'''Wheelie is here, cower in fear!'''

==Synopsis==
Eager to aid the [[Autobot]] war effort but constantly overlooked due to his stature, Wheelie is ecstatic when he is finally asked to help with the search for habitable worlds. Shortly after leaving, though, his ship hits a radiation belt that shorts out his systems, and he is forced to make a crash-landing on the world of [[LV-117]], a planet which turns out to be populated with giant monsters. Wheelie does what he can to survive and fends off the denizens. After attempting to use the [[universal greeting]] on a [[chaosteros]], Wheelie loses one of his arms. He subsequently retrieves it from the beast's... '''dung''' ...but thereafter his arm does not properly transform, causing him excruciating pain whenever he enters vehicle mode.

Eventually, he sights another ship crashing to the surface. When he tracks it down, he finds [[Decepticon]]s Spectro and Spyglass preparing to torture an alien they have captured. Wheelie frees him, and sneaks aboard the ship amidst the confusion. Unfortunately, the crash has damaged the ship beyond repair, dashing his plans to use it to escape. Suddenly remembering the third member of Spectro and Spyglass's trio, Wheelie turns around to find Viewfinder, impaled in his command chair by a large piece of the shattered canopy. Pausing to wonder whether Viewfinder or he himself was the lucky one, he goes off in search of the alien he set free, eventually finding and befriending him.

The alien, named Varta, speaks entirely (through a universal translator chip) in rhyme and reveals that he has a spaceworthy ship. The only thing it lacks as a power source, and Wheelie happily volunteers the [[Energon (G1)|energon]] converter he's been lugging around. They work together for a time to patch up the ship and get it ready to fly, with Wheelie adopting Varta's strange, rhyming speech in the process. As they prepare to launch the ship, they are ambushed by Spectro and Spyglass. The Decepticons shoot Varta in the back and threaten to finish him off if Wheelie doesn't climb out of the ship and let them have it. Though he initially considers taking off and leaving Varta, he realizes that if he does so, he would be turning his back on what it means to be an Autobot. He solemnly descends the ladder while the pair absconds in the rocket, congratulating themselves on their bluff—they had used the last charge in their laser to stun Varta. Varta is surprised that Wheelie would give up his freedom for his sake, but Wheelie says it really all came down to faction... that, and he removed the safety catch from the energon converter used to power the ship, causing it to explode in midair.

A year later, Varta and Wheelie have salvaged what they could from the wreckage of both their ship and the Decepticon cruiser and made a new home for themselves. No longer depressed, Wheelie feels renewed hope for the future and gazes up at the massive Autobot emblem adorning the top of their makeshift home. Meanwhile, in the nearby ruins of an ancient temple, a wall painting of a [[Quintesson]] begins to crack, the eyes glowing through the rock...
In the other, [[Alpha Trion (G1)|Alpha Trion]] tells Wheelie he was in the #7659 position to become Prime, after [[Twin Twist]] and Roller. Some candidates that Wheelie beats out are [[Erector]], [[Chip Chase]], [[Tonka GoBots|GoBots]] Leader-1, Turbo, Scooter and Small Foot, and #7'''666''' — [[Starscream (G1)|Starscream]]!
* Wheelie's distress call in this issue is received by [[Optimus Prime (G1)|Optimus Prime]], as seen in ''[[Spotlight: Optimus Prime]]''.

Throughout the various Transformers canon, there have been several instances of Transformers with humanistic traits and having very human actions that possibly conflict with their status as mechanical robots. Many of these instances can be dismissed as stylistic choices by the artists or as gags not to be taken seriously.

==Glandular, digestive, and respiratory==
===Sweating===
* In [[Prime Time!|issue twelve]] of the original [[The Transformers (Marvel Comics)|''Generation 1'' comic]], [[Rumble (G1)|Rumble]] is seen leaking lubricant from his head during a stressful confrontation with [[Shockwave (G1)|Shockwave]] (as Shockwave points out), in a manner resembling sweating.
* Numerous times in the Marvel UK comic, [[Kup (G1)|Kup]] can be seen "sweating".
* ''[[Robots in Disguise (cartoon)|Robots in Disguise]]'' and ''[[Armada (cartoon)|Armada]]'' featured Transformers displaying the traditional anime "sweatdrop", a giant bead of liquid appearing at the side of the head to convey embarrassment or exasperation.

===Coughing===
* In the G1 episode "[[Roll for It]]", when the Autobots emerge from the ruins of a demolished [[antimatter]] laboratory, they are coughing.
* [[Megatron (G1)|Megatron]] coughs while infected with Cosmic Rust. {{storylink|Cosmic Rust (episode)|Cosmic Rust}}
* In "[[Call of the Primitives]]", a fiery blast from [[Grimlock (G1)|Grimlock]] causes both the [[Terrorcon (G1)|Terrorcons]] and [[Predacon (G1)|Predacons]] to cough.
* In ''Beast Wars'', [[Megatron (BW)|Megatron]] begins to cough for no reason while making a triumphant speech. Much like Powerglide's "heart", this could be a one-shot joke. He also coughs while sleeping.
* In the episode "[[Mortal Combat]]" in ''Transformers Armada'', right after Optimus Prime says "I wish I could accommodate you", he coughs silently.

===Breathing===
On ''Star Trek the Next Generation'', it was explained that the android Data's breathing served, primarily, to cool his inner components. It could be argued that breathing serves the same purpose in Transformers, but this explanation is always going to smack of desperation.

* In an Energon episode, [[Jetfire (Armada)|Jetfire]] instructs [[Ironhide (Energon)|Ironhide]] that they have to synchronize their breathing before they can [[Powerlinx|powerlink]].
* At the climax of ''[[The Transformers: The Movie]]'', [[Galvatron (G1)|Galvatron]] tries to strangle [[Hot Rod (G1)|Hot Rod]], complete with sounds of Hot Rod gagging and struggling to breathe. It's possibile that Galvatron was trying to compress Hot Rod's neck until the Autobot's head popped off, but that isn't likely.
* [[Cheetor (BW)|Cheetor]], calling for help as a python constricted him, said he couldn't breathe. {{storylink|Dark Voyage}}
* [[Bumblebee (Animated)|Bumblebee]] was shown to be breathing heavily after trying to chase down Blurr, even though a previous episode quips not needing to breathe is useful for an Autobot. {{storylink|Velocity}}

===Spitting===
* Throughout his term on the Marvel UK comic letters page, [[Soundwave (G1)|Soundwave]] would regularly say "(Puttup)" after mentioning the Autobots or an Autobot's name to represent him spitting in disgust. This habit made an in-story appearance, with him spitting at [[Robot-Master]] despite his [[mouthplate]].
* In issue 72 of the Marvel US comics, after [[Nightbeat (G1)|Nightbeat]] escapes from the Decepticons's New Jersey base via a sewer, he spits as he complains about their poor choice of backdoor.
* In the ''[[Beast Wars (cartoon)|Beast Wars]]'' episode "[[Tangled Web]]", [[Quickstrike (BW)|Quickstrike]] "spat" after reissuing his challenge to tangle with [[Silverbolt (BW)|Silverbolt]], despite the fact that, like Soundwave, he has no apparent mouth.

===Crying===
[[Image:Omega Supreme tears up.jpg|right|180px|thumb|Tissue: desired.]]
* A twinkle of light that may not literally be a tear, but is clearly intended to imply one, can be seen in [[Omega Supreme (G1)|Omega Supreme]]'s eye at the end of "[[The Secret of Omega Supreme]]".
* When [[Optimus Prime (G1)|Optimus Prime]] dies in ''[[The Transformers: The Movie]]'', [[Arcee (G1)|Arcee]] is seen to dab at her eyes.
* In "[[The Burden Hardest to Bear]]", [[Scourge (G1)|Scourge]] had tears falling from his eyes, presumably in pain, during his monstrous disfigurement after he gains the power of the [[Matrix of Leadership|Matrix]].
* As he mourns his dead friend [[Snowstalker]] and decides he can never fight again, [[Tigatron]] cries a single tear in beast mode.
* When pondering [[Silverbolt (BW)|Silverbolt]]'s fate in ''[[Beast Machines (cartoon)|Beast Machines]]'', [[Blackarachnia (BW)|Blackarachnia]] is shown to shed a single tear from one of her spider eyes.

