Devastator is a tormented being, his very formation wracking his component Constructicons with pain and stressing them to the breaking point both physically and mentally. The imperfect fusion process produces a mind that's very much less than the sum of its parts; rage and pain are all he knows, pushing aside whatever intelligence he might possess. Devastator relies on almost pure instinct in battle.

Upon arrival in [[Egypt]], the Constructicons that made up Devastator combined and attacked [[Leo Spitz]], [[Seymour Simmons]], [[Skids (ROTF)|Skids]], and [[Mudflap (ROTF)|Mudflap]]. It rampaged through the construction facility, sucking up anything not anchored down, such as sand, cars, and Mudflap. Despite the powerful vacuum, Mudflap held out for a while before being sucked further in. Seeking vengeance, Skids clambered up Devastator for revenge. However, Mudflap had survived, and he clawed his way through the giant Decepticon's head to climb out before further attacking the combiner and slowing it down.

[[Megatron (Movie)|Megatron]] yelled Devastator's name from atop the [[Great Pyramid of Giza]] to end the twins' distraction. Devastator clambered out the construction pit and grappled his way to the peak of the pyramid, where he used his turbine breath to suck up the stones that hid the [[solar harvester]] inside. By this point, Simmons had made his way to the pyramid, and he radioed a nearby navy ship to fire its experimental [[rail gun]], which had been developed based on studies of Megatron during his captivity at [[Hoover Dam]]. :Devastator is formed from the combination of six transforming construction vehicle toys that do not have individual robot modes. :The toy's electronics are all in the Mixmaster component. Pressing the button makes Devastator's mouth open and activates voice clips and engine sounds, as well as green lights in his mouth and eyes. Pressing the button for a few seconds activates his "Vortex grinder". However, the button trigger is so sensitive that he ''never shuts up''. In Devastator mode, his mouth can be locked into the open position by clicking his lower jaw sections into the large tank treads that form his shoulders. His mouth is enormous, and it lights up all pretty and green. He can easily swallow any Legends-class toy and spit it out the other side by opening up the back of his head. Covering Devastator's head when seperating him from the torso and turning him back into Mixmaster's vehicle mode activates the transformation noise, and after that somehow makes engine stalling noises without pulling the trigger.

:Sadly, Devastator has a hard time standing on all four of his limbs, and is most stable standing on his hind legs. This is mainly because the most weight is located in the head, and his fingers are not made to hold that weight. He will also look straight to the ground unless you lock his head in place with the lower jaw.

The All Spark's origins are unknown. What is known is it was responsible for creating Cybertron and a race of powerful entities, the [[Thirteen original Transformers|Thirteen Primes]]. The Primes soon discovered the All Spark's vast power was finite, and they were at a loss on how to restore it. Fate intervened when a nearby star went nova, repowering the All spark. The Primes could travel dimensions, but they needed help harvesting and locating stars. The All Spark responded when it created a new race of helpers, the Transformers, robots who could change their forms. Transformers called [[Seeker (ROTF)|Seekers]] had the ability to travel into interstellar space and sought out suitable suns. [[Constructicon (ROTF)|Other Transformers]] constructed [[Solar Harvester|harvester]]s which enabled the collection of such energy, and this energy would in turn repower the All Spark.

Knowing the destructive capabilities of the harvesters, the Thirteen Primes tempered their search with the rule to never destroy a star with a life bearing world. The All Spark then formed a key to activate the Harvesters, the [[Matrix of Leadership]], which the Thirteen protected. With their descendants, the Thirteen formed the [[Dynasty of Primes]], leading the Transformers and recharging the All Spark with harvested stars. One day, the Thirteen and their attendants were building a star harvester on [[Earth|a world]] when they discovered that it was inhabited by [[Human|primitive but sentient creatures]]. Twelve of the Primes upheld their rule of sparing life, but one of the Primes despised the creatures as insects and had been thinking dark thoughts of seizing the All Spark for himself. The Prime betrayed his brothers and was forever known as [[The Fallen]]. In the battle that followed, Transformer fought Transformer for the first time. Eleven of the Thirteen were killed, but the sole survivor stole the Matrix and hid it in a tomb made of the bodies of the dead Primes, giving his life to seal the Tomb. Returning to Cybertron, The Fallen massacred the rest of the Dynasty and destroyed the sarcophagi of his brothers to prevent their return, but the traitorous Prime was in turn sealed in his own sarcophagus by the spirits of his brothers. A single orphan was hidden away from The Fallen, unaware of his lineage. The Transformers were unaware of their predecessors or the All Spark's origin, but to them the All Spark was the source of life, and that was all that mattered. In return for this act of creation and the continued sustaining of Cybertron, the Transformers tended to the All Spark and kept it safe. Under the reign of science division leader [[Optimus Prime (Movie)|Optimus]] and defense force leader [[Megatron (Movie)|Protector Megatron]], the Transformers flourished. {{storylink|Movie Prequel issue 1|Prime Directive issue 1}} The peace ended when the Fallen's sarcophagus was dug up, causing the All Spark to give off pulses, attracting the attention of a hostile alien species who attacked Cybertron. At the same time, Optimus and his science division discovered that Optimus was somehow connected to the Dynasty of Primes.

