Gold Plastic Syndrome (commonly shorthanded to GPS) is fandom terminology used to describe the phenomenon of a toy's plastic decomposing and becoming brittle to the point of shattering or crumbling under minimal-stress conditions. This is different from the relatively more common stress-fracture type of plastic breakage that can occur in some Transformers toys. All noted instances of GPS have occurred in hard, glossy gold-colored plastics that appear to have a "swirl" to their coloration.

Notability
GPS is notably widespread among toys made in the tail-end of Generation 1, typically the second year of Pretenders and even some European-market exclusives, but examples have surfaced from lines as recent as Generation 2 and the Beast Wars series. Transformers toys are not the only ones to suffer from this; there have been reports of G.I. Joe and Visionaries toys' gold plastics also crumbling seemingly of their own accord.

Cause of GPS
stub
GPS misconceptions
The most common misconception about GPS is that all gold-colored plastic can suffer from this rot. Only certain plastic grades (described above) have been noted to be susceptible to GPS crumbling; in the past few years, more durable, pliable plastics have become the norm for toy construction, so the gold plastic on more recent toys like Cannonball are highly unlikely to have the flaw.

Also, not every type of plastic breakage is the kind caused by GPS. In most instances of broken toys, visible stress marks appear long before any breakage in the form of discoloration (since these plastics have a bit more "give" to them), and are typically very clean "snaps" due to excess pressure.

Older gold plastics do tend to be rather brittle and more prone than most to snapping under relatively light stresses, but "true" GPS breakages seemingly come from simple decomposition of the plastic without any form of excess force at all, and the breaks tend to leave shards of plastic and dust.

Toys commonly associated with Gold Plastic Syndrome
Generation 1
* Black Zarak
* Bristleback
* Roadblock
* Skyhammer
* Slog

Generation 1-2 Transitional Phase
* Pyro

Generation 2
* Electro
* Slingshot (Slingshot is infamous for being made almost entirely of gold plastic)

Beast Wars
<!-- Do not insert Transmetal Megatron into the list. That is not a case of GPS. -->
* Grimlock
* Randy
* Silverbolt
* NOT Transmetal Megatron. He suffers from something different entirely: Brown Plastic Syndrome.

Other notable instances
* Predator missile launchers
* Serpentor, while not a Transformer, is also known to suffer from this problem.

Clear Plastic Syndrome
There is a similar condition in figures made with translucent and transparent colored plastics. Though it doesn't seem anywhere near as bad as Gold Plastic Syndrome (which can affect ANY part of a figure), it seems to affect mostly the joints, either pivot or ball versions. The main cause of this is the higher friction ratio the plastic has (pin joints seem to be more susceptible) and the lower flexibility of the plastic. Some toys were made entirely of clear plastic and didn't fare much better than ones made entirely of gold plastic. Sorry, Starscream.

Etymology
The earliest use of the term that can be found in the alt.toys.transformers archives dates to September 2001 in a post by user Sky Shadow , though it is unclear from his usage of the term whether or not it was already in use. A post by Dave "Zobovor" Edwards, meanwhile, made a few months prior in June of the same year,, is the earliest identifiable acknowledgement of the widespread nature of the phenomenon within the Transformers fan community.
During a fight with Megatron, Optimus was ganged up on by several Predacons who nearly destroyed him. Ultra Magnus showed after having followed Sky-Byte via a hidded tracking device. Feigning compassion and understanding his brother's heavy burden in carrying the Matrix, Ultra Magnus pretended to offer Prime his helping hand, only to seize it and force the two of them to combine. What he didn't expect, though, was that Optimus had as much control over their new body as UM did. His plan to steal the power of the Matrix backfired and he had to cooperate with Prime to defeat the Predacons. Forced Fusion
First Lieutenant Jazz is one happy-go-lucky Autobot. Jazz ended up on a planet that he dubbed "the Information Highway" - a constantly-morphing world with "the accumulated knowledge of countless alien cultures, condensed into some kind of sensory precipitation". He loved this world and the constant new experiences so much that he deliberately ignored Ratchet's homing beacon, wanting to stay here forever. However, the planet was alive and predatory, and ended up absorbing him into it - he fired off a warning buoy to stop others arriving, and only this led to Ratchet & Ironhide finding where he was and rescuing him. Transformers Comic issue 6
Autobot campaign
Jazz arrived on Earth as part of Optimus Prime's unit, summoned to Earth by Bumblebee. After taking on the form of a Pontiac Solstice, he met up with the other Autobots. His first mission was to distract Sector Seven and law enforcement units, which he did, buying his fellow Autobots time to escape. Jazz was then surrounded by Sector Seven SUVs and Decepticon drones numerous times, requiring Ironhide's help to escape.

He would then make his way to Mission City, where he engaged Starscream, Blackout and two Dreadwing drones. Jazz defeated all four of them, but as he celebrated his great victory, Brawl appeared behind him and punctured Jazz's chest with his claw, extinguishing his spark. Ironhide arrived just in time to witness the killing, swore he'd make Brawl's death slow, and fought through a horde of Decepticon units to destroy him.
Decepticon campaign
Jazz arrived in Mission City with Sam and Mikaela (taking the role of the destroyed Bumblebee), where he was confronted by Barricade. After a brief chase through the city, Jazz engaged Barricade in battle, where he was defeated with ease.
Transformers: Autobots
Jazz's first appearance is with the other Autobots, meeting in an old junk yard. Setting out into the city, he retrieves a number of Sector Seven vehicles before running into Blackout; after a tedious battle, Blackout runs. Returning to the group, Jazz reports his findings, and is promptly forgotten about until he's unlocked as a playable character.

