Another variation
Hmm, that's odd. The version of the DVD I have has the scrolling text, the "Optimus Prime will return" voiceover, AND the part where Spike lets an "oh shit" slip.

Shockwave
Did he die or what? I remember hearing that the original script EXPLICITLY says that he died when Unicron crushed the building he was in, but the actual finished movie is considerably more vague about this... -hx 13:53, 16 March 2006 (UTC)
:According to the TFTM script:

ANGLE ON CYBERTRON

Unicron enters shot and grasps at Cybertron with a hideous claw...

ANGLE ON A TOWER ON CYBERTRON

Shockwave talks into a communications device, as alarms sound and troopers run everywhere.

SHOCKWAVE:
Decepticons...we're under attack...Scramble -

Then his voice is cut off as...

SHOCKWAVE'S POV - OUT HIS WINDOW

Unicron's hand reaches towards the window, squeezes, and the walls crash in.

SPACE - UNICRON AND CYBERTRON

Unicron tears off the tower and crushes it as...

A FLEET OF DECEPTICON SHIPS

streak out of Cybertron and begin firing on the enormous planet.

Here, we see the true scale of Unicron. The fighters are the size of bees as they attack.

-- While Shockwave's character model sometimes appeared in the third season (once in grey, once in Constructicon Green), I'm not sure that a properly-colored Shockwave ever showed up post-movie - not that that would necessarily mean anything in light of Evil Zombie Brawn And Huffer from Carnage In C Minor. --Monzo 18:47, 16 March 2006 (UTC)

*That's pretty much what I figured. Shockwave kindasorta dies, and doesn't show up properly ever again, so you could argue that he's dead. -hx 19:43, 16 March 2006 (UTC)

He doesn't even kindasorta die in the final cut of the movie. He just has that one shot then we never see him again. No tower-crushy, no nothing. So it can really be argued either way. M "I'd Hesitate To Make A Call Either WAy" Sipher
The?
Shouldn't this article be called "The Transformers: The Movie"? That is the film's full title, isn't it? --KilMichaelMcC 06:39, 14 June 2006 (UTC)

Here's a question.
Do we really need the (1986) at the end of this? It's not like "Transformers: The Movie" redirects to a disambiguation page with this and the '07 movie, or that the '07 movie is titled something different. It just seems...redundant, don't you think? There's only 'one' TFTM, and this is it. That, and I highly doubt there's gonna be another "Transformers: The Movie" within the next five or even ten years--when this Wiki would, realistically, still be operating. So yeah. Shouldn't we can that?
:Transformers: The Movie (Marvel Comics) exists. As will "The Transformers: The Animated Movie (comic)" for the current adaptation when someone gets around to it. We do need to have a disambiguation system for them though. --ItsWalky 02:37, 28 November 2006 (UTC)
::I agree with the above, but am inclined to say this article still doesn't need a paranthetical in its title, it being far more prominant than the other Transformers: The Movies. Of course, the last time I moved an article that has disambiguation to the non-parenthetical location I got a bunch of people saying "WTF?" even though that's what Help:Disambiguation has said to do since I wrote it back at the dawn of time. (See "Talk:Constructicon".) --Steve-o 06:28, 28 November 2006 (UTC)
::Walky's point: Then I don't really see the relevance of the year. On top of that, all of those have different titles; there's no real conflict. It's kinda the same principle as Kremzeek and Kremzeek!. Just note that the reader may be looking for whatever at the top. :Though officially publishedd, the Aaustralian character bios are generally ignored because-- Bwuh?
:Hasbro/Dreamworks recently put out some bios of the movie characters-- describing half the cast in terms of their cartoon versions, including events that did not occur in the movie. At some point you have to say "no, there's no point in trying to integrate that."
If anyone who has time to kill or knows the language (preferably both!) wants to go through it to document any significant changes from the US version that we don't already have, that'd be great. I already noticed, watching the first part, that the Japanese version uses the "Star Wars" text-scroll of the UK version, though the narrator doesn't actually seem to be reading a translation of the text m- I caught him voicing a reference to Unicron the text doesn't have. And, skipping ahead, Grimlock appears to refer to his "me Grimlock kick butt" moment as his "Kick Attack". Erm.

