He makes a habit of pulling ridiculously huge guns from nowhere and attacking impulsively despite orders or sanity. Somehow, this gets him neither killed nor demoted.

Cliffjumper's special weapon is his "glass gas", which embrittles metals on contact so that they shatter like glass. He is not immune to its effects, so its use requires careful consideration of wind direction. Actually, this may explain why he prefers the big guns. Cliffjumper was a part of the crew on board the Ark when it crashed into Earth four million years ago while clearing an asteroid field in the path of Cybertron. He was deactivated for a while during Shockwave's occupation of the Ark, but was repaired without incident when Ratchet reclaimed it.

However, the head of Optimus Prime was still missing, and during an attempt to retrieve it, an impostor head took control of Prime's body, firing on Cliffjumper. Presumably repaired, he later participated in the Dinobot Hunt, along with Gears and Windcharger. Although they found Sludge, immediately thereafter all three were captured by the Decepticons. They were rescued by Bumblebee.

Cliffjumper was a part of the crew onboard the Ark when it crashed into Earth four million years ago during a search for new energy sources. His alt mode was reformatted into an oddly proportioned Porsche 924 Turbo.

When the Autobots awakened from their four million-year slumber, Cliffjumper was eager for action. He volunteered to tag along on Hound's recon mission to scout out Decepticons because he was itching to "boot some Decepticon right in his turbocharger." Though Optimus Prime's orders were only to find the Decepticons, Cliffjumper brashly tried to engage the enemy once Hound sniffed them out.

Cliffjumper missed his shot, and the Decepticons dispatched Laserbeak to chase off the Autobot eavesdroppers. Hound got pasted by Laserbeak's laser blasts and ended up requiring extensive repair from Autobot medic Ratchet after being pulled out of a ditch by Hauler. It worked out in the end, though, since Cliffjumper was remorseful for having acted without thinking, and Hound didn't hold a grudge anyway. More Than Meets the Eye, Part 1

Soon afterwards, Cliffjumper made a very public display of his paranoia by accusing fellow Autobot and reluctant soldier Mirage of being a traitor on some very flimsy evidence, much to the (correct) disbelief of the other Autobots. He kept up his rhetoric even after Optimus Prime ordered him to can it. So determined was he to prove his theory true that he followed Mirage when the latter returned to the Decepticon power station to sow seeds of discontent within the Decepticon ranks. Fortunately, in the end it was proven that Mirage was a loyal Autobot all along, and Cliffjumper fell across Mirage's body, asking Ratchet to fix. This prompted a rather awkward laugh from the present Autobots. Traitor

Cliffjumper was a part of the crew onboard the Ark when it crashed into Earth four million years ago while clearing an asteroid in the path of Cybertron.

He was one of many Transformers captured and reprogrammed by arms dealer Adam 'Lazarus' Rook for lease to terrorist organisations and shady governments requiring brutal military might. Fortunately, Autobots under the command of Optimus Prime repaired and re-reprogrammed Cliffjumper and the remaining captive Autobots. Immediately, they were put to work on fighting Megatron's metallic virus, which had spread deep into Canadian territory, using their own internal power as the anti-virus. Prime Directive, Part 5

As Cliffjumper collapsed into the snow out of exhaustion, the Canadian military arrived. Unfortunately, due to the recent attacks by both enslaved Autobots and Decepticons under the command of Rook, the Canadians attempted to stop the Autobots doing what they percieved to be an attack on their soil. Knowing that the virus feed upon weapons fire, Cliffjumper tried to stop a tank crew from causing further harm by bending the tank's main gun. The commander panicked, thinking Cliffjumper was attacking and fired, destroying himself and seriously damaging the Autobot. Prime Directive, Part 6

In "the Great Car Rally", a bunch of humans set up a race for charity. The victor would received a year's supply of oil and gasoline. Well, the Decepticons desperately wanted that bounty, so rather than just steal it, they decided to sneak into the race. Cliffjumper was one of the Autobots driving in the rally and was unaware that the scary black Cadillac was actually being driven by Megatron. Megatron dogged Cliffjumper for quite a while but ended up losing to the Minibot. Cliffjumper won the race and everybody smiled, even Optimus Prime.
Generation 1
*Cliffjumper (Mini-Vehicle, 1984)
: Japanese ID number: 13

: Cliffjumper was part of the initial series of 1984 Autobots. His mold was originally used to make a Microchange "MC-04 #01 Porsche 924 Turbo", a cutesified 'Penny Racer' style representation of the real car. In the original Japanese release, this figure was available in red, yellow, and blue. For the first series Transformers release, there were common instances of the yellow version of Cliffjumper and the red version of Bumblebee being sold at US retail. This lead to some confusion about the two characters, especially if the toys were found without their packaging.