Transformers: Decepticons
Much like in the movie, Jazz's big scene in Decepticons is his battle with Megatron. At the Hoover Dam, Jazz has set up several automated turrets and Autobot drones around the lower perimeter of the Dam, preventing Megatron from escaping. However, this line of defense only works for so long, since the turrets only fire at air-borne objects. Finally getting up the side of the Dam, Jazz steps in Megatron's path, doing little more than trash talking before Megatron jumps into battle. After a roughly equal fight, Jazz finally falls. Megatron then finishes him off and desicrates his corpse.

Jazz was part of Optimus Prime's unit, summoned to Earth by Bumblebee after the latter Autobot came to be in the possession of Sam Witwicky. After his protoform crashed through a baseball stadium, he investigated a nearby car dealership and chose a Pontiac Solstice hardtop as his vehicle mode.

Linking up with his fellow Autobots in a deserted alley, Jazz greeted Sam and Mikaela Banes as "little bitches," stating that Earth seems to be a cool place to hang out. He casually sat on the hood of another car while Optimus Prime explained to Sam they learnt Earth's languages through the internet. He then relayed their mission to find the All Spark and explained how his grandfather's glasses were the key to its location.

Soon after, as Sam looked for his grandfather's glasses, the Autobots attempted to assist by clumsily destroying the yard where they went. When it came to hide from the parents, Jazz had the easiest time blending into the shadows due to his small stature.

When Sam and Mikaela were captured by Sector Seven, the Autobots mounted a rescue that saw Optimus Prime tearing the roof off Agent Simmons' vehicle. When the agents attempted to resist, Jazz used a magnet to relieve the humans of their weapons. After Bumblebee was captured by Sector Seven during the retreat, Jazz expressed his desire to rescue him, but was overruled by Optimus Prime, who didn't believe it possible to accomplish this without harming the humans, and so they should let them go.

The next day, after Optimus used his navigation scanner on Archibald Witwicky's glasses, Jazz again commented that they could not leave Bumblebee to die at the hands of Sector Seven, to become a human experiment. Optimus replied that Bumblebee would die in vain if they did not find the All Spark, and when Ironhide asked if the primitive and cruel humans deserved to be saved, Optimus countered by asking if Transformers were so different in the past. Going on to explain what he saw in the humans, Prime declared that if it came to it, he would sacrifice himself to destroy the All Spark - the humans should not pay for Cybertron's mistakes. Inspired by his words, Jazz and the other Autobots rolled out, filled with determination.

On the way to Hoover Dam, the Autobots encountered Bumblebee leading a column of Sector Seven assault vehicles. Jazz and his fellow Autobots applied brakes and did a hard u-turn to join the formation.

Entering Mission City, the human soldiers tried to call for air support from their own forces, only to be attacked by Starscream disguised as a human F-22 fighter. Jazz, oddly, sat in vehicle mode after the explosion which crippled Bumblebee, destroying his legs. When Devastator began shelling the battle site, Jazz lead the Autobot charge toward the Decepticon, speeding to the tank in vehicle mode, then transformed and hopped on top of the turret to distract the Decepticon from the humans. As Devastator also transformed, Jazz managed to wreck his left-side rocket launcher pod before being tossed off. He then sped back to the battle, firing at Devastator, while Ratchet sliced of Devastator's left arm.

Jazz then attacked Megatron when he appeared on the scene in order to cover the escape of several fleeing humans, but all he got for his trouble was being blasted by the Decepticon's fusion cannon. As Ironhide and Ratchet escorted Sam and the All Spark to safety, Jazz attempted to buy them some time by taking on Megatron by himself but was completely overmatched. The Decepticon leader tossed him through the air, then landed upon him with the crushing grip of his talons. Valiantly, Jazz fought on to the bitter end as Megatron tore him in two, throwing his pieces to the ground before attacking Optimus Prime.

After being separated from Sam Witwicky, Ratchet hurried to Jazz, but his spark had already faded. In the aftermath of Megatron's defeat, Ironhide somberly handed Optimus Prime Jazz's remains as Ratchet reported that he could not save their comrade. The Autobot leader somewhat half-heartedly eulogized him, and quickly moved on. Transformers (2007)

:Jazz transforms into a silver Pontiac Solstice Custom Hardtop. Included is a blaster weapon that elongates into a sniper rifle, which may also be clipped directly onto his rear spoiler when in vehicle mode. In robot mode, the section featuring this same rear spoiler may be kept folded onto his back or worn on either shoulder as a shield. An interesting undocumented feature is a hinge joint located on the bottom of the rifle can attach to the shield's hinge joint, creating three choice weapon configurations: (a) a mounted long range sniper rifle, (b) an ambidextrous shoulder-mounted cannon, or (c) a short range blaster with built-in shield somewhat akin to what has been seen in Jazz's concept art and in the movie itself.

: As with most of the mainline toys, he features a Automorphing gimmick that is activated by pushing the car roof down onto his back and locking it into place. This raises his head and slides his chest panels into proper position for the robot mode. This feature, like the weaponry mentioned above, is not documented at all, so one must be careful to not press the chest and the back at the same time.