There's also something I'd sort of like confirmed... I've heard a rumor that the Japanese-dubbed Junkions, instead of talking in TV quotes, all have Chinese accents. But I have no idea if it's true.
A list of every slight dialogue change would be...massive (especially since the dub added so much dialogue during scenes that were previously silent). Gears has a VA but doesn't speak, however, Scavenger (also voiced by Don Messick) clearly speaks on Junkion when he's attacking Danielle with Scrapper. Gears briefly appears in the movie on Moon Base 1, but has no speaking lines. I also wonder if this is why Prowl is credited (Bell also voiced Swopp who speaks on Quintessa), however, I believe Prowl had some lines in the original script that may have been recorded but not animated.

Jettison some weight
Why is this listed as confusing? Aside from the (common) misuse of weight for mass I see nothing weird here. The more mass there was on board Astrotrain, the more fuel that would be needed to push him to Cybertron. Therefor, dumping extra mass makes sense. Khajidha 16:47, 17 September 2009 (EDT)
:I agree. Astrotrain was just using common speech. People don't often say things like "jettison some mass". If Astrotrain says he needs to lighten up, it stands to reason it is because he is still accelerating and too much weight would make it more difficult to accelerate. He is still accelerating because when they threw the bodies overboard, they quickly fell back. If they had already reached top speed, they would just float along side Astrotrain. - Starfield 23:23, 17 September 2009 (EDT)
::Plus, how close is Cybertron to Earth? If the Decepts didn't want to settle down for a multi-year trip, Astrotrain must have been going FTL, at which point all bets about moving without burning fuel are off. - SanityOrMadness 23:26, 17 September 2009 (EDT)
:::But maneuvering to land later would be made at sublight, normal inertial conditions. Less mass would be useful then. Basically, less mass is always better for movement. Khajidha 04:23, 18 September 2009 (EDT)

:::How much fuel does it take to get from Cybertron to Earth, I wonder. The whole battle of Autobot city seems to take place over one night, and Optimus' shuttle makes it from Cybertron to Earth in that time, implying that both it and the hijacked Autobot shuttle were going faster than light speed. The whole reason the hijacked shuttle was going to Earth in the first place was to pick up more energy, ergo it must take much less than one shipload of energy to get a shuttle at FTL speeds from Cybertron to Earth and back. They either have really efficient FTL drives, or really efficient energy storage. Or both.
:::Of course we've seen that one energon cube is enough to get a full-sized Transformer drunk off his can, so perhaps it's the latter. --abates 05:00, 18 September 2009 (EDT)

