.

As Unicron and Primus went about their appointed task, venturing through the cosmos, it became apparent to Primus that Unicron was a corrupt being, and he took it upon himself to stop the threat posed to all of existence by his sibling. In combat, Primus was no match for Unicron. In cunning, however, he proved himself to his brother's superior when he shifted their battle to the astral plane, and then back to the physical world once more, only to have both their essences manifest within metallic planetoids, leaving them both trapped. It was with this act of sacrifice that Primus hoped to contain Unicron's evil forever. Unfortunately for him, over time, Unicron learned to psionically shape his prison into a giant metallic planet, and Primus followed suit, becoming the mechanical world of [[Cybertron (planet)|Cybertron]]. When Unicron then learned to transform his planetary form even further, into a gigantic robot form, Primus adapted the idea to suit his own ends - rather than transforming his own body, he would create small beings that would be able to change their shape, like Unicron. After performing a "test run" on the moon of [[Protos]], where he successfully created [[Covenant|twelve transforming robotic beings]], {{storylink|Herald, Covenant, Schism, Paradox|Covenant}} he birthed from his own body a group of thirteen robots that possessed the ability to change shape, like Unicron. In the Unicron Trilogy universe, Primus made was introduced as the living energy core of Cybertron, as well as the originator of the precious and ancient fuel, [[energon]]. Transformers of this universe believed the stories of Unicron, Primus, and [[Omega Supreme (Energon)|Omega Supreme]] to be only myth and legend until the existence of Unicron was revealed in the "Unicron Battles" of 2010. With Cybertron left in a disastrous state after the chaos-bringer's attack, large amounts of Energon were required to repair the planet, and to search for and acquire the mineral, the united Autbot-Decepticon forces entered into an alliance with the Earth Federated Government.

Primus entered into the equation when the project's head scientist, [[Dr. Brian Jones]], brought his son, [[Kicker]], to Cybertron. Terrified of the giant robots surrounding him, Kicker fled, only find himself tumbling through tunnels into a hidden chamber deep beneath Cybertron's surface. Primus awoke and saved Kicker from what would have been a fatal fall, and for his own reasons, imbued the child with a special gift - the ability to detect energon throughout the universe. [[Optimus Prime (Armada)|Optimus Prime]] subsequently discovered Kicker in Primus's chamber, and the god chose to work with the Transformers quite directly, imbuing them with the "Spark of Combination," which would allow the Autobots to combine and increase their powers. For the first time, it would be possible to Unicron to strike at Primus in all realities simultaneously, ending their cosmic feud once and for all.

Ramjet and Nemesis Prime were ultimately stopped by Vector Prime and allies [[Sentinel Maximus]] and [[Omega Prime]], plucked from the midst of the ''Universe'' conflict by the multiverse-warping energies of the black hole. == IDW comics continuity ==

As of this writing, neither Unicron nor Primus has appeared in the new [[IDW Publishing|IDW comic universe]]. Writer [[Simon Furman]] has stated that he may specifically ''exclude'' Primus and Unicron from this universe, which might be seen as retconning out the previous retcon and rendering Primus as being once again a feature of only "some" Transformer continuities. Without a fairly direct in-story description of Cybertron's origins, however, it is impossible to say whether Primus is in fact absent in this universe, or merely not up to anything. This last one is possible, seeing as how Cybertron itself is a barren wasteland, with the stories taking place on Earth and other planets. It was at least confirmed that Transformers have a diety named Primus when Cybertronians were shown taking his name in vain while under attack by the Seekers in [[Megatron Origin, part 4]].

In the absence of Primus, there were some other interesting things to mention in Cybertronian religion. In the [[Stormbringer (comics)|Stormbringer]] miniseries, [[Jetfire (G1)|Jetfire]] and [[Scoop]] make mention of [[Primacron]] in an almost religious manner ("Primacron help us" and "Primacron only knows"). [[Bludgeon (G1)|Bludgeon]] claims that there is a spirit of Cybertron which needs to be appeased to restore Cybertron, which one could easily interpret as Primus. However, Bludgeon's idea of appeasing Cybertron was to allow [[Thunderwing (G1)|Thunderwing]] to destroy a bunch of planets in a mass sacrifice, so his sources (and his sanity) are a matter of debate.

Primus did not exist in Japanese Transformers fiction until he was introduced in ''Superlink'' (''Energon''). Although his nature is not fully divulged in the course of either this series or ''Galaxy Force'' (''Cybertron''), some early ''Superlink'' [http://web.archive.org/web/20041207164548/www.tfpulp.com/archive/energonprod/energonprod.html pre-production notes] go into the specifics of Primus's creation. Not particularly in-line with the Western multiversal origin of the character, they present Primus as an entity consisting purely of energon. Energon, the notes state, is the product of the "genetic material" of the sun interacting with planetary bodies - this, then, appears to be a very literal interpretation of Primus's role as a "light god," presenting him as an actual product of the light of the sun.