[[Image:Bw2 ep6 twinwaterfalls.jpg|right|180px|thumb|]]
* Throughout ''[[Beast Wars II (cartoon)|Beast Wars II]]'' and ''[[Robots in Disguise (cartoon)|Robots in Disguise]]'', and occasionally in the ''[[Armada (cartoon)|Armada]]'' cartoon, several characters are seen crying in hyperbolic anime fashion.
* Tears can be seen welling up in [[Ironhide (Energon)|Ironhide]]'s eyes and falling to the ground in ''[[Energon (cartoon)|Energon]]'' as he mourns a fallen comrade.
* In ''[[Transformers Animated (cartoon)|Transformers: Animated]]'', [[Blackarachnia (Animated)|Blackarachnia]] cries, though this "ability" could be part of her partially organic nature. {{storylink|Along Came a Spider}}

===Eating===
* There are references to [[Cybertronian food]].
* In ''[[Beast Wars]]'', the Maximals and Predacons are shown to eat:
*[[Tarantulas]] even displays something of a voracious appetite, eating rats and leaving webs to catch prey. At one point he captures Cheetor and prepares to drain his fluids, claiming that it is the act he prefers over the nourishment (which adds just another level of creepy to the already creepy Tarantulas) {{storylink|The Web}}
*[[Rattrap]] eats apples. {{storylink|The Web}}
*[[Terrorsaur (BW)|Terrorsaur]] eats a bird. {{storylink|Power Surge}}
*[[Dinobot (BW)|Dinobot]] ate [[Clone One|his clone]]. [[Optimus Primal]] remarked that he was "disgusting". {{storylink|Double Dinobot}}
*While suffering from an [[Energon (G1)|Energon]] discharge virus, [[Rhinox (BW)|Rhinox]] eats wild beans to build up his power. This later ends disastrously for [[Megatron (BW)|Megatron]]. {{storylink|The Low Road}}

* In ''[[Beast Machines]]'', [[Nightscream (BM)|Nightscream]] is shown eating what appears to be metallic apples. Boy's got some strong teeth. {{storylink|In Darkest Knight}}
* Also in ''Beast Machines'', [[Optimus Primal]] wants to eat the underground tree's fruit; [[Cheetor (BW)|Cheetor]] protests that "we don't eat food, we process [[Energon (G1)|energon]]--PERIOD!", but is overruled. {{storylink|Forbidden Fruit}}
* [[Skullcruncher]] has been known to eat Autobots as well as humans and other organics despite not needing to do so to survive. Other Decepticons are disgusted by this practice.

===Flatulence===
* In the ''[[Beast Wars (cartoon)|Beast Wars]]'' episode "[[The Low Road]]", Rhinox lets out an extreme amount of flatulence after consuming wild bean vines. This could be due to Maximals having organic parts in their makeup.
* Also in Beast Wars, in the episode "[[Bad Spark]]", [[Cheetor (BW)|Cheetor]] also lets out flatulence, blaming it on a large buildup of energy from his [[Transmetal]] body.

===Urination===
* [[Tasmania Kid]] urinated (in beast mode) to put out a fire.
* [[Bumblebee (Movie)|Bumblebee]] performed a similar action on [[Reggie Simmons|Agent Simmons]], by popping off his automobile oil filter in robot mode. Optimus Prime claims that he was just "lubricating" him. Presumably, this action was inspired from witnessing a [[Mojo|similar incident]].

===Intoxication===
* In the [[The Transformers (cartoon)|G1 cartoon]] episode "[[Microbots]]", the [[Decepticons]] are noticeably behaving in an intoxicated fashion after consuming high-grade [[Energon (G1)|energon]]. [[Powerglide (G1)|Powerglide]] referred to this as "over-energizing".
* In the UK comic, the [[Wrecker|Wreckers]] frequent a "bar" on Cybertron called [[Maccadam's Old Oil House]], where they consume high-grade energon, presumably for the purposes of getting intoxicated. [[Dreadwind (G1)|Dreadwind]] and [[Darkwing]] paid a visit to this establishment in a later story, and got so hammered that they didn't even notice [[Quickswitch]] fighting with some [[Mecannibals]].
* In ''Beast Wars II'', [[Galvatron (BWII)|Galvatron]] gets "drunk" on numerous occasions.
* In ''Beast Wars II'' manga, [[Lio Convoy]] gets drunk once and mess up [[Apache]]'s room.
* Throughout "[[Rise of the Constructicons]]", [[oil]] = [[wikipedia:Beer|beer]]. However, no one appears to actually get "drunk".

* In the episode "[[Auto Berserk]]", Optimus Prime's eyes are closed (apparently to shield them against the smoke) much like a human's when Autobots stagger out of the fire and smoke of the Negavator's destruction.
==Body parts==
===Teeth/tongues/eyeballs/eyelashes===
* The [[The Transformers (cartoon)|Generation 1 cartoon series]] is the only major piece of fiction to ''not'' present Transformers as possessing [[teeth]] and/or [[Tongue|tongues]]. The features appear in both the [[Marvel]] and [[Dreamwave]] comics, ''[[The Battlestars]]'' manga, the ''[[Beast Wars (cartoon)|Beast Wars]]'' and ''[[Beast Machines (cartoon)|Beast Machines]]'' animated series (where teeth would even be knocked out on occasion), the ''[[Robots in Disguise (cartoon)|Robots in Disguise]]'' cartoon, and the [[Unicron Trilogy]] cartoons and comics.

*There was a teardrop on young [[Star Saber (G1)|Star Saber]]'s face after being beaten by Deathsaurus.

*[[Lyzack]] sported some pretty heavy-duty eyelashes for her brief appearance in the ''[[Victory (manga)|Victory]]'' manga. So did [[Esmeral]]. {{storylink|Heroic! The Victory War}}

*One of the most prevalent examples of this tradition is the [[Kiss Players (fiction)|''Kiss Players'' manga]], in which a [[Legion]] character is equipped with a distinctive prehensile (and phallic) tongue.

*In [[Spotlight: Hot Rod]], Hot Rod is shown to have what appears to be blast shields for his optics when he passes out after landing. Dealer's optics are mostly covered by his eyelids, so he looks half-passed out. ''Per an email query to IDW, their response is that Transformers do not have eyelids, that it's just artistic license.''
Image:Dealerseyelids.jpg|Got munchies?
</gallery>

===Facial hair===
{{Main|Facial hair}}

* [[Alpha Trion (G1)|Alpha Trion]], [[Scourge (G1)|Scourge]], [[Unicron]], and [[Wreck-Gar (G1)|Wreck-Gar]] all sport "facial hair" in the G1 cartoon. In addition to that, ''Energon''<nowiki>'</nowiki>s [[Bulkhead (Energon)|Bulkhead]] and ''Animated''<nowiki>'</nowiki>s [[Scrapper (Animated)|Scrapper]], [[Mixmaster (Animated)|Mixmaster]] and [[Wreck-Gar (Animated)|the other Wreck-Gar]] all sport facial hair. (The last of these was modeled after [["Weird Al" Yankovic|his voice actor's]] own, prior to his appearance's overhaul.)

===Obesity===
Although Transformers come in all shapes and sizes anyway, some characters have particularly round appearances that suggest something equivalent to human obesity.

