It possessed the capability to imbue Cybertronians with true sentience, separating them from mere automatons. As well, it could reformat Cybertronians, and even evidenced the power to [[Eco-structuring|mechaform]] organics and their worlds.

===The [[Creation Matrix]]===
Traditionally borne by a [[Prime (rank)|Prime]] in each era of Cybertronian history, the Creation Matrix housed a portion of the lifeforce of Primus, and in some universes was considered the only means of Cybertronian reproduction. In one [[Reproduction#Budding|noteworthy instance]], it proved that it was instead the only ''safe'' method of reproduction, the alternative having given birth to the [[Swarm (G2)|Swarm]]. In this instance, the light of the Matrix had to be sacrificed to the Swarm to prevent the destruction of the Cybertronian race, an event that sparked the Swarm's eventual evolution into the [[Vok]].

===The [[All Spark]]===
Though its origins are unknown, the massive runic cube known as the All Spark birthed life from the inanimate surface of Cybertron. Lord High Protector [[Megatron (Movie)|Megatron]] showed an increasing obsession with the energy which emanated from the artifact, eventually dragging the planet into the depths of civil war over it. To safeguard it, [[Optimus Prime (Movie)|Optimus Prime]] ordered it jettisoned into space. Landing on [[Earth]], it drew the Transformers in pursuit of it, and the conflict eventually began again in this new theater of war. In a tense battle to keep the artifact from Megatron, the All Spark was destroyed, but not before its energies sparked a new flowering of Transformer life on the distant planet. Its immortal essence was not destroyed, however, and was transferred first into Samuel Witwicky, then into the Matrix of Leadership.

==Potential sacred implements==
Many artifacts share traits with known sacred implements, but have not been positively identified as sacred implements themselves.<ref>"The World of Transformers" only mentions Vector Sigma, the Creation Matrix, and a "cube-shaped object".</ref>

Connected with the energies of the Creation Matrix, the Matrix Flame acts as a conduit through which those energies may be used to grant life to Cybertronians as if the Matrix itself were present. It burns while the Creation Matrix resides within a Prime, and gutters and extinguishes itself should that Prime fall and/or the Matrix be removed. This most famously occurred after it gave life to [[Ultra Magnus (G1)|Ultra Magnus]], which prompted a mission to discover the fate of [[Optimus Prime (G1)|Optimus Prime]] on Earth.

===The [[Divine Light]]===
The serendipitous result of a [[Quintesson]] attempt to control Vector Sigma, the Divine Light managed to tap far deeper into Cybertron and became a direct conduit for the power of Primus. Eventually lost and coming to rest on the planet [[Archa Nine]], it was worshiped by the native peoples as a religious relic.

===The [[AllSpark (Animated)|AllSpark]]===
Sharing many similarities with cognates in other universes, the AllSpark is the source of all Cybertronian life and the main advantage the Autobots possessed in the [[Great War (G1)|Great War]]. It was jettisoned into space, where it was eventually found by an Autobot [[space bridge]] repair crew, who fled to Earth with it when they came under pursuit by a Decepticon warship. After landing on the planet, its energies granted [[Spark|sparks]] to several Transformers, and once it was shattered, the resulting shards did the same to many more.

Throughout the [[Transformer|Transformers]] multiverse are many Transformers who consider themselves family and refer to each other as such. The most common case is when two Transformers regard each other as siblings.

Given that Transformers are not organic life and likely do not [[Reproduction|reproduce sexually]], the origin, distinction, and exact meaning of many of these terms is frequently unclear.

== Possible explanations ==
The [[Dreamwave Productions|Dreamwave]] ''[[More Than Meets The Eye (G1)|More Than Meets The Eye]]'' guide provides a partial possible answer. According to the guide, when a spark naturally splits as it's being introduced to a protoform, it creates two robots who are "brothers", such as Sideswipe and Sunstreaker. When such a spark division is artificially induced, the less balanced and self-reliant pair created are referred to as "clones". (This definition of "brother" may or may not apply to RID Prime and Magnus, whose brotherhood was said to result from the special circumstance of having been created simultaneously by Alpha Trion).

However, the "[[Beast Era]]" widened the issue of reproduction with Rattrap referring to his "great-aunt" [[Arcee (G1)|Arcee]] and in general the practice of Maximals and Predacons referring to the Autobots and Decepticons as their respective "ancestors", as well as themselves as being their "descendants", implying a direct genetic (for want of a better term) lineage. Various sources of debatable canonicity suggest that [[Optimus Primal]] is specifically descended from [[Optimus Prime (G1)|Optimus Prime]], usually through the phrase "his ancestor Optimus Prime." In the absence of sexual reproduction, the use and meaning of these genealogical references is difficult to explain. One possible explanation might be a situation such as when [[Airazor (BW)|Airazor]] is brought to life. Her [[spark]] and [[protoform]] are heavily damaged, and [[Cheetor (BW)|Cheetor]] allows some of his parts to be used as replacements while [[Rhinox (BW)|Rhinox]] guides the procedure. {{storylink|The Spark}} To compare to humans, this is something like assisting with childbirth and donating blood or organs. It is unlikely that this happened enough to cause "descendants" as they are described, however.