The Japanese decided at last to introduce a "G1" equivalent of the character in the [[Kiss Players]] fiction of 2007, wholly distinct from the version seen in ''Energon'' and ''Cybertron'', since the character is not a multiversal singularity in Japan. Here, the character was envisioned as part of a complicated retcon that merged various animated concepts - [[Oracle (G1)|Primacron's assistant]], [[Vector Sigma]] and the [[Oracle]] - into one singular entity, who was also Primus.

Formerly the assistant to the Primacron, the ancient genius who created the giant mechanoid Unicron, the robotic being known as the Oracle was badly damaged when Unicron rebelled against his creator. His essence fled to a dead world at the centre of the galaxy, which he used his powers to transform into a verdant, green planet. This world was eventually discovered by the alien Quintessons, and the Oracle was captured and transformed into the mega-computer, [[Vector Sigma]]. The Oracle's world was transformed into the metallic planet of Cybertron, his powers were harnessed by the Quintessons to create the races of robots that would eventually become the Transformers, and the shell that had held his essence became the Matrix of Leadership.

Eons later, in the year 2007, three of Unicron's servants, the [[Sparkbot]]s, co-opted the human singing group, the [[Kiss Players (singing group)|Kiss Players]], into helping them gather up the scattered [[Angolmois|essence]] of the master following his destruction in 2005. The three girls - [[Marissa Faireborn]], [[Atari Hitotonari]] and [[Shaoshao Li]] - were taken on a journey through space and time, and were tricked into believing that they were recovering fragments of the so-called "Allspark" from [[Autobot]] or [[Maximal]] leaders throughout history. The Oracle - by this stage calling himself Primus - was forced to intervene, appearing as a giant golden hand which began to steal away the fragments before the Kiss Players could gather them. Pursuing him across the multiverse, the Kiss Players collided with the [[Wall of Time]] and were scattered across dimensions.

Primus rescue the girls from the Unicron Trilogy universe and revealed the Sparkbots deception, before transforming into his "golden ark" mode (which Shaoshao thought looked more like a camper truck) to pursue the three villains back in time to prehistoric Earth. They arrived just in time to witness the Sparkbots' successul restoratin of Unicron to life, but Primus transformed once more and unleashed the power of his mobile cannon platform, destroying Unicron's energy and sealing it and the Sparkbots deep within the planet. To ensure that Unicron would never be freed again, he created a mighty guardian, [[Fortress Maximus (RID)|Fortress Maximus]], who would watch over it and the Earth. With the battle over, Shaoshao asked about the Kiss Players' future, but Primus did not reply. His work complete, the god transformed into a golden sphere and went to sleep.

On the 'bottom' of the planet mode there are four hard rubber legs, molded to be shaped like towers, allowing Primus to be displayed in planet mode, yet not require a flat base as Unicron did.

:Primus's transformation is unusual, in many ways similar to a [[Powermaster]], in that he requires the owner to insert his accompanying Omega Lock accessory into several special ports around the planet, then manipulate it to unlock his parts and transform him. This leads to a rather ugly result, as the halves do not sit flush to Screamer's rounded fist, and since the handgrip is now merely positioned on either side of the fist rather than replacing it (by, y'know, ''gripping''), it gives the appearance of Megs having a double-length handle. In order to pass modern safety regulations (both the government's and Hasbro's), its blaster mode includes lots of purple and green, plus bright orange on both the tip of the "barrel" and the scope.

:Although some official Hasbro photographs, including those appearing on the toy's packaging, show the gun mode's trigger and other small parts as being orange, those parts were gray in later stock photography and the final release.

:Something of a [[shellformer]], Nikeatron is coloured primarily black and grey in his altmode of a realistic-looking scaled-down Nike sneaker, complete with (gratuitously long) real fabric shoelaces. In robot mode he incoporates a little additional red in predictable areas, and has a somewhat uniquely-shaped yet instantly recognisable G1-insipred head, with rather snooty (or camp, take your pick) pursed lips. An undocumented aspect of his transformation is that his gun, which splits in two halves and scretes inside his [[kibble]] when transforming (much like [[Rattrap]]'s) has two handle pegs on opposite sides, so that the gun can be held either at its far end or halfway along its length. Additionally, the Megatron figure has an aditional peg hole in his right forearm (well, technically so does Prime), allowing you to insert the mid-length plug of his black-coloured weapon at this point, positioning the weapon in such a way as to (''vaguely'') resemble his traditional [[fusion cannon]], rather than simply holding it in his hand.

The VS-X art replaced the red with blue, but kept the 'chrome'.