* [[Bulkhead (Animated)|Bulkhead]] is virtually as wide as he is tall and is depicted as extremely round, with very short, stubby legs. It gives him more than a passing resemblance to a heavily obese person, or at best one of those huge, flabby, off-season wrestlers.
* Much the same could be said of [[Omega Supreme (G1)|Omega Supreme]]. Being big-chassied is no excuse to let yourself go.
* [[Ratchet (Animated)|''Animated'' Ratchet]] has a prominent gut that resembles a human paunch. Although ordinarily this might be considered merely a feature of his transformation scheme (ala [[Trailbreaker (G1)|Trailbreaker]]), he is specifically designed to be a crotchety "old man" character, and in flashback sequences to his younger days in the Great War, he notably ''lacks'' said paunch.
* [[Gnaw]]. Well, all the [[Sharkticon (G1)|Sharkticons]], really, but seriously. It's kind of comically appropriate that the robots which do absolutely nothing but hang out and eat stuff all day are so roly poly.

===Feminine Characteristics===
[[Image:TM2 Blackarachnia.jpg|right|230px|thumb|I&#39;d tap it, like the fist of an angry god]]
There are several instances of female transformers whose bodies are designed with the explicit similarity to stereotypical human females. While this generally includes a more slender build (particularly a narrow waist) it also sometimes includes other characteristics which suggest a degree of gender dimorphism similar to organic races, although the purpose of this is unclear.

Note however that there are [[Strika (BM)|certainly]] some [[Glyph|exceptions]] to [[Road Rage|this]].

''The real-world explanation to most of these exceptions are [[redecos]] of originally male toys.''

====Breasts====
Some female Transformers, such as [[Arcee (G1)|Arcee]] and [[Elita One]] (not to mention the ''other'' [[Arcee (Animated)|Arcee]] and [[Blackarachnia (Animated)|Elita-1]]) have a protruding chest area that bears no apparent relation to their altmode [[kibble]], which bears some vague resemblance to clothed human breasts, or a "monoboob" if you will. Some females even have two separate and even more distinctly rounded breast-like protuberances, particularly in their fictional depictions. [[Blackarachnia (BW)|Blackarachnia]], [[Antagony]] and [[Beta]] all fall into this category. One, [[Thunderblast (Decepticon)| Thunderblast]], even has visible nipples. ''(You're going to look, aren't you...?)''

====Lips====
Another common feature to denote gender in some female Transfomers (mostly only in the fiction) will be possessing distinctly fuller, plumper lips than is standard, such as Blackarachnia in ''Beast Wars''. Sometimes, however, they will additionally have red or otherwise different/darker colouration to their lips, with an evident similarity to human lipstick. Such paint-mouthed hussybots include Blackarachnia in ''Beast Machines'', her [[Blackarachnia (Animated)|''Animated'' cousin]], and most [[Female Autobots|G1 Female Autobots]].

====Hips====
[[Image:SpacePirates Arcee Bunsofsteel.jpg|left|100px|thumb|Dan Reed, you perv.]]
''See also the '''''Sexuality''''' section below, and the articles:'' '''[[Female Transformer|Female Transformers]]''' and '''[[Reproduction]]'''

===Questionable body parts===
[[Image:Powerglide heart.jpg|right|100px|thumb|Not Astroboy, we swear!]]
[[Image:PredaBrain1.jpg|right|100px|thumb|Predaking: All brawn AND brains!]]
* Nearly all Transformers seem to possess noses for no discernable functional reason.
* In the G1 episode "[[The Girl Who Loved Powerglide]]", [[Powerglide (G1)|Powerglide]] is seen at the end of the episode having the LED outline of a cartoon heart within his chasis. This is somewhat nonsensical within in the context of the show (the contents of Transformers chest cavities had been shown several times before), and is probably merely meant as a one-off sight gag.
* [[Predaking]] has an organic brain when he is sliced in half in the [[Enter the New Supreme Commander, Dai Atlas!|''Zone'' cartoon]].
* [[Unicron]] also has an organic brain in the G.I. Joe crossover, [[Black Horizon Part 2]].

{{-}}

==Other biological functions==
===Sleep===
* In the G1 comic, [[Ratchet (G1)|Ratchet]] falls asleep and dreams (or rather, has a nightmare). This goes against established canon for that continuity that Transformers deactivate fully rather than "sleep," a point Ratchet himself makes.
* In the Japanese ''[[The Headmasters (cartoon)|Headmasters]]'' cartoon, [[Mindwipe]] is able to use a form of hypnotism on the Autobots, which can include lulling them to sleep.
* In the ''[[Generation 2]]'' [[Generation 2 (Marvel Comics)|comic]], Kup attempts to rouse a vision-struck Optimus Prime by urging him to "wake up" -- then reminds himself that "we don't sleep!"
* In ''[[Beast Wars]]'', it has been firmly established that (perhaps partially due to their organic components), all Transformers within the cartoon sleep. Some prime examples of this are:
*Megatron has been shown to sleep in the command chair of the ''Darksyde'', while his dino head mounted on the end of his arm stays awake, looks around, and smiles slyly. Wonder what it thinks about...
*Cheetor has been shown asleep at many points, complete with (occasionally prophetic) dreams. In "[[Feral Scream Part 2]]", he also purrs when he's asleep. How cute!
*In "[[Call of the Wild]]", the Maximals are kept awake for two days by the Predacons' non-stop attacks on their base, which exacerbate their beast instincts overriding their logic circuits.

* In ''Beast Wars II'', [[Galvatron (BWII)|Galvatron]] often nods off in a narcoleptic-like fashion.
* In ''Beast Wars II'' manga, Lio Convoy sleeps and has a nightmare for one time.
* ''Armada'' [[Cyclonus (Armada)|Cyclonus]] is quite fond of catching forty winks when possible. [[Scavenger (Armada)|Scavenger]] did the same on one occasion. Armada Megatron was also seen asleep twice in the episode "Rebellion".
* ''Animated'' [[Ratchet (Animated)|Ratchet]] enters a form of sleep he calls a "stasis nap", during which he gets several parking tickets. {{storylink|Transform and Roll Out!|Transform and Roll Out!}}

===Aging===
Some transformers have been depicted as aging.

* [[Image:Alpha Trion through the epochs.jpg|right|250px|thumb|]][[Alpha Trion (G1)|Alpha Trion]] has been depicted in three different eras: 11 million years in the past, 9 million years in the past, and the present day. Though his [[character model]] undergoes many changes, his facial hair changes seem to mimic human aging. In his (chronologically) earliest depiction, he has a small black mustache. In his second depiction, his mustache has turned white. By the modern era, he sports a long mustache and beard.

[[Image:MangaYoungDeathyStarSaber.jpg|right|150px|thumb|Young and Innocent]]
* [[Emirate Xaaron]] couldn't transform anymore because he was old.

* Kup's systems are going to shut down because he is too old in Marvel UK G1 comics.

* [[Deathsaurus]] and [[Star Saber (G1)|Star Saber]] were depicted as "child" robots, complete with childlike temperaments, in flashbacks. {{storylink|The Star of Friendship, Jean and Star Saber!|The Star of Friendship, Jean and Star Saber!}}

{{-}}

===Sexuality===
One of the most controversial aspects of Transformers is the idea of sexuality. While it is established in most continuities that Transformers do not reproduce sexually, most continuities nonetheless have distinctive male and [[Female Transformers|female characters]] (with the notable exception of the G1 comic, which explicitly states there is no sexual distinction).

[[Image:Sideburnhearts.jpg|right|180px|thumb|Sorry Side Burn, I don&#39;t think Wedge rolls that way.]]
The G1 cartoon brought the first official female Autobots into the canon, including [[Elita One]] and [[Arcee (G1)|Arcee]]. The characters are noticeably more feminine in design and have clearly defined romantic relationships with male Autobots.

