Beachcomber has a hard time reconciling his love of peace and freedom for all creatures with the need to combat those who threaten it. Furthermore, however just the cause for which it was fought, the gruesome and destructive aftermath of any battle sickens him to the spark.

Sometimes, when the internal struggle gets too heavy, he simply has to wander into the wilderness and cleanse his soul. Even there, far from civilization, he sometimes finds strange substances to aid the Autobot cause, for Beachcomber is a skilled naturalist, and geology is his specialty, man. He often tries to preserve or even to hide these discoveries, but he has seen too much evil done by the ruthless Decepticons to conceal any possible source of aid completely from his allies.

Beachcomber's geology tools include a wide array of sensors (magnetic, seismic, sonic, infrared) and a 'sonic pick' which can cut through rock. Beachcomber can use his magnetic sensors to navigate like a compass, but local magnetic disturbances can cause this to lead him astray. His sonic probes possess only limited range. <!--Attack of the Insecticons, if you're wondering.-->

Beachcombers G1 figure was one of the smaller figures of the line standing a mere three inches tall. He's surprisingly show and comic accurate however. Dark blue makes up his legs, arms, and head, with grey for the upper legs and silver for the chest. He has limited articulation having only shoulder and knee joints. The figure came with no weapons. The figure came in several variants, one with Hasbro stamped across the left arm and one without (both of these versions had the Takara stamp on the back of the head), with and without the rubsign which had begun to appear that year, as well as with and without the minispy figures that debuted the rubsigns and were packaged with the various mini cars.

Generation 2
* Beachcomber (Mini Vehicle, 1993)

Generation 2 Beachcomber used the exact same mold as his G1 counterpart, however this time around the blue was replaced with a chrome green and the grey of the upper legs and lamps was replaced with neon red, the silver of the main body remained the same. This version had the copyright information stamped on its left arm. A rare variant exists that may have been a testshot run with grey legs. These figures were apparently given out internally by Hasbro as Christmas ornaments as they have been found bagged with a string attached and a card reading "Transformers Christmas ornament" on one side and "Merry Christmas from the Boys' Toys Marketing" on the other.

Beachcomber's geology tools include a wide array of sensors (magnetic, seismic, sonic, infared) and a 'sonic pick' which can cut through rock. Beachcomber can use his mangetic sensors to navigate like a compass, but local magnetic disturbances can cause this to lead him astray. His sonic probes posess only limited range.
* Beachcomber (Mini Vehicle, 1993)

These figures were apparently given out internally by Hasbro as Christmas ornaments as they have been found bagged with a string attached and a card reading "Merry Christmas from the Boys' Toys Marketing"
Beachcomber's geology tools include a wide array of sensors (magnetic, seismic, sonic, infared) and a 'sonic pick' which can cut through rock. He was released in 1985 as part of the second year of toys and had at least two variants, one with Hasbro stamped across the left arm and one without, both versions had the Takara stamp on the back of the head. Also he came with and without the rubsign which had begun to appear that year.

Generation 2
* Beachcomber (Mini Vehicle, 1993)

These figures were apparently given out internally by Hasbro as Christmas ornaments as they have been found bagged with a string attached and a card reading "Merry Christmas from the Boys' Toys Marketing"
He showed up out of nowhere in Season 2. Once he found a lagoon full of Electrum.

He also appeared in group shots from time to time.
Marvel Comics continuity
Beachcomber was a member of Perceptor's resistance cell on Cybertron, and with several comrades was accidentally transported to Earth after the raid on Darkmount.

Find Your Fate Junior
Attack of the Insecticons
Beachcomer had to find a path to the surface fromt he cave system the Autobots were trapped in. He explored the system of udnerground lakes, marveling at the many strange and things that lived there. While recharging the Sun-Pak on the surface, he was attacked by Kickback, and had to be saved by Sparkplug. How humiliating.

In the 'unsucessful' ending to this multipath adventure, Beachcomber became lost when his magnetic sensors erroneously led him directly to Megatron. He did not regret this error for long.

Earthquake
Beachcomber discovered Rumble practicing his earthquakes near a concealed base, and leatned of a Decepticon plan to destroy nearbye Central City.