:::There were several scenes in "Apollo 13" where the stranded astronauts in the capsule and their Houston support crew had to do all those calculations about the amount of weight (or mass, whatever) they could have in the capsule versus the amount of fuel they could burn in order to get home alive. Common sense understanding actually wins in this case, I think. Also, all bets are off as to how far Cybertron is from Earth in TFTM, considering "The Ultimate Doom". --Thylacine 2000 07:59, 18 September 2009 (EDT)
::::In Apollo 13, they did mass calculations to: 1) be able to escape Moon's gravity, 2) project a course to slingshot around the moon, 3) make any necessary course corrections. All of those are aspects of acceleration. In a constant velocity situation, jettisoning mass does not make you go any faster, as momentum is divided proportionally with mass. -Noviere 11:16, 18 September 2009 (EDT)
:::::It wasn't a constant velocity situation. If it were, when Starscream dropped Megatron out the door, Megatron would just float alongside. They were accelerating and more mass means more force needed to accelerate. - Starfield 11:21, 18 September 2009 (EDT)
::::::Which was already accounted for in the page, which essentially says "here are some speculations, but we don't really know what the hell was going on here". Nothing wrong with that. I'm just rebutting Thylacine's statement above. -Noviere 11:28, 18 September 2009 (EDT)
:::::::You added that they were going faster than light as a fact, but do we know that? I've never thought Transformers or even their dedicated starships could go FTL, hence the need for a space bridge. Cybertron moves around. Where was it in the Movie? - Starfield 11:58, 18 September 2009 (EDT)
::::::::Well, of COURSE they're going faster than light. Otherwise Quintessa and Junkion and Cybertron would all be in Earth's solar system. Just because you have FTL ships doesn't mean that instantaneous transportation isn't useful. I mean, we had horses, but cars are better even they they both provide transportation over land.--Jimsorenson 12:23, 18 September 2009 (EDT)
:::::::::For some reason I never thought about that before. It never looks like they are doing anything special to break the light barrier. I'm thinking scale is just as loose in the astronomical sense as it is in the Transformer sense. ;) So what happens if you throw a Transformer out the door of a ship traveling faster than light? Apparently nothing much. - Starfield 12:58, 18 September 2009 (EDT)
Cast Layout
The cast lay out has the Insecticons and Seekers listed next to their Unicronian counterpart. This is a major problem considering it lists Skywarp as Cyclonus and Bombshell as the Armada. Now, ignoring the fact that in all honesty the Skywarp is Cyclonus argument is based solely on people preferring it that way, surely the ambiguity should be recognised, and they should be listed as separate characters, but add in a note or something (especially since it gives him a VA when he didn't have any confirmed lines). Also, I think listing the Heralds next to their formers is very iffy when either the originals didn't speak in the movie or the new forms didn't speak. Now, I'd just go ahead and change it but I want to know what the official stance is here, cause it seems like an injection of fanon into a fairly major article. User:Eire 13.49 Jan 13 2010
:An anon user did that. He also went through a lot of trouble to put their order of appearance number in there, even though it is set to "nonumbering=true". Both changes could be reverted. Sorry anon guy. - Starfield 10:08, 13 January 2010 (EST)
Snarl
On the "four Dinobots" paragraph, it specifically mentions Swoop as the absent Dinobot whenever Snarl appears. However, Swoop is clearly the far-left Dinobot standing in the Quintesson ship window scene (the screen cap is actually on the page next to this paragraph). Are we sure it isn't Sludge thats missing, or maybe Sludge one time and Swoop another time?
:At the scene in Autobot City where Snarl appears, the other Dinobots present are the original trio, Grimlock, Slag, and Sludge. When Snarl next appears, Swoop is present, and you are correct, it seems to be Sludge who isn't in that shot (however, he is in the one immediately following). I believe it should be rewritten to something akin to "When he does appear, another Dinobot is missing. Hmm." Either way, it's somewhat interesting that all the Dinobots are never on screen at the same time. --NCZ 17:05, 10 April 2010 (EDT)
Big find! Jim Sorenson has made the original Ron Friedman script available
At http://boltax.blogspot.com

I started this thread for discussion at tfw2005 as well: http://www.tfw2005.com/boards/transformers-news-rumors/347571-early-ron-friedman-draft-tftm-available-download.html

There is a LOT of material that could enrich this article, particularly in the "Notes" section. Not to mention Friedman's own article, since we now have a better idea of what he contributed.

It's well worth a read. Certainly wasn't suitable to be the finished film, due to extreme length, some super-clunky dialogue, and the fact that the plot just kind of falls apart toward the end.

The imagery is really something though, a lot of ideas that never made it into any future Transformers project. The battle scenes are also noticeably more graphic. Probably the biggest (and oddest) change is no Matrix, and the concept substituted is the "Life Spark" of Optimus himself. The Life Sparks of other Decepticons and Megatron also play a role (you can likely guess how). 97.77.78.14