: A much smaller version of the character, Legends Jazz features limited articulation and detail, along with a much simpler transformation. A rather glaring side-effect of this simplicity, in a desire to mimic the hood chest of the larger toy, is the addition of a second front bumper on the roof of his alt-mode. Whether this means Jazz also includes a second engine to go with this front bumper or an attempt at compensation for a case of police car envy is unknown. Ironically, the smallest version of Jazz is the biggest Legends toy in the movie line. Even bigger than Optimus. This may make up for the Arcee toy being taller than his Deluxe figure.

:Though larger than the standard Deluxe class Jazz, Fast Action Battlers 'Ion Blast' Jazz is a simplified toy with comparatively few parts and detailing. In vehicle mode he's kind of a squat and cutified Pontiac Solstice while in robot mode he bears greater resemblance to Generation 1 depictions of Jazz due to the simple transformation sequence. Amusingly, FAB Jazz's head is mounted on a piece of plastic extending from the roof/windshield piece, just like the Generation 1 toy. His articulation is limited to his shoulders, hips and knees, and has a missile launcher in place of his left hand.

: This toy was later redecoed into Sonic Shock Smokescreen.

: An extensive retool of Jazz, modifying his head and most of his legs to give them a broken, battle-scarred appearance. Amusingly, because Hasbro chose to keep his vehicle mode pristine, the rest of his body is undamaged. All the damaged parts have a black and blue deco, representing glowing circuitry and exposed conduits.

: Jazz comes with a brand new spring-loaded weapon (called a Crescent Cannon on the packaging), partially modeled after the actual weapon Jazz appears with in the film. It can fire a transparent blue projectile and, not unlike his original featured weapon, can be mounted in different configurations: (a) Mounted on his right arm with the Crescent Cannon missle launcher (with the crescent up) facing forward a la the film, or (b) mounted on his left arm with the flip-out rifle barrel pointed forwards (with the crescent down). The cannon can actually be rotated on the connecting peg, allowing the gun to be mounted in either configuration on either arm.

: Unusual for a regular Deluxe class figure, this version of Jazz is packaged on his card in robot mode, no doubt to highlight the changes to the figure that would not be visible in the vehicle mode.

: This figure also has a minor change to the joint in the forearm. In the first version, the black hinge-joint was able to slide over slightly as part of the original design, while it is now shorter and much more secure.

: In spite of the claim that this is a "final battle" version of Jazz, his torso does not separate easily from his legs.
He's lacking in Martini sponsorship for all the obvious reasons, replacing them with his own name. Disco Jazz doesn't need to advertise really, but he does.
* The packaging text for the Deluxe Jazz figure refers to his weapon as a "telescoping sword". As ridiculous as this sounds considering this weapon looks like a firearm and can attach to his spoiler in vehicle mode as such, this very idea actually comes from concept drawings of a sword weapon featured on the same concept art that also had Jazz showcasing the short range blaster/shield thingy both featured in the film and included with his Final Battle retool. So, really... not that ridiculous anymore.

* In an earlier draft of the movie script, Megatron was supposed to "consume" the Sparks of Autobots he killed. A remainder of this can be found in the novelization and the IDW comic adaption of the movie, which both excplicitly state that Megatron tears out Jazz's Spark. In the movie itself, however, Megatron simply appears to kill Jazz by ripping him apart at the waist, even though Frenzy was previously able to survive as a detached head.
For example, if one were not to want to sound like a robot, Enemy would, counter to this one's desires, change this being's voice into sounding like that of a robot's. And he would do this with only one part of his body; nay, the only part of his body he has.

He is a bastard. Perhaps, even, a nemesis.
*Enemy (AM Radio and Headset)
:Enemy first appeared in 1984 as part of a working AM radio & headset, a piece of merchandise made by Nasta under the "Power Tronic" imprimatur. Featuring a large wearable Decepticon symbol belt-clip, removing this item revealed Enemy, a solid red (with blue thighs and upper arms) simplification of the Rumble/Frenzy mould. Permanently attached to the radio, Enemy could not be removed without breakage, but could neverthless transform in situ.

*Enemy (voice changer)
:Enemy was given life again the following year when Nasta released a voice-changer in 1985. A large disembodied head, Enemy again looked like a red Frenzy/Rumble, but this time with proper silver face detailing. If a kid talked into a headset that plugged into Enemy's noggin, his voice would be modified to sound robotic. Enemy came with a belt clip, power pack, headset with built-in microphone, and ran on a single 9 volt battery (not included).
:Bonecrusher is a Decepticon from the Movie continuity family.

Bonecrusher is a Transformer that can be described with one word: Hate. Bonecrusher hates this wiki. Bonecrusher hates the fact that his toy is so small. Bonecrusher even hates amusingly appropriate Avril Lavigne quotes. Basically Bonecrusher hates everything and everyone, particularly buses, and lives for the day when all of creation is crushed and destroyed beneath his feet. If anyone tries to befriend him (with the possible exception of folks from Force Protection, as noted below), he will have nothing to do with them. His overwhelming anger and hatred extends even to his fellow Decepticons, including Megatron himself. Only fear of Megatron keeps him on their side. Plus, he really hates the Autobots.

Were you to ask if there was anything he didn't hate, he might tell you that he hates it when people ask that. More likely, though, he'd just grind your torso into a fine powder. The hatred of Bonecrusher isn't a quiet, brooding, sulking, thing nor a whiny Emo sort of hate. His hatred is of the explosive, violently psychotic sort, and the only thing that soothes his twisted spark is to sneer at the mangled remains of those he destroyed.

