'''Unicron''' is the eternal arch-enemy of his twin brother [[Primus]]. He is known as the Dark God, the Chaos Bringer, the Planet Eater, and he is dedicated to consuming the multiverse. His goal is to bring an end to the annoying creation boasting independence around him, and find peace by becoming the living center of a swirling, infinite torrent of nothingness at the end of all things.

To undertake this seemingly overwhelming task, Unicron is able to travel across realities at will, a meandering plague upon existence itself. <ref>Titanium Series 3" Unicron profile</ref> Integrated into his systems are incomprehensible quantum computers which calculate probabilities forward and backwards in time, in perpetuity, giving his processors an everchanging, evolving map of the multiverse.<ref>Profile, Transformers Fan Club newsletter, Aug/Sept 06</ref>

The only thing that he fears is Primus's essence, contained inside the [[Matrix of Leadership]].

Frequently, Unicron will make deals with lesser beings, giving them vast new powers in exchange for their servitude. These minions are sometimes stripped entirely of their free will, but others follow him willingly. No matter their intent, Unicron's plans ultimately call for their consumption as well.

==In the beginning==

Before the dawn of time, Order and Chaos existed within an extradimensional entity known as the [[One]]. He created twin astral beings to reign over the cosmos: Primus and Unicron. Their nature differed, as Primus's lifeforce (aka the [[Allspark]]) was a multiversal singularity; existing across all Transformers realities at once (see note below), whereas Unicron existed in only one dimension at a time but could travel relatively freely between them. Primus was the Lord of Light and Order, and Unicron, the Lord of Darkness and Chaos. Unicron sought to devour everything that exists and become one with [[The Void]] at the end of all things.

''Many places in the multiverse, the true history of The One has been obscured by a myth stating that Unicron was one of the [[Lords of Chaos]] from the previous universe and has no intrinsic connection to Primus.

In combat, Primus was no match for Unicron. But Primus did manage to trap both his and Unicron's essences inside metallic planetoids. Over time, they learned to shape these prisons. Unicron formed his into [[Scale|a planet]] able to not only devour all in its path, but also capable of Transforming into a likeness of his old self. Primus, meanwhile became the mechanical planet of [[Cybertron (planet)|Cybertron]]. Knowing that his ancient enemy still lived, Primus created the [[13 original Transformers]] from the material of the newly created planet. To the very first of these 13, named [[Prima]], Primus bestowed the [[Matrix of Leadership|Matrix]], containing his essence. These Transformers would, in time, grow strong in number, knowledge, and power, and be able to defeat Unicron.

==War of the balance==

The first conflict between Primus and Unicron occurred shortly after the creation of the first 13 Transformers. One of the original 13, who would ever afterwards be known as the [[Fallen]], betrayed Primus and became an acolyte of Unicron. Many of the first 13 were destroyed in this great battle before Unicron and the Fallen were sucked into a [[black hole]] and sealed away in a extra-dimensional limbo.

The two brothers shared a mental link. So long as Primus hid himself in slumber, so did Unicron also sleep. Their war ended, for a time, in stalemate.

Eventually, in one version of Generation 1 continuity [[Grimlock (G1)|Grimlock]], [[Jazz]], and [[Bumblebee (G1)|Bumblebee]] found themselves transported to the center of [[Cybertron_(planet)|Cybertron]]. In a battle with [[Bludgeon (G1)|Bludgeon]]'s [[Pretender]]s, a laser blast ricocheted off Grimlock and struck the essence of the sleeping Primus, causing a multiverse-shaking Primal Scream that woke Unicron and alerted him to Primus's location.

The battle between Primus and Unicron began anew. Though Unicron would sometimes be defeated, this is always temporary, and there is a whole multiverse of realities to consume. When Unicron is destroyed in one reality, he will travel to another, ready to eat again. Primus will always be waiting, hoping to incapacitate Unicron and preserve existence.

It has been suggested that both of them are, in fact, necessary for the multiverse to exist in stability.

==Evolution of the Primus/Unicron myth ==

The Primus/Unicron backstory has evolved and been rewritten a good number of times since it first originated in the Marvel Comics. The version above is the current iteration, which has slowly solidified across a wide swath of media beginning around the time of [[Armada]]. Before the Primus/Unicron mythos reached its present form it went through several distinct versions in the Marvel G1 Comics and elsewhere.

===Unicron's story===
The first time we ever heard the Primus/Unicron backstory it in the UK comic continuity, from Unicron himself. After his destruction during the events of ''[[The Transformers: The Movie]]'', his head floated through space and crashed on the planet [[Junkion (planet)|Junk]]. There, he enslaved the inhabitants to recreate his old body from their world. When the bount-um... freelance peacekeeping agent [[Death's Head]] challenged him on the astral plane, Unicron shared the story of his origin thusly:

At the dawn of the universe, when Unicron was a primal force of evil, the only one who could stand against him and his [[Dark Armies]] was Primus, Lord of the [[Light Gods]]. (Note the plural.) Primus and his fellow Light Gods stood against Unicron and his Dark Armies. Events then played out roughly as described above.

===The Keeper's story===
The second time the story was told was in the US book by the [[Keeper]], an ancient mechanoid who guarded Primus's head at the center of Cybertron. This telling mentions that their battle was towards the end of the era of Gods and that Primus and Unicron were the last of their respective pantheons. But Primus had to defeat Unicron before he could take his place with the other gods in the "[[Omniversal Matrix]]".

===Primus's story===
The third time the story was told was by Primus when he gathered all his children together to prepare for Unicron's coming. Here we learn for the first time that Unicron predated the current universe. Unicron had destroyed the previous universe and then slept peacefully, alone with the void. But he had not been thorough enough and some bits of the "old realms" survived. They reacted and caused the Big Bang. The sentient core of this new universe recognized the threat of Unicron and so created Primus to be his counterpart and guardian of the new creation.

===DK's story===
The first modern retelling of their origin in the DK Transformers: Ultimate Guide (which tended to focus on the then current Dreamwave continuity) added a new twist with the "One" a self-contained being of balanced order and chaos. He was curious and so created Unicron to explore the new-born universe for him. Then he sub-divided Unicron and created Primus out of him. As Primus achieved consciousness he realized Unicron had become corrupted and was now a force for chaos. Primus thus took on the role of champion of order and creation to balance things and protect existence from Unicron.

''(Primus did not exist in the Generation 1 cartoon. There, Cybertron's oldest revealed status was as a factory world of the [[Quintesson]]s who invented the Transformers, and Unicron was a product of the strange, sad little alien [[Primacron]]. After the Primal Scream, Unicron headed directly towards Cybertron. He created three [[Heralds]] to send ahead of him and prepare the Transformers for his arrival: [[Hook, Line, and Sinker]]. He also borrowed a version of Galvatron from another dimension's future in which he was successful in devouring Cybertron.

Unicron placed a mental command in some Transformers, generating a cult of Autobots and Decepticons. His worshipers gathered to attack the leader of the two united factions, which had gathered on Cybertron when they sensed Unicron drawing near. Their assassination attempt was defeated with the help of Galvatron, Unicron's wayward herald.

Unicron was so unimaginably large that the sight of him froze both Transformer factions into inaction. Unicron, disappointed that victory was this simple, tore apart the planet's surface. It was only the actions of the kidnapped Galvatron that snapped the Transformers out of their collective terror. Even the united Transformers were unable to hold Unicron off. After being fazed by the [[Neo-Knights|Neo-Knight]] [[Rapture]] and temporarily shorted out by [[Circuit Breaker]], it was [[Optimus Prime (G1)|Optimus Prime]] who flew towards Unicron and opened the Matrix. The life contained inside caused Unicron to explode. ''(That Circuit Breaker could affect Unicron at all suggests that despite the Dark God's nature and history, his body (at least this one) is ultimately 'standard' technology, albeit of a very powerful nature.)''

''In the timeline of [[Earth-120185]], rather than attack Cybertron in 1990, Unicron made his appearance in 2006. Destroyed by the power of the Matrix, his head crash-landed on the planet [[Junkion (planet)|Junkion]], where he used mind control to force the native [[Junkion]]s to build him a new body out of the planet of Junk. At the beginning of 2008, he pulled [[Cyclonus (G1)|Cyclonus]], [[Scourge (G1)|Scourge]] and [[Death's Head]] into his thrall and used them to re-ignite the stalemated Cybertronian war in order to keep the Autobots distracted from his activities. Ultimately, however, he was defeated by Death's Head and the Autobots. His head was destroyed, and his mind was sealed within the Matrix. In 2010, he reached out from within the Matrix and took control of [[Rodimus Prime]]'s body, only to be stopped when [[Kup]] ripped the talisman out of his chest, but later still, in 2020, he repeated the trick and succeeded in transforming Rodimus's body into a copy of his own before being forced back. In his first documented appearance, Unicron was known as a [[Scale|giant Transformer]] which devoured everything in his path. After the Battle of Autobot City, [[Megatron (G1)|Megatron]] and several heavily damaged Decepticons (the [[Insecticon (G1)|Insecticons]] as well as [[Skywarp (G1)|Skywarp]] and [[Thundercracker (G1)|Thundercracker]]) were abandoned in space. Unicron reformatted Megatron into [[Galvatron (G1)|Galvatron]] and out of the damaged Decepticons, he created [[Cyclonus (G1)|Cyclonus]], [[Scourge (G1)|Scourge]], and Scourge's [[Sweeps]]. He ordered them to destroy the Autobot Matrix Of Leadership.