SO I DON'T FORGET
potential questions for hasbro in the future:
* <s>(for the entire TF team) The TF brand has presented hundreds, if not thousands of weird and wonderful characters over the last 25 years. Who are, respectively, your most and least favorite characters from TF history? (C'mon, be honest. We'll understand if you secretly hate Grapple.)</s>
* Over the years, the TF brand has featured many fun and memorable play features, from rub signs to triple changers to Action Masters. For the entire TF team: What are your favorite play gimmicks, aside from transformation itself?
* <s>We know that due to changes in toy safety laws, we're never getting a realistic hand-gun Megatron ever again. We've heard that the "spark-shooting" action found on some G1 toys is a similar situation. Can you confirm that the spark-shooting feature is no longer a possibility? Are there any other "classic" gimmicks we're unlikely to see in the future because of legal/safety concerns? </s>
* The unreleased Robot Heroes "Dessaras" figure - why was that name chosen? Did "Deathsaurus" fail to clear legal or were there other concerns (retailers/parents/children not wanting to buy a toy with the word "Death" in its name, "Deathsaurus" being an admittedly goofy moniker, etc.)
* In regards to store exclusives, how much input does the retail partner have into the finished product? Is it "give us X figures at price point Y" or is it more hands-on than that - "give us an Autobot car and a Decepticon jet, and the Autobot should be in such-and-such a color scheme..."
* <s>At one point near the end of the Alternators sub-line, a major retailer's computer system listed several toys that never saw the light of day - Megatron as a Cadillac, as well as repaints of the Scion and Mustang molds. Who were the Scion and Mustang intended to be, if they even got to that stage of development?</s> (No.)
* <s>(for the entire TF team) Fun/silly question: If you could make a Transformer toy of anything in the world that hasn't ALREADY been a Transformers toy, what would it be? You can be as specific (1974 AMC Javelin, P-38 Lightning, Cobra HISS) or as general (school bus, tractor, port-a-potty) as you wish.</s> (You know, whatever.)
* <s>Based on past releases, it seems to be possible to repair older molds to restore detail lost with repeated use. Specifically, the G1 Jazz mold appears to have had its face detail corrected between the 2003 U.S. reissue and the 2004 release of the mold as Ricochet. Are there limits to how much damage can be repaired, or is it just a matter of whether it's economically feasible to repair a mold?</s> (Yes.)
** <s>Recent releases of the Classics Starscream mold seem to be showing some degree of mold wear and tear from use. Are there any plans to repair or re-cut the mold to restore its clarity? </s> (Maybe.)
* Regarding the larger, transformable, Titanium Series figures: Is it possible to manufacture these figures using plastic instead of die-cast, or would using plastic potentially limit the durability, integrity, or stability of the finished product?
* <s>Can you guys please ask around over at Tomy and find out who's writing the story materials for the Alternity line? There are a bunch of great callouts to U.S. fiction going on over there, and we'd like to give credit where credit is due.</s> NEVER MIND.
* During the "Unicron Battles" era of the Armada toy-line, packaged samples of redecoed versions of the Adventure, Space, and Street Speed Mini-Con teams appeared on various auction sites. Why were these items never released commercially?
* <s>It's understood that Hasbro now owns the intellectual property related to the Tonka GoBots - but exactly how much does Hasbro own? Could we see a DVD release of "Challenge of the GoBots"? Is it possible that the GoBots stories could one day be retroactively integrated into TF continuity, much as M.A.S.K. was retroactively inserted into GIJoe's via the Matt Trakker figure?</s> (Not really.)
* <s>Is there an industry term for the various catalogs, flyers, DVDs, comics and other materials sometimes packaged in with Transformers figures? (All the stuff that isn't the instruction sheet, effectively.)</s> (Not really, apparently!)