He transforms into a Buffalo mine clearing vehicle used by the military. It is made exclusively in South Carolina and the drivers routinely use it to drive to the local Taco Bell/Pizza Hut. He hates drivers, the mine clearing vehicle, the drive-thrus, and South Carolina. He loves tacos, however.
Bonecrusher was aboard the crew of the Nemesis, led by Starscream, who were searching for Megatron, who was lost thousands of years ago, along with the All Spark. He hated the Nemesis, but would hate trying to walk home more. He also hated the All Spark, but Megatron wanted it, so he decided not to complain. Finally, he hated Starscream, but all the other Decepticons do as well, making it something he has in common with his fellow Decepticons. He hated that.

Bonecrusher was picked to lead an assault on the Ark. His only response to the command was a growl, but he dislikes being in charge, as his only strategy in combat is to violently charge the enemy and rip them apart with his bare hands. Everyone else uses their stupid guns, and Bonecrusher is a terrible shot. After Blackout had his exhaust port handed to him for challenging Starscream, Bonecrusher had to drag him back to the Nemesis. Bonecrusher would have preferred to leave him to rot. During the subsequent fight, Bonecrusher has to fight Ironhide, and managed to dent his armor. However, Bonecrusher does demand answers from Starscream when Blackout demands information on why the Decepticon leader wanted to destroy an alien vessel, cause damn it, even Bonecrusher needs reasons to kill (well, not really, he was just getting fed up with Starscream). Bonecrusher was forced to drag Starscream back to the Nemesis when he was injured by the alien ship. He hates being a courier. Transformers: Ghosts of Yesterday

Bonecrusher is known and feared by Autobots for never giving up. He almost killed Jazz once and pursued him & his comrade Clocker for ages - because Bonecrusher hates nice-looking shiny robots (or nice-looking anythings) and deliberately destroys them. As he says, "I figure, why should they look so nice... when I look like this!", showing he hates even himself. Clocker covered Jazz's retreat and tried to fight Bonecrusher, who hated that and killed him. Transformers comic issue 6

Bonecrusher was a member of Starscream's unit that was keeping Optimus Prime's reinforcements out of Tyger Pax. When Brawl arrived with news of Megatron and the All Spark, Bonecrusher insisted that they move on as they had already killed all the Autobots in the area. He then demanded that Brawl take them to Megatron or he would kill them all. Witnessing the launch of the All Spark, Barricade commented that Cybertron would die, but Bonecrusher replied that they should let it die, and that Barricade should join it in death. After Starscream and Blackout settled their differences, the group headed after Megatron.

The Decepticons made planetfall on Earth in Afghanistan, quickly attracting the attention of a nearby US military base, which sent out an armoured personnel carrier to investigate. Bonecrusher declared his satisfaction in finally having something to kill, but this chance was snatched away when Wreckage scanned the vehicle and destroyed it. He hated when that happened. Hitting the US airbase, Bonecrusher easily killed the humans before scanning a Buffalo mine-clearance vehicle and complaining that there weren't enough lifeforms to kill. Transformers Movie Prequel (Target) Volume 2

{{note|In the panel where the Decepticons react to the arrival of the armoured personnel carrier, it is likely that Bonecrusher's speech bubble regarding the military base was actually meant for Wreckage (as the latter was the one who tracked the base location), and that Brawl was incorrectly given Bonecrusher's own speech bubble about killing things. On the last page, Bonecrusher's speech bubble asking Starscream if it was going to be easy is clearly meant for Barricade, as that is who Starscream responds to.

Bonecrusher was hiding out in the motor pool of a military base when he received a communique from Starscream ordering the Decepticons to to mobilize and converge on the location of the All Spark. He rendezvoused with Barricade and Devastator, and the three Decepticons headed off together to intercept the Autobots and their human allies who had the All Spark in their possession.

Devastator wandered off somewhere, so Bonecrusher and Barricade continued their pursuit on the freeway. Barricade activated his sirens to clear the traffic and allow them more maneuvering room. Unsatisfied with Barricade's less conspicuous method, and since he hated rush-hour traffic, Bonecrusher used his mine-scoop to flip cars out of his way (He kinda liked that). Surprisingly, the Autobots didn't find this out of the ordinary, and only reacted when ladiesman217 recognized Barricade and warned the Autobots. Optimus Prime, Ironhide, and Ratchet aligned to block the Decepticons from Bumblebee, who had the All Sparks and the fleshlings.

After Barricade pulled over to the side of the road, Bonecrusher transformed while still moving and skated towards the Autobots. Optimus Prime transformed and slid into position to block his path. Seeing the Autobot he really hated (and that's saying a lot), Bonecrusher smashed through a bus (it irked him), and tackled Optimus Prime, pushing him off an overpass tumbling and falling off the edge, dragging the Autobot leader down with him.

When they landed, he sucker-punched Optimus Prime, who then hit Bonecrusher so hard one of the Decepticon's optics popped free from its socket (he liked that eye... well, no, he didn't; he just hated not having it more.) The two played a little cat-and-mouse along the overpasses. After Prime jumped down to ground level, Bonecrusher swung his tail wildly at the Autobot, all the while screaming incoherently. This gave Optimus the opportunity he needed to get his sword ready... which the Autobot leader used to cleave Bonecrusher's right arm and run through the Decepticon's neck, nearly severing it. Optimus then wrenched Bonecrusher's head from its neck and tossed it aside.
Bonecrusher hates his movie role. Transformers (2007)
: Bonecrusher transforms into a Buffalo mine-protected vehicle, with an articulated "mine-fork" for removing mines or cars or robots or unsuspecting buildings from his path. The fork can change from its packaged "Grabber claw" configuration into a more fork/shovel like configuration, a fact not stated on the instructions. He has six rolling wheels in this mode, and two sculpted, non-functional spare wheels.