: Like the other first series Minibots, Cliffjumper was released in many different color schemes by the companies who licensed Transformers for South American countries.

: This mold was retooled to make Hubcap. He should not be confused with Bumper, who was erroneously packaged on Cliffjumper cards.

*Cliffjumper (Keychain Mini-Vehicle, 2001/2003/2007)
: Released in the US by Fun4All at the same time as a 'keychain' Bumblebee, this was a slight remold of the first Cliffjumper toy which added a loop to the back bumper for a keychain attachment. In 2003, Takara released all four of the remolded 'keychain' Minibots (Cliffjumper, Bumblebee, Windcharger, and Brawn) for the Japanese market in their original decos and in exclusive all-black coloration. Early in 2007, Hasbro re-released the 'keychain' Mini-Vehicles for the US under the "Heroes of Cybertron" sub-line.

: This mold was redecoed into Tap-Out.

One of the four toys given out during a 1984 promotion, came in four differnt colors Red, Yellow, Blue and Green. The toy was an statue in Robot Mode, only given out for a short time in St. Louis as a test run.
Cliffjumper hates traitors. And anybody could be a traitor. Therefore, Cliffjumper hates everybody. It's unclear if he hates traitors more than he hates Decepticons, but it's at least a neck-and-neck thing.

(Note: Italicized text occurs exclusively in the UK comics.)

He was one of the observers to Blaster and Grimlock's battle on the moon. How he fared in the following Decepticon attack is unknown, but he's never seen again.

Animated continuity
Voice Actor: Casey Kasem (US), Takurō Kitagawa (Japan)

Traitor

While pursuing Nightbird, the female robot ninja built to benefit mankind, Cliffjumper was the only Autobot unable to jump up the cliff after her. Ironic. Enter the Nightbird

Dreamwave Comics continuity

Marvel Books Big Looker Storybook continuity
In "the Great Car Rally", a bunch of humans set up a race for charity. The victor would received a year's supply of oil and gasoline. Well, the Decepticons desperately wanted that bounty, so rather than just steal it, they decided to sneak into the race. Cliffjumper was one of the Autobots driving in the rally and was unaware that the scary black Cadillac was actually being driven by Megatron. Megatron dogged Cliffjumper for quite a while but ended up losing to the Minibot. Cliffjumper won the race and everybody smiled, even Optimus Prime.

He was one of the observers to Blaster and Grimlock's battle on the moon. How he fared in the following Decepticon attack is unknown, but he's never seen again.

Traitor

While pursuing Nightbird, the female robot ninja built to benefit mankind, Cliffjumper was the only Autobot unable to jump up the cliff after her. Ironic. Enter the Nightbird
Dreamwave Comics continuity

Cliffjumper hates traitors. And anybody could be a traitor. Therefore, Cliffjumper hates everybody. It's unclear if he hates traitors more than he hates Decepticons, but it's at least a neck-and-neck thing.

He doesn't seem like the calculating type.
:Cliffjumper is an Autobot in the Generation 1 continuity family.

[[Image:Cliffjumperg1.jpg|right|thumb|300px|not only is He is president of the redeco club, he is also a member.(Ultra Magnus is the vice-president!)

Cliffjumper hates traitors. And anybody could be a traitor. Therefore, Cliffjumper hates everybody. It's unclear if he hates traitors more than he hates Decepticons, but it's at least a neck-and-neck thing.

He doesn't seem like the calculating type.

Marvel Comics continuity
(Note: Italicized text occurs exclusively in the UK comics.)

He was one of the observers to Blaster and Grimlock's battle on the moon. How he fared in the following Decepticon attack is unknown, but he's never seen again.

Animated continuity
Voice Actor: Casey Kasem (US), Takurō Kitagawa (Japan)

Traitor

While pursuing Nightbird, the female robot ninja built to benefit mankind, Cliffjumper was the only Autobot unable to jump up the cliff after her. Ironic. Enter the Nightbird