Galvatron returned with the Matrix, but intended to use it to make Unicron his slave. Unicron ate him. Having already eaten two of Cybertron's [[Moonbase One|moons]], Unicron attacked Cybertron. [[Shockwave]] and the rest of the Decepticons, at the time in control of Cybertron, fought back, but this had little effect. Unicron swallowed many spaceships, and one, which contained the young Autobot [[Hot Rod]] and his comrades, crashed through Unicron's eye. Hot Rod and Galvatron battled deep inside Unicron. Ultimately, Hot Rod was able to retake the Matrix, change into Rodimus Prime, defeat Galvatron, and use the Matrix to destroy Unicron. Unicron's body exploded, though its head remained somewhat intact and orbited Cybertron.

It was revealed to the [[Primitive]]s by [[Oracle (G1)|the Oracle]] that Unicron was created near the beginning of time by an ancient genius called [[Primacron]], to destroy the universe so he could remake it in his own image. But Unicron decided that he would be the one to rule the universe, not Primacron, and rebelled against his creator, wrecking Primacron's lab, destroying his assistant's body and leaving Primacron himself "broken but alive". Unicron then left, voyaging out into the vast expanse of space. {{storylink|Call of the Primitives}}

His eventual destruction was not the last the Transformers saw of Unicron; the ghost of [[Starscream (G1)|Starscream]] reactivated his severed head and entered into a bargain with Unicron, performing three labours in exchange for the restoration of his body. Starscream and Scourge gathered for Unicron [[Metroplex (G1)|Metroplex]]'s eyes (breaking one and replacing it with one from [[Trypticon]]) and Trypticon's [[Transformation Cog]], and then connected his head to Cybertron, which would become Unicron's new body. Starscream demanded that Unicron restore his body so that he could complete the connection; but once Unicron had done so, Starscream double-crossed him and refused to finish the job. Unicron's head was subsequently blown off into space by an explosion instigated by the Autobots.{{storylink|Ghost in the Machine}}

Later, when searching for a new supply of anti-electrons, the Decepticons ventured to Unicron's head, where Cyclonus and Scourge accidentally awoke the slumbering demi-god. At the same time, Grimlock, who had gained super-intelligence through an infusion of anti-electrons, had constructed the [[Technobot]]s from pieces of Unicron's head, and one of their number, [[Strafe]], severed enough of Unicron's neural connections to shut him back down.

Unlike the comics portrayal, Unicron is shown to be a large transforming machine and not a godlike being.

===Beast era===

Following his destruction in 2006, Unicron's severed lifeforce was displaced in time to Earth's distant past, prior to the Beast Wars. It rested in the pit caused by its own impact, quiescent for many millennia, until found by a Predacon known as the Hunter around the Machine Era.

Taking the name [[Shokaract]], he used this Dark Essence to conquer, ruling over an apocalyptic 32nd Century future.

Due to severe time-travel mischief, the events leading up to Shokaracts's timeline were averted when the Dark Essence fled Earth from the Beast Wars.

====Dark Essence====

The Dark Essence possessed only rudimentary intelligence, lacking the full force of Unicron's personality. It appears Unicron's Spark remained with his severed head (which has a back-up spark chamber) in 2005, while his power was displaced in time.

Is it unclear if this displacement was accidental, or represents an attempt by Unicron to preserve his power.

Shokaract contained the Dark Essence within a [[Matrix of Conquest]] from which he drew his powers. This is very similar to the relationship between Primus and the [[Matrix of Leadership]], where the Matrix holds the majority of his power, leaving Primus himself weak. The Matrix of Conquest appears to be unique to Shokaract's timeline branch, and would not exist outside of it.

====Beast Wars II and Neo====

After Rodimus Prime opened the Matrix in Unicron, Unicron's lifeforce (the green energy seen exploding from his body) raced across time and space until it landed on the distant world of [[Gaia]], riddling itself into the planet's surface. His lifeforce caused many strange phenomenon all over the planet, and was eventually dubbed [[Angolmois]] energy.

It proved to be a powerful energy source, leaving [[Galvatron (BWII)|Galvatron]] to attempt to harvest the energy for himself. Using his massive spacecraft, the [[Nemesis (BWII)|Nemesis]], he sucked all the the Angolmois energy out of the planet and into the craft. However, after the interference of [[Lio Convoy]] and [[Lio Junior]], all the Angolmois energy was sealed into capsules and ejected from the Nemesis as it self-destructed.

[[Big Convoy]] and [[Magmatron]] then raced to collect the Angolmois capsules, as their energy effects were wreaking havoc on planets all over the galaxy. They eventually collected all the capsules only to find themselves attacked by the mysterious and freakish [[Blentron]]s. The Blentrons proved nearly invincible, and stole the capsules from each team. They released the Angolmois energy and allowed it to possess Galvatron's dead body. Unicron was reborn once more.

Unicron then absorbed the last remaining ounce of stray Angolmois energy, the Blentrons, and left to settle his score with Cybertron. The [[Maximal Elder]], [[Great Convoy]], attempted to hold Unicron off with the entire Maximal armada, but Unicron's fiery serpent mode proved too much and he effortlessly destroyed the armada and Great Convoy along with it. Unicron then possessed [[Vector Sigma]], the mother computer of [[Cybertron]], effectively possessing the planet. He then morphed the planet into his new body, fulfilling the goal he originally attempted back in 2006 (or 2010, since this is Japanese continuity).

Unicron then briefly exited Vector Sigma to deal with the last remaining Cybertronian resistance. Big Convoy, his Maximal new recruits, Lio Convoy and Magmatron all fought side-by-side against Unicron, but all they managed to do was stall him. Big Convoy then powered up his Big Cannon with his own [[Energon Matrix|Matrix]], transforming it into the Matrix Buster. Big Convoy shot Unicron with the weapon, the powerful blast seemingly destroying the Chaos Bringer. Unicron's spirit was then evicted from Vector Sigma, returning Cybertron to normal.

====Universe====

Using what energies he had left, he called Transformers from various corners of the multiverse inside him to do battle. He feasted upon the sparks of the losers, growing ever more powerful. Primus countered this by calling his own army from the multiverse, led by [[Optimus Primal]]. Primal was able to set free the captives inside Unicron and begin a new war between the [[Minions of Unicron]] and the [[Children of Primus]].

Unicron sent forth heralds to prepare the Armadaverse for his arrival after having devoured the Cybertron of a previously unseen dimension. His heralds included versions of [[Bludgeon (G1)|Bludgeon]], [[Dirge (G1)|Dirge]], [[Galvatron (G1)|Galvatron]], [[Scourge (G1)|Scourge]], and [[Thunderwing (G1)|Thunderwing]].

He also sent the Autobots the near-death [[Optimus Prime (Worlds Collide)|Optimus Prime]] of that other dimension as a forewarning.

Unicron was ultimately defeated by [[Optimus Prime (Armada)|Jet Optimus]], the combined form of the Armadaverse's Optimus Prime and [[Jetfire (Armada)|Jetfire]], who were infused with extra Mini-Con power. However, he had managed to kidnap [[Airazor (Armada)|Airazor]], [[Cheetor (Armada)|Cheetor]], [[Rhinox (Armada)|Rhinox]] and [[Terrorsaur (Armada)|Terrorsaur]], and would see them forged into new heralds in the interim.

Disguised as Cybertron's moon, Unicron created the race of small robots known as the [[Mini-Cons]] to increase the ferocity of the Autobot/Decepticon war. When conflict exists, Unicron can feed off the energies released.

When the Mini-Cons found their way to Earth, they were followed by the Autobots and Decepticons. Unicron dispatched his minion [[Sideways]], a mysterious agent that served as the vessel for Unicron's spark in this reality, to carry on his work. Sideways escalated the conflict by manipulating control of the three Mini-Cons weapons; the [[Star Saber (Armada)|Star Saber]], the [[Skyboom]] shield and the [[Requiem Blaster]]. These weapons were the three keys that were needed to awaken Unicron.

As Unicron turned on Cybertron, the Mini-Cons broke free of his control and deactivated him, but when [[Megatron (Armada)|Galvatron]] then began his final battle with [[Optimus Prime (Armada)|Optimus Prime]], the hatred and ferocity of the fight awoke Unicron once more.

To end the circle of hate that gave Unicron life, Galvatron allowed himself to be consumed by the monster, and in a brilliant flash of light, Unicron apparently ceased to exist.

Unbeknownst to the Autobot heroes, Unicron's body had fallen into a state of decay. Operating at low, almost undetectable energy levels, Unicron was rotting away in what was called the "Graveyard of the Universe". A spark from the past would be enough to change all of this. Alpha-Q, a Terrorcon-related alien being from a far away world, Planet Q, would awaken within the dying giant and discover that Unicron's cells had the ability to restore life, just as it did to create the mini-cons eons before.

Alpha-Q, having had his own homeworld detonated and consumed by Unicron in the past, sought to restore Unicron enough to manipulate his body into restoring the world and galaxy that he lost. Alpha-Q used the cells to restore himself to a suit of armor, as well as create Sparkless drones of his former race to carry out his deed: collect energon. As energon was collected, Unicron grew stronger.

However, Megatron's corpse and spark remained within Unicron, and he slowly siphoned off some of the gathered Energon, allowing him to be reborn in his own new body. Alpha Q jettisoned Unicron's head and escaped in it, while Megatron took over Unicron's body, and continued to gather Energon in order to rebuild Unicron to use as his ultimate weapon. As the climax of this plan neared, a joint attack by Alpha Q, the Autobots and their human allies saw all of Earth's Energon channeled into Unicron's head, which Alpha Q then rammed into Unicron's body.

The positively-charged Energon of Earth reacted with the negatively-charged Energon running through Unicron, tearing open a fissure in reality leading to a new area of space where planets Unicron consumed were recreated, and sustained through the Energon radiated from Unicron's head, which had now become a glowing red sun.