The issue becomes more complicated in ''Beast Wars'', where the sexuality line is clearly defined ([[Blackarachnia (BW)|Blackarachnia]] has a particularly well defined female figure, including what appears to be an ample bosom). It is hinted on occasion that the robots may engage in activities resembling human sex acts. Rattrap slyly makes a double entendre to [[Silverbolt (BW)|Silverbolt]] regarding his suspected kinky activities with Predacon Blackarachnia, and later makes a comment about going to what sounds like a Cybertonian version of a strip club. In the Metals dub, Rattrap, thinking himself about to be stabbed by Dinobot, asked him to "be gentle, because I've heard the first time can hurt."

In the original Japanese version of ''Energon'', [[Tidal Wave|Mirage]] displays romantic interest in [[Megatron (Armada)|Galvatron]], causing his comrades to regard him with minor confusion. The ''Energon'' dub seemed to do its best to skirt around this issue, with Mirage's exclamations either being about different things entirely or simple cheering on of his leader - but they couldn't do anything about the hands-clasped-beside-his-head-while-doe-eyed expressions, or the one time that he pirouetted and struck a pose while surrounded by a giant glowing pink heart. ''Why'', Japan?

'''Cockpits''', seats, driver's compartments, and cabins: all exist to provide space for an on-board operator or passenger of a manned vehicle. [[Transformer|Transformers]] who have taken [[Alternate mode|alternate modes]] based on these manned vehicles have good reason to include a cockpit to ensure perfect disguise. However, there are others who have never imitated a piloted vehicle, who even live on worlds where no suitable pilots have existed since recorded history began, who yet have a place for a driver. How can this be? Only [[Primus]] knows the truth.

==Diaclone==
One of the [[pre-Transformer]] toylines, [[Diaclone]] included small figurines with magnetic feet for use with most toys. When these toys were carried over to the [[Hasbro]] toyline the figures were omitted but the cockpits were retained. This led to several toys that would not logically have had space or even need for a driver featuring an inexplicable cockpit. Toys with this feature include the [[Dinobot (G1)|Dinobots]] and [[Insecticon (G1)|Insecticons]]. These were entirely ignored in the fiction, although when the Insecticon were reissued in Japan in 2004, they came with [[Energon cube|Energon cubes]] that were designed to fit neatly inside them.

On the [[Seekers]], the cockpits can be used to contain the landing gear, thus reducing the number of parts lying around during the transformation.

==Beast Wars==
[[Image:BWRConcept35.jpg|right|180px|thumb|Transmetal 2 Megatron, showing cockpit and &quot;spark avatar&quot; figure.]]
Given the non-vehicle alternate modes of the [[Beast Era]]'s characters, cockpits are for the most part absent from this time period. However, there are cockpits in [[Optimus Primal|Optimal Optimus]], [[Megatron (BW)|Transmetal 2 Megatron]], and [[Tigerhawk]]'s bodies. Coincidentally these three characters all evolved by placing two sparks in their bodies. In early toy designs, these cockpits were shown to hold "spark avatar" called '''Soul Figures''' that looked like small versions of the characters. However, Hasbro ultimately cancelled the spark figures in order to avoid confusion over whether the robots had "pilots" by kids. In [[Beast Wars (cartoon)|Beast Wars]] cartoon series, Optimal Optimus's cockpit was used to house [[Optimus Prime (G1)|Optimus Prime]]'s spark. {{storylink|Optimal Situation|Optimal Situation}}
Strafe was part of [[Fortress Maximus (G1)|Fortress Maximus]]' group of Autobots on [[Cybertron (planet)|Cybertron]]. {{storylink|Ring of Hate!}} When Fortress Maximus decided to leave the war and head to [[Nebulos]], Strafe and the other Technobots agreed to follow him on his quest for peace, which would have done the high-strung fellow a world of good. ====Marvel UK future timelines====
''In 2008, Strafe and several Autobots under the command of [[Ultra Magnus (G1)|Ultra Magnus]] responded to a mysterious call for help on Cybertron. Astonishingly, the call came from the Decepticons. Even more astonishing, it was genuine. Strafe and the Autobots joined forces with their Decepticon counterparts in driving a marauding crew of [[Quintesson|Quintessons]] off the planet. {{storylink|Space Pirates!|Space Pirates!}}''

''After [[Time Wars]] rebooted future history, Strafe was next seen stationed at [[Autobot City]] in 2009. ''In another future, the last Decepticon was destroyed by [[Springer (G1)|Springer]] and the [[Wrecker|Wreckers]] in 2510. However, the Autobots soon came to blows over a misunderstanding, and war broke out again almost as soon as it ended. Strafe was created,like the other Technobots, by the temporarily super-intelligent [[Grimlock (G1)|Grimlock]]. {{storylink|Grimlock's New Brain|Grimlock's New Brain}} Less than a week later, he and the other Technobots were sent to Earth to learn how to interact with [[Human|humans]], where they encountered the unscrupulous trader [[Dirk Manus]] and his business partners, the [[Quintessons]]. {{storylink|Money is Everything|Money is Everything}}
'''Disappearium''' is a Cybertronian alloy that can render whatever item it is made of invisible, such as [[Optimus Prime (G1)|Optimus Prime]]'s trailer/[[Combat Deck]] when Prime converts to robot mode.
==Note==
* In the audio commentary for ''[[The Transformers: The Movie]]'' featuring [[Flint Dille]], [[Susan Blu]], and [[Nelson Shin]], Dille gave a final explanation, during Optimus Prime's final attack against the Decepticons during the [[Battle of Autobot City]], to what happens to [[Optimus Prime (G1)|Optimus Prime's]] trailer/[[Combat Deck]] when Prime converts to robot mode. According to Dille, the trailer is composed of disappearium, an alloy that has cloaking properties to it. And if you believe that, can [[User:Zadok Rox|I]] interest you in a case of dehydrated water?
* Of course, Prime's missing trailer/Combat Deck was a simple case of rushed animation that sacrificed minute details for meeting a deadline.
* At least Flint Dille didn't say that a wizard did it.
* The recently-announced FansProject G3 Trailer for [[Classics]] Optimus Prime features panels that flip open to reveal a reflective material. This is rather effective camouflage that essentially makes the trailer vanish apart from a few non-coated seams.

{{disambig3|Unicron}}
A timeline for the events of the [[Unicron Trilogy]] cartoon universe. Significant differences between the English and Japanese continuities are highlighted.

==The Dawn of Time==
The universe is created. [[Unicron]] and [[Primus]] come into being, and their war begins.

Whether the Autobots colonized planets at the dawn of time in this continuity depends on the Unicron Singularity.

==Prehistory==
[[Image:Original13.jpg|left|350px|thumb|Don't yell "Fire!" in a crowded illustration.]]
Nine billion years ago, Primus becomes [[Cybertron (planet)|Cybertron]] and creates the [[thirteen original Transformers]], including [[Vector Prime]]. Following Unicron's defeat, the Transformer race expands, and peace settles in. Vector Prime withdraws from the linear universe, observing the passage of time across the [[multiverse]] from outside of the timeline. {{storylink|Vector Prime: In the Beginning}}

The specifics of the early days of Transformer civilization are murky. At some point, the race splinters into the [[Autobot]] and [[Decepticon]] factions, and some degree of enmity forms between the two sides. It is unclear if any formal warfare is waged, but at least ''some'' fighting between the factions is recorded. Eventually, however, the two sides attain a peaceful co-existence, but they never manage to re-integrate into one aligned faction and continue to wear their individual [[Insignia|insignias]]. <ref>Transformers from this period such as Omega Supreme, the Maximus combiners and those who travelled on the four starships wear the Autobot and Decepticon symbols and recognise and ally themselves with their respective factions after re-emerging in the modern day. The hatred between the Maximus combiners (two Autobot, two Decepticon) and the mural in the Super Energon Shrine proves there was conflict between the factions in the past, but the eventual rise of peace is demonstrated by the joint ventures that both sides participated in, such as the colonisation program, and the Maximus combiners guarding Super Energon together.</ref>

