After the AllSpark shard was retrieved from NEST's secure bunker at Diego Garcia, Scrapmetal, Long Haul, Rampage, and Mixmaster secreted themselves aboard the Bayos freighter heading towards the North Atlantic. Once the ship passed over the Laurentian Abyss, Ravage, carrying both the shard and the Doctor, flew onto the ship, hiding between Scrapmetal and Mixmaster while a sailor passed. Once they reached the specific site, the Decepticons jumped overboard and dove down to where Megatron's broken body lay.

Once they located his shell, the Doctor was released to assess their leader's condition. After a quick examination, Scalpel declared that he would need some spare parts to replace the ones destroyed in the battle of Mission City, and he ordered the death of the smallest Constructicon. Before Scrapmetal could protest, he was set upon by Long Haul and Mixmaster and beaten to death as they tore off the components needed to restore Megatron. Once these were attached, Scalpel struck Megatron with the shard, reviving the Decepticon leader. Scrapmetal's parts allowed Megatron to take the alternate mode of a Cybertronian tank with flight features. He may have been honored for all time for his sacrifice for the Decepticon cause. But probably not. Revenge of the Fallen (film)
Notes
*Hasbro had no idea that "ze little one" had a nickname and a following; they found the idea funny and noted that they liked to call him Scrapmetal, and hinted at working him in to a future toy release.
*The on-screen identity of Scrapmetal is a bit on the fraught side. In the flyover shot of the barge on which the four Constructicons sit, a red bulldozer (Rampage), a concrete mixer (Mixmaster), a dump truck (Long Haul) and a yellow front-end loader are visible. The yellow front-end loader is the alternate mode of the Constructicon Scrapper, and Scrapmetal's robot mode appears to be the same as Scrapper's. As such, the temptation to just consider this a Scrapper unit is great... except that, after the flyover shot, the yellow loader disappears, and is replaced with a yellow Volvo excavator, clearly marked with a large Decepticon insignia. Meanwhile, Hasbro have said Scrapmetal turns into a bulldozer...
**For the purposes of reducing headaches, we're assuming that the excavator is the "correct" vehicle mode, and that it just happens to transform into a robot mode that resembles Scrapper... even though it's not him.
*One abandoned Constructicon concept by artist Steve Jung was a "nurse" that would have transformed into a Volvo wheel loader. It is unknown if this character later evolved into Scrapmetal.
*Oddly enough, despite being referred to as "Ze little one", Scrapmetal is not the littlest Constructicon in the scene. Mixmaster clearly stands at only half of his height in the dismemberment scene.
*Seriously, they didn't just use the parts from the other already dead decepticons that were tossed in along with Megatron at the end of the first movie? What the heck, guys?

R.J. Blackrock is the owner and CEO of Blackrock Petroleum and Energy Concern. Though he has a habit of dressing casually, he's all business, and that business is making money. The arrival of a bunch of giant robots from space is just another opportunity for him to exploit. He is, in essence, the counterpart of Port C. Powell from Transformers Animated.

Fiction
Shattered Glass
Blackrock was so impressed by Sephie Beller's thesis on Cybertronian actuator mechanisms that he personally hired her to work in his R&D department. Shortly before a golfing match with Senator Shore, he called Sephie to his office to ask her to invite her Decepticon friends to the unveiling of his company's new Mega-Rig. During the unveiling, Blackrock's speech was interrupted by a group of Autobots led by Rodimus Prime. Blackrock and the other humans present headed for Blackrock's yacht, but Beller alerted them to the danger posed by Seaspray, and they instead took shelter within the rig.

Desiring the technology of the newcomers, Blackrock put a new plan into motion. He first made contact with Rodimus Prime at Arizona Bay, offering the Autobots unlimited fuel in exchange for technology and protection. Rodimus's interest was piqued. Blackrock arranged to meet them at an old pipe station near the bay. Next Blackrock contacted Beller to tell her that the Autobots were extorting oil from her, and to let the Decepticons know.

When both the Autobots and Decepticons turned up at the arranged place, Blackrock himself made an appearance, piloting the end result of Project Shieldbreaker: the Centurion armored mech. As the Decepticons had already been securely bound, Blackrock began fighting the Autobots. The Decepticons initially thought that he was there to help them, when Soundwave got free, Blackrock blasted him, explaining that he was after their Cybertronian technology. While the Autobots retreated, Beller attacked Blackrock, destabilizing the Centurion's hydrogen cells. Blackrock ejected the mech's control pod, however Beller carried the rest of the mech up into the air so its detonation wouldn't harm her friends, and the resulting explosion knocked the control pod out of the air. After it landed, he was surrounded by angry Decepticons with guns, but he pointed out that by human law he'd done nothing wrong, and it was the Decepticons who'd trespassed on his land and destroyed his equipment. Also, he informed Beller she was fired. Transhuman