Unicron's body, damaged once more, lay in the dark reaches near the fissure, and the Decepticons began to raid Alpha Q's new planets for the Energon necessary to revive Unicron again. This time, they succeeded, and Megatron directed Unicron's body to retrieve his head, extinguishing the Energon Sun and killing Alpha Q in the process. But the power of Unicron proved too much for Megatron to control, as Unicron began to take over Megatron's body. In the ensuing battle between Unicron and the super-powered Optimus Supreme, Unicron's body was successfully destroyed.

But unbeknownst to anyone, he lived on in two forms: his miniscule Spark, and his consciousness, which lay buried in Megatron's mind. With quiet, subconscious nudging, Unicron led Megatron to a massive reservoir of "[[Super Energon]]" beneath Cybertron's surface, which transformed him into Galvatron upon his first exposure.

After a series of failed battles, Galvatron proceeded to expose himself to the Super Energon once again, and this time grew to a gigantic height. Unicron seized control of his body again for a new vessel and set out to rejoin with his Spark, but a Primus-empowered Optimus Supreme engaged him in battle once more, and drew all of Unicron's consciousness out of Galvatron and sealed it within his own Spark.

Enraged, Galvatron prepared to destroy Unicron's Spark, but it merged with him, enlarging him again, leading to another battle with Optimus Supreme, this time bolstered by the combined energy of all his troops' Sparks. Meanwhile, Primus merged with the Super Energon, creating a foundling sun which arrived at the site of the battle. Taking control of his body for a brief moment, Galvatron made the decision to plunge himself into the infant sun to rid himself of Unicron's posession. The super energon mass, having now recieved Unicron's spark, ignited into a powerful red sun which gave new life to Alpha Q's worlds.

Primus's plan to trap Unicron in the heart of a new sun failed, and instead resulted in a [[Unicron Singularity|black hole]] (or Unicron Singularity) that threatened the multiverse. His heralds [[Ramjet (Universe)|Ramjet]] and [[Nemesis Prime (Universe)|Nemesis Prime]] travelled to Cybertron to unleash the [[Dead Matrix]] upon Primus's vulnerable essence.

Vector Prime was able to defeat Ramjet and send him into the black hole in which Unicron was trapped, while [[Sentinel Maximus]] with the help of [[Omega Prime]] was able to stop Nemesis Prime from unleashing the power of the [[Dead Matrix]] on Primus. However, [[Soundwave (Cybertron)|Soundwave]] and [[Laserbeak (Cybertron)|Laserbeak]] were able to retrieve the Dead Matrix, and they brought it to Unicron Singularity's Event Horizon. With some adjustments, the Dead Matrix was able to extract Unicron's spark from the black hole, looking much the way it did when it took over Galvatron at the end of Energon, and, after the lifeforce consumed the planet [[Yst]], the Dark God exploded from the remains reborn.

Before the dawn of time, Order and Chaos existed within an extradimensional entity known as the [[One]]. He created twin astral beings to reign over the cosmos: Primus and Unicron. Their nature differed, as Primus's lifeforce (aka the [[Allspark]]) was a multiversal singularity; existing across all Transformers realities at once (see note below), whereas Unicron existed in only one dimension at a time but could travel relatively freely between them. Primus was the Lord of Light and Order, and Unicron, the Lord of Darkness and Chaos. Unicron sought to devour everything that exists and become one with [[The Void]] at the end of all things.

''Many places in the multiverse, the true history of The One has been obscured by a myth stating that Unicron was one of the [[Lords of Chaos]] from the previous universe and has no intrinsic connection to Primus.

In combat, Primus was no match for Unicron. But Primus did manage to trap both his and Unicron's essences inside metallic planetoids. Over time, they learned to shape these prisons. Unicron formed his into [[Scale|a planet]] able to not only devour all in its path, but also capable of Transforming into a likeness of his old self. ==War of the balance==

The first conflict between Primus and Unicron occurred shortly after the creation of the first 13 Transformers. One of the original 13, who would ever afterwards be known as the [[Fallen]], betrayed Primus and became an acolyte of Unicron. Many of the first 13 were destroyed in this great battle before Unicron and the Fallen were sucked into a [[black hole]] and sealed away in a extra-dimensional limbo.

The two brothers shared a mental link. So long as Primus hid himself in slumber, so did Unicron also sleep. Their war ended, for a time, in stalemate.

Eventually, in one version of Generation 1 continuity [[Grimlock (G1)|Grimlock]], [[Jazz]], and [[Bumblebee (G1)|Bumblebee]] found themselves transported to the center of [[Cybertron_(planet)|Cybertron]]. In a battle with [[Bludgeon (G1)|Bludgeon]]'s [[Pretender]]s, a laser blast ricocheted off Grimlock and struck the essence of the sleeping Primus, causing a multiverse-shaking Primal Scream that woke Unicron and alerted him to Primus's location.

The battle between Primus and Unicron began anew. Though Unicron would sometimes be defeated, this is always temporary, and there is a whole multiverse of realities to consume. When Unicron is destroyed in one reality, he will travel to another, ready to eat again. Primus will always be waiting, hoping to incapacitate Unicron and preserve existence.

It has been suggested that both of them are, in fact, necessary for the multiverse to exist in stability.

==Evolution of the Primus/Unicron myth ==

The Primus/Unicron backstory has evolved and been rewritten a good number of times since it first originated in the Marvel Comics. The version above is the current iteration, which has slowly solidified across a wide swath of media beginning around the time of [[Armada]]. Before the Primus/Unicron mythos reached its present form it went through several distinct versions in the Marvel G1 Comics and elsewhere.

===Unicron's story===
The first time we ever heard the Primus/Unicron backstory it in the UK comic continuity, from Unicron himself. After his destruction during the events of ''[[The Transformers: The Movie]]'', his head floated through space and crashed on the planet [[Junkion (planet)|Junk]]. There, he enslaved the inhabitants to recreate his old body from their world. When the bount-um... freelance peacekeeping agent [[Death's Head]] challenged him on the astral plane, Unicron shared the story of his origin thusly:

At the dawn of the universe, when Unicron was a primal force of evil, the only one who could stand against him and his [[Dark Armies]] was Primus, Lord of the [[Light Gods]]. (Note the plural.) Primus and his fellow Light Gods stood against Unicron and his Dark Armies. Events then played out roughly as described above.

The second time the story was told was in the US book by the [[Keeper]], an ancient mechanoid who guarded Primus's head at the center of Cybertron. This telling mentions that their battle was towards the end of the era of Gods and that Primus and Unicron were the last of their respective pantheons. But Primus had to defeat Unicron before he could take his place with the other gods in the "[[Omniversal Matrix]]".

===Primus's story===
The third time the story was told was by Primus when he gathered all his children together to prepare for Unicron's coming. Here we learn for the first time that Unicron predated the current universe. Unicron had destroyed the previous universe and then slept peacefully, alone with the void. But he had not been thorough enough and some bits of the "old realms" survived. They reacted and caused the Big Bang. The sentient core of this new universe recognized the threat of Unicron and so created Primus to be his counterpart and guardian of the new creation.

===DK's story===
The first modern retelling of their origin in the DK Transformers: Ultimate Guide (which tended to focus on the then current Dreamwave continuity) added a new twist with the "One" a self-contained being of balanced order and chaos. He was curious and so created Unicron to explore the new-born universe for him. Then he sub-divided Unicron and created Primus out of him. As Primus achieved consciousness he realized Unicron had become corrupted and was now a force for chaos. Primus thus took on the role of champion of order and creation to balance things and protect existence from Unicron.

''(Primus did not exist in the Generation 1 cartoon. There, Cybertron's oldest revealed status was as a factory world of the [[Quintesson]]s who invented the Transformers, and Unicron was a product of the strange, sad little alien [[Primacron]]. After the Primal Scream, Unicron headed directly towards Cybertron. He created three [[Heralds]] to send ahead of him and prepare the Transformers for his arrival: [[Hook, Line, and Sinker]]. He also borrowed a version of Galvatron from another dimension's future in which he was successful in devouring Cybertron.

Unicron placed a mental command in some Transformers, generating a cult of Autobots and Decepticons. His worshipers gathered to attack the leader of the two united factions, which had gathered on Cybertron when they sensed Unicron drawing near. Their assassination attempt was defeated with the help of Galvatron, Unicron's wayward herald.

Unicron was so unimaginably large that the sight of him froze both Transformer factions into inaction. Unicron, disappointed that victory was this simple, tore apart the planet's surface. It was only the actions of the kidnapped Galvatron that snapped the Transformers out of their collective terror. Even the united Transformers were unable to hold Unicron off. After being fazed by the [[Neo-Knights|Neo-Knight]] [[Rapture]] and temporarily shorted out by [[Circuit Breaker]], it was [[Optimus Prime (G1)|Optimus Prime]] who flew towards Unicron and opened the Matrix. The life contained inside caused Unicron to explode. ''(That Circuit Breaker could affect Unicron at all suggests that despite the Dark God's nature and history, his body (at least this one) is ultimately 'standard' technology, albeit of a very powerful nature.)''

In his first documented appearance, Unicron was known as a [[Scale|giant Transformer]] which devoured everything in his path. After the Battle of Autobot City, [[Megatron (G1)|Megatron]] and several heavily damaged Decepticons (the [[Insecticon (G1)|Insecticons]] as well as [[Skywarp (G1)|Skywarp]] and [[Thundercracker (G1)|Thundercracker]]) were abandoned in space. Unicron reformatted Megatron into [[Galvatron (G1)|Galvatron]] and out of the damaged Decepticons, he created [[Cyclonus (G1)|Cyclonus]], [[Scourge (G1)|Scourge]], and Scourge's [[Sweeps]]. He ordered them to destroy the Autobot Matrix Of Leadership.