* <s> It's great to see obscure characters from the early Transformers media get official identities, like Acid Storm. Are there official identities for the other "Rainmakers" seen alongside him in the cartoon episode "Divide and Conquer"? (Some fans claim that Sunstorm is the yellow one, but the blue guy definitely has no name.)</s> (No.)
* <s>At various points, licensees like Marvel Comics and some of the Japanese-market publication have held "Create a Transformer" contests. Does Hasbro/Tomy own the rights to characters generated in such contests, and if so, could we ever see, say, Sunbender or Star Upper again?</s> (Maybe.)
* <s>As far back as the original 1984 toyline, we've seen Transformer characters referred to as "brothers," as well as relationships like "cousins" and even a "great-aunt Arcee." Can you explain how robots can have "brothers," much less "cousins"?</s> (Later.)
* <s>Can you give us any information on the production house that's doing the Transformers: Cyber Missions webisodes? Who are they? Where do they come from? What do they want to do with their lives?</s>
* <s>So Megatron has already been inducted into the Transformers Hall of Fame. Does that mean that Galvatron is already in the Hall of Fame too, or would he have to be voted in by fans?</s> (No.)
* The instruction art for multiple recent toys depict head toolings that are presumably intended for a later release of the mold (i.e., War for Cybertron Bumblebee's instruction art is drawn with the head of the forthcoming Cliffjumper figure). Is there a particular reason for this? A reward or sneak peek for eagle-eyed fans? Is it so you can readily reuse the instruction art later, or what?
* It's really cool how current Generations/Reveal the Shield product is being designed with future retools in mind - the alternate heads and gear go a long way towards creating the image of a completely new character. Is there any chance you can tell us what retool you have in mind for Reveal the Shield Jazz? it's worth a shot - that's how we found out about Generations Blurr...
* The instruction art for multiple recent toys depict head toolings that are presumably intended for a later release of the mold. Notably, Generations Thunderwing's art has a new head and chest that seem to be inspired by the Japanese Generation One character "Black Shadow." Is this actually the case? If so, will he still have the original figure's characterization of a gangster/mafioso type? (Because if so, that is SO AWESOME.)
* There is a quasi-urban rumor floating around the fandom that the 2006 "Classics" Megatron figure cannot be re-released in the United States due to changes in various safety regulations. Can you confirm or deny this?
* PROBABLY SOMETHING TO ASK AT BOTCON OR SOMEWHERE LESS FORMAL: In the past, as various third party fan manufacturers have produced items based on the Transformers IP, Hasbro & Takara have swiftly put out product on the market featuring similar permutations of the IP (i.e. Universe Wheelie, Cyclonus, and Powerglide all hitting shelves shortly after the limited Jizaitoys releases). This seems like a conscious decision on the part of the TF brand - why? Is it seen as a kind of "design-off" or friendly challenge? Is it to offer collectors official versions of those characters as opposed to "bootlegs"? Or is it a simple case of IP protection?
* AGAIN, SOMETHING TO ASK AT BOTCON OR SOMEWHERE: Does Hasbro distinguish between third-party items meant to modify or improve pre-existing official product (i.e., fan-made accessory packs that require the user to already own official product) and completely new third-party products that stand alone?
* ONE MORE LIKE THIS: As you are probably aware, there are groups in Asia who are producing unofficial versions of Transformer product that Hasbro has proven unwilling or incapable of producing (i.e., Generation 1 toys where the original molds are believed to be lost or destroyed). If it were possible to secure those toolings (via legal action, for instance), would you be willing to produce official releases of said items?
* Regarding the Hall of Fame: Optimus Prime and Megatron are already inducted into the HOF. Does that induction include Optimus Primal and Predacon Megatron, or are they separate characters for this purpose?

