Now she is trapped between organic and machine, unable to take a new form. The experience fueled a newfound hatred of the [[Autobot]]s and a quest for revenge that led her to join [[Megatron (Animated)|Megatron]] in his war against them, but she doesn't appear to hold any real loyalty toward him. Her hatred of her organic body is driving her insane, and she will do ''anything'' to get rid of it, no matter whom she has to crush in her path.

By stabbing other mechanoids with the spider legs projecting over her shoulders, she has the unique ability to download and mimic their traits and weaponry for a limited amount of time. Hope nobody told [[Lockdown]].

Blackarachnia acts differently around robots of the "opposite sex" depending on faction; she's bitting and sarcastic towards the Decepticons, but seductive and manipulative towards the Autobots. However, these appear to be but shells worn by a being who desperately wants to be normal again.

Blackarachnia was previously known as '''Elita-1'''. A thousand [[Units of time|stellar cycles]] ago Elita and her teammates, [[Optimus Prime (Animated)| Optimus Prime]] and [[Sentinel Prime (Animated)|Sentinel Prime]], were exploring an alien world, looking for a Decepticon ship filled with [[energon]]. They accidentally fell into a series of caves. They were ambushed by giant spiders and, when escaping the massive energon explosion caused by the battle, Elita ended up being left behind. When she tried using her ability to borrow powers from other beings, she was injected by the spiders' venom, turning her into the hideous freak she is now. Because of her new, semi-organic nature, her signal did not appear on Optimus's radar, leading him and Sentinel to believe that she had perished in the explosion. {{storylink|Along Came a Spider}}

When the All Spark was found by a group of Autobots, Blackarachnia was aboard the [[Nemesis (Animated)|''Nemesis'']] with the other Decepticons, annoyed at [[Lugnut]]'s emphatic, vocal loyalty to Megatron. She even suggested that Lugnut's speech of praise was hardwired into his mind. She also had conflict with Blitzwing, who touched a sore point by insulting her organic mode. Her retort to "blow it out your actuator, three-face" angered Blitzwing to the point that he...began to express his feelings in song. Later, at Megatron's orders, she scanned the Autobots' ship to determine the nature of their high-energy cargo. She confirmed the Autobots were carrying the All Spark, or at least something just as powerful. When the Autobots escaped and it became clear the ''Nemesis'' was going to crash into an exploding space bridge, Blackarachnia fled in an escape pod. {{storylink|Transform and Roll Out!}}

Later, she stalked [[Bumblebee (Animated)|Bumblebee]], [[Bulkhead (Animated)|Bulkhead]], and [[Sari]] on Halloween night. After she took out Bumblebee and Bulkhead, she started lying to Sari, who, even after her encounter with [[Starscream (Animated)| Starscream]], still couldn't recognize a Decepticon. Fortunately, Optimus came along, but Blackarachnia kidnapped Sari and started web-swinging.

After she got to the top of a skyscraper, Prime tried to fight her, only to realize at last who she was. Blackarachnia tried to use Sari's All Spark key to become fully mechanical. However, the energies unleashed caused any organic life in range, including Sari (and presumably any other [[Human|fleshy]]) to shrivel and sicken. It almost killed Blackarachnia, but Optimus Prime pulled the key out, restoring the organics. Prime tried to reason with "Elita", asking her to come with them in the hopes of curing her, but Blackarachnia stabbed him, saying that it would be a long time before she trusted him again. Later, she again kidnapped Sari, who was running away after having the key taken away from her. When she heard about the key and how Sari felt totally mistrusted by the Autobots, Blackarachnia played on the girl's sympathies by saying she knew how Sari felt. BA noted how she was not a Decepticon until after the Autobots turned their backs on her, and how the All Spark's power was the only thing that could cure her current form. Despite being kidnapped again and nearly being killed by BA's previous use of the key, Sari appeared to start seeing eye to eye with her captor. {{storylink|Megatron Rising - Part I}}

He's got [[Insecticons |no real loyalty]] towards [[Megatron (Animated)|Megatron]], but the Decepticons always pay on time and allow him access to the systems upgrades he craves. Besides that, he's really such a nasty piece of work that it's just easier for him to be a 'Con than not. Driven by the chase, he'll hunt down any prey you like...for a price.

Aside from his fees, Lockdown likes to collect trophies from his Autobot victims, and he has displayed a number of parts that appear to be stolen. (His hook and chainsaw arms appear to be stolen as well, since they don't match his color scheme.) The [[Autobot]]s consider his actions appalling, while [[Lugnut]] considers his mercenary ways an insult to the Decepticon cause, but Lockdown does not care. As long as Megatron and the Decepticon leadership will give him his upgrades, Lockdown will get the jobo done.