: In robot mode he has elements resembling both his 2005 design and the final design used in the movie, though a major deviation to both designs is that the entire front shell halves of the vehicle mode are mounted upon his arms. His arms have limited articulation due to this kibble, but can extend out into really long arms. His legs fare better, with ball jointed hips, swivel knees and ankles, but his hips can often detach from the codpiece holding them together. The mine-fork splits to form a grabber-claw, which can snap onto victims with a geared slider Automorph mechanism. He is surprisingly okay with these little tools of death.

:Bonecrusher comes packaged with the impressively-armed Ironhide. He is depicted lunging forward on his roller-skate feet, presumably to deliver an extremely enthusiastic hug. This figurine is notorious for not actually being able to stand up on its feet very well, usually requiring one of its hands to be used for balance. Also, he's got some kind of a sneering grin, making him look almost happy, even if it's an evil happy.

Bonecrusher really, REALLY hates his Robot Heroes toy.

* The real Buffalo mine-sweeping vehicle hasn't in fact, such a huge fork. It is only 14 inches (35 cm) wide. The image that inspired Bonecrusher's design was actually a Photoshopped image put on the official Force Protection company's site to make it look more impressive. A 10-foot-wide (3 m) appliance had to be fixed on Bonecrusher's arm for the movie. He hated that.

* Force Protection really, really loves Bonecrusher and that he has picked their Buffalo as its alt mode. They are actually quite proud of it. Bonecrusher is not sure what to think about that.

* Bonecrusher's toy was used as a prop for a CNN Headline News report demonstrating the real Buffalo vehicle's mine-sweeping arm. He hates the Lincoln Memorial.

* It's a matter of debate whether or not Bonecrusher actually said anything intelligible in English during his brief appearance in the finished film, or whether he is talking in Cybertronian. At various points in his fight with Optimus Prime, he does emit some garbled roars that might be English. However, there is little agreement among viewers as to whether he said anything at all, much less what he supposedly said. For what it's worth, the subtitles saying nothing on his speech, and the closed captions say that he is just "roaring". His only subtitled line is "Bonecrusher rolling." It could just be that he hates speaking coherently. Kinda makes you wonder why nobody has thought to contact Jimmie Wood and ask him just what the Slag he was saying.

* Bonecrusher is Michael Bay's favorite character from the film, despite his limited screentime—so much so that Bay named his new dog after him. Although the Decepticons are generally cat people, Bonecrusher hates cats, so he is quite flattered. He still hates Bay for the small screen time he gets, though.

* Bonecrusher is never discussed or mentioned in the Transformers: The Movie Guide. He hates that. Then again, he hates kids reading about him, so it balances out.

* According to the DVD commentary, Bonecrusher's sequences were particularly difficult for ILM to do at first. The solution came from videotaping employees rollerblading at speed in the parking lot, and a pair of fighting experts going through the motions wanted for Bonecrusher and Prime, then using that footage as references. And Bonecrusher hates it when nobody knows how he fights.

* Last but not least, Bonecrusher hates you. Yeah, you. You know who you are. Don't try to pretend you don't know, either. Bonecrusher hates ignorance.
Blurr is a serious minded, yet highly competitive warrior. His skill and dedication have made him an expert marksman, serving as a sniper in Optimus Prime's unit. Once a champion racer, Blurr now trains up and coming racers in the intircacies of the sport. His gruff personality can be off-putting to his students and fellow soldiers, but he is tough on them only because he expects the very best from himself and those around him.
Blurr was an Autobot officer holding the rank of lieutenant, a veteran of the campaigns on the wartorn planet Duke. While serving on Cybertron, Blurr encountered a young Autobot named Side Swipe, who had somehow fallen prey to a trap which left him hanging from a rope. To his chagrin, saving the younger soldier led to Side Swipe idolizing Blurr, to the point of following the seasoned soldier to Earth when Blurr transferred to Optimus Prime's command. Past, Part 1

Blurr is described as a racer with a gruff serious personality. He doesn't like small talk and prefers to keep himself busy working. Blurr has a dislike for the children and especially Side Swipe. Blurr relates most to Scavenger, as the two are very similar, and he maintains a friendly rivalry with Hot Shot/
Appearing only in vehicle mode, and usually with several redecos of himself, Blurr is one of the many Autobot refugees hiding on Earth. He and his redecoed pals later appear on Velicotron, with no mention of them having been on Earth or Cybertron previously. Blurr is never referred to by name, and no mention is made of his past adventures.
He makes his first appearance in Issue 10 on one of Jetfire's screens when Optimus Prime visits Autobase:Cybertron. In Issue 17 he was given the task of blowing up the Nexus by Jetfire, but he was unable to do so as the destruct sequence could only be activiated manually. This mode also makes his twin Powerlinx-activated spring-loaded missile launchers available, which become hand-held weapons in robot mode.

