Drones?
What makes these guys drones? So far in the cartoon they seem to be generic Decepticons. Who don't talk much. Also, where is their name from? - Starfield 18:16, 27 November 2010 (EST)
:They were named in the comic, if I recall correctly. If they're not drones, the Autobots sure don't seem to have too many qualms about killing them.--RosicrucianTalk 18:18, 27 November 2010 (EST)
:Starscream refers to them as drones in the second episode. Not sure if he's just referring to the miners or not though. --abates 18:35, 27 November 2010 (EST)
::"The drones have been mining in you absence." The drones pictured mining were far away, but didn't seem to have the same silhouette as the Eradicons. - Starfield 18:44, 27 November 2010 (EST)
Deus ex Machina muddies the issue somewhat further with Starscream's comment that "The crew took a vote", which would seem to be beyond the capability of drones. Although then he does go and randomly murder one. Of course, I suppose the crew he was referring to could have been named Decepticons aboard the Nemesis that haven't been shown yet, the same way there's nothing to suggest Makeshift wasn't aboard during Darkness Rising. 82.15.246.28 16:31, 14 March 2011 (EDT)
:Yeah, that would be my guess. I can't imagine non-living drones taking a vote would be something Screamer would care about, so we have to assume there are other Cons on the ship...--76.28.76.206 16:55, 14 March 2011 (EDT)
::They call them drones so they can show their robotic guts getting ripped out in a cartoon. Otherwise they can vote and disagree with Starscream and stuff as much as they want. - Starfield 17:13, 14 March 2011 (EDT)
:::They seem to follow the same 'rules' as Star Wars' Stormtroopers or GI Joe's Cobra Vipers. They may be intelligent, but they're just disposable troop fodder. A drone doesn't have to be mindless, after all, and it's pretty clear that the Vehicons have some degree of intelligence. So they're not the same as the drones from Beast Machines. As for the Autobots pounding on them, that's been explicitly answered - it's because they're part of the Decepticon's warrior caste. The Autobots are far more merciful to the worker caste Decepticons... typically. - Vanguard 18:28, 16 January 2012 (EST)
Heads?
May be just me, but do the combat and mining variants have different helmets?
The combat ones have helmets like in War For Cybertron, shaped like a T, and the miners have Dead Space-ish stripes.
Anyone else noticed?
These guys were recently called "Terrorcons" in the new "Terrorcon Defence" Game on Hubworld.com Maybe add a note about that? --Kaymac192 17:25, 4 February 2011 (EST)
:No, they were called Vehicons. Terrorcons are the Dark Energon zombies. —Interrobang 17:29, 4 February 2011 (EST)
:But yes, you can add a note about them being called Vehicons in that game. - Starfield 17:32, 4 February 2011 (EST)

Clones?
With the revelation from "Operation Bumblebee Part 1" that Transformers bodies contain elements that are biology, specifically the T-Cog, it's not a leap of logic to conclude that the Vehicons contain similar morphology. In which case, they would be closer in nature to a Star Wars Clone Trooper, rather than a Confederation Battle Droid. In the Prime continuity, the words "drone" and "clone" may in fact have the same meaning, albeit the former is customary, simply because in the Real World, Drone is instantly understood to refer to something mechanical.

Smolder uses the powers granted to him by his new Mini-Con partner, Chopster, to act on all the grudges he's accumulated over the years. And he has a lot of grudges. Everyone's on his list, and everyone will pay. Oh, how they will pay. Preferably via the cutting edge of Chopster's axe mode.

On his down-time from grudge-holding and revenge-getting, Smolder appreciates the destructive beauty of a good structure fire, and can be counted on to add to any he might happen across. In fact, he will interfere—readily and violently—with any attempts made to extinguish it.

Smolder and Chopster arrived on the scene of a huge fire in Scramble City. One of the firemen attempting to put out the blaze asked Smolder's holographic driver to help them put it out, but Smolder instead expressed his love of fire. Chopster then activated his flamethrower and set the building even more ablaze, causing it to explode. The devious duo transformed, and Smolder ordered Chopster to destroy the fire hoses so that Scramble City would go up in flames!

Bumblebee and Ratchet arrived on the scene not long after, and Chopster emerged from the thick smoke and distracted the both of them. Smolder sped out of the billowing smoke and almost rammed the pair. He then braked, allowing Chopster to bathe them in flames. Ratchet was able to knock out Chopster with his EMP, locking the Mini-Con in axe mode. This didn't particularly bother Smolder, who transformed and threw him at Bumblebee. The plucky Autobot dodged the throw then charged Smolder, but the Decepticon proved to be a formidable hand-to-hand combatant. He was able to beat Bumblebee down, but the fight had given Ratchet time to re-charge his EMP blaster. The blast shut down Smolder as he attempted to transform, leaving him stuck halfway transformed to vehicle mode. Cyber Missions 9

: Part of the first wave of Power Core Combiners Commander Class figures, Smolder transforms into a fire department brush truck. He also has a secondary "power up" mode, in which he forms a super robot torso; in this configuration he can use the drone-limbs from any 5-pack set to make a new super-robot. His chestplate has a flip-up Mini-Con Powerlinx peg that allows him to use any Mini-Con as chest armor, though the nominal choice is his pack-in partner Chopster.

: This mold was also used to make Stakeout.

: During the period between 26 December 2010 and 31 January 2011, Hasbro ran their "Supercharge Your Holidays" promotion: for every $20 spent on Hasbro-branded product, customers could receive a free, random product from a list provided by Hasbro. Among the items on the list was "Transformers Combiners & Speed Stars Mini Vehicle". According to this discussion thread on Allspark.com, Smolder with Chopster was one of the figures distributed.