Optimus Prime decides that such grave news requires a pinpoint response with utmost secrecy. ...so he sends the recklessly impulsive Windcharger, the bombasyic Powerglide, and Beachcomber to babysit the other two.
He was released in 1985 as part of the second year of toys and had at least two variants, one with Hasbro stamped across the left arm and one without. Also he came with and without the rubsign which had begun to appear that year.

:Iceberg is a Mini-Con from the Armada portion of the Unicron Trilogy continuity family

Iceberg isn't just physically suited for cold-weather and arctic missions. He loves the cold. Be it trekking through a blizzard in Siberia or simply enjoying a drive through a human settlement at Christmastime (he's developed a fondness for the Most Wonderful Time Of The Year), Iceberg is always ready, willing and able to get out there.

Though his teammates might say he's a little too eager. More than once he's managed to get the entire Adventure Mini-Con Team assigned to some frigid mission, where he has a clear advantage his teammates don't share. Iceberg isn't above chicanery to get his way...even if his warm-weather-loving teammate Dune Runner ends up complaining the whole time.
Comics continuity
Dreamwave Armada comics
Iceberg was one of the many Mini-Cons stationed on Earth's Moon for millenia. When the Decepticons invaded, the Adventure Team were part of the first wave of defense against them. However, due to Leader-1 and Dualor's fighting, the base's defenses were destroyed, and the entire installation had to be abandoned. The Mini-Cons escaped to Earth in a series of emergency rocket-pods.

Later, after (temporarily) siding with the Autobots, the Adventure Team was dispatched to Alaska in order to retrieve the last Mini-Con escape pod from the Moonbase. However, when the team started digging, they were interrupted by Thrust, then the super-powered Cyclonus, who scattered the team. Iceberg was swept away from a wave caused by Thrust's impact with the water, but was recovered by Sparkplug when Autobot reinforcements arrived.

The whole of the Earth-based Mini-Con force gathered in Arizona's Black Mesa to take the space bridge back to Cybertron to fight off the approaching Unicron. Presumably he was among the Mini-Cons at the Loop in Cyber City, giving his power to the Mini-Con Matrix that dealt the critical blow to Unicron.

Armada
*Adventure Mini-Con Team (Basic, 2003)
:Japanese ID number: MM-16

: Iceberg transforms into a treaded arctic plow with serrated plow and crane-arm. A gear-wheel mechanism on his vehicle-mode underside makes the outer sections of his plow scissor inward slightly when he is rolled along a smooth surface. This feature can also be activated by attaching him to the gear-wheel mechanism on the underside of the Armada Cyclonus mold. He was normally only available in a three-pack with his teammates Dune Runner and Ransack.

: This mold was also used to make Armada Armorhide, Scattorbrain, and Spoil.

*Adventure Microns X-Dimension (Basic, 2003)
:Japanese ID number: MM-19

: A limited-edition (yet still standard retail) "X-Dimension" redeco of the Adventure Team was released in Japan. For this version, Iceberg has a bright yellow deco with warning stripes on his tread-guards.

*Powerlinx Cyclonus with Crumplezone and Bonus Mini-Con (Bonus pack, 2003)
*Powerlinx Hot Shot with Jolt and Bonus Mini-Con (Bonus pack, 2003)

: In November of 2003, US Toys "R" Us stores had special bonus pack Max-Con (Deluxe) toys, which came with a single bonus Mini-Con attached to the card over their sticker, for less than the price as a normal Max-Con during Toys "R" Us' post-Thanksgiving-day sale. Each of the Adventure Team Mini-Cons could come packaged with either Powerlinx Cyclonus or Powerlinx Hot Shot.

Energon
*Adventure Mini-Con Team & Sea Mini-Con Team

: An unaltered version of the original Adventure Team was released as part of an Energon-series "Mini-Con 6-pack" with the Sea Mini-Con Team.

Unreleased
: Test-shots of a slightly-altered Adventure Team have popped up from various sources. It's possible this was intended to be a mid-series deco-change for the team, though it looks unfinished at best. Not only does the team have the exact same paint application layouts in the exact same colors as the original, but Iceberg's plastic is barely changed, this version being a slightly-brighter orange.