: The Japanese release of Blurr has several significant color differences, most notably the lack of "dirt-wash" on his car mode, clear-red canopy rather than clear-yellow, plus his head has an entirely different set of paint applications.
This mode also makes his twin spring-loaded missile launchers available, which become hand-held weapons in robot mode. These missile launchers have been similarly retooled to remove the Powerlinx gimmick, replaced with traditional firing tabs. ==Trivia==
* Cybertron Blurr has two separate Hasbro-written profiles, both of which contradict his appearance on the show. The bio published on Hasbro's Transformers website indicates Blurr is the Armada character, who has stayed behind on Cybertron to protect it from the Decepticon assault in the face of the Unicron Singularity's appearance. The bio on the toy package describes him as a former racing champion who trains new racers, makes no mention of his past in Armada, and can easily be intepreted as describing a native Velocitronian. Both bios describe him with his gruff Armada personality.
Cold, distant, quiet. Wreckage is the counterpart to the hot-wired Brawl. Deliberate and methodical in his attacks, he enjoys watching his foe squirm in agony as his twin swords cut deep below their armor. Circuits popping and vital processors sizzling to uselessness are the music he longs to make, and none of the Decepticons can argue with his taste for making Autobots suffer.

Wreckage was one of several Decepticons under the command of Starscream during the battle of Tyger Pax. He was finishing off an Autobot with his sword when Brawl arrived with news that Megatron knew where the All Spark was located. After witnessing the sucessful Autobot launch of the All Spark and Megatron's subsequent pursuit of it, Wreckage left Cybertron with Starscream's group in search of their leader.

Arriving on Earth many years later in Afghanistan, scanned and destroyed a human military carrier vehicle sent to investigate their planetfall. He was able to trace the location of the Bargam US airbase and jam their communications to prevent them from calling for help. Under Starscream's orders, Wreckage led the group to attack, initially confusing the soldiers with his vehicle mode. Whilst observing Barricade slaughter human soldiers the latter had tricked, Wreckage was hit with a localised electromagnetic pulse and disabled. Barricade was ordered by Starscream to leave their comrade behind, because he would either recover eventually, but if not, then it didn't matter.

: Wreckage transforms into an M1126 Stryker Infantry Carrier Vehicle in urban or arctic camo, armed with a M2 .50 cal machine gun and two other machine guns mounted extending out of the troop compartment. Unusually for a transformer with a military vehicle alternate mode, Wreckage does not feature significant embellishments to his design, even though he is not a licensed toy. However, his white plastic obscures much of his sculpted detailing.

:His Automorphing feature is activated during transformation by swinging his machine gun down, pushing it against a translucent red panel, which simultaneously raises his shoulders, lowers his torso, raises his head and extends his stomach-mounted cannon all in one movement.

:Wreckage's robot mode is more traditionally Transformers-styled compared to most of the other Movie line toys. As with most mainline Movie toys, he features an excellent range of articulation. The smaller machine gun weapons feature flip-out energy blades that can be held in his hands, mounted under his forearms or on any of the wheels. They can also connect together to form an undocumented but certainly intended double-bladed weapon; mounting this on his forearm wheels gives him an awesome spinning blade weapon.

: There is a minor issue on Wreckage where moving his arms down or towards his back at the shoulder will activate his Automorphing feature and begin to fold the torso back into its vehicle mode position. The best way to avoid this is to hold the grey gun plugging into his back in position while moving his arms.
*Wreckage (3D Battle Card, 2007)

: A 35-point "Uncommon" card, Wreckage is assembled form punch-out parts of two cards, which can be fit together to make either a robot or a tank. Since he uses the same parts layout as Brawl, his central cannon is considerably oversized when compared to his toy.

Trivia
*As revealed at 2007's Hasbro tour, Wreckage is the toy company's elaboration of a design for a Transformer abandoned early in the Movie's development. It had no name and was thus labeled 'Stryker', the name of its vehicle mode.

If anyone tries to befriend him, he will have nothing to do with them. His overwhelming anger and hatred extends even to his fellow Decepticons, including Megatron himself. Only fear of Megatron keeps him on their side. Plus, he really hates the Autobots.

Bonecrusher is aboard the crew of the Nemesis, led by Starscream, who are searching for Megatron, who was lost thousands of years ago, along with the AllSpark. He hates the Nemesis, but would hate trying to walk home more. He also hates the Allspark, but Megatron wanted it, so decided not to complain. Finally, he also hates Starscream, but all the other Decepticons do as well, making it something he has in common with his fellow Decepticons. He hates that.

He's described as being a terrible shot, but he doesn't really mind, as he much prefers to kill with his bare hands.

Transformers The Game (console)
:(Note: Bonecrusher only appears in the Decepticon campaign of the game, and as a non-playable character t'boot.)
While hiding in a military base, Bonecrusher came under attack by the Humans twice, and required assistance from Starscream to escape. He hates needing help from people, especially from people he hates.
Transformers (2007) film
:Voice actor: Jimmie Wood (English)

Bonecrusher was hiding out in a military base (which he hated) when he got the call from Starscream (who he hated) to mobilize and converge on the location of the All Spark (Which he hates). He rendezvoused with Barricade (who he also hated), and hit the highway in pursuit of the Autobots and humans who had the All Spark in their possession. Since he hates rush-hour traffic, he started using his mine-scoop to flip cars out of his way. (He kinda liked that.)

But then he saw Optimus Prime, the Autobot he really hates (and that's saying a lot), and transformed to tackle him. After smashing through a bus (it irked him), Bonecrusher knocked Prime off an overpass and plummeted (he wasn't fond of that part), and got in a few good licks on the briefly-stunned Prime, all the while screaming incoherently.