The Transformers attempt to establish a colonisation program, using four massive starships to transport groups of Cybertronians across the galaxy to four selected worlds, with the intention of using [[Cyber Planet Key|Cyber Planet Keys]] imbued with the power of Primus to reshape them and connect them via a [[space bridge]] network. However, as the result of some unspecified incident, the plan fails, and contact with the four colony worlds of [[Velocitron]], [[Jungle Planet]], [[Gigantion]] and [[Earth]] is lost. As time rolls on, they become forgotten by Cybertron at large. The four worlds evolve their own Transformer societies, whose descendants are likewise unaware of Cybertron, considering it a legend at best. {{storylink|Fallen (episode)|Fallen}}

Unicron attacks Cybertron once more<ref>Though the Energon episode "[[Omega Supreme (episode)|Omega Supreme]]" simply says that Omega Supreme fought Unicron while searching for Energon, the [[Superlink]] version of the episode explains that Omega Supreme and ''Primus'' fought Unicron in this era.</ref>, but is defeated by the legendary warrior, [[Omega Supreme (Energon)|Omega Supreme]]. {{storylink|Omega Supreme (episode)|Omega Supreme}} Subsequently, Omega and the four "Maximus" combiners enter hibernation beneath the surface of Cybertron, with the combiners guarding a [[Super Energon Temple|reservoir]] of [[Super Energon]].

==10,000,000 years ago==
Unicron disguises his dormant body as Cybertron's moon, hiding in plain sight.

Around this time, peace between the Autobots and Decepticons finally collapses, and the millennia-long Cybertronian civil war begins. <ref name="timeline">Date for this period from [http://www.takaratomy.co.jp/products/TF/table.html timeline] on Takara's website.</ref>

==4,000,000 years ago==
Unicron implants some of his cells inside Cybertron, where they gestate and become a new race of diminutive robots called [[Mini-Cons]]. However, an encounter with a group of time-displaced human children mere moments after their creation plants the seeds of sentience within the Mini-Cons. {{storylink|Drift (episode)|Drift}}

[[Image:Exodus-game.jpg|left|150px|thumb|Just paint a bullseye on Earth already.]]Just as the chaos-bringer had planned, the emergence of the Mini-Cons only causes the Transformers' war to escalate, as both sides vie for control of the power-enhancing abilities that the Mini-Cons possess. At least one account notes that Cybertron underwent some undetermined form of "cataclysm" shortly before the emergence of the Mini-Cons—presumably, this accompanied Unicron's implantation of his cells within the planet. {{storylink|Prehistory|Prehistory}}
Eventually, thanks to their experience with the human children, the Mini-Cons attain true sentience and decide to choose their own destiny, intending to head for the planet Earth. The Autobots aid the Mini-Cons in escaping Cybertron aboard the spaceship ''[[Exodus]]'', but the Decepticons attack in the midst of the escape attempt. As the ''Exodus'' warps away, it is struck by a blast and crippled, and when it emerges from the portal in the Sol system, it scrapes across the surface of Earth's [[Moon (moon)|moon]], and is torn in two. The bulk of the craft remains on the lunar surface, but a portion of it tumbles to Earth, scattering its Mini-Con passengers—sealed in stasis panels—across the planet. {{storylink|First Encounter|First Encounter}}

==8000 years ago==
[[Image:E27 rodimussodreamy.jpg|right|150px|thumb|Cheese it!]]
In the midst of the civil war on Cybertron, an Autobot commander named [[Rodimus (Energon)|Rodimus]] tires of the endless conflict and gathers up a group of like-minded Cybertronians, leading them into space to escape the corrosion of war without end. {{storylink|The Legend of Rodimus|The Legend of Rodimus}} Both Autobots and Decepticons accompany him, laying down their arms and working together to mine [[Energon (Energon)|energon]]. Rodimus leaves them to this new life they have chosen, and continues on his interplanetary voyage of peace. The miners are transformed by the power of energon into [[Omnicon|Omnicons]]. {{storylink|Survival Instincts|Survival Instincts}}

:''For further information, see: [[Rodimus's crew]]''

Optimus Prime rises to prominence as a great leader after Rodimus's departure. {{storylink|A Tale of Two Heros|A Tale of Two Heros}}

==Indeterminate millennia/centuries ago==
On Earth, many ancient human civilizations come into contact with the Transformers living on the planet. The colony ship that came to this world, the ''[[Atlantis]]'', inspires the legend of the sunken city when it malfunctions and falls from the sky. {{storylink|Ship|Ship}} The Decepticons from the ''Atlantis'' inspire many legends in their own right, becoming the basis for most of Earth's monster myths. They are captured by [[Crosswise (Cybertron)|Crosswise]] and sealed in stasis deep beneath the Earth's surface in the Arctic. {{storylink|Trap|Trap}}

In later centuries, Mini-Con stasis panels are discovered by various cultures, and whether by ironic coincidence or Unicronian design, they produce violence and conflict wherever they are taken. At some point, an unknown civilization acquires the three panels that make up the mighty [[Star Saber (Armada)|Star Saber]] sword, but they use its power to wage war on another culture, who strike back with the power of the [[Skyboom (Armada)|Skyboom shield]]. The energies released cause the city to sink beneath the ocean, and the six Mini-Cons are again lost. {{storylink|Ruin|Ruin}} Epochs later, in the Sahara desert, the mysterious influence of the panel containing [[Bonecrusher (Armada)|Bonecrusher]] allows for the creation of a vastly technologically-advanced temple, full of futuristic mechanical traps, in which the panel is sealed. {{storylink|Palace|Palace}}

==6th Century==
In a parallel dimension, the warmongering inhabitants of [[Planet X]] open a wormhole and pull the colony world Gigantion through to their universe, intending to strip it of its resources. <ref name="timeline">Date for this period from [http://www.takaratomy.co.jp/products/TF/table.html timeline] on Takara's website.</ref> The Gigantions use the power of the Cyber Planet Key to enlarge themselves and their planet to fight back, forcing Planet X to employ its mightiest weapon, only to wind up destroying itself in the process. {{storylink|Challenge|Challenge}}

Two Planet X survivors, [[Sideways (RID)|Sideways]] and [[Soundwave (Cybertron)|Soundwave]], seek out Unicron, and ally themselves with him in return for the chance to claim revenge on Gigantion. <ref>"Planet X" write up on ''Cybertron'' Soundwave's toy packaging.</ref>

==2000==
On Earth the [[Decepticon]] [[Thunderblast (Decepticon)|Thunderblast]] was captured and imprisoned by [[Crosswise (Cybertron)|Crosswise]].<ref>In the episode "[[Revelation (episode)|Revelation]]" set in 2030, Thunderblast mentioned having been imprisoned for 30 years.</ref>

==2010==
{{note|While ''Armada'' takes place in 2010, its Japanese counterpart, ''Micron Legend'', is dated by recent timelines to 2003, the broadcast year of the series in Japan. With the ten year gap between ''Armada'' and ''Energon'' consistent in both countries, ''Super Link'' is subsequently dated to 2013, while ''Energon'' takes place in 2020.}}
Exploring the caves outside their hometown, [[Rad White]] and [[Carlos Lopez]] discover that they are, in fact, the cavernous remains of the ''Exodus''. They inadvertently reactivate the ship's systems, and Mini-Con stasis panels begin reactivating all across Earth. A signal relaying this fact is beamed across the galaxy to Cybertron, and the evil [[Megatron (Armada)|Megatron]] promptly leads a small team of Decepticons to Earth via warp gate in order to gather up the Mini-Cons for themselves. [[Optimus Prime (Armada)|Optimus Prime]] pursues him with his own contingent of troops, and these Autobots befriend Rad, Carlos and their friend [[Alexis]], who have developed a telepathic bond with the [[Street Action Mini-Con Team]]. {{storylink|First Encounter|First Encounter}}

