Fact checking -- US Gen1
Welp, this is shaping up to be a pretty massive article. It may need to be divided later on down the track. Right now what it needs is a little bit of fact checking. Anyone with the following toys, can you please check that they do in fact have 5mm pegs/ports:
*<strike>Ramhorn</strike>
*<strike>Slugfest and Overkill</strike>
*Ratbat
*Beastbox and Squawktalk
*Pretender Beasts
*Pretender Vehicles
*The Mega Pretenders
*The Ultra Pretenders
*<strike>Punch/Counterpunch</strike>

Please use the original releases to check as reissues sometimes have distinctly different post sizes or tolerances which would make them invalid as tests -- we'll get to the reissues later as this article develops.

:I can confirm that Punch/Counterpunch uses 5mm pegs. I don't have mine handy, but I know as a kid I used to give his guns to my Targetmasters, etc. -hx 10:05, 12 February 2010 (EST)
::Just checked my original Ramhorn, and his post holes are slightly larger than 5mm. Specifically, Deluxe Classics Prime's rifle is loose in the hole, Deluxe Animated Battle Begins Prime's axe is tight. For comparison, my Voyager Classics Prime can hold that gun tightly, but must hold the axe by the posts near the head. Weren't all the holes on the cassettes slightly larger? Khajidha 11:11, 12 February 2010 (EST)
::Found weapons (no figures) for Slugfest and Overkill, they fit loosely on Ramhorn. Their designs won't let them fit Voyager Classic Prime's fist, but they fit quite well in the hole that his wind vane/ion blaster attaches to on his back. Guess that makes them 5mm posts. Khajidha 11:23, 12 February 2010 (EST)
:::Yeah, not all 5mm posts are exactly equal.--RosicrucianTalk 12:00, 12 February 2010 (EST)
::::My Ratbat is the same as my Ramhorn, holes are just slightly larger than most 5mm pegs. Khajidha 10:11, 20 February 2010 (EST)

Just to report Overlord does not have 5MM fists. His fist holes/gun-peg are *much* larger. However he does have a set of holes in his upper arms (not screw holes as far as I can tell) that are 5mm. Checked Slugfest and Overkill too, they can fit PM Primes gun but it's a tad tight. 76.28.76.206
:I just checked, and Skyhammer's shell's fists do indeed have 5mm peg holes. I couldn't find the inner robot or the vehicle to check them, though. -- Semysane 15:53, 16 February 2010 (EST)
::I actually have his vehicle shell. (Such as it is, stupid GPS.) I'll check it. But thanks for confirmation. The robot's unlikely to have anything more than a post for a weapon in vehicle mode.Jhiaxus 21:27, 17 February 2010 (EST)
Fact Checking Japanese Gen1
The list up top still has toys that need checking. But there's a tonne in Japanese Gen1 I need proper confirmation on. When I wrote this stuff there was a lot of guessing involved and it needs checking on actual toys (Which I simply don't have access to.) Please reply under the appropriate heading, not under the Japanese fact checking heading as a whole.
*Metalhawk
*Grand Maximus
*Overlord (thanks for the info above -- I based my entry on it, but it still needs checking)
*Browning
Victory
*Star Saber
*Victory Leo
*Galaxy Shuttle
*Liokaiser (I know some of it's right, since I have rescue force... but I'm not positive about Gaihawk, Hellbat or his fists.)
*Black Shadow + Blue Bacchus
*Deathsaurus (I didn't list him because I just had no clue... so if anyone could check him that'd be great.)
Combining with Peg
No. I don't think so. This article is enormous already -- and getting bigger all the time. It's dedicated to a specific KIND of peg, not to pegs in general. If we tried to integrate a general pegs article into this one it would bloat beyond all proportion.

What needs to be done is the peg article actually needs to be written properly, and made not a stub.Jhiaxus 00:43, 5 March 2010 (EST)
:I posted the notices in an attempt to draw attention to the articles. I could see it going either way but just wanted a more active dialogue.Khajidha 12:24, 5 March 2010 (EST)
ALSO use 5mm pegs.. Found that out the fun way when a gun from my parts bucket fit nicely on them, and it turned out to be Perceptor's gun (never owned Perceptor, no idea where it came from..). ROTF Bludgeon confirmed it in a delightful way.
hy does this page stop at Energon?-BladeRunner
**Good question. Several toys in the last five years (!) have them, not the least of which is the very next season. Then there's the Power Core Combiners, made specifically with mix=and-matching in mind and with possibilities that are not readily apparent until you've really done some playing around with them, and oddities you can't know about other figures until you've taken 'em out of the box (Such as the guns of War for Cybertron Soundwave being held by hollow 5 mm pegs, making it compatible with other lines and energon weapons.)