However, Prime hit Bonecrusher so hard one of the Decepticon's optics popped free from its socket (he liked that eye... well, no, he didn't, he just hated not having it more), and the two played a little cat-and-mouse along the overpasses. This gave Prime the opportunity he needed to get his sword ready... which he stabbed through Bonecrusher's neck, decapitating him.

Bonecrusher hates his movie role ( and Michael Bay too).
: Bonecrusher transforms into a Buffalo mine-protected vehicle, with an articulated "mine-fork" for removing mines or cars or robots or unsuspecting buildings from his path. He basically explodes into a robot mode that has extremely long fold-out arms. In robot mode, the mine-fork splits to form a grabber-claw, which can snap onto victims with a geared slider Automorph mechanism.
*The real Buffalo mine-sweeping vehicle hasn't in fact, such a huge fork.

Dirge
:Dirge is a Decepticon in the Generation 1 continuity family.

Dirge is a master of using fear as a weapon. Mournful, morose, and silent, his behavior gives even close comrades like Ramjet the creeps. Dirge actively cultivates this atmosphere; his engines are even tuned to generate fear in all who hear them. Few realize, however, that this need to instill fear is part of an overwhelming need for control over his own situation. Should things spiral out of control, Dirge falls victim to paralyzing fear himself and his usefulness as a warrior vanishes.

True to his name, he tends to die a lot.

:French-Canadian name: Funébro

Fiction
Marvel Comics continuity
Generation 1
Dirge was on Cybertron serving under Straxus when contact was first made with the long-lost Earthbound Decepticons. The Smelting Pool! After Straxus's death, Dirge and his fellow "coneheads" were the second team of Decepticons to travel to Earth via the space bridge. Aerialbots over America! Megatron had instructed that their jet modes be altered to resemble "Terran craft" which had previously been seen in a Blackrock aerospace plant under Shockwave's control. Brainstorm!

Their mission was to defend a giant drill that would bore through Hoover Dam and siphon the Colorado River through the space bridge to the waterless Cybertron, where Decepticon turbines would generate "enough energy to power Cybertron for years." But just as the drill began its work, the Aerialbots intervened. Dirge found his fear-inducing ability was particularly effective against the acrophobic Silverbolt, but the other Decepticons fared poorly enough that a retreat was eventually called.

When the Decepticons later allied with Cobra, Dirge was assigned to be an emissary among the humans. Ashes, Ashes... This would be unfortunate for the luckless Seeker. When Serpentor realized the Decepticons were going to destroy the Earth, he needed a token of conciliation to show the Autobots. So in the middle of a battle against Omega Supreme, Serpentor goaded Dirge into attacking the giant with everything he had. Serpentor then pressed a button in the cockpit of his own jet, "jamming" Dirge's "frequencies," which caused the Seeker's weapons to lock up and explode when he tried to fire.

The explosion tore Dirge apart, and he wouldn't be seen again for years.
Generation 2
Dirge reappeared among the Decepticon forces just long enough to sacrifice himself futilely against the Swarm, self-destructing alongside Nightbeat. Moments later, Megatron showed up with the rheanimum that could have saved him.

Timelines Classics
:(<b>Note:</b> This series follows from Marvel G1 but disregards the UK and G2 comics.)

Dirge follows Bugbite now. We'll see if THIS leader can keep him alive. Nope.

Animated continuity
:Voice actor: Bud Davis (US), Keiichi Nanba (Japan)

Dirge appeared without explanation on Earth under Megatron's command a year or two after the Ark-borne Transformers awoke. Megatron said he and the other two coneheads were "supposed to be the most powerful jets in the galaxy." The Girl Who Loved Powerglide But if Megatron was serious, then they certainly didn't do much to live up to that reputation. They were loyal enough troopers, participating in all the usual Decepticon mischief, but not much more than that.

Dirge's first apparent death was during Unicron's attack on Cybertron in 2005. All three coneheads (or Seekers who looked like them) were seen flying into Unicron's mouth and exploding. The Transformers: The Movie (1986) However, Dirge soon turned up again in Carbombya, hiding with Ramjet amongst President Fakkadi's air force. Five Faces of Darkness, Part 1 Fakkadi denied their presence to the Autobots, but Outback psyched the two Decepticons out by walking around the airfield with what he claimed was a "Decepticon detector." When the coneheads tried to escape, Outback used a smoke grenade to make them crash, then tore the location of Chaar out of them with his steely gaze.

The two hapless Decepticons somehow escaped Autobot captivity, though, because they later participated in a full-scale assault on Cybertron. Five Faces of Darkness, Part 5 They chose to strafe Ultra Magnus, who dispatched them both with well-timed punches that sent them careening into buildings. They exploded quite utterly (even Ramjet, who you'd think would be used to it).

And yet they later appeared again on Chaar, failing to defend Trypticon against the ghost of Starscream. Ghost in the Machine In fact, Galvatron tried to execute the coneheads and the Battlechargers for their inability to stop the wraith. But they were saved when Starscream possessed Trypticon himself and launched into space, Dirge and the others onboard. When they saw that Starscream was using Trypticon to connect Unicron's head to Cybertron, they sabotaged the dinosaur from within. It's unknown whether that got them back in Galvatron's good graces; this was their last appearance.