[[Image:Hotshotstarsaber.jpg|left|150px|thumb|The Star Saber sword, the most powerful artifact in the universe... until the next one.]] As both sides of the conflict steadily gather Mini-Cons all over Earth and more troops arrive from Cybertron, Sideways arrives on Earth to manipulate the conflict to Unicron's ends. {{storylink|Gale|Gale}} The components of the Star Saber and Skyboom are located and the weapons are re-formed, only to both fall into Decepticon hands thanks to Sideways's side-switching machinations, {{storylink|Credulous|Credulous}} but before long, he arranges for the Autobots to obtain the Skyboom. {{storylink|Decisive Battle|Decisive Battle}} Eventually, however, his schemes are discovered by Megatron, and he is ousted from the Decepticon ranks. {{storylink|Detection|Detection}}
The arrival of the massive Decepticon battleship [[Tidal Wave]] coincides with the Autobots' successful formation of the final Mini-Con weapon, the [[Requiem Blaster]]. {{storylink|Desperate|Desperate}} Using the power-hungry [[Thrust (Armada)|Thrust]] as a go-between, Sideways orchestrates a plan that allows the Decepticons to acquire the Requiem Blaster, {{storylink|Sacrifice|Sacrifice}} while at the same time betraying [[Starscream (Armada)|Starscream]], who takes the Star Saber and joins the Autobots. {{storylink|Regeneration|Regeneration}} After the successful liberation of the Decepticons' captive Mini-Cons, {{storylink|Rescue|Rescue}} however, Starscream is convinced to rejoin Megatron's forces, bringing the Star Saber and Skyboom with him, finally putting all three weapons in the Decepticons' hands. {{storylink|Crack|Crack}} Using them, they create the [[Hydra Cannon]], but Optimus Prime dies stopping the weapon from destroying Earth. {{storylink|Crisis|Crisis}}
[[Image:StellaCar.jpg|right|200px|thumb|Meanwhile, boobs.]]While this conflict plays out, various other Mini-Cons activate across Earth, including the [[Super Stunt Team]], who form a bond with the human [[Stella Holley]]. Joining with their fellow Mini-Cons, the [[Sonic Assault Mini-Con Team|Sonic Assault Team]], against the evil Unicron-aligned [[Speed Chaser Mini-Con Team|Speed Chaser]] and [[Aqua Raider Mini-Con Team|Aqua Raider]] Teams, the Mini-Cons' adventures lead them to discover the "[[Master Key]]" program, which they use to unlock the full power of all the Mini-Cons on Earth. {{storylink|Linkage (comic)|Linkage}}
Galvatron opts to perish rather than live in an age of peace and plunges into Unicron's jaws. With this act bringing about the end of the Cybertronian war, there is no longer any force to sustain Unicron, and he vanishes in a flash of light. {{storylink|Mortal Combat|Mortal Combat}}
At some point, Optimus Prime returns to Cybertron and reclaims leadership of the unified Autobot and Decepticon forces.

Peace between the Autobots and Decepticons does not come easy, with determined villains such as the brothers [[Shockblast]] and [[Six Shot]] attempting to renew the hostilities, even to the point of attacking Decepticons themselves. They are eventually imprisoned. {{storylink|Shockblast: Rampage|Shockblast: Rampage}}
Unbeknownst to the Transformers, Unicron has survived his apparent destruction, and continues to consume planets in the far reaches of the universe. A delegation of humans, including the Autobots' existing human allies, [[Dr. Brian Jones]] and his son [[Kicker Jones|Kicker]], comes to Cybertron to establish friendly relations between Mankind and the Transformers.<ref>The [[Transformers Energon Official Guidebook]] indicates Kicker was 8 when he first visited Cybertron, and 16 when [[Energon (franchise)|Energon]] began.</ref> Kicker is terrified of the Transformers and flees, stumbling into an underground chamber and reawakening Primus. Primus bestows upon Kicker the ability to sense energon, leading to the discovery of the mineral in various locations on Earth, on [[Mars]] and in the asteroid belt. Massive "[[Cybertron City|Cybertron Cities]]" are constructed at these sites, where [[Omnicon|Omnicons]] mine the energon as part of a "clean energy" program for Earth and Cybertron. {{storylink|Cybertron City (episode)|Cybertron City}}
Unicron's consciousness continues to exist within Megatron, and drives him to uncover the reservoir of Super Energon, which transforms him into Galvatron again. Alpha Trion uses the spatial instability caused by the Unicron Singularity to summon [[Sentinel Maximus]] from another dimension, and together, he and Vector Prime battle the heralds, and are able to successfully defeat them with help from another interdimensional guest, [[Omega Prime]]. {{storylink|Balancing Act}} The Dead Matrix, however, is stolen by Planet X's Soundwave, who casts it into the Unicron Singularity, freeing Unicron’s spark. Infesting the planet [[Yst]], Unicron destroys the planet from within and is reborn in a new (much smaller) body. {{storylink|Revelations Part 3}}
Shortly after the Omega Lock is located on Earth in the bulk of the crashed spaceship the ''[[Atlantis]]'', {{storylink|Ship}} [[Overhaul (Cybertron)|Overhaul]] heads for the Jungle Planet, where the power of its Cyber Planet Key reformats him into [[Leobreaker]]. {{storylink|Detour (episode)|Detour}} Megatron ingratiates himself with Jungle Planet ruler [[Scourge (Cybertron)|Scourge]], while at the same time, Starscream, working towards his own goals, teams up with the returned Sideways. {{storylink|Honor}}

[[Image:BudBlackboard.jpg|left|150px|thumb|You get the basic idea.]]Ultimately, the Autobots succeed in acquiring the Keys of both Velocitron and Jungle Planet, at which point the existence of Earth's own Cyber Planet Key is revealed. {{storylink|Trap}} Starscream makes his power play and overthrows Megatron, stealing the Omega Lock and all three keys from the Autobots and using them to grow in size and power. {{storylink|Starscream (episode)|Starscream}} Their forces bolstered by the ancient Autobots from Earth and the arrival of [[Wing Saber]], who combines with Optimus Prime, the Autobots fight their way through a vengeful Megatron and defeat Starscream {{storylink|United}} - but the battle is not without casualties, as Hot Shot, Red Alert and [[Scattorshot]] are gravely wounded and rebuilt into the even more powerful "[[Cybertron Defense Team]]". {{storylink|Critical}}
At the same time, on Cybertron, news reaches the Autobots there of a war that has erupted between the two factions of Mini-Cons living on the planet’s moons. Offering to help, the Autobots join the conflict, but before long, Unicron also enters the fray, intending to terminate his rebellious creations. {{storylink|Revelations Part 5}} Simultaneously, Optimus Prime’s Autobots return to Cybertron and use the Omega Lock and Cyber Planet Keys to awaken the spirit of Primus, causing Cybertron to transform into the god's body. {{storylink|Cybertron (episode)|Cybertron}} This awesome sight brings the battle on the moons to a screeching halt, and Unicron flees. {{storylink|Revelations Part 6}}
Starscream attempts to tap the power of Primus and grows to planetary size, only to be defeated by Primus himself. {{storylink|Titans}} Soon, the Autobots identify the location of Gigantion, while the Decepticons have to be led there by Soundwave. {{storylink|Warp}} Bested by the planet's leader [[Metroplex (Cybertron)|Metroplex]], {{storylink|Giant}} Megatron taps the key's power to become Galvatron yet again, {{storylink|Fury}} and blasts Starscream, Sideways and Soundwave into another dimension to acquire the Lock and Keys for himself. {{storylink|Guardian (episode)|Guardian}} and the five planet leaders confront Galvatron within the black hole and defeat him. With all the Cyber Planet Keys now in his possession, Primus uses their power to finally seal the black hole, ending its threat. {{storylink|End}}
As the planet's various civilizations attempt to return to life as normal, Galvatron attacks the Autobots for one final time. Without any troops to call his own, Galvatron engages Optimus Prime in a one-on-one duel, and is finally destroyed for good. {{storylink|Unfinished}} With this final victory, Optimus Prime begins a new space bridge initiative, and the Transformers set sail for the four corners of the universe, and new adventures. {{storylink|Beginning}}
:''Warpath is an [[Autobot]] from the [[Generation 1 (franchise)|Generation 1]] [[continuity family]].''

