Since the dub of Sgt. Frog got a mention to Transformers for the character Angol Mois, I thought it would be fitting if we change one of the captions to one of her quotes. So... okay, as described in Exodus, Dark Energon is essentially Angolmois as described by someone who didn't bother to research and find that yes, this has been done already. Its origins are identical, its effects are relatively similar, it's a macguffin that will turn the tide of the war, etc. etc.

And given the nature of the Japanese language, it seems they were trying to approximate a sound-alike word from another language.