Galvatron returned with the Matrix, but intended to use it to make Unicron his slave. Unicron ate him. Having already eaten two of Cybertron's [[Moonbase One|moons]], Unicron attacked Cybertron. [[Shockwave]] and the rest of the Decepticons, at the time in control of Cybertron, fought back, but this had little effect. Unicron swallowed many spaceships, and one, which contained the young Autobot [[Hot Rod]] and his comrades, crashed through Unicron's eye. Hot Rod and Galvatron battled deep inside Unicron. Ultimately, Hot Rod was able to retake the Matrix, change into Rodimus Prime, defeat Galvatron, and use the Matrix to destroy Unicron. Unicron's body exploded, though its head remained somewhat intact and orbited Cybertron.

It was revealed to the [[Primitive]]s by [[Oracle (G1)|the Oracle]] that Unicron was created near the beginning of time by an ancient genius called [[Primacron]], to destroy the universe so he could remake it in his own image. But Unicron decided that he would be the one to rule the universe, not Primacron, and rebelled against his creator, wrecking Primacron's lab, destroying his assistant's body and leaving Primacron himself "broken but alive". Unicron then left, voyaging out into the vast expanse of space. {{storylink|Call of the Primitives}}

His eventual destruction was not the last the Transformers saw of Unicron; the ghost of [[Starscream (G1)|Starscream]] reactivated his severed head and entered into a bargain with Unicron, performing three labours in exchange for the restoration of his body. Starscream and Scourge gathered for Unicron [[Metroplex (G1)|Metroplex]]'s eyes (breaking one and replacing it with one from [[Trypticon]]) and Trypticon's [[Transformation Cog]], and then connected his head to Cybertron, which would become Unicron's new body. Starscream demanded that Unicron restore his body so that he could complete the connection; but once Unicron had done so, Starscream double-crossed him and refused to finish the job. Unicron's head was subsequently blown off into space by an explosion instigated by the Autobots.{{storylink|Ghost in the Machine}}

Later, when searching for a new supply of anti-electrons, the Decepticons ventured to Unicron's head, where Cyclonus and Scourge accidentally awoke the slumbering demi-god. At the same time, Grimlock, who had gained super-intelligence through an infusion of anti-electrons, had constructed the [[Technobot]]s from pieces of Unicron's head, and one of their number, [[Strafe]], severed enough of Unicron's neural connections to shut him back down.

Following his destruction in 2006, Unicron's severed lifeforce was displaced in time to Earth's distant past, prior to the Beast Wars. It rested in the pit caused by its own impact, quiescent for many millennia, until found by a Predacon known as the Hunter around the Machine Era.

Taking the name [[Shokaract]], he used this Dark Essence to conquer, ruling over an apocalyptic 32nd Century future.

Due to severe time-travel mischief, the events leading up to Shokaracts's timeline were averted when the Dark Essence fled Earth from the Beast Wars.

The Dark Essence possessed only rudimentary intelligence, lacking the full force of Unicron's personality. It appears Unicron's Spark remained with his severed head (which has a back-up spark chamber) in 2005, while his power was displaced in time.

Is it unclear if this displacement was accidental, or represents an attempt by Unicron to preserve his power.

Shokaract contained the Dark Essence within a [[Matrix of Conquest]] from which he drew his powers. This is very similar to the relationship between Primus and the [[Matrix of Leadership]], where the Matrix holds the majority of his power, leaving Primus himself weak. The Matrix of Conquest appears to be unique to Shokaract's timeline branch, and would not exist outside of it.

After Rodimus Prime opened the Matrix in Unicron, Unicron's lifeforce (the green energy seen exploding from his body) raced across time and space until it landed on the distant world of [[Gaia]], riddling itself into the planet's surface. His lifeforce caused many strange phenomenon all over the planet, and was eventually dubbed [[Angolmois]] energy.

It proved to be a powerful energy source, leaving [[Galvatron (BWII)|Galvatron]] to attempt to harvest the energy for himself. Using his massive spacecraft, the [[Nemesis (BWII)|Nemesis]], he sucked all the the Angolmois energy out of the planet and into the craft. However, after the interference of [[Lio Convoy]] and [[Lio Junior]], all the Angolmois energy was sealed into capsules and ejected from the Nemesis as it self-destructed.

[[Big Convoy]] and [[Magmatron]] then raced to collect the Angolmois capsules, as their energy effects were wreaking havoc on planets all over the galaxy. They eventually collected all the capsules only to find themselves attacked by the mysterious and freakish [[Blentron]]s. The Blentrons proved nearly invincible, and stole the capsules from each team. They released the Angolmois energy and allowed it to possess Galvatron's dead body. Unicron was reborn once more.

Unicron then absorbed the last remaining ounce of stray Angolmois energy, the Blentrons, and left to settle his score with Cybertron. The [[Maximal Elder]], [[Great Convoy]], attempted to hold Unicron off with the entire Maximal armada, but Unicron's fiery serpent mode proved too much and he effortlessly destroyed the armada and Great Convoy along with it. Unicron then possessed [[Vector Sigma]], the mother computer of [[Cybertron]], effectively possessing the planet. He then morphed the planet into his new body, fulfilling the goal he originally attempted back in 2006 (or 2010, since this is Japanese continuity).

Unicron then briefly exited Vector Sigma to deal with the last remaining Cybertronian resistance. Big Convoy, his Maximal new recruits, Lio Convoy and Magmatron all fought side-by-side against Unicron, but all they managed to do was stall him. Big Convoy then powered up his Big Cannon with his own [[Energon Matrix|Matrix]], transforming it into the Matrix Buster. Big Convoy shot Unicron with the weapon, the powerful blast seemingly destroying the Chaos Bringer. Unicron's spirit was then evicted from Vector Sigma, returning Cybertron to normal.

Disguised as Cybertron's moon, Unicron created the race of small robots known as the [[Mini-Cons]] to increase the ferocity of the Autobot/Decepticon war. When conflict exists, Unicron can feed off the energies released.

When the Mini-Cons found their way to Earth, they were followed by the Autobots and Decepticons. Unicron dispatched his minion [[Sideways]], a mysterious agent that served as the vessel for Unicron's spark in this reality, to carry on his work. Sideways escalated the conflict by manipulating control of the three Mini-Cons weapons; the [[Star Saber (Armada)|Star Saber]], the [[Skyboom]] shield and the [[Requiem Blaster]]. These weapons were the three keys that were needed to awaken Unicron.

Unbeknownst to the Autobot heroes, Unicron's body had fallen into a state of decay. Operating at low, almost undetectable energy levels, Unicron was rotting away in what was called the "Graveyard of the Universe". A spark from the past would be enough to change all of this. Alpha-Q, a Terrorcon-related alien being from a far away world, Planet Q, would awaken within the dying giant and discover that Unicron's cells had the ability to restore life, just as it did to create the mini-cons eons before.

Alpha-Q, having had his own homeworld detonated and consumed by Unicron in the past, sought to restore Unicron enough to manipulate his body into restoring the world and galaxy that he lost. Alpha-Q used the cells to restore himself to a suit of armor, as well as create Sparkless drones of his former race to carry out his deed: collect energon. As energon was collected, Unicron grew stronger.

However, Megatron's corpse and spark remained within Unicron, and he slowly siphoned off some of the gathered Energon, allowing him to be reborn in his own new body. Alpha Q jettisoned Unicron's head and escaped in it, while Megatron took over Unicron's body, and continued to gather Energon in order to rebuild Unicron to use as his ultimate weapon. As the climax of this plan neared, a joint attack by Alpha Q, the Autobots and their human allies saw all of Earth's Energon channeled into Unicron's head, which Alpha Q then rammed into Unicron's body.

The positively-charged Energon of Earth reacted with the negatively-charged Energon running through Unicron, tearing open a fissure in reality leading to a new area of space where planets Unicron consumed were recreated, and sustained through the Energon radiated from Unicron's head, which had now become a glowing red sun.

Unicron's body, damaged once more, lay in the dark reaches near the fissure, and the Decepticons began to raid Alpha Q's new planets for the Energon necessary to revive Unicron again. This time, they succeeded, and Megatron directed Unicron's body to retrieve his head, extinguishing the Energon Sun and killing Alpha Q in the process. But the power of Unicron proved too much for Megatron to control, as Unicron began to take over Megatron's body. In the ensuing battle between Unicron and the super-powered Optimus Supreme, Unicron's body was successfully destroyed.

But unbeknownst to anyone, he lived on in two forms: his miniscule Spark, and his consciousness, which lay buried in Megatron's mind. With quiet, subconscious nudging, Unicron led Megatron to a massive reservoir of "[[Super Energon]]" beneath Cybertron's surface, which transformed him into Galvatron upon his first exposure.

After a series of failed battles, Galvatron proceeded to expose himself to the Super Energon once again, and this time grew to a gigantic height. Unicron seized control of his body again for a new vessel and set out to rejoin with his Spark, but a Primus-empowered Optimus Supreme engaged him in battle once more, and drew all of Unicron's consciousness out of Galvatron and sealed it within his own Spark.

Enraged, Galvatron prepared to destroy Unicron's Spark, but it merged with him, enlarging him again, leading to another battle with Optimus Supreme, this time bolstered by the combined energy of all his troops' Sparks. Meanwhile, Primus merged with the Super Energon, creating a foundling sun which arrived at the site of the battle. Taking control of his body for a brief moment, Galvatron made the decision to plunge himself into the infant sun to rid himself of Unicron's posession. The super energon mass, having now recieved Unicron's spark, ignited into a powerful red sun which gave new life to Alpha Q's worlds.

Primus's plan to trap Unicron in the heart of a new sun failed, and instead resulted in a [[Unicron Singularity|black hole]] (or Unicron Singularity) that threatened the multiverse. His heralds [[Ramjet (Universe)|Ramjet]] and [[Nemesis Prime (Universe)|Nemesis Prime]] travelled to Cybertron to unleash the [[Dead Matrix]] upon Primus's vulnerable essence.