Eventually, Prime made the decision to launch the All Spark blindly into space. At Optimus Prime's orders, [[Bumblebee (Movie)|Bumblebee]] and a group of Autobots served as decoys, drawing the Decepticons—who thought they had the All Spark—to [[Tyger Pax]], far enough away from the artifact's true location to buy Prime the time needed to prepare the launch. Megatron himself took a personal hand in the torture of Bumblebee, attempting to force him to reveal the All Spark's location, but his efforts went in vain, and the All Spark was blasted into space to put it beyond Megatron's reach. Later on, a space-travelling [[Ironhide (Movie)|Ironhide]] would be captured by an alien craft—its inhabitants appeared to be immense entities that claimed the All Spark had been stolen from them, and did a psychic probe of Ironhide. They turned out to be "electrical ghosts", a digital imprint from another time kept alive by the photon-rich atmosphere; the ship was a derelict, salvaged by another (rather feeble) alien race that had been using these ghosts as a front. When it turns human non-sentient mechanical devices into Transformers, the All Spark energy within them forms into small, red All Spark cubes; these can be removed and placed into other things. Most of the Autobots were soon deployed to deal with his running comrade [[Sideways (ROTF)|Sideways]], leaving NEST with only [[Ironhide (Movie)|Ironhide]] to deal with the massive Constructicon. Overhead, a [[United States Air Force#C-17 Globemaster III|C-17 Globemaster III]] circled, dropping the most powerful Autobot onto the battle field: [[Optimus Prime (Movie)|Optimus Prime]] had entered the game.

As Demolishor rolled along the freeway, crushing cars and destroying barriers, Optimus intercepted him at an overpass and leaped onto his head as the Decepticon reduced the overpass to rubble. Demolishor declined Optimus' demand for him to "pull over" forcing the Autobot leader to fire his [[Ion blaster]] into the former's head, soon followed by Ironhide jumping on and shooting out his massive tires. The crippled Decepticon crashed into a warehouse district and was helpless as Optimus Prime, Ironhide, and the rest of the NEST soldiers advanced.

Standing before the "Punk-ass Decepticon" as Ironhide dubbed him, Optimus inquired if there were any last words he wished to convey. However, Bonecrusher's skills left him consigned to a supervisory position and kept him off the battlefield, which, of course, he hated. He then demanded that Brawl take them to Megatron or he would kill them all. Witnessing the launch of the All Spark, [[Barricade (Movie)|Barricade]] commented that [[Cybertron (planet)|Cybertron]] would die, but Bonecrusher replied that they should let it die, and that Barricade should join it in death. Bonecrusher was hiding out in the motor pool of a military base when he received a communique from Starscream ordering the Decepticons to mobilize and converge on the location of the All Spark. Leaving the base, he reported that he was "rolling" out. Sometime after this, he rendezvoused with [[Barricade (Movie)|Barricade]] and [[Brawl (Movie)|Devastator]], and the three Decepticons headed off together to intercept the Autobots and their human allies who had the All Spark in their possession.

Devastator wandered off somewhere, so Bonecrusher and Barricade continued their pursuit on the freeway. Barricade activated his sirens to clear the traffic and allow them more maneuvering room. Unsatisfied with Barricade's less conspicuous method, Bonecrusher used his mine-scoop to flip cars out of his way. Surprisingly, the Autobots didn't find this out of the ordinary, and only reacted when [[Sam Witwicky|ladiesman217]] recognized Barricade and warned the Autobots. After Barricade pulled over to the side of the road, Bonecrusher transformed while still moving and skated towards the Autobots. Optimus Prime transformed and slid into position to block his path. Seeing the Autobot he really hated, Bonecrusher smashed through a bus, and tackled Optimus Prime, pushing him off an overpass tumbling and falling off the edge, dragging the Autobot leader down with him.

When they landed, he sucker-punched Optimus Prime, who then hit Bonecrusher so hard one of the Decepticon's [[Sensors#Optical sensors|optics]] popped free from its socket, all the while being observed by a little kid in an SUV, who though the entire experience was ''totally'' cool. The two played a little cat-and-mouse along the overpasses. After Prime jumped down to ground level, Bonecrusher swung his tail wildly at the Autobot, all the while screaming incoherently. This gave Optimus the opportunity he needed to get his sword ready... which the Autobot leader used to cleave Bonecrusher's right arm and run through the Decepticon's neck, nearly severing it.