Dreamwave Comics continuity

Classics
*Cliffjumper (Deluxe, 2006/2007)
This "Wave Crusher" trailer/jet-ski transforms into a flight-pack that clips onto Cliffjumper's back.
::In a G1 episode called Traitor (funnily enough), Cliffjumper accuses Mirage of being a traitor on some pretty spurious evidence and becomes obsessed with this notion for the rest of the episode (even Prime's telling him to pack it in). The start of Dreamwave's second miniseries had him accusing Mirage of the same thing, and just like before the other Autobots aren't really joining him. For parts of online fandom, it's probably even more famous thanks to the parodic exaggeration of it in Transformers: World's Worst. --Ratbat 07:35, 13 April 2007 (UTC)
Brawl could have easily been named Overkill, if you ask me. His toy has an amount of weapons that border on goofy: His spring loaded cannon on his right arm, the fact that it can swivel 180 to reveal a more accurate to his design Gatling Gun molding, his behind the back secondary guns, his shoulder mounted missile launchers, his twin claw, AND the anti-personal cannon molded onto the twin claw's base. Opened, or screened? Because if it was a pre-screening, it may have been a rough cut of the movie-- several decepticons' names were changes later in production, and Devastator was an early name for Brawl.
Hey I just saw the movie on June 29th in a sneak preview in columbus ohio and they called him Devastator. And it seemed like scenes were missing from the movie

:I'm a little confused as to why "Devastator" isn't noted as a mistaken when the only place it appears is a single subtitle line in the actual movie whilst "Brawl" appears on... everything else ever. ::"Forced mistake"? If he intended to call the tank Devastator and he called it Devastator, I'm not seeing the mistake. It's clearly different from every other appearance, but unless we're going to make a big deal about how purple cartoon Rumble is a mistake, there's no reason to make it sound like someone didn't know what his name was. "Brawl" is clearly the most parsimonious name for the page, but that doesn't change the fact that his name is Devastator in the movie. -67.149.204.113 04:44, 4 July 2007 (UTC)
Maybe if the stuff you said was funny, no one would have a problem with it, but most of the jokes on here are pretty lame, it's not about transformers fans being serious, it's about your jokes being bad. When other people try to put there humor in it, you erase it. Sooooo make the jokes funny and you wont have to worry about it. Besides the Real Wikipedia has more information on transformers than the one dedicated to transformers have, what gives. Maybe before you work on your lame jokes you can fill out the information on the article. Sorry just what I think about it, don't take to much offence.
Older discussion
This front page needs to be redesigned to be more useful.

One problem is that it claims to have a list of categories, but it's actually a list of pages that list other pages. "Categories" have a special meaning in MediaWiki related to adding category tags at the bottom of an article. The main page's link to a "complete category list" is the real category list, as understood by the wiki's database. The lists... need to be called something else.

I do think it's useful to have links on the front page linking to lists of toylines, TV shows, comic series/publishers, etc.. It just needs to be presented differently. I don't at the moment have a good idea for how to do it, though.
:::If Timelines is the continuity of the club comic (not actually a given), don't the events of that series, which now have been linked to the events of the Universe comic, put them together? The fact that Prime and Magnus have been explicitly pulled from one group to another shouldn't make too much difference here, since both are explicitly continuity-hopping continuities. (uhh, yeah.)--G.B. Blackrock 18:26, 22 April 2006 (UTC)
::::I've always disagreed with Steve's take on the Continuities page that the fan club comic is a Timelines story. As has been said, Timelines is just a sequence of unrelated story branch-offs, and the fan club comic takes place in the Cybertron cartoon universe. (It's LABELLED a Cybertron story, not Timelines, so that much should be obvious.) Timelines is definitely its own thing. --ItsWalky 02:18, 23 April 2006 (UTC)
::There also IS a legal issue involved as well, but I'm not sure on the details involved. I suppose it doesn't matter too much, and maybe we should treat Timelines as a sequel to Universe? - Vanguard

Timelines and Universe are unrelated. Universe refers to a very specific cross-multiverse battle between agents of Primus and Unicron in direct confrontation. Timelines is just off-continuity one-shot stories with vague connections (if any) to whatever jumping-off point they feel like. 2006's "Timelines" entry may very well have no relation to 2005's whatsoever, or 2007... as such, they should remain separate. --M Sipher 21:08, 22 April 2006 (UTC)

A possible cause for confusion may be that the fan club comic appears to share continuity with the Universe story. However, the fan club comic is, strangely, not "Transformers Timelines" but is simply called "Transformers Cybertron". So far the only Timelines story is what we got at BotCon 2005. --Steve-o 21:28, 22 April 2006 (UTC)
General informalness
I don't get it. What's with all the lame picture captions and lazy informal writing?

*Picture caption jokes are one of the fun traditions of this wiki and are not to be replaced by anything except even funnier picture captions. The informal writing style is just how we do things here. As long as the information is acurate there's no reason to be boring about it. Toys are meant to be fun. :)

Most of the time, though, the writing style is fairly formal if the article is properly written. If it's just a quick summary thrown in to fill space in lieu of a more detailed write-up that'll be done some time in the future, yeah... shockingly enough, we like to have a bit of fun when we're writing about the giant robot aliens with lasers. - Chris McFeely 15:50, 10 March 2007 (UTC)

90% of the time picture captions aren't needed. "A picture of Slugslinger." Well DUH, it's the main picture on Slugslinger's article. Jokes became acceptable to fill that space- they're often puns on character names, or in-jokes about their appearances, but often not.<br/>
When a descriptive caption is actually needed, it should not be removed.