Vector Prime was able to defeat Ramjet and send him into the black hole in which Unicron was trapped, while [[Sentinel Maximus]] with the help of [[Omega Prime]] was able to stop Nemesis Prime from unleashing the power of the [[Dead Matrix]] on Primus. However, [[Soundwave (Cybertron)|Soundwave]] and [[Laserbeak (Cybertron)|Laserbeak]] were able to retrieve the Dead Matrix, and they brought it to Unicron Singularity's Event Horizon. With some adjustments, the Dead Matrix was able to extract Unicron's spark from the black hole, looking much the way it did when it took over Galvatron at the end of Energon, and, after the lifeforce consumed the planet [[Yst]], the Dark God exploded from the remains reborn.

Before the dawn of time, Order and Chaos existed within an extradimensional entity known as the [[One]]. He created twin astral beings to reign over the cosmos: Primus and Unicron. Their nature differed, as Primus's lifeforce (aka the [[Allspark]]) was a multiversal singularity; existing across all Transformers realities at once (see note below), whereas Unicron existed in only one dimension at a time but could travel relatively freely between them. Primus was the Lord of Light and Order, and Unicron, the Lord of Darkness and Chaos. Unicron sought to devour everything that exists and become one with [[The Void]] at the end of all things.

''Many places in the multiverse, the true history of The One has been obscured by a myth stating that Unicron was one of the [[Lords of Chaos]] from the previous universe and has no intrinsic connection to Primus.

In combat, Primus was no match for Unicron. But Primus did manage to trap both his and Unicron's essences inside metallic planetoids. Over time, they learned to shape these prisons. Unicron formed his into [[Scale|a planet]] able to not only devour all in its path, but also capable of Transforming into a likeness of his old self. Knowing that his ancient enemy still lived, Primus created the [[13 original Transformers]] from the material of the newly created planet. ==War of the balance==

The first conflict between Primus and Unicron occurred shortly after the creation of the first 13 Transformers. One of the original 13, who would ever afterwards be known as the [[Fallen]], betrayed Primus and became an acolyte of Unicron. Many of the first 13 were destroyed in this great battle before Unicron and the Fallen were sucked into a [[black hole]] and sealed away in a extra-dimensional limbo.

The two brothers shared a mental link. So long as Primus hid himself in slumber, so did Unicron also sleep. Their war ended, for a time, in stalemate.

Unicron:FOR THE LAST TIME, I AM NOT GALACTUS!!!!]]

Eventually, in one version of Generation 1 continuity [[Grimlock (G1)|Grimlock]], [[Jazz]], and [[Bumblebee (G1)|Bumblebee]] found themselves transported to the center of [[Cybertron_(planet)|Cybertron]]. In a battle with [[Bludgeon (G1)|Bludgeon]]'s [[Pretender]]s, a laser blast ricocheted off Grimlock and struck the essence of the sleeping Primus, causing a multiverse-shaking Primal Scream that woke Unicron and alerted him to Primus's location.

The battle between Primus and Unicron began anew. Though Unicron would sometimes be defeated, this is always temporary, and there is a whole multiverse of realities to consume. When Unicron is destroyed in one reality, he will travel to another, ready to eat again. Primus will always be waiting, hoping to incapacitate Unicron and preserve existence.

It has been suggested that both of them are, in fact, necessary for the multiverse to exist in stability.

==Evolution of the Primus/Unicron myth ==

The Primus/Unicron backstory has evolved and been rewritten a good number of times since it first originated in the Marvel Comics. The version above is the current iteration, which has slowly solidified across a wide swath of media beginning around the time of [[Armada]]. Before the Primus/Unicron mythos reached its present form it went through several distinct versions in the Marvel G1 Comics and elsewhere.

===Unicron's story===
The first time we ever heard the Primus/Unicron backstory it in the UK comic continuity, from Unicron himself. After his destruction during the events of ''[[The Transformers: The Movie]]'', his head floated through space and crashed on the planet [[Junkion (planet)|Junk]]. There, he enslaved the inhabitants to recreate his old body from their world. When the bount-um... freelance peacekeeping agent [[Death's Head]] challenged him on the astral plane, Unicron shared the story of his origin thusly:

At the dawn of the universe, when Unicron was a primal force of evil, the only one who could stand against him and his [[Dark Armies]] was Primus, Lord of the [[Light Gods]]. (Note the plural.) Primus and his fellow Light Gods stood against Unicron and his Dark Armies. Events then played out roughly as described above.

===The Keeper's story===
The second time the story was told was in the US book by the [[Keeper]], an ancient mechanoid who guarded Primus's head at the center of Cybertron. This telling mentions that their battle was towards the end of the era of Gods and that Primus and Unicron were the last of their respective pantheons. But Primus had to defeat Unicron before he could take his place with the other gods in the "[[Omniversal Matrix]]".

===Primus's story===
The third time the story was told was by Primus when he gathered all his children together to prepare for Unicron's coming. Here we learn for the first time that Unicron predated the current universe. Unicron had destroyed the previous universe and then slept peacefully, alone with the void. But he had not been thorough enough and some bits of the "old realms" survived. They reacted and caused the Big Bang. The sentient core of this new universe recognized the threat of Unicron and so created Primus to be his counterpart and guardian of the new creation.

===DK's story===
The first modern retelling of their origin in the DK Transformers: Ultimate Guide (which tended to focus on the then current Dreamwave continuity) added a new twist with the "One" a self-contained being of balanced order and chaos. He was curious and so created Unicron to explore the new-born universe for him. Then he sub-divided Unicron and created Primus out of him. As Primus achieved consciousness he realized Unicron had become corrupted and was now a force for chaos. Primus thus took on the role of champion of order and creation to balance things and protect existence from Unicron.

After the Primal Scream, Unicron headed directly towards Cybertron. He created three [[Heralds]] to send ahead of him and prepare the Transformers for his arrival: [[Hook, Line, and Sinker]]. He also borrowed a version of Galvatron from another dimension's future in which he was successful in devouring Cybertron.

Unicron placed a mental command in some Transformers, generating a cult of Autobots and Decepticons. His worshipers gathered to attack the leader of the two united factions, which had gathered on Cybertron when they sensed Unicron drawing near. Their assassination attempt was defeated with the help of Galvatron, Unicron's wayward herald.

Unicron was so unimaginably large that the sight of him froze both Transformer factions into inaction. Unicron, disappointed that victory was this simple, tore apart the planet's surface. It was only the actions of the kidnapped Galvatron that snapped the Transformers out of their collective terror. Even the united Transformers were unable to hold Unicron off. After being fazed by the [[Neo-Knights|Neo-Knight]] [[Rapture]] and temporarily shorted out by [[Circuit Breaker]], it was [[Optimus Prime (G1)|Optimus Prime]] who flew towards Unicron and opened the Matrix. The life contained inside caused Unicron to explode. In his first documented appearance, Unicron was known as a [[Scale|giant Transformer]] which devoured everything in his path. After the Battle of Autobot City, [[Megatron (G1)|Megatron]] and several heavily damaged Decepticons (the [[Insecticon (G1)|Insecticons]] as well as [[Skywarp (G1)|Skywarp]] and [[Thundercracker (G1)|Thundercracker]]) were abandoned in space. Unicron reformatted Megatron into [[Galvatron (G1)|Galvatron]] and out of the damaged Decepticons, he created [[Cyclonus (G1)|Cyclonus]], [[Scourge (G1)|Scourge]], and Scourge's [[Sweeps]]. He ordered them to destroy the Autobot Matrix Of Leadership.

Galvatron returned with the Matrix, but intended to use it to make Unicron his slave. Unicron ate him. Having already eaten two of Cybertron's [[Moonbase One|moons]], Unicron attacked Cybertron. [[Shockwave]] and the rest of the Decepticons, at the time in control of Cybertron, fought back, but this had little effect. Unicron swallowed many spaceships, and one, which contained the young Autobot [[Hot Rod]] and his comrades, crashed through Unicron's eye. Hot Rod and Galvatron battled deep inside Unicron. Ultimately, Hot Rod was able to retake the Matrix, change into Rodimus Prime, defeat Galvatron, and use the Matrix to destroy Unicron. Unicron's body exploded, though its head remained somewhat intact and orbited Cybertron.

It was revealed to the [[Primitive]]s by [[Oracle (G1)|the Oracle]] that Unicron was created near the beginning of time by an ancient genius called [[Primacron]], to destroy the universe so he could remake it in his own image. But Unicron decided that he would be the one to rule the universe, not Primacron, and rebelled against his creator, wrecking Primacron's lab, destroying his assistant's body and leaving Primacron himself "broken but alive". Unicron then left, voyaging out into the vast expanse of space. {{storylink|Call of the Primitives}}

His eventual destruction was not the last the Transformers saw of Unicron; the ghost of [[Starscream (G1)|Starscream]] reactivated his severed head and entered into a bargain with Unicron, performing three labours in exchange for the restoration of his body. Starscream and Scourge gathered for Unicron [[Metroplex (G1)|Metroplex]]'s eyes (breaking one and replacing it with one from [[Trypticon]]) and Trypticon's [[Transformation Cog]], and then connected his head to Cybertron, which would become Unicron's new body. Starscream demanded that Unicron restore his body so that he could complete the connection; but once Unicron had done so, Starscream double-crossed him and refused to finish the job. Unicron's head was subsequently blown off into space by an explosion instigated by the Autobots.{{storylink|Ghost in the Machine}}

Later, when searching for a new supply of anti-electrons, the Decepticons ventured to Unicron's head, where Cyclonus and Scourge accidentally awoke the slumbering demi-god. At the same time, Grimlock, who had gained super-intelligence through an infusion of anti-electrons, had constructed the [[Technobot]]s from pieces of Unicron's head, and one of their number, [[Strafe]], severed enough of Unicron's neural connections to shut him back down.