*FOR THE MARVEL TEAM: <s>The packaging for the Marvel Transformers says Iron Man and Mr. Fantastic built the battlesuits using "alien technology." Were those aliens the Transformers? If so, was it an information exchange, or a gift, or did they cut up a bunch of Decepticon corpses and see what they could make of them? (The thought of them cutting up Autobot corpses is a bit much!)</s>
There was, and it was. It was at Bata, I believe. I can summarize it for you real quick - it was a brief history of the company from wikipedia, a plot synopsis of the commercial with discussion of the weird unique animation errors (oddly colored Cyclonus and Jazz, IIRC) and then a bit about the shoes themselves that I got from a Chilean friend - they were plain black leather shoes that you'd wear with a school uniform. No actual TF markings on the shoes, just the boxes. They promoted the same shoes with other franchises in similar ways. ==New continuity family!==
Hey, remember when I said WFC/Prime is probably Primax? Well, I lied! After BotCon's flurry of information I think it's going to have to be its own thing. Not only because, well, it deserves to be, but because it will make our lives a lot easier and our pages a lot clearer. Back when the movie came out, we also considered making THAT G1, but declined when we realized the sheer amount of material and focus would make it impractical. The same here. Also, comments from Aaron Archer put the new continuity in perspective.

He ALSO doesn't like calling it "Prime," since that's not what he wants to call it, but it's all we got at the moment. He doesn't have a name for this new continuity (family), but is trying to think of one eventually. So, uh, in the meantime, I think we're stuck with calling it "Prime." Dem's the breaks until we get a time machine and can ask 2012 Aaron Archer or whatever. --ItsWalky 11:01, 29 June 2010 (EDT)
:Yeah, EVERYTHING was already pointing in the way of a new continuity family, so I'm glad the wiki now has the green light to separate this stuff. :::I concur completely. This seems very much like a new continuity, albeit with very strong G1 and Movie influences, though the Unicron Trilogy and Animated get some characters and ideas dropped in as well.--Jimsorenson 12:22, 29 June 2010 (EDT)
::::As I said on Transformers: War for Cybertron ":I'm beginning to wonder if the "G1 continuity family" is heading towards collapse under its own weight. I'm not sure there will ever be another franchise that isn't "terribly G1y" in the future. The discussion a few years back about whether Movie and Animated belonged in their own continuity families, the synthetic nature of the Hall of Fame bios, the integration of Mini-Cons into G1 universes, all point towards a blending effect in TF universes." --Khajidha 12:42, 29 June 2010 (EDT)
While Archer may not like calling it "Prime," that would seem to be the parenthetical if we follow the same protocol we did for the Unicron Trilogy. Franchise of origin and all. ::::I tend to think (Prime) is the best suffix we'll get, since we normally use franchise and Prime seems like the most likely candidate to be the franchise name. == Help! Paradox! ==

Could someone please explain to me how War For Cybertron fits in the Prime Universe. I have a whole list of paradoxs:

*Megatron:In WFC, he was a tank, while in Prime, he was a jet. In WFC, Megatron new how to control dark energon, and used it often, but in Prime, he did not fuse it with his spark until he arrived on Earth.
*Starscream: First, his color scheme is different, in WFC, he is G1 like, but in Prime, he is movie like. Also, in The Darkness Rising Part 2, Starscream acted as if he hadn't came in contact with Dark Energon, but heard about it. However, the WFC Starscream knew exactly what Dark Energon does, and wants to learn how to weild it.
*Soundwave: Soundwave in WFC is like G1, with Laserbeak, Rumble, Frenzy, however in Prime, he is quiet, doesn' talk much,
(and even then, he just repeats recordings of what others have said) and only has 1 drone (Ratbat, i beleive his name is now.
*Ratchet:Rachet in WFC new what Drak Energon was, for it was alover Cybertron and Optimus pointed it out. In Prime, though, he says Dark Energon is so rare, its existence is doughted.
*Bumblebee:In WFC, he can talk and has a mouth, but in prime, he cannot talk. (Similar to his movie version.)
*Cliffjumper: In WFC, heis basicallya retool of Bumblebee, but in Prime, he is his own mold.
*Arcee: In WFC, she is like er G1 counterpart (and is a pink car), but the prime version is more like the movie version, and somewhat of a ninja. (And is a blue motercycle.)
*Dark Energon: In WFC, it was said it corrupts and destroys. But in Prime, it has the power to revive the dead. It is all over cybertron in WFC, and heck, even the Core of Cybertron is corrupted with it. But in Prime, it is apperently "so rare", how was it found on cybertron? Better yet in WFC, why was it being manufactured? (WARNING!!! SPOLIER ALERT!!! SPOLIERS UP AHEAD!!! STOP READING IF YOU DON'T LIKE SPOILERS!!!! WARNING!!!) and Prime, why is Megaton trying to ressurct ever dead cybertronian on Cybertron? Couldn't he have just done that in WFC?