During the war, Lockdown worked as a bounty hunter. One of his jobs was to bring an [[Arcee (Animated)|intelligence officer]] who carried vital information in for questioning. He encountered [[Ratchet (Animated)|Ratchet]], broke off one of the Autobot's forehead chevrons and stole his [[EMP]] generator, turning the healing tool into a weapon.During said encounter,Lockdowm's right arm was destroyed, causing him to use a replacement arm. He was also indirectly responsible for Arcee losing her memory.

On modern-day Earth, Lockdown was hired by [[Blitzwing (Animated)|Blitzwing]] to bring in the Autobot presumed responsible for [[Megatron (Animated)|Megatron]]'s death, [[Optimus Prime (Animated)|Optimus Prime]]. He captured Prime using the EMP generator and, impressed by Prime's own personal modifications, stole his axe and forcibly removed Optimus's grapplers, something that traumatised him later on. When the Autobots came to rescue Prime, Lockdown made short work of [[Bumblebee (Animated)|Bumblebee]] and [[Bulkhead (Animated)|Bulkhead]]. [[Prowl (Animated)|Prowl]], on the other hand, proved a bigger challenge, but Lockdown came out on top (after having a tire mark smudged on his face). He was about to leave in his ship with his new trophies, when Ratchet, who had been suffering from war flashbacks, came on the scene and soundly thrashed him, partially because the stolen EMP generator didn't work on Ratchet himself. Pinning Lockdown, Ratchet painfully removed both Prime's grapplers and his own EMP generator. Due to his lanky build, he comes out a fair bit taller than most of his fellow Deluxe-class toys, towers over many Voyagers and even stands eye-to-eye with some Ultras (from series that had Ultras).

His vocabulary is littered with slang from teh internets, with terms like "n00bs" and "Total ownage!"

The Headmaster's control unit possesses a veritable arsenal of onboard weaponry, with grenades, missiles, and lasers, the latter of which can be used for combat or to decapitate his robot victims. The control unit can also transform from head to bipedal robot.

Henry Masterson grew up tinkering with Sumdac Systems robots and got a job as an engineer for them at a relatively young age. His genius caught the attention of his superiors, and he eventually had the honor of presenting his "Headmaster" project, a human-piloted transforming battle suit that could remove and replace the heads of automatons, to [[Isaac Sumdac]] himself. The demonstration went awry when the Headmaster unit proved to be too heavy for his robotic test subject, making it collapse and sending its weaponry towards [[Detroit]]. Sumdac, incensed by Masterson's plans to put his invention to military use, fired him in a fit of Donald Trump-esque rage.

Masterson apparently absconded with his Headmaster prototype and went off to sulk and play with his Rock 'Em, Sock 'Em Robots. He decided that having his own company would be "wicked sweet", as would exacting his revenge on Sumdac. Needing a robot sturdy enough to support his control unit, he chanced upon a news report on [[Bulkhead (Animated)|Bulkhead]]. The emo jerk ambushed and decapitated Bulkhead and subsequently went on a rampage in the Autobot's body.

He demolished several Sumdac [[police drone]]s en route to a solar power plant. Dubbing himself "the Headmaster", he hijacked local television broadcasts to deliver his ultimatum: Unless he was paid $700 billion, personally delivered by Isaac Sumdac, he would set the [[solar fusion reactor]] to overload, which would result in the obliteration of the entire state of [[Michigan]] (including Masterson himself). Sumdac arrived in a [[Optimus Prime (Animated)|tractor trailer]], accompanied by [[Sari Sumdac|his daughter]], [[Captain Fanzone]], and a [[Bumblebee (Animated)|small]] [[Prowl (Animated)|convoy]] of [[Ratchet (Animated)|vehicles]]. Sumdac offered Henry the money, but the Headmaster grabbed him and announced his intention to take the ransom money and destroy the city of Detroit anyway, then use the threat of future robot attacks to sell his Headmaster units to the military.

When he checked the trailer for the money, he found only the enraged head of Bulkhead. The convoy of vehicles revealed themselves as the [[Autobot]]s and engaged the Headmaster in combat. After taking a pounding from them, the Headmaster unleashed the weaponry of his control unit. He managed to corner Optimus Prime and began to slice the Autobot leader's head off. Prevented from doing so thanks to an ambush by Bulkhead's severed head, the Headmaster was soon felled by Prowl. Masterson decided to flee, but his flying Headmaster unit was knocked out of the sky by the still-disembodied Bulkhead.