Unlike the comics portrayal, Unicron is shown to be a large transforming machine and not a godlike being.

Following his destruction in 2006, Unicron's severed lifeforce was displaced in time to Earth's distant past, prior to the Beast Wars. It rested in the pit caused by its own impact, quiescent for many millennia, until found by a Predacon known as the Hunter around the Machine Era.

Taking the name [[Shokaract]], he used this Dark Essence to conquer, ruling over an apocalyptic 32nd Century future.

Due to severe time-travel mischief, the events leading up to Shokaracts's timeline were averted when the Dark Essence fled Earth from the Beast Wars.

The Dark Essence possessed only rudimentary intelligence, lacking the full force of Unicron's personality. It appears Unicron's Spark remained with his severed head (which has a back-up spark chamber) in 2005, while his power was displaced in time.

Is it unclear if this displacement was accidental, or represents an attempt by Unicron to preserve his power.

Shokaract contained the Dark Essence within a [[Matrix of Conquest]] from which he drew his powers. This is very similar to the relationship between Primus and the [[Matrix of Leadership]], where the Matrix holds the majority of his power, leaving Primus himself weak. The Matrix of Conquest appears to be unique to Shokaract's timeline branch, and would not exist outside of it.

After Rodimus Prime opened the Matrix in Unicron, Unicron's lifeforce (the green energy seen exploding from his body) raced across time and space until it landed on the distant world of [[Gaia]], riddling itself into the planet's surface. His lifeforce caused many strange phenomenon all over the planet, and was eventually dubbed [[Angolmois]] energy.

It proved to be a powerful energy source, leaving [[Galvatron (BWII)|Galvatron]] to attempt to harvest the energy for himself. Using his massive spacecraft, the [[Nemesis (BWII)|Nemesis]], he sucked all the the Angolmois energy out of the planet and into the craft. However, after the interference of [[Lio Convoy]] and [[Lio Junior]], all the Angolmois energy was sealed into capsules and ejected from the Nemesis as it self-destructed.

[[Big Convoy]] and [[Magmatron]] then raced to collect the Angolmois capsules, as their energy effects were wreaking havoc on planets all over the galaxy. They eventually collected all the capsules only to find themselves attacked by the mysterious and freakish [[Blentron]]s. The Blentrons proved nearly invincible, and stole the capsules from each team. They released the Angolmois energy and allowed it to possess Galvatron's dead body. Unicron was reborn once more.

Unicron then absorbed the last remaining ounce of stray Angolmois energy, the Blentrons, and left to settle his score with Cybertron. The [[Maximal Elder]], [[Great Convoy]], attempted to hold Unicron off with the entire Maximal armada, but Unicron's fiery serpent mode proved too much and he effortlessly destroyed the armada and Great Convoy along with it. Unicron then possessed [[Vector Sigma]], the mother computer of [[Cybertron]], effectively possessing the planet. He then morphed the planet into his new body, fulfilling the goal he originally attempted back in 2006 (or 2010, since this is Japanese continuity).

Unicron then briefly exited Vector Sigma to deal with the last remaining Cybertronian resistance. Big Convoy, his Maximal new recruits, Lio Convoy and Magmatron all fought side-by-side against Unicron, but all they managed to do was stall him. Big Convoy then powered up his Big Cannon with his own [[Energon Matrix|Matrix]], transforming it into the Matrix Buster. Big Convoy shot Unicron with the weapon, the powerful blast seemingly destroying the Chaos Bringer. Unicron's spirit was then evicted from Vector Sigma, returning Cybertron to normal.

Primal was able to set free the captives inside Unicron and begin a new war between the [[Minions of Unicron]] and the [[Children of Primus]].

Unicron sent forth heralds to prepare the Armadaverse for his arrival after having devoured the Cybertron of a previously unseen dimension. His heralds included versions of [[Bludgeon (G1)|Bludgeon]], [[Dirge (G1)|Dirge]], [[Galvatron (G1)|Galvatron]], [[Scourge (G1)|Scourge]], and [[Thunderwing (G1)|Thunderwing]].

He also sent the Autobots the near-death [[Optimus Prime (Worlds Collide)|Optimus Prime]] of that other dimension as a forewarning.

Unicron was ultimately defeated by [[Optimus Prime (Armada)|Jet Optimus]], the combined form of the Armadaverse's Optimus Prime and [[Jetfire (Armada)|Jetfire]], who were infused with extra Mini-Con power. Disguised as Cybertron's moon, Unicron created the race of small robots known as the [[Mini-Cons]] to increase the ferocity of the Autobot/Decepticon war. When conflict exists, Unicron can feed off the energies released.

When the Mini-Cons found their way to Earth, they were followed by the Autobots and Decepticons. Unicron dispatched his minion [[Sideways]], a mysterious agent that served as the vessel for Unicron's spark in this reality, to carry on his work. Sideways escalated the conflict by manipulating control of the three Mini-Cons weapons; the [[Star Saber (Armada)|Star Saber]], the [[Skyboom]] shield and the [[Requiem Blaster]]. These weapons were the three keys that were needed to awaken Unicron.

As Unicron turned on Cybertron, the Mini-Cons broke free of his control and deactivated him, but when [[Megatron (Armada)|Galvatron]] then began his final battle with [[Optimus Prime (Armada)|Optimus Prime]], the hatred and ferocity of the fight awoke Unicron once more.

To end the circle of hate that gave Unicron life, Galvatron allowed himself to be consumed by the monster, and in a brilliant flash of light, Unicron apparently ceased to exist.

Unbeknownst to the Autobot heroes, Unicron's body had fallen into a state of decay. Operating at low, almost undetectable energy levels, Unicron was rotting away in what was called the "Graveyard of the Universe". A spark from the past would be enough to change all of this. Alpha-Q, a Terrorcon-related alien being from a far away world, Planet Q, would awaken within the dying giant and discover that Unicron's cells had the ability to restore life, just as it did to create the mini-cons eons before.

Alpha-Q, having had his own homeworld detonated and consumed by Unicron in the past, sought to restore Unicron enough to manipulate his body into restoring the world and galaxy that he lost. Alpha-Q used the cells to restore himself to a suit of armor, as well as create Sparkless drones of his former race to carry out his deed: collect energon. As energon was collected, Unicron grew stronger.

However, Megatron's corpse and spark remained within Unicron, and he slowly siphoned off some of the gathered Energon, allowing him to be reborn in his own new body. Alpha Q jettisoned Unicron's head and escaped in it, while Megatron took over Unicron's body, and continued to gather Energon in order to rebuild Unicron to use as his ultimate weapon. As the climax of this plan neared, a joint attack by Alpha Q, the Autobots and their human allies saw all of Earth's Energon channeled into Unicron's head, which Alpha Q then rammed into Unicron's body.

The positively-charged Energon of Earth reacted with the negatively-charged Energon running through Unicron, tearing open a fissure in reality leading to a new area of space where planets Unicron consumed were recreated, and sustained through the Energon radiated from Unicron's head, which had now become a glowing red sun.

Unicron's body, damaged once more, lay in the dark reaches near the fissure, and the Decepticons began to raid Alpha Q's new planets for the Energon necessary to revive Unicron again. This time, they succeeded, and Megatron directed Unicron's body to retrieve his head, extinguishing the Energon Sun and killing Alpha Q in the process. But the power of Unicron proved too much for Megatron to control, as Unicron began to take over Megatron's body. In the ensuing battle between Unicron and the super-powered Optimus Supreme, Unicron's body was successfully destroyed.

But unbeknownst to anyone, he lived on in two forms: his miniscule Spark, and his consciousness, which lay buried in Megatron's mind. With quiet, subconscious nudging, Unicron led Megatron to a massive reservoir of "[[Super Energon]]" beneath Cybertron's surface, which transformed him into Galvatron upon his first exposure.

After a series of failed battles, Galvatron proceeded to expose himself to the Super Energon once again, and this time grew to a gigantic height. Unicron seized control of his body again for a new vessel and set out to rejoin with his Spark, but a Primus-empowered Optimus Supreme engaged him in battle once more, and drew all of Unicron's consciousness out of Galvatron and sealed it within his own Spark.

Enraged, Galvatron prepared to destroy Unicron's Spark, but it merged with him, enlarging him again, leading to another battle with Optimus Supreme, this time bolstered by the combined energy of all his troops' Sparks. Meanwhile, Primus merged with the Super Energon, creating a foundling sun which arrived at the site of the battle. Taking control of his body for a brief moment, Galvatron made the decision to plunge himself into the infant sun to rid himself of Unicron's posession. The super energon mass, having now recieved Unicron's spark, ignited into a powerful red sun which gave new life to Alpha Q's worlds.

Primus's plan to trap Unicron in the heart of a new sun failed, and instead resulted in a [[Unicron Singularity|black hole]] (or Unicron Singularity) that threatened the multiverse. His heralds [[Ramjet (Universe)|Ramjet]] and [[Nemesis Prime (Universe)|Nemesis Prime]] travelled to Cybertron to unleash the [[Dead Matrix]] upon Primus's vulnerable essence.

Vector Prime was able to defeat Ramjet and send him into the black hole in which Unicron was trapped, while [[Sentinel Maximus]] with the help of [[Omega Prime]] was able to stop Nemesis Prime from unleashing the power of the [[Dead Matrix]] on Primus. However, [[Soundwave (Cybertron)|Soundwave]] and [[Laserbeak (Cybertron)|Laserbeak]] were able to retrieve the Dead Matrix, and they brought it to Unicron Singularity's Event Horizon. With some adjustments, the Dead Matrix was able to extract Unicron's spark from the black hole, looking much the way it did when it took over Galvatron at the end of Energon, and, after the lifeforce consumed the planet [[Yst]], the Dark God exploded from the remains reborn.