Some clarification would be great. Also, I know the whole "Scanning alt mode" thing could change the way they look, but in the Prime comic, they still look the same in Cybertrnian form. Please help clarify some things.LordDalek 10:02, 3 December 2010 (EST)
::::We don't need a reason. Characters changing their altmode is not some strange new thing that's unique to Megatron (Prime). G1 Megs went from gun to cannon to nothing to tank, back to gun, sometimes a car... UT Megs went from tank to spaceship to dragster/jet triple changer to... dinosaur. And Movie Megs has been both a tank and a jet. And all this is beside the point that we have been handed down an official reason in WFC Megatron's tech spec bio. But I don't know If you read my comment but I tried to end this whole paradox conversation. Ok, I confused something big whoop.

== Help! Paradox!

Once you get to the end of the book and Sentinel dies, Optimus gets the Matrix then, and Alpha Trion notes that Prime wasn't truly a Prime until this moment, regardless of what the council said. In the game it's mentioned Optimus first refused to be a Prime, which is why he doesn't have the title (whether or not this landed Zeta the job is unclear since the way they word it at times I may almost think they could have several Primes at once) and the Matrix is unrelated to the Council and the Prime title they bestow.Bobbington 08:42, 30 June 2010 (EDT)
:::::Why don't we just change the opening to "The young bot who would become Optimus Prime" rather than have it at Optimus or Orion Pax, and wait until Prime premiers and see if it ever goes with one or the other?
Profile Should Be Rewritten
The Character profile here right now is all Exodus stuff. But almost all of it is stuff that is totally different in WfC. The Character profiles are supposed to be generic and fit all version of the character. I think this one needs to be moved to the Exodus sub-section and a new more general Prime (Prime) (that's fun) profile written, Yes?--ZacWilliam 08:57, 3 July 2010 (EDT)
:I agree, it's a bit too specific about the Exodus stuff considering what a big deal WFC is as a form of Prime media. I believe the reason it totally lacks WFC stuff is because Walky wrote it and apparently hasn't played WFC yet. ::I wouldn't jump to conclusions right now. Videogames based on franchises tend to get retconned, like what happened to the Ultimate Spider-Man video game. Also, the show has been described as a mix of Animated and Live-Action films, which the game doesn't really reflect. So yeah, I've been suggesting this for a while, and this goes for all WFC (including Exodus) articles, which we're really treating as a separate franchise now we've gone with Aligned as the continuity family's name for now. Alientraveller 05:02, 28 February 2011 (EST)
:I disagree with moving this article, because WFC isn't really a separate franchise. It's some tie-in games that Hasbro licensed to launch their new continuity with. ::Right now I can see two distinct reasons beyond "no" (this isn't a poll actually). One, WFC is no less a franchise than Power Core Combiners, and it was a game accompanied by a novel, a comic and toys. At one point Prime toys were going to be released as Generations, but it's still a Transformers franchise. Afterall, Tracks was released as part of the unsubtitled range last year, but he's still a G1 character.
::Chris, I know how you feel about moving it to (WFC) as Prime is where we're really getting to know these characters, that's why we have the Prime designs as the main images. If you are for uniformity, perhaps it is time to move Optimus Prime (Movie) to "Optimus Prime (LVF)", and this to "Optimus Prime (Aligned)"?
::Regardless, I will be adding WFC Autobots and Decepticons cats to these pages. Alientraveller 09:45, 28 February 2011 (EST)
:::Remember "a foolish consistency is the hobgoblin of little minds", or in more wiki-related terms "in situations where the standards intended to prevent confusion would instead contribute to it, common sense should rule." That's why all the Shattered Glass characters are at (SG) even though some of them are technically (Timelines).--Khajidha 12:12, 28 February 2011 (EST)
So I don't like "Optimus Prime (Prime)." Categorizing Aligned things by franchise might be obsolete. The toyline is no longer organized by franchise.