[[Image:Warpathg1.jpg|right|250px|thumb|... or are you just happy to see me?]]
'''Warpath''' is the stereotypical tank commander: loud, boisterous, skilled, confident, devoted to his buddies, and probably a little deaf. His armor is tremendously thick; his skull no less. He loves to show off by splitting hex nuts a mile and a half away, and he has an endless variety of special munitions to load in his prized main gun: cryogenic, acid, thermal, and sonic. His most favorite, however, are the simple explosive shells that go off with a huge explosion, KABOOM!

His gun...how Warpath loves his gun. Prominent and useful in both modes, she has saved his life countless times, and she gets only the best in return. How he loves to line her sights up precisely on a barely visible target, and KAZOWY! blow it to shrapnel with a single well-placed shell. A dud annoys him; a miss is near-fatal embarassment. A mere scratch to his gun's barrel keeps him up, late into the night, polishing it away. When on occasion his gun is damaged seriously enough to impair her function, he is practically inconsolable for weeks.

{{quote|"They don't call me Warpath 'cause I'm gentle. HaHAHAHAHAHA!"<br>
Warpath (ZING!) had a habit of (BLAM!) interjecting his speech with (WHAMMO!) onomatopoeia. Whether this was a programming feature or personal choice is unknown. His fellow Autobots seemed to tolerate it.

Warpath appeared with no explanation for his arrival when [[Megatron (G1)|Megatron]] created a remote-controlled duplicate of [[Optimus Prime (G1)|Optimus Prime]] to lead the Autobots to their doom. He did little more than get shot by a fake [[Starscream (G1)|Starscream]]. {{storylink|A Prime Problem}} He later accompanied Optimus Prime and the Autobots to [[Dinobot Island (G1)|Dinobot Island]], where he first demonstrated his zest for combat and unique style of speech. He also had the first of several battles with his opposite number, the [[Triple Changer]] Decepticon tank, [[Blitzwing (G1)|Blitzwing]]. {{storylink|Dinobot Island, Part 2}}
He was one of several Autobots who defended the [[Ark (G1)|Ark]] when the [[Heart of Cybertron]]-powered [[Megatron (G1)|Megatron]] attacked. Warpath acquitted himself well, firing several rounds at the Decepticon leader while shrugging off two direct hits from his energy bolts, but he was ultimately put out of action when Megatron blasted the ground under him, trapping Warpath. {{storylink|Microbots}}
[[Image:G1 DecepRaiderinKingArthurs WarpathramsRamjet.jpg|left|150px|thumb|So they have Renaissance Fairs on Cybertron, too?]]
On one occasion, Warpath and [[Hoist (G1)|Hoist]] were chasing a small group of Decepticons led by Starscream, and ended up passing through the [[Dragon Mound]] and into 542 AD. The Autobots and Decepticons took opposite sides with a pair of warring knights, and Warpath allowed the [[Sir Aetheling the Red|Red Knight]] to ride him in joust against [[Sir Wigend du Blackthorne]]'s champions, [[Rumble (G1)|Rumble]] and [[Ramjet (G1)|Ramjet]]. They successfully rammed Ramjet, caving in his nosecone and forcing the Decepticons to fall back on the ol' "grab a hostage and run" trick, taking the Red Knight's daughter [[Nimue]] captive. Warpath led the charge against Blackthorne's castle and, with their siege tower destroyed by some of Starscream's gunpowder barrels, he and Hoist served as makeshift ladders for their allies to breach the castle walls. After thwarting Starscream's plans to rule the 6th century, they enlisted the aid of a local wizard to get back to the 20th century. {{storylink|A Decepticon Raider in King Arthur's Court}}

Accompanying [[Perceptor (G1)|Perceptor]] and [[Beachcomber (G1)|Beachcomber]] on a geology expedition, Warpath managed to get in some (ZOW!) action when Blitzwing and the [[Conehead]]s staged a surprise attack. He and Blitzwing engaged in Tank Wars again, but the fighting got so furious they buried each other in sand for awhile. It was anyone's game until [[Thrust (G1)|Thrust]] found a pool of [[electrum]] and became invincible. Even a hot and cold mix of [[Powerglide]]'s thermal beam and Warpath's cryo-shells couldn't break the Decepticon warrior. Warpath was forced to reluctantly sound the retreat, tunneling through the mountainside to make their escape. {{storylink|The Golden Lagoon}}

When the [[Morphobot]]s took over a valley on Earth, Warpath and [[Ironhide (G1)|Ironhide]] did their best to blast through using a variety of shells and liquid, but it took (POW!) [[Blaster (G1)|Blaster]] and some (COWBELL!) tunes to really get them out of the way. {{storylink|Quest for Survival}}
[[Image:G1 Masquerade Warpath crushes DeadEnd.jpg|right|150px|thumb|THUS I REFUTE THEE!]]
Late in 1985, the Autobots plotted to capture the [[Stunticon]]s to discover the reason behind their high-profile thefts. [[Tracks]] and Warpath were assigned to take down [[Drag Strip]] and [[Dead End (G1)|Dead End]] on a beach. Warpath quickly disabled Drag Strip with a few well-placed explosive shells, while Tracks blinded Dead End with his black beam gun. Unable to see, Dead End drove right into Warpath, who (BAM!) crushed the Decepticon with a single punch that went straight through his roof. {{storylink|Masquerade}}

In the year 2006, Warpath watched a broadcast of the first [[Galactic Olympics]]. He commented to [[Bumblebee (G1)|Bumblebee]] that the Autobots sure had an unusual leader in [[Rodimus Prime (G1)|Rodimus Prime]] when the young Autobot dispensed with making a long, stuffy speech at the games' opening ceremony. {{storylink|Five Faces of Darkness, Part 1}}