Other family designations exist as well. [[Wheelie (G1)|Wheelie]] has "parents" who were lost in his crash on [[Quintessa]], according to [[The Story of Wheelie, the Wild Boy of Quintesson|some background material]]. The Mini-Con [[Twirl]] very specifically calls [[Falcia]] her "mother" (which Falcia ''hates'') and seems to treat [[Redline]] like a father, since the two's spark frame energies went into constructing her physical form. {{storylink|Linkage Part 7}} In the ''Armada'' cartoon, [[Side Swipe (Armada)|Side Swipe]] refers to [[Hot Shot (Armada)|Hot Shot]] as his brother after Hot Shot saves his life, suggesting at least an understanding of the concept; on the other hand, the ''Armada'' cartoon is originally Japanese, and in Japan, 'brother' and 'sister' can be used as terms of affection or respect to an unrelated person. The [[Unicron Trilogy]] universe has also used the term "cousin" for certain Transformers on occasion. The ''Victory'' manga from the Japanese Generation 1 era features Decepticon wives and children. Even the [[Transformers (2007)|live-action movie]] features an [[Optimus Prime (Movie)|Optimus]] and [[Megatron (Movie)|Megatron]] who are brothers, and it is mentioned in [[Transformers Autobots/Decepticons|the related Nintendo DS game]] that Megatron "took the spark" of their father.

Ensconced on the [[Moon (moon)|Moon]], Megatron set [[Lugnut]] to work at removing materials from the old Decepticon ship for the construction, with [[Shockwave (Animated)|Shockwave]] periodically joining him in-between attempts at retrieving Omega Supreme's [[activation code]]s from [[Arcee (Animated)|Arcee]]. When [[Starscream (Animated)|Starscream]] procured a new body from the protoforms stolen-to-order years before by [[Lockdown]], Megatron destroyed all the other [[Starscream clone]] shells to save the protoforms for his own plans—which he revealed to Starscream by pointing out the half-constructed shells of three Omega Supreme clones outside.

Once the shells were complete, Megatron had Lugnut and Starscream place a protoform in each structure to complete them physically and ordered Shockwave to get the codes from Arcee. As Shockwave prepared to force them from Arcee's cranium, Starscream knocked Megatron away in an attempt to get the codes for himself, only to be knocked away in turn by Lugnut, who was protecting his master and became the one to receive the actual codes. Megatron then claimed he had planned this: For him to activate the clones would cause their personalities to be based on his own, possibly leading them to betray him, while his "most loyal lieutenant" never would.

The activation codes Shockwave had gotten from Arcee were incomplete, however—missing a crucial security patch. As a result, the Lugnut Supremes didn't fly off at Megatron's command, and Lugnut himself had to be wired into Omega Supreme to control them directly. They set off for Earth as such, Megatron aboard the lead, with the aim of offlining the Earth Autobots once and for all... {{storylink|Endgame, Part I}}

Megatron ordered Lugnut to use them to destroy [[Sumdac Tower]], his former "prison", first. With a forcefield to protect it, they struggled, and [[Optimus Prime (Animated)|Optimus Prime]] and [[Prowl (Animated)|Prowl]] attacked—and by using the [[Stormbringer (Animated)|Magnus Hammer]], Optimus was able to crash them into [[Dinobot Island (Animated)|Dinobot Island]]. Dubbing the field test a "complete failure", Megatron ordered Lugnut to take them back to the Moon. However, Lugnut was forced to tell Megatron that their flight capability had been disabled. Furious, Megatron simply ordered Lugnut to have them destroy the city... the Autobots... everything except him.

It got worse for the Decepticon leader when it turned out that one of the clones—the one he was aboard—had been completely neutralized. While he flew off to deal with Optimus Prime personally, the clones continued to rampage, unencumbered by the Autobots' efforts... until [[Ratchet (Animated)|Ratchet]] and [[Arcee (Animated)|Arcee]] rebooted the original Omega Supreme on the Moon, who promptly severed Lugnut's link to the clones and ejected him.

For a moment, it appeared the clones had just stopped... until Starscream's face appeared on the remaining clones, revealing he'd planted bombs on them which would obliterate everything within "a hundred-mile radius", including Megatron! The "'''Starscream Supremes'''", as Bumblebee would now dub them, continued to rampage as they counted down to their self-destruction, and even the appearance of Omega Supreme himself didn't fully turn the tide—while he destroyed one, the other delivered a blow which forced him to return to ship mode and crash-land. Optimus Prime and Megatron continued to battle in front of the remaining clone—and only the self-sacrifice of Prowl, adding his own [[spark]] to a cluster of AllSpark fragments to create a force-field strong enough to contain the explosion, prevented Detroit from being completely levelled by its detonation. {{storylink|Endgame, Part II}}