: Unicron from the [[Armada (toyline)|''Armada'' toyline]] is an orange and transparent purple Supreme-size toy that transforms into a planet. It features many Mini-Con [[Powerlinx]] plugs on the planet's rings, and "chomping" jaws activated by moving the mandibles. The packed-in Mini-Con [[Dead End (Armada)|Dead End]] in moon-mode plugs into a specially-shaped socket on Unicron's planet form, just above his gaping maw. Powerlinx plugs on his sides activate the triple spring-loaded missile launchers, which end up on his robot mode legs. In robot mode, he has hidden compartments for Mini-Cons in his robot-mode legs and abdomen. One Powerlinx plug on the back of the robot mode activates blinking eye lights and a cannon that bursts from the chest and shoots a missile. A button on the top of the head also activates the blinking eye lights. Pushing his right hand back slightly into the cuff causes it to light up.

Millions of years ago, the civil war on [[Cybertron (planet)|Cybertron]] reached a bloody stalemate as both Autobots and Decepticons augmented their forces with a race of small power-enhancing Transformers known as the [[Mini-Cons]]. In the end, a truce was settled where the Mini-Cons would be exiled, never to be used as tools of war again. However, Megatron betrayed the truce, attacking with the full force of the Decepticon fleet in an attempt to capture all the Mini-Cons in one fell swoop. The Autobots, anticipating this turn of events, launched their fleet to protect the fleeing [[Exodus]] Mini-Con ship as it warped away.

In the year 2010, Cybertron recieves a Mini-Con homing beacon from a small primative world known as [[Earth]] unwittingly activated by a group of human children. Megatron leads his most loyal Decepticon warriors to his planet in search of the Mini-Cons only to discover his arch-enemy [[Optimus Prime (Armada)|Optimus Prime]] has followed to stop him. {{Storylink|First Encounter}}

After a tactical retreat, it is revealed that the Decepticons have establishing a base in the ruined hulk of the Mini-Con ship on Earth's [[moon (moon)|moon]]. While pondering his next move, Megatron discovers a [[Mini-Con storage panel]] buried in the moon dust. Activating it, he discovers it is his old Mini-Con partner, [[Leader-1]]. Counting upon this as his edge over the Autobots, he reconfigures the vehicle modes of his forces and sets out to capture the human children and their Mini-Con friends. After surrounding them, he is thwarted yet again by the timely arrival of Optimus Prime and the other Autobots. Megatron went on to run a sucessful campaign, regularly capturing Mini-Cons and successfully combining the first two Mini-Con weapons, the [[Star Saber (Armada)|Star Saber]] and the [[Skyboom (Armada)|Skyboom Shield]]. Through the machinations of his tactician, [[Thrust (Armada)|Thrust]] (who was at the time indirectly being manipulated by [[Unicron]]), Megatron then acquired the final weapon, the [[Requiem Blaster]], which was with the other two served to power the newly-built [[Hydra Cannon]]. The destructive force of his new weapon was unleashed against Earth, but [[Optimus Prime (Armada)|Optimus Prime]] took the blast to save the planet, killing himself in the process.

Prime's death plunged Megatron into a deep depression, having lost his greatest opponent without the chance to finish him with his own hands. Thankfully for all concerned, the Mini-Cons were able to resurrect Optimus, restoring Megatron to his former self - but he soon underwent another change that allowed him to surpass all he had been, when he was among the Transformers who had their powers boosted by their Mini-Cons. Renaming himself "Galvatron," he returned to Cybertron with a renewed vigour for conquest. However, the emergence of the threat of Unicron was ignored by Galvatron, forcing his lieutenant [[Starscream (Armada)|Starscream]] to sacrifice himself to make his leader see the truth, and Galvatron again came to fear the end of his war in the face of Unicron's power. Galvatron entered Unicron's body along with Optimus Prime, and was absorbed into the demi-god's body and mind, but when the Autobots' human allies freed the Mini-Cons from Unicron's thrall, Galvatron too was freed. Believing the threat of Unicron to be over, he challenged Prime to a final duel. However, the energies released in the battle reawakened Unicron, and Galvatron saw that the only way to end the circle was to destroy himself - sacrificing his life rather than live in an era of peace, Galvatron plunged himself into Unicron's maw, and in a flash, the two seemingly ceased to exist.

Although he was believed dead by both the Autobots and Decepticons, Megatron, like Unicron, had survived the final battle, his body now a decayed husk, absorbed into the equally damaged body of Unicron, where it lay for ten years. When the being called [[Alpha Q]] began his plan to re-energise Unicron, Megatron saw his opportunity, syphoning off some of the [[energon]] that Alpha Q's [[Terrorcon (Energon)|Terrorcons]] stole, working towards his own rebirth. To turn the Decepticons to his side, Alpha Q forged a sword from Megatron's [[spark]], but when an enraged [[Scorponok (Energon)|Scorponok]] stabbed Megatron's corpse with the blade, Megatron was born anew. Taking the sword for his own, he proceeded to take over Unicron's body, sending Alpha Q fleeing in Unicron's head, and restarted his campaign against Earth and the Autobots, seeking energon to reactivate Unicron, who he would use as the ultimate weapon.

Megatron eventually succeeded in bringing Unicron to the vicinity of Cybertron and transforming the planet-eater to robot mode. However, in an attempt to stop him, Alpha Q rammed Unicron's head, charged with the positive energon of Earth, into Unicron's body. The resultant reaction between Earth's energon and the negatively-charged energon that powered Unicron tore a rupture in reality that led to a new region of space where Alpha Q recreated all the planets Unicron had consumed. Megatron immediately saw these new worlds as targets to acquire more energon, and after another series of attacks, Megatron successfully amassed enough to fully reanimate Unicron. However, the chaos-bringer's consciousness invaded Megatron's body, taking over his mind.

Although [[Optimus Supreme]] was able to destroy Unicron's body, his mind lived on, buried within Megatron, subtly directing him to attack Cybertron and uncover a reservoir of Super Energon beneath the planet's surface. Megatron immersed himself in the powerful liquid and underwent another power boost, once again taking the name of Galvatron. Quickly acquiring control of the planet, he forced the Autobots underground with energon gas and used the planet's Energon Towers to relocate Cybertron to Alpha Q's region of space. Once there, Galvatron once again soaked himself in Super Energon, growing to a colossal height, but as he did so, Unicron's influence totally seized control of his mind and directed him out into space to re-merge with his spark. Optimus Prime forced him into a battle, knowing that Galvatron's hatred of him would force his consciousness to surface again, and when it did, Prime drained Unicron's influence from Galvatron, sealing it within himself.

Enraged by Unicron's manipulations, Galvatron intended to destroy Unicron's spark, but wound up being possessed by it once more. While struggling to fight the control of Unicron, he was confronted by Optimus Prime once again, and rather than fight him, he plunged himself into the foundling sun created by Primus, igniting the star and once again seemingly destroying himself rather than allow Unicron victory.

Ten years later, Primus's plan to imprison Unicron's spark at the heart of the sun ultimately failed, leading the star to collapse, creating a [[Unicron Singularity|black hole]] which threatened the existence of Cybertron, and the rest of the universe. Escaping his confinement within the sun, Megatron enhanced his powers by merging his body with the remnants of Unicron's shattered form, increasing his power with the dark god's own.

As the Autobots prepared to evacuate Cybertron in the wake of disasters caused by the black hole, Megatron struck, approaching the unprotected ancient Transformer [[Vector Prime]], and stealing a holographic map containing locations of the [[Cyber Planet Key]]s that could be used to seal the black hole. Operating out of a fiery pocket dimension, Megatron schemed to used the world-shaping power of the Cyber Planet Keys and their focal [[Omega Lock]] to accelerate the universal degeneration created by the black hole, destroying the universe and using the keys to remake it in his own image.

Leaving [[Starscream (Armada)|Starscream]] and [[Thundercracker (Armada)|Thundercracker]] to search for the Omega Lock on Earth, Megatron located the resting place of the first Cyber Planet Key on [[Velocitron]], the Speed Planet. Recruiting the native troublemakers [[Ransack (Cybertron)|Ransack]] and [[Crumplezone (Cybertron)|Crumplezone]] to do his bidding, he deduced that the planet's racing trophy was the key. After failing to defeat planet ruler [[Override (Cybertron)|Override]] in a race to learn more, however, he left Ransack and Crumplezone to compete in tournaments and win the trophy and turned his attention to the [[Jungle Planet]], home of the second Cyber Planet Key, where he ingratiated himself with planet ruler [[Scourge (Cybertron)|Scourge]]. Both missions ultimately ended in failure, however, when the Autobots acquired the keys.

Attempting to find the third key, Megatron discovered that he had been betrayed by Starscream when the planet map - in reality, a duplicate switched out by Starscream - led him to a dead sector of space and sealed him within a metallic sphere. Scourge was able to liberate him a short time later, but in that time, Starscream had obtained the third Cyber Planet Key, from Earth, for himself, along with the Omega Lock and other keys. Megatron made a beeline for his treacherous lieutenant, but was intercepted by the Autobots [[Hot Shot (Armada)|Hot Shot]], [[Red Alert (Armada)|Red Alert]] and [[Scattorshot (Cybertron)|Scattorshot]], who intended to hold him off until the other Autobots could stop Starscream. Starscream's attempts to harness the Earth Key, however, caused a release of its energies which endowed Megatron with a new Cyber Key power - the "Death Machine Gun," which he used to mow down the Autobots in his path.

The Autobots managed to retake the keys from Starscream, but a further attack from Megatron saw the Decepticon leader steal them out from under Optimus Prime's nose and retreat into his pocket dimension. Prime pursued him through the portal and defeated him in a pitched battle, reacquiring the lock and returning to Cybertron. As Megatron attempted to follow him, Vector Prime combined his portal-opening powers with the Cyber Planet Keys and collapsed Megatron's dimension in upon itself, destroying the villain.