<b>Note:</b> When Octane was seeking refuge in the Decepticon Crypt, he paused in front of a statue and said, "I know, 'Death comes to anyone who hides behind my marker.'" Starscream's Ghost This may have been intended to be a reference to Dirge, who sometimes spoke that way. But the statue bore only a very vague resemblance to him, and he would appear prominently in Ghost in the Machine, which had to take place afterwards. Plus it's highly unlikely the Decepticons would've been able to - or bothered to - erect the monument on Autobot-controlled Cybertron.

Find Your Fate Junior
Desert Flight
This is a multipath adventure with no one fixed outcome.

Dirge is the Decepticon defending the anti-gravity base, striking fear in the Autobots. In one outcome, he succeeds in destroying Optimus Prime, only to be destroyed himself by the Autobot leader's final shot. In the end, Prime' sacrifice spurs the Autobots to fight on to victory! Some days, you just can't win.

Dirge is the most overpowering Decepticon in this story, but he can be defeated by a surprise attack. Alternately, if both Ramjet and Thrust are defeated, Dirge will retreat.

Dreamwave Armada comics
An alternate version of Dirge appeared briefly as one of Unicron's heralds, along with Scourge, Bludgeon, Thunderwing, and Galvatron. He was blown up when Jetfire detonated the Decepticon headquarters that they had taken over.
Furman was so disappointed at his missed chance to use Dirge (whom he appreciated because he has a "...a cool doom-laden name"), that he chose the character to be one of Unicron's heralds in the Armada comic's "Worlds Collide" arc.
For example, if one were not to want to sound like a robot, Enemy would, counter to this one's desires, change this being's voice into sounding like that of a robot's. And he would do this with only one part of his body; nay, the only part of his body he has.
Featuring a large wearable Decepticon symbol belt-clip, removing this item revealed Enemy, a solid red (with blue thighs and upper arms) simplification of the Rumble/Frenzy mould. If a kid talked into a headset that plugged into Enemy's noggin, his voice would be modified to sound robotic.

Synopsis
spoiler
Immediately upon arriving in a new universe, Skyfall and Landquake are threatened by the powerful Megatron, who delights in their sudden appearance before him; he has been given the gift of being able to kill them. Before Megatron can kill them, however, he is distracted by a team of humans in RUNTs (Armored Robot Hunters).

Though Skyfall is far from a warrior, he takes pity on the humans and tries to convince Landquake to help them. Landquake is too confused by this new setting and this new unfamiliar Megatron, so Skyfall charges Megatron alone. Inevitably, Skyfall is hit by Megatron's cannon and thrown far.

Megatron returns to the two dimension-hoppers with his promise to kill them, but again is interrupted by another group -- Optimus Prime, Grimlock, Jetfire, and Mirage.

Errors
Items of note
* This storyline takes place after the Marvel Comics continuity, but in an offshoot timeline that did not include the Generation 2 series.
* After Megatron introduces himself, Skyfall assumes this is the Megatron from his own universe, since he has probably only heard of him. Landquake, having served under that other Megatron for years, is merely confused, wondering where he is. Neither seem to know (yet) that they dimension-hopped.
* Megatron's orange is colored as gold instead. That sucks.
* The RUNTs may have something to do with R.A.A.T., the military task force dedicated to destroying the Transformers, but probably not. The R.A.A.T. program was ended, and it's possible this group is working with the Autobots.
* Skyfall's forcefield power fails him for the first time due to a direct shot from Megatron's cannon. As Skyfall says, "that guy hits amazingly hard."
* And finally, of course, Prime and his Autobots are in their Transformers Classics bodies.

Seacon

The Seacons are a Decepticon Subgroup in the Generation 1 continuity family.

The six Seacons are the Decepticons' undersea combat specialists. They all transform into mechanical beasts resembling (more or less) aquatic life forms from Earth. The six combine into the super warrior Piranacon (also spelt 'Pirranacon').

The team consists of:

* The cruel and calculating Snaptrap their team leader. He transforms into a snapper turtle (sort of).

* The clumsy and insecure Nautilator, who transforms into crab-monster.

* The vicious Overbite (Overbite was known as "Jawbreaker" in some markets, and indeed called so in some issues of the comic). He becomes a shark with extra limbs. Truly.

* The sneaky Seawing, a manta ray.

* The unhygenic and polluting Skalor.

* The sadistic and strong Tentakil, who transforms into a squid.

The Piranacon combination is different from most other combiner teams. Snaptrap becomes Piranacon's torso, but the smaller Seacons can become not only one of Piranacon's limbs, but also a hand weapon for the giant. It is for this reason that the five smaller toys also have a 'weapon' mode (essentially their sea-creature mode on a stand with a gun clicked on). This makes Piranacon not only a combiner, but a Targetmaster.

Fiction
Marvel Comics
Shockwave first brought the Seacons to Earth to prepare and fortify the undersea portions of the Decepticons' island headquarters. They soon fought Galvatron, which didn't go well for them at all. Galvatron let them live, however, as part of a psyche-out against the monocular menace.

Shortly afterwards, Jawbreaker and Snaptrap were involved helping Shockwave retrieve and revive what he thought was Megatron.

The team would continue to serve Shockwave, and later Ratbat, until they were set against the Underbase-enhanced Starscream in New York. (It's at this time that a Megatron from the future possessed Snaptrap in an effort to change history.) Starscream was even less generous than Galvatron, and the team became ex-fishies.

Trivia
* Although the sub-group's name is pronounced "see-cons" in commercials for the toys, some fans often opt to pronounce it "see-a-cons"

Toys
The Seacons were first released in the US and Japan in 1988. They have a lot of purple and bright blue on them.