As for informal... articles tend to get more refined and serious as they get older and more complete (Well, except Wheelie's.) The informal gets smoothed out of 'em. Hey Guys, Was wondering if you were going to put anything on the home page about the movie launching tonight? I was going to put this wiki in the spotlight starting Friday to promote it, but I think its needs a more recognizable logo so people will click on it.

::Sort of? Timelines is basically a spin of of Universe in... another Universe. It'll probably be easier to keep it its own continuity for clarity's sake. - Vanguard

:::In any event, if we're talking "for clarity's sake," I find it clearer to have fewer titles to follow, rather than more. Perhaps you see it differently.--G.B. Blackrock 18:27, 22 April 2006 (UTC)

:I expect that we'll see that "Timelines" is the line they release the next "freebie" under when it finally arrives. Time will tell on that. For the moment, you're quite right. I'm still not sure I agree with M Sipher above, but it seems clear that I'm outvoted. So be it.--[[User:G.B. Blackrock|G.B. The info that Timelines is intended to be a series of unconnected, standalone tales comes from conversations with Ben Yee and Karl Hartman. They, like Legends, are all basically "what if" stories. --M Sipher 02:03, 23 April 2006 (UTC)
If Timelines is just going to be a bunch of random stories without regard to continuity, then it sounds like it probably wouldn't be too appropriate to have it listed under Continuities on the main page. == General informalness ==

:::You know, I've been on record as not caring for the level of humor here, but even I have to agree with this. Especially in captions, some humor is perfectly fine. ==A suggestion==

I was thinking it might be an ok idea to add weapons/ability sections to the character profiles, with stuff about what kind of arms a transformer has, or special abilities or such User:GWolf
:That tends to go in their initial bio section... if they've only had one incarnation.
:Weapons/abilities is fine for, say, Springer, but what abotu Grimlock? He's had 18 bodoes, all with different abilities. -Derik 21:39, 11 April 2007 (UTC)
::Or guys like Optimus Primal, who have had multiple VERY different bodies. From three-wheeled groundcar to ape to skyboarding metal ape to groundcar/jet/ape to technorganic ape to technorganic Cyber-Key skyboarding ape... and throw in a bat-form.... --M Sipher 01:27, 12 April 2007 (UTC)
External Properties
Should this be made a subcategory of Characters? Far as I know everything in it's a character except the G.I. Joe Snow Cat. --Rotty 04:03, 12 May 2007 (UTC)
:Thus proving it does not belong in characters. -Derik 04:16, 12 May 2007 (UTC)
:The AT-RT won't be a character, nor will any of the Joe/Cobra vehicles. The SWTF pages are iffy, since they're both character AND Vehicle pages for the most part. The Avengers crossover will likely give us a few non-character additions as well. --69.134.228.186 04:17, 12 May 2007 (UTC)

The only other option is for it to be added to Top-level categories, yes? (Incidentally, the AT-RT doesn't have a page, just the Clone Pilot.) --Rotty 04:26, 12 May 2007 (UTC)
Movie Nav Box
The navigation box we have for Movie pages really needs an overhaul. Especially now that we have four Online games (not counting the Sector 7 Hungry Dragon thing) and the nav box points to Battle for the Allspark as THE online game. What should we do with it? --Rotty 00:59, 7 June 2007 (UTC)
Featured Article for July
What should we start polishing up to be next month's Featured Article? It needs to be something relevant for people finding this site after seeing the movie? How about Bumblebee (G1), as it covers the history behind the film's most prominent robot? --Rotty 21:53, 11 June 2007 (UTC)

Is no one up to filling out Bumblebee's Dreamwave, Legends anthology, Dreamwave Transformers/GI Joe, Devil's Due, or Hearts of Steel sections? I'm poking around to see who would be relevant as a featured article for while the movie's out if we're not up to completing Bumblebee... -Rotty 05:55, 22 June 2007 (UTC)
::: Megatron's pretty close. I think we just need some filling out of his cartoon exploits. --ItsWalky 02:36, 23 June 2007 (UTC)

:::: He needs TF/G.I. Joe, G.I. Joe vs. TF, and Hearts of Steel filled out too. -Rotty 02:52, 23 June 2007 (UTC)
=== Movie Launch==

Hey Guys, Was wondering if you were going to put anything on the home page about the movie launching tonight? I was going to put this wiki in the spotlight starting Friday to promote it, but I think its needs a more recognizable logo so people will click on it.