This was not to be the end for Megatron, however, as the power of his Unicron armor sustained him as a ghost-like entity composed of pure darkness. In this state, he rematerialised on Cybertron and used Unicron's reformatting powers to upgrade the injured Crumplezone into Dark Crumplezone. As he came under attack from the Autobot [[Leobreaker]], his regeneration completed and his physical body was restored, even as he used the remainder of the lingering darkness to create an evil doppleganger of Leobreaker, [[Nemesis Breaker]], out of the Autobots own dark thoughts. Merging with Nemesis Breaker to form Dark Claw Mode, Megatron battled Optimus Prime and Leobreaker's Savage Claw Mode and made a further play for the Omega Lock, until news of the location of the fourth and final Cyber Planet Key led him to withdraw.

Guided through a spatial warp by the mysterious [[Soundwave (Cybertron)|Soundwave]] to [[Gigantion]], the Giant Planet, home of the final key, Megatron engaged the world's leader, [[Metroplex (Cybertron)|Metroplex]], in battle. Much to his surprise, however, he was utterly defeated in seconds. Consumed with rage, the power of Unicron within his armour reached out and detected the energies of the Giant Planet's Cyber Planet Key, drawing upon them and infusing Megatron's body with them. Attacking the Autobots in a dark, shadowed form, he decimated most of their forces before being confronted by Optimus Prime and completing his transformation - once again, Megatron had become Galvatron.

After taking revenge on Metroplex, Galvatron joined the race to acquire the Giant Play key, which included a rematch the reborn Hot Shot, Red Alert and Scattorshot. Yet again, the Autobots were able to acquire the key, but Galvatron then stole the completed Omega Lock, only to be attacked by Starscream, who battled with Galvatron for possession of the artifact. Galvatron ultimately claimed victory in the battle, with the sheer amount of energy released in the clash actually blasting Starscream (Along with [[Sideways]] and Soundwave who were trying to nick the lock) into another universe. With the lock and keys now in his hands, Galvatron returned to the Black Hole, where he was confronted and finally defeated by the five planet leaders.

Having had ultimate power torn from his grasp, Galvatron contemplated giving up, but when Starscream's spirit reached out to him and goaded him into continuing his vendetta, he challenged Optimus Prime to one final duel. Battling on Cybertron's moon, Galvatron generated a massive blade of dark energy, which Prime countered with Vector Prime's sword. As the two old enemies charged towards each other in a final strike, Prime impaled Galvatron, whose body crumbled and dissolved as he met his end once and for all.

In a montage sequence at the conclusion of the series, however, Galvatron's evil proved eternal, as, beyond the veil of time and space, his spark battled with that of Vector Prime.

Millions of years ago, a young Optimus Prime fought with a great Decepticon warrior known as [[Scavenger (Armada)|Scavenger]]. So often were their clashes, and so familiar were they to each other, the pair eventually became friends, and Scavenger signed up with the Autobots. Seeing great potential in the young Autobot leader, Scavenger taught Optimus Prime how to fight in hand-to-hand combat. Later, veteran Autobot [[Landmine (Energon)|Landmine]] trained Optimus in [[metallikato]] shortly before leaving [[Cybertron]] with [[Rodimus (Energon)|Rodimus]]. Optimus later notes that their training made him the warrior and soldier he is today. {{Storylink|Trust (Armada episode)|Trust}}

Many years later, it is a more mature Optimus Prime that leads a small Autobot unit to [[Earth]] after the activation of the [[Mini-Con]] homing beacon. This beacon signaled to all the Transformers on Cybertron that the much-coveted Mini-Cons had survived their million years-long disappearance. After warping to Earth, Optimus saves [[Rad White|three]] [[Carlos Lopez|human]] [[Alexis|children]] from the [[Decepticon]] leader, [[Megatron (Armada)|Megatron]], who arrived on the alien world first.

Befriending these children, he introduces his crew of Autobots to them. The children aid Prime as he leads his crew around the world, searching for the long-lost Mini-Con Transformers, before the Decepticon forces can take them and use them for their own evil deeds.

Soon afterwards, both the Autobots and Decepticons detect a Mini-Con signal located in the [[Grand Canyon]]. With the help of the kids, Optimus Prime manages to pinpoint the location of the Mini-Con panel before he is confronted by [[Megatron (Armada)|Megatron]], powerlinked to [[Leader-1]]. Outgunned, Optimus Prime is saved when Starscream arrogantly underestimates the [[Street Action Mini-Con Team|Street Action Team's]] combined form of [[Perceptor (Armada)|Perceptor]]. This distraction gives Optimus the opportunity to activate the Mini-Con panel, revealing that its occupant is [[Sparkplug (Armada)|Sparkplug]], Optimus Prime's old Mini-Con partner and friend. Through the treachery of [[Sideways]] and [[Thrust (Armada)|Thrust]], the Decepticons manage to secure all three of the [[Star Saber (Armada)|legendary]] [[Skyboom Shield|Mini-Con]] [[Requiem Blaster|weapons]] that form the [[Hydra Cannon]], the most powerful weapon in the universe. Mounting their new doomsday device aboard a starship, Megatron decides to wipe out the Autobot base on Earth, regardless of the massive collateral damage to the planet itself. Optimus Prime and Jetfire launch a pre-emptive strike against the warship in the hopes of disabling the weapon and rescuing the Mini-Cons. Galvatron is drawn towards Unicron's maw, with Prime holding onto his tank treads, telling him to hold on. His nemesis then makes the decision to sacrifice his life, giving Prime a final victory, so that Unicron may be destroyed and their race will survive.

Earth sends a delegation to Cybertron, consisting of the three kids and [[Dr. Brian Jones]], the foremost expert in the newly discovered ore [[energon]] that both worlds covet.

Jones had brought along his young son, [[Kicker|Chad]] (also known as 'Kicker'), who was frightened by the tall, menacing robots. When the boy ran away to a ruined and abandoned part of Cybertron, Optimus Prime gave chase, warning Kicker that the area was strictly off limits. The boy accidently fell and found his way into a massive darkened chamber where an energy being known as [[Primus]] saves him. Optimus Prime finds his way into the chamber just as Primus evolves the human child. After retrieving a Mini-Con escape pod in Alaska, he is suddenly pulled into an alternate reality Cybertron, one in which Unicron has already decimated the planet and is preparing to return and consume it. Millions of years ago, a young Optimus Prime fought with a great Decepticon warrior known as [[Scavenger (Armada)|Scavenger]]. So often were their clashes, and so familiar were they to each other, the pair eventually became friends, and Scavenger signed up with the Autobots. Seeing great potential in the young Autobot leader, Scavenger taught Optimus Prime how to fight in hand-to-hand combat. Later, veteran Autobot [[Landmine (Energon)|Landmine]] trained Optimus in [[metallikato]] shortly before leaving [[Cybertron]] with [[Rodimus (Energon)|Rodimus]]. Optimus later notes that their training made him the warrior and soldier he is today. {{Storylink|Trust (Armada episode)|Trust}}

Many years later, it is a more mature Optimus Prime that leads a small Autobot unit to [[Earth]] after the activation of the [[Mini-Con]] homing beacon. This beacon signaled to all the Transformers on Cybertron that the much-coveted Mini-Cons had survived their million years-long disappearance. After warping to Earth, Optimus saves [[Rad White|three]] [[Carlos Lopez|human]] [[Alexis|children]] from the [[Decepticon]] leader, [[Megatron (Armada)|Megatron]], who arrived on the alien world first.

Later, after the Decepticons had reformatted themselves into suitable new vehicle modes, Optimus Prime saves them again, joined by his two subordinates [[Red Alert (Armada)|Red Alert]] and [[Hot Shot (Armada)|Hot Shot]]. {{Storylink|First Encounter}}

Befriending these children, he introduces his crew of Autobots to them. The children aid Prime as he leads his crew around the world, searching for the long-lost Mini-Con Transformers, before the Decepticon forces can take them and use them for their own evil deeds.

Soon afterwards, both the Autobots and Decepticons detect a Mini-Con signal located in the [[Grand Canyon]]. With the help of the kids, Optimus Prime manages to pinpoint the location of the Mini-Con panel before he is confronted by [[Megatron (Armada)|Megatron]], powerlinked to [[Leader-1]]. Outgunned, Optimus Prime is saved when Starscream arrogantly underestimates the [[Street Action Mini-Con Team|Street Action Team's]] combined form of [[Perceptor (Armada)|Perceptor]]. This distraction gives Optimus the opportunity to activate the Mini-Con panel, revealing that its occupant is [[Sparkplug (Armada)|Sparkplug]], Optimus Prime's old Mini-Con partner and friend. Together they Powerlink, activating Optimus's powerful Maximum Blast which sends the Decepticons into retreat. {{Storylink|Comrade}}

Through the treachery of [[Sideways]] and [[Thrust (Armada)|Thrust]], the Decepticons manage to secure all three of the [[Star Saber (Armada)|legendary]] [[Skyboom Shield|Mini-Con]] [[Requiem Blaster|weapons]] that form the [[Hydra Cannon]], the most powerful weapon in the universe. Mounting their new doomsday device aboard a starship, Megatron decides to wipe out the Autobot base on Earth, regardless of the massive collateral damage to the planet itself. Optimus Prime and Jetfire launch a pre-emptive strike against the warship in the hopes of disabling the weapon and rescuing the Mini-Cons. Under the leadership of Hot Shot, the other Autobots give chase to the Decepticons aboard the [[Axalon (Armada)|Axalon]]. Galvatron is drawn towards Unicron's maw, with Prime holding onto his tank treads, telling him to hold on. His nemesis then makes the decision to sacrifice his life, giving Prime a final victory, so that Unicron may be destroyed and their race will survive.
