==Synopsis==
[[Bumblebee (G1)|Bumblebee]] and [[Powerglide]] are dispatched to investigate mysterious energy readings emanating from from the sea. What they discover is an island filled with long thought extinct lifeforms, including [[Dinosaur]]s. Returning to the [[Ark (G1)|base]], they inform [[Optimus Prime (G1)|Optimus Prime]] and the [[Autobot]]s. [[Spike Witwicky|Spike]] is fascinated, but [[Cliffjumper (G1)|Cliffjumper]] dismisses it, what with the problems the Dinobots cause them. [[Wheeljack (G1)|Wheeljack]] defends the Dinobots, and brings [[Grimlock (G1)|Grimlock]] out to show them. Grimlock displays his "finesse" by using his fire breath to turn on [[Blaster]], impressing Prime and causing [[Ironhide (G1)|Ironhide]], [[Trailbreaker]], and [[Sideswipe (G1)|Sideswipe]] grimace in pain. Hearing the commotion, the other Dinobots arrive, and cause Grimlock to mess up, sending his fire breath all over the place. Prime realizes that the base is too small for the Dinobots to train in, and decides to have Powerglide lead them to [[Dinobot Island]], as Spike has called the island. However, [[Ravage]] overhears this, and [[Soundwave (G1)|Soundwave]] sends [[Laserbeak (G1)|Laserbeak]] to follow them.

Arriving at the island, the Dinobots are impressed with the wide open spaces. However, Spike gets into trouble with the local fauna, nearly getting eaten twice. Spike decides to go home with Powerglide, while the Dinobots work on their skills, such as [[Slag (G1)|Slag]]'s "fire stuff", [[Snarl (G1)|Snarl]]'s "tail stuff" and [[Swoop (G1)|Swoop]]'s "flying stuff". However, Laserbeak reports his findings back to [[Megatron (G1)|Megatron]], who decides to plunder the island's multiple energy sources.

Spike, having had enough of real dinosaurs, decides to check out some books with Bumblebee. However, while at the library, they see a temporal distortion, out of which comes barbarians riding wholly mamoths. They begin randomly attacking things, destroying the library and burying Spike and Bumblebee under a ton of rubble. At Dinobot island, the Dinobots discover the Decepticon presence, and attack. However, Megatron causes the native Dinosaurs to stampede toward the Dinobots, causing them to fall into a tar pit, which they sink into.

The mother actually looks like a newly hatched chick next to them. I don't even want to know ''how'' she managed to lay those eggs...

Autobot Spike

A wounded Spike is turned into an Autobot Frankenstein's monster to save his life.

==Detailed synopsis==
After a battle with the [[Autobot]]s, [[Megatron (G1)|Megatron]] plans his escape by creating a diversion for the Autobots. He blasts [[Bumblebee (G1)|Bumblebee]] while [[Spike Witwicky]] was ridding in him. Bumblebee is damaged and Spike was left in a comatose state. Spike is taken to Metro Hospital where the Doctors suggest that if Spike's mind was transferred somewhere else, they would be able to operate on his fragile body. [[Wheeljack (G1)|Wheeljack]] and [[Sparkplug Witwicky]] transfer Spike's mind into a creation of Sparkplugs, called [[Autobot X]]. Spike now becomes Autobot Spike. However, once the mind transferal was completed, his mind was left in an extremely unstable state. Angry about his new body, Autobot Spike rampages, destroying several computers and machines in Wheeljack's shop.
[[Optimus Prime (G1)|Optimus Prime]] is able to subdue Autobot Spike without damaging Spike's mind. To keep Autobot Spike calm, Wheeljack tunes [[Teletraan I]] to a television station, where he watches the movie, Frankenstein. Spike is roused to anger, convinced he is a "monster" and begins to rampage again throughout the [[Ark (G1)|Autobot Headquarters]], before he escapes.

Going out into the wilderness alone, Autobot Spike is in conflict between Spike's mind and Autobot X's. Will he use his new body and powers to help the world like Optimus Prime, or conquer all humanity?

[[Laserbeak (G1)|Laserbeak]] informs Megatron of Spike's new Autobot body and unstable mind. Megatron forms a plan to trick Autobot Spike into destroying the Autobots. Megatron soon finds Autobot Spike with [[Reflector]]'s help. Autobot Spike attacks, but Megatron has other plans. With Autobot Spikes unstable mind, he finds it hard to think and is easily twisted by Megatron to go against the Autobots.

Bumblebee brings the Autobots to Autobot Spikes location, but they are unable to fight against the vengeful '''Autobot Spike''' in fear of destroying Spike's mind. After Autobot Spike shoots his father off the edge of a cliff, does he realize what he has done. At once he saves his father and turns on the [[Decepticon]]s.

Finally, Spike's mind is returned to his [[Human]] body after the surgical operation was a success.

'''Autobot X''' was a [[Autobot]] constructed [[Transformer]] that was built from various parts at Autobot Headquarters on [[Earth]].

The various parts prevented Autobot X from possessing an alternate transformation mode, however, this gave it the ability to make use of various Autobot special powers as well as various weapons.

==Fiction==
===Generation 1 cartoon===
[[Sparkplug]] constructs a new robot entirely out of spare parts, which is given the moniker [[Autobot X]]. However, during testing the robot is proven to be unstable, and [[Sparkplug]] cannot control it. Autobot X is shutdown and put into storage. [[Wheeljack]] and [[Rachet]] beleive that they can fix Autobot X's bugs and use him as a temporary body for any Autobot that has been damaged in order to perserve their mind. Soon after, during a battle at a new Rocket base, [[Megatron]] damages [[Bumblebee]] and injures [[Spike]]. In order to save Spike, Doctors at Metro Hospital, suggest to [[Sparkplug]] to transfer [[Spike]]s mind so that they can opperate on his body. With help from [[Wheeljack]], [[Sparkplug]] transfers Spikes mind into Autobot X, transforming him into [[Autobot Spike]].
Once Spikes body was completly healed, Spikes mind was then transfered back. Autobot X was never again reactivated.