[[Image:G1 FFODPart5 Warpath kicked.jpg|left|150px|thumb|Football's not so cool when you're the ball.]]
As the Decepticons made their move on Earth, Warpath and [[Pipes]] commanded the team defending the Ark. The Autobots hid in a ravine and as [[Trypticon (G1)|Trypticon]] passed overhead, Warpath gave orders to fire, significantly damaging the Decepticon's rolling battle station mode. However, Trypticon quickly recovered and transformed into his massive dinosaur mode, forcing the Autobot Minicars to regroup and counter attack. Warpath fired a shell which Trypticon merely swatted away, then when the Autobot protested that he didn't (ZEEM!) believe what was happening, he was kicked for his troubles. Warpath ordered [[Teletraan I (G1)|Teletraan I]] to activate the volcano's defensive cannons as Trypticon neared the Ark, but this had little effect on the Decepticon, who then destroyed the volcano. {{storylink|Five Faces of Darkness, Part 5}}
Warpath was later seen stationed at [[Metroplex (G1)|Metroplex]] when [[Scourge (G1)|Scourge]] and [[Starscream (G1)|Starscream]]'s ghost came by to steal the [[city-bot]]'s eyes for [[Unicron]]. Being land-bound, poor ol' Warpath unfortunately missed out on most of the aerial action. {{storylink|Ghost in the Machine}}
During an attack on Yokohama by [[Megatron (G1)|Megatron]], [[Starscream (G1)|Starscream]] and [[Blitzwing (G1)|Blitzwing]], Warpath responded with a troop of fellow Autobots. As exuberent as ever, Warpath couldn't wait to test his tank mode against Blitzwing's, ignoring [[Jazz (G1)|Jazz]]'s cries to stop. Unfortunately for Warpath, he neglected to realize that Blitzwing was several times his size, ultimately being run over by the Decepticon. Following the defeat of the three bad guys by [[Optimus Prime (G1)|Optimus Prime]] and [[Ultra Magnus (G1)|Ultra Magnus]], a ''very'' injured Warpath managed to muster up the enthusiasm to cheer for their victory. {{storylink|Fight! [[Image:Smeltingpoolminivehicles.jpg|left|200px|thumb|On Cybertron he turned into a tank with a really obvious weakpoint.]]
Warpath was a member of [[Perceptor (G1)|Perceptor]]'s resistance cell on [[Cybertron (planet)|Cybertron]] during the reign of [[Straxus (G1)|Straxus]]. Like most of his comrades, he found more inspiration in [[Blaster (G1)|Blaster]]'s bravado than the calculated caution of Perceptor. When their untrustworthy scout, [[Scrounge]] went missing, Warpath and his peers fell in line with Blaster's plan to find and rescue him, overruling Perceptor. After much searching, all but Blaster had given up on Scrounge, so Warpath and the others went home. Blaster persisted, however, and at the expense of Scrounge's life, retrieved information that he had smuggled out of [[Darkmount]]. When Blaster returned, this act gave Perceptor's small group of Autobots the first good news they had heard in eons, for Scrounge had handed them evidence that [[Optimus Prime (G1)|Optimus Prime]] lived. {{storylink|The Smelting Pool!}}

[[Image:Powerglidereadytoblastoffrightnow.jpg|right|250px|thumb|]]
Further reconnaissance revealed startling news — the Decepticons were building a [[Space Bridge]]! As this would spell certain doom for both Cybertron and [[Earth]], a desperate raid on Straxus's [[Darkmount]] fortress was launched. Warpath was in charge of setting the explosives which brought down the massive tower. This attack was mostly successful, as it leveled Darkmount and ended in Straxus's destruction, but Warpath and the rest of his Autobot comrades had to retreat to Earth over the Space Bridge as it self-destructed. Here they were greeted immediately by a group of humans. {{storylink|The Bridge to Nowhere!}}

However, the humans, belonging to the anti-robot attack team, [[RAAT]], captured Warpath and the others with the help of [[Circuit Breaker]]. Disassembled, the Autobots were only released after Circuit Breaker was forced to elicit their aid to defeat the [[Battlecharger]]s. {{storylink|Decepticon Graffiti!}}

''Following [[Skids (G1)|Skids]] back to the [[Ark (G1)|Ark]], Warpath and the others got lost after their guide spontaneously vanished into [[limbo]]. Even worse was the reason for the disappearance — [[Galvatron (G1)|Galvatron]] had returned to the present. Warpath and Perceptor were the first to fall. {{storylink|Fallen Angel (comic)|Fallen Angel}} After Galvatron was forced into retreat by the vagrant [[Dinobot (G1)|Dinobots]], Perceptor's team finally managed to reach the Ark, where Warpath and the others learned of Optimus Prime's apparent demise at the hands of the [[Predacon (G1)|Predacons]]. It was soon revealed that Prime's death was a ruse. {{storylink|Resurrection!}} ''

[[Image:Warpathkingofthehill.jpg|left|300px|thumb|In the comics, the landscape provided the sound effects]]
Later, after Prime's death, the Ark was put under assault by a [[Sonic-scrambler mine|sonic scrambler missile]] fired by the Decepticon assault base known as [[Trypticon (G1)|Trypticon]]. Warpath destroyed this first missile, and the Autobots went hunting for their attacker. Trypticon would have proven to be too much for them, though, without the timely intervention of [[Grimlock (G1)|Grimlock]] and the [[Dinobot (G1)|Dinobots]]. As thanks, the Autobots named Grimlock their new leader. {{storylink|King of the Hill!}}

Grimlock's leadership turned out to be very unpopular, especially when he captured a group of [[Spacehikers|Earth children]] and threatened to execute them if Blaster didn't turn himself in for treason. Warpath and a handful of other Autobots watched quietly outside the Ark as the children were marched into space. {{storylink|Spacehikers!}}
Warpath was first seen among Cybertron's population, observing anti-Autobot propaganda being pumped through the cortex by [[Shockwave (G1)|Shockwave]] to discredit Optimus Prime and his returning crew. {{storylink|Cold War}} Warpath, like most Autobots, recognized it as a load of BLAM!
After the fall, Warpath travelled to Earth under [[Bumblebee (G1)|Bumblebee]]'s command aboard the supply ship, [[Orion]]. {{storylink|Night of the Combaticons}} They crashlanded in the midst of a three-way battle between the Autobots and Decepticons of Earth and a lone super-powerful clone warrior known as [[Sunstorm (G1)|Sunstorm]]. Things got more than a little hectic, and the Autobots were forced to make a deal with Starscream in order to gain his cooperation against (and he, their protection from) Sunstorm. As part of the deal, Starscream told them where he had stashed several Autobots his brigade had captured earlier, and Warpath and [[Bumper (G1)|Bumper]] were sent out to retrieve them. On the salvage run, however, the pair ran into [[Earth Defense Command]] agents who made a forceful BOOM! suggestion that the Autobots accompany them back to their base. {{storylink|The Omega Effect}}

The EDC were looking to conscript some Autobots to help them deal with an [[Insecticon (G1)|Insecticon]] problem, and [[Jazz (G1)|Jazz]] agreed to help after being reactivated. He left Warpath behind, however, to watch over their comrades [[Wheeljack (G1)|Wheeljack]] and [[Windcharger (G1)|Windcharger]], who had not yet been revived. {{storylink|Infestation}} After dealing with the Insecticons, Jazz and his unit hooked back up with Warpath, and then all of them proceeded on to the future site of [[Autobot City]], under construction at [[Prowl (G1)|Prowl]]'s direction. {{storylink|The Route of All Evil}}
Warpath was a member of [[Hound (G1)|Hound]]'s Tactical Response Unit, guarding [[Thunderhead Pass]], a lonely assignment watching over the deactivated form of [[Thunderwing (G1)|Thunderwing]] and his cultists who rested in stasis lock. When [[Sideswipe (G1)|Sideswipe]] broke comm silence to request a transfer to [[Earth]], Warpath was witness to Hound's dressing down of the aggressive Autobot. However, he would get his revenge later on the surface of [[Corata-Vaz]], where he took down Cyclonus with a blast to the chest. Cyclonus escaped when Warpath and the others were temporarily distracted by Thunderwing. {{storylink|Spotlight: Cyclonus}}
While Sideswipe single-handedly took on [[Grindcore (G1)|Grindcore]], Warpath and the others fought [[Straxus (G1)|Straxus]], but soon they were forced to leave Sideswipe behind to proceed with their mission. Fortress Maximus and Warpath used the space bridge network to arrive on [[Rotan]] and remove its [[Nega-Core]], which were then returned to Dead Universe where they would no longer be a threat to the living universe. {{storylink|Spotlight: Sideswipe}}
==Trivia==
* The cartoon could never seem to decide just how Warpath's face worked. In some episodes he has a moving mouthplate, similar to Optimus Prime and Soundwave; in other episodes, the "mouthplate" remains static, and three small bars on either side of it light up when he speaks, in a fashion similar to Wheeljack's "ears".
* Warpath, at least in the cartoon, displays symptoms of Tourette's Syndrome. Considering his altmode &amp; transformation scheme, this is quite a clever pun.
* Classics Warpath is the only Legends Minibot figure that has moving elbows.
